here’s my other superhero for the au by @thelunarsystemwrites! [2/2]
Tumblr media
Meet Time Kid, a young superhero who loves to help people.
Tumblr media
His civilian identity is Sans [REDACTED], a 7th grade student that admires all superheroes and who is fortunate enough to be one. He’s quite the celebrity at his middle school for it.
LORE, STATS, AND MORE:
Sans [REDACTED] was raised a normal kid, but there was one thing that always stood with him, and that was the superheroes in the city. He saw them, flying high, protecting civilians, defeating the bad guys, and he knew that one day, he wanted to be one.
His dad, Gaster, is a scientist. He continuously begged him to make him some sort of superpower, but his pleas didn’t work, as his father insisted it was far too risky. Obviously, being a child, he didn’t take no for an answer. So, he snuck into his dad’s lab, dabbling with his equipment and previous projects. He stumbled across an older experiment, a blue serum on the inside of a fridge labeled in a language he couldn’t understand. He activated the serum with his magic, causing a reaction that broke the glass vial it was contained in and the contents mixing with his own magic. At first, it hurt, burning the inside of his bones, but after a few hours, the stinging sensation went away, and he found a new power— time manipulation.
He hadn’t heard of a real superhero with the ability to manipulate time before, so he was overjoyed when he accidentally made a paper airplane stop in mid air during class. He practiced his magic until he decided it would be safe enough to use in a real situation.
One day, when getting groceries with his dad, he noticed an attack. A supervillain attack, in real time. He didn’t recognize the villain, but he knew he had to help. He dropped the bag he was holding and quickly teleported into the scene, despite his father’s demands for him to stop.
After what seemed like an exhausting fight, he triumphed, though with a few cracked bones. The next thing he knew, he was swarmed with reporters and journalists, shocked that someone of his age defeated an adult villain. He gleamed with pride, incredibly excited until his father dragged him from the crowd, furious. He had a very long lecture for his son, and grounded him for a month. It took him a while to acknowledge Sans’ clear ambition for heroism, but when he did, he told him to be careful, and gave him the opportunity to try it out again.
With his father’s blessing, Sans became Time Kid, one of the youngest heroes in the city.
STATS:
ATK 20 DEF 30 HP 100
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+ agility and speed + extremely smart— can use intel on the battlefield + time manipulation— can stop a moment in time for a certain amount of time. He can also fling time disks at people shaped like clocks, which sort of work like bones. + fusion— can fuse with other skeletons at will to help on the battlefield, as long as they consent. - low health - can only use his powers for a certain period of time before he gets tired - can get uncontrollably hyperactive, which is not good for stealthy situations. - fusion can only work when his magic level is full - he’s still developing, so magic may not work as intended at times
FUN FACTS:
- Some students at his school call him Time Kid or TK, even though his name is technically Sans. He’s in no position to complain, though. - TK is 4’6. - TK’s pronouns are he / him. - TK has ADHD! This works both for and against him in the battlefield. - He really wants to be apart of a superhero team. - He can be quite the annoyance to enemies, especially considering he defeats a lot of them. - His best friend is a kid named Frisk at their school. They’re super cool, and helped him make decisions for his superhero job!
and that’s about it! thanks for reading if you got this far <3
tk!sans is originally by @/perfectshadow06 utmv superhero au by @/thelunarsystemwrites this variation of the character is by me ^w^

Writing about Chaff and Alec got me back onto the topic of patriotism. I think what's so interesting about your victors is for the ones who are completely loyal - particularly Odin - there's a real patriotism for the District and that's how they justify a lot of the Capitol stuff. It brought me back to the 3rd Victor of the Golden Trio and what it would look like to have a victor who is completely devoted to the Capitol, more so than Two itself and how that would fit with the whole Centre/Victor thing. I don't know if I'm going to turn it into anything but here's my very rough drabble on him.
For all the Golden Trio are as much a part of Two’s mythology as the mountains themselves, people are strangely reluctant to talk about Amun.
There’s something about him, something that’s hard to place and even harder to name, that makes people wary. Even among the diehard patriots, who idealise him second only to Ronan, there’s a distance. Because Amun doesn’t belong to them the same way the other victors do and everyone knows it. Sure, the victors, the volunteers, even the trainees belong to the Capitol but they’re the product of the District. Trainees are the District’s offering to the Capitol, a gift freely given as a symbol of their loyalty, a show of love to their masters by sacrificing the very best of their children to them. The victors, the sacrifices who are returned to them as a symbol of the Capitol’s benevolence, are a bridge between the District and the Capitol; tangible proof of the rewards of obedience.
Except that Amun has never belonged to the District. He is not like Odin, whose image as loyalty incarnate only grows stronger as the decades roll on. Amun is loyal, no one doubts that, but his loyalty has never been to Two. On the contrary, Amun is the Capital’s Victor through and through. He is their mouthpiece and their guard dog and he would burn District Two to the ground without a second thought if the President ever asked that of him. There is no pretence – Amun has never been a man of artifice – but his patriotism, his loyalty, is to the Capital alone.
ha ha OH BOY that will be .................. interesting later on, huh

Entropic Gravity (I think)
When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up? I’ve always been, you know, kind of wannabe a scientist and sort of doing an okay job at qualifying, and just, you know, other creative ways of wrestling down the human condition. But here is a poem trying to explain a new theory of gravity by Erik Verlinde (https://arxiv.org/abs/1001.0785): In a room scattered with marbles wide,  A…

A Tale for the Time Being – Ruth Ozeki book review
Tumblr media
I don’t know how to describe what I’m feeling right now. After completing this book I’m left with a storm in my chest, Ruth Ozeki wrote a touching and unforgettable story. It was funny and tragic at the same time, and a lot of times very harrowing and so gut wrenching that I had to put the book down and stop for a couple minutes.
In this book we follow two stories at the same time but not actually. Ruth is a novelist living in a remote island who one day discovers a collection of artifacts washed ashore in a Hello Kitty lunchbox, there she finds the diary of sixteen-year-old Nao who lives in Tokyo. As Ruth continues to read Nao’s diary she plunges into the life of a young girl who’s bullied by her classmates and has an unemployed suicidal father. Nao’s voice is funny, quirky and deep while she talks about life and death, quantum physics and Buddhist nuns. We go from one story line to the other, back and forth between past and present, and so we find ourselves wanting to know what’s going to happen at the end.
A Tale for the Time Being is a beautiful story with touching characters, compelling narrative that is equally magical and wise. It may make you bit sad but it’s a story worth reading.
First post yay! Hello my name is Michelle and i like to read :) this account is to share my love for books and make friends on the way <3 have you read this book? if you have please tell me your thoughts :D

So I write an entire scene from Uinen's POV for next chapter until I remembered that the scene I wrote for should not take place since I don't have the Queen trying to exile Galadriel back to Middle-Earth as it happened in the show. So I'm just sharing it as a standalone what if because i was really happy about that scene 🥹😭😭
[...]
Galadriel must remain by Mairon’s side.
‘Master please’ she implores ‘Remember your love of the Eldar, give him this one chance.’
Ulmo does not answer and she curls her spirit form under the rowing boat Galadriel is standing on, the one currently leading her to the Nùmenorean ship that will travel to Middle Earth.
‘Artanis has rejected Valinor once more, she can pass West no longer.’ the deep cavernous voice of Ulmo throbs in her mind. The boat is now halfway from his destination and she refuses to succumb to despair, instead she sends a wave of disappointment toward her Vala,
‘Do not think for one second that I am unaware of Ossë's and yours actions, Uinen Lady of the Sea.’ Ulmo retorts severely.
She has never been good at confrontations but Ossë is and she feels him wrapping his spirit form around hers protectively.
‘Master, shall we debate the quality of redemption once more? For it was Aulë who sent Uinen to bring me back. Are we to ignore the whispers of Fate now that we are asking you to do the same and for not one soul only; for I know of the dark deeds of Mairon yet we are not to grant mercy to another soul whose brother you are most fond of ?’
There is no answer from the King of the Seas yet Uinen allowed herself a small smile when both of them feel the deepest of waters rush with a mighty will and suddenly the sky above them shift and as Uinen surfaces thousands of white petals are floating down the harbour and Galadriel looks stunned - and afraid.
An eagle flies high above the Meneltarma, silence falls on the city then a soldier shouts to turn the boat around.
Deep from the waters, Ulmo warns them ‘Failure is not an option’ before retreating back into silence once more.

I think all the third-in-the-golden-trio victors need to have a club. I can't remember how many of them there are, I was just reading the one about Tristan you reblogged, so there's him, and my Knox, and I can't remember if there is anyone else.
Perhaps amongst the multiverse there could be a club, or even a center-age version, since they're all around a similar age so could have met in the center. Which one is the victor really depends on who is chosen as volunteer on which year, and what arenas there are to match their skills or not. A center age club or hangout would be real funny tho - at this point, they'd all be possibles, not victors, and that shoots them right back down to regular trainee level, which I find kinda funny because in my head I kinda view the older victors as old and stately, and then you go, nah, they were kids too, werent they.
If there is any of them that were in the same year I mean it's gonna get a bit more toxic possibly, but Tristan was 36 and Knox was 35, so you already have more possibility for inter-year friendship, since they wouldn't be competing for the same place. Idk, just feels like a fun concept
I am all for multiverse shenanigans!
(I do this myself all the time, mainly so unofficial-mentor!Claudius can be super confused by the AUs where he and Selene are together)
I do agree that the one of the most fun things about playing in that era is putting the older / more venerated victors back to the time when they were dumb kids doing dumb kid things, even the ones who sort of had Grown Men vibes even as four-year-olds

(Somewhat inspired by your quantum stuff post) you're pregnant and you realize that the baby gets really active whenever Miguel talks, so you get him talking about something for like 15 minutes so you can feel your little one kick inside you
YES SOOO CUTE
miguel o’hara x pregnant wife! reader
as you lie in bed, feeling the gentle movements of your growing belly, you notice a pattern. each time miguel speaks, your baby becomes incredibly active. it’s as if the sound of his voice brings the little one to life inside you. intrigued by this newfound discovery, you decide to indulge in the sensation.
“miguel," you call out sweetly, enticing him to join you on the bed. "i have something to tell you." he raises an eyebrow, a playful smirk on his lips. "well, mi amor, i’m all ears. what do you want to share?" you take a moment to settle into a comfortable position, propping yourself up with pillows and inviting him to sit by your side. "have you noticed something interesting? our baby seems to get really active whenever you talk."
miguel grin widens, his eyes sparkling with delight. "is that so? well then, i guess i have the power to summon our precious baby. let’s put it to the test." you giggle and lean against his side, resting your head on his shoulder. "so, tell me about your day, miguel. what adventures did you get yourself into?"
he chuckles, his deep voice reverberating through your body. "oh, you know me, love. i had a run-in with some low-level criminals today. they didn't stand a chance against me and my spider-like abilities. i had them webbed up before they even knew what hit them." you listen eagerly, engrossed in his storytelling. as miguel continues to regale you with tales of his escapades, you feel it. a little flutter, a soft kick against the inside of your belly. your eyes widen with excitement, and you press a hand against your stomach, feeling the movements grow stronger with each word that falls from miguel’s lips.
he notices your reaction and pauses, his voice filled with awe and wonder. "did you feel that, cariño? our little one is dancing in there, isn't she?"you nod, a smile spreading across your face. "yes, miguel. it’s amazing. keep talking. i want to feel more." and so, for the next fifteen minutes, miguel talks. he talks about his adventures, his dreams, his hopes for the future. he whispers sweet words of love and devotion, his voice becoming a lullaby that soothes not only you but also the tiny life growing within you.
with each passing moment, the kicks and movements become more pronounced, as if the baby is responding to every word, every sentiment shared. it’s a beautiful connection, a testament to the bond between the three of you. as the time comes to an end, miguel falls silent, simply cherishing the sight of you, your swollen belly, and the life that blossoms within it. he leans down and presses a gentle kiss to your stomach, a silent promise of love and protection.
“i can't wait to meet you, little one," he whispers, a hint of tears in his eyes. "we’ll be a family, and i’ll always be here for you, no matter what.” you rest your hand on his cheek, a content smile on your face. "and i’ll be here with you, miguel. always." together, you bask in the warmth of each other's presence, knowing that this bond, this love, will only grow stronger as your journey continues.
