Oh absolutely! Sorry if howdy is ooc, (out of character) I'm abit rusty, I haven't written anything in a good while :)

Howdy pillar with a reader/ s\o that just came into the neighbourhood [headcanons]

Let's say after you came into town, wally gave you a tour and introduced you to everyone.

Howdy is kind fellow, probably always doing something in his shop (I think its a shop..)

Howdy is more then happy to help you out with anything, be it huge boxes, furniture, getting utensils in the right place, etc

Howdy is pretty organised and with his multiple legs & arms, he can be both fast and helpful.

Nicknames!

He may call you newbie but in an endearing way!

Please come by his shop often, he really likes seeing you!

Howdy WILL invite you to anything, (if the other person is okay with it)

Howdy likes seeing you smile, it makes him feel happy when you are fitting right in!

No matter how introverted or extroverted you are, howdy will always invite you to hang outs

howdy will always be there for you,

Howdy would probably give you secret discounts ( and stuff like "buy one get 5 free")

Best hugs

If you ever feel homesick about your old place, howdy is always ready to make you a cup of tea and get you some blankets

He likes to bring things from his store to decorate your home

He loves helping you decorating or moving furniture

Howdy Pillar x Reader who worked a terrible minimum wage job

★ Howdy really grateful for your help around the bodega. You are a really herd worker and in his words you "Leave it in the field each day."

★ When you offhandedly talk about your old job he feels really bad for you. You got a total of 20 minutes off as a break during a 8 hour shift? That just feels wrong to him. No, adding your lunch break doesn't make him feel better.

★ While we're on the subject of lunches, Howdy makes you something to eat when you forget to bring lunch or didn't have time to make it. Very important. Y/n must be fed three times a day. No exceptions.

★ He makes an effort to keep you happy and comfortable while working with him. Very respectful of your boundaries, if you say you don't want/cannot work a certain day then it's basically set in stone that you will not work that day.

How Welcome Home characters would react if you asked them to hold your drink:

Wally: He does not respond. He just stares at the drink. Then, suddenly the drink vanishes from your hand. You make a mental note not to ask him to hold your drink ever again.

Barnaby: “Sure, neighbor” He says, and takes your drink. You walk away, but out of the corner of your eye you see him juggling it, along with 4 or 5 other drinks. Your drink is as good as lost.

Julie: She’s really excited that you’re trusting her with this responsibility. She waves to you as you glance back to see if she is still holding it. But then someone asks her to play a party game and she has put it down. You pick your drink up. She notices and says “I’m sorry, I was distracted”. “No worries” You say through gritted teeth.

Frank Frankly: “Okay” He says as you hand the drink to him. You take it back from him, however, as he doesn’t seem too happy about holding it.

Eddie Dear: He happily agrees, but after you hand it to him he starts talking and talking and talking and you weren’t planning to have a conversation you just wanted to put your drink down for a second and now he won’t stop talking.

Howdy Pillar: With so many hands, you’d think he’d be the perfect person to hold a drink for you. But that actually makes him the worst person. You see, with so many drinks in each hand he doesn’t know whose is whose and after you give him your drink he immediately takes a sip before frantically apologizing and offering to get you another one, along with a fresh apple from his orchard.

Sally Starlet: “Never fear, the great and talented Sally Starlet is here and she won’t let you down!

She lets you down. As she pumps her fist in the air to add a dramatic flourish, your drink flies out of her hand and across the room, splashing an unlucky guest in the face.

Poppy Partridge: You thought about approaching her, but as she sees you walk toward her she immediately starts crying so you decide to go ask someone else.

Home: You didn’t even ask them. You were talking to someone else and then all of a sudden you hear “BANG! CLACK! CREAK”

In conclusion, do not trust any Welcome Home character with your drink.

this man gives the most amazing hugs and he’s happy to hold onto you for as long as you need since his extra arms allow him to multitask

before you two were an item he used to slip up and refer to you as his ‘partner’ a lot when talking to the other neighbours — it got so bad that they knew you were going to be a thing before you did

always happy to lend a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on whenever there’s something bothering you — he’s also excellent at finding solutions if you need him to

makes sure that your favourite foods are always in stock, even preemptively ordering if he has a feeling you’re running low

he is surprisingly strong and is more than capable of picking you up and/or carrying you about if you need to reach something or if you need a break and are refusing to take it

you’ve always been his favourite customer so you get the best deals from him (don’t tell wally)

he’s the first to volunteer whenever you need a helping hand (or four) and will be there for you whenever he can be

whether that’s helping you rearrange your home, prepare for visitors, visit out of town to fetch something for a neighbour or so on

yours is the only number he has dedicated to memory (the others he keeps on a sticky note beside the phone) and he makes sure to call you every night for a good, old fashioned chat

he keeps the first picture you took together as a couple in his wallet so he always has something to make him smile whenever he’s feeling down

(or, alternatively, to stop him from smacking that tiny apple thief upside the head — you have to pay first wally!)

whenever he’s had a particularly difficult day, when his shift is over he’ll seek you out and kinda just collapse onto you, kneeling between your legs and just hugging you as he lets out this heavy sigh

the best way to help him de-stress is to massage his scalp and shoulders — the poor thing really needs a spa day, but the store won’t run itself

if you offer to help him run his store he’ll smile at you and just shake his head — he’s got this, he promises — but if you’re especially insistent he’ll be really flattered and just send you to run some errands

these errands usually involve helping eddie with deliveries or unboxing orders from out of town

he uses a lot of traditional nicknames with you (think ‘honey’ or ‘sweetheart’) alongside some nicknames based on inside jokes — which depends on the specifics of your relationship

he keeps some of your favourite sweet treats in the pocket of his apron so he’s always prepared to cheer you up when you’re upset

- esidisi prob wouldn’t know how to give affection very much at first

- his s/o would have to show him the ropes for everything, but he’s a quick learner!

- acts of service is defo his love language (and he likes to show off)

- oh the couch is too heavy for you to move? he’s holding it above his head asking you where you want it

- not huge on PDA but in private will maintain some kind of physical contact with you at all times, even if it’s just sitting leg to leg

- likes to play with his s/o’s hair!

OKAY so what about howdy with a partner who can get very skittish at times

ILY TOO ANON- anyways sure, but I'm sorry if howdy is ooc (out of character) , I haven't written anything in a while :)

Howdy pillar with a s/o who is very skittish at times

He kinda finds it adorable

You are more then welcome to hold and fidget with any of his arms!

He has fidget toys and anything like that in his shop , but he mostly carries some for you

( fidget toys or adhd toys are for, well adhd but anyone can enjoy them and it helps people with anxiety calm down)

Anything that frightened you or made you skittish is now thrown out the door!

(He may or may not throw wally out IF he's the reason your scared, wally can be..very frightening)

He has a soothing voice so if you want, he can sing lullabies to you so you can calm down :)

He CAN and WILL dropkick anything that scares you. He has multiple legs for a reason.

There's a room in his store that's just filled with just blankets, pillows, fidget toys, sensory toys, weighted blankets, some of your favourite snacks, quite literally anything that may help you

(Said room may have a nintendo.)

Any comfort snacks that help you calm down? Howdys always holding on to them now :)

If you just need a hug, he can carry you with his arms, and continue whatever he was doing with his other arms

If you suddenly get skittish, he will immediately escort you out of wherever you are, and try to comfort you

He always checks up on you
