The Finalized Draft
Tumblr media
Alrighty, I finished the main part of the blanket and have ORDERED SOME YARN! I've only ordered the one colour for making the inner book cover part so that'll be sorta boring but a good start on getting the base completed.
The Nobody part will be coming back but I don't know how I want to do that so I'm redesigning the outside part and will hopefully have that designed and added before I finish the book cover.
The icon positions are not locked so that will change. The icon list descriptions below the cut.
Top (left to right):
-Trident for Posideon
-Cyclops eye for Polyphemus
-Wind for Aeolus
-Pig for Circe
Left (top to bottom):
-Bow and Arrow for Odysseus
-Lightning for Zeus
-Lotus flower for lotus eaters
-Skull for the Underworld and Tiresias
-Bloody sword for Odysseus killing all the suitors and for the Trojan war
-Scylla
Right (top to bottom):
-Helios' cow
-Charybdis
-Orchid for Calypso
-Caduceus for Hermes
-Owl for Athena
-Helmet for Trojan war and Odysseus being a general/king/killer
Bottom (left to right):
-Loom for Penelope
-Trojan horse
-Siren
-Sheep for Polyphemus
These icons are from some of my favorite parts of the Odyssey but also from some of the parts that I remember the best. I plan on rereading it while I'm working on the book cover so if there are any icons I want to update or change I can...

How I perceive different deities' energies: (pt. 2)
(based on personal experiences)
Bast 🐈‍⬛: Velvet. Roses. Incense. Aloe vera. Coconut milk. An enchanted vapor that fills the room like a fog, and suddenly its like I've known you for centuries. Light footsteps against wood floor. The humid steam of a sauna. Hot rocks against skin. An abundance of flowers; bouquets from the soul. Black mirrors and purple cystals.
Skadi 🗻: Breathing in winter air. Sharp and crisp within my lungs. Goose bumps. Cloud puffs of breath on a frigid morning. Wolves calling to each other. Dandelions. The whirl of an arrow loosed from its bow. Freshly fallen snow. Thick boots. Leather.
Fenrir 🐺: Righteous fury. Red behind the eyes. A pounding in my chest. An ancient drumb beat. Raw, red meat. Satiated hunger. An ache in my legs like I've been sprinting for a lifetime. Bone shards. The rage of the wronged. A long-fought battle. Bittersweet victory.
Freyja 🏵: My aunt's house. Plush fabric. A banquet. Cherry wine. Waves of gold. A concealed dagger. Calla lilies. Tough love and long embraces. Embroidered silk tapestries. A jewel encrusted mirror. Rosemary. Sun-catchers. Lace.
Kybele 🦁: Mountain mist. Echoing laughter. A voice that sings from somewhere just over the horizon. Dawn breaking. Roasted meat. Whiskey. Frenized dance at dusk. Breathing hard, almost panting. A sting. A balm. Cornflower. Daisies. Queen Anne's lace.
Inanna 🌟: A blue, purple light somewhere in the night. The brightest star in the sky. A river that flows between her and I and you and waves of souls that came before us. A beckoning song and a voice that comes from the heavens. An rare orchid.
Demeter 🌾: Divine rage and divine love. Wind through fields of wheat. Sun-dried tomatoes. Corn boiling in the pot. Hot summer wind. Dried grass. Being carried to my room as a child while I fell asleep. A sweet ache. A mother's touch. Trust, and a torrent of fury when that trust is broken.
Ereshkigal 🦉: Damp earth. Echoes. Owl talons. Quiet as a tomb and breathless whispers. A fluttering of wings in pitch black. Something dancing at the corner of my eye. Strength. Peace. Sterness. Beauty like the cosmos. She demands respect from every tounge.
Persephone 🥀: A funeral shroud. Bioluminescent fungi. Sweet, overripe fruit. Flowers growing from a corpse. Bones in bird nests. A hand clasping mine in the night. The smell of rain. Learning to live with my grief. A fate I no longer run from.
Cailleach Bheur ❄️: Fennel tea. Blizzard air. A lit cabin hearth while the storm rages outside. An heirloom quilt over my shoulders. Quiet. Contemplative. Resolutely austere. She knows all the answers, but she will have her silence. Burning coals. Shepherd's pie. Baked nuts. Glowing silver.

[WARNING] [WARNING] [WARNING] [WAR-]
"That's enough of that...."
Welcome to Stage 2 - [SURVIVAL] (Read more below..)
*First off I would like to thank the community for the incredible responses to the first stage of the event! It's a much larger turn out than I expected! Below are all of the responders! (If I missed you please let me know!)
@ender-punk | @somabrin | @dozen-arrows-in-my-chest | @wondon23-the-drowned-kid | @ask-radin-the-enderman | @orchid-151 | @askethandothers | @invisible-shadow | @the-enchanted-mistakes Opting into the event is my way of getting a headcount and character tally for any responses I make for the event, and who to include in event comics moving forward. So again, THANK YOU! <3
Now, the real horrors begin!
-------------------------------------
Your task now, is to SURVIVE while formulating potential plans to take down the Wither Storm!
[ The Wither Storm has now begun to roam the Overworld, reaching this stage it has acquired three sets of tractor beams and an ever increasing insatiable apatite for blocks AND mobs. Though slow, it hones in on anything living, and seeks to snuff it out as quickly as possible, or assimilate it into it's growing form.
Corrupted blocks cover the command block that powers the beast as it continues it's rampage, the destruction growing even more extreme as time moves on. In regions it has passed from, the ground is stripped bare, even to Bedrock.
Already, casualty reigns in one desert town.. Mobs, people, the very ground itself is coated in ruin... It's ruler.. gone.]
Tumblr media
Responses will add to the meter above and progress the Storm through various stages. Hints will occasionally be dropped over the Stage should participants find themselves stuck on what to do.
Responses can range from...
Fighting back against the Storm.
Avoiding the Storm.
Finding ways to distract the Storm from areas.
Ect.
Feel free to let your imagination run wild, and be sure to tag @brimstone-and-cinnabar so I can also respond in kind to what your character(s) decide to do!
There is NO WRONG ANSWER!
This stage will last until the bar is filled or 3 weeks have elapsed! If you have questions, send in via asks or DMs.
Thank you, and-
GOOD LUCK!

Hypmic OC Halloween Party 2023 🎃 ~Part I
Once the night of 31rd October has already come to the town, who knows? Something extra supernatural is bound to happen!
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: Please note that these are not the actual titles to the songs, I just made them up of course. All these songs obviously belong to their respective artists,
And the OCs mentioned belong to their respective creators as well!
To be honest, at first I attempted to make the cast match with their headcanon VCs but considered giving it up at some point because if I did that, some names would be brought up too often *side-glancing at Yuuya, Saigo, and Yorii*
Surprisingly, almost every song happens to have their own English subtitles available, so open them up if you’d like to know something. I’ll leave more details in your imagination then (¬‿¬)
If you feel tempted to do the fanarts, please feel free to do it XD
Tumblr media
So, now. Isn’t it time to let the Feast begins?
3,
[All lights in the stadium suddenly flickered on and off uncontrollably]
2,
[One by one, every light in the stadium has eventually been turned off]
1,
[Now, everything around was soon engulfed in the complete darkness]

🎃 Behind the scenes Pt.1
Even though there are other divisions and some participants which may not be mentioned above, they’re all invited and have their own parts in this event as well. For examples;
Himari Asami, Hiroshi Sakura, and Suzuran Minazuki (who was on the request of her non-blood-related cousin) were in charge of designing and making costumes with the assistance of three fashion interns; Aimi Miyazaki, Alice Shiroka, and Umi Kobayashi.
Akira Arai, Natsume Kurome, Kururi Yamamura and Queen Card’s team were noted to took part in making props. By the way, Kureha Koizumi was anticipated to participate in this as well but she unexpectedly showed up in the opening show —much to everyone’s surprise.
Reiaki Suzubayashi and Emiko Akaibara showed to work together on helping the cast prepare themselves before entering the stage.
Chiyuri Seiguni was tasked to be the main operator of most special effects on stage via the brief from the real technician, Raiden Otoha since this one had to take his part in the 7th show.
Aiko Mayeda was the D.J. and he got the party started! The 86 band and other musical units associated with other division members were also joined in to provide music for some songs.
Most choreography throughout the shows were designed and coached by Yeong Hajoon, Haruto Morikawa, and Kaede Iwasawa.
The representative of Snowflake Sentinel News, Yoichi Shujo; and the head of a certain publishing-house, Nellie Yukimura were assigned to deliver the details of this event. Please expect more live reports and some tidbits behind the scenes from them.
The foods and drinks in this event were all supplied by the alliance between Luis Kōkyū, Rashaad Young, Harumatsuya shop, and Rikiya farm.
The main sponsors of the previous event are Sigma Inc., Toi Pharmaceutical, and E.L. Medical Co. Therefore, this time it’s the turn of Wonder⇓anD Sound Systems, Arakawa Tech Industries, and the concert venue was organized by the entertainment agency “Kairiku Production” with the cooperation of Queen Card’s league.
For some reason, a certain division was banned from participating —to be specific, it’s Ginza Division. However, Eiji Noguchi and his family were secretly invited because his children wanted to come.
At first Fusao Ise and Queen card were honored to be the MCs (or the hosts) of this event but because the latter had to ‘prepare’ for her own part in the 11th show, Reika Aichi was surprisingly nominated to take over this role once again alongside Fusao.
At the beginning, all the cast were seen wearing some kind of masquerade mask before their first show started.
Though not every division was present in the 3rd show, there were flags with symbols of each team ever participated in the D.R.B. showing on stage.
For whatever reason, Aranai Norikoru was the one who delivered the line “Toki wo (Shout)!” before the chorus “Kakumei wa matte (The revolution has succeeded)!” was sung by all divisions. Well, someone in the cast seemed visibly displeased with how this turned out.
Despite the 6th show being performed by Yuuya Kanata and Yorii Sakuma, the one who advised them on the lyrics was their senior musician, Ren Nakashima, and the music provider for this show was none other than the 86 Band
Before two boys of the 6th show left the stage, the camera caught both Yuuya and Yorii high-fiving Ren who was up for the next show…
▶︎ TO BE CONTINUE IN PT. 2…

Gen VII, Complete!
Yes, we've done it! We have fully surveyed every Pokemon to appear in Alola... and a few from beyond.
As such, allow me to show you this generations...
Sultans of Smash!
(Which is just a fancy way of saying they got more "Smash" than "Pass" votes)
So without further delay, let us take a look back at these titans of smashing! Our Smashables are (under the Read More because holy fuck this gonna take a while, especially because, though fairly short, Gen VII had some, shall we say, popular choices):
1. For our first entry, I'd like to say that though they have the archery skills, they aren't Cupid! No, it's Deciduieye! And while they may not have any arrows of love, it seems they don't need them if Standard Form's 76.7% Smash rating and Hisuian Decidueye's 64.2% Smash rating is any indication! But still, it seems we know who to blame for being shot through the heart with this one.
2. This next one may seem big and mean, but don't worry! It's all just kayfabe for this natural born heel! Rest assured, Incineroar is a total sweetheart deep down. And judging by that 66.9% Smash rating, I'd say y'all more than enjoy the performance! Guess Incineroar's a Smash Brother in more ways that one, huh?
3. It's a tale as old as time, the beautiful mermaid rises from the ocean to the admiration and love of many. And with Primarina, it's very much true. Very, very true indeed, as Primarina is the first of Gen VII's Pokemon to join the Gods of Smash at an astounding 81.3% Smash rating! Seems this mermaid will definitely be part of your world.
4. Of this next bird, only one style could make it. And that would be the flamenco inspired Baile Style Oricorio! At a 54.6% Smash rating, it's clear this birds moves leave many of you enchanted.
5. Call this next one Cerberus the way it's a hound with three faces, Lycanroc's three forms all make it onto the list! Midday and Dusk both earn their spots with a 63.1% and a 67.4% Smash rating respectively, very impressive numbers. But special mention must go to Midnight Lycanroc, the second God of Smash to come from Gen VII with a whopping 83.8% Smash rating (Beaten out only by the Zoroarcs!) In both brightest day and darkest night, these hounds will be there for you!
6. In real life, the Orchid Mantis is a bug mimicking a plant. In the Pokemon universe, we have a plant that mimics a bug, but also is considered the most beautiful of Grass-types. That would be our next Sultan of Smash, Lurantis! And it seems this reputation of being gorgeous is well founded, if Lurantis's 80.6% Smash rating is any indication! You know, I don't think this is what most people meant by calling them a Man Eating Mantis, but what do I know?
7. Something's in the air. Is it love? No, but it's close! It's the pheromones of Salazzle! And as we can see from her 75.5% Smash rating, those are some potent pheromones indeed. Just remember not to get burned (...Unless you're into that?)
8: Yeah with this next one I'm not gonna beat around the bush: I'm pretty sure this hellsite is full of subs. My evidence? Tsareena and her 72.3% Smash rating! But I mean, look at her. Her legs are meant to look like latex boots, she stomps, has a whip move, and combined with the royalty thing that comes with being the Queen of Fruits (Mangosteen) and you have an irresistible mistress!
9: The wise man knows when to retreat, and when to resort to what some may call "dirty tactics". But for Golisopod, tactical withdraws to set up devastating ambushes are all fair, marking a Pokemon who appreciates pragmatism. Fortunately, as demonstrated by their 59.2% Smash rating, there's no need to retreat here! Just a need to get in and start smashing!
10. It's a certain kind of cruelty demonstrated to our next Pokemon. Made as an experiment, only to be coldly discarded and shackled with an uncomfortable helmet... Fortunately for Type: Null, nobody will abandon them again, if that 53% Smash rating is any indication! Now if we could just get that damned helmet off!
11. Aha! There we go! See, look at him! Sleek. Majestic. Powerful. Kinda goofy when you get to know them. These qualities and more help ensure Silvally's Smash rating goes up to a much improved 61.4%! Though now that just asks the question: Which type is best?
12: What's all that clashing and clanging, is someone messing with cymbals?! Nope, it's just Kommo-o enjoying his place on the list! Achieving a 63.4% Smash rating, Kommo-o is ready to make some noise! Just, ah, maybe wear hearing protection when you smash with them?
13. Normally, this Pokemon comes out for a good fight! But this time, Tapu Koko has come to smash! With great strength, an obvious joke somewhere in the fact that he looks like a chicken with his mask thing folded onto himself, and a 56.3% Smash rating, this guardian is ready to take you! Oh and I suppose they'd like to fight too if they could.
14. It's said that of the four Guardians of Alola, Tapu Lele is potentially one of the most dangerous. For shed from this fairy are fine scales that grant near limitless strength and vitality to those they touch... A trait she uses to keep battles going on longer. But, thankfully, there's a much less violent use for that energy, and it's apparently smashing! And judging by that 63.7% Smash rating, there's gonna be a lot of smashing... you may be a while.
15. And rounding out the Guardians of Alola who made the list is our next entry! The siren of the misty waters of Poni Island, Tapu Fini! Coming in at a mighty 70.4% Smash rating, it's obvious the mists couldn't keep y'all from her if they tried.
16. From among the stars themselves comes this King of Beasts, the Beast that Devours the Sun! From Ultra Space comes Solgaleo! Boasting a 53.2% Smash rating, this radiant feline demonstrates the power of the radiant sun.
17. But what is the Sun without its counterpart, the Moon? Well worry not, for the duo has been preserved! Lunala, the Beast that Calls the Moon, has made it into the Sultans of Smash with a 66.2% Smash rating! The beauty and grace oft associated with the moon shines through with Lunala, it seems.
18. Our next Pokemon is also our first guest from Ultra Space! Looking not unlike the silhouette of a good friend of the Gen VII PC and packing some very interesting tentacles, it's Nihilego! And at a 61.3% Smash rating, We can conclude that of all Nihilego's traits, the nihil in their name definitely doesn't refer to their smashing! They get too much for that to be merely nothing.
19. MUSCLES! Sorry, had to burst out with that because our next Ultra Beast is packing not just some serious guns, but an entire goddamn artillery! Yes, it's the officially voted "Most Smashable Mosquito Ever", Buzzwole! So fun fact, the "-ito" in mosquito is a suffix meaning little, and through etymology we can see "Mosquito" is basically Spanish for "Little Fly". I bring this up to say that with a Smash rating of 51.7%, it's very clear nothing is small about Buzzwole!
20. They're beauty. They're grace. They can kick their enemies really hard in the face. And most importantly, they're the fastest neat freak on the planet and beyond! They're Pheromosa, voted "Most Smashable Cockroach" in recent memory! Voted so by way of a 68.8% Smash rating! There's a dirty joke somewhere in a cockroach being smashable, but I'm afraid it escapes me, it's so hard you see!
21. For this next one, all I can say is "Something Something the eroticism of the machine". Look at Xurkitree just waltzing around like that, wires all exposed, contact points ready and waiting, Smash rating hitting a respectable 62.6% Smash rating... Truly, Xurkitree is bearing it all... er, probably.
22. Of all the beauty to be found in Heaven and Earth, little compares to the stars themselves. For ages, mankind has looked at them and thought a myriad number of things regarding them. And if our next Sultan of Smash is any indication, some have thought "I bet they'd be really smashable". How so? Well, it's simple: Every form of Necrozma, The Blinding One, The Pokemon who once shared their light across the cosmos (which I have long interpreted to mean they can make stars) has been voted Smashable in all forms! Whether it's as the representation of the stars who've long passed their prime (Standard Form Necrozma at 50.7% Smash), as the embodiment of a star eclipsed (Dusk Mane at 51.9% and Dawn Wings at 57.2%), and especially as the embodiment of a star in its prime (Ultra Necrozma at 63.8% Smash), it's clear the glory of the stars can be found in any shape Necrozma may take.
23. People on the website like fancy outfits. People on this website also love robots! So we have to ask ourselves... Can we combine pleasures? According to Magearna, yes we can! Coming in at a 53.8% Smash rating, it's clear that like the chocolate peanut butter cup, you can combine two great tastes to get something even better.
24. Of this next one, all I can say is I know for certain the clownfuckers never left despite the fact that Pennywise hasn't come up in ages? How do I know? Well it's simple you see! Blacephalon, everybody's favorite Ultra Clown, managed to earn themselves a 52.7% Smash Rating! I suppose you could say these statistics have... Blown my mind? ...No? Sorry, the joke had to be made.
25. Fast! Brutal! Efficient! Handsome! These words and more sum up the last entry onto the list! Zeraora, that late addition to the Alola Pokedex, has managed to blitz their way in with a 71.8% Smash rating! It's clearly time for an absolutely electrifying night with stats like that.
And at last, the Gen VII Who's Who of Smashing is concluded! This these 25 new admissions we are brought up to a stunning 161 Sultans of Smash... Man, if only we had a Grass starter in the Gods of Smash, we could practically do our own fan game with a Pokedex consisting of nothing but the evolutionary families of the Sultans. But I digress, next up we'll be taking a journey to good ol' Galar! Stay tuned for the Gen VIII List, and please hope that that one doesn't fight me as much as this one did in the writing process!

Good Omens Fanfic Recs
I decided to write up and sort my fanfic recommendations and thoughts, mostly for my own benefit, as an organized list of my favorites for reference. But also, here it is in case anyone's interested.
Heads up, no post-season 2 fix-it fics on this list if that's what you're looking for. Personally I'm content to wait and see on that front.
Also, I'm a sucker for pining, but also headcanon these guys (gn) as demisexual virgins, so nearly all are ace-friendly except the long AUs.
Canon Compliant - short
In general I favor canon compliance and keeping in character. Part of what got me hooked on Good Omens fanfic was the immense breadth of history available to explore with these characters. Let's list in approximate chronological order!
A Letter from “Crawly” to Azirapil (<1k) - Fanfic in Cuneiform. Amazing.
see, how the most dangerous thing is to love (6.8k) - Crawly and Aziraphale meet during the Trojan War as Achilles mourns Patroclus. Super well-researched and thought out with the Iliad!
Temporary Tattoo (9.8k) - Okay, this one's arguable on the canon compliance, it's kinda a crack-fic (and feels way more 19th century than 11th) but I loved it. Crowley's snake tattoo wanders, and he can feel what it feels. (The sequel is also really sweet, though definitely canon divergent.)
that old common arbitrator, time (1.1k) - 1602. An epilogue of sorts for the Trojan War one, Crowley and Aziraphale critique Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida. Lots of fun references.
the stars are the same as ever (4.4k) - Vignettes about Crowley hanging out with astronomers in the 17th century.
Mean It (2k) - The origin of the Apology Dance. 1650, 1793, and 1941 all featured. Short and sweet, very believable. Just as flirty as I imagined.
well-versed in etiquette, extraordinarily nice (3k) - Jane Austen, mastermind of the 1810 Clerkenwell Diamond Robbery, brandy-smuggler, master spy, and wrote books too. Well-researched, with Austen-esque prose, and perfectly fills in the background for how Crowley remembers her.
Crossing Paths (3k) - Edinburgh, 1827. Showing how Crowley and Aziraphale crossed paths there, and dropping us off where the Resurrectionists minisode begins. Delightful.
I stretch out the time (and now I know why) (6k) - 1960's ineffable wives and what happened to make Aziraphale say Crowley goes too fast.
Orchids and Tea (3k) - A shameless plug for my own fic. Meet the old lady downstairs who Crowley gives his "bad" plants to.
What You've Lost But Never Had (3k) - A sweet outsider POV with Maggie's closeted grandfather.
So You Need To Get Into A.Z. Fell & Co.; Now What? (A Guide For Unfortunate Bookworms) (1.8k) - Handy guide for interpreting the store hours, etc.
The Disposables (7.5k) - Arguably canon divergent. Surprisingly heartwarming. Eric the Disposable Demon is buds with the Usher.
When You're Through With Life and All Hope is Lost (Friends Will Be Friends) (<1k) - COVID-era ficlet post-Lockdown minisode.
The Last Four Years (11.7k) - Perfectly fills in the gap between the seasons with all the feelings and poor communication that brought us here, from the Ritz to Aziraphale's phone call.
Pointless (1.5k) - An exploration of Crowley as he is at the beginning of season 2, anxious and depressed about the pointlessness of it all.
Been Together Long? (1.2k) - It's so common for fics to depict Crowley as knowingly in love but hiding his feelings for 6000 years. But I don't think he's self-aware enough for that, and I really do believe that was an Oh moment with Nina on the street. This fic is an excellent insight into what he was thinking there.
The Afternoon Lecture (<1k) - A cute little outsider POV fic, set sometime in the Happily Ever After probably.
The Slings and Arrows of Angelic Archery (<1k) - Guess which historical/legendary figure Crowley was! Sadly just a little modern-day conversation about it rather than the actual thing.
A Narrow Escape to the Country (10.7k) - This one is so fun! Crowley and Aziraphale are guests on a house-hunting TV show. (Established relationship with innuendo, but all sexy times are off-camera.)
My Roommate from Hell (5.7k) - Warlock ends up college roommates with Adam, and yeah, Warlock's upbringing made him kinda weird.
Canon Divergent - long
Divergent in that these were written before season 2 came out, so branch off from after season 1.
Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach (99k) - This one is recommended a lot I know, but deservedly so. This was the first GO fanfic I read, as I idly looked to see what had the most kudos. And then I couldn't put it down.
Instructions Not Included (68k) - Plot heavy but excellent. I loved the writing style of this one; it's so evocative with its metaphors, but without being flowery. Sadly left a few unanswered questions since the sequel was abandoned, but it's still well worth reading. Very realistic progression of feelings between Crowley and Aziraphale (intimacy without sexuality).
The Sandford Flower Show (E) (46k) - This was a bit of a painful read with flashbacks to ancient Egypt, but it's very good. Many feels. (Higher sex-drive than I generally prefer for canonverse, so note that E rating.)
Canon Divergent - short
Slow (9.3k) - Adam assumed Crowley and Aziraphale were married and restored the bookshop with a marriage certificate on the wall. Miscommunication and sweetness ensues.
Human AUs - long (modern day)
It took me a while to warm up to the idea of reading AUs, since the immortal natures and powers of Crowley and Aziraphale are so integral to their characters (also I personally don't seek out fanfics for the smut and the highly rec'd ones are nearly always Explicit). But after seeing Slow Show in particular recommended so often, I finally gave it a go. Yes, the human versions of the characters are always different in varying ways, but I've found it really fascinating to see the different ways characters, scenes, and lines get reinterpreted in AUs and have now read way more of them than I expected to.
Slow Show (E) (95k) - I have never in my life read anything (fanfic or otherwise) as emotionally intense as Slow Show. This fic is all lust and angst and I physically felt the agony of it for days while I read. While other fics are also explicit, this is the most mature and "adult" feeling with its themes. Yes this fic is recommended a lot, but its reputation is well earned. However, that said, I wouldn't say it's my favorite.
Old Vines (E) (189k) - Excellent slow burn. This one really captures the aspect of them both being anxious/frustrated under contractual obligations, wishing they could be freer to do their own thing. Truly gratuitous descriptions of all aspects of wine, from growth, production, tasting, and quantity consumed. I learned a lot. Was also actually really inspired by Aziraphale's journey in this.
Or Be Nice (E) (151k) - I wasn't sure I'd like this one at first, but I'm glad I went for it. It's more a character study than a drama. Well done progression from enemies to lovers, and some of the very best conversational dynamics (if a bit of ngk overuse). This one highlights the petty/mischievous sides of Crowley and Aziraphale that are rarely found in fanfics, and the execution is delightful. Loved Anathema in this also.
stalwart sun, wily moon (370k) - (What, a non-explicit long AU??) This fic is amazing. Yes, long, it could use some editing to cut back a tad tbh, but still, amazing. Heist AU with an intriguing plot and life or death stakes. Characters and side characters all really well done, incorporates everything from the botched baby swap to the Great Plan and more. Amazing. Really. Only fic I've bought a physical printing of.
Talk about the weather (81k) - (Technically not explicit but yeah no they have sex.) Weatherman/stormchaser AU. They have an Arrangement. The premise of this one was weird for me because I headcanon Crowley as disliking the rain, but it's good. Not the typical characterizations you see in fics, which was really refreshing. Finally! Someone who remembers Aziraphale is kind of a bastard who doesn't say what he means, and someone who lets Crowley be happy and confident instead of a nervous wreck!
on the same page (E) (117k) - They're both writers. A very good execution of your classic fake marriage. Some lush metaphorical prose. Excellent characterizations on our pair, and the setup preceded by 6 years of intense yearning was just perfect. I do wish the side characters had gotten more fleshed out.
Married at First Sight (146k) - This premise is so silly (though then again the TV show does really exist), but it's actually really well done. The feels nearly made me cry.
Human AUs - long (historical)
On Espionage and Prophecy (E) (133k) - Take the first season 1941 flashback and make it a novel-length human AU. Aziraphale's a bookseller and Crowley's a spy working with him to double-cross the double-crossing Nazis. I will say the plot contrivance sometimes requires a bit of suspension of disbelief, but that's okay, it's fun and has some great pining.
Half Agony, Half Hope (E) (31k) - Regency era AU, but it's not all Jane Austen fantasy-land. We've got some real history lessons here, highlighting the political struggles of the time. This one's on the short side, but doesn't really feel like it; time passes behind the scenes, so the relationship doesn't feel rushed. Overall it's excellent and really deserves more love.
Human AUs - short
On the Ethics of Asking Your Professor on a Date (7.4k) - I kinda wish this one was a bit better with the showing vs. telling in places, but I still found it really charming.
Postcards From Paris (12k) - Crowley starts receiving postcards from an A.Z.F. meant for the previous tenant, and after awhile gets a chance to write back. Very sweet.
Miscellaneous AUs - short
air conditioned, love unconditional (8.8k) - AU where Aziraphale is a ceiling fan and Crowley is an air conditioning unit. Look, it's adorable, okay? (though the ending is kinda silly)
Speaking in Code (8.9k) - Cute queer Outsider POV. Aziraphale and Crowley become college professors in their retirement. Arguably canon compliant, but I'm calling it an AU since I don't really see it happening. A+ for the accurate gender treatment on Aziraphale.
Lit (12.7k) - Technically canon-divergent from the book? Crowley takes a university course on literature and surprise! The book they’re discussing is Good Omens. Crack treated seriously. It works really well actually!

Paper Icelandic Poppies
Tumblr media
Project by Kate Alarcón:
There’s a particular kind of lady-slipper orchid that I have made and remade and adjusted and readjusted.  I’ve probably made a hundred little green orchid slipper prototypes, and each try is more frustrating than the last. At this point, I suspect that the minute I finally do figure out this orchid, I’ll make it and then crumple it up, just to vent my irritation.
Tumblr media
The Icelandic poppy is another flower that I feel like I’ve never completely nailed down. I’ve been tinkering with this version for over a year now. But unlike the lady-slipper, just about every attempt at this poppy has been really fun. I think it’s because poppies — with their wrinkled petals and hairy, spindly, crooked stems — are gloriously awkward. My practice poppies could carry off every little eccentricity I inflicted on them with rumpled panache.
I hope you’ll make your own awkwardly glorious bouquet of poppies and stick them in a vase and fuss with them as they tilt their blooms at weird angles, and lean all over the place, being disagreeable. And just when you’re about to throw up your hands, you’ll step back and realize that it’s all come together. You’ll want to make more.
The crinkle technique I describe below is adapted from Livia Cetti’s gorgeous and essential book, The Exquisite Book of Paper Flowers.
Special thanks to the phenomenally talented Lynn Dolan (@lmdolan75 on Instagram) for her generous advice on this project! —Kate

Supplies
-18 gauge cloth-covered floral wire -8mm wooden beads -white cosmetic wedge sponges for applying glue -sharp scissors –poppy templates
Crepe paper
This is what I used, but definitely feel free to mix it up and substitute.
From Castle in the Air:
-“Pale Yellow Green” heavy crepe for the frill at the top of the seed pod -“Lemon” heavy crepe for the stamen filaments -“Sunflower” fine crepe for the anthers at the end of the stamens -Fine crepe in “Red,” “Persian Pink,” “Pale Pink,” “Pink,” “Sunflower,” and “Vanilla” for the petals
From Paper Mart:
-“Moss Green” heavy crepe to cover the pod and wrap the stem, from Paper Mart
Optional:
Design Master Color Tool Spray in “Holiday Red,” “Perfect Pink,” “Coral,” “Orange,” and “Yellow”
PanPastel in “Permanent Red Tint 340.8,” “Permanent Red 340.5,” “Orange 280.5,” and “Hansa Yellow 220.5”
Tumblr media
A note about grain:
The grain of the crepe paper runs parallel to the roll or fold.  You will almost always cut petals with the grain, placing the template so that the tiny wrinkles in the paper run up and down the template, not across. Each template includes an arrow to show the direction the grain should run.
Tumblr media
Constructing the seed pod at the center of the flower:
The first step is to create the little frill at the top of the seedpod. Use template A to cut a frill piece from the pale green heavy crepe. Stretch the wider end of the piece all the way out, flattening all the little crinkles in the upper half inch of the frill piece.
Tumblr media
Twist the frill piece, beginning about ½” below the top edge. The part of the frill that you stretched will form a little funnel. As I twist, I like to place my fingertip inside this funnel so that it stays open.
Tumblr media
If this feels cumbersome, it’s fine to just twist and then use one end of your floral wire to reopen the funnel.
Insert the twisted bottom part of the frill piece into your wooden bead.
Tumblr media
Dip the tip of your wire in the glue and scrape off any extra so that you have a thin coat that isn’t dripping all over the place. Insert this wire tip into the bottom of the bead, next to the bottom of the fringe that you’ve just inserted.
Tumblr media
You don’t need to push this all the way up into the bead.  You’re mostly just trying to anchor the wire tip inside the bead. You’ll secure it in the next step.
Use template B to cut a rectangle from the medium green heavy crepe. Snip a very short fringe across the top of this rectangle (it’s fine to freehand this, but you can also use the lines drawn across the top of template B).
Tumblr media
Use your sponge to swipe a thin layer of glue over this piece. Lay your bead on top of the rectangle, so that the top edge is slightly higher than the top of the bead.  Stretch the rectangle around the bead and press either side together.
Tumblr media
Trim the excess rectangle.
Tumblr media
Use your fingers to press the fringes of the green crepe down onto the top of the bead. Scrunch the green paper beneath the bead around the wire.
Tumblr media
This will secure the pod to the wire.
For the stamens:
Tumblr media
Use template C to cut a rectangle from the pale yellow, heavy crepe. Stretch this rectangle all the way out.  It should now be the same width as template D, but if it’s wider, trim any excess. The dotted line across template D shows how deep you should cut the fringe. (You’ll be cutting from the top). You can trace this line with a pencil or just fold along it and let the crease mark where your fringe should stop.
Without stressing out about it, cut the fringe as finely as you can.
Using the diagonal line on template D as a guide, cut away some of the excess paper beneath your fringe.  This will create less of a bump where you’ve applied your stamens, and also smooth the transition from stem to blossom.
Tumblr media
Use your wedge sponge to apply glue to the area beneath the dotted line. Place your bead on this fringe piece, so that the bottom of the bead sits just above the dotted line. Roll the fringe around the bead loosely.
Tumblr media
Don’t worry about what’s happening below the bead; just focus on making sure that the fringe at the top is even all the way around.
Scrunch the bottom of the fringe around the wire all the way up to the base of the pod.
Tumblr media
Gently pinch the filaments between your thumb and forefinger and bend them away from the center, all the way around, creating a tidy ring of stamens.
Now you’ve got your stamen filaments ready to go!
Tumblr media
Cut a 3”x 9” rectangle from the orange fine crepe (the short sides will run parallel to the grain.) Fold it in half vertically and in half vertically again.
Tumblr media
Cut a fine fringe through all these layers, turn it 90 degrees, and cut across your fringe to create a fine “confetti.” Gently sweep this confetti into a little pile.
Squirt some glue onto a paper plate or disposable dish, and dip the ends of the yellow fringe into the glue.
Tumblr media
To keep my seedpod frill clear of the glue, I prefer to hold the stem at a 45 degree angle and dip one section of the fringe at a time, slowly twirling it to glue all the way around.
Tumblr media
Dip your fringe into the pile of confetti.  Now your filaments have anthers!
Tumblr media
Adding color:
You can apply color before or after you cut your petals.
If I’m using the Color Tool spray, I prefer to color sheets of paper ahead of time. Though the odor fades after a couple of days, this stuff smells really intensely like bug spray when you first apply it, so I strongly recommend doing this outside, preferably with a mask on.
Tumblr media
Shake the can well, and spray on a light coat.  If you’d like more intense color, let the first coat dry a little bit and then spray on another light coat.  I like to spray rows of color across the grain of my paper, spacing them a little bit farther apart than my petal height.
If I’m using PanPastels, I usually cut and then color my petals. Use your cosmetic sponge to swipe the pastel onto the petal, swiping with the grain of the paper.
Tumblr media
I especially like to apply it so that the color is more intense toward the petal edges, fading toward the bottom, though you could also reverse that.
Tumblr media
Clockwise from top: 1. “Vanilla” crepe with “Holiday Red” spray, 2. “Red” crepe with “Orange” PanPastel, 3. “Sunflower” crepe with “Holiday Red” spray, 4. “Vanilla” crepe with “Orange” spray, 5. “Light Pink” crepe with “Yellow” spray, 6. “Vanilla” fine crepe with “Perfect Pink” spray, 7. “Persian Pink” crepe with “Coral” spray, and “Persian Pink” crepe with “Holiday Red” spray.
Tumblr media
For the petals:
Each poppy will have six petals: two from template E, two from template F, and two from template G.  Templates E through F are actually half a petal, so you’ll need to fold your fine crepe parallel to the grain and place the dotted line along the fold.
Lay the petal on a smooth surface.  Place your fingertips about an inch in from the edge of the petal closest to you. Place your thumbs right on the edge, behind your fingers. Use your thumbs to drag or inch the paper toward your fingers. When your thumbs and fingers touch, leave your thumb where it is, lift your fingertips and set them down about an inch forward. Repeat until you’ve gathered the whole petal into pleats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pick up your gathered petal and pinch up and down it to set the pleats.
Tumblr media
Holding the pleats in place, twist the petal as though you were gently wringing water out of a rag. You’ll twist them pretty firmly, but I find it works better to use a lot of little twisting motions than to try to do everything all in one big twist. Untwist and gently spread the petal, taking care not to smooth the tiny pleats and wrinkles very much.
You can curl your petal at this point or after you glue your pleats.
Tumblr media
Curling the petals is a lot like curling ribbon for giftwrap: you can scrape the petal with the blade of your scissors, a skewer, or just your fingers, moving from the base of the petal to the upper edge as you scrape.
Tumblr media
Spread the bottom half inch of the template most of the way out and use your sponge to dab glue all the way across the bottom of the petal.
Tumblr media
Pinch the bottom edge to gather it back up. Let the glue dry for a few minutes.
Tumblr media
Snip off the excess bulk at the bottom of the petal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Attaching the petals:
You’ll apply the petals in pairs. Start with the template E’s, and place them on opposite sides of the pod.  Apply a little bit of glue to the base of the petal and press it right up under the bead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second set of petals, the F’s, come next. Working clockwise, place each F beside each E, so that each F overlaps each E by about 30 percent.
Tumblr media
Finally, apply each template G petal beside your template F petals, again overlapping by about 30 percent.
Tumblr media
Finishing your flower:
Cut a few ¼” x 8” strips across the grain of the medium green heavy crepe. Dab glue on the first two or three inches of the strip and tightly wrap the section of the stem just beneath the flower to secure the petals and hide the petal bottoms. Apply a small amount of glue to one side of the stem wire. (I usually glue four or five inches of the stem at a time so I don’t get as much glue on my hands.)
Tumblr media
Hold the strip at a 45-degree angle to the stem and gently stretch the strip as you twirl the stem, spinning the strip all the way to the bottom. If your strip breaks or runs out, just begin with a new strip right above the place on the stem where your previous strip ended.
Once the glue is dry, take some time to straighten your stamens and arrange your petals. You might want to curl some a little bit more, or gently tug a petal’s edge to straighten out crumpled pleats, or press some of the petals down where the petal meets the center to separate the layers.

I FINALLY FOUND IT
@ozymandias5854
"Flowers: thank you to Puga and Oto in the MILGRAM Stanclub for identifying these!
Bird of Paradise: Paradise, freedom, joy. It can also symbolise faithfulness in romantic relationships and optimism. Wilted in the MV, which could suggest the absence of freedom, joy, etc, as well as a lack of faithfulness.
Dahlia: Elegance, inner stength, change, creativity, dignity. Alternatively, it can represent betrayal, instability, and dishonesty. It's also notable that in the Victorian era they symbolised a lasting bond/lifelong commitment between two people. Also wilted, which could suggest a lack of inner strength and a failed long-term relationship/committment.
ORCHIDS: There's a lot of orchids so I'm going to put their general meanings in here. Orchids are typically used at weddings and funerals and represent love, luxury, beauty and strength, as well as virility in Ancient Greece. They are very much associated with love, and their usage at funerals is often to represent everlasting love for the deceased. They can also be thought to bring good luck and fortune in love.
Elleanthus (orchid): It's sort of a purple/pink so: Pink orchids are the 14th wedding anniversary flower and convey pure affection. Purple orchids symbolise respect, and are generally given as a gift to show affection.
Egret orchid: Typically white, so they would normally symbolise innocence and purity, as well as elegance and reverence. However, the ones in the video are red, and red orchids typically symbolise fire, romance, desire, and passion. They're very rare in the wild, which is notable as in the tradition of gifting exotic flowers to show love and affection, the rarer the flower, the deeper the affection. (two seperate omori fans in the replies add: "My thoughts will follow you into your dreams.")
Dendrobium: Popular for use in weddings, particularly as corsages or in bridal flower arrangements to show the beauty of the bride.
Butterfly orchid: The most famous orchid species, they symbolise elegance, femininity and unity.
Cymbidium: Commonly known as a boat orchid, it represents morality and virtue, and in Asia it is an honour/gesture of respect and friendship to give a cymbidium.
Wilted: could represent a loss of morality/virtue.
--
Masterwort: Also known as astrantia. Can be a romantic flower, referred to in old folk tales as stars that have fallen to earth. Symbolic meaning is a strong, brave protector. Wilted, which could suggest that someone (probably Shidou) has failed in their role of protector.
Anthurium + Monstera: Anthurium signifies long lasting love and friendship, and it said to bring luck in your relationship. Known also as a flamingo lily, it's one of the most gifted plants on Valentine's Day due to it's heart shaped leaves and in Ancient Greece the flowers of anthurium were said to be Cupid's arrows. Monstera can represent suffocation, or long life and the honouring of elders.
King Protea: Named after the Greek god Poseidon's son Proteus, who would change his appearance to avoid detection. Generally thought to symbolise diversity, daring, transformation, and courage.
Calla lily: Symbolism varies by flower colour. However, they're generally used for occasions such as weddings and funerals due to their beauty and are also associated with purity, holiness, faithfulness. The 6th wedding anniversary flower. Dark red symbolises passion and intensity. Although calla lilies are not true lilies, lilies can symbolize that the soul of the departed has received restored innocence after death.
Roses: Love, romance, can also be linked to secrecy. Appears on four tarot cards: the fool, the magician, strength, and death. In Greek mythology, roses originated from Adonis.
Note: a lot of them have different features like not being fully bloomed, so keep that in mind. I'll update this later"
