Why is hooty in the titans eye? Is it A hooty ? It doesn't make sense if it was our hootsifer. Hypothetically, he could have been to keep an 'eye ' on king, but that wouldn't explain how he was revived by the collector in the end..

The Collector’s Magical Kingdom of Appropriation
The Collector’s reign over the Boiling Isles is actually a huge illustrated metaphor of cultural appropriation. Sure, there are the more blatant signs of full on colonialism and genocide. We plainly see the entire native population is either enslaved or hidden away in fear, while Collector takes their territory for himself. But The Owl House has always spent time being a mirror held up to the consequences of the fantasy genre, and the desires of its fans.
Tumblr media
Think of the stars with eyes that Collector uses to decorate the Isles, and deploys as enslaver drones. Why the star shape? It’s not just a reminder of how he/they are technically a little kid. It’s the overriding aesthetic of the Collector society. They seem to live in the cosmos itself, their clothes have celestial bodies all over them, and each one of them apparently had a phase of the moon stamped on their faces. So in order to make the Boiling Isles more appealing to himself, Collector stamped his local iconography all over them. He/They took one look at the native architecture and design and decided it wasn’t suitable to his wants. Along with morphing the citizens into wood and plaster, he gave them redesigned and rebranded outfits. Even the local ecology and vistas were crudely plastered over, to the point that a newcomer like Camila Noceda couldn’t distinguish what elements were original.
Tumblr media
And these aesthetics are designed to wage war with each other. The inhabitants and architecture of the Boiling Isles are modeled after the free-range bizarreness of Hieronymus Bosch. The most mundane utilities are steeped in the macabre, and nobody even blinks an eye at. This reflects how the Witch civilizations have mimicked the dead giant that gave rise to their existence. Possibly how they’re so at ease with the very concept of death, since they live with the reminder of it’s inevitability, and how it can bring beauty.
What Collector prefers is an 80’s G-rated fantasy kiddie cartoon in the vein of Care Bears.
Tumblr media
There’s also the metanarrative aspect with how Luz’s entire story has been passed on. The Collector has spent all these months play-acting Luz’s life; all her accomplishments, and all her sacred bonds. Yes it was King’s suggestion; “the Owl House” game. But Collector obviously loves it. Yet Collector has nothing but contempt for Luz herself, even as a concept. He/They get pouty or mopey whenever she gets referenced. We’ve all seen this pattern of thought with bad faith arguments from chuds online, when it comes to certain franchises. Where they don’t actually have any problems with the story or the particular tropes, they just get pissy when the protagonist is a female or person of color. Collector calls Luz “that human,” like who she was born as is an insult.
The only person Collector treats anything like a peer is King, because he is also a species that reaches Godhood. All the lesser species can be treasured pets, at best. The Collector shares a mindset (or at least outward habits) with bigoted gatekeepers, where the joys of a story or franchise aren’t deserved by people who don’t remind them of themselves. Even if those different types of people are the ones who created the story in the first place. Their accomplishments are only worthwhile if HE can use them, including stamping his name and face on them. Colonialism doesn’t just steal the fruits of labor, they steal your stories of the past, present, and future.
:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:
As an aside, the actions of erasure also extend to the only remotely real bond Collector has, King. Which isn’t surprising given that he’s literally redecorating and playing games with the corpse of King’s dad. The process King’s gone through is assimilation by way of involuntary adoption. King is dressed in Collector clothes, lives in a Collector palace (built atop his dad’s resting place), and learns Collector lore as he reads Collector bedtime stories. Meanwhile, his mom and auntie are living behind bars while they scrounge for their prescriptions.
Although this isn’t quite the intended assimilation like Collector has done for the entire Isles and witch-kind; he/they are just offering King what they enjoy most, which mostly defaults to what they’re already familiar with. That’s just normal for kids, and people in general.
I believe this is a different kind of warning Collector poses to anyone who enjoys stories, and all us involved in fandom. Not just the terror of artistic gentrification. It’s seeking out stories, characters and settings to only fulfill our own desires and preferences. Searching for only baseline wish fulfillment can trap us in a bubble that stops us from growing. Then if something is unique or incongruous, we either throw it away or end up mangling the interpretation. And when art is swept aside and destroyed, we’re also degrading where it came from. It’s creator, it’s people, and it’s country.

youtube
When King first came into his Titan power, I thought it seemed strange that it was a vocal attack. Just because the actual physical noises of the Titan - speech, language, cries - have never had any prominence in this show. Descriptions or theories of how that species have never been included in the lore reveals, or the musings or sayings of the local populace. The closest we’ve gotten is Belos’s original lie, “I am the voice of the Titan.”
I assumed it was meant to contrast with King’s squeaky voice and grand boasts being his main source of comedy. And just basic symbology about puberty. But after writing all this, I’m convinced it was setting up how to save the day from whatever Belos and Collector will try to inflict.
King will stand with his mother and sister (and hopefully aunt and Hooty) and they ALL scream out that what they have is perfect. They scream to prove they exist, and they don’t need to write any coherent song or reasonable argument to prove or earn that right. Their identity, their self perception and self respect, is their power. The most basic of expression can annihilate oppressors, as long is it’s honest. And of course, coordinated noise is a great opportunity for some musician to get involved.

Luz's Destiny
This is another made from me and my buddy @ordinaryschmuck.
Near the end of her first year at the university, Luz started getting odd dreams. Not exactly nightmares like she usually had (and tried to not tell anyone) but visions of a place. A location that wasn't part of the titan's carcass she knew. Somewhere on the isles she'd never been to in her life and nobody in Bonesborough recognized when she slyly asked about them. Eventually one person, a foreign exchange student, recognized it. Luz, deciding to investigate. She went there in persin and that night, in bed.....she had a new dream.
She was in the same location.....and next to her was a titan. But a different one from King's dad. This one was skinnier, had green eyes, slimmer wings and a spiral unicorn horn.
Luz yelped.
Titan: So, you're her......I thought you'd be taller.
Luz: Uh...Who are you?
Titan: My name isn't something a mortal like you could comprehend...So, you can just call me Sarah.
Luz: ...Hi, Sarah? Um, is this real? Or a dream?
Sarah: Eh. Bit of both.
Luz: Okay......why am I here?
Sarah: Well, first, I wanted to meet my brethrens former champion myself. Get a better look at you than I could all the way over there.
Luz: Why?
Sarah: Because you interested us human.  We've watched over those who inhabit our remains over the many centuries. Seen them live their lives as we took our eternal sleeps. And then you come along, one of the first being in centuries to not only decipher the language of a titan but also be gifted with a bit of our powers. And rather than use it for destruction or to gain power, you used it to protect others. Thats....a rarity to see. In witches AND humans.
Luz: I'm nobody special. I just did what anyone would have done.
Sarah:....Seriously? Even after all these years?  Well, you're going to have to deal with those issues if you want us to make this work.
Luz: Make WHAT work? And whose "us"?
Sarah: Who do you think?
Luz frowns. Then she looks around. On the edges of her dream she could see different eyes in the distance, each one pair a different color.
Luz:....The other Titans.....
Sarah: Yes. We've seen that despite your time spent returning to the human realm, you still have a wish to study magic, even if it's much more difficult. So, we thought we'd offer you....something cool.
She presses a claw into the dirt and slowly writes out a symbol. After a few seconds, Luz recognizes it as a glyph. But, not like one she'd seen before. Sarah presses it and a light orb appears in the air.
Luz: How....how did you that? That wasn't any light glyph I've ever seen.
Sarah: The glyphs are simply the language of us titans. And as such, there are multiple ways of saying the same thing in many languages. Or even words that may exist in one language but not another.
Luz: But what does that have to do with me?
Sarah: Simple: We want to teach them to you. Our languages. Our words. Our magic. We used to do it a lot more, choose certain witches to learn the language of the deities and then spread it to others. But they grew arrogant, prideful, and got fat and lazy.  So, we stopped doing it.
Luz: Then...why teach me?
Sarah: You REALLY need to work on those confidence issues. We want to teach you because you're the first mortal to prove worthy of it in MILLENIA. it's a pretty big deal. Try to look more excited.
Luz: I...I AM. I want to be. It's just...a LOT to take in. What....what exactly would I have to do?
Sarah: Oh, travel our bodies. Face down dangers, trials, perform tasks for others here and there, face down challanges. The Knowledge doesn't simply come to you. It must be earned. I won't lie, it's pretty dangerous. Honestly, back in the day 3 out of 5 of our priests kind of died horribly. Part of the other reason we don't do this much anymore.
Luz: I...already died a horrific death before.
Sarah: We're aware. But, hey, you bounced back! You should be fine.
Luz: Hmm.....could....could I maybe bring my friends along?
Sarah: Sorry. No. Your palisman is one thing but NO ONE else can know about this. You can show them you're magic, but NO revealing the whole "communicating with Titans" thing. Tends to make people do stupid things.
Luz: Yeah, that's true.....
Sarah: So.....?
Luz: ...Alright.
She stands firm.
Luz: I WILL do this.
Sarah: Excellent.
Luz: So.....what now?
Sarah: Come back to this spot in about two weeks or so. You'll be able to figure out the rest from there.
Luz: Alright...And if I die a horrific death, you'd BETTER bring me back with Titan magic again.
Sarah: Eh. I'll see what we can do.
Luz: Thank you.
Sarah: Thank you, Luz Noceda.
Luz begins to wake up.
Sarah, her voice distant: For keeping our spirit alive…
Luz wakes up, the memories of er dream slowly coming back to her.
Luz: Woah.....
So, Luz gets a new witches cloak, a travel bag, says goodbye to her friends and family, and, two weeks later, leaves for the first of many "independent magic research trips" She would take over the years.

Parallels
Or
Seeing Patterns in Things that Aren’t There
Part 16
Dead Gods and Empty Shells.
1. The Owl House (2019-2023) (fuck you Disney!)
“I think King said it best once. “I am both king and queen. Best of both things. Haha. But “Dad” works just fine.” - Papa Titan. - Watching and Dreaming.
2. Bionicle (generation 1) (2001-2010)
“But you are looking at an empty shell, the remains of what might have been a great ruler, the guardian of his people.” - Mata Nui. - The Legend Reborn.
This is probably the most obvious one yet. But I had to make it since I saw the TOH finale in April.
As soon as I saw it I was shocked beyond belief, but in a good way. I cried and the similarities brought back all kinds of old memories.
I wasn’t expecting it.
I’m only getting to it now because I was busy.
The Titan’s corpse would form the Boiling Isles and it’s people would form their settlements in and around his remains.
While the prototype robot built by the Great Beings would eventually lay the foundations for the villages and homes of the Agori tribes after the first experiment went to shit and the robot blew up.
And in turn the successor to the prototype, the Great Spirit robot (housing Mata Nui’s consciousness) would house the Matoran Universe and its inhabitants.
The similarities are most likely a coincidence.
I think…
Make of that what you will.
Feel free to reblog if you want.

Okay, this post is purely textual, because there will be some information and personal theories. To be precise, it's more about the Titans, their magic, biology, and anything else I can think of.
And so... Let's get started.
As we know, the Titans most likely have different glyphs, as we can see from the King, who had different glyphs from his father. Also, most likely, the ability of witches and demons to create magical spells with the help of a cycle came from, again, a Titan. Here we can take Luz, who created black and gold cycles, as an example. I think that it was precisely by being able to make such cycles that the Titans could hide their Glyphs. It was beneficial for them, because if you know them, you can use their magic against them.
Speaking of the Titans. I can make a theory that they are freely able to change their height. This is hinted at in the last episode, when the King, when he got angry and called upon his power, became bigger, though not much. Also, this is hinted at when the Titan's Father, giving part of his power to Luz, at the same time changes, grows in height. Of course, it's not a fact that this is the case, but something tells me that they can really do this, because their eggs are quite small compared to the big Titan (For example, the growth of the King/His eggs compared to the island, that is, the corpse of the Titan)
Also, I have another theory that the Titan's magic does not disappear as abruptly as it was shown in the series, but gradually. That is, even after the complete death of Titan, most likely, the magic will function for quite some time, but, unfortunately, it is not clear how long.
I can even justify why the magic disappeared so abruptly at the end of the series. I think it happened because everyone who didn't have a problem with it was using it. Luz used magic especially actively, as did Belos. Belos had this opportunity because of the tattoo glyphs on his body and the combination of the titan's body with himself. This also explains why the Collector's magic stopped working actively when he started to grow that green stuff. I'll never believe that he lost his powers because it was Belos' curse.
And about the titans. I think they have two sexes, and they can reproduce by agamogenesis, but I think they can also reproduce among themselves.
In general, this is a kind of analysis of the last episode, haha. But in general, I don't think I've missed anything, so if you have any questions, maybe I've missed something, ask me and I'll answer.
