Day 30: We Are Behind You

(personal ramblings under cut)

Whew September is already over :,) I would've loved to do some more prompts for the challenge this month, but life got a bit busy - got sick, started a voluntary social year. Def very happy to have had the time to do some illustrations :)

It's been almost two years since I've worked so intensly on some digital art. The challenge really helped get me more comfortable with working on a tablet again, digital art in general, and... actually finishing a project for once.

And posting on social media again after a long break :) It was really nice to see what everyone else was coming up with!

The thumbnails for the prompts were made at the end of August, all prepared before it got busy, sooo I might just do some more art for the challenge at a later point. after having a little rest of course. :)

I know a lot of people's reaction to the Powers that Be revelation was anger and frustration (totally understandable) but I just love them. I am sad for them and i grieve with them. Two children processing their grief through a game. Them trying both to express their grief at losing a close relative but also giving gravity to their death. Simon's and Isisdor's deaths are the beginning of all the fucked stuff. A child who goes through the death of a relative that was important might think that the death didn't have enough of an impact because as adults we have the tendency to attempt to grieve a sensible societaly normal amount. And the normal amount to grieve an older relative is very little because you should have expected their death. It is very confusing and hard for a kid. In addition, I think Simon being immortal and then dying is a representation of their feelings of a relative that seemed invisible and immortal dying. I just want to hug them.

RPG Art Commission Request

Not exactly sure where to start with this.

I'd like to request a piece of art to use for a horror-themed magic/religion/history campaign I'm running. The figure would be humanoid, with body horror. Monochrome line art is great, but I'm not locked into that medium. (I have a concept of torn photo collages making up the art to highlight the incongruence of its presence, as the entity is extraplanar, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.)

Followers and passers-by, where would you suggest I start looking? I don't have a huge budget, but do have time - the campaign won't meet this entity for months yet. I don't necessarily want to hit up fiver or similar sites for this work - I know folks who have been given stolen or AI work in response. If anyone knows a visual artist looking for commission work please link them or let me know their site and I'll reach out.

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

Time Well Spent

I just spent the entirety of my free time between work, cleaning, and meals to bullshit my way through the descriptions of completely fabricated languages for my D&D campaign. I'm now at page 19 of a primer that perhaps five people will see. The entire experience has been unimaginably satisfying.
