Rogers: The Musical Live Reaction
I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Rogers: The Musical live this past weekend. I previously wrote a first reactions post based on a video I saw right before the musical opened to the public. Now I’m coming back with a sort of part 2 that includes my thoughts and reactions after seeing this musical in person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Enjoy!
Based on the video/live stream I watched, I felt the size of the stage didn’t play to the strengths of the ensemble, which I definitely think is smaller than the casts of Aladdin or Frozen. However, after watching it live, the spacing or staging of the ensemble didn’t make the stage feel so bare or empty. Kinda noticeable, but not overwhelmingly like how I thought it would be based on the live stream.
The mixing of the music (audio) and live singing wasn’t always the best. I was blown away by the performers' performance from the video I watched, especially by the actor portraying pre-serum/old Steve. While it may have not been the exact same actors, hearing the songs live was another experience. Blown away by the cast’s vocals, which is why I was a little bummed when the music was a little too loud or overpowered the performer.
Compared to Frozen, I really liked Rogers blend of projection screens for backgrounds with physical sets. The most common physical set piece was some buildings that would cover the wings, but the matching look between the physical and projected buildings was very pleasant.
In all fairness, I watched the video I based my first reaction on at like 1 am, so I may have not caught everything. On that note, I love how in the performance I saw, when Steve cuts Nick Fury off at the end of his song, he ended with a little nod to Aladdin by singing “you ain’t never had a friend like me” (EDIT: I went to see Rogers a second time that day, and it seems this bit is somewhat improvised since in my second viewing, Nick Fury started singing the chorus of "Single Ladies")
Additionally, don’t know if I missed it or the recording didn’t have the background projections in frame, but I loved the projections that were included in the Time Stone/Steve duet scene. The legacy of Captain America and sort of history is incapsulated first in three images/projections: Steve in First Avenger, holding Mjolnir, and Sam Wilson’s Captain America, then a projection of Peggy, which makes sense since this musical seems to focus on their love story. Absolutely wonderful job of underlining the lyrics and what Steve may be thinking about as he sings them.
It was a lot clearer when I watched Rogers: The Musical live that after "Save the City," Steve Rogers is joined by his older self rather than his pre-serum self. The dialogue clarified this for me, so I think my sleepiness hit when watching this part of the live stream.
Since this musical started off as a joke in Hawkeye or the MCU, and pulls it’s story beats from the MCU rather than previously unadapted material from the comics, I personally enjoyed how the comic book sequence had the cells consist of stills from Captain America: The First Avenger.
Going back to the way beginning, I loved the pre-show music and how it immediately sets the mood of seeing a show that begins in the 1940s.
I know Rogers: The Musical is only running for about one more month at California Adventure Park (that is assuming it will not have another engagement in the future at the Hyperion Theatre), but one other note I want to add is watch from the mezzanine (2nd) level. Now to be fair, any level or seat is going to have a pretty good view, but if you want the best in my opinion, then you gotta find a spot on the mezzanine.
Tumblr media
The Hyperion Theatre has three levels (orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony), and theoretically, I've watched this musical from each level. The video I first watched was recorded from the orchestra level, my first time seeing it live was from the mezzanine (accessed through virtual queue), and the second time I watched it live was from the balcony (available by doing stand-by). While a video isn't always able to capture the entire experience, the Hyperion has a fairly large stage. Therefore, if sitting on the ground level, it is likely you will constantly be moving your head to take in all the action on-stage (this isn't necessarily a bad thing, just something to take into consideration). The balcony also has a fairly decent view of the whole stage. That being said, you are on the third/highest level, so I noticed that the very top of the building set pieces or projections were obstructed by the angle you were viewing the show from. Likewise, the balcony is steep, so there are safety bars in every row, which in some instances slightly blocked my view of the performer.
Tumblr media
That is why I say love sitting in the mezzanine (and argue it's the best spot). You are slightly elevated and can see the whole stage without any obstructions (as long as the people sitting around you are respectful and don't hold their phones up). Plus, you're close to the action, but it's not right in your face.
.
.
.
This turned out super long, but I don't really think that is surprising to anyone. Anyway, seeing this musical live confirmed that yes I really do love it and hope that it returns since I love this theatre so much, which makes me happy it currently is housing a production (and also because I only had one day to get my fill of seeing it live). Go see it if you have a chance, it's a lot of fun!
-Dakota Wren
(Bonus: I wanted to be present and just enjoy the show, so I really didn't take any photos. Here are a couple that I did take though. Apologies for the poor quality, but enjoy these little glimpses!)

002. Curious Archer :)
Thank you :D!
When I started shipping them:
From the moment they were shown on screen together! I just instantly fell in love with them! Even though we didn’t know much about Robin yet, they seemed to fit together so well. Then OUAT went on a break and I spent the whole time reading Curious Archer fanfiction and making headcanons. They turned out to be even more amazing then I thought!
Tumblr media
My thoughts:
ASJKSSGDHDIGHS! They mean so much to me! I find I can relate to both of them, which I love! They adressed Tilly/Alice’s mental health and how they dealt with it as a couple, which was so important and something a lot of people, including myself can relate to. And they addressed the fact that Robin was trying to be someone she wasn’t to fit in. Then when she met Alice, she realized she didn’t have to do that anymore. She found someone who loved her for who she was and the same goes for Robin accepting Alice even though she new Alice saw the world differently. They’re perfect for eachother!
Tumblr media
What makes me happy about them:
That they exist! That they love and support one another unconditionally. The way they look at eachither and complete eachother! All there scenes, both individually and together.
Tumblr media
What makes me sad about them:
That we didn’t get more of them. I so wish they were introduced earlier in the shows run.
Tumblr media
Things I look for in fanfic:
Oooh! I love any and all Curious Archer fan fics. I’ve got a bookmark list with about 200 fics of them xD and Knightrook written by some seriously awesome writers. I can’t reccomend all the stories enough! My name on Ao3 is zacobyz, if anyone’s interested!
I tend to look for more angsty fics, usually Hyperion Heights based. I really love it if there’s Knightrook or Zelena and Margot’s mother-daughter relationship!
Tumblr media
My wishlist:
Mmm. I’m not sure I understand this question. If it refers to fanfic then I have quite a number. Maybe one day I’ll get round to writing them. I would love (and have started writing, but it’s no where near finished) a Harry Potter AU with Alice, Robin and maybe Henry as the Golden Trio with a mixture of both OUAT and Harry Potter characters. I’d love pretty much any musical theatre au. I would literally die for a Bare: A Pop Opera, Next To Normal, Heathers or Spring Awakening AU (those are some of my favourites and I can picture the two of them in all of them).
Tumblr media
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
Nooooooooo! They have to be together!! Oh my God this hurts my soul! I love the idea of Ivy as an ex from a messy and probably destructive relationship with Tilly. Bring on the angst! But I don’t know who I’d want her to end up with. Maybe Anna of Arendelle? I can see them both getting on really well. I can’t bring myself to pick anyone else for Robin. They were meant to be together!
My happily ever after for them:
They’d just be living happily in the united realms, occasionally going on Adventures to the different kingdoms. I’d want them to go back to their own time with the rest of the Hyperion Heights crew. Alice would continue to work for Tiana and I’d like Robin to work with her mum and Aunt. Both their parents would live nearby and they’d make sure to spend a lot of time with them. Alice and Rogers would especially be wanting to make up for lost times. They’d have their wedding at the same place Charming and Snow got married in the pilot. They’d have their honeymoon split between Wonderland, Oz and Neverland. They’d take frequent trips to wonderland and they’d get a cat named Dinah and a dog named Toto. They’d eventually have kids. I can see them with 3 girls. And they’d just be living the good life.

Chapter 18: Scorose
Today was the day.The day Scorpius's wildest dreams come true.He was finally convinced Rose Weasley to marry him.
He was preparing himself in his room. But,he wasn't alone. His brother everything but blood Albus Severus Potter was with him, trying to calm his best friend down.
"So...You're ready to get hitched to my fiery cousin or what? You're not getting the cold feet are you?Because if you are and leave her at the altar you won't be surviving tonight."
"What are you talking about Al,of course I'm ready,And I'm not 'getting the cold feet' as you eloquently put it.I'm just a little bit nervous, that's all.Not bad nervous mind you.I'm so happy that I don't know what I'm doing. And,just so you know,I am not nor will be leaving Rose.I just wish that my mum was here too."
As soon as he finished his sentences his father entered the room.Draco was happy too.Because finally, someone in the family got to marry the love of his life.
"Look at that.Someone is looking very dashing today.Rose and her family headed to Hogwarts 10 minutes ago.You boys ready to go?" asked Draco.
"I sure am ready Uncle Dray. However,I don't know about the groom." said Albus Severus.
"Born ready." said Scorpius with a smug face.
"Ok,let's floo to Hogwarts."
After they arrived at the castle they headed to the Great Hall. The Great Hall was decorated with unwilting flowers, ribbons etc.Guests were sitting on the benches.Everything was perfect.
After Minerva McGonagall retired Neville Longbottom was appointed as Headmaster.Headmaster Longbottom greeted the Malfoys and Albus Severus Potter.
"Hello, gentlemen.Bride and the girls are in the Hospital Wing. They getting ready".
"Roger that,Longbottom. How are you?" asked Draco.
"Everything's good.I'll be preparing the castle for the next term 2 weeks later.Let's go inside." said Neville.
...Meanwhile in the Hospital Wing...
"Don't you have to go to the Great hall, mum? You know, since you'll be officiating my wedding as Minister." asked Rose.
Hermione laughed at her daughter's request. She removed a box from her purse. In the box, there was a delicate diamond necklace.
"After I give you this I'll be out of your hair. This necklace belonged to my mum.Her grandmother gave it to her as a graduation gift after she finished university.Said this must be inherited from mothers to daughters throughout the family. And today it's your turn to have it.I hope you'll have the chance to give it to your daughter or daughter-in-law."
Rose got a little teary at her mother's words. And she embraced her mum as a single person for the last time.
"Thank you,mum.I love you."
"Okay,no more crying.Now let's go.We don't want to your soon-to-be husband keep waiting,do we?"
"Let's.I'm ready."
And they exited from the Hospital.
...In front of the Great Hall Doors...
"We are they? They should be here at any moment." wondered Ron.
As soon as he asked that question Ron saw his baby girl and gave her his arm.He said his goodbyes at the home. The doors opened and the music started.Hermione walked in first, then Rose walked in towards to in her dad's arms. They arrived to the altar and Ron looked at his girl last time.
"Take good care of my baby girl,Scorp. And welcome to the family."
Hermione began to officiate her daughter's wedding.
"We gathered today to celebrate a beginning of new lifes.Lives of Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy and my first child Rose Granger-Weasley.I granted my permission as a mother before and now I'll ask the question as a Minister.Do you Scorpius Hyperion vow to care, cherish, protect and love Rose Granger-Weasley for the rest of your lives?"
"I do,a million times I do."
"And you Rose Granger-Weasley,do you vow to care, cherish, protect and love Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy for the rest of your lives?"
"Yes,I do."
"And now,I pronounce you as husband and wife. You may kiss the bride,Mr.Malfoy."
The newlyweds didn't even want to be ordered to kiss to begin their new life.

Last Goodbye
@a-monthly-rumbelling For some of the images on the mood board.
WARNINGS - Character death. Cancer. Mourning. Angst.
-x-x-x-
Belle’s traveled to America to find Weaver and carry out Lacey’s last wishes.
-x-x-x-
Finding Detective Weaver hadn’t been easy. Belle had been hampered by the fact he didn’t appear to have a first name, and everyone in the Hyperion Heights police department looked at her as if they’d seen a ghost. She’d expected that reaction, of course, she was used to it, she was Lacey’s twin after all. Finally, she’d managed to track down Weaver’s old partner, Rogers. He’d been skittish about speaking to her, but at least he hadn’t done the usual and blurt out something like ‘Damn you’re the spitting image of Lacey’, that was never going to get easier to hear.
Rogers listened to what she had to say and shrugged; “The thing about Weaver is he values his privacy.”
Belle swallowed her sigh; “Lacey told me as much, which is why she asked me to go to him, rather than send a lawyer.”
Rogers cocked his head at her and frowned; “Why didn’t you talk to him at the funeral?”
“Weaver was at Lacey’s funeral?”
She listened in shock as he explained how Weaver had taken compassionate level and flew to Australia as soon as he’d gotten word of Lacey’s passing. He’d been right there in the chapel, and never introduced himself, or spoken a word to her. Thinking back Belle had a dim recollection of a man in a dark denim standing at the back of the chapel.
“He came back a few days after the funeral, that’s when we found out he’d quit, cleaned out his desk and left.”
Belle took a shaky breath and tried to keep her tone level; “Since Weaver didn’t take a moment to offer his condolences I’ve had to fly half-way around the damn world to carry out my sister’s last wishes, so how about you make this hell of a trip a tiny bit easier for me and give me his goddamn address?”
Rogers handed over a folded piece of paper; “Weaver was a tough one, but he fell apart when Lacey left.”
“Yeah, I know the feeling. She left me twice.”
-o0o-
It was a four-hour drive from Hyperion Heights to the little coastal town Weaver had relocated to. Belle didn’t take in any of the scenery, she just kept her eyes on the road. When there was a break in the music, she could hear the gentle slosh of the bottle in the back seat. She ignored it, wouldn’t, couldn’t let herself think about what, who was sitting in a box next to that bottle.
-o0o-
Rogers had called ahead to warn him, so he’d spent most of the last few hours keeping watch on the road from his porch. Weaver watched the little rental car pull up to his house. He braced himself, but the shock of seeing someone who looked so like Lacey get out still knock the breath from his lungs. As she got closer, he could see the differences, subtle things in the way she carried herself, little gestures that Lacey would never have made.
He stood up as she reached the steps of his porch; “Miss French.”
“Mr Weaver.”
During the long tense moment that followed Weaver learned the Belle did share some traits with Lacey. He recognized that look of burning anger simmering in her eyes. From Lacey that had meant a yelling match followed by hot, angry make-up sex. From Belle he suspected that the yelling match would be followed by him getting slapped in the face.
“Would you like to come inside?”
“I suppose that would be best.”
Oh yeah, he’d be lucky if a slap was all he got. As soon as she was clear of the door Belle spun on her heel and glared at him.
“You could have saved me a long trip, had you bothered to introduce yourself at the funeral.”
He softly closed the door and moved away from it.
“I was planning to, but after I heard your eulogy I couldn’t.”
“Why the hell not?”
Weaver glanced at her, but quickly looked away; “You want a drink?”
He heard rustling as she reached into the large bag over her shoulder; “Lacey thought you might need a few. She sent you this.”
Belle was holding out a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue. Weaver took it from her with a frown; “This makes no sense. This is my favourite tipple, but why would she send you here with this when she never told me she was sick?”
“Oh, for fucks sake!”
Weaver jerked, for a second there it was as if Lacey was in the room. As it turned out she was in a way. Belle lifted an urn from her bag and set it on his coffee table, then she sat down on his couch.
“I’ll take that drink, please.”
He bounced the bottle of Johnnie Walker in his hand and picked up two glasses from the shelf. His hands went through the familiar motions of cracking the seal and unscrewing the lid, but his eyes never left the urn, even as he poured two very large measures into the waiting glasses. He handed Belle a glass and was about to take a sip from his own when he paused and reached for a third glass. He filled it and place in in front of the urn.
Belle and he raised their glasses in a silent toast to the dead. The silence lingered for long minutes afterwards until Belle spoke.
“She just arrived, no phone call, just walked into my library with a grin on her face and said ‘wotcher sis’, like it had only been a week since we’d seen each other not three years.
When she told me why she had come home, that she was dying of the same cancer that had taken our mom, to be honest I felt like throttling her. It’s so hard watching a some one you love wither away, and she’d come home so I’d have to watch her fade.”
Belle snorted and took a sip of her drink; “I actually asked her why she hadn’t stayed in America with all of her precious friends.”
“What did she say?”
“That she didn’t know how to get through death with her friends, but she did with me.”
He didn’t know what to say. Lacey had sought the comfort of family in her final days, he could understand that, but by doing so she had placed an impossible burden on her sister. He took a swing of whiskey and sighed; “I wish she’d told me.”
“Would you have stayed with her to the end?”
“Yes.”
Belle reached over for the bottle and topped up their glasses. Weaver was surprised at how much she had drunk, he’d not noticed her keeping pace with him.
“I thought you were just another of her fuck buddies at first.”
He huffed; “Yeah we started that way, but then we were something more. At least I thought we were.”
The bitter sting that Lacey hadn’t told him of her cancer had changed into a dull ache beneath his ribs, a constant companion to the hole in his heart.
“Watching mom die killed our father, did you know that?”
He shook his head. Lacey hadn’t talked much about her parents.
“Yeah. Destroyed him, the man he was died the day of her funeral, the bitter empty man he became walked around for another six years before his heart gave out.”
The whiskey caught the fading light as he rolled the glass between his hands as he considered her words. He had been a jaded and bitter bastard before Lacey had crash-landed in his life. Had she cared enough about him to not want him to watch her die?
“She could have given me the choice.”
He felt Belle shrug; “We lived through what happened to dad after he made the choice to stay. I can understand why she wouldn’t want to risk that happening again.”
He was about to say that not knowing she was ill had pretty well fucked him up anyway, except it hadn’t, not it that way. He was grieving, but he wasn’t self-destructive, he’d quit his job partly because he was tired of it, but mostly because he knew it would be far too easy for him to take his grief out on the scumbags of Hyperion Heights. He couldn’t help but smile at the urn, he could almost see Lacey raising an eyebrow at him and pointing out her way was the right way.
For the first time since they had started talking, he turned his gaze from the urn and onto Belle. The fire had drained from her eyes, replaced with sadness and something else he couldn’t quite place. Whatever it was it set his copper instincts tingling; “Why did she want you to bring her to me?”
“She wants us to scatter her ashes together, into the sea at sunset she said.”
They both looked out of the window, the sun was getting low. Weaver reached for the bottle of whisky and Belle for the urn, as one they rose. He led her through the house to the back door and the little path that wound its way to the shore. It was strange, Belle fell into step with him as easily as Lacey had, but it so different.
They stopped on the edge of the waves. The setting sun had painted the sky in shades of magenta and orange.
“Lacey had a lipstick that colour in her goth phase. The purple not the orange.”
Weaver nodded; “She did her nails in something close to the orange once.”
Belle’s hands were trembling as she offered the urn to Weaver. He tucked the whiskey bottle under his arm and steadied the urn with one hand as he unscrewed the lid with the other. She looked up at him, a question in her eyes. He knew she wanted to know if he wanted to say something.
“Love you Lacey. Safe travels sweetheart.”
It wasn’t much, he’d never been a poet, but it felt right. Together the tipped the urn. The wind caught the ashes and scattered them over receding sea. Belle held the urn loosely by her side as Weaver unscrewed the whiskey bottle and poured a large shot into the water. He offered the bottle to Belle, who took a swig and handed it back to him. As Weaver took a drink Belle shivered.
“She went out on her own terms at the end, but she was very sick. I had to help her.”
Weaver wrapped his arm around her shoulder. He knew now why Lacey had wanted them to do this together. From what he’d seen at the funeral Belle didn’t have many people to help her through this. He’d cut himself off from everyone who might have helped him. Lacey had brought them together so they could support each other.
They’d have to talk at some point, but for now they stood together as the tide ebbed and the colours of the sunset faded from the sky.

Knight Rook a History: Love - Hyperion Hysteria (Day 4)
@knight-rook-a-history
A missing scene from 7x17 “Chosen”. I might have bended canon slightly. Curious Archer with a side of Knight Rook and Golden Rook. This turned out longer than I expected and essentially got on my nerves since I had problems fitting it into canon but I hope you’ll like it.
Read on FFN or AO3
Tilly was tapping her foot against the floor of Rogers’ car, trying to keep her movements in tact with the music but despite her best efforts she inevitably caught herself rushing, her nerves getting the best of her, and she had to force her muscles to relax. She’d hoped the music would be able to distract her but it wasn’t working. Rogers had ushered her out of the apartment and was driving her to the station. The Candy Killer was on the move again and they all remembered all too well what had happened the last time that was the case. They didn’t want to repeat the experience so Weaver had thought it best if she stayed at the station.
“Hey,” Rogers called out softly, drawing her attention. “Everything will be okay,” he said, glancing at her as if having heard the nervous string of thoughts in her mind.
She nodded but her heart was heavy. There was a killer on the loose and even if she was safe, someone else could get hurt. And Rogers was playing it cool but he was nervous too. She could see it. She’d learned to read his body language. They’d only been living together for a little while but they’d fallen into a comfortable routine around each other as if they’d been roommates forever. It was nice feeling welcome and wanted somewhere, feeling at home. She’d forgotten what that was like.
They finally got to the station after what seemed like eternity. Weaver met them at the entrance.
“Is something wrong?” Rogers asked when he saw his partner’s expression. Tilly was impressed how fast he’d learned to pick up on Weaver’s body language. They’d been partners for a short time, yet he could read him just as well as she could and she’d spent a lot more time around Weaver.
“Henry Mills’ car was found abandoned, with a flat tire. He might have just taken a taxi since he was in a hurry but we have a killer on the loose who’s obsessed with his book.” Weaver didn’t finish his thought but they all knew what he was getting at.
“I’ll call the airline to see if he got on that flight,” Rogers said, already taking his phone out of his pocket. “You keep her safe,” he said to Weaver and then turned to Tilly. “Everything will be okay,” he said again, placing a hand on her arm as if to reassure her once again.
She nodded and gave him a little smile to return the favor. He was so protective of her, almost like a father. She wished she could do something to help him too but right now the only thing she could do for him was to listen to him and stay put.
Rogers left them and she followed Weaver to the office the two detectives shared. When they entered, she saw that the office wasn’t empty. Margot was there but Weaver had blocked her from her view before that.
Margot immediately jumped to her feet when she heard them enter. “Any news from my mom?” she asked, looking at Weaver with so much panic in her eyes and Tilly understood who the Candy Killer was targeting now. Her heart squeezed in her chest.
“No, I’m just bringing Tilly in,” Weaver said coldly and Tilly barely resisted the impulse to scold him for it. Margot was obviously in a fragile state of mind, yet he didn’t show any sympathy.
Margot looked at her as if she was only seeing her now.
“Hello, Margot.” Tilly tried to smile but Margot’s dejected nod of a greeting discouraged her.
“She’ll stay here with you,” Weaver said, looking at Margot but she didn’t seem to register the words. “I’ll go see if Rogers needs any help.” He looked at Tilly when he still didn’t get a reaction from Margot.
She nodded and he left, leaving them alone. Tilly suspected that might have been a part of the plan since he didn’t seem to know how to get through to Margot. She followed him with her gaze until he disappeared out of sight before turning to look at her company.
Margot had returned to the chair behind Rogers’ desk she’d occupied before, looking like she was on the verge of a breakdown. Tilly saw her hand hover over her phone on the desk as if she wanted to pick it up and call her mom but she pulled it away. There was a packet of candy next to the phone that wasn’t even opened.
“Do you mind if I sit next to you?” Tilly asked, breaking the heavy silence.
Margot didn’t react at first as if she hadn’t heard her. “No,” she responded all of a sudden as if waking up from a trance. “Of course not.”
Tilly took Weaver’s chair from behind his desk and placed it next to Margot’s. “How are you feeling?” she asked as she sat down, leaving her backpack on the floor.
“My mom’s in a very real danger of getting killed,” Margot said, her fake upbeat tone bouncing off the walls of the office like a whiplash. “I can’t believe it.” Her hands dropped in her lap. “I traveled to the other end of the world to run away from her and now I may lose her,” she sounded ready to start crying, her voice becoming shakier as she spoke and her entire body slumping against the chair in defeat.
“No, don’t talk like that,” Tilly objected ardently, drawing Margot’s attention to her. “Weaver and Rogers won’t let anything happen to your mom,” she held her gaze. “They helped me when the killer tried to frame me for the murders. They’re gonna protect your mom too.” She reached out and took Margot’s hand. “You won’t lose her.”
“Thank you,” Margot squeezed her hand and managed a small smile.
Tilly smiled in response and let go of her hand. Not that she minded holding it but she didn’t want to overstep any boundaries. “So, what are you doing?” she asked, looking around. It seemed like time itself had stopped in the office. Everything was so lifeless.
“Besides freaking out, you mean?” Margot tried to joke but it came out strained. “Nothing really,” she said quickly, trying to cover up the slip up.
Tilly noticed that she was now fidgeting with her bracelets, pulling at them as if she wanted to rip them apart and be rid of them.
“You need a distraction,” she said and reached for her backpack. She opened it, hoping that she was carrying something that could help. “I’ve got just the thing,” she said when she saw the chessboard inside it, her face lighting up.
“What is it?” Margot leaned forward, her interest piqued.
“Do you know how to play chess?” Tilly asked as she took the board out and dropped her backpack back on the floor.
“No,” Margot shook her head, watching her take out the chess pieces as if she’d never seen such things before.
“Well, you know what they say – there’s no time like the present,” Tilly started putting the pieces at their places on the board. “I’ll teach you.”
“I don’t think that’s a –“
“It’s the best idea,” Tilly interrupted her. “You need something to occupy your mind and chess is the perfect thing for that,” she said as she looked at her.
Margot looked at her skeptically but finally budged, “Okay.”
Tilly gave her a wide, excited smile and started explaining the rules to her. Soon they were playing, Tilly helping Margot out and guiding her in her moves.
“You’re really good at this,” Margot said well into their fifth game. “Or I really suck at it,” she added as Tilly captured her queen.
“Probably a bit of both,” Tilly teased.
“Hey!” Margot protested but gave her a smile.
“You’re doing great,” Tilly praised her because it was true. Margot was a quick learner.
They kept playing, Tilly giving more instructions and Margot mastering the moves almost immediately. They only stopped when Weaver returned to tell them he’d spoken to both Rogers and Roni. Margot’s mom was all right and Rogers had identified the killer. They were gonna take care of him as soon as Rogers brought in Henry Mills who he’d managed to find alive and whole.
“You should eat something,” Weaver said as he left the sandwiches he’d brought on the desk.
Tilly immediately grabbed one and started unpacking it since she was famished.
Margot hesitated though. “I’m... actually hungry,” she said, sounding surprised.
“Intense thinking has that effect,” Tilly said and took a bite from her sandwich, watching with satisfaction as Margot picked the other one.
“I see you’re playing chess,” Weaver noted.
“Yeah,” Margot nodded, struggling with the wrapping of her sandwich. “Tilly taught me.” She looked at her and gave her a smile.
Tilly smiled back, keeping her mouth closed since she was still chewing.
“I see. I can leave you alone then?” Weaver asked but it didn’t sound like a question as he was already moving towards the door.
“We’re good,” Tilly said and bit into her sandwich again.
He exited the office, leaving them to the game and their sandwiches. They played some more, Margot getting even better at it. She even managed to capture Tilly’s rook with a clever move that she hadn’t seen coming. She was impressed.
Weaver soon returned though, interrupting them again.
“I just got off the phone with your mom,” he turned to Margot. “She’s fine and the killer is captured.”
“Oh, thank god,” Margot exhaled loudly, the pressure rolling off her. “Can I go see her?” she jumped out of her chair, ready to bolt for the door.
“I’ll go bring the killer in and then Rogers will drive you to the bar.”
“Okay,” Margot nodded enthusiastically. “Thanks.”
Weaver headed out again.
“Thank you,” Margot turned to Tilly.
“I didn’t do anything.”
“That’s not true. You were practically babysitting me and I can’t thank you enough for the support. I probably would’ve lost it if it weren’t for your distraction technique.” Margot smiled at her yet again. “And now I have a new skill I can brag to my mom about,” she flipped her hair dramatically.
Tilly laughed at her theatrics. “I’m glad I could help,” she said, happy to see Margot wasn’t in such low spirits anymore.
“So? Wanna finish the game?” Margot asked as she plopped herself down on the chair. “I might win this time.”
“I’d like that,” Tilly said, redirecting her attention back to the chess board. It was her turn.
They didn’t manage to finish the game though since Rogers arrived shortly to drive Margot home.
She grabbed her phone, shoving it into the pocket of her jeans, and leapt out of her chair. She stopped at the door and looked back at Tilly. “Thank you again and I’ll see you around.”
“See you,” Tilly said and waved her goodbye.
Her gaze fell on the forgotten packet of candy. She opened it and took one. She looked at the board and made her last move, checkmating Margot’s king. Well, Margot still had a long way to go with chess but she certainly was an expert on candy. The ones she’d picked tasted divine and Tilly quickly fell in love with them.

Wedding Bells
AO3 Link
Summary: After Rogers was involved in an unfortunate accident, Alice thought she wouldn't have anyone to walk her down the aisle, until something unexpected happened.
Notes: Disclaimer: I don’t own Once Upon A Time or any of the characters and storylines in the show. This is just a fanwork made for fun.
@panchibust prompted:  Zeus brings rumple and belle back to life for alice's wedding so rumple can give her away(rogers can't bc he broke a leg ) alice can't stand og. Hook so , she wants her second dad to do it...
I know somebody else came with this idea here in tumblr so I tried to find the post and link it here, but I couldn’t find it for some reason. If you know who did it, please tell me so I can give the person the credits.
The backroom of the United Realms’ castle was filled of stuff that hadn’t being used for decorating the great hall for the wedding. Regina had been really kind in offering the place to host their ceremony, but she was really found of her niece, Robin and was willing to do anything to see her happy, so Alice just went with the flow and started planning tings more excitedly than ever.
They had gone to a place called New York for their gowns, because Robin insisted in wearing something modern and that showed everyone that they lived two different realities at the same time, some days running through wild woods with a bow, an arrow and some magical powers and other days just chilling in their comfortable Hyperion Heights’ apartment, watching some movies or TV shows. The wedding couldn’t be any less unique.
Everything was turning out to be perfect until three days ago. Rogers had gone on a little mission with Henry – something about Aladdin getting kidnapped – and broke his leg. Now he was stuck in a wheelchair, taking a few painful steps with the help of a pair of crutches from time to time, but not really being able to use them for long.
So, there in the backroom he was, hearing a beautiful tailored suit and staring at his nervous daughter, who paced around unstoppably around, clearly nervous, straightening the skirts of her beautiful wedding gown repeatedly. She looked gorgeous, her blonde hair pulled up on an elegant loose bun, the off-the-shoulder fluff white sleeves of the dress, holding it perfectly in place and the tight corset accentuating the lines of her waist.
"I could push the chair," Alice suggested,
"What? No," Rogers shook his head. "I was supposed to lead you, not the other way around."
She sniffled, falling on the chair in from of him and pulling on a sad face that reminded Rogers of when she was just a little girl scared of nightmares. Her eyes were watery and her lower lip trembling. He hated to see her about to cry like this and he wished that he could magically heal his stupid leg to do his duty as a father and walk her down the damned aisle.
"But, papa, if you don't do this, then no one else will," she complained, blinking away her tears so she wouldn’t ruin her make-up.
“The other Hook offered, you know,” Rogers chuckle, trying to take a little smile from her, but failing miserably.
“He is not you! And he… Well, I’m not his biggest fan.”
Rogers reached for her hand, giving her a soft grin as he stroked her soft skin, a deep sigh leaving him at the realisation that after this day she would be a married woman and no longer his baby girl. And she in fact looked like a powerful woman dressed like that which made him incredibly proud.
“Come on, Starfish, one bad version of me is better than nothing.”
“I wanted you, or…”
“Or?”
Alice swallowed hard and looked away from his eyes. She didn’t like to talk about how much she missed another important man in her life when her papa was around, but truth be told, deep down, both of them felt a terrible lack of something in their lives now that he was gone.
“Weaver,” she confessed. “He is the only one I can think about doing this. You know, he took care of me for a long time, like another father.”
“Yeah, I know,” Rogers murmured.
“I don’t want to be alone.”
His lips tightened in a thin line. He didn’t want her to feel like that and he felt sad to know he wasn’t going to be able to make her feel safe all the way to the love of her life.
"You won't, there are a lot of people out there who love you," he remarked. "Robin is waiting for you."
"I know," she said with a tiny smile.
There was a sound coming from the hallway then, steps, he could say and he thought that maybe it was someone coming to check on them because of their delay, but when Rogers looked back, he had to blink twice because he couldn’t believe his own eyes. Coming from the open door, dressed in an equally elegant suit as his, with hair way shorter than the last time they saw each other, was Rumplestiltskin, with the woman of his pictures – his wife, Belle – arm by arm with him, stunning and young in a beautiful dark-blue dress.
Behind Rogers, his daughter gasped.
"Alice?"
"Mr. Weaver…. I mean, Rumplestiltskin?" She inquired in awe. "Am I dreaming?"
"No," he answered, with a smile, walking towards her and bringing his young wife along. "Zeus brought me and Belle back, because we still have a few unfinished businesses in this land and you, Alice, are one my biggest."
"Me? Why?"
Unhooking Belle’s arm from his, Rumple took one final step into Alice’s direction and picked both of her hands in his own, causing more tears to blurry her vision at the confirmation that he was really there and wasn’t just a ghost or a product of her mind.
"You need someone to walk you down the aisle, don't you?"
A sad, but hopeful smile crossed her lips as she nodded to him. In the past there were a lot of different moments like this one, in which he would know exactly what she needed and how to calm down her heart. And apart from her papa and Robin, no one else in the world had this power over Alice.
"Would you do this for me?"
"Of course," Rumple guaranteed, looking down at the pirate, who was watching them with a grin. "But only if that is alright for your father."
"Just fine, matte," Rogers agreed, tapping a hand to his arm. "I'm glad to see you back, I've been meaning to thank you."
A new giggle filled the room and all eyes turned to the blue-eyes beauty that stood behind her husband. Not Alice nor Rogers had the chance to meet her before, but with all the information Rumple gave them about her, they felt like somehow, she was already a dear member of the family.
"You must be Belle," Alice said, pulling away from Rumplestitskin to take a better look at her before throwing her arms around the brunette and hugging her tight with a happy sigh. "You are as beautiful as in the pictures."
"Thank you," she said, softly, holding the girl carefully to not ruin her hair. "You are as lovely as Rumplestiltskin said."
For a long moment, everybody was all watery smiles when somebody appeared by the door way and stole their attentions – and in Rumple and Belle’s case, their breath too.
"Alice, it's time to..."  Gideon Gold started but stopped when he set eyes on the two people that shouldn’t be there. "Papa? Mama?"
Their faces lighted up at the sight of him – their precious boy who they hadn’t seen for such a long time – and a sob erupted from Belle’s throat as she threw her arms around Gideon, just a second before Rumple did it himself holding both of them in his warm embrace.
"Oh, my boy," Alice heard him mutter to his son.
She exchanged a happy glare with her papa as they pulled away from the hug, both Rumple and Belle looking at their boy in utter adoration. As someone who had spent years apart from her father, Alice could say they missed each other enormously and had probably been hurting all the time they’ve spent apart.
"How - " Gideon tried to start, but Rumplestiltskin shook his head at him.
"We will have time to explain," he promised.
Gideon nodded, wiping the corners of his eyes with the pads of his thumbs. He too was ready for the ceremony – he was Alice’s best man, while Henry was Robin’s – and straightened his suit jacket before pulling on a smile.
"What if I push the chair so you can both give her away at the altar in somehow?" Belle asked Rogers with a wink, positioning her hands on the handles.
"I would be thankful."
"Come on then."
Leading him through the hallway with her son by her side, Belle slowly disappeared, leaving Alice and Rumplestiltskin – Weaver, to a great part of her mind, which still insisted in calling herself Tilly sometimes – alone in the backroom, just waiting for the bride’s song to start to play, announcing that it was their time to come in.
Alice picked up her bouquet of pink lilies and white roses and bit down her lip as she accepted the arm he was stretching out for her. Now she felt safe. Now she knew that even though her papa would have to be waiting for her at the end of the aisle, somebody would be there for her, to make sure she would make it and that she wouldn’t trip by accident in her brand-new high heels that made her look as tall as Robin.
"Thank you for doing this for me," she said, sincerely. "You've always been a special friend. More like a second father."
"And I care for you as a daughter," Rumplestiltskin answered, touching her cheek and catching one single tear she didn’t realised she had dropped. "Now let's get you married."
The great hall was full of people, some she had never seen in her life, but Robin swore, were old friends of hers; some she knew their faces by heart as knowing that they were there made an inexplicable happiness burst inside her chest. The music was slow and romantic, not of the kind she would enjoy most days, but that today, sounded perfect.
All of their guests were already jaw-dropped when they appeared, probably because none of them expected to see Belle who had been dead for years now, as a guest too, but Alice wasn’t paying attention to their faces now, because all she could see was Robin. She looked beautiful, no sleeves, a tight simple dress with thin skirts, hair tied on a braid, which was adorned with flowers.
She was wearing those silly glasses and, gods, she looked way too cute in them, so cute that Alice wanted to kiss her until she was breathless. Alice tightened her grip on Rumple’s arm and glanced up at him, receiving the gentlest of the smiles back, an encouragement to keep walking towards the woman she loved.
"What the hell is happening in here?" Zelena Mills inquired from her place beside Regina, both of them clearly confused.
Robin, however didn’t waste time with questions, she immediately reached for Alice, taking her hand – the one Rumple offered her – and smiling as widely as she could, her greenish eyes fixed on her blue ones.
"Alice," Robin breathed. "You look amazing."
"Take care of her," Rogers said, winking at her from his wheelchair.
"You've heard the Captain, Miss,” Rumple added. “You better treat this girl well."
“Count on me, I plan on making her the happiest woman in this world, or any other,” Robin said, leading Alice to their places as Rumplestiltskin joined his wife and son to watch the ceremony.
It was impossible for Alice to stop smiling, because she was facing Robin, hearing their ceremonialist, Archie Hopper, say a few lovely words about love and knowing that all people she most loved were gathered there to celebrate their happiness. So, when she was asked to pronounce the final two words, they got out of her in a happy sigh.
“I do,” she said a second before being interrupted by the loveliest kiss she had ever shared in her life.
They were wife and… Wife.

What were Alice and Robin’s bachelorette/hen parties like?
Robin went traditional. Alice... Not so much.
In Hyperion Heights, Robin went out with her mother, her aunt and Sabine. The four women decided to visit some local clubs in their home town. It wasn’t exactly Regina or Zelena’s idea of fun (they certainly didn’t enjoy being hit on constantly by a bunch of sweaty dancers), but Robin seemed to like it a lot and it was her night after all. Sabine, also turned out to enjoy being able to let loose and have a laugh as well - after all, she said some of the clubs they visited were just like a type of a exotic ball! The biggest trouble they had was when Robin started a fight with a woman who made some comments about her outfit. Regina and Zelena split them up and were about to walk away when the girl called Robin a homophobic name. After they were done with her, the four women were escorted out by the bouncer and banned from returning. Robin, still quite intoxicated, found the whole thing hilarious. They ended up back at Roni’s where they nursed hot drinks to try and take off some of the hit they’d all suffer tomorrow and Regina and Zelena shared with Sabine (and a red faced Robin) some fond memories of her more juvenile years.
Meanwhile, Killian took Alice, Henry and Jacinda to the Enchanted Forest for her Hen night because she’s a Jones and they don’t do anything traditionally. Instead they spent the night on the Jolly Roger. The idea is to settle down on the ship, have some drinks, play some music from the battery operated stereo that Henry brought with and to treat the whole night like a cruise, however they ended up running into a familiar not-so-friendly face (Ahab) and were involved in a battle for the Jolly Roger and their lives. Thanks to Alice’s magic, as well as Henry, Jacinda and Killian’s swordsman skills, they were able to win the fight and get away relatively unscathed. Killian attempted to apologise to Alice for ruining her hen party with his bad reputation, however Alice reveals this was the best night she could have thought of. Because there was no greater party for her than having a real adventure with her papa. The rest of the night was spent using the Jolly Roger to travel to nearby wonders and see the sights on the sea and sharing in one last adventure before Miss Alice Jones becomes Mrs Alice Jones.
[P.S. Rumple was invited to join Alice on the Jolly Roger but instead chose to stay and babysit his great Granddaughter - Hen nights and parties aren’t really his thing.]

Partners Beyond The Grave
Series Summary [Beyond The Grave]: There are some relationships that transcend even death. [AKA Rumple has learned to dream walk and keeps an eye out on everyone]
Summary: For Det. Rogers, every heartbeat reminds him that he got a second chance. But even if he is surrounded by the people he cares about, sometimes he wishes his partner was still alive. Because if he ever needed Weaver the most, it’s with the planning of Alice’s wedding.
Author’s Note: This had been a post that @nropay wanted to see as a story...but as I was writing it, ideas just came and it turned from a one-shot to a multi-chapter fic then into a series of fics. Yes, this is just the first chapter of one story. As the series summary above suggests, I’ll be writing Rumple visiting people in their dreams. But the others might just be a one-shot or short chapters unlike this one which will have multiple chapters. So welcome to my Beyond the Grave series.
On AO3
Captain Killian Jones from the Wishverse, most commonly known as Rogers now since he had grown fond of the name, had a very tiring day.
A very tiring and excruciating long day.
Robin and Alice were well on the way of getting married and preparations have started. He wasn’t really a planner of social events himself but he had volunteered to help in anyway.
And so his task had been to drive or sail Zelena around the realms to find all the perfect flowers, dresses, plate setting for the wedding and of course the food to be served. Granted it was no easy task, flowers from Avonlea were a certain but Agrabah and Atlantis were a debate for tableware but Sabine’s cooking from either her kingdom or Hyperion Heights was also a no-brainer for the food.
Mary Margaret was now helping with the preparation as well and things are turning into a big Realm of Stories event rather than the simple gathering Rogers had expected.
Still, he would never deny anything for his little Starfish. If a big, grand wedding would put a smile on her face then a big, grand wedding she will have.
Rogers just hoped he’d still be alive and well when the day finally comes. Who knew planning a wedding was this stressful and he wasn’t even that involved?
Archie had laughed at this when he had first voiced it out at the diner a couple of days ago. He was of course the one officiating, as it has been the tradition in Storybrooke.
“You know I’m not one for big gatherings myself,” admitted Archie. “If I were asked which wedding I treasured the most of being a part of...it was with Rumple and Belle by the well in the forest.”
Rogers has been surprised and had asked how his old partner had tie the knot and he agreed with the town therapist that it had been simple but equally romantic.
Rogers patted his chest where his friend’s heart pulsed inside him. “You’d probably rolling your eyes at all this planning, Weaver. Can’t say I blame you.”
Rogers chuckled and prepared to get some much needed rest after the day he had.
xXx
He was vaguely aware he was dreaming but he didn’t mind at all.
He was sitting in his old hideout, the sea calm and majestic in front of him. The waves were music to his ears as he drank tea and looked out into the horizon.
Gosh he had earned this peace and quiet after the day he had. It was a refreshing sight and to be honest he didn’t want to leave…or wake up.
“Oh you’ll have to wake up eventually, Captain.”
That voice. Rogers was startled out of his seat and he dropped the cup, expecting to feel burns from the tea he had just spilled but nothing came.
“Didn’t anyone tell you that you don’t feel pain in dreams?”
Rogers finally turned to see his partner standing by his hideout’s only entrance and exit, clothes the same from when they had first shook hands back in the Enchanted Forest near Alice’s cottage.
“Weaver--how?” began Rogers as he looked over the man. He looked refresh, happy...nothing like he had ever seen the man before.
Rumple motioned for him to sit down as he conjured a chair of his own. “Dreams are gateways if you will to...well I’m pretty sure you can figure out where.”
Rogers just stared at him as he sat down. “Besides, you have my heart. It appears as though we are connected by more than just our past, Captain.”
That finally got through Rogers as he swallowed and took a seat beside his old partner. “You’re really here...this is real? Or is this all just in my head?”
“It’s a dream Rogers, of course it’s happening inside your head,” reprimanded Rumple good heartedly. But just because it’s happening inside your head, doesn’t mean it’s not real.”
Rogers couldn’t help but roll his eyes. Oh this was Weaver alright. Only he could be that maddeningly mysterious and talking in riddles. “You do know you sound like that old wizard from Harry Potter? I mean I know you’re old but I don’t think long white beard and glasses suit you.”
“May I remind you that you are not far younger than I am,” replied Rumple with a glare. “I could visit Regina next and tell her that you prefer to look like your real age and reverse whatever Lady Tremaine did.”
Rogers raised his hands, real and otherwise, in mock surrender but a smiled played on his face. “Sorry, it’s just...well I’m surprised you’re visiting.”
“Price of giving someone else your heart,” said Rumple with a shrug. “Pretty much felt your stress and I’m here to tell you to calm down and take it easy or else you’ll do a number on my heart and trust it...having a heart attack isn’t fun.”
“You--oh, mate I’m sorry,” said Rogers in surprise. “You did say earlier that we’re connected by more than just our pasts now.”
Rumple nodde but then smiled that sly smile of his. “How did your alter-ego take that? Not well, I presume.”
Rogers laughed as he recalled Regina explaining the events to the current inhabitants of Storybrooke. When Regina had cast the modified version of the original Dark Curse, everyone was returned to their rightful time and a lot of explanations had been in order. Though he still couldn’t fathom how Emma and his alter-ego’s child was an infant but Lucy was still the same age he knew. He didn’t bother to try and understand...he didn’t need the headache.
“He was speechless and let’s just say I don’t look very charming baffled and mouth hanging open like that. Alice was laughing so hard she almost fell over.” replied Rogers with a smile at the memory. But then he recalled the debate earlier that week and his smile dropped.
“She’s keeping a seat vacant for you, you know,” said Rogers as he looked out to the sea, not meeting his previous partner’s eye. “For you and your wife.”
“I’m sorry I’ll miss it,” replied Rumple. No further explanations were needed as Rogers knew Rumple kept watch on all of them from where he was now. “I’m happy for her. Her and Robin.”
“It’s only possible because of you,” replied Rogers, his voice cracking slightly. “I...I never got a chance to thank you.”
Rumple smiled but shook his head. “You don’t--”
“Please let me finish,” began Rogers, shaking his head to rein in his composure. “What you did for Alice back in the Enchanted Forest, for me in the Wish Realm...you didn’t have to but you did. Nothing I will do or say will be enough to express my gratitude Weaver--Rumplestltskin.”
“I didn’t want Alice to live a life I did,” began Rumple with a small shrug. “Nobody should watch their True Love age and know that they will not be following.” He stopped and met Rogers’ eye. “And you deserved to be with your daughter. I’ve been living on borrowed time, Captain. I should have been dead long ago but I was given a second-chance. You deserved one too.”
Rogers smiled as a tear fell down from his eye and he quickly wiped it away. “Damn it, Weaver. This is my dream and I’m supposed to be happy.”
“Well you started the confessions and heart to heart, Rogers,” argued Rumple. “I’m just going with the flow of the conversation.”
They shared a laugh as they both looked at the sea again, taking comfort in the other’s company.
“Is this only possible because I have your heart or something more?” asked Rogers after a moment.
“I’m not entirely sure,” replied Rumple with a shrug. “I may have been an expert on magic but there are somethings that still remain a mystery.” He turned to him. “My son visited us in our dreams too even before he was born...so there’s a realm of possibilities.”
“He what?” asked Rogers in surprise.
“Then again he was still in his mother’s womb at that time so maybe that was the connection he used,” continued Rumple. “Since you have my heart, I guess that’s the connection and why it was slightly easier to get to this place.” He paused a smiled smugly. “I was debating whether to appear like a ghost and startle you but Belle argued that it would probably give you a heart attack which made my intention utterly useless.”
“Making the thing you were trying to prevent an actual reality,” replied Rogers with a chuckle.
“Yes, I gave you my heart so you could live a long life with Alice, Captain. I don’t expect you to return it anytime soon,” said Rumple in all seriousness but Rogers could see the mirth in his eyes.
“Having your heart inside me feels really weird.” began Rogers. “Not that I’m grateful...it’s just weird.”
“Oh, yes, well it’s been through a lot, broken and consumed by darkness multiple times, but it survived.” replied Rumple. “Now, I gave my heart to you, don’t forget to take a good care of it.”
Rogers eyed him curiously and he was sure his old partner didn’t really hear what he just said. “…Mate, you know that sounds weird, right?”
“Why?” asked Rumple in confusion. Yes, definitely did not hear what he just said.
“Never mind.” but Rogers couldn’t suppress the chuckle and Rumple just glared at him. “Thank you, Weaver.”
“For?” asked Rumple.
“Everything,” replied Rogers as he got up. “But I feel like I’ve rested and hidden from the realm of consciousness for quite enough. It’s time I woke up.”
“As you wish,” replied Rumple with a smile. He stood but Rogers immediately offered him his hand.
“Don’t be a stranger,” said Rogers and Rumple smiled as they shook hands. “Old friend.”
“I most certainly won’t,” replied Rumple. “Besides, someone needs to remind you to take care of yourself.”
“This is payback for all the times I forced you to have breakfast besides a cup of coffee, isn’t it?” asked Rogers with a groan.
“Of course.”

OQ on Holidays Week will take place from August 20th to 26th, so please, don’t post anything before.
In the meantime, don’t hesitate to tweet or DM me at this account @OQonHolidays if you have any questions.

Happy Hour Hysteria
Summary: (Season 7) Flu season has hit Hyperion Heights and Regina is in over her head at the bar. Thankfully Henry and Rogers are there to help.
Words: 2153
((((((A/N: This is a prompt idea that I couldn’t resist taking. The squad goals started off so strong at the beginning of the season and then we saw nothing else from the three since, haha. Tagging @theonceoverthinker for her help with the title, it went from “Happy Hour Mania” to “Happy Hour Hysteria”.
Prompt idea by @mcbrideannemgt
Roni’s Bar. I’d like to see an episode in Season7 where Roni’s bar is so busy that she asks Rogers and Henry to help man the bar and they agree. It turns out they are brilliant at pouring drinks, serving customers etc. Total team effort impressing Roni completely. Rogers takes no nonsense from drunk customers either
Anyway onward with the story. I hope I did your prompt justice!)))))
Happy Hour Hysteria
Flu season.
Every small business owner's worst nightmare.
Roni's was beyond crowded, and with Regina's staff of two down for the count, she was definitely in for quite a rough night.
Though in the beginning, it hadn’t exactly started out that way.
It had gone as per usual in her routine as a bartender. The regulars had all showed up right after work, patrons that Regina absolutely loved dealing with because she knew exactly how to handle them (keep the alcohol flowing and they typically kept to themselves). Roughly after nine, the hordes had picked up as if on cue. It was a Friday night after all and as the younger masses came in to celebrate their weekend, the older regulars had left before the establishment got too loud with chatter and music.
It was all something Regina could handle with or without Adam and Mia there to help. Nothing more than a normal night on the job. What wasn’t normal was the fact that they didn’t stop coming from all angles of her bar.
The inside and the veranda were bursting at the seams with people of all ages and sizes; the number undoubtedly beyond what was considered safe for fire code and regulation.
And as she scrambled around to fill orders and sanitize glasses to reuse; only one thought crossed her mind in all the chaos. If she got fined for anything tonight, Lucille would be swinging giddily while her fireballs were currently out of commission.
“Hey, sweet cheeks! We need more beers!”
And if that buffoon at the far corner table didn’t stop yelling and calling her sweet cheeks, the baseball bat was coming out sooner.
In all the rushed motions to get everyone served, she almost missed the movement from the corner of her eye as someone boldly walked behind the counter. She whirled around; about ready to rip the person a new asshole, when she froze.
Henry took only a second to grin sheepishly and apologetically for startling her, before bending to grab three Bud-Lights from the mini fridge to help serve the next impatient group of patrons.
Regina relaxed and smiled briefly in relief at his profile.
Help had arrived in the form of her cursed son, and with a bit of the pressure lifting at his arrival; she dove right back into the fray.
(***)
“Sorry about earlier; it just looked like you could use the help.” Henry finally stated the moment they were given a small respite.
“Don’t apologize,” she answered immediately as she garnished a glass with an orange slice and filled it with Blue Moon from the tap. “Your arrival was a godsend tonight.”
“What happened, anyway?” He pivoted to grab the Skyy vodka from the middle shelf to pour out three shots. “Where are Adam and Mia?”
“Flu,” was her one worded response as the masses picked up again.
(***)
Somewhere along the second wave of customers, Rogers had shown up.
At first, Regina thought he was called in for a complaint. It was exactly what she didn’t want or need at the moment; which gave her all the more reason to believe it was the case.
Thankfully, it wasn’t so.
He was dressed down far too casually to be on duty or on call tonight, and his stance wasn’t stiff but relaxed. As he moved away from the entrance, she glimpsed him staring at the crowd in bewilderment before she had to look away to grab the money for the Jaeger Bombs.
“Oh crap,” she barely heard Henry mutter over the loud din.
“What?”
“I forgot I invited Rogers to meet me here.” He answered as he briefly waved when Rogers’ attention finally shifted to the two of them. “He’s been so adrift after the Eloise case; I figured it wouldn’t hurt to get him out and about more.”
“So you invite a recovering alcoholic to hang out at a bar?” she deadpanned.
“I invited him to meet me here.” Henry repeated; the old, familiar sass allowing Regina just a moment to believe that the curse was broken and everything was alright. “We were supposed to go see a movie.”
“Well,” she waved him away as she took another order. “Don’t let me and this place stop you.”
Before Henry could retort at her dismissive behavior (she honestly didn’t mean to sound so flippant, but there were more important matters to attend to at the moment); Rogers walked behind the counter, nodding with a smile of greeting and understanding as he shifted to help. Regina was just about to tell him he didn’t have to, but his gentle smile and piercing eyes prevented the words from tumbling out.
So they worked; each one of them forming an efficient rhythm around each other with ease. Henry—she knew—could handle it; having heard the stories involving Lucy’s ballet recital. It was Rogers; however, that she found herself more impressed with. He may not have been as graceful as his counterpart, but he was holding his own fairly well with mixing and pouring out the orders.
But the more they operated around each other, the more the pangs in her heart grew (almost screaming to be noticed). She didn’t have the time to notice it though. Didn’t have the time to contemplate or reminisce on how well they had worked as a team even back in the Enchanted Forest.
At least, she didn’t have the time to think about it until she finally did.
By the stroke of midnight, the crowds had slowly ebbed and dwindled to something more controllable. The nightlife in her bar was still lively, but they no longer had the hordes blocking up the counter and stools—the space currently being occupied by a group of frat boys egging each other on with shots of tequila and lime.
With the extra manpower—despite thanking them and reassuring that she could handle it from this point on—Regina was finally able to wait on and clean up the tables. It was as she was wiping down one of the booths; her eyes traveling back to watch the boys man the counter, that those thoughts reared their ugly heads.
It was comforting and heartbreaking all at once to have them both near again but not have them remember her. To have Henry not recognize her as his mother for the second time in their lives. To have all her painstaking progress with Killian—of getting him to break down his walls and open up—unraveled back to the start. She missed how her son—even with a daughter of his own—still came to her for advice as he and Ella raised Lucy. She missed those quiet nights with Killian spent conversing and reminiscing when sleep eluded them both. She missed the others too, she missed Ella and Tiana and the bear hugs Lucy would give her. She missed how Henry could get Jack so worked up over Star Wars (her son had and still was a natural storyteller; Jack didn’t need to see the movies to fall in love with the tale and its characters).
She—
“Hey, sweet cheeks! Another round of beers for me and the boys!”
Regina startled out of her thoughts, and the moment the words sunk in; she huffed out air through her flared nostrils in annoyance.
In spite of her bar being overly busy (a recipe for disaster if there ever was one), there surprisingly hadn’t been as many incidences tonight as she originally thought—the few rowdier ones easy to manage between the three of them and whoever they came to the bar with. Regina had a feeling it was due to Rogers’ continued presence. Most of them knew he was a detective for the district of Hyperion, and whether he was on duty or not, none of them seemed willing to test their luck with him—not when he’d pierce them with a look that words couldn’t manage when things started to get out of hand.
Then there was the corner table; the loud jackass with his equally loud and boisterous friends.
She was thankful that, during the wave, one of the quieter men—designated driver by the looks of it—would come up and order their pitchers of preferred ale for the group. But that still didn’t stop Pig McGee and his loud mouth from being heard over the din of noise every once in a while.
“Sweet cheeks, ya listenin’?!”
The thin ice that was her patience for him broke into several sharp pieces.
“When you start talking to the owner of this establishment with respect, then maybe she will.” Rogers answered before she could pivot around and give him a piece of her mind.
A few surrounding bystanders quieted to watch the exchange as Rogers moved from behind the bar; standing tall with the no-nonsense air surrounding him as he walked.
“Who asked you?!” The burly buffoon shot back.
“Mike, take it easy man.” The sober friend piped up with his hand on Mike’s shoulder; warily eyeing Rogers and the scowl on his face as he came closer. “This isn’t worth getting kicked out.” The others at the table murmured in agreement.
“Heed your friends’ advice, mate.”
“Not your mate.” Mike sneered as he clumsily stood. He was easily a head and a half taller than Rogers, and solidly built like a mountain; and from the corner of her eye, Regina could see Henry reaching under the counter for Lucille. “I ain’t disrespecting nobody. All we want are some beers,” he gestured around. “This is a bar, ain’t it? So why don’t you go back behind that counter, and let the pretty lady serve us.”
“Mike, he’s a cop, I’m not bailing you out if you get locked in the drunk-tank again.” The sober friend tried yet again, with one of the others standing to help.
“I suggest you either sit down or get out.” Regina affirmed and cut off whatever Mike was going to say; stepping forward before things could get any more out of hand. “This is still my bar, and if you continue to disturb myself or my patrons.” She gestured to everyone as a whole, but she was mostly referring to the group of women who had had to move tables to get away from them. “Then I have the right to kick you out and not allow you back in.”
Mike looked ready to argue—his face no longer flushed from the alcohol—but Rogers and a few other men moved to stand next to her.
“Come on, man, let’s just leave. S’not worth it.” Mike’s third friend slurred as he and the fourth man stood and pulled their coats off the back of the chairs.
There was more back and forth, but eventually, the four left; Regina cringing when the door was slammed shut more forcibly then was necessary from Mike.
Well, at least the glass didn’t break. She mused as she thanked the men for their help. She then turned her full attention on Rogers, stopping him with a hand on his arm before he could go back to the counter.
“Thank you.” she shot him a grateful smile and squeezed his forearm gently to show the sincerity of her words.
He smiled humbly back, his cheeks and the tips of his ears tinting a slight pink as he responded to take the praise away from himself. “Yes, well, you looked more like Negan then Roni for a second there; figured it was only right to step in.”
She snorted and smacked his shoulder. “You know I don’t watch that show.”
“Yet you still got the reference.” He responded with a wider grin.
(***)
By the time the bar closed at two, and everything was cleaned up and restocked by two-forty-five; the three of them were exhausted as they moved and collapsed into one of the booths.
“Thank you, I don’t think I could have survived tonight without you both.” Regina stated as she raised her can of soda in a toast.
Henry and Rogers did the same.
“With all the free beers I’ve been grabbing, it’s the least I can do. Gotta earn my keep somehow.” Henry joked.
“Not to mention the replacement cake and all the beignets you sent to the station.” At Regina’s startled look, Rogers raised a brow and grinned. “Didn’t think I would notice that, did you?”
“Hell of a cop.” She responded with a mirth-filled huff. “To friends.”
She clinked her can with theirs as they chorused back, “To friends.”
Regina didn’t know how she was going to break the curse and save Henry at the same time, but she wouldn’t give up. It was just the low moment before the hero fought back. That’s what Henry always believed, and so too would she.
She had her boys and their family to protect after all.

Don’t Call Me Sentimental
It started as a prompt given to me by the lovely @theonceoverthinker and evolved from that—a gift-giving story between the now-awake Regina and Wish Hook. A little bit of Regal Believer and KnightRook, too.
Chapter: 1/2
Warnings: Feels? Hopefully?
What in the unholy hell was she supposed to do?
Regina wracked her brain, almost ready to smash one of the bottles of amber-tinted liquor over her head on the off chance it might help. It had been Lucy’s idea. Something to help brighten the holidays around Hyperion Heights and celebrate the end of the curse. Her memories as Roni, Regina, the Evil Queen, and whoever else she had been in her life crammed together to come up with some idea, but nothing.
Jacinda was easy, Henry even moreso. Lucy took all of five seconds to pick the perfect gift for. Hell, even Tiana was a sinch. It was just… him. His damn fault.
She had faced down tough enemies and unfathomable challenges, but no obstacle seemed as difficult as what to get Killian for Christmas. She had some ideas of what to ship to his other version—sailor-themed baby toys, a nice bottle of rum (now that she, as a bar owner, knew how to discern quality in liquor), and a card that heavily implied he should give Emma some days off from mommy duty. She had even called him “Killian” in it instead of “Guyliner”. Damn holiday spirit.
This “wish” version of him, though, was difficult. This one had a full-grown child and was fully sober, for one. He was single, for another, and seemed determined to remain so if his lack of wagging eyebrows at the women in her bar was any indication. In the Enchanted Forest, his only real hobby was searching for his daughter, not that Regina couldn’t relate. Since she had known him as Rogers, his motivations had stayed largely the same.
“Maybe I should microchip Alice,” she muttered to herself.
“Do what now?” The unmistakable sound of her son’s voice broke through the silence. “Mom, hate to break it to you, but I’m pretty sure microchipping an adult, especially one who isn’t related to you, is illegal.”
Mom. He called her “Mom”. For a moment she didn’t even register the rest of his words.
“I wasn’t being serious, Henry. Killian is just… impossible to shop for. I’m tempted to get him a pile of bearclaws and call it a day, but after everything.” After everything, he deserved more.
Henry walked around the bar and pulled her into a quick hug. “I know. You’ll find something.”
“What, though? He has Alice and that man has a one-track mind. Back home it’s Emma but here it’s her, and now what?”
“Not necessarily. Remember, when he was Rogers, he invited me over once so I could finally make him watch Rogue One? The man is spartan when it comes to decorations and everything else, but he has a pretty sizable library and a really sweet guitar.”
“The library I’m not surprised about. Strangely enough. But, a guitar?”
Henry nodded. “Dad back home also has a few instruments. Mom even bought a keyboard for him once thinking he wouldn’t know how to work it and, except for all the buttons and tuners, he picked it up pretty quickly. Maybe something like that? Of course, back home he only has acoustic, but I guess his modern self picked up electric pretty fast. Had this really awesome Fender Stratocaster sitting in the corner.”
“I have no idea what that means.”
“Go to a music store, Mom,” he advised, helping himself to a beer. “They’ll help you out.”
“Well, it is the closest I’ve been since Lucy got this idea in her head. I’m glad she’s happy, don’t get me wrong, but my granddaughter has some big ideas and after this curse I almost want to just sit down and not get up for four days. By the way, you calling him ‘Dad’ is still odd to me.”
A loud laugh reverberated off the wooden walls of Roni’s, and Henry shook his head. “Well, I called Belle ‘Grandma’ after she married Grandpa, so…”
“Point taken. Still, I don’t know a thing about guitars, and all the store help or your 80s knowledge isn’t going to get me where I need to be. For once, it needs to mean something, Henry.”
A long quiet fell over them, until a lightbulb seemed to light over her head. “I, well, I might have just the thing.”
“She was a bloody queen. What do you get a queen? She could buy herself a kingdom.”
Killian paced the living room of his apartment as Alice sat on the counter of their now-shared kitchen, trying to keep her giggles in. “Not everything or she wouldn’t have been the Evil Queen.”
“Alright, fair point, but she’s not evil anymore and, if I know anything about how this curse has gone and what she’s gone through, herself, then she already has what she wants. Henry, Jacinda, Lucy. They’re everything to her.”
Alice jumped off the counter and approached her father, pausing his pacing with a tight hug. “I love you, too.”
“What—”
“I know what you meant by that,” she said, pulling away and wiggling her eyebrows. “She has her family back, her life back, everything. So, what is something she misses? Something she doesn’t have any longer because, maybe, it’s gone for a different reason?”
Killian flipped through his memories of her and every conversation he had, in his sober mind, logged away. Revenge was most of what they shared up until recently. He had known her for decades, and the majority of their interactions had hinged on them helping each other with their ultimate goal of righting their own injustices. Now? Their children filled the holes left behind from traumatic childhoods, lost loves, and the occasional cruelty of the Enchanted Forest.
“She did have one thing,” he recalled. “We were talking one night and we got on the subject of parenthood. I told her about my mother and she told me about her father. Then we said how we wanted… well, anyway. She still has a memento of his. Maybe I could get her something for that.”
“Sentimental.”
“Hardly,” he insisted, though the look she leveled him with told him exactly what he knew—she saw right through him. “It’s just, after everything, she deserves, I don’t know. Something…”
“More,” said Alice. He almost hated that she could read his thoughts.
Almost.

OUAT Episode Analysis- Eloise Gardener
*Sigh*
Tumblr media
Okay, let’s get this over with. I’m going to start with the flashback portion of this episode, because the sooner I get it over with, the better.
So, the flashback is set in the Wish World, prior to its official creation.  Not sure how that works, but I’m not even going to question it anymore. Wish Killian is getting his crew ready, as Wish Regina had promised to help him achieve his revenge within the Land Without Magic.  I guess this is supposed to be squeezed into that tiny amount of time between the point when Regina tested Hook’s resolve by tasking him with killing Papa Jones and the point when she sent him to Wonderland to do the same with Cora?  I don’t know.  I have enough on my plate in trying to make the timeline of Enchanted Forest Prime make coherent sense.  I’m not about to try and work with the Wish World timeline, too.  Especially since I don’t consider it an accurate portrayal of what would have happened if the curse had never been cast.  (The fact that Neal was somehow around to father Henry and Emma’s parents apparently raised her to be an insipid simpering weakling is proof enough of that.)
Anyway, before Wish Killian and his crew could even start getting ready, Wish Regina shows up.  It turns out that Wish Snowing found a way to defeat her by removing her magic.   It’s not really explained how they managed to do that, or why Snowing Prime couldn’t have done that.  Either way, Wish Regina wants to barter passage on Wish Killian’s ship so she could escape before Wish Snowing could find her.  But Wish Killian is upset about the turn of events, as he won’t be able to get his revenge on Wish Rumpelstiltskin without the Dark Curse being cast.  So Wish Regina tells him of this witch who lives in a tower, stating that she possesses magic powerful enough to kill an immortal.
So, Wish Killian sets off with Wish Smee to find this witch.  They eventually find the tower, and Wish Killian climbs it.  But when he enters the tower room, he encounters a young woman who calls herself Rapunzel.  Which is weird, as the show already gave us a Rapunzel.  Back in S3.  And she was portrayed by a Black woman.  So why are they trying to give us a blonde Rapunzel in Wish World, the world the writers tried to claim was the same as Enchanted Forest Prime, except with no Dark Curse being cast?  Eh, whatever. Blonde Rapunzel tells Wish Killian that the magic he came looking for came from the petals a magic flower, but the Witch already used up the magic within the petals she had on hand.  If Wish Killian wants to use the magic flower for his own purposes, he has to retrieve another flower from some garden.
You know, it occurred to me while writing this that this whole thing was a bit similar to the children’s story One Fine Day.  The one written by Nonny Hogrogian.  Wish Killian just keeps having to run errands for people in order to get what he wants, and his to-do list just keeps on growing.
Getting back to the episode, Wish Killian and Wish Smee head off to find the garden Blonde Rapunzel told them about.  But to locate the right flower, they have to sing, because music unlocks the flower’s power or something.  Of course, that isn’t a problem for Wish Killian.  The musical episode proved the man could sing.  So Wish Killian tries to utilize an old sea shanty.  Which did make me grin.  I’ve been wanting to hear Killian or his crew sing a sea shanty for quite some time now.  Unfortunately, the sea shanty doesn’t work.  But it does wake up the garden’s guard dog.  Or rather the guard garden gnome.  And Giant Garden Gnome is not happy about being woken up.  It proceeds to attack Wish Killian and Wish Smee, until Wish Killian locates and collects the magic flower by singing a lullaby he knew.
Okay, I’m once again going to have to talk about this, because this part was such a joy.  Wish Smee questions Wish Killian on how he knew a lullaby. In response, Wish Killian explains how he learned the lullaby from his mother, stating that she used to sing it to him and Liam when they were boys, up until she died.  I don’t care if this was Wish Killian telling the story, because Wish Killian’s backstory is supposed to be identical to Killian Prime’s. Which means the same story holds true for Killian Prime.  After five years, we actually get to hear about Killian’s mother.  While I had always suspected that she died before her time, it was still nice to have it confirmed, even though it is sad to know that she died.  But at least Killian had fond memories of her.
But I’m getting to the part of the story that’s a bit grating to talk about.  Wish Killian returns to the tower to give the magic flower to Blonde Rapunzel. Because while he could have just made off with the magic flower, his sense of honor prevented him from abandoning Blonde Rapunzel, who also needed the flower’s magic to escape the tower. There was some sort of protective barrier that prevented her from leaving.  When Wish Killian returns to the tower, Blonde Rapunzel thanks him for retrieving the flower and coming back to help her.  She then proceeds to seduce him, and they spend the night together.
Unfortunately, this is when the part that annoyed me came along.  In the morning, it’s revealed that Blonde Rapunzel wasn’t who she claimed to be. Turns out, she was the Witch in disguise the whole time.  And she was just using Wish Killian as a pawn to escape from her tower.  I’m a little sketchy on the details, but from what I gather, the Witch could only escape from the tower if she passed the curse that kept her trapped onto someone else.  And she’s now passed that curse onto the baby.  Apparently, their little one-night-stand resulted in a conception to occur, and the Witch, who introduces herself as Gothel, magically sped up the pregnancy to give birth during the night or something.
So basically, Wish Killian was raped via deception by Gothel.  Which is really gross.  Now, I’m not saying I don’t understand the logic of those who are saying that this was done to demonstrate how despicable a villain Gothel is.  Because I get it.  My problem is that this isn’t the first time the show used rape as a plot point.  Look at what happened to poor Graham.  And Robin.  Both of their rapists got off scot-free, with the show never addressing the rape for what it was.  In fact, Zelena was even rewarded for it by being granted custody of the baby that resulted from the rape.  Not to mention how the whole thing with Snow and Dr. Frankenstein in S1 was turned into a running joke.  And how Guinevere essentially got mind raped.  And Belle’s son, Gideon, was arguably conceived via rape as well, as Rumpelstiltskin failed to disclose the fact that he was the Dark One again, knowing that Belle probably wouldn’t have consented to sex if she’d known.  Basically, if this was the first instance of rape that popped up in the show, I probably wouldn’t have taken so much issue with it. But the fact that the show has a long history of featuring a character being raped through deception, mind control, or memory alteration made this turn of events kind of hard to stomach.  Especially with the current real life situations going on right now, with so many people coming forward to expose the people who sexually assaulted them.  It’s getting to the point when I’m starting to think A&E don’t even realize that what they’re writing counts as sexual assault.  That they think that it’s only rape if someone is actively trying to resist or fight off the person committing the assault.  Either way, I’m just hoping they don’t try and redeem Gothel the way the show tried to redeem Regina, Zelena, Arthur and Rumpelstiltskin, with none of them ever being held accountable for what they did to their rape victims.  Please, show, let this be the one that breaks the pattern, with Gothel receiving a suitable punishment for her transgressions.
So anyway, Gothel scarpers off, now that the spell that kept her trapped in the tower has been passed over to the baby.  But this leaves Wish Killian in a bit of a difficult position.  Gothel left him what remained of the magic flower, stating it would be enough to allow him to kill Wish Rumpelstiltskin.  But he realizes that if he leaves to achieve his goal, he’d have to leave the little baby behind to starve to death.  In the end, he proves once again that he’s a good man at his core.  Wish Killian goes back to his crew one more time, to pass over ownership of the Jolly Roger to Wish Smee and to inform Wish Regina that he’ll be staying behind when the crew take her away to escape capture.  The scene then shifts to show Wish Killian had cleaned up the tower to make it a proper and cozy looking home for him and his daughter, who he names Alice, after his own mother.  (So I guess this means the theory that New Alice was the daughter was right.)  The scene closes with Wish Killian singing his mother’s old lullaby to Baby Alice, promising to stay with her.
While I still take issue with how they went about in explaining how the daughter came into existence, I will admit this was a really well-done scene.  It shows that Killian, regardless of the version, will always be the type of man who would willingly give up his ship and revenge for someone he loves. For Killian Prime, it was Emma. For Wish Killian, it was his daughter, Alice.  It also shows that Killian is a natural father with strong paternal instincts. So you can imagine what this means for the CS baby.  (We also got a lullaby that Killian Prime could sing to him/her.  If Wish Killian knows this lullaby, it stands to reason that Killian Prime knows it, too.) It’s also nice to finally know the name of Mama Jones.
So, now for the Hyperion Heights portion of the episode.  It begins with Rogers reacting to the death of Tattoo Guy, and the loss of his lead. But then Weaver/Rumpelstiltskin comes in, and is all, ‘okay, I’ll take it from here,’ and is pretty much trying to kick Rogers away from the case of the missing Eloise.  But Rogers is not to be deterred.  He later confesses to Henry that the reason why he’s so adamant about finding Eloise is because he feels directly responsible.  Turns out, his cursed memories have given him this whole tragic backstory about he was out drinking on the job on the night that Eloise went missing, and he believes if he had been focusing on doing what he was supposed to be doing instead of getting drunk, Eloise would never have gone missing.
Eventually, he goes back to recruit Tilly/New Alice again, asking her to help him out by asking around about Eloise. But when Tilly gets back to him, she informs him that she discovered that an acquaintance of hers once dated a woman who turned out to be the missing Eloise, living under a false identity. But Eloise was later killed in a car accident.  To prove her story, Tilly shows Rogers an elaborate illustration of a setting sun, which appears to have been torn out of Eloise’s journal.  The knowledge that Eloise met a tragic end leaves Rogers despondent, and he almost goes back to drinking in an effort to drown his sorrows. But he ultimately decides against it, especially when he notices something strange about the page that Tilly gave him. When he accidently spilled his drink on the paper, the paint that was used to make the illustration started to run. This triggers Roger’s suspicions, as there was a time when he spilled coffee on a page in Eloise’s journal. And because the paint within the journal had been so old, it didn’t smudge.  So the fact that this page is clearly newer than the ones in the actual journal leads him to suspect that the page is a fake.  Right away, he realizes that Weaver put Tilly up to giving him a fake journal page in an effort to make him give up on the case.  This understandably ticks him off, and after confronting Weaver about it, he decides that this obviously means that Victoria was the one who is pulling the strings, as Weaver is supposed to work for Victoria or something.
Rogers heads over to Victoria’s private storeroom, where he discovers Mystery Witch, who we now know is Gothel. It turns out Eloise is Gothel’s cursed name.  Rogers proceeds to arrest Victoria for Eloise’s abduction.  He also snubs Tilly when she comes to apologize for trying to deceive him. However, before Victoria is taken away by the cops, Ivy/Drizella shows up to gloat, revealing to her mother that she’s awake, and that the purposely helped Rogers find Gothel, as it’s part of her ultimate plan to spite her mother.  Victoria/Parallel Evil Stepmother is horrified by the turn of events, but she seems to be more concerned with the fact that Gothel is now roaming free. Which does kinda make me nervous as to what Gothel plans to do now.  Especially since both she and Rumpelstiltskin seemed determined to make sure she remained locked up.  All I can say is that Gothel better not hurt Rogers/Wish Killian.  She’s done enough to him already.
Meanwhile, we get a subplot with Henry and Jacinda/Parallel Cinder.  They’re really starting to hit it off, and Henry announces his intention to take Jacinda out to a concert, as a band he likes is performing in the area. But Regina, who is still concerned about this big horrible thing that’s supposed to happen if Drizella’s curse is broken by Henry and Parallel Cinder’s True Love’s Kiss, decides to put a little nagging thought into Jacinda’s ear.  She tells Jacinda that, if she really wants to regain custody of Lucy, she probably needs to think about what social services would think about what Lucy’s living situation would be.  She talks about how the agencies look for security when placing children, and they might not react too well to a single mother working in a bar (because they finally took my advice had had Jacinda go work at Roni’s bar), especially one just entering into a new relationship with a man.  Regina’s little talk left Jacinda feeling pretty scared, and she ends up canceling her date with Henry.  But when she later finds out that Victoria was arrested, she is ecstatic, as this means she’ll be free to take Lucy home with her.  Unfortunately, when Jacinda goes to pick up Lucy and tell her the news, they’re confronted with these people from social services.  They tell Jacinda that, before they can allow her to regain custody of Lucy, they need to review the case.  Until then, Lucy has to be placed into the system.  Which leaves us with a rather depressing ending, as Lucy is about to be subjected to the same environment that her grandmother once endured.  At least Lucy actually knows there’s someone out there who loves her.  That’s more that could be said for poor Emma, who spend most of her life believing that no one wanted her.
