Edmonton Journal - Progress Alberta director to face 2024 jury trial on statue vandalism charges

Trial dates have been set for the editor of a progressive news website accused of vandalizing two Ukrainian monuments in 2021. Duncan Kinney was charged with mischief last year for allegedly spray painting the Ukrainian Youth Unity Complex’s bust of Roman Shukhevych, a Ukrainian nationalist figure linked to massacres of Jews and Poles during the Second World War.

The statue was sprayed with the words “Actual Nazi” in August 2021, a likely reference to Shukhevych’s collaboration with Nazi Germany. Some Ukrainian groups continue to embrace Shukhevych for his role in the country’s fight for independence and dismiss efforts to discredit him as Russian propaganda. Kinney is also accused of defacing a monument to Ukrainian Second World War dead at St. Michael’s Cemetery, which was painted with the words “Nazi monument” and “14th Waffen SS” around the time of the Shukhevych statue vandalism. The 14th Waffen SS was a volunteer formation of the Nazi paramilitary organization recruited from what is now southeastern Poland and western Ukraine.

Kinney, the executive director of the left-wing non-profit Progress Alberta, wrote about the vandalism on the Progress Report news site, reporting that it was the work of “an unknown person or persons.” He has pleaded not guilty and claims the charges stem from his critical reporting on the Edmonton Police Service.

Court records show Kinney will have a pre-trial conference on the charges in October, followed by a Court of King’s Bench jury trial starting Sept. 5, 2024.

Sept: Tina went to New York followed by Karl a few days later, people say he was busy working but one of the otv vlogs showed he was with their group, LA again for Name Your Price, Karl was in LA a while before leaving to England

Oct: after getting back from England late sept karl went straight back to LA and didn't leave until mid Oct, early oct he announced getting a place in la within days of tina announcing moving there at the end of sept.

Dec: the controversial one that is NOT PROVEN, but it is believed by some that she flew to portland to spend time with karl and his family between dec 14-17th (that's the week they celebrated christmas), those who believe this theory point to several things such as tina saying she was going to be unavailable, then several hours later someone on twitter saying they spotted her at lax on the 14th, her being absent from all social media and even discord during that time, as well as karl streaming from her room on the 17th saying he just got off a plane an hour ago suggesting they flew back together and then went straight to her place. also they spent the 17-23/24th together. again the portland meetup is a theory, nobody actually knows where she was during that time.

April: early april karl went to la again stayed a few days, then flew back with tina to nc she again stayed at his house, then in late april tina flew to japan to see him

June: 6/7 karl flies to la to watch spiderman with her and leaves after only being there two days, we know this because they told the same story about the movie experience they had watching it, neither knew the other told the story and neither mentioned the other was there. then they met up sometime around the 18th of june again and hung out til the end of vidcon where he briefly left to go with mr beast before coming back on the 28th and staying through july 6/7

July: stayed until the last possible moment before leaving to pack for paris, tina then flies on the 18th to nc to spend time with him on his bday, again staying at his house

August: 7-12th from what I've seen others mention

those are the ones I'm aware of between 2022 and now... with maybe one or two missing in september of 2022 and possibly others missing as well. I'm sure someone else with more knowledge can fill you on on 2021

okay drunk rant/good book recommendation time

 but if you don’t know I currently work at library as a page (the people responsible for shelving the books you return) and is currently trying to get my bachelors so I can get get a job in circulation (the people who check your books out and keep up with inventory) and also getting my masters in Libarary science so I can maybe the head of department such as children's, adult, circulation, or young adult. 

tldr: this is my fancy way of saying please listen to me I am passionate about this and literally making my whole career about this.

anyway I am currently reading this

Yume by Sifton Tracey Anipare which came out a year ago in Sept 14th 2021. This is a contemporary/fantasy novel about an African Canadian women living in Japan (by an African Canadian woman author). While I have not finished the book I am like 70% done with it and so far. Not only is this a great book for people who are into anime or love Japanese folklore but it also addresses the kind of racism the foreigners or half Japanese people face while living in Japan.

 Which is extremely important to me because as someone who is so invested in anime/manga which incorporates Japanese culture into their narratives because its Japanese and as someone who is glad to see this resurgence of anime/manga people need to be made aware that Japan isn’t this perfect paradise (so we don’t have a repeat of the early 20′s no matter how much I love that aesthetic and how childish it was) that in fact Japan has a history of colonialism (as in colonizing other countries)   and has a history( still is sorta) of being xenophobic.

This book is perfect example of representing the problems Japan has as a cultural society while still being respectful to its culture.

Anyway this is the first novel by Sifton Tracey Anipare  and I honestly can not wait to see what other books she writes next and I am differently going to be buying me a copy of this book to put on my bookshelf because I love it so much

In 2021 I noticed how the holiday season comes in full force at the end of the year and immediately drops off. I figured we needed more holidays in the beginning of the year! And so I created the following list of holidays, generated from various holiday name generators. ANYONE is free to celebrate however they wish. Also feel free to share what you did for the holiday. You know what, I actually want to know how many times TLT has been in my dreams. I keep being Amused by how frequently it appears. And every single time I think about it, I Wonder how many I’ve had.

Well, now I’m OFFICIALLY KEEPING TRACK!

As of TODAY, I am able to find NINETEEN LOCKED TOMB DREAMS! (Between this blog and the Much More Private One.) And that’s just the ones I saw fit to record!

~ May 8th, 2021: The first dream I considered to be TLT related because it involved osseomancy.

~ Around May 26th 2021: Isaac and Jeannemary cameo’d.

~ Also posted on May 26th, but never recorded in its own post: Watching a stop-motion thing on TV about necromancy, and critiquing everything they got wrong.

~ June 7th, 2021: I was reading a TLT book that felt unfamiliar and turned out to be Alecto the Ninth.

~ June 10th 2021: I found a book that was a Locked Tomb parody containing the phrase “she meditated, meditatively”.

~ June 14th 2021: As Harrowhark. Golden eyes of uncertain origin and being pulled out of The River.

~ Aug 10th 2021: As Harrowhark. The very disturbing one about the children under my watch being sick/hurt/dying and I tried desperately to save them, but was utterly helpless. (The post calls this TLT Dream #4, but I can’t find the other one that factors into this.)

~ Aug 13th 2021: Getting too close to a graveyard, Something Following Me, and to self-soothe, I started praying, of all things: “I pray the tomb stays shut forever. I pray the rock is never rolled away...”

~ Sept 11th 2021: Being flirted with too bodily and dream-me intentionally Donning Intimidating Harrowhark Vibes by posturing, saying “Touch me again and I will make it to your pain”, and turning in a swath of black.

~ Sept 13th 2021: As Harrowhark. Action/Adventure Genre dream about being pursued around a building and having a split/”jockeying” consciousness with Gideon.

~ Sept 23rd 2021: As Harrowhark. Falling through a chasm and being caught by a net before seeing golden eyes and being lifted out of the water again.

~ Sept 25th 2021: Cartoon crossover dream where Harrowhark cameo’d.

~ Dec 19th 2021: Partially As-Harrowhark dream about being separated from Gideon and getting thrown in a cell.

~ Jan 22nd 2022: Dream As Harrowhark where Gideon made me food I could eat and I felt loved.

~ Jan 23rd 2022: Harrowhark vibes dream about having hallucinations of cat ghosts and zombie hands reaching up from the floor to grab me and very laconically being like, “Can you not” at my brain.

~ Feb 25th 2022: The LARP that turned into Me As ACTUALLY Harrowhark about the undead attacking.

~ April 1 2022: The one about a fuzzy white dog nuzzling into my hand while I had long black hair, a suspected Nona Brain Reference.

~ April 13th 2022: The Nexus one about the Disney Channel necromancer parody.

~ April 25th, 2022: I dreamed a Locked Tomb comic book came out!

~ June 16th 2022: Crossover dream about Karou (from Daughter of Smoke and Bones) being a Ninth House necromancer.

My Keweisi USB Multifunctional Tester review (w/ my paper dolls) - Part 3 (Final Plus) [Sept 18th, 2022]

(1st & 2nd Images) Well, it appears that I have one more finale before I end it, once and for all. So, here's my finale plus of my Keweisi (or Kowsi) USB Mutlifunctional Tester review (w/ my paper dolls)! 🙂⚡🔋⏱️

And the reason for that is because I want to charge my honor 8C using my usual USB type C brand (Essager) this time w/ a micro USB converter, and connected to my USB tester & 20000mAh Romoss power bank. Just want to see how long will it be until 100% charged. Again, I've been manually from the past, but, with this USB tester I won't missed out.😃

• Okay, here you could see I'm setting up my charging process by starting up my Essager cable w/ Accezz's USB converter connecting to my honor phone, and then my USB tester connecting my cable through my Romoss power bank's "Fit+" USB port (which is their quick charge). I did tested my USB tester from the power bank before, and it starts counting. So, I had to restart the counting by pressing & hold the button for 3 seconds, and the charge time begin. (Please see 3rd & 4th Images ↓)

BTW: [from 0:54 to 0:55] You could see the logo of "KOWSI" when I plugged in instead of the actual "Keweisi" logo.

• Hours later, my phone was fully charged; estimating time of 2 hours & 34 minutes (41 seconds). Here are some comparisons from my past tests: ↓
