#parallel timeline where things aren't like the games

I find it incredibly funny seeing some fans complain that the movie wasn't "lore accurate" as if FNAF has ever been consistent with its lore, like
Wow, the movie changes a lot of stuff and is not accurate to what we thought we knew? *looks at The Silver Eyes trilogy* I can't believe that, how horrible *looks at The Silver Eyes trilogy* Who would've thought they'd change stuff that makes us doubt what we know about the series *looks at the fourth fucking closet*

okay so the way the sonic universe works is that there's actually like. three or four different realities in which there's a blue hedgehog that's the fastest thing alive. the primary reality in which 99% of modern sonic games take place is the 3d timeline but that also runs directly parallel to and occasionally intersects with an alternate world where everyone is 2d instead and those are the classic sonic games including the very first sonic incarnation. there is also third alternate dimension in which sonic puts on a scarf and this dramatically alters the course of all of reality, presumably, don't correct me i don't want to know the sonic boom lore. the plot of sonic is that he's some prophesied freak mutant hedgehog who fights some egg-shaped weirdo with his besties and occasionally eats emeralds to go super saiyan because sega watched a lot of dragonball at the time. sonic's husband shadow the hedgehog is also based on sonic but came into existence 50 years before him and is also half alien and debatably not even really a hedgehog to begin with. this entire thing barely comes up outside of his dedicated backstory game With Guns because sega doesn't want to acknowledge his two gay dads who aren't gay. also this world in general has humans like casually living alongside the anthro animals but also sometimes it doesn't and eggman is the last guy on earth except earth is called mobius except for when it isn't and also what are the sonic racial politics im scared to know. also there's like a dozen different types of all-powerful reality warping crystal and sonic and co keep collecting them like pokemon. am i missing anything.

SHIPGIRL APPRECIATION DAY - Kearsarge
Tumblr media
USS Kearsarge. Let's start this post strong: Kearsarge is single-handedly the most unique character in the game (for legal reasons, in my opinion). Her design should already let you know why, but if you aren't seeing why, I will explain.
This post will divert a little bit from the formula I established post-DoY post (the first I did). It will include very, very heavy use of headcanons that are in no way supported by the lore, but I think are neat.
Personality-wise, Kearsarge knows she is superior. She is better than those other shipgirls that have decades of experience. That's simply a fact to her, and since it's a fact; all her actions do not come as arrogant. She just does things - she disregards your orders if she thinks they're not very efficient, she organizes your documents in a way she finds to be perfect regardless of what you prefer, she charges by herself or stays behind depending on the situation.
On occasion, I neglect your will and prioritize the here and now on the battlefield. While you are the Commander, sometimes you have to let your soldiers handle things – the sooner you accept this, the better.
Her approach isn't necessarily wrong, either. Despite this, Kearsarge is a very reliable shipgirl. She is, indeed, strong - her twelve 406mm main guns are accurate and devastating by themselves, but she also has access to a squadron of five F8F Bearcat attack aircraft. Her firepower is incomparable among Eagle Union backliners.
However, her personality doesn't stay like this forever. When you as the player character get closer to her, you discover she's just autistic. She deeply cares about you, but is so expressive about her emotions and trains of thoughts, it's easy to think she's just a self-centered arrogant woman who speaks with a detached tone. She will not outright tell you she's in love with you, but she will make you some borscht! (I should point out Kearsarge is, originally, a ship commissioned by the Soviet Union, hence her Russian influence). That's her love language.
Tumblr media
USS Kearsarge, steel version.
Design-wise, I adore how the artist YD managed to take one of the ugliest ships in World of Warships and turn her into such a beautiful, unique, one-of-a-kind shipgirls. An angel descending from the machine, a seraphim clad in steel and powered by steam. A herald from another timeline, where the Eagle Union necessitated the construction of Kearsarge. Her rigging divided symmetrically in half, her turrets and their support structure taking the shape of 4 wings of white metal, the faux wings and herself connected to a floating halo device to act as a mediator between the flesh and the steel. Her planes up in the air, a ghostly echo. Her arms stretched outwards, "fear not".
In the event Parallel Superimposition the commander visits a simulation based on the anomalous data from the hull of Anchorage. We learnt a lot about Anchorage, Dr. Aoste, Dr. Anzeel, and the Type-II hulls. We also learnt Bon Homme Richard exists in this simulation. Now, I believe this realm to be strictly speaking a simulation - not a real universe. However, when the event ended; TB had managed to gather enough information on Yorktown II, Northampton II, Hornet II, Hammann II and Langley II. Laffey II, as much as she made an appearance, couldn't be studied. I am guessing the same goes for Bon Homme. Who is to say Kearsarge doesn't come from this simulation? Or that she comes from a universe that parallels this simulation?
Tumblr media
Hopefully I shouldn't have to point the obvious similarities between Anchorage's rigging and Kearsarge's rigging. Anchorage is like a cherub accompanying the cyber-divine orchestra of Kearsarge's guns and planes.
-------
THIS WOMAN WILL NOT LEAVE MY MIND I HAVE SO MUCH BRAINROT FOR KEARSARGE
hopefully it's entertaining to read and y'all can see why i like her.

the boys having a breakdown when they realise that they aren't real to reader?!! yes!
I think it would be best off for readers sake if only one of the boys finds out at first cause they can ease them into it more slowly, honestly I can only imagine sky seeing one of the photos I have of my wooden goddess sword and loosing his mind over it, only to have one on one comfort from reader
and if reader had their switch with them to show the games!! seeing their past self on the screen would be so bad for them but with how reader has so many hours and 100% completion they would fall harder seeing reader care for them like that I imagine
(also I'm the same anon who sent the Boreas ask, if you take anons could I be known as 🌨️?)
Sure 🌧️!
And I definitely agree with Reader breaking it to the boys one member at a time.
We do not need 8 (or if we’re adding in the Cringe Links, First, and FD: 12) simultaneous breakdowns.
If that happened they’d all just hunker down in one spot and shut down for like a week.
But would Reader choose to reveal this knowledge to one of the Links or do one of them, as you mentioned with Sky, just end up finding out about it?
I feel like Time may be one of the better and more open members of the Chain should Reader choose to reveal the truth.
Just with the knowledge that he himself ended up creating 3 different timelines (aka worlds if we’re being honest here) in which one he “abandoned” (Wind’s era), one where he got to actually grow up (Majora’s Mask and Twilight’s era), and one where he died and failed in his mission to defeat Gannon (Legend and Hyrule’s timeline).
Or Warriors might be a good one to break the news too. Given that he literally hopped between the Link’s worlds and whatnot in his era.
He might be more understanding of the differences between worlds and universes.
Now I also have a thought on who I think would take this news the worst.
Legend.
This man literally had to live through Koholint, becoming friends with all the people there and having fun amazing times with Marin, only to wake up and realize none of it was real.
Then he finds out he’s technically not real in Reader’s world? That ALL the people he’s encountered and talked to, all of his adventures and hardships, weren’t real.
He’s gonna spiral, and he’s gonna spiral bad.
Unless Reader has gotten Legend to completely understand the multiverse theory and the fact that’s there’s worlds out there where anything is possible (“listen, there’s a world out there where we’re all donuts Legend.”) Reader better avoid telling this man ANYTHING.
NOW who do I think would be the ones to “accidentally” stumble across a thing of Reader’s and find out the truth?
Wild definitely (throughout the game this man gave no fucks to people’s personal belongings. He read their journals; stole their apples and looked amazing while doing it)
Wind (listen alright he’s a little gremlin child, he YEARNS for trouble and he emits noisy little brother vibes like no other, he SNOOPS through Reader’s things).
And I can maybe see Sky just one day seeing Reader playing on their switch when Reader was trying to be sneaky. (Perhaps Reader thought that he was in a deep sleep when really he was just pretending and just wanted to stare at Reader).
Then comes the one on one comforting for the poor Links.
I’m which case, looking back around to what I said about Legend, I think the best way to try and get the Link’s to understand and be somewhat okay is by explaining the multiverse theory.
Telling them that there are an infinite amount of parallel worlds out there, meaning that anything is possible.
————————————————————————-Sky: “So, there’s many versions of worlds in this… multiverse? And my world is one where I exist and yours is one where I - I’m not real?”
Reader: “Pretty much dear. In fact any type of world you think of right now, that’s a world that’s in the multiverse. It’s just never ending.”
Reader: “There’s a world where we’re all donuts. A world where Demise was a giant cuckoo. Hell, I’m sure there’s a world where I’m not real to you.”————————————————————————
And of course after getting the Link to believe and be okay with the thought that they’re not exactly real in their world, Reader would introduce them to their switch.
At first, The Link in question would be a little weirded out by seeing (and maybe even playing as themselves).
But then once they get more comfortable with it, they might start asking Reader questions.
Such as, “why did you play this-my game?”
“Were you there with me all the way?”
“Which game was your favorite, was it mine?”
And then the Link would bring up the question of the 100% that would show up in the corner of the screen.
Cue Reader explaining what it means.
Let’s be real here, the Link in question would die.
Their ears would turn red and they’d just be staring at Reader with raw adoration and love in their eyes. Honestly they’d probably start thinking Reader was a god/goddesses/deity at this point.
The fact that Reader spent their spare time making sure they did everything the game had to offer, got all the hearts and upgrades to help the Link in-game, went through all the trials with them.
Just because they cared for them so much and wanted to protect them.
The Link in question definitely falls even harder for Reader.
They really won’t be letting them go back to their original world now, not after what was revealed.
But mostly because they now have someone who understands them and what they went through.
Reader’s honestly sealed their fate even more.

I think what many Pokemon Legends game ideas get wrong, i think at least, is using a legendary for the name of the game, like "Legends kyurem" or "Legends Zygarde". Many times people use the third legendary of the main three for the title, but Giratina wasn't the one to get a Legends game, in fact it would have made more sense to have a Legends Giratina as a parallel to platinum, since it released with the Sinnoh remakes.
The one who got the spotlight was another important, but not heavily featured pokemon, Arceus, a mythical pokemon. So I think there's a higher chance for the next Legends game to feature a mythical with predominance. In Legends Arceus there was also many mythicals that we could catch without needing special events, making them more acessible, so maybe the Legends series will in general make mythicals more acessible?
I was thinking of a Kalos Legends game and I think Pokemon Legends Hoopa would be the best choice, it can teleport you back in time with it's rings, without the need for Arceus intervention. In ORAS because of Hoopa's rings we can catch legendaries from other regions and their themes aren't updated because they're supposed to be from the older games' timelines, this happens in USUM too, so I believe Hoopa is too interesting to not use.
Diancie and Volcanion should also appear, Volcanion has so little lore, the most interesting thing it has is the fact that in the southern part of the Kalos region, Volcanion is revered, people believe that a steam explosion caused by Volcanion created the plain where they live. This probably references the region of Occitania, the mountainous region that covers most of southern France and whose regional flag Volcanion takes its design from, which is really cool.
Diancie could also be integrated in the plot, maybe instead of her needing to make a new Diamond Heart for the Diamond Domain, the very first Diamond Heart could be made, or Diancie can be born, either works. Diancie is said to have been born from a Carbink that had undergone a mysterious mutation, the mutation could be related to the main story somehow.
In fact, I thought about a villain that wants to make everyone immortal, thinking it will create a Utopia, their plan will fail but create consequences in the region. Since Xerneas/Yveltal wake up every thousand years, I imagined the story would take place one thousand years before the events of X and Y, and the region would be medieval themed.
For Unova, it has no mythical with reality bending abilities and I sadly can't imagine anything except a Legends Kyurem, how is Victini, Meloetta or Keldeo going to hold an entire game like Arceus did? Genesect wasn't even created until recent events in the Pokemon world.
Because each mythical of Unova has a piece of history, it's hard to choose just one, they complete each other in a way
Some people speculutate on Johto remakes because of the many hints towards johto relevancy, and I think the Mythical main pokemon theory fits for Johto! Legends Celebi could work
I hope someone sees this theory and uses it for imagining new pokemon stuff or coming up with a Unova Legends game since I couldn't. I think a medieval, victorian, or early to middle 20th century Unova game would be really good, specially because if it were to be medieval, it could make kinda what Arceus made with Team Galactic and make Team Plasma into real knights, the Unova region has lots of medieval stuff and I think it's even better than Kalos for a medieval game

Discussing/Going Slightly Crazy over Tears of Themis Main Story 09: Grey Frontier, a Post
will definitely contain spoilers under the cut!
HOO BOY TALK ABOUT MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS. NONE OF MY PREVIOUS QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED AND NOW I HAVE MORE HOLY MOLY
my heart dropped when i didn't see a Trial level. more questions, less answers.
let's start by discussing the squares in the little bingo made by @/actualbird, who i will not tag because i do not want to spoil him accidentally. thank u zak for ur services :D
Tumblr media
one thing to note is that there are NO bingos this chapter, mainly because one thing most of us probably didn't expect lmao: NXX SEPARATED.
unthinkable. unimaginable. like there's practically NO team stuff in ch9. that's insane. artem was flooded with heirson cases, vyn was dealing with.. whatever the fuck he was doing, marius was presumably busy with managing the backlash of the trial in 08, and that leaves luke, who even though is the one that mc can tag along with for a case is still busy on his own with nsb stuff. hardly any teamwork happening, besides if you count marius' "interrogation" where luke gave him his button back and vyn just guiding mc to figure out what the suicide notes meant... yeah. not to mention artem being skye's attorney???. 99% Win Rate Artem Wing. hello. I have never been more confused. what's the plot behind this? are they all orchestrating a behind-the-scenes plan that'll come together, or are they really all doing their own shit? I'm leaning more towards the former given the nature of the game but gosh this is taking a TURN
translation errors were a lil funny but i could still understand the point which is all i need.
vyn doesn't say anything ominous but saying kys out of nowhere counts a little i think.
jerome 🫰 hes cute but he's uncanny and I'm so curious as to what he's up to. telling the little girl to get marius to pay was nice but there must've been an underlying intention.
no nxx team meeting (i mean with luke and artem. that barely counts because artem was so busy he just let luke have her).
mc figured out abt luke's illness but from what I'm seeing nothing is quite clear and she doesn't know he's got three years oof. artem has a clue but I'm sure he knows nothing either. and marius and vyn have their suspicions but nothing's sure or confirmed.
LUKE PROTECT ROSA !!! YEAHHHH watch ur back u bitchass macho king
do parallels btwn skye and the incident with luke in the hospital count as symbolism idk I'm counting it. i think there's some symbolism a little bit.
for our romantic moment before something terrible happens, ah yes, sweet and worried words on a phone call and then luke has a whole episode. yay. delightful. luke don't fucking die.
no tot story would be complete without an absurd mid-story debate. damn, right in front of the secret nsb station???
no weird luke gadget 😔 sorry he was busy being sick
found family? they aren't even together the marluke moment was barely anything. artem worried about luke having an episode... counts a little. not enough to warrant even a question mark 😔
no nxx meeting, no hilarious bullshit from a boy. sad.
WHAT IS THE TIMELINE SHAKES HYV WHAT IS GOING ON
free space luke is dying
AARON YIPPEEE. good dad.
vincent is a good boy but no intel from him. just him being Best Assistant. Bestest ever.
I didn't cry but i am close to a mental breakdown
LUKE DEPRESSION ASHDJKWKW poor guy.
not sure if Emotionally Charged and Slight Conflict counts as an argument but personally i think kinda?
no baldr because NO TRIAL AAHFJSJJSK
not only do i have more questions about the new Big Bad but I have questions about WHATEVER THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH THE WHOLE TEAM.
voice acting 🔛🔝 as always.
NO COURT 😓😓😓😭😭😭
marius was pretty badly injured what the hell WHERE'S HIS PERSONAL BODYGUARD AJDJFWJ LUKE CAN U DO A LIL FAVOR PERHAPS
artem? almost no artem. AND NO CAPTAIN MORGAN IN THIS STORY AT ALL 🥹🥲
luke's hands. r so pretty. in both goddamn illustrations. eeeee
okay and that's all the bingo points sorted, most of it sorted. two other things that piqued my interest was
1. skye harper. she loves taking care of people and she hates seeing people suffering. gerard suffered because of his mom and so many patients suffered because of tyson turner. she wants to protect her patients and the people she favors. i support her actions btw she's so cool for that. artem also supports her so that's a point in our favor! i also think her drinking all night when gerard disappeared definitely is relevant somehow, we'll see in the next chapter.
2. mc is probably feeling a little left out ngl. everyone's got their own thing, and she can't really actively participate in much because she got doxxed and her personal life is being pried into. and she can't do much about anything, not even help artem for some reason, and she's definitely having a personal conflict especially with luke's... everything. i just love mc's character so much i hope she snaps soon tbh.
thus ends my crazy goings. if u read all the way here kudos have a cookie 🍪
and when we get to the whole team about luke's illness... rubs hands together. hoo boy ch10 is going to go CRAZY.
ALSO the nsb is definitely shady and marius does not trust em all that much. i think he trusts luke but his affiliation with the nsb is causing some distance. aaa.

No hate but when you're bingewatching Game Theory and he says you need intuition as a part of being the type of theorist he is in one video, and says you need to listen to HOW the characters say something, then in the very next vid, he plays Phone Guy's line to try and match it to William Afton's line in the movie.
I get that he was excited, but what he did there was take the line at face value, and not pay attention to HOW the lines were said.
Phone Guy says his line with kindness and caring about the nightguard's well being. (A nightguard he's implied to not even know), implying he is a selfless individual... even dangerously selfless, to the point where him doing the nightshifts may be a form of, you know... self harm... out of the guilt of not being able to save people.
Meanwhile, William says his line with a lot of smugness. He knows who Mike is, and he lured him into a trap on purpose. There is no danger to himself, as he's sitting in his cushy little office. The catchphrase may be the same, but the tone of it has something more sinister lacing it. William knows Mike will probably die in here... and that's the plan.
It matters to take into account the personality of the characters. Otherwise anyone could be anything if they say the same line. Was the Mimic literally Gregory just because he said some of his lines? The point is that Matt could have examined this idea closer and maybe found a parallel to Ruin... But no, your old theory is now correct even though Scott told you it wasn't the day after you posted it. It's almost like you said in Film Theory: the movies are a separate timeline and have many inaccuracies to the games, they are their own thing and the references should not re-write the games to be something they aren't meant to be. A character who does Not embody Phone Guy's personality traits cannot be a parallel to his character in the games.
Again no hate to matpat, I wish him well and I like a lot of his videos (mainly the in-depth essays), but I feel he did contradict himself here. It either is important how a character says his line, or it isn't.

2, 7, 14, 23 and 27 from salty ask please
2.) Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?
KillerVibe, aka Cisco/Caitlin. I do get why it's a popular ship for those two, but I just can't. Their platonic love for each other is so lovely and I think I happened upon them right as I was feeling a bit burnt out on the 'men and women can't be just friends' trope. So these two being bffs and never a hint of anything else no matter how much they clearly loved each other?
Beautiful. Why would I want anything else for them?
Colette/Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia (which was just re-released on the latest consoles, if you haven't played it before and are looking for a new game to play... pick this game up, it's so good!!!!) - it's not enough to turn me off a fic for there to be Colette/Lloyd going on but I just... read them as having a sibling relationship. There's nothing really romantic about their interactions - honestly the only person who really says anything shippy about them is Genis. And Lloyd sounds like an exasperated older brother telling Genis to shut it when he does. Like... Colette is in many ways Lloyd's person - he does love her and he pays closer attention to her than the others do because he knows she's got a bad habit of not admitting when something is wrong. I just don't read what's there as romantic.
7.) Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?
Olicity. Oliver and Felicity had some really cute ship teasing going on in the early seasons. But when they actually acted on it... I can't really say they brought out the best in each other. Felicity struggled to trust Oliver but would paper over that with complaints about Oliver doing the same to her. But Oliver's issues were, at least, born out of ptsd and a lack of mental health self care. With Felicity's character, it just seemed like the writers were Flanderizing her to some degree and her character suffered a lot. Most irritatingly, Oliver grew further away from his comic book self instead of closer as was initially promised. I think their lowest point was hijacking the Westallen wedding, where Felicity made someone else's big day about her and Oliver just... went with it. But she also made a scene at the rehearsal when she'd thought Oliver was re-proposing to her and he wasn't. It was very uncomfortable to watch.
They were a lot better at dealing with other people without each other, but... *waves hands in a resigned fashion* together they were just kind of obnoxious in the end.
14.) Unpopular opinion about your fandom?
I guess that depends on the part of the fandom.
Eobard Thawne was massively mishandled post S2. He should have remained a posthumus character. All his interactions with Barry's future should have been in Eobard's past. Either with Barry traveling to the past to interact with EoWells or Mattobard showing up from points in his timeline that predated killing Nora Allen. S2 set that up really nicely, but unfortunately there was no follow through and they went in a different direction.
We'll never know for certain that Iris chose Barry because she was truly in love with him and not because everyone was saying it was her destiny. Even their E2 counterparts were married. If everyone tells you that something you aren't sure you want is the best thing for you ever and you'd be foolish to not do that thing then... if you do what you've been told by everyone in your life, is it actually because you want to? Or because you think you're supposed to? The show did, finally, sort of kind of not really acknowledge this. But... S9 when they've been married since S4 was... not the time to do that.
In S3 Future Barry should have been the one with the facial scars and Savitar with the ridiculous Emo!hair.
I... actually really enjoy Zoom coming off S1 with all the parallels that Team Flash is so oblivious too. It's only because of Savitar (and not to forget the Rival and Trajectory) that I feel like the show got overloaded with too many evil speedsters in the first three seasons. There were five - that was about three too many. (That said, Zoom probably should have been the S3 villain with S2 centered on the Rogues. Give the team some breathing room after dealing with Eobard.)
23.) Unpopular character you love?
Eobard Thawne. I will complain about him being overused and misused all day if prompted, but there's a reason why I gravitate to him as a lot as the main villain in my own writing. S1 Eobard on the Flash in particular is just such a fascinating and compelling villain. And Matt's take on him over in S2 of Legends is really great. His exasperation with his co-villains makes them all such fun.
Julian Albert. He was very unlucky in love, falling for Caitlin who clearly just... was not interested in return. And very unfortunate to have whatever was going on with Savitar and 'Alchemy'. But he gave Barry a much needed coworker at the CCPD. (Barry cannot be the only CSI in the entire CCPD. He just. Cannot. But it certainly seems that way sometimes, doesn't it?) If they'd followed through with making the not-Caitlin-not-Frost character in S4 the way S3 seemed to clearly intend, then perhaps Julian might have become the new team medic? Alas, we just get a single brief mention of him in S4 and not even a proper send off for him.
27.) Least shippable character?
Hmmm... Bart since I just haven't seen enough episodes with him to get a good read for his personality at all. And since most of the characters I have seen him interact with are either his parents, his grandparents, his honorary grandfather (Jay Garrick), or members of Team Flash who are presumably honorary aunts and uncles... who would I even ship him with? Certainly not Godspeed.
Sherlock and Joan from Elementary both read as different identities under the arospec umbrella that while I ship them as a QPR together, shipping either of them romantically with anyone - including each other - just feels like it'd make them out of character. They say they love each other in canon without it being automatically romantic. (big deal to me!!!!) So they're equally least shippable to me on that show. And it bewilders me that people do ship them romantically. (Did we not watch the same show? Did people not see how aro they are and how their friendship defies amatonormativity? *heavy sigh*)

BNHA 335 - Thoughts
Here we go - the chapter where All Might stares at the egg that's about to explode in the microwave or something... I'm probably mixing my metaphors.
Tumblr media
So here we are 2 days after Deku returned to UA and he's good as new and all in a chipper mood despite Star's early demise, which is kind of weird, but then again, sometimes taking a bath with all your besties and being tucked in with a warm blanket is all you need to go on.
Here I thought we'll be done with the endless exposition, but no. All Might helpfully gives us the villain line-up, in case we haven't paid attention in the last 300 chapters, like an announcer of a football game.
Tumblr media
So in case anyone have doubts:
Shigaraki -> Deku
AFO -> Bakugou
"The Madman Dabi" -> Shouto
Toga -> Uraraka
Then it gets a bit more fuzzy - but basically All Might assures us that there are still 6 high-ends to go around, plus the PLF leftovers (see Midnight's killer there?) and then tells us that of course more villains can pop out of thin air should he need more match-ups.
So the most interesting thing is AFO being confirmed as a separate boss fight - and I'm fairly certain it will be Bakugou's. I'm also reasonably convinced that he won't solo it (I don't think Deku will solo Shigaraki either), because the only build-up I see is the thematic parallel to 2nd Vestige, who "collected allies" to beat AFO. I think where 2nd failed, Bakugou will succeed and he'll take down AFO without losing his team. Which is a cool endgame for him - so fingers crossed.
All Might also tells the kids that hey, since Star bought you a week - use it to power up.
Here is my favourite bit of the chapter where Bakugou gets to snap at All Might and the entire class joins in on the snark. Perfect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do have many questions though. Like it's great that they were training - but how can you train your quirk in the dorm efficiently? At least for the likes of Bakugou and Shouto and Tokoyami? And how does that work with the timeline. And why aren't the Pussycats, who are rescue heroes out in the disaster areas, you know, rescuing and stuff? And why can't the kids just train with them out there?
But ok. At least they also levelled up somewhat.
Tumblr media
Anyway - for Deku, any day is the best day when he gets to train with "Kacchan and the others" - are we getting Deku vs Class A 2????
Tumblr media
Or maybe our long-awaited DVK3? Let's goooo!
Btw, Shouto's arm looks terribly out of proportion and ruined the only little solo panel of him - grrrrrr....
Tumblr media
But at least we get this little gem, where Kiri is like - I don't have patience for this Origin Trio business anymore and inserts himself into the threesome. It gives me major USJ feels.
Tumblr media
Ok, so after gushing about finally seeing Class A again, I guess we are back at AFO's lair, where Shigaraki is back in "kill All Might"-mode and Touya is back in "tap-tap, let's torture Endeavor already mode" and AFO continues with his "I'm smarter and prettier than all of you and I also have more friends" as we reveal *gasp* to nobody's surprise that the traitor is Hagakure.
Tumblr media
I guess HK already went like two chapters without drawing a naked silhouette - so the reveal was timely.
I'm kind of neutral about this reveal, because I've expected it to be her. So for me the real intrigue starts now. Why is she doing it? How is Aoyama involved? Where and how will she be used?
It could still turn out great or it could be terrible and be resolved in 2 chapters - we'll see.

mmmmmmmmmm mmz related question
how do you think ciel n' copy x relation would have been?
I can't imagine Ciel and Copy X in any sort of relation that isn't remotely negative in their current timeline. But I'm sure I can somehow imagine some way they could both co-exist.
This analysis was written longer than originally expected, a TLDR is located at the very bottom.
Major Spoiler Warning; (Mega Man Zero 1, 3 and Ciel and Copy X's backstory)
Despite being his creator, it seems Ciel kind of disconnected from Copy X in his creation (Though I can't say that with full confidence in its truthfulness in canon, the game probably left them like that for mystery and vagueness). I can guess that, as Copy X begun building his anti-Reploid Regime, any "attachment" he might have felt towards Ciel was ultimately thrown out the window, (To be fair, if my mom created me, said "done" and quickly left without a word, I'd be mad too. Ciel is one of the reasons behind Neo Arcadia's Regime, since she created him, even admitted to it.) more so from Dr. Weil's influence.
In game, the interaction isn't much. When Copy X is resurrected by Dr. Weil, he barely talks to her, and in that one time he wasn't nice. Only appearing to offer "amnesty" in exchange for her system and total surrender. What other opinions we do hear aren't positive, Ciel clearly distrusts him, and Copy X utterly hates her. They are obviously very distant, if they did genuinely converse, I don't doubt Copy X would immediately dispose of her after Ciel finishes monologuing why she is so disappointed in him and has hope for Zero. I doubt further he'd miss her too.
Tumblr media
But I digress. Parallel universes exist in Mega Man, so time to experiment! Let's expand our horizons for the sake of creativity, a different world formed from the original. The Dark Elf is still sealed by X, his city doesn't take a turn for the worst from his replacement's rule, resulting in the nonexistence of the Resistance and Zero's contained body remaining undiscovered. Where Copy X isn't an unsympathetic asshole (Dr. Weil disappeared and is invisible, for whatever reason.) and Ciel is, in fact, involved and as motherly to him as with everyone else, their assumed time period is before MMZ 1. Everything is in a sort of alternate "best-case" scenario, there are few struggles, but human and robot equality and peace is upheld.
I'd describe their relation as "tough love", they aren't as personally included as they could be. Although both are busy and involved in far different affairs, an effort is being made. This version of Copy X isn't psychopathic and is far less murderous, but he can still act slightly haughty, nerve-racking and God knows he will never not be stubborn. Which means Ciel steps in as a guide for her creation from time to time, Copy X tries to avoid it in stubbornness; teach him a thing or two about opening up to others, the benefits of equality and consideration of other people and not allowing arrogance to overshadow his judgment.
Arguments don't really happen, no serious ones at least, mostly from how Copy X deals with conflict and moves forward. And it's not as much of arguing as just an in-depth conversation regrading recent decisions. It's a journey, about Copy X's growth as a person and his grasps on fair law and equality between the species. Ciel scolds any unacceptable behavior he may develop, suggesting fair and more humane resolutions, hitting him over the head with that classic "acting like a decent person" spat; he remains open, indeed listens. She is that strict, but overall, kind mother type. During her free time, she tries harmless methods to bond with Copy X in familial ways, researching brand new answers to issues by receiving advice and seeing other peaceful families, trying to inspire Copy X to do the same. Labelled a prodigy at a young age, she deliberates over problems and practices many solutions, a scientist will be a scientist. Ciel does what she can to be an outstanding mother in his eyes, like to Alouette. I can see Copy X soon coming to admire and love his mother in this specific version of MMZ, rarely says it even so.
Truly connecting the definitions of the heart and soul is a hard lesson, since Copy X's superiority complex threatens to evolve and overcome him, understanding and sympathizing with inner emotions is how X managed to rule as long as he did, Copy X wants is to be as perfect as his counterpart was. So, he attempts to understand in the best way he knows; learning and patiently observing, which is exactly how Ciel adapted to educate herself quicker than humanly normal.
TLDR; There are bumps in the road, and it happens in an alternate world, but Ciel and Copy X work it out (By talking like a fucking family.) nonetheless.

I wonder how Deltarune fits in the grander scheme of Toby’s universe. There’s no Frisk or Chara, Asriel is a hell of a lot older (not only is he alive, he’s in god damn Uni), and how does the dark worlds work? Do they exist as one big world, or are they separate? Are they same as the Underground in Undertale?
Also the damn beginning of Deltarune confuses me the most. It’s almost as if we are forced into Kris’s body as some kind of experiment.
I think Deltarune and Undertale are parallel universes. This is all but canon, even. Deltarune exists in a timeline where monsters populate the Surface rather than the underground. There are differences that make sense; Asriel never died in this timeline, instead he grew up. He'd be this age by the time Frisk fell down Mt Ebbott, if you think about it. You could even consider Kris to be Chara's counterpart, easy to see in their design and role. It was never stated in Undertale that Chara and Asriel were the same age. Asriel could have easily seen several years older than Chara.
Back to parallel universes. Despite being on the Surface, notably, there are no humans in sight. The mere mention of humans are extremely few and far between, Kris's case appears to be a very rare one. If we go by Undertale's rules, maybe humans are the ones trapped underground this time around.
So, quite possibly, what we're looking at is a Reverse Undertale universe. Going by this logic, Dark Worlds can technically be opened in Undertale, too.
Except. It's actually more complex than that.
In chapter two, Queen mentions that only a Lightner with determination can open the fountains between worlds, and specifically targets Noelle, a monster. In this timeline, monsters can have determination. That does not follow Undertale's rules at all.
But that's a whole other post entirely. let's move on to Dark Worlds.
Darkners, notably, are not like regular monsters. It's not as though they live in the same world as Lightners, trapped beneath a barrier under a mountain somewhere. The Dark Worlds are pocket dimensions that exist separate from each other, and Darkners can't survive in Dark Worlds that aren't their own, as seen with Rouxls and Lancer turning to stone in Cyber City. You can't plug a deck of cards into a computer, after all.
(This doesn't seem to apply to Ralsei though, but I've already given about my thoughts on Ralsei here.)
One thing to remember is that Dark Worlds cannot exist without the Light World. Dark Worlds are created from the Light World-- the empty classroom with the table games, the computer lab and its code, now the Dreemurr residence, with whatever that entails. The fountains give an inanimate space life, they create sentience where there formerly was none-- and seen with the Card Kingdom, once a fountain is closed, that Dark World will cease to exist and the sentience is snuffed out again. The creatures that lived there are reverted back to their inanimate states in the Light World, as they were meant to be.
(You're able to bring the Darkners of every world back to Ralsei's kingdom, funny enough. No matter what world they hailed from, they can survive in your castle town. That's pretty interesting. Maybe this will be explained in further chapters. It might have something to do with Ralsei himself.)
As for the beginning... Kris is a very interesting character. Not only did they have a save file before we even started the game... but they had the birdcage, too. Kris has been a vessel for quite some time, now. We're not the first one to pilot them around like this.
Kris has had other players. And yeah, I highly believe this is part of an experiment from someone in the game.
Maybe-- and pardon me for bringing up the most infamous theory in Undertale history but-- just maybe, it has something to do with everyone's favorite loose end, Dr. W.D. Gaster Undertale. Gaster studied alternate universes. Deltarune is an alternate universe. But I'll spare the details for another post.
Anyway, I went off on a tangent, but here's my two cents.

Jupiter's Legacy: To Err is Human, to Bore is a Superpower
Tumblr media
Spoiler Alert: I will be getting into a very detailed rant on why I think this is a well-written but ultimately bad show, so if you plan on watching it and don't want to be spoiled, scroll away now. Thanks!
Having seen the entirety of Jupiter's Legacy, I would say this series consists of three different shows fighting for time: the good (the story set in the past, where the first superheroes get their powers), the bad (anything that happens in the present, especially the finale), and the boring (all the stuff that's in between). And that battle for focus spoils the great moments that the show does have.
The biggest problem I have with the show, to be perfectly honest, was that it likes to repeat itself. Scenes from one episode pops up in another through flashback, or through a different perspective, or through echoes. And while it's sometimes a great narrative device, it isn't utilized well in Jupiter's Legacy because of one thing: there's no clear main character in the show to anchor that narrative device to.
Josh Duhamel's "The Utopian" might be front and center in the promos and publicity photos, but his character is more a nuisance and a plot device than anything else. Sure, he's central to the moral conflict of the show--but he's not the one at the crossroads. He's an immovable object that causes the dilemma; he's neither the solution, nor the character who needs to make a choice.
Of all the other characters, the only two that has actual progression are Lady Liberty (Leslie Bibb) and Brainwave (Ben Daniels). Lady Liberty, in the past, is a woman who chases after the truth. In the present, she becomes subservient to the Utopian. And during the show, she (very) slowly regains her agency to think for herself.
Brainwave is presented as a sympathetic character you're supposed to root for. But certain acting and directing choices made throughout the series clearly paints him as a budding antagonist. A much bigger antagonist, it turns out, by the finale episode. But at least his character had a trajectory.
Brandon (Andrew Horton) had more potential in that he was the most affected by the show's thesis of how can good ultimately be effective when it lets evil survive; his character is the one who starts the conflict that propels the show forward. Unfortunately, the show completely forgets about him by Episode 3. By the time the show deigns him important again, in Episode 7, he's had an off-screen epiphany that he needs to follow his father's example. Only for the finale to take that development back again.
Which leads me to another problem I have with Jupiter's Legacy; the story-telling choices it made are... not great. While I stand by my initial statement that the show is well-written (except for the seventh episode), it feels like the episodes are written with no thought of what came before or what comes after.
Like, going back to Brandon's character; the first episode forced him to make a choice: kill the bad guy or let his family die. He chose to kill the bad guy. It's a decision that puts his father, the Utopian, in a bad light because he was the one who made the rule that heroes aren't supposed to kill. Episode 2 is supposed to deal with this fallout, but instead Brandon is sent to a farm while the main story focuses on the Utopian trying to reconnect with his other child: Chloe. A storyline that doesn't even get picked up again in the remaining episodes.
Episode 2 ends with funerals. The parallelism between how the funeral in the past ignites the story forward, while the funeral in the present signals the beginning of an ending is great. The moment Brandon has trying to reach out to the surviving family of one of the dead heroes is spot on. But neither timelines have any impact to the viewers because the characters are seemingly pushed by plot instead of by their traits, leaving the episode like a computer-generated piece of art: beautiful but emotionless.
And instead of continuing Brandon's journey and his relationship with his family, Episode 3 focuses instead on a new character: a petty thief with a super-powered crew. Hutch (Ian Quinlan) is a charismatic enough antihero, but he has no card to play in the game yet. The episode writer weaves in Hutch's story well with flashbacks of who George (Matt Lanter) was; so well that when it's revealed that Hutch is George's son, it doesn't feel out of the blue. Unfortunately, neither Hutch's story nor George's moves the story of the first two episodes forward. Instead, the episode feels unnecessary. Like the two episodes that follow it.
Things only get moving again in Episode 6, the episode that follows Lady Liberty in the past and present. She gets a great scene with new hero Ghost Beam (Kara Royster) who needlessly dies because she upholds the Utopian's code--but the whole episode only feels necessary because we've wasted so much time on non-essential character-building that the show needed to remind the viewers of what the show's main premise was. And by this time, the show has already lost all its momentum, and outside of Lady Liberty and Brainwave, no other characters has developed enough to make us want to root for the good guys to win.
This is Episode 6. The season only has eight episodes. Why did the show waste so much time?
Meanwhile the story being told in the flashbacks are being allowed room to breathe. Too much room, to be perfectly honest. While I get that they allow for great parallels in the individual episode, the actual decision to make them play out throughout the season instead of grounding them to just one episode feels like it was made for style rather than substance.
I mean, I know that Matt Lanter is a charming actor who needs to be in all the episodes--but how about writing him a better character that appears both in the past and present? Instead of just prolonging his screen time by stretching the flashbacks so much they felt like they had their own show?
And don't even get me started on the way they treated their characters of color. What was the point of diversifying your cast if you were just going to shortchange them anyway? Fitz (Mike Wade) had a great characterization in the flashbacks, but he just existed in the present timeline. His daughter Petra (Tenika Davis) would've been a great foil--and maybe love interest--for Brandon, but she too was underutilized. Anna Akana's Raikou was wasted, and the end they gave for her character was bordering on criminal. And I could go on and on, but I wouldn't. Because I'm tired and I already spent way too much energy on this show.
Steven Deknight did such a great job when he was the showrunner for Daredevil's first season on Netflix. I don't understand how he went from that to this: a show that talks a lot but says nothing. Beautiful but emotionless.

If characters who aren't yanderes in parallel worlds/routes aren't true yanderes, so Yuno isn't one either by that logic
Tumblr media
^Literally you anon.
First thing first anon, if you’re going to try and come here to debate with us, you can at least bother to fact check yourself if we actually ever said that. Yes, we do say it’s an issue if the multiple routes aren’t consistent with the character being a yandere. But it doesn’t out right kick them out of the running in being a yandere. Look for example 9s from Nier or any of our otome game reviews. We all gripe about the multiple endings, but we never say “Oh, this story has multiple endings? Guess they’re not a yandere! Hyuk!” If anything, most of them got a yandere title to them, it’s just depended on how strong of a yandere they are on the yandere scale. And a character could be a 5/5 yandere on the scale with multiple routes as long as the character is consistently a yandere in every path. If it’s just one path where they’re a yandere while everything else they aren’t a yandere, that looks really bad.
Now for Mirai Nikki.
You do realize that Yuno was pretty much a yandere almost all the parallel worlds until Yuno, Yuki, god, and whoever else messed with the parallel world time line, right? For example Yuno. When Yuno jumped worlds, that changed some things but she was still a yandere. Yuki, that timeline change due to him making the “perfect world”. How is this different from routes? Here with Mirai Nikki, someone actually manipulated these characters out of their norm. That Yuno wouldn’t be like that if Yuki never physically change her life. Now with routes, each of those routes are actions the character themselves made and literally made to act like a certain way like a doll. And before anyone points to the player or some meta bs, no this doesn’t count. In the end, the player is just checking out premade paths, not actively making a new one for these characters.
Completely off topic, I have a crackpot conspiracy theory about this anon. Let’s call it “anon lore”.
We noticed how in the past two days we got a large fluctuation of these sort of “debate anons” who basically want to challenge our beliefs or posts. It’s pretty normal for our blog since we do have opinions different from popular thought on yanderes. But there was a large increase; most of our followers may not have seen since we deleted most of them (they were repeat questions). They were basically one after the other.
My guess is that this anon was someone who got their feather ruffled after reading one of our posts where we called one of their waifus not a yandere. I’m guessing either the Shuffle! anon or the School Days one... hell, both might be the same person!  But anyways, after getting their jimmies rustled by one of our quicky reviews, they made their first ask... challenging about the quicky review. But then they switch tactics. To prove that they’re right and we’re wrong, they plan to discredit us by challenging certain points on our beliefs on yanderes and basically point out our “hypocritical nature”. Just to show, “These stupid girls clearly don’t know anything about yanderes if they called my waifu not a yandere.” Hence I present to you all, Checkmate Anon (basically the “checkmate atheist” meme + anon).
Anyways... hope you guys like my deep anon lore. (This is obviously a joke)
Tumblr media
(Pls, next person who sends a debate anon, pls add in “Checkmate Critics” to make yourself sound like a saturday morning cartoon villain.)
