I bring forth the promissed Tails angst headcanons!!! cuz god forbid I go to sleep on time and stay asleep. Most of these (all of them actually I think) are stolen or derived from works of other people over the time I've spent in this fandom, so y'all are more than welcome to add your own!!

This one got way longer than anticipated

× Not in any particular order, but my favorite one is gotta be that those two brown foxes always seen bulling Tails are his older siblings. "Oh but they don't even look similar!!" Shh Tails has leucism, which brings its own share of problems and an extra mutation to get ostracized for. Buuut the crux of this headcannon is that irl fox family structures work like that. Unlike wolves who playfight with no real harm meant, fox kits engage in lethal baby fights, usually ganging up on the weaker and smaller ones of the litter, while the parents continue doing their best taking care of the ones that remain.

× While the topic of not so great family is up, Tails got his gambling habits from his dad. Before he ended up abandoned in the woods, that was the only way he heard was a "quick and easy" way to make money. And back in the day when Sonic was struggling to make the change, Tails offered to help in any way he could. (This is more wholesome than angst but remember!! Gambling is the ultimate evil of the world!!!) That is to say, speedrunning getting banned from every casino he visited (this is cannon actually)

× Besides many other not exactly ideal horrible things his parents done to him, one of the smaller ones was that they refused to read him bedtime stories. Absolutely fucking not. So he ignored the jealousy he felt towards his siblings and learned to read on his own very, very early on. He also cried the first time Sonic offhandedly offered to read him a story book.

× Tails is really good at hide and seek, specifically the hide part. He had to learn to be good at it if he wanted to avoid another bruise or broken bone. He doesn't really enjoy the role of seeker either, bro still hasn't found his parents (could've worded that more seriously but I'm in a silly goofy mood) as such he also doesn't like the game.

× And he feels the same about Tag. Not a big fan of being chased down for the sole purpose of than being faced with sudden physical contact. I'd say it gets better with time as most of his insecurities do, but he refuses the play as he ages up, he has no time for that!! He's a responsible adult now!! (He's 11)

× He's also really good at swimming cuz he had to learn how to swim, if he didn't want to get drowned multiple times over.

× He likes it best when he's sleeping on an elevated surface since thats where he felt the safest. Because no one would think to look for an animal who's most adapted to dig a burrow up between tree branches.

× Also one is really big fan of Tails' namesakes subconsciously twirling together into one when he's uncomfortable around someone. Even years later when he no longer feels any insecurity about them or his capability to defend himself, he kept the habit.

× Tails' fur coat is really thick and shiny now that he can properly take care of it. It hides a lot of scars and the visible ones are usually assumed to be from work accidents. Most of them are much older than his ability to tinker freely however.

× Now I bring to the table something sillier; Forever short king Tails. Listen I love older/adult Tails taller than Sonic as much as the other guy, mainly cuz I Understand that frustration of your younger siblings growing taller than you, but for today's angst purposes, he had (has) really poor nutrition and extremely stressful environment, which stunted his growth, so he shall be short forever.

× Tying into Tails not getting to eat as often when he was a literal toddler; while I generally don't feel the need to have explanations or extensive backstories for likes, dislikes and phobias of a character, someone said that when Tails was a tiny guy and starving, he learned that chewing on mint leaves helped satiate the hunger just a bit so mint remained as his comfort food and I hadn't been the same since

× And at last, way back when, all alone in a tiny cave he found and took refuge in from time to time, especially the days he felt not so well, he was almost sure he'd die of sickness once. Tails was no stranger to getting sick or wondering if hed make it through another day, but with this one he genuinely felt like he was dying. Since then, he has fully accepted that any night could be his last. For a kid not even in the double digits, he is pretty lax about the idea of suddenly facing death for good. Sonic is not a big fan of that.

Penny Polendina (RWBY)

I love my quirky little robot girl. She's the absolute best, a brilliant fighter and very emotionally intelligent. She is such a cheerful ideal, someone who tries to see the best in people. She knows when they've gone too far and isn't afraid to stand up for what she wants! Which is the whole core of her little arc. Being a weapon given a soul and all. It is a beautiful story of a little girl who cares so much and wishes to be able to just... be that cheerful little girl without the weight of the world. Its just so sweet.

2. Kafka (Star Rail)

In all honesty she's the reason I'm even playing Star Rail. She is such a mysterious character, with a voice to die for. Yes, Hoyoverse characters tend to be rather shallow (that's a gacha game for ya), but Kafka just hits everything I love in a character. Her character short when she was fully released is... *chef's kiss* just amazing. I will admit, every time she does her ult in game I join her in saying "Boom." ^_^;

3. Lyse (FFXIV)

Shocker, the leading lady of Stormblood is still my favorite? Honestly, all three of the ladies from Stormblood are the trifecta of favorites. (Lyse, Fordola and Yotsuyu) The various storylines that cause them to interact is such a delight. I wasn't too bothered by the whole "Yda was my sister" thing, cause well, Yda was barely in the game post ARR... And like, it was always Yda and Papalymo. Never just one or the other. So when Lyse got the chance to shine and actually take center stage, I was smitten. She's tough, gentle, sassy, collected, brilliant, a bit silly, and more. Such a well written character. I'm still upset she left the scions tbh. Could've added a little hair color diversity by a little bit. :P

4. Gideon Nav (The Locked Tomb)

Ok, seriously, this series grabbed me by the throat and would not let me go. Gideon is such a lovely first viewpoint (and I adore all the viewpoint characters). She takes no shit, talks a lotta shit, and can fight a whole heck more shit. The way she interacts with Harrow at first, then the other Necromancers and their Cavaliers is such a delight. Sure you hate Harrowhark so much Gideon, why are you obeying her command to not speak a single word to literally anyone else, hmmmmmmmmmmm?????? Also the gay panic that Gideon seems to have on the regular is just. Great. I don't want to speak too much more on Gideon, cause this series is just great and you should read it.

5. Raiden Ei (Genshin Impact)

Last time it was Eula, now it is Raiden Ei. It is always a toss up between them, if I'm being honest. Ei is just... such a sad puppy? XD Its the best way to describe her. So trapped in her own past and trying to do what would best preserve her sister's memory... She's just SAD guys. Yeah, she may not be the best governing force for her nation, and she indirectly killed a lotta people with her retreating away and leaving a puppet behind, but we the Traveler showed up and fixed things! Also she gets two amazing boss fights, I honestly wish I could do the story one again but I ain't working through Mondstat and Liyue again. >.>;

6. Karlach (Baldur's Gate 3)

KARLACH IS THE BEST AND SHE IS SO SWEET AND LOVELY AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO GO BACK TO HELL OR DIE OR [redacted]. She is such a lovely goofball that even shows platonic love if you don't romance her and I really think that is great! Her arc tying into Gortash was delightful, bringing her much more into the story instead of just a bystander like a couple of them. (Like out of all the origin companions Astarion barely has any connection to any of the major players in the story, he's pretty self contained tbh.) Her sweetness, the way she says she's gonna eat dirt if you leave her camp, and her cheerful demeanor are just.... Amazing. I'm really running out of words for Karlach cause she is my favorite. I'm gonna have to start BG3 up again and actually play my romance run of her soon.

7. The Doctor (Doctor Who)

Ok, a bit of a cop out since, you know, they are the star of the show. BUT COME ON. The Doctor in their various iterations have been so enjoyable. My personal favorite is Tennet's 10, but Capaldi's 12 is a strong second. Its just a good show to binge at times. There are a lottta good episodes, a few really bad ones, but overall its a good time. The scene at the end of the special where they rescue Gallifrey is still one of my favorite scenes in the whole franchise. And hell, the Archeologist is based (loosely) on them, so how can I not include them?

8. Xion (Kingdom Hearts)

Have I mentioned I love tragic characters? Xion is literally the definition of tragedy, with all the problems with her just existing lol. Her presence in 358/2 Days really made the game for me. Roxas was kinda bland and having someone that was similar in age (like Sora, Riku and Kairi were) to interact with made it all that much better. AND SHE GETS THE HAPPY ENDING. Eventually. Boy is it a long road, but that's Kingdom Hearts for ya.

8. Lucina (Fire Emblem)

I really wanna pick someone else in all honesty, but Fire Emblem has a worse problem than Hoyoverse games in their bit characters. :/ Lucina is a strong character that really delighted me when I played Awakening. She's such a surprise that it really helps make that Fire Emblem my favorite. She's got a good supporting cast too, with Robin and her dad Chrom, but Awakening was really her game. Chrom was kinda there just to be her dad lol

9. Trevor Belmont (Castlevania)

Full disclosure, I have not played his game, in fact the only two castlevania's I have played both feature non Belmont's as the lead players (Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclasia). But the way Trevor is in the show, OH BOY. He is rough, he is blunt, he is smart, he is SOOOO dumb, he is loyal, he is a fighter, he never gives up, HE IS JUST GREAT. He's also one of my biggest Bi panics when he shows how much of a badass he is in episode, I think, 4 or 5 or later? Its been a hot minute since I watched that series. When he first uses the flail weapon that I forget the name of.

10. Aigis (Persona)

Aigis is a super cutie and I love her interactions with the female protagonist. I really wish P3 wasn't such a long game and Aigis actually showed up a little earlier. She's just a doll! I do need to try and find a copy (or emulate) FES to play the storyline with her as the lead singer. Its just so rough to get thru P3 I just lose motivation. T.T I've made it to the vacation part with the female lead, like, three times and no further cause my motivation tanks. WHICH IS WEIRD CAUSE THAT'S WHEN YOU MEET AIGIS. Its just too long for me I guess. XD

(Gender Neutral) Scenario ~ A/N omg this is not a weird request at all!!! Im very happy to do this one!!!! Recently i have been seriously considering converting but idk wher to start fjkhjf sorry for taking so long!! PLS LET ME KNOW IF I SAID ANYTHING INACCURATE DEAR LORD

Trigger Warning: Religious stuff obviously, other than that just Fluff!

Alfred supports and loves you completely! His country was supposed to be a land of religious freedom, and he will defend that right to his death, goddamnit!

He has some basic knowledge of the Jewish faith, but most of the information he’s been told is horribly Christianized. A lot of is inaccurate, but rarely downright offensive. So when you correct him, he’ll end up asking a million follow-up questions. Maybe just bring him next time along you go to synagogue…

Now, anyone whose friends with him, is gonna know just as much as he does. If any religious thing gets brought up, he’s immediately trying to educate the rest of them on Judaism. It’s cute but… he’s also maybe a bit too enthusiastic. It’s like trivia night but the trivia is just things you’ve told him about your faith.

As happy as he is to spend time relaxing during Shabbat, he may get a little antsy… and a little annoying. It’s probably all that capitalist wiring messing up his brain, he’ll get used to it eventually.

Arthur has never delved deep into any religion since… well… not since the BCs. So your religion plays no part in his feelings towards you, he’d love you the same no matter what.

Even if he develops some affection for your faith, it’s unlikely he’ll be open to converting. Nothing personal, he supports you completely, it’s just… he’s just found that being religious leads to much more conflict than he prefers. 

But… if you want a wedding soon, he’s all in from the start. His country is known for their weddings, remember? And now the two of you will have to somehow throw the biggest Jewish wedding in the whole of Europe. Under your guidance, of course. Really, it’s just that Arthur wants to prove something about the two of you. But at least your family will have fun. Maybe.

Most of the holidays you celebrate, he won’t join in on unless you beg. He tells you it’s because he’s a protestant (he’s not,) but really he just feels like he’s intruding on your culture. But the days spent deliberately relaxing, doing nothing but eating traditional food? He can get behind those pretty easily.

Francis sees your Jewishness as nothing more than another fascinating piece in the painting that you are. If something is important to you, it’ll become important to him too!

Depending on your devotion level, he’ll try to support you as much as possible. But if your life revolves around your faith, he may get a little concerned. I mean,  being devoted is great! But your health and safety should come first as well. At least, that’s what he believes.

He himself, subscribes to no religion. Throughout the centuries, he’s passed from one to another, even being Jewish for a decade or two! But… that was also in the 200s… and he didn’t really commit. But if you want him to commit this time, he is absolutely ready to.

Oh, and the holidays? He would love to join you in observing them. Even the one which involve worship, he’ll happily do it as well, if you would want him to. He’ll even make a bunch of food to bring! Having such a strong community is something that’s really important to him, so he’d love to share that with you.

Whatever you believe in, it makes no difference to Yao. As long as you don’t think he’s going to hell, he’s cool with it… oh, you don’t believe there is a hell? Even better then!

He has seen many different belief systems rise and fall, so he’s never been that religious himself. The only thing he’s ever truly believed in were the things taught to him at birth, and even then he questions. But whatever makes sense to you, he’ll go along with it as well.

If you’re uber-devoted, it’s one of the main things he admires about you. It shows your courage and the strength of your ethics. Both traits he shares with you! Just… about different things. But if you’re not super into your faith, that’s totally fine too. That just means he doesn’t have to do as much.

As much as he loves taking things slow and enjoying the little things in life, he’s  quite the workaholic at heart. After a few Shabbat weekends, he’s itching to just spend time working on his home projects. All of which are…  pretty intense.

This is absolutely wonderful! Ivan would love a Jewish S/O, as he really respects the religion and culture surrounding it. 

Surprisingly, for an Orthodox Christian, he’s very familiar with the faith. Especially its history with his own religion. He rationalizes the differences between you as simply different ways to worship the same thing. Whether or not that’s accurate is up for debate, but either way, he supports you fully.

He’d love to observe Shabbat with you! Setting aside time, specifically just to enjoy the peaceful, domestic beauties of life… he completely understands why this would be a holy practice. He’s a little upset his own people haven’t caught onto that yet… why doesn’t everyone do that?

He shows his support for your beliefs in a… very Kiku way. He won’t bring it up often, but he’ll do a ton of research on his own time. Hi!! I saw your MK mystery swap and was going through the doc and saw the red eye Jake is not to be featured? I haven’t been back to this fandom in a long while so I’m not aware if Jake having the red eye depicts him seriously wrong..?

Hi! Totally no worries, it’s something that’s become pretty ubiquitous and widespread and on platforms where there’s less discussion or talk ab it it’s not as, well, talked about!

Essentially, giving Jake the red eye is harmful for a mix of reasons, all generally tying into that it contributes to the idea of him being sinister or evil or “other” in some way. From what I know the trend of it started from a mix of those in more anime-art communities giving it to him (as a shorthand/visual of him being more sinister, violent, unhinged, etc) and then people either followed that after seeing it enough or went with it off the behind the scenes image showing Oscar as Jake wearing some kind of dark contact. Whatever the reason, it has a whole lot of connotations in the end that aren't great.

From the start its a differentiation detail thats not needed. It's not canon, and Jake is probably the system member with the most visual cues to indicate Its Him (hat, mustache, gloves or jacket, etc.). From there we get into implications and connotations. The one red eye is often used or helps to imply something off or sinister, most often seen in extra violent/"evil" or bloody art of Jake, or as a visual to make him seem out of place or like he's hiding something. It's a glare, a twinge of villainy or “madness” etc. And even if that is not the intent when giving it to him (I’ve seen plenty of art that’s chill and fine where it’s a choice that’s been made) it's easy to have it be read that way anyway, as that is not only the culture that has grown around it on a larger scale, but as a visual shorthand it still gives him an offputting feature that separates him from the others for no real reason. Why does he have it? What does it mean? Why is he the one given it and for what reason, etc.

In the end it all overall contributes to the wider view or stereotype of him as the "evil alter,” again, even if the depictions of him with it do not do that intentionally. Jake is the outsider, the one with madness in his eye, with some kind of hidden violence. It also can contribute to some antisemitic stereotypes, depicting a Jewish man with a sinister feature or the "evil eye,” especially if tying into his shooting of Harrow as some “unhinged” thing instead of rightful revenge.

This post and the additions and discussion below go further in depth on certain things and have points of view from others as well, but overall it’s just something better to avoid as it’s not needed as a detail and has become a wider hallmark of evil alter Jake depictions in fandom (similar to only giving MCU!Jake the nose bandage, perpetuating that he’s the one in the Duat scene with the broken nose, which can b blurrier but I can also talk ab if needed!) so it’s better to steer clear of!

But not knowing about it before is not a bad awful “you suck” thing, again, it’s extremely widespread due to a bunch of different factors, and if you don’t know you don’t know! Tumblr is also the main space I’ve seen any mentions or discussion of it happening due to the blogging nature. I hope this helps and if you have further Q’s I’m happy to answer as well :-)

yeah im leaning heavily towards starting with icewind dale, i think itd be fun to start with seeing how drizzt is characterized before being designated giga series protagonist, without me already knowing a lot about the gang. but i suspect if i make it through one book at all, i'm going to read at least both of those trilogies eventually.

i've read a bunch of salvatore stuff as a kid (there was a thing with a nerd who lives at a library and then becomes the chosen of god and defeats his father and his father's boss or something? very aspirational. first time i heard "forgotten realms". and another thing with a guy who is raised by sword fairies to basically become aragorn i think. some other stuff. it's inexplicable i never got into drizzt books except maybe the local bookstore hated drow) so i feel like i roughly know what to expect in terms of tropeyness. i was present for i wanna say the latter half? second third? of the dragon heist thing but we didn't engage with jarlaxle much, in my mind he was just an inconvenient antagonist guy and being surprised that y'all are so into him is a good part of why i started paying attention to the drizzt posting. we did want to steal his hat though.

does all the drizzt stuff hold up or does salvatore eventually start phoning it in? is there like ongoing character arc things or do the character arcs happen in the first few books (i hate saying it like this) and the rest is kinda The Further Adventures Of style?

Oh cool! If you've read his Cleric Quintet, some of the characters from that show up in the Drizzt books, too.

Personally, I think the later books hold up? This is kind of a controversial opinion in some parts of the fandom, and I won't deny that there are parts of the series that wallow a little, but it's not because Salvatore has run out of things to do with the characters, it's because he takes their trauma seriously and sometimes that means spending a while with a character who is straight up not having a good time right now. And this is compounded by the fact that Drizzt is a very young elf at the start of the series; around the middle there's an editorially mandated time skip and Drizzt goes from a traumatized teen who is coping through the Power of Friendship to a traumatized young adult who has outlived most of his mentor figures. There is a definite tone shift, is what I'm saying.

I think they're still really good, and Drizzt does eventually regain his equilibrium. The later parts of the series are also increasingly an ensemble act, with Jarlaxle and Bregan D'aerthe taking more of the spotlight. If you went up against the magnificent bastard (affectionate)(also derogatory) in Dragon Heist, you've had a taste for what it's like to be on the receiving end of his shenanigans, and yeah, that's frustrating. (My WDDH party actually ended up allying ourselves with him, and he still manages to be deeply annoying sometimes.) But he can be really fun to watch work when he's not messing with you, and he's a great foil to Drizzt. A lot of the time Drizzt just wants to be left alone to live a life that's not defined by his origins; Jarlaxle is all about drow solidarity and bringing what he's built with him.

Look, this is the blorbo and if you see similarities between his backstory and Kazan's, no you don't. Mentioning either him or the manga is enough to get my friends to sigh and groan as they await the inevitable gushing/rant that'll follow (which reminds me that I haven't, actually, gushed about him or ranted about the manga in quite a while now). Which is to say, I love lonely sad villains/antiheroes and if you've ever seen me mentioning the forbidden blorbo, now you know who I'm talking about.

Emet-Selch, from FFXIV

At this point I feel like I should mention that I do not stand in favor of manipulating or killing people as a form of therapy :'D

A bit more seriously though, I think he's the first character I felt so viscerally about in the game? Like I never agreed with his views but going through ShB I really hoped we'd managed to bring him to our side. My tragedy-loving ass won't complain about how ShB ended for him, mind you, but still.

Honorable mention for Thancred too, whom I feel more and more attached to as times passes, and also Y'shtola but in her case it's perhaps more the fact that she's, in terms of behavior, very much My Type.

Madi, from Black Sails

There are many great characters in that TV show and if you haven't seen it, I can only recommend it to you. But really, Madi is my favourite of the lot and definitely the inspiration for Inge if I had to pick one.

Between her cleverness, her dignity, her integrity, her charisma, her dedication to her people and her cause and her curiosity about others, what's not to love about her?

Varric Tethras, from Dragon Age 2 / DA:I

I was hesitating between Isabela and Cullen, but then I remembered the Best Companion Ever and how could I not put Hawke's most loyal friend on the list? I love him, love his loyalty, how he stays compassionate despite all he goes through, his sense of humor, his honesty... Only wish we could have romanced him in DA:I, but on the other end I like his story with Bianca so I'm not too sad about not being able to.

Byakuya Kuchiki, from Bleach

In the spirit of this dash game I'll respect the rules and make a choice, but if I'd filled this list any other day, I might have put Grimmjow there instead :'D

Anyway. I love a stubborn man with a stick up his ass and too many (conflicting) principles despite a rebellious heart who needs to be almost killed to start thinking that perhaps, just perhaps, he could have handle a Situation better.

And I love this character development past that point.

He wasn't an inspiration for Wolfe, but they're very much alike in several aspect. Byakuya is, however, a lot better at keeping a straight face.

Lois Habiba, from Torchwood S3

I haven't watched Torchwood in a long time but I remember her. In fact I remember Lois better than I remember some of the main cast.

She was just a normal young woman who had managed to get a really good job and risked everything to do the right thing and idk. She was just a really solid character that deserved better recognition.

Dean Winchester. Do I need to say from where?

Look, I loved all five seasons of Supernatural. A shame they didn't add more later!

And with Dean it's a bit personal so I'm not gonna go deep in details about it, but let's just say that there's quite a bit of me that I recognized in him and I just want to give that man a hug.

Donna Noble, from Doctor Who

I'm not up to date with the new seasons/episodes so no spoilers please!

But hm, yeah. I think what I loved the most about how Russel T. Davies was directing the show was how real his everyday people turned companion felt, and while I preferred Rose when I was younger, the older I get, the more appreciation I have for Donna.

She's just so full of life and character, so brave and so unapologetic about being herself despite her self-esteem issues, but I think what I love above all else about her is how she always acted as an equal to the Doctor.

I'm gonna repeat myself but really, the older I get, the more I love her. And I really need to catch up :'D

Cain Hargreaves, from the Cain saga

Honestly I don't expect anyone to remember this manga XD It's an old one I read when I was a teenager and one of the few I kept despite not having re-read it in 10+ years. I don't remember that much from it but I do remember the ending quite well.

Anyways. Cain's a young earl with a tragic past, a strong sense of justice, more money than common sense, a love for poisons and a fear of commitment. Truly, what could go wrong with such a character?

Also:

"Have I ever failed a promise to you? - Yes, all the time." after his sister made him swear he'd come back to her alive is just perfect.

Spike, from BtVS

He's devoted, he's cruel, he's romantic, he's brave, he's pathetic, he's capable of taking responsibility for his actions... I love a multifaceted character and I've had a soft spot for Spike ever since I've watched the series for the first time.

I rewatched it not too long ago and it didn't age that well imo, or maybe I'm just more critical than I used to be, but I still think Spike is an awesome character and I love that it was in spite of Whedon's intentions for him.

i enjoy seeing it! what i don't like is people going "lol no hate on my google translate spanish/whatever language" (mostly when the language is poorly applied) bc we not only have the technology/better websites to use, but real people online willing to assist with translating/contextualizing. if you're going to do it, give it its due diligence. fingers crossed i can follow my own directive on that.

Summary: The Johnsons are humans again, but their relationship with the Norse gods is not quite done yet. The woman Anders had been longing for shows up holding a red stone and asking for Colin which proves that she wasn’t a mortal as he had thought. When she meets Colin, Anders starts to feel a very disturbing feeling of jealousy. Will he do something about it?

Beware of the dragon | Oneshot

Being a mortal sucked. That was Anders' conclusion after a full week without Bragi's powers. If it wasn't for Dawn he had no idea what would've happened to his company, seriously. It was ridiculous how much he had relied on his silver tongue to sweet-talk his clients, what the actual fuck. He knew his business, of course, and he still had the cute blue eyes, his nice smile with those dimples that made people look at him twice… Yeah, sure, Anders' had his tools, but they didn't work with everyone. However, he was a great judge of character and was able to understand if his client needed to fat their ego or if they were more on the 'saving people' end of the line. If only his business had not been blown before the whole stunt…

He wanted to get drunk after a tedious day at work. He had named Dawn as a partner of his company to acknowledge her talent and hard work, and even if they still had to cover her previous position by hiring someone, they decided to go celebrate. Ty, as might've been expected, had Mike agreed to them using the main floor of his place as a get-together point of reunion; they would drink, congratulate Dawn, probably at Anders' expense, and then they all would go to dinner or a pub or something. Ty was the guy with a plan, Anders' just wanted to get pissed.

As the Johnsons together with Dawn, Hanna, Gaia, Zeb, Michele, and Stacey entered the place, they found a woman behind the bar playing with a shining red stone. Her eyes looked at all of them as a predator would.

"Welcome home. Now, who's going to tell me where Colin Gunderson lives?"

When the others glanced at Anders looking for answers he had none to give. She had been occupying his mind for a week now as he thought that with his change of status, she would've forgotten him.

Thinking now, there must've been signs that pinned her down as something else than mortal.

The first time Anders saw her, she was surrounded by books in her cozy office. Her personal assistant had made him enter the room, but she was still so focused on her books that she hadn't noted the new presence, or so the thought. Anders cleared his throat and her intense look pierced his soul, his skin breaking into goosebumps. As he introduced himself in the name of his company, she accepted his presence as well as the idea of having her publishing company work with J: PR.

Anders was unable to forget her after that. She was a constant presence in the back of his mind, never suffocating or incapacitating, just there. As time went by, Anders found himself seeking her company in a platonic way. He longed so hard for her that he just took whatever she was willing to give. The idea of using his powers to have her was out of the question, just as much as the possibility of her finding him attractive or worthy. Anders had no idea why the fuck he thought that, but the moment those eyes glued to his, he was unable to be pretentious.

Then the whole incident with Rosie happened. She had shown up to J: PR with a frown and a clenched jaw.

"What the fuck have you done?" She scolded.

"I haven't done anything," he put on his best innocent facade. "Look, if Rosie gave him the pills it's just–"

"Don't you dare to lie to me," she seemed to growl, her voice deeper than usual, coming out from the core of her chest. Anders' mouth dried out.

"He's a better client. That's all. This is business." His own confession surprised him.

She sighed with disappointment. "You had a loyal client and you just stabbed her in the back. Am I supposed to expect the same behavior on your part, Anders?"

"Never." His voice waved. "I will never do something like this to you!"

"How can I believe you now?" Her shoulders dropped with exhaustion. "I think it's better if we part ways."

"What? No. Hey, come on, don't do this. I'll fix it! I will!"

First Dawn quit her job wearing earplugs and now this. Bragi's voice itched in his throat, willing to be of use and this time avoid her for leaving him. It never came up. She turned around and left the office while he was frozen in place unable to say anything else, unable to process the panic that was crawling under his skin.

He had to fix the situation, and he did. He fixed Rosie's reputation, engaged Dawn in the job again, and, finally, he went to The Hoard Publishing. She listened to everything he had to say, which was good, but unnerving at the same time. When she accepted to keep the business relationship Anders felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

That's how their weekly dinner meetings started. Every Tuesday, Anders would go to The Hoard Publishing with some takeout after work and just have dinner with her there while talking about nothingness. When he was in her cozy office he felt more at home than in his apartment. The furniture was homey with warm tones, fabrics, and woodwork. She had a couple of armchairs that screamed comfort. The walls of the room were dressed with shelves from floor to ceiling, all of them heavily stocked with books. It didn't matter where he looked, books were piling up on every surface, and each week the books that surrounded her on the desk were different. He should've felt overwhelmed and even claustrophobic in that environment, but instead, he felt content.

More times than not, Anders felt the pull of just blurting out his with to properly date her although he wasn't the dating type; maybe that's what stopped him. He didn't want a one-stand with her and the possibilities of him engaging in a long-term relationship were scarce.

That's when his mother sent him away looking for Yggdrasil. All that time away, all those Tuesday nights missed, for the damn stick to get hold of at Customs. Not only that! His baby brother got super sick and forced them to lose their powers, the egg.

Everything was wrong, wrong, wrong.

"What happened to your face? Are you applying for a dwarf role in the new Peter Jackson production or something?" She asked with a sweet smile when he finally gathered the courage to visit.

"You don't like my beard?"

"Hides your dimples."

"So, you like my dimples, then?"

"You love yourself way too much, Anders."

He shrugged, "If not me, then who?"

She nodded accepting his logic. After that, it was as if he had never left. He was afraid that the time without seeing each other would make the reunion awkward, but it was the opposite. Anders felt like he was finally complete, and that was terrifying.

Then Helen happened, and Gaia after that, which filled Anders with so many contradictory feelings that he decided to avoid the publisher as much as possible. He hated it, of course, and not only because she was the only big client in his company after the big fiasco next to the people from the uneatable cereal and the dog food.

"Tell me you're not sticking your nose in politics." Was the first text in weeks that she sent to Anders.

How she found out was a mystery. Yes, Colin had offered Anders a huge amount of money for helping him with the campaign to be Auckland's new mayor. He wanted that, needed that thrill, that emotion, the idea of being him behind someone else's success. His name flew mouth-to-mouth until his company became the most requested of them all. Of fucking course he wanted that!!

They stopped talking since then and Anders kept telling himself that it was because he was too busy with Colin's campaign and that his Tuesday nights were full.

One day, for whatever reason, she walked into J: PR after Ty as he was in a rush to deliver something. She waited patiently while Dawn signed the receipt. The office was full of life with workers for the campaign, not that she paid attention to anything; Anders had seen her appear and debated on whether or not to get up and do some small talk. Ty turned to leave finding the door blocked by Colin. After a few uncomfortable words, Anders' brother left and Colin asked Dawn for something.

She was happy to wait, obviously, but she didn't like to be ignored by Dawn as she made a beeline to Anders' desk to ask him about the whole deal between Ty and Colin. Once her curiosity was mostly satisfied she turned to go back to her seat suddenly realizing that the publisher was there, waiting.

"Dawn, could you get me the documents we talked about?" she asked the blonde.

"Oh! Of course, sorry."

The woman searched in her workplace for said documents while Colin took in the publisher's presence. He looked at her head to toe a couple of times before wearing his best smile and playing with his best manners.

"I'm afraid we've not been introduced," he offered his hand. "My name is Colin Gunderson, and I am now running for mayor."

She shook his hand introducing herself with weary eyes, "I'm not really into politics, Mr. Gunderbar."

"Gunderson," he corrected with a polite smile.

"Sure," she dismissed his correction.

"You know, I'm looking forward to improving the well-being of our marvelous city. You might not be into politics, but I'm sure there's something you'll want to improve, isn't it?"

"I guess, although I doubt you have the citizens' best interest at heart, Mr. Gundermorguen."

"Gunderson," he grumbled. "I totally understand your skepticism, as you have not heard yet my great proposal. Anders! Anders, tell this beautiful woman about my campaign."

Anders, who was having a great time with her intentional mistakes on Colin's last name, started talking about it but got cut out when she seethed.

"I don't care. And, Mr. Gunderthunder–"

"Gunderson."

"–I'm very good at pointing out liars. Want to know why? Because their mouths stink from all the bullshit that comes out of them. Now, give me back my hand, Mr. Gundermoth, as I want to leave."

Colin was obfuscated. He was clenching his jaw with ire, biting down his comeback as he still wanted to be on Dawn's good side. Anders saw that on him as much as the mischievous grin the publisher gifted them. Once she had the documents in her hands, she left without looking back.

"What was in those documents?" He asked Dawn as Colin decided to have some alone time in the bathroom.

"The information about her company that we've collected over the time she's been our client. Her new PR company needed it."

"New what?"

"I told you like a thousand times, Anders. Do you really not listen to me? The Hoard Publishing canceled our contract. Thank god it was just after you decided to do this campaign with Colin or we would be drowning."

Everything was dark in Anders' heart after that. When Colin insinuated using Bragi's power to lure Dawn into sleeping with him it was the last straw. Anders was cunning and power motivated, sure, but he had standards and principles; especially since Rosie's incident, his conscience had developed extra roots. Without Colin's money, J: PR got back to anguish. Anders hesitated for a few weeks until he decided to suck it up and drag his cute little bum into The Hoard Publishing; he begged and pleaded, but even in his desperation he did not resort to Bragi.

She had accepted to renew her faith in him and Anders pushed his luck further by inviting himself on Tuesday night to have dinner with her like before. It had been awkward at first, but he had missed it so much that he overlooked the uneasiness. He even flirted with her!!

Understanding that after the ritual between Odin and Frigg, the mortals would forget about them, that she was going to forget everything about him, it was quite a shock.

On his penultimate day as Bragi, Anders burst into her office and slashed open his heart and soul to her. He didn't tell her about the god stuff because he knew it was insane, but he explained the sleepless nights he spent thinking of her, of how much he longed for her touch, her smile, her undivided attention… His palms were sweaty and his breath was shaky while waiting for any kind of reaction on her part.

She looked at him over at the manuscript she had been correcting, blinking slowly as she took him in. He swallowed feeling extremely vulnerable and exposed. Cautiously, the same way a predator would approach a prey, she closed the distance between them and caressed his cheek with a feathery touch. Anders gasped when her fingernails scratched his stubble. He had kissed a lot of women since he hit puberty; this was different. That kiss made his skin burn with desire, his finger itching with want, and moans creeping on the back of his throat unable to stop them.

The realization hit him when they were recovering from a night of nonstop lovemaking; he had no clue about what to do to make her remember him. He wasn't Ty, he didn't know if he was able to work extra hard to win her over again. Especially since he had no fucking idea how he had done it, to begin with.

That's how he had ghosted her for the whole day as he slept with Michele, went with her and Mike to the casino, and, finally, participated in the ritual by saying his goodbyes to Bragi. Hence how Anders hadn't seen her in a while.

He gaped at her as she was waiting patiently for them to speak.

As she seethed, she turned around the bar to sit on one of the stools.

"Do I have to repeat myself?"

"We don't know where Colin is." Ty squared his shoulders to look bigger.

She crocked her head to the side taking a deep breath through her nose. "It doesn't smell like a lie, but it's not a truth either. I don't like it. Too ambiguous. Also, it's not what I asked Tyrone. Where does he live?"

"I'm sorry, but what is this about?" Mike stepped forward.

"Well, Bragi told me that Loki never made it to Asgard, and Odin's certain that the asshole is still here. As they're now happily away from Midgard they've decided to use me to clean their mess," she looked to the ceiling, "although I. AM. NOT. YOUR. PET."

"A dragon!!" Olaf yelled with a sudden realization.

Ingrid looked at her, eyes wide. "Of course… Oh, we've been so blind! I knew there was something off with you."

"Wait. Wait! I'm not getting what's going on here," Anders walked closer to her but kept a secure distance. "Firstly, what do you mean that you've talked to Bragi? And secondly, what the fuck do they mean by you being a dragon?"

"Your confusion smells funny, Anders." There it was, the predatory smile that made his heart flutter.

"Dragons are mythological creatures just as giants or dwarfs, though scarce. They're possessive, and they hoard. I didn't know they had a good relationship with gods," Ingrid explained, the publisher who was, in fact, a dragon got up to the stool and faced her with a finger pointing menacingly.

"Hey! We wouldn't have eaten gods if they stopped trying to hunt us down for our skin. And my hoard is none of your business, mortal."

"They're also patient creatures when suited, but they have some fierce temperament. They have an extremely sensitive sense of smell. Hello," Ingrid finished slightly uncomfortable with the dragon's proximity.

She snarled and retreated to her stool, crossing her arms over her chest. "You know, now that you're mortals and away from the gods' business, the best thing for you would be to just answer my question and I would be out of your sight."

"You can't just show up saying Loki's still here and expect us to pretend we don't care," Mike stated.

"Why not?"

"Because we care!"

She scrunched her nose, "Liar. You don't care, you're just bored with your mortal life." Mike started to complain, but she wasn't paying attention to him, her head shot up looking at the ceiling. "Oi! Shut the fuck up, you smug idiot. Do I look like I'm wasting time on purpose? If you're so worried, get your pretty ass down here and DO THE JOB YOURSELF!"

Massaging her temples she sighed, and locked her eyes with Anders', "How did you manage to share a life with Bragi without developing a chronic migraine?"

"It's not like he talked to me directly."

"He did," she dismissed. "What? Well, I guess not with precise words and using his own voice, but he definitely communicated with you. And now won't shut up."

"All right, as former Odin, I propose we all calm down and you explain what you want with Colin. Try to do it like we were toddlers," Axl quickly added sensing her patience shaking.

Apparently, after the ritual, Loki had left for Midgard, but he never made it to Asgard because Colin had used that red stone to link Loki. He had thrown the stone at the ground when everyone was leaving, only to return later and use it to drive Loki back. The god was now powerful enough to use his magic to shapeshift until his appearance was the same as Colin's. In the beginning, both of them had lived in Auckland but Mortal!Colin was too egocentric to subdued himself to God!Colin, which ended up with Loki using the stone to absorb the mortal; then he got rid of it, and because he's a nostalgic little shit, he threw it at the same spot where the ritual took place.

Bragi, who had been pestering her since he had gone to Asgard, warned her about the Loki situation and she performed the investigation that gave them answers, but she had no idea where she could find Colin as his old house had been sold.

"And are you strong enough to force Loki out of here?" Mike asked skeptically.

"I haven't eaten a mortal in five hundred years, Mikkel, want to be the one who breaks my record?" She snarled.

"We can lure him here," Axl proposed and his brothers voiced their concerns and complaints. "Hear me out. He's pretending to be Colin, he'll come here, especially if Mike challenges his virility and power. Then she can take him down or whatever. I think it's easier than looking for him somewhere else. I'm sure that he knows Odin had noticed his absence."

"Huh… It's interesting to see that you can use your brain from time to time, Axl." She pinned Mike with her eyes, "Call him then."

"I don't have his phone number."

She growled shaking her head in disgust, "Do not lie to me."

"Do it, Mike," Anders ordered with a frown.

"Fine," Mike threw his arms into the air in surrender.

As he was lying on the phone, she scratched her nose in disgust. Anders was unable to tear his eyes from her. Paying attention to her using the new information in his mind, he was able to pin down the elements that screamed what she was. First, it was her whole demeanor. She held herself as she was bigger and stronger than she looked, she owned every room she stepped into with her precise movements, her chin up, and her eyes scanning the place as if she was looking for someone. Now Anders thought that she was probably looking for a menace. Dragons, as he understood, were very weary of their surroundings and not particularly social, that's why it shocked him extra hard the fact that she welcomed him into her lair (her office in The Hoard Publishing) weekly.

"You hoard books," he voiced one of his conclusions about her.

Apparently, the change of subject helped her focus on the smell of his words instead of Mike's. "Knowledge, mostly. But, as it turned out, knowledge comes in books. They smell good as well."

"You knew? That I was a god, I mean."

"Yes. Bragi has always had a particular smell; like when the bananas are so ripe that although they're still sweet, they have an acid undertone." She seemed to deem for a moment, pursing her lips. "However, it was very subtle and I must admit that I missed it at the beginning. Your own essence blocked Bragi's."

"My essence? What– What do I smell like?"

"Sex. Weed. Smoke. Chemicals from the drugs. And lies. It's a very intense… odor. No offense."

"Yes, offense! What the fuck? If I smell that bad why did you spend time with me willingly?"

"Because you smell better when you're being honest. Plus, on Tuesday nights you paid extra attention to not smoking, or drinking, although I'm positive it was unconsciously."

Thinking about it, she was right. He noticed how she subtly kept more distance between them if he had smoked or drank that day, and then he stopped having sex on both Mondays and Tuesdays just to be closer to her. All this time he thought she had some sort of analytic eye, like the detectives of noir novels.

Once Colin accepted the meeting, she busied herself playing with the red stone at the bad, twisting it and turning it like a spinning top. The Johnsons and the former goddess were free to go and do whatever they wanted at that point, she didn't need them anymore, but they were all so captivated by being in the presence of a dragon that leaving seemed unnatural. Pouring themselves some spirituous drinks, the mortals gathered away from her where they could still look at her while mumbling their wildest hypothesis.

Anders didn't like the picture in front of him. They had made her into a zoo attraction, a wild animal bored to death in a glass cage with thousands of tourists peeping in wanting for it to suddenly become a savage ball of raw rage. She was doing her best to ignore them, focusing her attention on the stone, but Anders knew her well enough to see how her nonchalance was a facade. She was gifting them her patience, which was one step behind on running out.

She started to whisper under her breath and Anders thought she was probably cursing them for using her as a freak show, that was until he heard her say Bargi's name. A conversation, that is what it was. Bragi was having a conversation with the dragon, one that only she could listen to and understand. Oh, Anders hated it. His stomach started to turn, a sour undertaste overflowing in his mouth. If she had known he was Bragi's vessel this whole time, would it mean that she wanted to fuck Bragi to begin with? That night in which Anders threw himself into honesty in front of her, did she accept him because of him or because of Bragi.

Fuck, he was jealous.

That was new. He had never experienced jealousy like that. He'd had troubled thoughts due to his brothers and the attention they received from their mother when they were young, sure. He'd envied Ty and how easily people seemed to like him even with his poor anger management. But jealousy because someone he was interested in was more interested (or could be more interested) in someone else? Never. It was new and he didn't know if he was able to control it. That was frightening. He'd seen a lot of people do stupid things because they were jealous, including hurting the people they most cared about, and he didn't want to be just that toxic towards anyone, much less towards her.

Abruptly, she picked up the stone, put it in her pocket, and jumped the bar hiding behind it. Colin entered Mike's place seconds later as if he owned it, almost dancing with each step exuding confidence. When he saw the congregation he said some sarcastic and bitter remarks unaware of the woman that closed the exit on his back.

"Sit." To the growl in her voice, Colin turned immediately eyeing her.

"I know you, you were the lady not interested in politics. Well, I'm not running for mayor anymore."

In a fluid movement, she pushed the man into a chair sitting on top of him, her chest vibrating with her constant growl.

"Uh, is this a lap dance?"

"What does the red stone do, Gunderbar?" She growled.

"I'm Gunderson. Colin Gunderson. And I have no clue what are you talking about. Hey! Johnsons! Do something with this crazy woman!"

She smiled showing her teeth to be dangerously sharp. The iris in her eyes changed to an unnatural green as her pupil slanted vertically and the white in them disappeared. As her growling increased her chest and throat started to glow.

"Fuck! Get off me!! Johnsons, a hand!!"

"You've been naughty, Loki Laufeyson."

"I'm not Loki, I'm Colin."

She grabbed his face, claws instead of fingernails, keeping him in place as her other hand ripped his clothing. "Lying liar that lies. I hate it. They don't smell good. Talk the truth."

Logically, Anders knew he should be scared while the woman he knew was turning more and more into a dragon, but he couldn't help the arousal that broke his skin into goosebumps. However, at the same time, there was a bitter twist setting in the pit of his stomach. The jealousy was hitting him hard again, this time not because of her close friendly relationship with Bragi, but because of bloody Colin. Yes, she was menacing at the moment, with Colin completely at her mercy, yet she was sitting on top of him, touching him, the distance between their faces almost inexistent… Anders hated it. He was fucking jealous and he wanted them to break apart immediately.

Her claws had broken Colin's skin on his chest, but he wasn't buggering. Anders could see how Mike was growing restless with her interrogation, perhaps he was questioning whether she was right or not about Loki's identity. When his brother moved just slightly to intervene, Anders grabbed his arm pulling him behind his back. The dragon's eyes darted toward them calculating the odds. Anders shook his head praying that she got the message.

"My patience had run out. Open your mouth."

Colin fought to break free, but dragons are naturally strong. With one hand on his hair pulling his head backward and another on his jaw, she made him open his mouth. The light on her chest and throat gleamed stronger, she put her mouth on top of his and the fire entered his body illuminating it from the inside. As she pulled away, the audience stood dumbfounded as Colin had just swallowed the fire with no consequence.

"God of fire," Anders mumbled.

"A dragon. Of course. I should've known that my dear father would send a bloody dragon to catch me. What now, deathly monster?"

"The stone," before he could tell something, she inserted her claws into his stomach making him whine in pain. "Only the truth."

"The mortal's inside."

"Oi, hot stuff, you there?" She looked at the ceiling. "Hum… That's going to let a big hole in this place." She tilted her head, "Okay, that sounds better. You, up, Odin's going to grab you."

Dragging him by the nape, she pulled Colin outside followed by the Johnsons. A strong white light illuminated them and suddenly the dragon and Loki were gone, in their place was a red stone that burst open with a magical light; a very human, very mortal, and very naked Colin Gunderson stood in front of them complaining.

The Hoard Publishing was still active, therefore Anders drove there after three showers and a long speech in front of the mirror full of truths and honesty knowing that his breath would smell better then. Uninvited and unwanted, he strode inside her office where she was correcting a manuscript, just like the time he slept with her.

"I miss you."

She frowned. Her head tilted to the side and her nose twisted just slightly; his smell must've surprised her because she blinked fast after a sniff in his direction.

"I've wanted you for a long time, but I didn't think you would want me. When I finally gathered the courage… Fuck, you were supposed to be mortal. If I knew you were going to remember me… I… I didn't look for you after becoming mortal because I thought you deserved better than me."

"And don't I now?"

"No. Yes! I mean… Yes, you still deserve better, so much better than me, yet I reckon I'm a better option than Bragi, you know? That dude's married. And– And although I'm a mortal now I know that you're a dragon so you won't have to hide it from me. I'll be completely yours… If you want. If you– If you'd have me."

Damned his voice and how it died with uncertainty at the end of his speech. Nonetheless, he stood there, unable to tear his eyes from her, praying to the gods that he could have this, just this one thing. Ty had Dawn and the mortal life that he so much craved when he was Mr. Freezer. Mike had a big bank account and Hanna with him. Axl had gotten back with Gaia and Zeb was still his best friend. Anders had nothing but loneliness.

She giggled softly pushing herself away from the desk. With a relaxed demeanor, the dragon approached him, a predatory smile sketched on her face. Anders remained still, waiting. Her hands hovered over his arms and shoulders, his skin breaking into goosebumps as his breath became fast and needed.

"Bragi warned me about your insecurities, but I still had faith in your rampant avidity. I knew that you wanted me and that, sooner or later, you'll come back to me."

"You don't like Bragi better then?" He whispered almost voiceless.

"That posh bastard? Not even as a meal."

"Good. That's good."

Her lips ghosted around his yet Anders did not break the distance, waiting patiently for her. He was the prey, in the end, he had to act like one.

"You smell very tempting today, Anders. Did you make an effort for me?"

"Yes."

To his truth, she moaned. "That's good."

Before he could rejoice in the praise, her lips captured Anders', and he resourced to full-on melt with it.

I'll answer under the cut just to prevent clogging other people's dashboards

1. Fav HCH character:

I also love very much Percy and Luna!!

When it comes to picking a fav I'm always indecisive because each media I like has me attaching to at least 3 of them (⁠●⁠_⁠_⁠●⁠) my top fav tho has to be Sapphia! loved her since the start she's just too iconic (and her backstory is actually so sad that's why I grew attached to her)

(and I'll add again that my user on here was sapphialuvr before I came back a year later and was mad indecisive between tiffaluvr or ryuuluvr but tiffa sounded better)

2. Fav panel/screen of said character:

Nice question because there's some screens where they're together!

One of them is the one where Marla sneaks out with Sapphia but nobody (minus a few) knew it was her. So when Percy was on the tower, and she says "August says hi!", ofc he's confused

(the lil Percy is so silly like cmon 😭)

As for Luna (and Saph again) i was laughing SO HARD when she clashed at the wedding because her bestie had stolen her crush (which sounds like an average american rom-com), and when she was talking with Sapphia about this, girl had only one way to stop her:

3. Thoughts/Opinions on Nicolosi (negative/positive/neutral)

Definitely hated him at some point (or more than one) because of his behaviour at the party (?) (I forgot if it was a party that August organized but u get it), where Sapphia clearly acted out of impulse and then we all know what happened next.

Also in the backstory where he was super mean to her, ableist, hated her for being a lesbian and kept forcing himself to believe she was the villain!!! oh, and the desperate try to stop the wedding.

I have no idea if he's converting back to being good or something, since we can see him finally coming to his senses after the closet scene (percy in the closet and august confessing), I really hope tho!! would love to see a redemption arc

4. Any OCs/Theories/Headcanons

My biggest theory was the whole Lucas/Luna/Lucille thing (I had figured out Lucille was Lucas b4 the transition, and Luna was his sister). I had a whole document about it where I color picked stuff and helped with a few lines from diff chapters! Took it very seriously (⁠.⁠ ⁠❛⁠ ⁠ᴗ⁠ ⁠❛⁠.⁠) Canvas readers already knew, but for me (and anyone else) who started reading in 2022, clearly it was new stuff!! I remember sending the doc to a few friends and convincing them of the theory being real, it was fun ngl!!

Other than that, I don't have any particular headcanons, and no OCs (but would love to see if someone has any!)

Not the other two anons from before, but just to give my 2c: it's more like whatever the other characters do, keith reaps the benefits. It's very main character/side character npc behavior, when they really should all be equal.

We can take hunk and keith working together to free Hunk's family in season 7 as an example. The take away and the character development we got from that ordeal was "keith has come a long way emotionally" instead of anything to do with Hunk. Hunk and his family was just the vehicle to deliver the +10 charisma to Keith. Because ultimately, Hunk didn't gain/learn anything from it and it's never mentioned again.

Or Keith getting to kill Sendak instead of Shiro. We're once again left with this "lesson" of "keith is the strongest fighter and will protect Shiro" instead of Shiro getting closure and tying up his own loose ends.

And we're not going to even get into Lance...

I don't think any of us are blaming Keith- but the writers weren't shy about setting up this divide between Main Character Hero Keith and those other guys who does things for Keith's growth.

It's also the common take away from new watchers of this show, people who went in without fandom bias or influence: Keith is the one character they come out saying had the best development and the best stories and they will have walls of text about his character. The other paladins are really just a "who? uh (generic platitude about them existing)" deal.

As I said in a previous ask, I just don't see Keith this way.

I don't begrudge anyone who does, and I believe I can understand where you all are coming from with this viewpoint, but I just don't see it.

Of course it was clear in the later seasons that the other paladins/characters were pushed to the side (seriously was Coran even there?). That is just a fact.

But the way I see it, the only reason why anyone would think Keith got character development/better stories than the others in the later seasons was because he...did stuff.

It came across to me in a similar vein as when they wrote themselves into a corner - oh, look! All of a sudden Allura has the magic power to fix this! Woohoo!

I don't see this as Keith having any kind of character development. I see this as him just becoming the one who could suddenly do things.

"All your paladin equipment is being guarded? No worries, Keith can summon his bayard just by closing his eyes!"

"Need to add some drama? Let's separate Keith from the rest of the team. All the time. For...um...plot reasons."

However, this in no way equates to character development or stories. Because we were never told why he could do things. Or why he was continuously separated from the team.

It was all a just because.

And just because Keith was turned into the stereotype of a Main Character doesn't mean his character arc wasn't also forgotten. The only difference is that he did stuff. And things.

The later seasons weren't written to benefit any character imo. They were written to just get the show over with as quickly as possible. And the only reason I can think of that Keith was given stuff to do in those seasons was because the fandom collectively had the hots for him (seriously, he was shipped with literally everyone).

But, again, to be very clear - that has absolutely nothing to do with character development or even plot.

Anyways,since i found this blog,i have to say my perspective of jaedo has changed; mostly bc i used to be a dotae/taedo enthusiast,but some of the things i saw recently have made me question that. So i wanted to ask if there’s any timeline that you might’ve done in the past that could make me see things a little better,or,if you don’t mind,could you tell me more about the confession period? I’m really intrigued by that. Also if it’s not too much,I wanted to ask about the johndo fall out,do we know when it happened? From the recent content it seems as if they’re closer than ever,and I also think part of that is bc when Ty inevitably goes to military service it’s going to be quite hard on dy🥺,so he’s going to be relying on jn A LOT I feel like. Hi, welcome to the fandom.

I suggest you form your own opinion about the boys by watching official content (YT shows on NCT channels and appearences on programmes like Weekly Idol) rather then listening to the fans on twitter. I've noticed that even me, who is a very stubborn person, get my perception of idols changed due to influence of others (the annoyance from the stans is transferred by association on their bias). I have to do "reality check" and correct my view of an idol from time to time, get rid of the accumulated slime of prejudice.

I do have a post with a timeline of sorts, however, I won't be able to find it now. I'm certain JaeDo got together in Spring of 2018, probably in May. I strongly suspect Jaehyun confessed during the last days of 2016 and was initially rejected. I think it because Doyoung was in denial about his orientation and was spooked. He took half a year or so to think about the ordeal, then another half a year to weight in all the options, and a few months to become certain about his final decision and find the right moment for his own confession.

Jaehyun once said he is the type to tell his feelings straight out, to confess. He probably chose the end of 2016 because: a) Doyoung became a fixed part of 127, the future together in one unit was guaranteed, b) Jaehyun turned 20 (Korean age), he became an adult, so could demand to be treated as a grown up, seriously, and not as a child (you will see fans talking about Jae being the original nest baby, the first maknae, he was Do's cute dongsaeng), c) some Doyoung's actions/words could have made Jae be positive Do is also into boys.

I don't follow any Johnny or JohnDo accs, so I don't notice the changes as quickly as with JaeDo. It is mostly other fans who alert me about changes with other neos and I start paying close attention to see for myself if their suspicions are true. Doyoung had a fall out with both Ten and Johnny around NCT2020. We don't know the reason. I can't tell if it was a one big fight or things worsened over time. Johnny and Doyoung promoted in different teams, so didn't interact much. The tension became apparent during 2021 and 2022 lives and programmes. The way they interacted and reacted to each other changed, the comfortable easiness to their rapport dissapeared. Johnny succeded in making Doyoung forgive him by the end of 2022. Currently they are back to how they were in the past, they even do lives together.

Most neos fought at one point or another. Even TaeDo. Doyoung even consulted a manager what he should do about him not getting along with Tae, and got a reply "deal with it, you will work together anyway".

I don't think JohnDo has anything to do with Tae. Doyoung doesn't rely on Johnny emotionally the way you suggest. He is "the oldest brother" in the unit. JohnTaeDo never formed a close-knit trio of their own. It was always JohnTae/TaeDo/JohnDo. If anyone, I expect Do to rely on Haechan as support more in the upcoming years when he will be the leader of the unit.
