I know that we got plenty of options as to how everything with the Ender King is going to go down, but a thought that has not left my mind was the idea of the Ender King downing qPhil in some way and taking him away. Which means there would be a chat message for all to see :)

might be worth noting that tubbo got lore today because he made it canon he warped back from the boat.

i think this was confusing bc he wasn't sure initially how to play it (he is not a lore guy by trade we all know this), and waffled back and forth with it (with fun bits like "it's tuesday" or "it's a time rift"), but he definitely did make it canon.

he has the story: the boat didn't leave, he had his warpstone. he knew they would just steal him back, like they did the first time.

he has the reason: he desperately needed to see sunny before he left; couldn't sit idly by

and he made it clear that's what he wants to have happened. he told his chat to stop "-rp point"-ing him about it multiple times bc he's trying to make it canon (and told fit the same when he came back post-ghost bit).

he also asked sunny's admin whether she wanted their interactions to be filler or canon and she chose canon

plus he had a canon interaction with forever explaining it and asking him to watch over his daughter

and he and sunny built things and interacted with each other based specifically off the info he was kidnapped, that he will have to go, and that they both knew it was coming

so while you may have to ignore or recontextualize some of the goofier interactions when he initially came back (phil/etoiles/fit stuff esp), tubbo did come back, the code attack did happen, it's already been fit into the lore, and i don't doubt sunny is going to tell fit about it this week!!

Secret Life Finale Spoilers

Scar, true to form, dies by a mistake.

He trips a little (falling too far), ambles long into the dark (acting too careless), stumbles against the creatures of the night (fighting too half hearted), until he dies at the hand of some mob. He doesn't even really notice, too choked by the overwhelming loneliness that had flooded his heart the moment he'd realised he'd won.

(Was this what the others felt when they won? Was this why Pearl hadn't wanted to win? Was this why Martyn had partnered with someone with a reputation for failure? Was this why Scott had blown himself up and hand victory to his soulmate?

Was this why Grian had thrown himself off that cliff?)

So Scar dies, heart heavy in his chest. When he blinks his eyes open, though, he's enveloped in a hug, the sounds of Pearl's voice in his ears. He's surrounded by the winners, halos of light and darkness at their heads. He's getting congratulations from all sides, but he can feel the tightness in Pearl's grip, the pain in Scott and Martyn's eyes, can see the way Grian can't quite look at him.

They all know this loneliness, all too well - he can see it in the darkness of their eyes. So Scar stands. He jokes and he cheers and he drags them along in hopes of seeing the others (they'd asked the others to wait at the Secretkeeper, a voice whispers in his ear, and he feels thankful that the only ones who hollowness in his chest were the ones who understand).

So when they arrive at spawn and Gem pulls Scar and Pearl into a tight hug, Scar can laugh without any pressure in his lungs. He can weather the joking outrage at his betrayals with light apologies. He can see these people he's hurt and killed and been hurt and killed by and love them because they're all his friends.

Scar, the lonely villain. Scar, the winner.

Oh yeah Fear Alone totally changed the meaning of Project Montauk.

Furthermore there are so many other scps that continuous develop and build upon the Scarlet King mythos, so it's a shame that all of it gets overshadowed by the how messed up original 231 is. Like there is a lot more to the entire Scarlet King side of SCP stories, but people still reduce all of it to "haha edgy".

Pulling Out the Red Yarn and Pushpins for Secret Life

I was watching Pearl's Session 9 ending again and my eyes kept being drawn to the world chat as she was saying her goodbyes. We see Grian's "you won" message as Pearl wakes up in her base, then a few seconds of nothing. There's a strange cut in the footage where she is facing towards the Cherry Blossoms and an instant later is facing towards Trader Scar's and there are messages already on screen in the world chat. An already faded GG from Grian that I had to freeze-frame to catch, followed by GGs from Impulse, Scott, and Cleo. Grian then immediately leaves the game, followed by Scott, Gem, Impulse, Cleo and Bdubs.

The interesting part about this is that in Scar's POV, there is a ten second gap after Grian's "you won" message, followed by a GG from Bdubs and an immediate cut in the footage. Pearl didn't get Bdubs' message in her POV, which means she and Scar cut film within three seconds of each other. When Scar resumes filming he is climbing out of the ravine and there are no messages in chat for the rest of his episode, which means it was after the end of Pearl's goodbye message.

What does that odd little break in filming mean? Possibly nothing, obviously. There is so much editing in the average Life Series episode that you're going to get tons of overlapping cuts, especially if nothing pertinent is happening. But Pearl and Scar both cut out seconds (or fractions of a second) before Scar was about to die of prolonged zombie exposure, and for Pearl there was no obvious reason to break up a slow floating pan shot where she was in the same place after the break as before. I have to wonder if there was some kind of intervention that took place in those moments, either to save Scar's life or to resurrect him so he could finish his outro. It doesn't have any actual effect on the game, it's just interesting and I am nosy about behind-the-scenes business.

Lorewise this is equally interesting though, because it means that Grian and all the other ghosts left the world well before Scar finished his task at the Secret Keeper. The only one who even might have stuck around to watch is Pearl, and even then we don't know. It really might just have been Scar alone with the Secret Keepers on an empty world as he said goodbyes to thin air.
