hc that jason todd loves 90s romcom movies. The fairy tale ending and the simplicity of it all is 100% one of his guilty pleasures.
i feel like You’ve Got Mail is def one of his favorites. the references to pride and prejudice sold him on it. sure, he doesn’t like how Joe put Christine out of business, fuck late stage capitalism, but still.
Roy def showed up at (broke into) one of his safe houses while Jason was watching 4 Weddings and a Funeral and it went like :
Jason, sobbing during the funeral scene : What the fuck are you doing here.
Roy, already taking a photo for blackmail : Why the fuck are you crying.
Jason : I’m watching four weddings and a funeral.
Roy : What the hell is that.
Jason, already rewinding : Sit your ass down.
-Later-
Roy, sobbing violently during the funeral scene : He was his song, dude!
Jason, also sobbing violently despite having seen this movie hundreds of times : This scene never gets any easier.
Roy : We will never speak of this.
Jason : Speak on it and your body will end up in the river.
Roy : Agreed. Now shut up the movie is going.
also dick 100% watches the movies with him. they also both watch 10 things I hate about you and sob.

Beging for your Take on Rudolpho in a regency AU. I love my man, I love your AU, I love your writing style !
In this space that is your blog I'm full of love.
Another man in uniform, charming in a quiet way. People are drawn to him, to the accent and the way his eyes smile. He's a commanding presence, but you don't think anyone else has noticed. You have. The way he pulls people in and holds them there is magnetic. You hear women titter about his calm charisma, his well mannered and easy laughter. You think they fail to mention the pressure he carries with him, the proud set of his shoulders, the well practiced scan of his eyes. As if anyone in the room could be a threat to him, a man in uniform who can't turn his vigilance off.
Still, you have to admit he's quite handsome. It's all those same cool dangers that keep drawing your eye back to him. You wonder what he must be like when he's mad, if he ever allows himself to get mad. He strikes you as a man in control of himself, but... he's still a man. Men are always weak to something.
"You're here without an escort."
You look up from trying to identify the next name scrawled on your dance card. It's not a voice you're familiar with, but with the accent you hardly need to guess. You smile politely at the man of the hour.
"Sergeant Major Parra," You give a short curtsy, he nods his head, neither of you affording more than the necessary greeting for a stranger.
"Rodolfo," He corrects you. You shake your head.
"Forgive me, but I don't believe we're familiar enough for first names." He hardly seems to hear you, taking your hand to inspect the dance card around your wrist.
"No," He relents, "but I would like to be." He mumbles something to himself in Spanish, the roll of each word against his tongue making you curious. It's short, only for his own benefit, but you feel like you're missing a joke. He meets your eye and holds out his hand for your pencil. You watch as he pencils his name in to the last two slots on your card.
"Not eager to pass me off to another man?" You joke. Most men space their timing out unless they're particularly jealous, but you hadn't gotten that vibe from the Sergeant Major.
"You're too pretty to be that smart," Rodolfo hums, just barely smiling, "A me hermano le vas a gustar."
You want to ask what he means, the low tremor of his voice making your chest feel warmer than the heat in his dark eyes, but he hands you your pencil back and turns you to face your next conversation partner. His hand is a firm presence low on your back, pushing to you forward without waiting for your answer. It's more words than you'd heard anyone get out of Rodolfo all evening, you can't leave the conversation now. He doesn't give you the choice.
When you turn to find him again, he's standing with a man similarly uniformed. Both of them seem to feel your stare, their eyes darting to yours. The unfamiliar man smiles and Rodolfo leans closer to whisper something, you look away quickly. Never have you felt so much like a deer caught in a hunter's crosshairs. Though, you do wonder which of them is the hunter, and which is the dog chasing you into their trap.

(1889)
Dream: You dare--
Hob, launching into Spike's speech from Cowboy Bebop: I love the kind of man that will actually just kill me. You know, when I left my house today, I was thinking, "Damn, I really hope my Stranger paints my brains all over the White Horse Tavern." And here we are. I mean, really, just absolutely destroy me. (the speech escalates from here and goes on for like 45 seconds more)
Dream, riveted from beginning to end, and who is actually into that shit: *is now looking at Hob like he did in 1789*
Hob, a morosexual in love with a morosexual: Now that that's over with, can you please sit back down so I can tell you how much I want to kiss you tenderly under the moonlight?

I do kinda love the thought that it was Lucifer that kept Sam alive in Red Meat because truly what better way to show the levels of possession both Dean and Lucifer feel like they have over him. Sam can't die until either of them let him and they just won't let him.

Talking a little bit about 'boycotting Eurovision' under Keep Reading, feel free to scroll down if is not what you want to see.
The most used argument on the matter of banning Israel from Eurovision is the fact that Russia got banned from Eurovision, which is the worst argument anyone could bring.
Kindly reminder that Russia didn't get banned because of the war with Ukraine. Russia got banned because many countries has threatened to withdraw from the competition. Sadly, that's a big difference.
Yes, the countries has threatened to withdraw because they support Ukraine and see Russia as the party in the wrong. That was their reason. EBU's reason for banning Russian was because those countries threatened to withdraw, not because the war was bad and Russia must be stopped.
This situation isn't the same. Why? Because many countries support Israel in their genocide. Because this time around Palestine is the party in the wrong. Because we're taught to believe that Israel isn't in the wrong here.**
Boycotting Eurovision won't work. There are people out there who don't know the truth and want to watch Eurovision. There are people out there who don't care and will watch Eurovision regardless of the situation. There are people out there who, despite having the facts, still don't see Israel as the bad guy in this situation and will watch Eurovision. Sadly, boycotting won't work unless everyone does it.
The only way Israel will get banned, in my opinion, is by going through the same thing as Russia. If other countries threatened to withdraw- and not any countries, but the ones investing the most in Eurovision, then yes. That will get Israel banned.
Otherwise? The only thing we do is hurt artists that don't deserve it. Artists who use Eurovision as a way to get more exposure and experience. Artists who deserve to be heard.
Don't vote for Israel's entry. Don't stream their song either. Heck, turn off the TV when is their turn to perform.
**This whole situation (the war, not Eurovision) isn't only black and white. Civilians die daily because of this, all of them from both sides. Innocent people who has no fault. Let's not forget that
#Honestly I'm tired of the whole 'Russia got banned Israel should be banned too' speech because is truly bullshit#It has nothing to do with the war per se. It was because countries were unwilling to participate in support for Ukraine#If the whole situation was truly political then other countries wouldn't be able to participate either#Is it fair? No. But that's the situation#Alas Eurovision exist so we forget about the bad in the world for a bit and be more united. Have some fun. Stuff like that#I'm going to get so much hate over this omg. But this is just my opinion/point of view on the matter#Sadly this whole situation isn't even about helping the innocent put in danger by this situation. Is about hate like everything else#My wording is so shitty but people on the internet don't understand shit unless I call 'X bad Y good' so we go with that#eurovision 2024#Also another reminder that THE WHOLE AUDIENCE chanted 'Cha Cha Cha' during eurovision 2023 and were rotting for Finland to win just to lose#Many entries got fucked up by the jury votes too. Our opinion doesn't matter as much as some of you might think lol#Jury votes GOT CHANGED during another eurovision under shitty reasons (I can't remember which year but there were 5 or 6 countries who got#their votes changed). Eurovision has never been fair#We always get annoyed over it and trash talk it then watch it the next year#Also this is not the same as boycotting brands and shit like that who support Israel. No money go from Eurovision to Israel.#This competition as far as I am aware (please correct me if I'm wrong) doesn't support Israel in any way#Be it financially or by donating arms or any other way#Their only fault is for allowing Israel to participate. That's all#Weapons* don't ask me why I said arms instead sorry#i'm tired lol#Fair warning I won't answer any replies to this post

Okay I'm having more thoughts about Andor episode 7.
During this episode Mon Mothma makes reference in a conversation with an old friend that she's been attending Separatist Coalition meetings. Was Mon Mothma a Separatist? Palpatine's entire rise to power was precipitated upon the Separatist Crisis and the resulting Clone Wars, but from the way it sounds, it doesn't seem like the Separatist Coalition was an illegal organization so much as an organization to be infiltrated and monitored.
I'm fascinated by this. I've always been intrigued by Separatist ideology in Star Wars and curious about its roots and development (beyond Dooku's speeches). Maybe there were separate (ha!) schools of Separatist thought, and Dooku's was merely the largest and most influential. I'm curious if we'll get more on this in the rest of the episodes (especially since we already have the... weirdness of the Separatist-ship-that's-actually-a-Republic-ship in Cassian's backstory in the first three episodes).

too many people say it's impossible to recommend bat boy: the musical bc of it's themes
this is incorrect and cowardly. bat boy: the musical is a tragic story wrapped up in a killer soundtrack. kill the christian republican in your mind. you can recommend everything forever. and bat boy is too good to keep it from people.

Look… if you’re going to be dedicated to activism that comes with dedicating yourself to educating yourself and your community… which Malcolm X pretty infamously found out (and fulfilling that part of the job may have been the cause of his assassination)
If you can’t take that seriously, people aren’t going to take your activism seriously. And maybe activism isn’t for you! And that’s okay!

i'm watching exu: calamity for the third fucking time and i am once again absolutely insane about these fucking characters. laerryn coramar-seelie and loquatius seelie. their whole fucking divorced-in-love mess. zerxus ilerez and his damn prophetic visions. babe what horrors do u dream of now? patia motherfucking por'co. her memory loss payroll. her list of .. "friends with bad memory" . that was fucking crazy to hear the first time and on the third i'm still reeling. nydas okiro, i cant even begin with him . he was a pirate. he lived what could only be a pirate's dream, the guildmaster of a dragon's hoard, a dragon whom he can summon and command at will. his friend's son lives with his brother and family. he puts people on patia's payroll, both conjoined in secrets, but that's not only it. he was described as holding spinning plates at all times. he was laerryn's partner and confidant on her life's work. cerrit agrupnin. the father who got his children out of an apocalyptic catastrophe. the father who kept his promise to be with them. by sheer luck or by fate's design, by the strength of his virtue and love and a father's promise. of all that he could not and did not keep, the one most important. he was an investigator so adept at his job that invisibility could not keep a person hidden from his sight. he had a ring to detect lies. he had a ring. to detect lies. loquatius . the fey who fell in love with a mortal. the reporter who spoke to the people at the end of their lives and his own and called for them to stay. to do their duty, keep their promise. no officials get to leave the people they're supposed to protect and speak for behind. and no one shall forget the most beautiful woman in the world, laerryn coramar-seelie. the woman who, in secret, strived to give her husband and her friends and her heart, her avalir, an option. the choice, to rise above and beyond. to seek the knowledge of realms and stars and all that they could ever achieve. a future so bright it was blinding. a goal so lofty, a dream so wistful. a path tread almost completely alone. and in that, history and mistrust. the gau drashari who expected the wizards to not keep their word, and thus created the circumstance in which the wizards did not know the importance of the tree of names and saw it only as a limitation. because that's all it appeared to be. and zerxus. the godless. champion of a deity-less divinity. oracle who saw visions of the lord of the hells. he saw the lord of the hells, hurting and injured. and in that being he saw redemption and a path to healing. he faced asmodeus and straight up said "oh you poor thing" afsgsjdkfkflflflgl he looked at a god and held nothing but pity for him upon seeing that he could not be redeemed. that there was such deep hatred. he was killed and revived over and over by this god. the god that he brought through into the world. . . the por'co legacy. patia, who in the end gifted her knowledge of everything truly Everything to a young maya agrupnin. and what of young kir and maya? celebrations and festivities, the anticipation of seeing their father. maya snuck out to a party to meet a girl and drink alcohol she doesn't even like, tailed by her brother who mirrored their father. kir, junior investigator, because of him, cerrit thankfully did not have to track down maya in panic. kir who received a message from his father to gather at their home. and then their father sent them away, to safety. 2/3rds of the world met calamity. how must it have felt to be a young child, everything you knew ending and dying. fuck man. that's not even everything i could fucking say about all of this i havent even broached the lord of the hells and the plot and the depth of patia's complexity with memory and knowledge and laerryn and loquatius and their open jabs and silent acts of devotion and love, zerxus and cerrit and their opposing and paralleled paths of fatherhood, nydas' and zerxus and cerrit. protectors. laerryn and patia. visionaries. loquatius. truth and hope and home.
