My version of Professor Thumbelina Peach.
Listen: I could've made her a human, but this idea lodged itself in my brain, and it won't go away. I think faunus sizes should also be affected by animal.
I'm aware of the rwby limited palet rule but once more I got this idea of her having printed overalls in my head. I can always go back and make them solid brown if need be.
I also have this idea in my head of her weapon being a bazooka she keeps in her pocket that can twist into Tonfa's.

On the one hand, I get why Professor Thumbelina Peach teaches plant sciences.
On the other, having the one Beacon Professor who is mentioned in the show but never seen teach stealth would've been freaking hilarious.
That's the thing. She does teach elite stealth. You just never noticed her :)

Peach's Implausible Burgers
Author's Note: This story leads on from The Hunger and A Flowering Appetite, so reading those might help understand a few things, but I think it works fine as a standalone thing (but if you did read those and maybe fave or comment on them, I'd hella appreciate it)
“Okay, gotta get this right, or I’m definitely going to be fired,” Professor Peach mumbled to herself, a hint of concern in her reddish-pink eyes. In front of her, she was moulding together a large number of plant-based burger patties. They looked mostly like regular meat patties, nothing making it look particularly like it wasn’t made of meat. “Alright, alright, those look nice. Thank goodness some of the students are back from their holidays, or maybe they didn’t leave, I don’t know. Maybe this wasn’t the best thing to be testing on myself,” Peach rambled as she wiped her hands off on a paper towel, before patting her belly.
Since Professor Peach wasn’t teaching at the moment, she had ditched her lab coat and gloves and just had her black dress and long boots on. However, she was carrying a couple dozen extra kilos on her, so she was sporting a decently sized doughy belly, her rear was a fair bit plumper than usual and her thighs were being squished as they came out the top of her boots. With her dress being so short already, Peach found herself tugging it down almost constantly in order to keep herself decent. She was just lucky that her dress was so stretchy, otherwise a size-up would be more urgently needed. Still, she had bigger concerns at the moment. Specifically, she was working on the first plant-based burger patty in Remnant that was meant to be indistinguishable from a meat patty in every perceivable way.
“Right, now let’s get some people in,” she muttered as she tapped up an invite on her Scroll to try her burgers, before sending it to 5 random students. She then put her Scroll aside and got to cooking her burgers.
A little while later, the invited girls all arrived in Professor Peach’s classroom and took a seat around a table with a cloth covering a pile of something. It being the only table not covered in plants made it special enough, but the cloth raised a few eyebrows.
“Ooh, I wonder what’s under there. I bet it’s food,” Nora commented.
“I hope it’s food,” Blake added.
“That makes sense, you have been eating more lately,” Weiss commented. Blake suddenly felt a little bit self-conscious about the tiny hint of a muffin top she was sporting nowadays and sucked in her gut.
“Yeah, but I bet you can’t eat as much as me!” Nora bragged, eyeing up Blake.
“Let’s not turn this into a competition, Nora. Remember last time Blake ate a lot?” Pyrrha whispered to Nora. That was when Professor Peach came back in with a tray of burgers, her appearing causing a few wide eyes of shock pointed at her.
“Oh, great, you’re all here, a little bit early too, very good. Now, I’ve got burgers for all of you, have as many as you want.” She lifted the cloth to show the mountain of burgers she had made earlier, adding the fresh ones she had just made to the stack.
As the girls began to eat the burgers, Peach had decided to take a few of them stacked in a little pyramid shape on a cart and carefully rolled the cart back to the kitchen, leaving the five girls to feast as she recalled a small conversation she had had with her good friend and colleague, Professor Goodwitch, not that long ago too.
---
[Two weeks earlier]
"Thumbelina, why are your plants all over the kitchen?!" A strict yet calm feminine voice spoke out as the woman poked her clearly doughty belly making the sleepy professor jolt awake as she looked around and stumbled upon her words.
"Gak! I wasn't day-dreaming…'' Professor Peach then looked at the cross-looking blonde, Glynda Goodwitch, who was keeping a safe distance from the array of blue and black flowers that Peach had set up in the staff kitchen. "Oh hello there Glynda, I was, um, testing out a theory," the professor said as she slowly got up. "Remember when team RWBY accidentally discovered that plant which made their bellies expand."
“All too well. I could hear the commotion in the cafeteria from my office,” Goodwitch complained.
“Well, I have been testing its properties and I wanted to see how it worked and, more importantly whether its properties can be transferred to food to make it more appetising. I thought it would help us sell more burgers and make more money for the Academy during the Vytal festival,” Peach quickly explained, her quick voice being her normal voice rather than her panicked, barely awake one. There was a comment that Goodwitch could have made regarding Peach’s current appearance, but that seemed, perhaps, too rude.
“Well… just make sure you’re experimenting carefully. You don’t want it to be too appealing,” Goodwitch warned. Even though Goodwitch was trying to avoid directly addressing the issue, Peach did pick up on Glynda’s messages, both the spoken and unspoken ones.
“R-right, right. I’ll be careful. Wouldn’t want you to have to roll me out of here,” Peach sheepishly agreed.
“Oh, and please, save me some burgers to try out. I’ve never been much for fast food, but I’m sure you can pull it off.”
---
With Professor Goodwitch’s warnings ringing in her ears, Peach quietly hoped that she had gotten it right this time, and that no one was going to have to be rolled out.
Unfortunately, what was happening back in the classroom was proving that wrong. Burgers were almost literally flying off the carts and into the girls’ mouths. They were tearing through the stack of burgers at a lightning quick pace. To make matters worse, this massive amount of calories was hitting the girls all at once. They were all ballooning up before their very eyes, but they were all so hungry and enjoying the burgers so much that they didn’t even notice what was happening to them.
Blake’s recent gluttony encouraged her to eat the most of all the girls, and it certainly showed as she became the biggest of the girls. Her belly took on the lion’s share of the fat at first, billowing forwards and pushing every button out of the way on its way to freedom as it spilled out onto her lap. Her shorts and top grew incredibly tight as her breasts bloomed and her rear plumped up, catching up with her belly and giving her a larger all-over size. But, unbeknownst to everyone else, Blake had swapped to a stretchier top and shorts, with only her vest being the same as usual. This meant that her increasingly regular binges did not carry a risk of her bursting out of her clothes, even now, as she tripled her starting weight.
Weiss was not far behind in terms of size, as her previous exposure to both The Hunger and the flowers had given her a larger appetite, only she had more self-control around food than Blake, keeping Weiss at her original size without any weight gained. Of course, all that self-control had gone out the window the moment the first burger passed her lips. Before long, plenty of burgers joined that first one, and all of it piled up, making rolls and rolls of fat, straining her top to its limit. It also gave her a ballooning behind, growing large enough that it made her appear to be taller than before, when it was just the extra padding pushing her up. With her widening hips and thickening thighs joining her rear in its growth, her combat skirt was not able to do very much to keep her decent.
Meanwhile, the JNPR girls were also indulging, though not to the same extent that Blake and Weiss were.
Being the most top-heavy to begin with, it was no surprise that Pyrrha remained the most top-heavy as she gained weight. Her increasingly large breasts spilled over her armoured corset, while being pushed up by the corset enough to make them look even larger than they already were. Her comparatively modest belly pushed up against the corset that was keeping it looking so small compared to the other girls, untying the knots that were keeping her corset snug. There was also the generous additions to her rear and thighs, not to the degree that the others had, but still very noticeable by anyone not caught in a gluttonous trance. Fortunately, her miniskirt and shorts were elastic enough to contain her growing lower body, even if the seams were starting to groan and sound like they were ready to give out. Pyrrha’s gains gave her a somewhat hourglass shape, if the hourglass was much larger up top.
Nora, on the other hand, was basically the opposite. Sure, her chest was far from lacking as it filled and stretched out her top, and her rear and thighs were getting nice and plump, but her belly was surging forward with no signs of stopping. The round, doughy mass of a belly ploughed through her vest and escaped, sitting heavily on her lap, spilling over the sides and down over her knees. In terms of sheer size, Nora’s belly was probably only marginally larger than Blake’s, but it looked even larger, as Blake’s gains were more balanced, so she was larger all over, meanwhile Nora’s belly had picked up the vast majority of the fat, so it seemed proportionally bigger than Blake’s.
Without a doubt, this burger binge had made the four girls massively fat. Yet, somehow, the girls had not noticed, as the extracts of the mysterious flower had increased their appetites and stomach capacities while making them singularly focused on eating. Unfortunately, this was exactly what Peach was hoping to avoid.
In the other room, Peach and Goodwitch had worked through their modest pile of burgers. Not having eaten as much as the girls in the classroom, they had not ballooned to such massive weights. Of course, it was too late for Peach to stay slim, and it was too late for Goodwitch too, as after her first taste of Peach’s plant burgers, she was hooked. It was why Goodwitch was now permanently sporting a big, round belly that she knew was going to lead to questions about whether she was pregnant or not, especially since the rest of her was so slim in comparison, not that she was particularly slim nowadays.
“Mmm, Thumbelina, you’ve done it again,” Glynda said, patting her belly, before a long belch rumbled out. “Oof, that’s better.”
“Here’s hoping the girls liked it as much as you did,” Professor Peach said with a smile. “We better check in on them.”
“Especially if they’ve ended up like us,” Goodwitch added, grabbing her fat gut and shaking it to emphasise her point.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure it’s fine. If it’s the problem I had before, then it should be temporary as long as they’re not having the burgers too often,” Peach explained, before leading her colleague out into the classroom. What she saw in there made her jaw drop. The four girls were massive, bigger than Peach had ever accidentally made herself, the groaning from the girls matching their groaning overloaded chairs and groaning stretched out clothes. ‘Oh crap, I’m so fired,’ she thought, bracing for impact from Glynda.
“Oh dear,” Professor Goodwitch started.
“W-wait, Glynda, I-I can fix this…”
“Thumbelina, relax,” Glynda interrupted before Peach could really start to spiral into apologies. “I’m sure you can fix this. Also, this shows that your burgers must be very good. I’m certain that these will be very profitable at the Vytal Festival,” Glynda reassured.
“Right. Right. I’ll just need new test subjects. I don’t think these four would like to stay fat,” Peach commented. “But I’ve got this, I’m sure of it.”

Kid Zwei: So Taiyang, how do you feel about Thumbelina joining you all during Zwei’s birthday? You two moving along good?
Taiyang:Yeah. I think it's going good. I was surprised she volunteered to do Zwei's party, but she did great! At least that what I think.

4. nothings and somethings
Tumblr media
🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬
Margot was never a fan of dark rides. It was quite understandable, considering her past, that she would hate twisting tracks in near-darkness, swallowed up in dimly lit scenery, and carried along in jerky carts past fantasy backdrops and jolting creature animatronics, as if the glossy-painted bunnies and bears would distract her from what lurked just beyond the backdrops. On her first and only trip to Disneyland, she’d staunchly refused to squeeze into a Peter Pan flight carriage. Instead, Miss Peaches paid for an overpriced ice cream that melted quickly under the sweltering sun that Margot refused to take refuge from. After all that time waiting in the dark for someone who would never return, she made a point to surround herself with light.
So, of course, Bianca lured her into the Riding Hood ride at Fairy Kingdom. The formal was well underway, and Lisa’s concert was due to begin at any moment, but the celebutante - and daughter of the most manipulative man Margot had ever met – knew how to get her away from the spotlight.
Without one of her borrowed designer heels to complete her outfit, Margot had no other choice but to retrieve it. Even if it meant doing what she couldn’t bring herself to do before.
“See you never,” Bianca said saccharinely, slapping the ‘start’ button at the operator’s booth with a flourish.
A garishly painted car with Squeaky the Squirrel – and her very expensive, borrowed-from-the-designer pure white G. Lass shoe – lurched forward, slipping through the large archway into darkness. Margot squinted, but couldn’t make out any shapes through the arch.
Bianca blew a sarcastic kiss as she flounced away.
A red-and-white checkered car flanking a particularly terrifying bust of Madame Wolfe on the hood appeared on the tracks, squealing to a stop by the booth. Margot slipped into the final seat of the car, just as it too lurched forward and made its way through the archway.
She was quickly engulfed in the pitch-black. She stilled, her hands gripping the safety bar in front of her. No sound at all; Bianca must’ve done the bare minimum to get the ride moving, and so the music and whatever else that had to be activated separately were not in operation.
Or something like that. Margot wasn’t well versed in . . . well, many things, but certainly not amusement park ride operations.
Margot took a deep breath, then another, trying her hardest not to simply sink down into the seat and begin her panic-chant. That would do her no good right now, especially since she wouldn’t believe it anyway.
No one was here. She was all alone. All alone in the dark, in this stupid ride designed for children that brought her right back to that barren hovel, that bare mattress scratchy against her cheek-
The ride dropped, and Margot leaned forward to wrap most of her arms around the safety bar as she waited for the car to level.
This, she thought, this is why I stayed outside all those years ago.
The car squealed beneath her as it continued moving through the dark. She felt the car ride a large turn, and then squeezed her eyes shut in preparation as an archway with a world bursting with light and sound and colours beyond it came into view.
Through the fake forest filled with candy colours and whirring Woodland Warriors with glassy eyes and jerky motions, she saw up ahead the car with Squeaky and the shoe. Despite her eyes watering from the sudden shift into light, she leapt out of the car and dashed through the fake forest, dodging branches and tiny animatronics donning “wooden” armor and weaponry. Cutting through a curve, Margot made it to the other side of the track just as the car with the shoe maneuvered around a nearby curve.
Stepping onto the car, she maneuvered her way through the rows. Finding the G. Lass heel, she slipped her foot back into it before collapsing into the seat behind her, exhausted from the effort of the chase.
It would take two other rooms – an admittedly riveting battle scene and the resulting Woodland Warrior celebration – before the car reappeared before the gaudy castle backdrop and operator’s booth at the loading dock. In that time, Margot conceded; the critters had kind-of realistic fur, and the backdrops were detailed enough to distract her through the rest of the ride.
But the cheesy nursery rhyme-y celebratory song the animatronics twisted to? Yeah, that was going to be stuck in her head forever now.
Yet another reason to despise Bianca.
🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬
Margot emerged from the Riding Hood ride sweaty and messy-haired. She prayed silently that the paparazzi snapping photos all evening had gotten distracted by another attendee, so the chances of May Gordon or another vulture reporter getting a shot of her looking disheveled were very low. She was a Penn Cattrall-approved actress now. Negative press might make him change his mind before they’d even sent her the script, and she didn’t want to lose such an amazing opportunity.
She followed a narrow stone-paved pathway that seemed to head towards the castle. In the distance, she could hear Lisa’s concert raging, the head-thrashing song she’d helped write threatening to shake the leaves off the surrounding trees. What had started as light rain quickly gained heft and speed, and Margot hugged herself as she took step by shivering step towards the brightly lit castle that seemed to glow beneath the star-speckled sky.
“S-so c-cold-”
Margot stopped short. A turn in the path had revealed that she wasn’t alone on it; a dark-haired man in a suit stood beneath an umbrella, gripping the handle with one hand while lazily scrolling on his phone with the other.
Thunder crashes across the sky, like a shout from the heavens, and he glanced up, starting when he saw her staring back at him.
She reckoned she must’ve been a sight to him: inky hair plastered to the sides of her face, makeup running down her face, her silver-blue dress dampened by the rapid rainfall. Of course, she assumed she looked awful. No setting spray in the world could withstand such a downpour, or at least not the one she used.
Meanwhile, he looked as put together as usual. His all-black suit was pristine, and if it weren’t for the furrowed brow and ever-present scowl on his face, she might’ve assumed he worked at the amusement park, or at least for the event that night.
“P-Professor,” she said.
His voice was hesitant, as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. “Is - Are you all right, Miss Schuyler?”
She shrugged.
Thunder rolled over them again, making her jump.
Professor Hunt quickly made his way over to her and held his umbrella above them, offering reprieve from the sheets of rain that somehow wasn’t dampening the energy of Lisa’s concert crowd, if the shouts and screaming to the thumping music were anything to go by.
When her heart stopped pounding so loudly, and she started to feel a little less like a drowned rat, she chanced a look at him. His focus was back on his phone, though he was not scrolling, and appeared to be frowning at the screen.
“Thanks,” she said, her voice barely audible above the rain.
He didn’t take his eyes off his screen. “It’s nothing.”
She shook her head indignantly, dispelling drops of rainwater onto his suit. He wisely didn’t say anything about it, choosing instead to focus on her face as she replied.
“It’s not nothing. It’s you being nice. Maybe that means nothing to you, but it means something to me.”
“I would do this for any student caught in the rain,” he said blandly.\
“But I’m not just ‘any student.’” She dared to look him right in the eye. “You’ve driven me back to my dorm before. You’ve been stuck with me on a movie set. You’ve danced with me publicly-”
“-While disguised,” he hissed.
Margot rolled her eyes. “There’s something here, between us. Please don’t tell me you don’t know what it is.”
His voice was flat. “An umbrella.”
“Thomas.”
“Miss Schuyler-”
Another boom of thunder, and that one seemed to do the trick; from their position on the pathway, they could feel the rumble of running feet hurrying towards the shelter of the castle, the chatter of the crowd carrying over the bushes and trees that separated them from the pair huddled beneath an umbrella.
“My shoes!”
“Ugh, it took me two hours to get my hair done.”
“That Lisa Mermaid girl better not win the ‘One to Watch’ tonight. We’ve already watched her! She can’t possibly qualify.”
“I bet it’ll be that girl dressed up like a Neopets faerie. Niche much?”
“I thought she was Thumbelina.”
From beside her, Margot felt more than heard his deep sigh.
“What are you thinking about?” she asked.
It was a safer topic than what they were just discussing, and she could tell he was grateful for the switch. He stood a little taller, lifting the umbrella slightly so he can take a better look at the bustling crowd from their hiding spot.
“Despite, or perhaps because of, the University’s best efforts, this Fairy Kingdom Formal is quite possibly the most ridiculous event of the year. The media circus is out in full-force, and even students who’ve yet to make a name for themselves are acting like fools to catch their attention. Look around. Who among them deserves to be named someone to watch in the industry? Queen Titania? Ursula? Jack the Giant Slayer?” He squinted, perplexed, at one of the costumes. “Is that . . . the old woman who lived in the shoe? Who – or what – is that?”
Margot suppressed a giggle. “But look, you’re here too, right? Doesn’t that make you part of the problem?”
He peered down at her, thick eyebrows knitting together. “I . . . fair point.”
They stood in silence for another minute before she nudged him with her elbow and gestured for him to lean down.
Cupping a hand around his ear, she whispered, “You want to know what I think?”
Despite himself, he nodded.
Her voice was airy, reminiscent. “Everyone here wants to be something, but not everyone here will succeed.”
As she pulled away from him, he reached up to her cupped hand and took a surprisingly gentle hold of her wrist. She froze, eyes stuck on where his skin touched hers, and she wondered if he felt the same shockwave she did.
“Is that right?” he drawled.
She nodded.
“Aren’t you part of that problem, then? You clearly want to be seen as something by being here, all dressed up and looking every bit the damsel in distress. Though the shoes definitely are a . . . statement.”
He nodded at her shoes, and she felt herself blush at the realization that he’d noticed the G. Lass heels that hugged her feet like a second skin.
“You know I’m no damsel in distress.”
“So you were walking in the rain for fun?”
She shook her head at him, ready to retort, when she heard the chimes of the castle clock. Looking down at her shoes once more, she silently counted the chimes in her head.
Seven . . . eight . . . nine . . . ten . . . eleven . . . oh, no!
Margot’s eyes widened as the chimes for midnight began. Feeling her pulse quicken beneath his fingertips, Hunt dropped the wrist he had forgotten he was holding and raised an eyebrow.
“What’s wrong, Margot?” he asked.
She was embarrassed to be on the verge of tears. “I’m too late. I’m supposed to have these shoes back to Ethan before midnight. I’m not even sure where Ethan is right now, and the shoes are all covered in mud, and I can’t get negative press right now-”
“Hey.” He moved to stand in front of her, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Breathe.”
Though she took a deep breath, she still rattled on. “But Ethan will get in trouble with the G. Lass! They told him that the shoes had to be back by midnight or else, and I don’t even know what ‘or else’ means to them!”
“G. Lass?” Hunt cocked his head to the side, as if listening intently. “The shoe designer?”
“No, the baker,” Margot snapped. “Of course, the shoe designer.”
And, in one perfectly fluid motion that startled Margot, Hunt reached up and pulled the umbrella closed before stepping to her side and offering his arm to her. Shocked at both the disappearance of the pounding rainfall and his sudden gesture, she hesitated to make a move.
“I’m certain Mister Blake will be waiting at the front entrance for you,” Hunt said calmly. “Furthermore, it’s getting late. I’d like to make sure you get there without any further delays.”
And, though she was confused by the sudden shift in topic and demeanor, she placed a hand upon his offered arm and matched his pace on the pathway to the castle.
🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬
For a moment, Margot saw Ethan waiting by the limousine, forehead creased in worry and visible from far away.
And then her line of sight was overtaken by flashing lights and shouts that sounded both right beside her ear and far off in the distance. Blinking rapidly, she turned her head to look up at her professor, who steadfastly directed her to her agent and idling limo with a tense jaw and determined stare forward. More lights flashed; she squinted towards them to find that they were slowly being mobbed by paparazzi.
“Looks like they found you,” she said quietly.
Though his face was practically set in stone, his voice was sardonic. “Actually, it looks like they’ve found you. I overheard a few of them earlier . . . you’ve been the ‘One to Watch’ the moment you showed up.”
Startled, she glanced around them, her expression seemingly opening her up to the descending vultures. Reporters began to shout at her, from compliments to questions about the inspiration behind her costume, but she simply stared forward and strained her ears to hear Hunt mutter beside her.
“Even though that means literally nothing.”
And though the reporters and the camera flashes felt overwhelming, and the wrinkles on Ethan’s forehead seemed to deepen as she and Hunt reached the limo with the horde tailing after them, she felt a genuine smile play at her lips.
Ethan admonished, “Margot, the shoes-”
Hunt cleared his throat. “Mister Blake. Tell G. Lass upon returning the shoes that they never specified which midnight they were to be returned by.” At the young agent’s confused stare, he added, “I don’t question the idiosyncrasies of such an eclectic designer. But I do know how to work with them, and I have before. It’s an easy loophole to exploit. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got my own car to get to, and these photographers are tap-dancing on my last nerve.”
Ethan ushered Margot into the limo, sliding in to sit beside Addison and a shockingly sleepy Lisa. And then, just before Hunt closed the door for them, Margot caught his gaze.
“Thank you, Professor.” She hoped the small smile she gave him conveyed her gratitude. She punctuated it with a small wave, instantly feeling dorky at the gesture.
A corner of his mouth pulled up as he gave her a short nod in acknowledgement.
Then he was gone.
As the limo headed back to the school dorms, Margot leaned back into the buttery leather of the seats, her mind replaying that short nod and smile while her friends gossiped beside her.

We got the name of another Professor! Professor Thumbelina Peach- she teaches plant science. One guess as to who HER allusion is 😂
Hmmm I wonder... I’m sure we’ll never know for sure. A true mystery this is, and one we can never hope to solve.

Facts about Vacuo according to RWBY: After the Fall.....
So first off I need to say this. In my last post I made a mistake on Fox’s backstory about the way his mentor/uncle figure died (which I have gone back to edit). It wasn’t the tribe that killed him as punishment, it was someone else who killed him and the tribe killed the murderer as punishment. I apologize for the error.
Okay. Now let’s talk about Vacuo because it’s going to be a while until we see it in the show.
We know that Vacuo is the most roughest and laid back of the four Kingdoms but  After the Fall has given us new info. According to the book the Kingdom of Vacuo is/has.......
-A survival of the fittest lifestyle.
-The wildlife in Vacuo consists reptiles, bugs, turtles, and crabs.
-The food in Vacuo consists of cactus, coffee, bugs, and lots and lots of crab.
-They have desert type Grimm (giraffes, jackalopes, bats, worms, etc)
-Much like Mistral with naming their towns after flowers, Vacuo seems to name their settlements after rocks and minerals.
-One of the schools in Vacuo is named Oscuro (which means ‘darkness’.)
Miscellaneous facts
-The headmaster at Shade Academy is Professor Theodore. As far as Wizard of Oz characters go I’m not sure which character he references. Toto, perhaps?
-There’s a professor named Rumpole (Rumplestiltskin) at Shade Academy.
-Team BRNZ is currently MIA. One of them is confirmed to be dead.
-Team CFVY doesn’t trust Atlas.
-There are other teachers at Beacon. We have Thumbelina Peach (Plant science),  Harold Mulberry (Weapon crafting and upkeep) and Anne Greene (Stealth and Security). As for the teachers we know on the show we have Port teaching Military Strategy, Oobleck teaching Legends of Remnant, and Glynda teaching Combat Training.
And there we have it. Vacuo sounds like an interesting place to see on the show.

So apparently RWBY After The Fall also tells us about other teachers at Beacon other than Port and Oobleck and no one is talking about this. Worldbuilding stuff is my jam.
Professor Thumbelina Peach teaches Plant Sciences. She was mentioned in Forever Fall by Professor Goodwitch and gave the assignment to collect the tree sap.
Professor Ann Greene teaches Stealth and Security
and Professor Harold Mulberry teaches Weapon Crafting and Upkeep.
The first one, I can get, you might need to know how to survive off the land or be aware of the wildlife if your Huntsmen and Huntress missions take you outside the kingdoms into the wild.
The third one is obvious since you’d need to keep an eye on your weapons’ condition.
But why would Stealth and Security be a class at Beacon? Like if it was an elective then maybe, but what purpose would it have?

HUGE list of info we’ve learned from the After The Fall Novel
(Courtesy of NeoVelociraptorDelta from RWBY wiki for making this list. You’re incredible!) SPOILERS AHEAD, DON’T CLICK IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW
Grimm
Dromedon are camel like Grimm that can spit venom (p.150). Jackalopes are huge four-legged beasts with black fur, branching red and white antlers, and powerful hind legs (p.150). Ziraphs are three headed Grimm that resemble a giraffe. Their bodies are covered in red spots that bear resemblances to a leopard, and each head has two horns. The Ziraph is described as five stories tall, and has razor-like plates on their (four) legs (p.151). Ravagers are small bat-like Grimm, that are described as dark and leathery, and are uglier than Nevermores (p.69). A visual will be provided by RWBY Amity Arena soon, if datamines are to be believed. A Blind Worm is an enormous worm-like Grimm with a singular red eye. These Worms are easily as big as Flatback Sliders, but are built to be far faster when traveling in sands. Their defenses include hooks and pitons for teeth and acidic blood (p.263). King Taijitu are also native to Vacuo
Carmine Esclados and Bertilak Celadon Carmine and Bertilak are veteran Huntsmen who work for an unknown employer that has hired them to traffic people with powerful Semblances for an unknown motive. In After the Fall, the duo targets Gus and Edward Caspian, having met them in Vale and followed them to the Felspar settlement Vacuo (p.28). They are detained and arrested by team CFVY. Both Carmine and Bertilak are originally from Shade Academy (p.32). Bertilak Celadon Bertilak is a tall, broad, and muscular man with a green mohawk and matching goatee. He sports a brown, hooded cloak, a green chestplate, and a black tunic. Bertilak has a long scar along his right forearm, and uses a large chained mace (p.31). He is 6’6” (p.215). He is racist towards Faunus. He apparently barely graduated from the Academy (p.31), and is considered an ass, as Fox put (p.108). Celadon’s Semblance is generating heat, he can use it to form walls of sand and to cause enemies to be exhausted (p.137). Bertalik faces off against Fox Alistair and Edward Caspian in a sandstorm, and is subsequently defeated. His weapon is destroyed. Carmine Esclados Carmine hails from the Kingdom of Atlas, though she claims she chose to study in Shade Academy due to a disdain towards Atlas Academy’s uniforms (p.35). Her clothes are from Mistral (p.33). Carmine’s Semblance is Telekinesis, which she frequently uses to create localized weather patterns and to manipulate her weapons (p.254). Additionally, Carmine has used her Semblance to dig tunnels through sand in order to escape peril. Carmine is stated to have less mastery over her Semblance than Glynda Goodwitch. She is defeated by Yatsuhashi Daichi, Velvet Scarlatina, and Coco Adel.
Wildlife Vacuan wildlife includes, but is not limited to: Geckos Mole crabs; massive crab-like creatures that move in herds and bury themselves in the sand. Their blood is described as a clear liquid, and their bodies contain water that is almost black in color. Mole crabs are considered a delicacy in Vacuo, and are very rarely killed due to how dangerous they are. Flatback sliders; giant turtles that average at 100ft of height and swim through Vacuan deserts. Sliders have terrible vision, and are considered a sign of good luck when spotted. They are not Grimm (p.204). Food in Remnant Mistral is the kingdom with the most spices in all of Remnant (p.36). Vacuan food includes: Cactus leaves, coffee, crab burgers, crab steak, crab cake, crab rangoon, fried crevice worms, cave beetles (toasted), desert lotus tea, cactus tea, gecko cake (p.30), bat stew, ale, flatbread (p.37), breadfruit (p.79) Sand is jokingly referred to as the “local spice” of Vacuo as it can’t be fully removed when preparing food. Shade Academy Notes Graduates: Carmine Esclados and Bertalik Celadon Headmaster: Theodore (p.33) Professor: Rumpole (p.19)
Beacon Academy Notes Initiation For CFVY’s initiation, the characters were hurled into the Emerald Forest much like in Volume 1. The Relics they were assigned to obtain were small stone tablets with playing card symbols etched onto them. Coco obtained the Joker Fox took the King of Hearts Velvet took the Queen of Hearts All upperclassmen watch the initiation live from Beacon, and judge newcomers based on their performances. Professors and Classes Ann Greene - Stealth and Security (p.80) Thumbelina Peach - Plant Science (p.269) Peter Port - Military Strategy (p.269) Harold Mulberry - Weapon Crafting and Upkeep (p.269) Bartholomew Oobleck - Legends of Remnant (p.269) Glynda Goodwitch - Combat Training (p.269) Ozpin does not teach any classes. The clockwork in Oz’s office is meant to symbolize how rules are crucial to keep things moving (at least to some extent; p.245) Standard Schedule at Beacon: 7:30am - Breakfast 8am - class 9:45am - class 11:15am - class 12:30pm - lunch 1:30pm - class 2:15pm - class 4pm - class 5pm - self-directed sparring 6pm - dinner Beacon sends students on missions more often than other Academies, and gives students more one on one time with professionals (p.270)
Pharos Academy Pharos is a combat school in Vale. Coco and Velvet attended Pharos. They knew of each other but weren’t friends then. Coco developed a reputation for being a heartbreaker and record setter. Vega Bleu is a friend of Velvet who also went to Pharos, but chose to go to Atlas. He wields a pair of arm-mounted grappling hooks (p.52)
Vacuo Notes Popular Vacuan tourist gift shop t-shirts include: “Vacuo: The Wrong Place at the Wrong Time” and “A Terrible Place to Visit, but You Wouldn’t Want to Live Here” (p.1) Vacuan fashion: simple, light-colored tunics and linen cloaks/head coverings (p.15) Vacuo has a survival of the fittest lifestyle, and strength/survivability makes you well liked (p.15) Vacuan settlements/tribes include: Tuff, destroyed by Grimm Oscuro Coquina Kenyte (partially destroyed by a giant sinkhole) Schist (destroyed by Grimm) Feldspar It’s built out of several tents, trucks/vans, and adobe homes without and defenses Has a support CCT tower Vacuan deserts are windy, thus making it extremely hard to track people in the sandy environment (p.23) Aloe is a common sunscreen in Vacuo The saying ‘I’ll take a rain check’ means the same as ‘when pigs fly’ in Vacuo Vacuan terms: Misery’s Kiss (sunstroke), Lasting Regret (food poisoning), Sudden Demise (giant sinkholes; p. 78).
Edward and August ‘Gus’ Caspian Edward is a slender, old man at 71 years of age with silver hair tied into a ponytail and a stubble. He is a former Huntsman, which is surprising because most Huntsmen don’t live long. His weapon is a small buckler shield with a metal blade (p.81) and a gun function (p.179). Edward’s Semblance is blocking other people’s Semblances. Gus has the Semblance of amplifying emotions, only he can’t control it. He kept this a secret from others (p.130). He has no interest in being a Huntsman, unlike his grandfather, Edward. August is roughly eleven or twelve. The Caspians were targeted by Carmine, Bertalik, and their unknown boss because of their powerful Semblances.
CFVY and Other Teams CFVY and RWBY became friends shortly after the latter team was formed. Ruby seems to be close to Coco, Velvet and Fox. Both teams respect each other due to their respective hotshot reputations. The two teams lost touch after the Fall of Beacon. CFVY and Neptune/Sun were friends. They meet each other in the Epilogue of the book in the settlement of Coquina, where Sun informs the team about the events at the Battle of Haven, meaning After the Fall takes place right at the start of Volume 6. Velvet notes that Sun doesn’t seem like he wants to stay in Shade for long.
The Battle and Fall of Beacon Velvet observed team ABRN easily defeat a Death Stalker during the Battle of Beacon Roy Stallion was killed after being carried off by a Nevermore, the rest of team BRNZ is missing, presumed to be dead. Glynda set up her office in a library after the Fall of Beacon, and is operating the reconstruction of Vale. Team CFVY does not trust the Kingdom of Atlas following the Fall. Beringels were present at the Fall of Beacon.
Team CFVY’s Missions CFVY’s mission in the present day was to defend the settlement of Gossan due to a Grimm outbreak after they received a distress call. They found the settlement had been destroyed, and aided the survivors in reaching the settlement of Feldspar. After Feldspar was invaded by Grimm, the team successfully lead the nomads to Coquina without any casualties. They uncovered Carmine and Bertalik’s plan to traffic people, and arrested the two. CFVY’s Mt. Glenn mission was considered an outright failure. The team was sent to a small settlement called Lower Cairn near Mt. Glenn due to a distress call. There, they found the settlement was outright flattened, which was incredibly outside the Grimm’s MO. CFVY found a family of six hiding in a cave near the ruins, and attempted to rescue them. To their horror, the father was killed by an Ursa, and the rest of the family fled back to the cave. The cave was then flattened by a Goliath that appeared, causing CFVY to retreat. The mission lasted ten days and was supervised by Professor Port, CFVY believes Ozpin overestimated their team. In V2, Velvet lies to team RWBY about their mission, partially due to shock and in part to not frighten the first years, given they were leaving off on their own missions shortly.
Ada Ada, or an “Accessibility Dialogue Assistant” is an earbud device intended to aid people with disabilities. It is designed to send pulses to distinguish the nearby environment, and is activated through voice control (p.46). Ada has a compass function(p. 176), as well as a battle mode called the Cyrano Protocol, which identifies weapons and weaknesses. The entire Ada system adapts to fit the user over time (p.178).
Miscellaneous Pig snouts are a confirmed Faunus trait (p.30) Pumpkin Pete is also a Looney Tunes-esque cartoon in addition to the cereal brand (p.12) Curry Up is one of the restaurants at Vale (p.239) Ruby made her V1 outfit herself with roughly 20 Lien (p.112) Coco and Oz once had a talk much like Ruby and Oz did in V1 (p. 117) Fox and Yatsuhashi confronted Weiss about her attitude in V1, shortly after team RWBY was formed (p. 121) More books in Remnant:  The Boy Who Fell from the Sky (p.122), My Sweet Samurai, and Hidden Remnant (p.161). ‘Catnap’ is an offensive term when talking about cat Faunus (p.161).
Fox Alistair Fox’s Semblance is that of telepathy. He can send message to people’s minds to convey his thoughts, and he can sense when people are close by. Fox’s Semblance is more precise if people are close by. When using it, other people feel as though they are being watched by something. He is originally from the Vacuan tribe of Kenyte, where he was considered a frail boy by his parents and peers. His parents were killed when a part of the settlement was destroyed in a sinkhole, resulting in him being taken care of by the tribe in a communal fashion. Fox was trained to fight by his honorary uncle, Copper, as he was the one person who didn’t view Alistair as frail. Copper was eventually killed by the tribe for training him as a punishment. Because of this, Fox decided to turn to Vale with the goal of protecting others who couldn’t protect themselves. Fox’s weapons are called Sharp Retribution.
Yatsuhashi Daichi Yatsuhashi’s Semblance allows him to wipe other people’s memories when he touches them. He can permanently wipe “easy memories,” which are trivial in nature, and temporarily wipe important memories, which return on an equal basis as to how they were wiped (so, if he were to wipe a day, then the person regains the memory the next day). Yatsu uses the Semblance sparingly, only wiping seconds at a time. Yatsuhashi was born in the city of Mistral, where he lived with his parents, grandfather, and his sister, Hiyoko. At the age of eight, he discovered his Semblance, and being a problem child, decided to use it to his advantage. However, this took a turn when, in a fit of jealousy, he wiped his mother’s memory of his sister for a day. Yatsuhashi was traumatized by this, and took care of Hiyoko while he waited for his mother’s memory to return. Once they did, he came clean to his parents about discovering his Semblance, to which his parents told him to never use the Semblance again. However, his grandfather suggested that he went to Beacon to master it to use his ability for good. Yatsu’s greatsword is called Fulcrum.
Coco Adel Coco’s Semblance, simply called Hype, allows her to use her Aura to increase the effects and power of Dust. She uses this to power the effect of her gatling gun’s bullets, thus explaining her power level in Volume 2. Additionally, Fox notes Coco has a large amount of Aura. She is native to Vale, and studied in Pharos, having developed a reputation as a heartbreaker and a record setter. Coco notes Ozpin reminds her of her younger brother. She admires Glynda’s leadership and tries to replicate that when talking to her team and when encouraging Ruby Rose. She designed her gatling gun, Gianduja, herself.
Velvet Scarlatina Velvet’s Semblance is Photographic Memory, it allows her to easily learn skills that would otherwise take years to master. Velvet, like Coco, is from Vale and studied in Pharos. At her time in the school, tormentors from Mistral frequently bullied her, causing Velvet to gain a deep seeded hatred for the Kingdom. She also dislikes Vacuo, mainly because it’s simply not as comfortable as Vale was to her. Velvet is sassy when with her team in comparison to her usual shyness around others. Her camera is called Anesidora.
Slate Slate is an old woman with spiky grey hair and what is described as a leathery face. She is the leader of Gossan nomadic tribe, and the former mayor of Tuff (where the tribe was originally settled), which had recently been destroyed by a Grimm outbreak (p.14). Slate is highly respected as a leader, gaining the trust of the entire nomadic tribe and team CFVY.

Note
Broke: Winter is Jadis Woke: James Ironwood falls in love with Professor Peach, whose Semblance is turning into a Giant woman
oh my god
and it would work because Peachs first name is Thumbelina, and in an inversion of her allusion, instead of being super tiny, she can instead become a giant woman, its brilliant!

after the fall spoilers /
when u wanna liveblog but ur the first person you know to start/finish reading: a collection of disorganised and contextless thoughts by an excitable brit
book: mentions weiss and ruby
me: SCREAMING
fox is from vacuo!!!!!! i am VINDICATED
ADA ADA ADA ADA
split point of view per chapter is sososososososoososos GOOD SO GOOD DO GOOD
nothing will beat novels for their ability to drop explicit details in a short period of time
VELVET HAS A PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY
coco adele? was that a typo? or is adele her middle name? stylistic choice? hmm
what a fucking show off our boy fox is
tiny criticism: pls stop knocking on about coco’s fashion sense we get it you’re doing that thing where you boil her down to one trait, hopefully this will happen less as the book goes on
FOX CLAPPED HIS HANDS TO HIS EYES. “OH NO!” HE SAID. “WHYYYYYYY?”
this initiation is some juicy fucking lore my guys
y.. yatsuhashi CAN FUCK WITH MEMORIES???
dyou think when fox stutters over a word in team cfvy’s mental group chat, coco, yatsuhashi and velvet repeat his mistake back at him
i am supremely interested to know how fox’s semblance interacts with rens
i literally fucking winded myself at the start of chapter 5 gasping so hard
“she looked like she had a mortal wound in her side” OH HAHA VERY FUNNY I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE
coco mentoring ruby has given me more life than anything so far
WEISS DONT BE MEAN TO YATSUHASHI
oh im not comfortable with weiss calling fox red that sounds very weird and not at all in character it sounds too much like torchwick and im not about making that association
WHY WOULD HER HAND GO TO MYRTENASTER ARE YOU REALLY GONNA FIGHT FY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HALLWAY WEISS?
i really did forget how much of an ego weiss has right in the beginning ive been writing her post development for too long
BLAKE N VELVET BLAKE N VELVE T once again i gasped so hard my lungs hurt
wow huh okay blake being violent is..... a surprise
“I don’t believe in fighting prejudice with violence” jess is vindicated im so proud of my wife
COCO WAS GOING TO LIKE HER, VELVET THOUGHT you’re damn right she does
i dont like velvet and coco fighting ):
fox as the hardcore realist i am once again, VINDICATED
velvet employing the same words to gus as blake did to her..... aaa.....
yatsuhashi’s semblance makes me sad cause imagine if he made someone he thought cared about him forget him and it turned out to be really easy
UGH THE THEME IN THIS BOOK IS LEARNING LESSONS AND ITS SO APPARENT AAAAAA
fox and ruby interacted...... thank you for my life............
the inclusion of not only yatsu asking velvet to guide him so he can be better in terms of his language but also an active example of this happening is really pleasing to me
as the player of a dnd character who always splits off from the group i can say with complete confidence fox splitting off from team cfvy in the sands of vacuo will almost certainly not go well
“she kept waiting for the others to see it” ;___;
PYRRHAAAA ;____________;
literally all it takes is her name and i am sad .
this TEAM make my heart SURGE
coco genuinely is the big explicit wlw i’ve been hoping for
jesus christ coco hold urself together.
fox vc alexa play darude: sandstorm
OK BUT CYRANO IS MCFUCKING COOL MY DUDES I COULDNT HAVE IMAGINED SOMETHING LIKE THIS
- as long as her remembered to charge his scroll. i knew it, boy’s gonna run out of battery .
IF MY BOY GETS KILLED I’LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU ROOSTERTEETH
i love when things connect with canon i love it i love it
why is coco of all people picking on velvet ):
VELVET BITING BACK THO aaaaaa yay but also ):
uhg i love this fuck ign fami ly
im.... emotional,,,,,
the cairn mission......... no wonder it was so hard..... im ):
COCO FINALLY LETTIN VELVET DO SHIT YASS
I KNOW ITS JUST THE INDLUENCE OF GUS’ SEMBLANCE BUT IT MAKES ME SO SAD WHEN THEY FIGHT
also im getting serious shadow of the colossus vibes
FOX BETTER NOT DIE BERTIE NEEDS TO GET FUCKED
i love my son he’s so strong and smart
theres so many death flags here i dont even know who they’re on anymore
lol jk he’s fine
i really love how sure of himself fox is and so he should be he’s fought really hard to be confident
it is REALLY cool seeing an actual scene from the show written from velvet’s perspective, im all about this
moro is gonna be happy about glynda i know it she’s fab
“we just need you to tell us everything” “ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING” ozpin still putting tremendous amounts of pressure on teenagers i see
“we prefer to speak with you individually so we can separate you from your support system while tugging on your vulnerabilities”
yatsu getting mad ):
im not too fond on how blithely ‘coco never picked up on that’ regarding the finer points of velvet’s tendencies when coco has been established already as a people watcher and observational thinker.,
CFY TO THE RESCUE
what the FUCK these adults???? hello????? “i deserved that” NO YOU DIDNT???? what did glynda think he was gonna do, stab ozpin???
“haha we broguth her here alone to TEST you!!! you passed because you came to her!!!! hahahahahah!!!!!!” fuck you ozpin
no explanation as to WHY she had to be brought alone as if her ‘keen observational skills’ couldnt have been asked about in the presence of her team or indeed pulled fro the written report she’ll be making
this is such a formative mission for them and i like it but damn ozpin really up here ruining it all
the death flags were yatsu’s ALL ALONG
oh god the impact of velvet using some of these weapons has not been lost on me and it must be devastating for her
“if this didnt qualify, what did?” me when i get to the end of a game with 3468758976495 different things hoarded and dropping them all on the final boss
why are coco and velvet having a conversation like they’re about to die noones dying NOONES DYING
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
FUCK RIGHT OFF WITH SHIFTING TO A FLASHBACK YOU WANKERS
thumbelina peach...? really???? but hey looks like beacon has more than 4 professors now
“noone knew what had frozen that beast there” interesting .
its interesting to me that so far its been atlas thats been shown to be the least accepting of faunus but now its becoming clear mistral is worse, worse enough that velvet wont even consider going there
“velvet waited for someone to ask her what she wanted, but they never did” :(
anyway i cant wait to see how coco is gonna make the blind worm her bitch
yatsu is so shy about his semblance im sad for him,
I CANT BELIEVE I THOUGHT YOU WERE CUTE
coco getting edward to help ;_____;
its both funny and depressing that sssn are here and sage and scarlet are still yet to have any actual fuckin lines or DESCRIPTORS for that matter
fox tapping that @ everyone command and getting chewed out for it
COCO YOU BITCH THAT WAS ART
u kno whats getting me most?

After the Fall Tidbits, Chp. 17
STOP LEAVING US ON CLIFFHANGERS, MYERS. This one's a flashback, goddammit. Oh well. Tag is "after the fall liveblog". Onward!
So, we actually get some insight into the types of classes taught at the Academies! And more names!!
Classes: Plant Science, Military Strategy, Weapon Crafting and Upkeep, Stealth and Security (mentioned earlier), Legends of Remnant, Combat Training, Sparring.
Names: Prof. Thumbelina Peach (the Professor Peach mentioned a couple times in the show and Chibi, teaches plant science), Prof. Harold Mulberry (Weapons), Prof. Ann Greene (Anne of Green Gables, teaches stealth and security)
Also they get up at fucking 6 or 7 am (breakfast at 7:30) and be done with dinner at 6pm and I wanna die.
Beacon stands out because of its emphasis on practical education, sending out more students on supervised missions, and more one on one time with their teams and trained huntsmen.
Vale is also beautiful year-round and "a cultural center with a diverse population," so Beacon is very popular compared to the other Academies.
The closest they'd been able to get to the Academy itself after the fall has been the campus; Salem's forces are too numerous. This flashback takes place a few weeks later, and temporary shelters in Vale are mentioned. I'm going to assume that, more than a year later, it's gonna be abandoned by all but the most dedicated, like Glynda, Oobleck and Port.
Atlas was still being assigned part of the blame for what happened because of Torchwick's takeover. I'm sure that Ironwood did what he could to try to disperse that but it's hard to prove otherwise. Small wonder he's closed the borders, then.
No one actually asked what Velvet thought. She didn't speak up, but she wasn't included either. Oof.
Glynda totally expected the decision to head to Shade because she had their files ready already. Also, she's acting headmistress. Yay!! Now let's get a lady in at Haven, too! A Faunus lady, even!
"Beacon Academy is not a place. It is an idea, which has taken root in each and every one of you. You are Beacon, and you must now go forth and serve as a hopeful light for others. It is your privilege and your burden as huntsmen and huntresses to protect not only those who cannot defend themselves, but to watch out for each other, always. Now get out of here." I miss you, Oz. I really do.
Oz didn't like long goodbyes, and neither does Glynda.
Fox could have secured a "ride" (presumably a flight, considering that's what's restricted as mentioned in V4) to Vacuo, but chose to stick with his team.
It takes three months to go from Beacon to Shade without flying. Coco hoped to get there before winter and in time for the second semester.
I'd ask why the fuck anyone keeps walking anywhere but then I realize that Grimm (and Goliaths especially) would just wreck any paved roads that get put down. It's probably a huge risk to try to get anything more than improved dirt roads put in, and that's why we don't see many personal vehicles--mostly trucks and vans. Bumblebee (the bike) might be an example of something that's been proven to be effective long-distance transportation for an individual that can stand up to (or outrun and outmaneuver) a Grimm attack out in the wild.
