But I know it was a mistake—and somebody out there will make things right, someday.” - from “Rey’s Survival Guide” For the millionth time, I am so frustrated by how this amazing story was treated on the big screen (@johnboyega I have nothing against you or your performance, both were superb and you’re an amazing person). Rey is stranded on Tatooine, another desert planet for her to waste away on, she has been separated (temporarily) from her one true love. She’s been abandoned, cut off from her own soul. This truly must have been a mistake. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed (looking at you fanfic writers/content creators). We all need to write our own story now. Stories can be broken, but they never truly die. Someday, these invisible wounds will heal. Rey will see a familiar face, one she’s been searching for her whole life, and all will be right in the galaxy. When the Dyad is reunited, balance will be restored. The dust will be blown away and flowers will grow. I feel it in my bones. Don’t let this story die or rot. This story needs our help to heal, to re-weave its threads, repair its sails. We can do it, together. We can deliver Rey from obscurity. We can save Ben Solo. Making sense of tros ending and death of ben solo (please read, it made me cry after I wrote it because it kind of gave me closure)

Okay first, this is long and kind of rambly so I’m sorry in advanced but I just have a lot of feelings (also there are annotations on the bottom because I have more feelings).

The end was absolutely unsatisfying and there was so many things that were annoying in the whole tros movie, but the it showed us how ben and rey are two forces within the same force, a force dyad, a shared soul, so when they’re life force was sucked out by palpatine and ben eventually healed rey after climbing up a fucking rock wall of a ditch to fucking space hades, he gave her what was left of his force, THEIR force to save her. And while it was so unsatisfying to have rey just go to Tatooine with nothing but a droid and a lightsaber*, alone like she started**, but the trilogy made it clear that Rey is a jedi and jedi traditionally don’t have attachments, so it’s showing that rey is a true jedi down to the point where she has no attachments, even in her upbringing her only attachment was to the parents she was waiting for and she was completely willing to stay on jakku alone forever when she first met bb8 and finn, willing to be alone like she ended up in the end, but now rey does have one real attachment, she has their soul, Ben’s soul, and that’s why she’s so content with watching the sunrise on tatooine, because it represented a new beginning for their two souls but this time, their souls are together.

*I wish her lightsaber was a saberstaff

**also this kinda shows how droids just sort of pick their master’s after awhile eg. c3po went with Padme and Anakin, r2 was on a mission and was like fuck yeah I’ll stay with you luke skywalker after he found obi wan, and now bb8 just being like hey poe bye poe hi rey, they kinda just get drawn to new masters

We really can't talk about Love & Star Wars without talking about Cal Kestis and Merrin, the Nightsister, now can we? Its as synonymous as Ben & Rey, as Anakin & Padme, as Han & Leia! Some of you may already know that our Executive Producer, Writer, and Director Maria Espino is the CEO/President of The Last Prophecy Gaming, Inc. --- so video games and the stories told with them is very near and dear to Maria's heart. This one most especially.

Here we discuss what makes this pair so connected and also the challenges that they will face together. We also dive a little bit into the idea of bringing them into this trilogy at such an older age --- they would be in their 70s during Ben & Rey's timeline --- and what they may have to teach others.
