hello my fellow epileptics and other photosensitive people! there's a game called palia that recently added an event that causes the entire event area to flash whenever someone sets off a big fireworks show, and the game has no flash toggle. i've seen only a few people mention submitting feedback to the devs about it, so if you could write to them and bring more attention to it i would appreciate it so much! the game is otherwise pretty safe (although some people have reported having problems with the light that shows up while mining/chopping trees), but a flash toggle is always good to have.

actually can anyone tell me if its possible for epilepsy to become photosensitive over time? when i got tested and diagnosed i wasnt photosensitive, but ive noticed my epilepsy has been getting worse lately, and flashing does cause me a lot more eyestrain than it used to, but i cant say for sure if the flashing is actually causing seizures bc of the type of seizures i have + their usual frequency. like, if i have one while seeing something flashing, it might just be a coincidence, i cant say for sure.

im going to see a neurologist in a couple weeks so i can bring that up then, but i wanted to ask around the community too especially since google doesnt give me any answers.

hey does anyone know if there's a way to disable the lightning flashes on minecraft??

normally i just sleep through the storms, but i'm on a new multiplayer server with some friends and we can't always all sleep, and the flashing gave me such a bad headache i ended up having to log off.

i couldn't find anything in the core game settings, but maybe there's mods out there somewhere that can do it...

if people could reblog for more people to possibly help that'd be great!

Neurodivergent people going to see Barben-heimer please read!

Today I saw both Oppenheimer and Barbie for my Opa’s birthday (he’s a strange man don’t ask) and I wanted to give a heads up for both movies for having really loud noises and might not be the best for unknowing photosensitive viewers. I highly recommend watching both as they were incredible, however it’s important to know especially if you have sensitivity to sound (Oppenheimer) or bright colors (Barbie). Both are a given considering the subject matter of the amazing films, however I just wanted to give a heads up to everyone, especially Neurodivergent viewers. I also recommend bringing a fidget, mainly a stress ball or squishy, but anything works. It’s 5 hours of movie and if you have a hard time sitting down it’s a huge help.
