Kabir The Great Mystic: Spiritual and Ethical Teachings - Spiritual Awakening Radio - Sant Mat Satsang Podcasts
Tumblr media
Kabir, the "Rumi" of India, one of the greatest Saints, Poets, and Spiritual Masters in the history of the world! Selections: Says Kabir: "Kal (time, ego, limited mental perception) has entangled people in illusions to such an extent that they have totally forgotten their Real Home." "Meditation will remove all your burdens; meditation upon Ram's [God's] name will become your support." "One after another, many births I took; many paths I followed to escape this relentless cycle. Only when I made my mind still did I obtain the state of lasting repose." "Just as the lotus blooms after getting the light of the sun, in the same way the sufferings of the souls from ages and ages are finished after having darshan [vision] of Sat Purush [True Eternal Being, God]." The Bijak is a key scripture of the Kabir tradition: "Just as a coded document shows the way to a Hidden Treasure, just so this bijak shows the way to realize the soul; it teaches such words to the soul but there is seldom anyone to understand them." "Death enshrouds the whole world, including all the superstitious wise-men. Only those will be freed who find the Path of Love." (Satguru Kabir)

Solving the Mystery of Tulsi Sahib's Guru (Origins of Sant Mat Series)
Tumblr media
"Listen, O Phool Das, I have given out the same true secrets which Sants like Kabir Saheb, Dadu Saheb, Rai Das Ji, Dariya Sahib, Guru Nanak, Soor Das Ji, Nabha Ji and Mira Bai have spoken of. They, too, have composed similar hymns describing the bliss of the highest spiritual region, whose glory I also have sung, blessed by the grace and the dust of the holy feet of Sants." Tulsi Sahib (1763-1843) is viewed as being the adi-guru or founding spiritual master, the "great grandfather" of modern-day Sant Mat and Radhasoami. Most all recent Santmat sects trace their lineages directly back to him. Some believe that Tulsi Sahib, the great Saint of Hathras, never mentioned the name of his satguru in the writings that have survived. For them there is no answer to this question of who his initiating Sant Mat guru might have been. In recent years I have established my own view on this subject and have observed that Sant Tulsi did indeed mention the name of his guru on numerous occasions in the way that most disciples typically have done in their banis and bhajans (devotional hymns, mystic poetry). This name has been there the whole time in the English translations of his writings, and there are many more such references to the identity of this spiritual master if one can access and read all of the Sant Tulsi writings available in Hindi. All we need do is notice this particular guru's name as it appears in the various books attributed to Sant Tulsi Sahib of Hathras, India (Shabdavali, Ratan Sagar, Ghat Ramayan and, Padma Sagar).

Spoilors for Heaven Official's Blessing
Y'all I have a question
Is Mu Qing a god of medicine in the original books? I know that in the fanfic No Path Are Bound he is a "medical master" but is it ever even mention in the actual books? If not then that is my new head cannon cause in the donghua Mu Qing is shown examining Ming Yi when they come back from the ghost city and he is the one to give Xie Lian the medicine vial after he is put under house arrest. Also I am pretty sure Mu Qing is the only official interacting with medicine, not including Nan Feng who gives the caravan the medicine that will help him last a day, unless I am remembering wrong and it was Fu Yao who gave it.
I might be just be forgetting things and everything I said here is wrong but I have such a strong feeling that I am on to something.

Note
Maybe it's my personal bias, but a dark Ahsoka trying to get back in to the WBW because the whole mess from Anakin and then never actually processing her feelings, grief, anger etc leading her to thinking she can "fix" everything by "saving" Anakin. Not really thinking of the repercussions.
And have it be that she isn't trying to change the timeline for selfless reasons, but because she wants Anakin back. That misplaced sort of blame that comes when you over idolize someone. It was only Palpatine's fault, she tries to believe, Anakin wouldn't have done this all unprompted.
In trying to get back to the WBW having her actually process her emotions and the events and realize she's putting herself and her former master on pedestals to cope. Gradually working on herself.
Or not. Idk having Ahsoka unhealthily cope with grief in a way almost paralleling Anakin (trying to cheat death for Padme and failing anyway) sounds cool to me. Or maybe I'm just exhausted.
This would certainly make a real cool AU! The one thing making me hesitate is that she explicitly says while in the WBW in Rebels that Ezra can't save his master just like she can't save hers and never shows any real inclination towards trying to use it to save Anakin. So if you went with this concept, you'd have to figure out why she changed her mind on it or you'd just have to pretend like that moment didn't happen.
But in general I think that the idea really works! Like, I wouldn't want her to actually MAKE IT to the WBW or anything, I don't want any weird time travel shenanigans for her to mess with, but I think the idea of her TRYING to get back to it so she can fix Anakin, or fix what she did wrong or something could be a really interesting goal for her to have throughout a season where she's dealing with her Anakin feelings. Especially if we assume she's slightly fucked up from Malachor and its Sith bullshit in addition to her regular emotional struggles.
And in the she has to give it up. Like maybe she finds a way to do it, a way to open one of those doors, but doing so would have some sort of consequence and she has to choose between her selfish desire to "save" Anakin and fix what she believes are her own mistakes, or keeping that particular consequence from happening. Maybe people she's grown close to over the course of the story will be killed or put at risk if she opens the door, and she has to let it go, let ANAKIN go, in order to protect them.
That version of Anakin is gone, he's dead, and the version of him that exists now is clearly unwilling to be saved, at least by her, and all she can do is accept that and move on. Let go of her guilt, let go of her fears, just... let go. MAYBE her choice to leave the Order spurred him down that path, but maybe it didn't. Maybe Anakin made his own choices based on things entirely unrelated to her. Maybe if she'd been there she could've helped him, but maybe she'd have just been killed with all the rest. She'll never know and she has to come to terms with that before she can move forward with her life. She might've left first, but Anakin left her, too, and he took everything else she loved with him when he did.
In an ideal world, this would lead Ahsoka to do a lot of reflecting on her past with Anakin as she tries to figure out how far back she'd have to go to "save" him and she realizes just how dark he already was when she knew him and ultimately realizes that HE WAS DARK WHEN SHE MET HIM. There were things that happened to him, things he'd probably already chosen to DO, long before she'd met him that were already taking him down the path to darkness, things she'll likely never know or understand. But it allows her to see Anakin so much more truthfully than she'd ever done before. No longer does she view Anakin through the rosy lens of childhood hero worship, she can see how often he struggled with his own darkness and the ways it impacted their relationship, the way it's continuing to impact her NOW.
There were good moments, and she'd loved him, but he was dark long before she knew him and that's something she HAS to accept about him if she's ever going to let him go. There were things Anakin did to her that weren't okay, there were things Anakin taught her that were wrong and caused her to start down her own darker path, and until she can recognize that Anakin FAILED HER, she'll never be able to find her way BACK. She'll never be a Jedi until she acknowledges this very important and vital truth about Anakin and her apprenticeship under him. He WASN'T a good master and he WASN'T a good Jedi. He was sometimes a good PERSON, but he'd ultimately decided to leave that behind, too. He wasn't the person she'd thought he was and unless she wants to become him, she has to acknowledge where he made mistakes so she can keep from making the same ones herself.
So yeah, I think this idea has a LOT of merit and could definitely be a very interesting path to take Ahsoka on!
#star wars#ahsoka tano#anakin critical#anakin skywalker critical#anti anakin#anti anakin skywalker#god i hate ahsoka claiming he was a 'good master' in the ahsoka show#i think there is a difference between ahsoka acknowledging he had goodness in him and they had good MOMENTS#and ahsoka acting like he was genuinely a good MASTER#they aren't the same thing nor do they have to be#she DIDN'T know anakin#she DIDN'T understand him#and a lot of what anakin taught her is what has caused her the most pain#anakin's teachings are what ultimately led her on a path away from the jedi#anakin's teachings are what cause a rift between her and the jedi#personally i feel like instead of having ahsoka apparently thinking only negative things about anakin#and then having to decide no actually he was good#i would've had her go the OPPOSITE direction to follow up on her rebels personality#ahsoka REFUSES to accept the truth about anakin and wants to save him because she doesn't think he'd have ever chosen this#not without some kind of mind control#and on that path she has to recognize that actually anakin wasn't that perfect kind master she'd chosen to see him as#anakin had darkness and attachments and he struggled with it A LOT#and it was anakin's failure that left her floundering#and she'll only be a jedi herself when she can see anakin for WHO HE ACTUALLY WAS#he was selfish and he was greedy and he was irresponsible and insensitive and impatient#he was a bad teacher and until she can acknowledge that she'll always be walking a path AWAY from being a jedi

Light and Sound on The Path (Sant Mat, Radhasoami, Surat Shabd Yoga, The Path of the Masters, Bhakti of the Inner Light and Sound)
Tumblr media
Happy 70th Birthday Baba Ram Singh Ji!
Below is excerpted from a satsang discourse of Baba Ram Singh commenting on verses of the Sar Bachan Radhasoami Poetry of Soami Ji Maharaj, which he often does in satsang.
"Swami Ji Maharaj also is addressing our soul as a hansa, or as a swan, because swans are pure birds and the soul is also pure. He is addressing the soul and He is telling the soul, 'You leave the outward things and leave the water outside and you come within. God Almighty has kept a lot of treasures within. He has kept an ocean of Nectar within. You come and take that.'
"'Saagar ksheer bharaa ghat beethar,
Peevo surat thaani.
Jag ko jaar dhaso nab andhar,
Mandar parakh nishaani.'
"He tells us to come within, but what stops us from going within is our attachment outside to this world. And till we overcome those attachments and entanglements outside, the soul will never be able to withdraw and go inside.
"The Masters give us Simran because that is a means to cut out our entanglements and enable the soul to leave the nine doors and come to the Tenth Door.
"By doing Simran and Dhyan, we will be able to mold our mind and get the gunas, or get the attributes, that are necessary for us to go within. All the Saints Who have gone within in the past, They have all made that effort of doing Their Bhajan Simran, and then They have been able to go within. And all in the future also, will be able to go within only when they make that effort of doing their Bhajan Simran.
"So, that possibility of going within is for everyone who does Bhajan and Simran. And we often delude ourselves, thinking that it is only Mahatmas have done the Bhajan Simran because They were Ready-Made Souls and They could go inside, but we are sinners and we are not able to do this. So, this is the thought of a lazy mind. And if we overcome that and we do our Bhajan Simran, then we will definitely be able to go within.
"Every human being, be it a male or a female, has the capability of going within. We should have that enthusiasm and we should have that commitment to do that meditation and we will definitely be able to go within...."
"'Guru moorath tu dhaar hiye mein,
Man ke sang kyun firat nimaani.
Tera kaaz kare guru poore,
Sun le anahad baani.'
"Swami Ji Maharaj says, 'Your work will be done by a True Master.' And He says, 'Why aren’t you listening to that Anahad Shabd, that Sound Current, which is resonating at the Eye Center?'
"That Holy Sound Current has emanated from God Almighty and It has come down through the planes and is resonating at Eye Center. And from there, it is illuminating this body. And it is having the functionality of this body.
"So, Swami Ji Maharaj says, 'You manifest that Sound Current.'
He says, 'That Satguru Who is going to help you, He is within. You go and manifest that Holy Sound Current, which is His manifestation. And if you manifest that Sound Current, your going back and forth in this ocean of life and death will come to an end.'
-- excerpted from, Till We Overcome Those Attachments And Entanglements Outside, The Soul Will Never Be Able To Withdraw And Go Inside, a 2015 satsang discourse by Baba Ram Singh)

Sant Tulsidas says: "The true teacher is the one who gives knowledge without ignorance, who speaks about Light without darkness, and about the Formless God without the God with forms. That teacher I deem as being true."
Who is worthy to be called a true or accomplished teacher? The true teacher is the one who has transcended the realm of ignorance and darkness and is established in the realm of knowledge and Light. The true teacher having gone beyond the material realm of forms is established in the Formless State of the Infinite (the Divine). The accomplished spiritual teacher, who shows the path to experiencing the Reality, does so, only after testing this knowledge on the touchstone of his/her own personal experience. The knowledge of a true spiritual teacher is not simply based on intellectual knowledge, but also in personal experience.
Sant Kabir Sahab emphatically asserts: "You speak what is written down [intellectual knowledge], and I speak from what I have seen [inner experience]."
Therefore, we need a spiritual guru who will not only be a knowledgeable teacher, but will also be morally sound and actively practicing what he/she teaches.

The Sant Mat Family Tree: Tracing the Lineage of Masters: Where the Spiritual Path Comes From - Spiritual Awakening Radio Podcast
Tumblr media
There is history-based evidence for a Sant Mat family tree dating back many centuries in India, a lineage of spiritual masters existing prior to the time of the Nineteenth Century guru Sant Tulsi Sahib of Hathras:
1) that are ideological soulmates teaching the familiar form of Sant Mat and Surat Shabd Yoga (Inner Light and Sound Meditation);
2) mention all five of the Five Names (sacred names, simran words used in many forms of contemporary Sant Mat);
3) have a special fondness of the term Kal Niranjan (negative power, an eastern term for the Gnostic demiurge);
4) see the Anurag Sagar (Kabir's Ocean of Love) as an essential or central scripture defining the Path during this Kali Yuga age;
5) and that have inherited a version of history that says "Sant Dharam Das was the successor of Kabir" (as opposed to someone else).

Solving the Mystery of Sant Tulsi Sahib's Guru
There was only one contemporary guru who was a living master during the time of Tulsi Sahib that Sant Tulsi Sahib actually named in his hymns and spiritual discourses: Sant Dariya Sahib of Bihar. Sant Dariya and Tulsi's teachings are almost identical, meeting the criteria of the five points listed above. They both even shared a similar physical appearance and manor of dress. So, as Sant Tulsi Sahib was the one contemporary guru named in the Sar Bachan of Soami Ji, and Baba Devi Sahib's name appears in the Padavali of Maharshi Mehi, the one conspicuous contemporary master named and quoted by Sant Tulsi Sahib was Sant Dariya Sahib of Bihar. And Sant Dariya Sahib's guru Sat Saheb was associated with -- branched out from -- the Sant Dharam Das/Kabir line of gurus embodying those five essential ingredients listed above, which I write about with more details in my booklet on the Origins of Sant Mat, The Five Names, and the Identity of Tulsi Sahib’s Guru. My take is that most likely Sant Tulsi Sahib was initiated by Sant Dariya Sahib of Bihar or one of his successors, thus the Sant Mat family tree, the lineage of masters in earlier centuries comes more clearly into view, and we can know more about where this spiritual path called Sant Mat comes from, this Way of the Saints or Sants, the Mystics of the East.
As I've written, I perceive that the lineage goes back to Sant Dharam Das. So I would say an approximate description of the lineage of this Path of the Masters looks something close to this: Satguru Kabir to Sant Dharam Das to Churamani Naam (Dharam Das's son) to Sat Saheb to Dariya Sahib of Bihar (and/or to one of the immediate successors named by Dariya like Fakkar Das, Basti Das, Tika Das, or Guna Das) to Sant Tulsi Sahib of Hathras, to Sant Girdhari Sahib of Lucknow to his successors including Soamiji Maharaj in Agra... up to the living present.
And while not as conveniently organized into a single easy-to-find volume of banis and bhajans such as the Sikh scriptures (Adi Granth, Gurbani), there are writings from these earlier masters of the Sant Mat family tree that have survived, and that I wish to especially be mindful of and explore on future satsang editions of this podcast, spiritual classics such as: the Kabir Sagar volumes, The Bijak and other Kabir literature, Anurag Sagar, Banis of Sat Saheb, Dariya Sagar, Ratan Sagar, Padma Sagar, the Ghat Ramayan and several others.

◉ Hey guys! I think I may have confused some people on how to calculate your life path when there’s master numbers. You don’t add 11, 22, or 33 if that is your TOTAL number you end up with. However if it’s in your birthday then you still would add 1+1 or 2+2 or 3+3!
Example: Alexa Demie’s birthday is December 11, 1990
She’s a life path 6
1+2+1+1+1+9+9 = 24 -> 2+4 = 6
11 is in her birthday but we don’t leave this as a master number unless it’s the TOTAL number
Example 2: Albert Einstein’s birthday is March 14, 1879
He’s a life path 33
3+1+4+1+8+7+9= 33
You leave the number as it is when the TOTAL number is a master number

Numerology 101
Tumblr media
Numerology is the study of the symbolism and significance of numbers, and how they relate to our lives. It is based on the idea that everything in the universe has a vibration, including numbers. By understanding the energy of numbers, we can gain insight into ourselves and the world around us.
In numerology, each number has its own unique energy and meaning. For example, the number 1 is associated with independence, leadership, and innovation. The number 2 is associated with balance, harmony, and diplomacy. The number 3 is associated with creativity, self-expression, and communication.
Through the study of numerology, we can gain insight into our personality traits, life path, and destiny. By understanding the energy of the numbers associated with our name and birthdate, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our purpose in life.
Numerology can also be used to gain insight into relationships, career choices, and major life decisions. By understanding the energy of the numbers associated with these areas of our lives, we can make more informed choices and find greater fulfillment.
Tumblr media
Here's a brief explanation of each concept in numerology:
Life Path Number: The life path number is a core number in numerology that is calculated based on a person's birthdate. It represents the path or journey a person will take in life and is considered the most important number in a person's numerology chart.
To calculate the life path number, you need to add up the digits in a person's birthdate (month, day, and year) and reduce it to a single digit or a master number (11, 22, or 33). For example, if someone was born on September 25, 1985, the calculation would be: 9 (September) + 2 + 5 (day) + 1 + 9 + 8 + 5 (year) = 39, and 3 + 9 = 12. Since 12 is not a master number, we reduce it to a single digit: 1 + 2 = 3. Therefore, the life path number for this person is 3.
Expression Number: The expression number is also known as the destiny number and is calculated based on a person's full name. It represents a person's natural abilities, talents, and potential in life.
To calculate the expression number or destiny number, you need to assign a numerical value to each letter in a person's full name (including middle and last names) and add them up. Then, reduce the number to a single digit or a master number (11, 22, 33, or 44). For example, if someone's name is John Smith, the calculation would be: J (1) + O (6) + H (8) + N (5) + S (1) + M (4) + I (9) + T (2) + H (8) = 44. Since 44 is a master number, we don't reduce it further. Therefore, the expression number or destiny number for this person is 44.
Soul Urge Number: The soul urge number is calculated based on the vowels in a person's full name and represents their innermost desires and motivations in life.
To calculate the soul urge number, you need to assign a numerical value to the vowels in a person's name (excluding the letter "y") and add them up. Then, reduce the number to a single digit or a master number. For example, using the name John Smith again, the calculation would be: O (6) + I (9) = 15, and 1 + 5 = 6. Therefore, the soul urge number for this person is 6.
Personal Year Number: The personal year number is calculated based on a person's birthdate and the current year. It represents the energy and opportunities that will be present in a person's life during a specific year.
To calculate the personal year number, you need to add the digits in a person's birthdate (month and day) to the digits in the current year. Then, reduce the number to a single digit or a master number (11, 22, or 33). For example, if someone was born on July 7th and it's currently the year 2023, the calculation would be: 7 (July) + 7 (day) + 2 + 0 + 2 + 3 (year) = 19, and 1 + 9 = 10. Since 10 is not a master number, we reduce it to a single digit: 1 + 0 = 1. Therefore, the personal year number for this person in 2023 is 1.
Stay tune for more numerology posts.
xoxo
