So, I'm guessing that Mystery Incorporated!Velma is another awful adaptation of Velma, huh? Funny, I never actually get that vibe from her. I only watched season one, and I only depicted her as a snarky genius archetype. But, I guess that she did seem like a controlling girlfriend archetype. Maybe it's the writers' attempt of inserting romance and romantic drama in a Scooby-Doo adaptation. At least she isn't as bad as Velmindy.

She's not nearly as bad as the one from Velma, but I just personally don't like her. Her attitude towards Shaggy who she supposedly likes yet wants to change is just toxic as hell so that made me dislike her.

But what made me hate her was her basically telling Scooby "I could get Shaggy back if I let you die, but I won't." Cuz no, Velma wouldn't say that. She wouldn't even CONSIDER that. Mystery Inc, Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy LOVE Scooby-Doo. They'd never even CONSIDER allowing harm to befall him.

And Velma is smart enough to know that Shaggy wouldn't be hers if Scooby died. Least of all if she was responsible. Shaggy would never forgive her, and neither would Daphne or Fred, it would literally permanently break up Mystery Inc.

So to have a version of Velma voice that she even had a thought about considering letting Scooby die is just mind-boggling. Velma would NEVER do that, let alone to Scooby's face!

So while I do still enjoy her one-liners and do like that they kinda made her a Hex-Girls super-fan, I do hate that they seriously included that nonsense. There are good ways to have Velma and Shaggy be interested in each other. This is not it. Velma should not be a controlling girlfriend who holds any amount of resentment for Scooby-Doo.
