I had a dream last night where the Nibelheim incident was averted because Sephiroth was playing Pokemon Go, so he lead them up Mt. Nibel and all the while ZackCloud is starry eyed going "Wow Sephiroth! You're so cool! How do you know this is a shortcut?" and Sephiroth goes "No, there's a Rattata around this area that I want to catch." Actually getting to the reactor was a hassle because he was more focused on the Pokemon than the mission. Then he did end up in the library perusing the texts, but he got an alert on his phone that there was a rare Pokemon outside. He pushed ZackCloud out of the way in a hurry, ZackCloud says "NO GOD PLEASE NO DON'T BURN THE VILLAGE DOWN" and Sephiroth goes "OUT OF THE WAY TWINK FRIGIBAX IS OUTSIDE" and then I woke up in a cold sweat.

Sluggish, tired, irate, angry; Apparently that's all he can feel anymore, joy being something so far over the mountain that Genesis feels he'll never achieve it again and if that's the case then what good is it to force it or ease such a pitiful feeling unto others? It's another funk, Angeal had warned him already that the crimson commander's running on fumes and burning himself out but how bright can a star truly burn before it bursts? Perhaps it's the fact nothing was going how he wanted it to, routine thrown out of order and a dull throbbing in his shoulder that simply refused to go away, constantly reminding himself of the constant tick, tick, ticking of his mortality.

It's a thought he has far too often, wonders if others think the same when seeing the pitiful man cloaked in red even if most others shared the same broken body as his own, the occasional turquoise eyes of the puppy would linger with pity but what always made his skin itch terribly was when familiar hues of green would somehow see through his façade, only make him all the angrier at how few and far between such occasions actually happened. He's alone now, that's been something the auburn haired man had come to terms with since he'd been tossed over railing onto metal flooring and sustained an injury to the hideous black appendage that ripped through his flesh months ago. “ Good to see you too, old friend. ”

Though can he even refer to the Silver General as a friend anymore? Had they ever been friends to begin with? Perhaps once upon a time when childish idolization of the other man was far stronger than Genesis's urge to compete, and possibly even at the start of this foolish little game of his but now he wasn't so sure. There was a deep hurt that came with feeling as though one of his only friends had abandoned him despite knowing it's the other way around but the petty and spiteful youth that never quite died out had grown wrathful at how the taller man seemed to avoid confronting him, no matter how much trouble he stirred for ShinRa it was always the damned teenager sent to deal with him.

Technically Shinra sent invitations, not orders, to their people for such an event. However, Sephiroth is all but physically pushed into attending since his very presence raises views, ratings, attendee attendance, donations to various charities, etc.

Legally and publicly Sephiroth is not allowed to speak of his parentage. No questions, no memories, no nothing. So Sephiroth is forced to sit in the audience as each and every employee speaks of their own mothers and how great and loving and there for them and caring and irreplaceable their mothers are. Camera crews love getting shots of Sephiroth because, again, ratings. Getting every Sephiroth fan club to watch kind of requires Sephiroth.

He is a statue the entire event. His slit eyes never move from the speaker podium. Occasionally his eye twitches ever so slightly, his hands tense, an expression no one can decipher long stuck on his face. Every word sinks deep into him no matter how much he denies it. There is nothing he can do but watch.

Even when the speeches end, Sephiroth remains in his seat until Shinra's event committee begins packing away the chairs and tables. He leaves silently, like a gust of wind, as he passes through the halls and staircases without a single word.

After these events, he sits on his bed with every door of his apartment locked, and he shakes and trembles silently until emotional exhaustion finally claims him, yanking him into dreaded dreams acting out what he perceives a Mother is truly like. He goes back to his work the next day, and everyone is none the wiser.

heres a few of the softest/most domestic headcanons that come to mind:

(mostly asg but there is one zc too)

- genesis has a secret stash of stuffed animals, including his favorite thats a little grey cat he's had for a long time that he calls "sephy", and he refuses to let sephiroth find out about it. only angeal knows about it, and he teases genesis about "sephy" whenever he sees it but he has also promised to keep genesis' secret, partially because they have a deal that if angeal keeps "sephy" a secret, genesis won't tell zack about the time angeal absolutely gushed, and even got emotional about how proud he was of zack when zack got promoted to first (it was angeal's proudest "fatherly" mentor moment)

- the first time cloud brought zack home to meet his mom, he was incredibly nervous about how it would go, and even zack was a little nervous about making a good impression, but as soon as claudia saw them together and saw how zack treated cloud, she instantly loved zack and welcomed zack as a part of the family, treating him like a son and even giving zack her blessing to marry cloud in the future. not to mention that claudia also felt it necessary to start telling zack every single embarrassing moment in cloud's childhood, which zack found absolutely adorable, but poor cloud could only sit there in horror

- before asg went public with their relationship, the three of them, mainly genesis though, would always find ways to sneak small kisses and whisper soft "i love you"s to each other in the minuscule timeframes between their public appearances, which nearly led to them being caught numerous times. and whenever they had public appearances as a group, like interviews and whatnot, they would always do things like link their pinkies together under a table or just out of view of the cameras, or they would "accidentally" brush the back of their hands together, just doing anything they could to be as close as possible in public without being caught

- sometimes angeal will get cold since he's the only one who doesn't have a coat as part of his uniform, so genesis will lend angeal his coat, but not without teasingly "scolding" angeal the way he knows angeal would scold him or sephiroth if they were in the same position, almost as payback for all the times angeal has scolded them over small things

- on rare occasions, sephiroth will be in a very specific clingy mood where he wants nothing more than to just cuddle or be cuddled by genesis and angeal, but he never voices his desires, not really knowing how to. although despite sephiroth never saying anything, genesis and angeal are somehow always able to tell what sephiroth wants, always being able to notice the tiniest of subtle hints and differences in sephiroth's behavior, and they always find it to be the cutest thing ever, and never hesitate to give sephiroth what he wants

Sephiroth is now hallucinating, and said hallucinations are ones where everyone looks like Hojo. Cloud looks like Hojo, Genesis looks like Hojo, Angeal looks like Hojo, etc.

How insane does shit get?

*Sephiroth tries to get to his office. He's furiously rubbing his eyes and trying to snap himself out of it. Zack and Angeal walk up to him*

Angeal: Sephiroth, look at Zack's new haircut and tells him he looks stupid.

Zack: I do not! The spikes are longer, it's cool.

Sephiroth, panicking: You look like Professor Hojo.

Zack:

Angeal: I told you so.

*Genesis taps Sephiroth on the shoulder*

Genesis: Hey, I have an experiment I want to try with you.

Sephiroth: NO. HOW DARE YOU DISTURB ME IN MY PLACE OF WORK.

*Sephiroth punches him in the face and runs off. Angeal is trying to cure Genesis's bloody nose*

Zack: If anyone needs me I'll be in the bathroom fitting a paper bag over my face.

Real answer:

• Sephiroth has a sleepless second half of the night after the first is plagued by nightmares where he's a child, back in the labs under Hojo's watch. Calling them "nightmares" would be kind, because they're all memories of things that did indeed happen in the past. The next day he's seeing the man's face everywhere, feeling his hands on him with every bump and touch. He's trying to calm himself down by knowing it's all his mind playing tricks on him, but it's no use. His sense of what's real and not is slipping away quickly as derealization grips him. He just has one annoying training session to evaluate in the Second Class's training room and then he can peacefully go back to his office. He's standing there, back leaned against the wall trying not to have a panic attack, his vision fading in and out of present reality and dipping into the past. And then it happens. Zack comes up to him to ask a question. When Sephiroth doesn't answer—and looks rather pale—Zack grows concerned and places his hand on Sephiroth's arm. Sephiroth snaps back into reality and hallucinates Professor Hojo in front of him, touching him. It all happens too quick for anyone to intervene. Sephiroth breaks Zack's arm before throwing him to the floor and attacking him. It takes almost all of the second class present to pull Sephiroth off of him. When he's held down, Sephiroth slips into a catatonic state where he's internally having a breakdown that needs attention fast. He's unpredictable, a danger both to himself and others. Zack is alright—for the most part. His injuries are grave but it's nothing that won't heal with time. Sephiroth is given temporary leave until his situation is under control. And there's only one place they can send him to that will understand exactly how to deal with his being—Professor Hojo.

How often do the firsts sleep together

So it took me a hot second to figure out which AU you wanted to know about😅 so since you said “Firsts” I’ll assume AGS and if I’m wrong you can tell me!

Within the canon world AGS kind of pass each other by like caffeinated shops in the night. Because their work load is so heavy as the only First Class soldiers of their Kind, they take on a lot of work.

Well… Angeal and Sephiroth do at least. Genesis is usually up until four in the morning reading or writing essays that have no bearing on the days mission.

However, that being said they sleep together as often as they can. Usually in Angeals apartment because it’s the cosiest and he always has clean sheets. Usually if one of them is up late they sneak in when they are finished.

Sephiroth is a bit of an insomniac so 9/10 times he’s laying down for everyone else’s benefit. But also Angeals weight gives him enough comfort close his eyes and let his guard down a little. He likes to be In among them and to hear their breathing. It soothes him. He sleeps on his back (when he does sleep) so he usually ends up with Gena or Geal on top of him

Gen is an absolute cuddle whore when he sleeps. He’s not grabby but he does gravitate towards the warmest thing in the bed. He’s usually quite cold actually so either Angeal or Sephiroth ends up with a freezing cold foot on the back of their calf’s or a ice block hand on their chest. He likes to be pulled close or sandwiched between the two of them.

Angeal sleeps on his side and this usually means spooning. He’s usually the big spoon but Sephiroth’s been known to take that role a few times. Angeal has long since given up on keeping Genesis to his own side of the bed (he lost that war when he was eight) but now its become a necessity for good sleep. If Gens not practically burrowed into his chest he can’t fall asleep that easily.

Which means life gets incredibly irritating when one of them goes on a mission. When Sephs away they both toss and turn. If its Angeal who’s away Gen goes to bed alone in his own apartment but wakes up to Sephiroth awake and still in his Jacket but holding on to him. And if it’s Genesis who’s away then Angeals usually collecting Sephiroth from his office and forcing him to at least lie with him.

If two of them are away the one left behind is not sleeping.

Lazard tries to avoid sending Angeal and Sephiroth away at the same time because Genesis is a fucking nightmare when tired.

Sexuality Headcanon: Gay. So gay. Did I mention he's gay? I mean I think there is some potential wiggle room with Aerith but that's because her balls are bigger than his.

Gender Headcanon: I think in practice from an outsider POV, more agender than anything else. Gender is not really something that he thinks of and interacts with other than his discomfort with how he gets portrayed in the media. That said, I think if you asked him, he would say CIS male because that's how he self identifies so I'll respect that and say CIS male.

A ship I have with said character: Have I mentioned Genseph to you lately? No? Then I must be dead. Like I love AGSZC, I do, and even more than that, I love AGS in general because I believe they balance each other out but I could happily ship Genesis/Sephiroth on it's own maerits, but I can't see Sephiroth/Angeal on it's own. It's not a notp or anything, it just doesn't work in terms of balance for me. Genesia and Sephiroth fire and ice in balance and it just works. They push and pull at each other, both literally and metaphorically, and what they say and what their body says are sometimes in total contrast which fascinates me. Genesis is quite literally the choatic colour for a monochromatic world and Sephiroth needs that chaos to find himself so he doesn't get the desire for human smores.

A BROTP I have with said character: It's a toss up. I would say Aerith because that same feral energy comes from her (family trait clearly) but they both also have this shared experience of being former Shinra lab kiddos and her enthusiasm is only rivalled by Zack's. I feel like Sephiroth always needs someone to just grab him and move instead of asking him to come along and Aerith does that. That said, professionally, I'm fond of him and Tseng interacting. Like they have so much to deal with between choatic red heads and Heidegger being a few fries short of a moogle meal at his job, let them bond.

A NOTP I have with said character: Vincent. I can't ship something where 'that's not how your mum used to do it' is a response that could be canonically correct.

A random headcanon: Understands so much more than he's given credit for. I love to write roboseph as much as the next person, but I feel like he leans into it in a very Captain Holt type way and it's become part of his sense of humour to fuck with people by pretending he doesn't understand something or that he's not understanding their meaning till they get annoyed and let him be or call him on it. This is helped along by being so deadpan that it's almost impossible to know when he's being serious. He is a study in microexpressions and few people understand them.

General Opinion over said character: I think one of the things that throws me about Sephiroth is when people can't see CC era Sephiroth being the same guy as OG/AC era Sephiroth, but for me, this is one of the things that drew me to him as a character. That he is someone who got broken into pieces and is picking them up, emulating people, trying to rebuild a sense of self but clinging onto this belief that he's special because he's always been special. Like this is a person who is horribly broken in a lot of ways and one day, I want to write AC era and give him an arc with that but I think my main opinion of him is that I love that he's got all of these facets of his character.

He is the kid looking for validation and family from TFS, he is still the awkward dude from CC, he is the person who lost everything and chose to just get a meteor and start over and he's someone who is afraid of losing whatever he has of himself left. Like he contains multitudes, he's a fascinating character made all the more fascinating by the more normal things about him.

I've been feeling guilty about an oc incest ship recently, I've never been that attached to a ship nor into incest but I keep turning The Suffering and The Horny all over in my head. It's reassuring to ground myself in reality and reaffirm that it doesn't make me disgusting. I just have 'ugly' feelings to process. And I don't even need that justification. I mean I've been a Sebaciel shipper since I was a pre-teen but before my current incest ship I've never felt guilt or a need to justify it tbh. It's getting long and rambly but thank you. But, really. Its actually pretty common to feel guilt or anxiety about your relationship with fiction or something you're consuming in regards to fiction, and I promise you its normal.

The best thing you can do is what you are; understand and affirm that fiction is encapsulated from reality and it does not reflect who you are or what you uphold. Painting a dead body does not mean I killed someone.

Fictional incest does not equate to a real life crime nor possess a victim.

Sometimes, fiction can even help us to process our thoughts and feelings more than reality ever could. Sometimes its easier to tell a blank piece of paper your feelings than it is to tell a real person. Sometimes it takes us reading someone else's fiction to understand or learn something about our own reality.
