So I lined and re-coloured that elf design I did! As an NPC, his name is Wihlin and he works at the University, but here are some elf facts:

Like an owl, they cannot move their eyes and must move their entire heads

Very tall. Like, easily 7' tall

They can't fly naturally, but they often float instead of walking to burn away excess mana

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is to the elves as nearsightedness is to humans. Decorative finger braces are just as common as eyeglasses, and can be very fashionable!

Culturally very xenophobic. All elves born in the Shiiv are marked with a rune under their tongue that prevents them from sharing information about the country with outsiders.

The goblins probably have some of my favourite designs for this project :3c This girl doesn't have a name, but she's probably in charge or affiliated with one of the goblin crime groups that you can find in Herrinhoff.

Goblin facts:

Completely hairless, but they do have peach fuzz and wronkles like sphynx cats do

The bloodline as a whole is kind of stuck in this mindset of "if everyone wants to see us as bad, then that's what they're going to get" so a lot of goblins purposefully perpetuate stereotypes out of spite. There are plenty of goblins who are trying to redeem the bloodline's name, though!

They love fire, lightning, and explosions. Goblin mages with those skills are highly respected in their circles.

They also love shinies! But who doesn't, right?

Some cats! Jasper (left) and Lynwell (right) are brother from the Dragon's Yolk and a member of an ethno-religion known as the Bas'sekh, who tend to be very anti-magic. Jasper's a weirdo tho because he was born with magic anyways, so he came to Herrinhoff with his brother to learn more about magic at the University but to also look for their missing sisters

They end up becoming Aurelia's first friends at the University and show her around the city a little bit (I'll have to do a littol comic about it at some point)

I wasn't really happy with them, so I ended up changing the orcs quite a bit and I think they turned out pretty good :3c Here's some orc facts:

They are two major types of orcs: Voth orcs, who have pretty well integrated with the Inuit peoples up north, and Kerith orcs, who are restless conquerers

They range from white to dark brown to nearly black, with rarer golden morphs, but have green blood

They shared their plane with the bovin, but tend to have mixed feelings about each other

They've domesticated and ride woolly rhinoceros

In the summers, they shed their winter coats and sometimes become darker

They practice scarification--Kerith orcs use that to indicate work roles, which operate somewhat like genders as well

So I'm completely obsessed with this little bakery I came up with for Priscilliam owned by a family of little mice people known as kui, so I'mma share the notes I made about them because if you think a bunch of mice running a bakery sounds cute you are Incorrect

Kraken’s Cookies

A bakery owned by a family of kui, founded by a kui known as Kraken. Both the shop and the name have been passed on from generation to generation, but the latest generation of three daughters—none of which are named Kraken—leaves the future of the bakery a little uncertain.

They occasionally deal in secrets.

MEMBERS

Kraken III

The old ass owner of the shop. A little over twenty years old, he’s practically on death’s doorstep, and his daughters have been eyeing the spot he’ll be vacating for years now. Has a legendary temper and also a significant amount of dementia.

Cleopatra

The oldest daughter, and the one with the plan. She’s confident that she’ll be the one inheriting the shop, and has already drawn up plans for where to take it next—plans that Maria does not agree with. She’s also a daddy’s girl, and probably Kraken’s favourite.

Kelpie

The middle daughter, and probably the least ambitious. At best, Kelpie wants to own the shop to rake in the money and let others do the management for her. She rightfully thinks her two sisters are Fucking Insane. Also suspects that Cleo killed their mom to have all their dad’s attention to herself.

Santa Maria

The youngest daughter, but easily the most ambitious of the three. Maria wants to seek out the city’s vampire, Jack, and have him turn her so that she can not only take over the shop, but take it over forever. Also she hates Cleo on principle because she’s pretty sure she slept with her husband (who has since Mysteriously Disappeared).

Priscilliam (Overview)

admittedly i'm a little nervous to do this cus i haven't in a while, but i feel better talking about it once there's a little bit of context if you guys want it

So Priscilliam is an alternate Earth where in the modern day (20xx, the specific date doesn't matter) a large, mysterious forest appears in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, growing from the bottom of the ocean along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (you need to understand these trees are wicked huge).

And then it starts to spread. Outwards from the MAR, it displaces the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, causing flooding worldwide. After about a year of vain attempts to stop the Deep Woods from spreading, the trees finally reach the shores.

A wash of magic covers the Earth and droves of elves, dwarves, and other bloodlines march from the Woods. The landscape of the world changes as veins of mana dry up natural gas and oil reserves and random chunks of land go missing, transposed with pieces from other planes--and bringing their residents with them.

This triggers a war because no one knows what the hell is going on and also humans who never had magic before are gaining it as it's re-introduced into the world. The Priscilliam War wages on and off for twenty or so years, until the Priscilliam Councils are formed--representing the various planes and bloodlines now inhabiting the Earth--and bringing a modicum of peace.

The setting I've been toying with takes place about 30, 40 years after the Priscilliam War in a city known as Port Herrinhoff. It's a cultural mixing pot of several different peoples (and pieces of planes!) that's created this patchwork city-state area with a very, uh...laissez-faire take on law and regulation.

And...that's where I'm at with it so far! I've got several different characters, places, plotlines, etc. for it that I wanna introduce over the next little while, but this will do for now.
