I'm making a set of digitigrade legs :]
Since there's a convention coming up in my city shortly, I decided to make a set of legs to go along with a fursuit I made 2 or 3 years ago (especially since the plantigrade feet I made are a bit annoying to walk in)
I don't think I've introduced the suit here, but I'll show her off once I've finished the legs! :D

Thank you all for the likes reblogs and comments - I’ve loved reading your responses to the finished piece so I thought I’d show you the piece as it was in progress so you can see the full process I went through to make it happen!
Starting with - a reference picture!
Tumblr media
I made a outline drawing from the reference picture (I did this one while I was at the cricket here you can see it in progress) 😎
Tumblr media
Then I use a light box to transfer the outline onto my fabric. I like to embroider on a fairly fine but medium weight linen - it holds together well but has distinct holes so you don’t end up ripping through threads as you work!
Once the outline is drawn I started outlining areas with back stitch before beginning to infill with a single colour. Below you can see my progress on Oliver’s arm - I tend to change colours as I’m working to stop me getting annoyed or bored - hence the white and black and not of grey you can see having been done.
I have several different sized hoops, but this small one is my favourite as I like the tension I can get on the fabric!
Tumblr media
I did find sewing with white on white frustrating so the shirt sleeve got left for a bit - that’s the beauty of embroidery like this though - you can move around and do different sections depending on your mood!
Tumblr media
I really enjoyed being able to play with texture as well - I chose to use satin stitch on the sleeves and ground - using different angles to create depth.
Tumblr media
While the flesh of Oliver’s arm and hand and Ryan’s hand I went with a more textured look using ‘random’ stitch placement. This gave me the texture and the ability to build up the shading in more detail than satin stitch would’ve allowed - giving me the more painterly look I was after.
I’ve included a picture of the back of the work so you can see is similar to the front - I live looking at the back of pieces!!
Tumblr media
Once some of you helped me decide on the text - I added that - it’s my handwriting for this one - I wrote on paper first then transferred it the same way I did the outline of the arms!
Tumblr media
Then I just carried on stitching, and stitching, and stitching! Sometimes at the cricket (good light!!) and sometimes at home - I brought a 6000k white light lightbulb for one of my lamps so I could continue seeing in the evenings when it got dark!
Tumblr media
When finally finished I washed the embroidery - in Luke warm water with a tiny amount of washing up liquid- to remove the grease and sweat that would’ve transferred from my hands onto the fabric and threads - this needs removing before mounting as it will start to discolour the fabric over time!
Tumblr media
And then I mounted the final piece so it looks like this!! - this was the first time I tried mounting anything myself and it’s not perfect (the ‘yeah’ is a bit wonky) but I’m happy with it 😎
Tumblr media
Hopefully this is interesting! I’ve just started my second piece - the sister piece to this one and I’ll share pictures as I go - starting tomorrow with my terrible sketch!

Finally finished the first character to be added to "Shadowville." (Which Shadowville is what I decided to name the darker world behind the door Alice will later explore)
His full name is Trevon "Teddy" Mills, and Alice's full name is Alice Lawrence.
(He hates being called Teddy, and a certain feline knows that)

Doing my schoolwork feels like pulling teeth at the moment, so I've started making a braided rag basket out of the blue sheet that bleeds dye everywhere (including my hands while braiding it). The plan is to make it the right size to go on top of the entryway drawers so that it can be a tidier landing place for hats/mits/etc. than the current pile on a chair. Since all of my winter stuff is relatively dark colours anyway, the dye bleeding ishouldn't matter, and it won't stain some other unsuspecting thrift store customer's legs and mattress protector blue.

Time to get working on those holiday commissions. This is a ‘bag-room’ ala My Froggie Stuff (heart eyes).
Tumblr media
The commission is for a child named Lilly who loves purple, witches, and things a little more spooky.
Tumblr media
Her uncle chose this paper set up, and flooring. We’ll be adding more details on the next gathering. I’m thinking chair rail, maybe a window with curtains? We’ll see.
Tumblr media
The floor folds up completely.
Tumblr media
When folded, the floor is a neat wall, leaving space for the room props. Including a bed, chairs, and so on. Even the doll.
Tumblr media
Close up of the easy for small hands locking mechanism. A simple slide. It goes in an inch or so, giving it a good grip.
Tumblr media
See all that room?
Tumblr media
And easy to pick up, ribbons firmly locked in place, good for small hands. Super light, and good for the easy transport of fun things for small beings.
Tumblr media
I like this design because it will be easy to take a toy set to the grandparents, or wherever they want to go, has a nice clean-up ratio as it all will fit in the bag - including the doll - and takes up very little space when it is closed. I love making these in any size. More updates as I work on to come.

Hi there! I just wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about myself. I'm a young adult living with my wonderful hubby and our four furry friends - two cats and two dogs. During the day, I work a 9-5 job, but my true passion lies in social media and content creation. I'm always eager to make new friends who share my interests in art, comics, and png/vtuber content. Oh, and I almost forgot to introduce myself! You can call me LavendarKitty03, or LK for short. I'm a pngtuber artist, and I love posting my content on YouTube. Recently, I decided to branch out and try Tumblr as well. Right now, I'm working on a fantasy-cyberpunk hybrid story called The NeoArcana Chronicles, and I'm super excited to share it with the world! Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of art and gaming with my exciting new podcast, LavendarMint Canvas & Console Cafe! While my current project is still in development, my hubby (Mint Pup) and I are thrilled to bring you this podcast within the next few weeks. Join us as we explore the fascinating connections between art and gaming, as well as the latest developments and trends within these communities. It's going to be a thrilling ride, so stay tuned!

Finally announcing the start of a project in the works since 2018. Before I release the official title of my project, this is Project Neon. This story is set in the Second Republic of Texas and is in a dystopian/high sci-fi setting. This is the linework before its official production. I'm actually happy that I'm putting this major project to light and hope folks start following and backing this project. This post is both a wip and bts look into how I do things.
.
.
.
This is just one thing that is part of Project Neon. More updates will come as things come to light. I can't wait to start this epic journey starting on Webtoon. The official comic for the Webtoon has not started yet but an update will be announced.

On a complete impulsive whim, I've started making a semi-partial fursuit
It's not the first suit I've made, and if my track record says anything about me there's a good chance it won't be the last (speaking of which, I should probably show off one of my other suits here sometime)
Anyway, this is Aquamarine Dandy! I basically pulled her out of thin air to fit a loose collection of criteria I wanted to fulfil (mainly to use some materials I've had lying around) and I have no idea what species she is :D

I decided that I'm going to be making two turtles and another idea I had was to use the scrap foam that I have from cutting it up for other projects is it tedious yes would it be easier and probably more efficient to use the scraps for something else and just cut it out of a full piece of foam perhaps but that's not how I roll

I'm working on "Colorful Shadows" character designs, I was going to wait and post them all at once, but I was excited to show Alice's design! I hope to finish the WH oc board and the other characters for my own project this weekend.
