episode 6 of sex education has just fucked me up soooo badly - specifically the whole funeral sequence.

it’s so refreshing to see addicts as complex misunderstood characters who are also generous rather than straight up villains. i felt so bad for sean cuz i get how loved ones with addiction can seriously affect people, and it’s good that the creators put a character like him in the show to communicate that. i really liked how erin was portrayed in the show: complex but kind and caring and also horrible at times, but never a horrible person, and maeve understood that, and it’s clearer in the speech that she gave. the episode amazingly visualised the complexity off addiction and i fucking love the creators for portraying maeve, sean and erin as they did.

(couldn’t find a recent gif of maeve but she’s so amazing. i get why she loves complex female characters)

So last year, Netflix realease season 1 of the tv adaptation of the novel - Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah.

I LOVED it!!! I know some book readers hated how much was changed from the original novel, but I haven't read the book and don't plan to until the show is over, so I had no reason to be disappointed

On the lowest of keys Tully is absolutely in love with Kate but that's a whole other thing lol

Their friendship is basically a mix of #Goals and toxicity, and that is no surprise considering how codependent they are. Following this friendship that has lasted almost 30 years is sometimes heartbreaking but a lot of time really heartwarming as well!

This week we spoke about Season 1 and focused on Kate and Tully's friendship. Not gonna lie - we dragged Kate quite a bit lol

Fossil Novembirb 2: The Survivors

The End-Cretaceous Extinction was one of the most devastating - and tragic - events on our planet.

In the blink of an eye, the world changed from a thriving biosphere to a decimated one. The asteroid caused worldwide wildfires, tsunamis, and the dramatic release of particles into the air that blocked out the sun.

Nothing over 25 kg could survive, because they had nowhere to hide from the devastation. Anything under that limit had to have somewhere to hide - water or burrowing worked best - and something to eat, which was easier said than done. When the plants can't eat, nothing can.

And yet, life survived - not just life, but dinosaurs themselves!

In fact, one of the first fossils we have from the Cenozoic is Conflicto, a Presbyornithid - like "Styginetta" and Teviornis yesterday! - from Antarctica

Why these dinosaurs, and no others?

They had beaks, which would have helped them to access available food sources such as seeds and spores (plant material in a protective casing)

They did not live in trees, but usually near or with water - perfect places to hide

They were powerful fliers, allowing them to escape the flames and whatever else they needed to

Other than that? Random chance.

What happened next was truly remarkable: an adaptive radiation of dinosaurs the likes of which is rarely seen

With all of those newly opened niches, Neornithines adapted quickly, so quickly we can't actually figure out how different major groups of Neoavians - aka, most birds - actually relate to one another.

After all, there was just *so much* free real estate!

In fact, many of these dinosaurs evolved right back into niches that their ancestors had famously lived in - penguins show up so quickly that we're giving marine birds their own day, replacing the now-lost Hesperornithines; Tsidiiyazhi and others quickly replaced the empty tree-bird niches left behind by the lost Enantiornithines; and raptors show up quickly too, already reminiscent of the lost Dromaeosaurs.

Qianshanornis, a mysterious raptor from China, had sickle claws just like its lost bretheren! In fact, it looks like it might be a Cariamiform, a group of dinosaurs including living Seriemas and the extinct Terror Birds, which often have sickle claws like Dromaeosaurs did!

Don't fix what isn't broken, I guess!

Non-Neoavians diversified too, with fowl doing just fine across the boundary - Presbyornithids like Conflicto, as well as mysterious forms like Australornis.

Palaeognaths remain weirdly absent, but don't worry - the earilest ones will show up before the Paleocene epoch is done!

The Cenozoic begins with the Paleogene Period, which has the first epoch of the Paleocene - this was a climatic quagmire, with frequent fluctuations at the beginning before a dramatic rise in temperatures at the end. This climate confusion would affect bird evolution greatly - and lead to the diversification of many kinds, some of which we still have today!

I recently rewatched dazed and confused, and mitch has ahold of me again. I love that little man, i will forever love that little man. Ive watched everything with wiley wiggins in it. Listen Mitch has the FATTEST crush on you. like big fat lays awake at night and thinks about you when he's stoned kinda crush. he seems pretty chill so you probably have no idea that when he's staring into space in your general direction he's thinking about you falling into his arms, what your lips taste like, what you smell like. he lights up when you talk to him, burning every interaction with you into his memory. he really does just love to look at you. no matter how long you've been together, he'll just stare at you and completley lose all sense of time. and oh my god you better believe his friends will tease him CONSTANTLY about his crush on you, about how out of his league you are, but is that gonna stop him from spacing out and thinking about you in class????? of course not. he's going to make the longest mental list of exaclty how he's going to treat you right if he ever, ever gets a chance with you. on the top of his high school bucket list of stuff to do before graduation is kiss you. just once. right next to that, tied for first place, is getting to dance with you. a party, homecoming, prom, he really doesn't care. he just wants one dance with you. three minutes up close with his hands on your waist and yours on his shoulders so he finally has a proper excuse to stare at you like he loves to do. and it feels like a pipe dream right now, but it's not one he's ever going to give up on.

big trigger warnings for rape, abuse, sexual misconduct, pedophilia

with new york's adult survivors act reaching its deadline this thanksgiving, an absurd amount of pressure's been put on survivors to come forward.

due to that, a tidal wave of lawsuits have been brought up, and while that should definitely be celebrated, there's been one detail that's stuck out to many people:

a lot of them are against celebrities.

most publications aren't going to report on "regular people", so it's important to note the majority of the ~600 lawsuits filed since oct. 31st aren't celebrity-based.

however, there is still an alarming amount of celebs that have been hit with lawsuits, and i wanted to make a list of them.

ground rules before we start:

1: this list will be in alphabetical order, 2: anyone who's had previous misconduct allegations will be marked in red, 3: this list is specifically about the lawsuits that were filed in light of the deadline, however there have been more lawsuits throughout the year, ex.
