With how Piers, Leon, Raihan and Sonia were all contemporaries during the same gym challenge (going by the manga and some TCG art), what exactly was Marnie doing around this time? Was an adorable toddler following Piers around the whole time? Was at least one parent still in the picture back then?

I GRADE: Chairman Rose - Final Fates
Sword/Shield: After his Darkest Day operation proves a failure that compromised Galar’s safety, a remorseful Rose steps down as Chairman and turns himself in to the authorities. The last heard of him is that he’s been sentenced to community service in Galar’s mines.
Anime: Rose freaks out at Zacian and Zamazenta showing up to fight Eternatus and stop the Darkest Day, banging against his helicopter window and yelling at Eternatus to not let itself be defeated. Eternatus responds by shooting the helicopter down. Later, the downed helicopter is found empty, meaning that Rose and Oleana have escaped and are on the run. They are last seen incognito outside of the Wyndon stadium near the end of the series.
Twilight Wings: Rose holds the opening ceremony for Leon’s match against Raihan. The series is then confirmed to be a prequel to Sword/Shield, meaning that he will meet that fate.
Pokemon Adventures: Technically the same as his Sword/Shield fate, but with a few differences before his voluntary arrest: Rose mitigated excessive damage from the Darkest Day with contingencies in place, Sordward and Shielbert were meant to defeat Eternatus instead of Leon and if they failed Rose himself was prepared to step up and fight it himself, and he is injured in the process of doing so but rescued by Bede and several others, whom he also saves from an attack by Eternatus in turn and showcases genuine care toward.
TCG: He’ll be a villain, fail and get himself arrested here too if defeated. Yawn.
And now, my personal ranking, countdown-style:
4. Anime - I’m sorry, but Rose being reduced to a loony, unrepentant villain and then receiving the complete non-conclusion of escaping off-screen just doesn’t sit right with me.
3. TCG - The usual fate devoid of any larger context since it’s just a card game.
2. Twilight Wings & Sword/Shield - I appreciate that Rose accepted responsibility for his mistakes, but I still wish those mistakes had more build-up and narrative logic behind them, and that we could actually see him in his community service work rather than just Oleana.
1. Pokemon Adventures - A better take on Rose’s story and fate from the games, especially in how it makes him smarter and takes pains to highlight that he’s a good person at heart.
