Writing Plans for 2022

2021 was a really hard year for me, health wise, so I wasn’t able to create much. But I’m hopeful that next year will be better.

I’m setting the bar “low-ish” in that I will be making certain things a priority to try to ensure I can get some content out for y’all this year.

My main focus for 2022 will be:

Continuing Where Demons Hide (it is absolutely not abandoned!), including finishing that side story I keep trying to get done and posted 😅

Starting a brand-new long multichapter fic that takes the westerns you know, throws in magic and kuro characters and hits “blend.” @luci-on-the-moon and I are very excited to share more about this fic and begin posting it this year. It will be a bardagni and sebawolf fic most likely, with some Sebataker, too.

I also have some smaller projects that I hope I can work on, but they won’t be as high a priority:

Sebard “twoshot,” a modern AU with businesmen Seb and Bard, stuck together in a room with only one bed during a holiday business trip. I have part 1 almost ready to post; part 2 will come later

Sequel to “Voyeur” (sebard)

Part 4 to the Promise series; it’s about 60% done (sebard)

I have other things I’d like to work on, but only after other things are done, most likely, this includes:

My mute Seb story (sebagni)

My 1920s sebardagni au

Sequel to “Haunted and Horny” (Sebardciel)

More parts of the Tales of Terror series

Etc…

Thanks to all of you who have stayed by me this year, despite how little I had to offer. I appreciate your support so much.

(Trying to bring a touch of good vibes in right now in the form of a fandom related distraction)

Who are the top five characters you ship with Bard, and what tropes do you like that ship playing into? Poly ships counts as their own ship/person (like sebardciel for one, sebard for another)

Hmmmmm…. I could definitely make this list longer than just 5, but here are my top five characters to ship with Bard, roughly in order:

Sebastian (Sebard) - definitely my top pick, and what I’ve written the most of by far. Especially now that we know Bard’s backstory and have that enemies to lovers energy, I ship them even more. (And no I don’t care that it’s not and never will be canon.)

Agni (Bardagni) - this seems like a crack ship, I know. Bard probably only even met Agni a handful of times in canon and we never see them interact, but for AUs, there’s so much potential there (especially if it turns into a poly ship like #4, and we have someone like Sebastian in the middle). I see them having a kind of “we would normally never have clicked but in this situation it works” kind of vibe. Actually have a few fics with them I would love to write someday, but as of yet, have not. I don’t even know if any Bardagni content exists… (probably not) 😞

Sebastian & Ciel (Sebardciel) - this is a ship I kinda stumbled into by accident but I really love the potential between the three of them since they’re all so different. I see Ciel being the “boss” and surprising Bard a bit by how much of a Dom he is—Bard isn’t used to being bossed around in the bedroom, but I think he finds he kinda likes it..?? Don’t have anything officially done for this ship yet either (only stuff I’ve written privately), but do have a few ideas I hope will come to fruition soon.

Sebastian & Agni (Sebardagni) - I have really fallen for this poly ship, even if it’s only been in brainstorming sessions so far lol. I really only see this happening in AUs, but I think Agni can be a bit protective of his lover(s) even if it means from one of his other lovers. So I think there can be conflict there (in the best way, ofc). For example, if Agni was initially with Bard and Seb comes along, he may be distrustful of Seb and want to “shield” Seb from him, maybe even be jealous. Or, if he was with Seb first, he may not like Bard and may not think that he will look for Seb’s best interests…. Again, I haven’t written any of this officially yet, but I really want to (unless you count this I guess). Even though this is #4 on the list, it’s one of the ships I want to write about the most (that I haven’t already).

Wolf (Bardwolf) - I actually HAVE written this once. It was a request when I was still pretty new to the fandom, and not something I would have necessarily come up with on my own, but I can see a lot of potential there. Even in canon, it could be a bit cracky but amusing since they don’t speak each other’s language and probably don’t get along (at first). I could also see a modern AU where they’re both (ex) military men.

I could also see Bardciel, Bardlau, Bard/Terry, Bard/Mey, Bard/Beast…. And don’t even get me started on other poly possibilities…. I could go on…. But yeah guess those are my top 5.

My energy levels have been abysmal due to my chronic illness getting worse (damn insurance), so I’m not able to write hardly at all, sadly. But these are my current and future projects:

I am so bad with titles so I almost never figure that out until the last minute so you’ll have to make do with working titles for most of these 😅.

Modern AU Eruri WIP (Not Kuro: AoT, Eruri, CEO Erwin and Personal Assistant Levi; Levi must convince Erwin to finally live for himself and not his guilt and others’ expectations) - not yet published; planning stage, probably ~5 chapters

Mute Sebastian WIP (Sebagni, slow burn modern au with a mute sebastian and an ASL interpreter Agni) - not yet published, planned, 1 ch partly written; probably ~5-10 chapters

Canon Sebard WIP (Sebard, enemies to lovers, showing the development of their relationship from their meeting to the present of the manga) - not yet published (except some ficlets); planning stage

Dadbastian Crack (Sebaciel, enemies to lovers; Sebastian is a successful—if eccentric— YouTuber who dresses his cats in elaborate Victorian costumes and serves them as their butler. Ciel has business with him, even if he’s convinced Sebastian’s nuts) - not yet published; partly written; probably a oneshot

Artist Sebastian (Sebardagni, Sebagni, Bardagni, enemies to lovers; mafia au/bodyguard au; epileptic Sebastian) - Sebastian is a reclusive artist famous for his disturbing oil paintings, but FBI agent Bard is suspicious he’s involved with his brother Claude’s drug business and goes undercover to find out, joining his security team. But Seb doesn’t trust easily, only allowing Agni—his personal bodyguard—close, not making the job easy... It doesn’t help that Claude is still obsessed with his little brother and wants him for himself... - not yet published; in planning stages

Maneater (Sebard(Agni), enemies to... well, still enemies, but they fuck; demon incubus Sebastian and corrupt cop Bard) - ch 2 written but needs revision {taken over from @chromehoplite } Read here.

Undertaker’s Tales of Terror - intended to be a series of spooky tales, but I’ve only been able to write one so far (“The Cabin”). I have ideas for plenty more, but don’t know when I’ll be able to write them

Sequels to existing oneshots: like “Haunted & Horny” (Sebardciel) and “Voyeur,” (Sebard) I plan to write a second fic for each of these eventually.

I also have a lot of other ideas that are in the deep freezer, like a few crossovers (Pet Shop of Horrors, Kamisama Kiss) and Bard as a 40s defective that I hope to someday bring to life, but they may sadly never happen...

In/Exhale: S4 - Continues where S3 left off. Kai is forced to deal with the possibility of life without his brother, and managing his mental illness crisis amidst it all. Does he choose himself or his brother/family? {delayed} Read (S1) here.

Love UnSeen - M/M romance with blind history professor MC and photographer/HS art teacher love interest set in New Orleans amidst a mystery involving the MC’s father and his family Mardi Gras Krewe {~50% written, first draft; on hold for now}

But I could absolutely see that. Ciel is so devious in canon that I could totally see an AU where he’s toying with both Seb and Bard.

I could even imagine him making each of them jealous of one another by convincing each that he’s spending more time with one of them. Maybe even setting them up so they both end up showing up for a date/hook up at the same place and time, and Ciel feigning innocence, saying it was a simple mistake with his calendar, and showing absolutely zero genuine remorse.

Bard and Seb loathe one another at this point, maybe, but eventually they realize that their shared chemistry is worth exploring…. and Ciel is in charge, always, ofc course. Even when he makes each of the other men believe they’re in the lead…..

Thanks for the ask! We definitely need more poly ships in kuro, and less hate for them. (Poly ships existing don’t hurt non-ploy ships!)
