Since christmas isn’t exactly a good time for me, I killed a couple hours trying to recreate Jeff’s iconic Guitar Mag outfit:

I'm as obsessed w/ Jeff’s Jender™ as everyone else, so it was both fun and daunting to see if I could do this look any justice. Best attemps under the cut ~

Without the whole sob story, I’ve gained weight this year and have been struggling with how I look and how clothes fit. And ofc along with that, feeling uncomfortable posting pics of myself. But as shitty as the quality and lighting of these pics are, I actually felt pretty cool?

All of these clothes were already in my closet too (though I did hop on ebay and spend $20 on this necklace the first time I saw the original pics... in true simp fashion).

Anyways, this was fun, so I’ll probably do it again in the future. Not to try to make it a thing, but if anyone ever feels like recreating one of Jeff’s (or anyone else honestly... imagine Build or Us???) outfits, feel free to tag me so I can hype you up :)

can we talk about it? i’m dying to talk about it. lets talk about it (link to my previous kuroo drabble here)

im OBSESSED with the idea of kuroo who was introduced to the dom/sub lifestyle by someone older. he liked the dynamics, enjoyed the release, and liked the person enough to continue it for a while. wasn't heartbroken when the affair ran its course, but when work started to spike up in stress and his only reliable form of release was kaput, he went out looking. not creepily, but with people he casually dated, flings he met on work trips, even a brief stint on tinder. he's a young bachelor after all.

he likes the control, the casualness, the constant variety that the lifestyle can bring. it's almost liberating to be able to hang up the sturdy corporate hat he wears so dutifully and fully immerse himself in a healthy, yet thorough session. and he was always open with everyone he engaged with, that he had others that he was also practicing with that counted on him, and that wasn't going to change any time soon. it's relief, it's fun, and after a hard day's work, he thinks he deserves it.

then you come into his life and manage to fuck that all up. he's working his way up the ladder within the sport promotion division which often means he has to do the dirty work of dealing with things that the higher ups don't want to deal with. this time around, it's lawyers. meeting with the counsel to ensure that all materials and slogans don't toe the line of copyright infringement and that the intellectual property of the company is protected to the highest degree and yada yada yada. he doesn't care all that much about legalese, but he's charming enough and knows how to work people to make the dry meeting somewhat enjoyable to get through it. but then he sees you.

junior attorney, newly added to the team, equally relegated to the status of grunt worker in trying to work your way up and its game over. he spends the whole meeting trying to get you to laugh, only feeling slightly defeated when you remain stoic, but still treads on. when it becomes suggested that the legal team should be meeting on a monthly basis with the promotional team just to make sure nothing goes wrong-- and when it's suggested that you, the grunt worker, will need to be the one to routinely check in with the promotional team-- well, kuroo feels like the lucky bastard who won the lottery.

and he doesn't know what he's aiming for just yet. it's not like he has some grand design or ulterior motive when he meets you, he just... meets you. likes you. wants to know you. and the monthly meetings, as dreaded as they may be by you, become the foundation for what you both will eventually embark on.

spurred on by the a brief conversation you both had about needing to find more enjoyable ways to relieve stress and your unassuming comment in which you said, "i might just start drafting contracts for fun. maybe that'll relax me."

and... lightbulb.

"well," kuroo begins, trying to stamp away the giddy butterflies that seem to float in his chest, "i got an idea for a contract you can draft up. for fun, of course."

(you're equally as interested in the idea of the dynamics when he presents it to you. the contract and its terms and conditions drafted that very night and presented to him the next day. written and sent in a very formal email and signed off as "best regards".

short answer: i, a non-native in terrain i’ve only ever navigated with 1) a glider 2) no fear of death 3) via a vessel 4) with a map, against various well trained armies, all hellbent on killing me? you’re funny.

now, the long answer…

the long answer, of course, depends on your preferred brand of isekai, as well as the various traits within that. i will… attempt at brevity, but cannot make promises. oh, and there’s no particular order to this list.

1) blood. i myself am more inclined to blue over gold, but that doesn’t matter for this topic. what does matter is if its present and if it manifests immediately.

2) teyvat. is the earth on my side? do the plants and animals know it’s me, or do i need to ‘prove’ it? does it resent me for whatever reason? what’s it’s level of influence (which sounds dumb, but do i have the power of earthquakes and storms or just a few animal helpers?)

3) the imposter situation itself. is there a physical imposter already there,and if so what’s their level of influence? origin? i’d rather go against a wayward traveller than celestia’s puppet. do they have powers? how does teyvat react to them, if at all?

4) speaking of, celestia. are they on my side, the fake’s(if there is one), or staying neutral? what brand of sagau are we even using here? i know i made a post about my version of sagau lore, but one of the key changes since then was celestia. what version of lore are we following?

5) teyvat’s people, emphasis on vision wielders. do they have that subconscious Know? do their visions act up? how do the people overall feel about the one on the throne, if there is one? if there isn’t, is celestia involved in their opinions somehow? what about the traveller, or my vessels?

6) my influence. what can i do? do i have creator abilities, and if so do they take time/some other cue to manifest? is it something i train, or just Click one day? what level? is it an element by element basis, like the traveller, or does that not apply to me? do i have an inventory? if so, can i access the character menus? the map? waypoints? can i move my party, still? do statues of the seven heal me, does food heal me, how do hillichurls and various abyssal beings react to me? ancient gods, such as rhodea (i spelled that wrong) or dvalin or that fucker in the sea outside liyue (yeah i. forgot his name) or azhdaha or yo(u?)kai, if i’m in inazuma? where are we in the in-game lore, by the way?

7) teyvat, again, but this time in terms of biology. i have a few headcanons about teyvat, notably that their gravity is lesser (less fall damage), weather less severe (global warming), and is overall much more temperate/cooler/less humid (global warmingx2 and also just a touch of idealism), so do these apply? this ties into the other points about teyvat, i guess: does the earth let me get cold? can i just shelter in dragonspine?

8) plot armor, for lack of better phrasing. will teyvat let me die? oh, and do i get timeloop’d, or kicked back to my world? do i die, go to my world, then go back to teyvat when i sleep/next log on/whatever? again, tying into other points about teyvat, but will it protect me from death? is my skin like impenetrable or something, or whoops, god is dead, sorry. if i revive in teyvat, is it like that one recent piece i did where the earth moves me? what happens when (if?) i die? does teyvat take revenge?

the long answer… is that it depends.

when at the library today i picked up a book abt typography to pick up some more theoretical skills there and to no one's surprise it pretended that european languages were the only languages in the world which like whatever i'll still learn what principles it has to teach and then try to reverse-engineer applications to cn font design based on what i know.

despite not trusting the english-language resources available online to be as in-depth or technical as i desire, i got curious and googled "chinese typographic design" anyway n scrolling through the introduction to the first result, you can kind of tell it's not written with a chinese-speaking audience in mind, or at the very least an audience with some semblance of chinese cultural sensitivities bc its section headed by the words "navigating the simplified and traditional divide" goes on to basically say it's an Aesthetic Decision which. well. is certainly a way to pretend you're avoiding politics.

i love using soulmate aus as a way to just like force characters together that i think personality wise would work but situation wise just would never happen

because even without romance it creates an almost instant connection or at least for characters that would care about having one like Percy

and he is 90% what i think about so uh yeah

and i have also been toying in my head about the idea of finding your soulmate really young being seen as a bit of a bad omen because the world wants you to find them at like “the right time” so to speak 

normally that relating to like maturity and life experience 

but also wanting you to meet at all and stuff so finding each other extremely young or when the soulmates in question are very obviously not ready would be like a sign of death of the world going

River has always had a bit of a preference towards masculine men... There's just something about a strong, capable, rough n' rugged man that makes her swoon and feel all kinds of ways, and that probably won't change anytime soon.

Still, that doesn't mean less macho men have no chance at all with her. Her daughter's father may have sported some nice facial hair that tickled the masculine fancy, but he was on the skinnier-side. Skinnier than she was even, and shave that beard off, he had an absolute baby-face. In the end, she'll always pick someone compatible personality-wise, no matter what kind of package he comes in.

This one is a little bit tricky... Being as outgoing and gregarious as she is, River would have absolutely have no problem claiming her partner as hers. However, as she is a villainous assassin-lady, doing that would come with all kinds of risks no matter what said partner's status in society is.

Boyfriend's a standard civvie? Well now she's gone and outed him as a weakness of hers, and slam-dunked him into a pit of constant danger. Boyfriend's a villain? Same thing sort-of for the both of them, and there's always that sense of reputation needing to be upheld when you're a criminal... Flings are one thing, but commitment to someone like that is another. Boyfriend's a hero? Well now she's gone and ruined his reputation and catapulted his morality into question: who's going to trust him now when he's literally in bed with the enemy?

Now, if her lover doesn't have any problem with the possible consequences of making their relationship being public, she'll proclaim how proud she is being with him to the highest heavens. However, unless it's little things that can easily be overlooked or gotten-away with, most of her love will probably be kept private.
