I just finished watching The Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix, and I have a theory that each of the main characters represents one of the seven deadly sins. Note: pretty much all of these characters embody several (or all) of these aspects, so this list shows the ones that come through most clearly to me.
Prospero (lust) - the sex club, the pleasure rooms, the image of him waking up amid half a dozen naked bodies? Yep.
Camille (pride) - she believed she knew everything, and she often did. She believed she was right so far as to infiltrate Vic's lab, wielding her family name and status to get past the security guard, and shove a camera in the faces of dangerously drugged chimps. She was so proud/full of herself that she didn't pay attention to the open cage, leading to her eventual death.
Napoleon (gluttony) - he is constantly high, gorging himself on drugs or video games or sex. This eventually leads to his downfall, as his pleasure seeking is consistently interrupted by the gory "gifts" from the cat.
Victorine (anger) - she often feels inferior to her siblings, trying so hard to win her father's approval. When her research doesn't pan out and her partner tries to leave, she flies into a rage and kills her. This anger seems to be bubbling below the surface for the whole series, it just comes to a head in the episode where she dies.
Tamerlane (envy) - her death is the evidence of this connection. She is convinced that her husband is seeing the other woman behind her back, so much so that she runs around the house smashing mirrors. In every mirror, she can see the object of her envy and herself, not measuring up. And it ends up killing her.
Frederick (sloth) - he basically does nothing for the first several episodes. His father asks him to do one simple task over and over, but he just doesn't do it. When he finally does get around to doing it, he dies unable to move due to the paralyzing agent he used to abuse his injured wife. Dying while lying completely still and unmoving sounds a lot like Sloth to me.
Madeleine/Roderick (greed) - Madeleine and Roderick Usher are together in this list because they are twins, often act as a unit/team, and (to me) they embody the same deadly sin. This whole show is about greed. These two want money, power, and freedom, and they are willing to do anything (ANYTHING) to get it. Look at the people they killed, either directly or indirectly. All of those deaths were self-serving to the Usher twins.

I've probably talked about this before, but this thought is even more solidified with Lucifer's behavior. But I adore how opposite the Deadly Sins are to their Sins:
Lucifer is meant to represent Pride, yet he has everything but that. He completely regrets giving people free will and is disgusted by his own subjects. Not to mention, he has depression and most definitely dislikes himself.
Asmodeus represents Lust, yet is in a romantic relationship with Fizzarolli. He also values consent and caring for your partner, considering Iglehart revealed that every partner shouldn't solely care for their partner on Valentine's. Also, he has Val's antennae in a vase, so he certainly does not care for abuse of any kind.
Beelzebub is supposed to be Gluttony, but her "lava lamp" stomach is constantly burning calories making her hungry. However, despite that, she makes sure her people are well-fed while making sure that they don't overindulge. This is backed by her bringing attention and concern to Blitzo getting too drunk at the party.
Belphagor works in Healthcare, which anyone would know is anything but Slothful. Essentially, she creates medications and hospitals so others can relax before her.
Judging by Wrath Imps, they're in charge of farming and providing food to Hell. That is a job that requires a lot of patience and care. Not only that, but Wrath Imps seem to reserve their anger only for when the time comes...or the festival lol. Satan, no doubt, is the same.
Mammon is greedy, don't get me wrong. However, he also still has to swindle and cheat to launch his projects. Hell, the man easily can make his own theme park, yet chooses to create a bootleg Loo Loo World. And it's an incredibly cheap-looking place, as well.
We haven't seen Envy yet, but judging by Glitz and Glam, it seems like the two are always performing. Even as their simply walking the carpet, they still are mirroring each other and posing. It's like their image and talent is more important than anything else. Plus, the stage ends up collapsing around them, and yet they are still more concerned whether they won Mammon's praise or not.
This is all so incredibly well thought out and makes what the Seven Virtues would be like

Limbus Company: Deep Analysis of Sin
So, I decided to take a deeper dive into the different sin types in Limbus Company.
The TLDR Version:
Wrath - Unable to accept something
Lust - Having a strong desire
Sloth - Losing sight
Gluttony - Satisfaction-seeking
Gloom - Controlled by pain
Pride - Contempt of others/selfishness
Envy - Desire to surpass
Regarding the sinners' skills, the sin position is important as well. A S1 sin is a surface-level appearance, but S3 represents something deep inside them.
The detailed explanations are under the cut!
Wrath
Wrath, on the surface level, can present as being irritable or hard to get along with.
Wrath S1 examples
LCB Ishmael, who seems irritable and nitpicky at first.
Seven Heathcliff "Why am I doing this stupid job?"
Hook Office Hong Lu "Don't speak so softly, I'll feel homicidal"
S2 gets closer to how they really feel. The feeling of wrath comes from the feeling of "I can't accept this" - whether it's how they're being treated, how their environment is, etc.
Wrath S2 examples
LCB Heathcliff (past speculation) - Discriminated, mistreated, resenting what's happening to him
LCB Sinclair (past) - I don't want to get prosthetics
W Corp Hong Lu - Bored with his job.
And S3 wrath represents a strong rejection - they won't accept Anything they deem contrary to their own beliefs and ideals. It is a violent refusal.
Wrath S3 examples
N corp identities who are brainwashed - Kill all the dissenters and heretics.
Pequod Ishmael - "It's MY way or the HIGHWAY, god damn it!" (Throws a fit if another ID kills an enemy)
R Corp Ishmael - Hates it to the point she's looking for Singularity information of old R corp
LCB Rodya - I can't accept this armchair revolution and endless poverty. I have to kill this old windbag.
Lust
Lust in this case is a pursuit of something non-physical - a relationship, an ideal, a core element of your self. On the surface level, this can present as really wanting to be something.
Lust S1 Examples
LCB Don Quixote - Wants to become a great Fixer.
W Corp Ryoshu - Wants to be a great artist.
Sous Chef Gregor - Wants to improve his cooking.
S2 is a little stronger than just normal desire. They will willingly hurt other people or trample them to achieve their goal.
Lust S2 Examples
Tingtang Gangleader Hong Lu - Uses violence and is callous to those invading his turf
The One Who Grips Faust - Massacres Sinclair's village to get what she wants
LCB Ryoshu - Her idea of beauty ties in with violence
S3 is a little different - It's desiring something so badly on an existential level. It's pretty much what they live for.
Lust S3 Examples
R.B. Chef Ryoshu - Needs to be one of the Eight. Will stop at nothing to achieve this.
N Corp Heathcliff - Not brainwashed, doesn't really want to be. Wants to preserve his "true self".
G Corp Gregor - After an irreversible transformation, fully believes his reason to exist is to be a killing machine.
Interestingly, both LCB Heathcliff and Hong Lu have a Lust S3.
Sloth
Sloth is inaction, watching from the sidelines, not seeing what is in front of you. This can start with just simply being misguided, believing something to be true when it's not.
Sloth S1 Examples
W Corp Don Quixote - "I am working at a Wing!! CHOO CHOO!! Sally forth!!"
LCB Outis - Her piss-poor act of blind acceptance and obedience.
LCB Meursault - It is simply none of my business if Sinclair hyperventilates and vomits on the floor.
S2 sloth is more purposeful, not taking action when one should or purposefully being ignorant of reality.
LCB Faust - Does not tell Dante and the others a lot of information and doesn't stop sinners from running amok.
LCB Hong Lu - Despite being perceptive, does not seem to register bad situations as bad or react to pain appropriately.
G Corp Gregor - This feels wrong but I'll just continue with it anyway.
S3 sloth is a total loss of vision, not being able to see what's important to them. Losing sight of all they used to desire, and doing nothing about it.
Dieci IDs - Lost their memory and doesn't even remember what was most important to them.
K Corp Hong Lu - Doesn't seem to mind his total loss of freedom and autonomy, despite desiring freedom in other IDs.
LCB Yi Sang - Could not care about anything he once loved or aspired to be, until he was able to gain his wings once more.
Blade Lineage Don Quixote - Once used her strength to fight alongside her comrades, but now kills for purely her own sake.
Gluttony
Gluttony is a desire to be satisfied, whether it's something material or psychological. This can present like greed or selfishness at first sight.
S1 Gluttony Examples
LCB Rodya - "I want meat, I want money, I want to gamble!"
LCB Ryoshu - "Let me smoke. Let me do as I please."
Lantern EGO Don Quixote - Curious about the abnormalities and wanting to know more about them
S2 Gluttony is wanting more at a crucial point in their life, or desiring more than they could chew. It could also mean getting hooked into something or addicted.
S2 Gluttony Examples
LCB Ishmael - "I quit my job, I need something that's not labour hellscape... Hm? That hag can sure talk..."
R Corp Heathcliff - Began deriving enjoyment from killing
N Corp Don Quixote - Didn't even need the brainwashing, got hooked onto the N Corp ideology herself
S3 Gluttony seems to be the final stage of seeking what they desire - being satisfied, even when they shouldn't be.
S3 Gluttony Examples
Tingtang Gangleader Hong Lu - Seems completely happy and enjoying himself
Seven Heathcliff - Actually learned to like his job
W Corp Hong Lu - Doesn't want praise or a raise, just fine with how things are now
Gloom
Gloom represents pain, and how it affects how the person treats their situation or other people. On the surface level, they may appear melancholic or having given up.
S1 Gloom Examples
LCB Yi Sang, LCB Gregor - Self explanatory.
Rosespanner Meursault - Crushed by work
R Corp Ishmael - Headache, pain, does not like it here
S2 Gloom is a moment of despair, when something in their heart was broken. This may also involve guilt and inflicting pain.
W Corp Don Quixote and most W Corp IDs (Except Hong Lu and Ryoshu) - The shocking reveal of what W Corp really is.
N Corp Heathcliff - "What the hell am I even doing??"
Lobotomy EGO Heathcliff - "All my friends are dead."
S3 Gloom can represent letting their pain affect how they treat others. Lashing out, being insensitive to others' pain, or simply giving up and accepting the hurt as inescapable.
W Corp Yi Sang - Abandoned hopes for freedom, just wants it to hurt a little less
G Corp Outis - Knows she cannot escape the unfair treatment
LCB Ishmael - Lashes out and hurts others because she is deeply hurting, making it more painful for her too
Pride
Pride is the belief that they are different from other people, and so the rules don't apply to them. This can seem as arrogance at first, even if they are not actually like that.
S1 Pride Examples
LCB Sinclair - Rich boy 1
LCB Hong Lu - Rich boy 2
LCB Faust - Doesn't hide that she thinks she's better than everyone else
S2 Pride can contain disdain for other people, and believing they are better than those around them. Therefore, their actions can be excused in their eyes.
S2 Pride Examples
LCB Meursault and LCB Outis - Competent and they know it themselves. Outis thinks of her comrades as dirt and points and laughs when they die.
W Corp Ryoshu - Her art comes from chopping up the dead and deformed passengers, doesn't give a single shit about them
LCB Rodya - Believed she was special enough to make a difference and split the hag's skull.
S3 pride goes a step further - their own desires take precedence over anyone else's. They may even see other people's lives as literally the same as a blade of grass. If they want something, they'll trample everything and anything.
S3 Pride Examples
The One Who Grips Faust - Probably doesn't even give a shit about the grand ideology or her minions. Just did it because she could, and wanted to.
The Middle Little Sister Don Quixote - "I can kill anyone who disrespected my organization!"
LCB Ryoshu - Has the littlest regard for human life.
Envy
Envy can start out with the simple desire to surpass someone, to become better than others. To want more than what other people have.
S1 Envy Examples
Tingtang Gangleader Hong Lu - Began wanting to be stronger, to have more power.
LCB Heathcliff - Rich bastards are annoying, they don't deserve it more than I do
Shi Ishmael - Just wants to survive in a world of dog eat dog
S2 envy is the need to be better than what you once were, to surpass yourself and get something accomplished.
S2 Envy Examples
LCB Yi Sang - Bettered his own craft and created the mirror.
Pequod Members - Lay their past self to rest, and opted to hunt the whale.
R.B. Chef Ryoshu - Wants to make better and better pies
S3 Envy is the result of their desire to surpass - or that they have accomplished something, but with a heavy price.
S3 Envy Examples
W Corp Ryoshu - Extremely powerful, but her sword will suck up her health if she doesn't charge it properly.
R Corp Heathcliff - Gained insane power but lost something important to him in the process.
LCB Sinclair - Was able to avoid getting prosthetics but his whole family dead.
Pequod Heathcliff - Managed to get out of the Middle but is covered in scars he can't erase.
I will continue to write more specific theories, but this is how I feel about the sin affinities right now! I'd love to write about EGO and enemies as well soon.

I saw someone suggest the idea that the Ushers all represent a deadly sin - here is which I think they are and why
Prospero - Lust
Camille - wrath
Leo - gluttony
Vic - sloth
Tamerlane - pride
Fred - envy
The Twins (Roderick and Madeline) - greed
Prospero is Lust, not only because of his hedonism but his unabashed Lust for power - he is filming his anonymous orgy so he can blackmail powerful people and dies in the midst of his orgy - but I could also see him as sloth (wouldn’t come up with a proper business proposal, didn’t bother to check that the tanks held water not acid)
Camille is Wrath, she approaches everything - her siblings, her job, her assistants/lovers and verna in the end with rage - and she gets killed by an angry animal
Leo is Gluttony - he indulges himself in abundant drugs and abundant sexual partners, despite having a relatively good situation - he has a successful career that doesn’t put him directly under his fathers control, he has a committed caring partner but still he gluts himself on everything that comes his way, he dies chasing a cat that hunts far more than it needs too
Victorine is Sloth - she doesn’t want to put in the work needed too make her device work, she just takes shortcuts to make it seem like it is working, she kills her partner in part because her partner who is actually the skilled surgeon doesn’t want to do the work anymore (admittedly this one I’m not as sure on - she might be pride, refusing to admit her device doesn’t work out of fear of failure)
Tamerlane is Pride - Of all her siblings she is the most proud of being an usher, and the most obsessed with her own image, obsessed with beauty, obsessed with being a success, she will not take anyone’s advice not even her husbands, she is proud and controlling in her relationship forcing her husband to go along with her voyeuristic kink when he doesn’t want too. This is a double-edged sword as she is also deeply insecure, outsourcing intimacy and dying as a result of smashing mirrors attempting to prevent Verna taking her place (alternatively she could be envy - envious of Verna etc.)
Fred is Envy - he is envious of his father and his effortless command presence and his fathers success, and he is envious of his wife, punishing her horrifically purely because he believes she cheated on him, (even though she didn’t, all she did was think about it and go to a party where she was alone) he is so envious that he even makes an attempted coup against his father. (He could also be gluttony - his drugs, and dying because putting more and more nightshade in his coke)
Finally the Twins - Roderick and Madeline are Greed - They set everything in motion because they both always wanted more, more money, more recognition, more power, even immortality - through AI in Madeline’s case and in the creation of a bloodline legacy in Roderick’s
I also have one thing to add I think that Lenore (and Annabel Lee and Juno and Morella - Lenore’s mom) represent the seven capital virtues: these are chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness and humility.
Chasity - Lenore dies before she ever has a relationship, she is in gothic story terms a chaste innocent
Temperance - Lenore seems disgusted by her dad having done drugs (also Juno is Temperance, her wisdom in coming to her own conclusion to wean herself off Ligodine)
Charity - As Verna says the charity her mom starts is a result of Lenore saving her mom (also Juno and Morella donating to charity)
Diligence - Lenore sticks to what is right even when it’s hard, giving a statement to the police about her dad, caring for her grandfather, searching for treatment options for her mom (also Juno diligently weaning herself of drugs, Morella’s charity work, Annabel Lee caring for her children)
Patience - Lenore patiently encourages her family to do better and be better
Kindness - Lenore saves her mother, and creates a ripple effect that saves millions of lives (Annabel Lee being kind to everyone)
Humility - Lenore thinks that losing their fortune and company could be a good thing that leads to a moral good for her family

Hello!! what are the other ancients dynamics with their respective beasts like? Are they also learning to get along or is that unique to SM and PV?
Hi, thank you so much for the ask!! Since we don't know much at all about the other Beasts, it's hard to determine what their relationships with the other Ancients would be like. However, there're some light predictions that can be made!
- Hollyberry cookie, holder of the Light of Passion, is likely trying to befriend Eternal Sugar cookie, but Eternal Sugar goads her into giving in to her indulgences such as berry juice, hoping to get Holly to turn to Sloth as well. After all, they both represent Happiness. Hollyberry honestly believes she can turn the other back, however, an admirable belief that Pure Vanilla picked up on when deciding how to treat Shadow Milk cookie.
- Mystic Flour cookie and Dark Cacao both respresent Volition- however, due to Mystic Flour's apathetic disposition, the two clash very often, and they're very against any change or compromise. Dark Cacao sees Mystic Flour's apathy as an inherent betrayal of the kingdom's subjects and refuses to listen.
- Burning Spice cookie and Golden Cheese would likely see eye to eye at first, both being super driven and representative of Change. However, Golden Cheese is driven to Abundance, desiring only the best for themselves and others, but Burning Spice only wants to destroy and raze. They would likely get into arguments often, only working together in desperation.
- White Lily has the most complicated and unpleasant lot of the bunch, unfortunately. She not only has to contain Silent Salt cookie, but she has also been reunited with her other Self steeped in destruction, Dark Enchantress cookie. Due to her multiple bad experiences with corrupted reflections of herself, she's the most resistant to any sort of idea of redemption for the Beasts than the other Ancients. Thankfully, she's also the least likely to be corrupted- Dark Enchantress is incapable of using the Light of Freedom, and Silent Salt has taken to, well... Silently brooding and ominously watching over things, for the most part. While all three fall under the overarching virtue of Change, she's the most resistant to a different mindset. White Lily is rather fearful of any corruption happening again, which is why she's also rather scared & resistant to Pure Vanilla's comparatively casual relationship with Shadow Milk cookie. Even seeing him simply humoring him terrifies her; she cares deeply about him and doesn't want him to be harmed by the other's lies, an understandable position considering everything.

The Fall of House Of Usher brainrot
Idk if I’m delusional but do we think the Usher Children / Rodrick and Madeline represented the 7 deadly sins?
1- Lust: Perry
Perry literally died in secret sex club
2- Gluttony: Frogdrick
Frogrick was doing heeps of cocaine, which led him to his own downfall (you could argue Leo but this was a new overconsumption for little Froggy)
3- Greed: Rodrick/Madeline
The og siblings literally sold their “soul” to Verna FULLY knowing it would kill all of their family members! They sacrificed everything to be rich.
4- Sloth: Leo
A few of his siblings and his dad even claimed he didn’t “work” he only paid people to make video games for him. He didn’t work and literally got killed by a “domestic” cat, he should have left the house lol
5- Wrath: Camille
Camille was so convinced the traitor was Vic. Also, she was so angry against her assistants and the possibility of making Vic the bad guy it literally got her killed!
6- Envy: Vic
This one is a bit trickier but I do believe we saw her envy after the first funeral when she confronted Tammy and Frogrick about how she was always treated differently because she was a “bastard” child. How she always needed to prove herself more.
I also think she was a bit envious of her girlfriend because all of this was her research and not Vic’s. She didn’t have the full power of the experiment, only a passenger on the ride. That’s why she fully disassociated and did the heart transplant herself.
7- Pride: Tammy
Tammy thought she could do everything by herself. We saw this especially with her husband, she said she didn’t need him and thought she was better than him. We also see this with her view on the other siblings and her step mother, June. She thinks she is better than all of them and treats them as less. She even got killed by mirrors because of her excessive view of herself!

How does the Ministry function? Headcanon
Despite what it would seem, the Clergy's ruler is not actually the current Papa, which can be easily seen in the Chapters, where everything seems to be much more under Sister Imperator's control. However, even she seems to be under someone's supervision, aside from Satan himself. How does it all work, then?
Satan
Not much to be added here. Obviously, the person on the very top of the Clergy is going to be the Dark Lord. However, since unlike some deities he actually believes in free will, he doesn't really intervene much,
The Council of Seven Deadly Sins
The ones actually in charge. The Council, as the name shows, consists of seven members, each representing a sin. They are all in some way supernatural beings and have been granted immortality to guide the Clergy, however it is not impossible for the members to change. If one is somehow overpowered and killed, the person who defeated them gets their spot. It is unknown who is the most powerful member of the Council, therefore they do not have an official leader. Instead, they draw lots on who is in charge of their next meeting.
The Council of Seven Deadly Sins consists of:
Superbia (Pride) - The Director
Avaritia (Greed) - Representative currently unknown
Luxuria (Lust) - Representative currently unknown
Invidia (Envy) - Representative currently unknown
Gula (Gluttony) - Representative currently unknown
Ira (Wrath) - Mister Saltarian
Acedia (Sloth) - Representative currently unknown
Due to the fact that they obviously must attend to very many things at once, only one of them (The Director) is actually in the Ministry th entire time. The rest visit when they feel like and for official meetings.
Does Sister Imperator not being here confuse you? That's because she fits in the next category.
The Assistants of The Council
As of now, the only known member of this group is Sister Imperator, who serves as the Assistant of The Director. However, due to how her boss is, she is the one running the Ministry most of the time. Something that she was prepared to since she was a child.
For reasons known only to himself, mister Saltarian does not have an assistant right now and has not had one for almost a century.
The Papa
While the Papa holds a lot of power when it comes to Siblings of Sin, in reality he is completely powerless in the end, as any of the Council members of Assistants of the Council can easily veto Papa's decisions. In reality, the role of a Papa is much more representative than anything. They do, however, have a lot of paperwork to keep up with. So sadly, while the title is a great honor, it actually comes with much less power than one would think.
If for whatever reason there's more than one Papa at a time (for example, one of them is too old to function on his own, but he's not willing to retire (like Papa Nihil), another Papa can be chosen to function alongside him. In this case, the older Papa is mostly in charge of the more mundane tasks while the younger Papa takes on the more "important" aspects of the job. There can be up to two Papas at once, however one of them must be "retired" in theory.
A Papa can serve his duties alone until he reaches 80 years of age, however they can resign at any point (or can be forced to do so). He does keep the title, but it is mostly an honorific. A retired Papa is not forced to work, but they can choose to. If a Papa chooses to keep working after his 80th birthday, he will be forced to accept a second Papa to work alongside him.
The Cardinals
Unlike in the Catholic church, in the Clergy a Cardinal is not just a fancier Bishop, it's a fully functional, separate role. The Papa can have up to twelve Cardinals (which have to be accepted by at least one of the Council members) to serve as his own assistants and advisors. Not to be confused with a Papa's personal assistant, which is a completely different function.
The Cardinals also help manage the Ministry while the Papa is away. They are also temporarily in charge (still below the Council, of course) if something happens to their Papa and the new one is not yet chosen.
All heirs of the current Papa have to become a cardinal when they reach the age of 30, however due to the bloodline, they can, if they so wish, skip all the way from Deacon to a Cardinal, seeing as their education for their role begins way earlier. A younger sibling also counts as an heir. (So for example, Terzo has been a Cardinal to his father and both of his brothers.)
If a Papa dies without leaving an heir, the next Papa is chosen by the Council from his Cardinals.
Whenever a new Papa is chosen, he is given a choice to either keep the Cardinals of the previous one, or he can select a new bunch. Cardinals forced into retiring are given the title of an Archbishop.
The Archbishops
Despite how fancy the title sounds, it's just that. A title. The Archbishops get a fancier outfit, yes, but that's about it. They have the same responsibilities as regular bishops. The Archbishop title is mostly a way to show respect to them for their service, as it is given almost exclusively to former Cardinals and very few Siblings that have done something extraordinary to earn the title.
The Bishops
In the clergy, the role of a Bishop is not as fancy as it is in the catholic church. It can be summarized to a priest with more experience. A Bishop's role is mostly to educate Deacons and help younger Priests while doing the work they did as Priests. Of course, they get more paperwork than regular Priests. It takes 10-15 years for a priest to become a Bishop.
The Priests
Their role is similar to the catholic priests, except satanic, of course. There really isn't much to say here.
The Deacons
The lowest on the "Priest path" of the Ministry. The students. The ones who aren't Priests yet, but they wish to become them. One must be a Deacon for five years to become a priest. The earliest one can become a Deacon is 16 years old. An exception to that is an heir to the Papacy, who becomes a Deacon at age 13.
The Siblings of Sin
Despite theoretically being the lowest in hierarchy among the humans of the Ministry, they can be found all over the positions of power which are not directly related to religion itself. For the Clergy, anyone who has been baptized is a Sibling of Sin. They are under no obligation to become Priests or climb the ladder. Siblings of Sin are simply members of the Clergy, no matter what their exact function is. Can one Sibling of Sin have some level of control above others? Yes, absolutely, due to their administrative function or other things like that. In the Church's ranks, however, they are even.
The Nameless Ghouls
Despite me putting them at the bottom here, the Ghouls do not actually have a fixed position in the hierarchy of the Ministry. They are summoned with a specific purpose and/or to serve a specific person. Unless that person passes a contract made with a Ghoul to someone else, the Ghoul only serves their summoner at first. In most cases, however, the Summoners and Ghouls get attached to each other and Ghouls are granted freedom. While they still usually work under their Summoner, just with much more possibilities. The Ghouls respond to their Summoners almost exclusively. The Ghouls have their own hierarchies, but that's for another post, I guess.

About Cazador's Ritual
I got a little theory about Cazador's Ascension ritual. Before I start, I do apologize if this theory was spoken of before. I honestly didn't see any, so these are my own words and thoughts.
Anyways, there were things about the ritual that didn't sit well with me. That things didn't really add up. One of those things is why Cazador couldn't just nab another poor soul to take Astarion's place. And we see that it would work because if you Ascend Astarion, Cazador takes his place. So it got me thinking why Cazador needed Astarion and the 6 others to make the ritual work. What was so special about them?
It then hit me. Astarion plus 6 is 7. Seven unique spawn that Cazador needed to use and to gather the poor souls for a ritual created by Mephistopheles. The seven had to mean something significant to a ritual made by a demon. 7 deadly sins.
Astarion said he was one of the first. And what's the first Sin? Pride. Was one of the main reasons why Astarion was picked by Cazador was his very prideful nature? It makes a lot of sense when you look at Pale Petras. How he almost comically tries to imitate Astarion. He's Envy. Dalyria might be Sloth because she is quick to wanting to retreat and finish things. And cowardly perhaps.
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. How Cazador was obsessed with Astarion. Because he too was prideful, if not more. And this is why he couldn't just find an easy replacement, he needed to fine the perfect person who was just as prideful as Astarion. And this is why the ritual still worked if you Ascend Astarion, because Cazador also represented Pride.
So Pride was Cazador's downfall. Quite literally.

Limbus Company theory
Okay, I have absolutely no idea if anyone's noted this yet. Did anyone pick up that the Sinners are held down by a Sin, represented in their EGO, and their Canto are about their struggles against another sin entirely. The branch creates a space for 'penance'. When Rodya entered the field of effect of the branch, Baba Yaga went crazy, freezing the entire mine. There's clearly some paralleling at work here.
So let's go through.
Gregor, Canto 1: Sloth V Gluttony (survival); note that this expedition failed, and we later explore Sloth with Yi Sang
Rodion, Canto 2: Pride V Gloom; note that Rodya refused to actualize
Sinclair, Canto 3: Gluttony (Greed) V Lust
Yi Sang, Canto 4: Sloth V Gluttony (greed); Dante's resonance begins
Ishmael, Canto 5: Gloom V Envy; Dante's resonance progresses
When we look at the dominant sins of the remainder...
Heathcliff, Canto 6: Envy...
Don Quixote, Canto 7: Lust…
Hong Lu, Canto 8: Gloom…
Ryoshu, Canto 9: Wrath…
Meursault, Canto 10: Pride…
Outis, Canto 11: Pride…
Faust, Canto 12: Pride…
Dante, Canto ?: ????
Sins not confronted yet: Sloth, Pride, Wrath
Sinner sins left to explore: Envy, Wrath, Lust (If we're talking strictly what progressed Dante's clock, Gluttony & Pride)
Assuming Dante's doomsday clock setting is moving in 5 minute intervals, Dante currently has 2 positions left on their clock; 5 minutes to midnight and midnight itself. It's made almost explicit that their resonance with sinners is the tool with which they resonate with the branches. By obtaining each sin, they're building to some sort of complete whole.
Predictions based on this theory; Pride being so back-heavy probably means we're going to scramble for branches with Hermann. It gives the impression that for whatever reason Pride is necessary, which is interesting.
My own theory: Rodya says she'll settle in the cold [Gloom] for a little longer, and Sonya says she doesn't have the mark. I'd say this might mean Rodya hasn't sufficiently resonated. Sonya may have tried to bait her in hopes of getting better results in this regard.
This may mean ...
The last few Cantos will be a losing streak (LOL)
Someone who hasn't cleansed themselves of their opposing sin/formed the mark of cain will get the branch; I'd imagine this person shares sins with Dante, Vergilius, or Charon, who I believe are probably Envy, Wrath, and Lust respectively (OOP @ WHO WE'RE MISSING ⬆️)
In that respect Vergilius V Sloth, Charon V Pride, Dante V Wrath. I even think the wrath Dante is opposed to could be Vergilius
Very notable there's only 3 sins missing; it could be possible we already have Dante's branch; they were very obviously part of the group of Cain Marked, and again, their clock started at 25-to-midnight and just kind of sat there for a little while. It's also possible it didn't move until Yi Sang because their sin was Gluttony (ambiguous manifestation)? If Hermann also represents Lust ..... Think about it
Rodya's refusal of the call of Cain might become plot-relevant, just as our failure to observe what happened to Gregor on the myth arc timeline of 3 years ago and relationship with the Big Bad makes it obvious he's going to be a core character in the future. We can tell based on those who have the mark of Cain that he just doesn't have the chops, so mayhaps their mutual exclusion will be a surprise tool that will help us later.
And of course, my theories for the sins that weigh down our remaining Sinners: Heathcliff V Sloth, Don Quixote V Wrath, and Ryoshu V Pride. I predict all the Prides share Rodya's opposing force, which is Gloom; we see this in the books these characters are based on, with Meursault's despair of being sentenced to death being overcome by his Pride, Outis putting herself through grueling trials for the sake of returning to her family, and Faust beginning with suicidal depression leading to her pride creating(summoning) Mephistopheles.
I think it would be pretty funny if Dante was Gretchen's evil baby. Or that Gretchen might have been their previous self, manipulated into giving birth to Dante (extremely vulnerable and exploitable state), which they will be disgusted by and put to death. How many representations of the Divine Feminine in classic literature can Dante represent any% speedrun

Second part of the giga-ask compilation!
@publicuniversalworstie asked: Why assume the Horrorterrors would know that changing events would create a doomed timeline? That assumes both A) that the horrorterrors know the future and B) that they don't think it can really be changed. Maybe they genuinely thought they could change things, such as by perhaps fulfilling all the requisite loops a different way? Imagine a scenario where a time traveler learns of their death, therefore being destined to die, and instead fake their death to create the conditions under which they learned of the death originally.
It's possible. But if the Horrorterrors do have a way to trick the Alpha Timeline like that, then they've really been holding out on us by not mentioning it to the Players. Such a revelation would completely change the game - we might even be able to fake the Earth's death.
Anonymous asked: i want to learn more about coding to analyze homestuck better - do you have a place i could start? resources? idk love the liveblog hope you're doin well :]
Absolutely! I've got two separate answers for you, depending on what your goal is here.
If your main goal is just to analyse Homestuck, then you’re probably best off picking a language whose syntax is easy to understand, such as Python. You'll pick up on the basic logic pretty quickly, and the ~ATH snippets will start to make a lot more sense.
If you’re actually interested in programming for its own sake, then I recommend you start with my own first language, C. It’s a lot harder for a newbie to get to grips with, but doing so will give you a much more solid theoretical foundation then ostensibly ‘easier’ languages.
W3schools is a decent starting resource for both languages - but if you need more specific guidance, let me know, and I'd be happy to help!
@skelekingfeddy asked: actually grubmom having the same color wires as in that pic of sahlee wasnt intentional! i based it on how sollux’s game grubs have red and blue wires attached to them
Serendipity!
Anonymous asked: Did you run any mysterious ~ath programs on that computer of yours?
Honestly, running ATH on that thing would probably have improved it.
Anonymous asked: One voice headcanon I have for Terezi is the English dub of Power from Chainsaw man
Honestly, she sounds pretty much exactly how I imagine Terezi does. She even has the horns!
@martinkhall asked: I'm surprised none of the suggested instruments for a time player were an ocarina.
Some fruit is just too low-hanging.
@delicate-ruins asked: what's an animal you like that you think doesn't show up very much in media, be it fiction or news or just generally? example: i like secretary birds. but except for videos about them, i have never heard them references.
Tumblr media
They're not obscure, per se, but there will never be enough sloths in media. The only fictional sloth of note is Sid from Ice Age – and he does not do them justice.
Tumblr media
Capybaras are also underrated as hell – so much so that LibreOffice, which I'm using to edit this compilation, doesn’t even recognize the word as real!
Anonymous asked: “I’m trying to figure out if it’s fully a Breath outfit, or if there’s some Heir stuff too.” the general rule for god tier outfits is that the colors and symbol represent the aspect, the clothes represent the class. so, for example, if two princes of different aspects ascended, their clothing style would be the same but they would a have different color scheme. @skaiandestiny asked: If you haven't already figured it out, class informs the godtier outfit and aspect informs the colors and icon!
Tumblr media
In that case, there is something about John’s outfit that says ‘heir’ – but nothing really stands out to me.
@driventopoison asked: Hey, I don't know if it's just me but it seems like you've skipped ahead. I have been following your liveblog daily, but I haven't seen you come across the windy thing yet. Is this because you were using the app or something? Also just want to let you know that I love your liveblog. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Anyway, John’s Windy Thing is indeed documented on the liveblog, and it’s visible to me. I was using the app for some of that segment, though – are app-made posts particularly buggy?
@classpecting-guide-official asked: story about a modded game of sburb where the characters notice that something isn't right and slowly realize that their world is a lie
Back in Act 1, this is pretty much what I thought was happening. It was a simpler time.
@ignis-cain asked: Note the colors the capslock flashes for WV.
Tumblr media
When WV locks his capsule, the button’s light flashes red and green – but I’m not sure what the significance of these colors is, in this situation.
Anonymous asked: i know i'm SUPER late to answer this, but i think the instantiation thing is the same as any video game, newly made with a prebaked history. when you name your character, that has been their name for their whole life, even though you thought it up a few seconds ago. when you enter the medium, the planet has a history and the denizens have memories, even though they just showed up when you entered.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is indeed what’s going on. The implications are just a lot more wild when the game is physically real, rather than virtual!
@kintatsu asked: So, I know I'm a little late to the party, but I have to point out: Alternian sunlight doesn't need to be THAT much stronger than Earth's to blind Terezi as quickly as it did. Trolls are nocturnal, which means they almost definitely have a tapetum lucidum (eyeshine membrane), which means that however much light entered Terezi's eyeballs? Her retinas were blasted by every photon twice.
Tumblr media
Damn, Vriska. For a second, I thought this ask was explaining why Terezi wasn't in as much pain as I'd thought - but this alternate explanation might actually be worse than what I was picturing!
@delicate-ruins asked: It's delightful to see somebody read Homestuck and be as charmed by it as I and a lot of my friends were way back when we first read it, and the calm, digesting pace at which you're enjoying it is honestly so nice. I rushed way too much to catch up since my friends recommended it in about 2016, which means I went from knowing nothing about the comic to being caught up on it in like a week. I never sat down with the ideas and thought "hey, does this mean XYZ?" because quite often I got the answer five seconds later as I rushed to catch up. But seeing you asking those questions is so so fun. Yeah, DOES it mean that?? Guess we'll find out! In the meantime, we get to guess, which means we basically get to have fun twice. It's reigniting my enjoyment of homestuck quite significantly, I think!
Thank you! It’s really nice to be able to engage in a dialogue about the comic through these asks, which is something that wouldn't be possible if I was speeding through it. As I always say, I'm here for a good time and a long time.
@manorinthewoods asked: Alright, here's another transtimeline fun fact. Each of the kids was supposed to have a Quest related to their associated material - John had a land covered in oil, Rose's ocean was polluted with chalk, the gears of LOHAC were gummed by amber, and LOFAF was in a nuclear winter. Ultimately, while the ocean of LOLAR is still chalky, nothing but John's oil made the cut. ~LOSS (16/5/23)
I think it was a good change, then. Not everything has to be a pattern, and Dave's two weird maybe-quests are a lot more unique and interesting than a generic 'materials quest'.
@captorations asked: oh hey, this walkaround! so funny story, i used to run a blog where i posted one of terezi’s canon appearances each day, in order. yes, i completed my task, and more besides. however! when i was wandering through this as terezi, a glitch rendered me trapped. i decided that this counted as a noteworthy appearance, and took a screenshot. then, by sheer coincidence, it ended up being posted on… halloween. it was pretty great (also don’t forget to check out ctrl + t)
You accessed the double-secret version of Past Karkat: Wake Up, which plays the Earthbound Halloween Hack version of Megalovania rather than the Homestuck one.
Anonymous asked: Personally, I think John gaining so many levels so quickly is tied to his role as the heir - he gains so many levels without really trying, not because he's better than the trolls or his friends, but because he just kind of falls into it. The game rewards him for taking the path of least resistance.
That certainly makes sense if we just look at John - but I have trouble reconciling this interpretation with our other Heir. Equius certainly has some advantages, but they aren't exactly unique to him, as you'd expect them to be if his Heir class was responsible for them.
Yes, he's a highblood, but he's outranked by three non-Heirs - and his strength doesn't seem to be unique either, as Feferi seems capable of similar feats. Perhaps Equius will trip and fall into more unique privilege, but it hasn't happened yet.
Anonymous asked: my personal headcanons for midnight crew claspects: Slick - Prince of Blood, Droog - Mage of Space, Boxcars - Knight of Heart, Deuce - Bard of Doom. knowing you youre probably gonna attempt to analyse these LOL
Slick has had ties to Blood since he first met Karkat, so that tracks - and Boxcars is a shipper, so Nepeta's aspect is probably the best fit for now. I'm not sure about the other two, but I'll revisit them later!

Hello incubus, sucubbus and all the inferior
beings of hell .....
-Here I will post a little about the seven deadly sins, official designs of those that have already been shown in the series and my interpretation of the 3 sins that have not yet been shown, much of this information is not official and some may be changed over time
The sins:
•☆pride
•♤Wrath
•♧Gluttony
•$Greed
•♡Lust
•◇Envy
•□Sloth
So let's start
Tumblr media
Lucifer Morningstar 🍎👼
Prince and embodiment of pride
Mythology:
Lucifer[a] is one of several folklore figures associated with the planet Venus. The entity's name was later absorbed into Christianity as a name for the devil. Modern scholarship generally translates the term into the relevant biblical passage where the ancient Greek figure's name was historically used (Isaiah 14:12) as "morning star" or "bright one" rather than a proper name, Lucifer.[1]
As a name for the Devil in Christian theology, the most common meaning in English, "Lucifer" is the translation of the Hebrew word (הֵילֵל, hêlēl)[
Lore:
Lucifer is the king of all hell, being the representative of the ring of pride where he keeps his ducklings (the sinners) locked away, he is a circus master and the most powerful infernal understanding, being first in the hierarchy
the fallen angel who, because of his pride, fell from heaven
Tumblr media
Azazel "Satan" 👿
Prince and embodiment of wrath
mythology:
Azazel (in Hebrew: עזאזל)[a] is the name given to an angel, who would be charged with the task of raising human faults and enumerating them before the Divine Court, during the annual judgment of humanity.[1] He is, on the other hand, a mysterious figure, who appears three times in the Hebrew Bible
Azazel is also commonly known as the one responsible for the sin of Wrath among the Seven Princes of Hell (which correspond to the seven deadly sins).
in some interpretations azazel is related to satan but it depends on which mythological interpretation you want to follow
Lore:
azazel is the god of imps, being its creator, the absolute ruler of the entire ring of wrath, being its sheriff and warlord
He is responsible for the artillery and army of Hell, being the highest ranking general only below the Morningstar family.
Tumblr media
Queen Bee-Lzebub "bee" 🐝🦊
princess and embodiment of gluttony
Mythology:
Beelzebub (name derived from Baal Zebul or Baalzebub, also referred to as Belzebuth; in Hebrew: בַּעַל זְבוּב‎‎, Baʿal Zəvûv; in Arabic: بعل الذباب‎‎, Ba'al adh-dhabâb) is a deity in Philistine and Canaanite, formerly worshiped in Ekron, and later adopted by some Abrahamic religions as a great demon. The name Beelzebub is associated with the Canaanite god Baal
being confirmed in the series that she is associated with or is the demon Baal himself, as the Goetic symbol of invoking such a demon is seen in her mansion
Lore:
bee is the queen of the gluttony ring, she is responsible for the entire food chain in hell, having fast food services that take ultra-processed food to all hell, she dates a hellhound called vortex
bee likes to throw parties for the hellhounds and in them she satisfies their greedy needs and then apparently they produce her honey when they are satisfied(I hope the process is not similar to that of bees in real life )
Tumblr media
Mammon 🤡💰💲
prince and embodiment of greed
Mythology:
Mammon is a term, derived from the Bible, used to describe material wealth or greed, most often, but not always, personified as a deity. The word itself is a transliteration of the Hebrew word "Mammon" (מָמוֹן), which literally means "money". As a being, Mammon represents the third sin, Greed or Avarice, also the antichrist, devourer of souls, and one of the seven princes of Hell
Lore:
mammon is the greedy and absolute ruler of the greed ring, whose role is to manage the entire economy of hell ,He represents a jester and has apparently created some demons that follow the same jester theme.
I don't know what but there's something about this design that makes me love mammon
Tumblr media
King Asmodeus "ozzie" 🐓👑
prince and embodiment of lust
mythology:
Asmodeus (in Greek: Ασμοδαῖος) is a character from the second part of the Book of Tobit, described as a demon whose role is to hinder the consummation of the marriage of the character Sarah, daughter of Raguel
The figure of Asmodeus is linked to Avestic Ashmadaeva, the demon of wrath of Zoroastrianism, who personifies the main negative forces of Persian religion.[1]
In addition to being one of the 72 spirits of Solomon used in Goetia, Asmodeus holds the title of king and has 72 legions of inferior spirits, he is the 32nd spirit in Goetia.
lore:
asmdoeus is the ruler of the lust ring , being the "weakest" infernal prince (second crimson) ,his job is to create new ways of giving pleasure to his incubus and other inhabitants in hell, having factories to create sex toys, etc., he dates a little imp called fizzrolli
.
I made a small change to Asmodeus's legs because I didn't like the fact that they were so thin, please don't bother me
Tumblr media
Leviathan "Levy" 🐍🌊
prince and embodiment of envy
mythology:
Leviathan (Hebrew: לִוְיָתָן; roman: Livyatan, Liwyāṯān) is a fierce fish mentioned in the Tanakh, or Old Testament. It is a creature that, in some cases, can have a mythological or symbolic interpretation, depending on the context in which the word is used. It is usually described as having large proportions.
lore:
Leviathan is the supreme ruler of the ring of envy, I don't know for sure how the ring of envy itself would work but I believe it is a large ocean with cities in it
He is responsible for fashion and social networks in hell, having the function of dictating trends, thereby sowing envy and disagreement among lesser demons.
it has a smaller, more versatile form, which its symbol represents
This design is not official so don't bother me
Tumblr media
Belphegor "bell" 💊😴🐐
princess and embodiment of sloth
mythology:
Belfegor (Belphegor; "the lord of fire") is a Moabite deity venerated on Mount Fegor. In Christianity, he is considered the demon of laziness, discoveries, rot, inventions, creativity and cycles.
lore:
she is the dominant figure in the ring of laziness, owning several factories and laboratories to create medicines and drugs, her sin is followed when you fail to do something important so it takes you out of your comfort zone
an example of this is avoiding saving someone's life because it would hinder you
belphegor is a close friend of bee-lzebub but their relationship has not yet been shown in the series
This design is not official so don't bother me

Have you thought about furry designs for protocol characters yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts on what animals they might be, yours are always top tier (though I understand if you need more time to get vibes from everyone lol)
yes i have!! given we're so early on they're all subject to change (and i haven't chosen one for lena given we don't know anything about her Whole Deal yet) buuut
sam: common raccoon
he really strikes me as a cute, fluffy sort of mammal. i chose raccoon for their curiosity and intelligence, and tendency to get into places they maybe shouldn't be.
Tumblr media
alice: great blue heron
this is one of those "entirely vibes based" choices. she feels like a bird to me, and her shapes feel sharply-angled. great blue heron struck me, and i vibed with the design so much it cemented pretty quick.
Tumblr media
gwen: lesser sooty owl
given the bouchard connection, i wanted to make her a tytonid (tytonidae, the barn owl family, separate from all the other owls which are family strigidae) given elias is a western barn owl. i chose sooty owl specifically for visual/design reasons, since many tytonids just look.. almost exactly like western barn owls, and sooty owls are quite pretty.
Tumblr media
colin: northern pike
one thing you'll notice going through my furry choices is that, while i have a lot of lesser-represented taxa in furry aus like invertebrates, extinct animals, and strange birds, i don't have ANY fishes, at least not since switching martin back from being a nurse shark. that's sad. i wanted to choose at least one fish for the tmagp cast, and i think the northern pike, being a grumpy-looking, solitary animal worked well for colin. (also, i think a clearly carnivorous animal deadpan saying "i'm a vegetarian." is funny)
teddy: sloth bear
i just wanted to choose a fun bear for him. he's there for like three minutes. his name's teddy. Bear
celia: golden alpine salamander
for celia, i wanted to choose something that goes through a metamorphosis, as a reflection of her changing name/identity from getting her name stolen during the fearpocalypse. i chose a terrestrial salamander specifically due to the mythological connotations of salamanders being able to walk through flames unscathed, with her having escaped the apocalypse.

What was Napoleon Usher's fatal flaw? the Guilt and Gifts of the Wealthy
I've been sitting on this, but I've seen a few posts associating the Usher children to the seven deadly sins and I've seen him labeled as gluttonous or slothful, and while I see the reasoning I don't think either alone lines up.
So what was Napoleon "Leo" Usher representing?
Let's begin with his role in the Usher family. He was one of the "bastard children," a classic middle child mostly just minding his own. He doesn't have any extreme ambitions and doesn't really bother with the dynamics and drama beyond being there. He runs a video game design company, and seems to do so pretty well (or at least not notably badly or corruptly). In fact, in the first few episodes of The Fall of the House of Usher he's one of the most if not the most endearing and empathetic of the Ushers through his support and guidance of Prospero as Prospero tries to establish a position of his family. He is arguably also the most visibly upset by Prospero and Camille's deaths.
Now, he's obviously not all good. In the classic horror establishing of ones wrongs sequence, we see that he is hiding an affair from his boyfriend, Julius. A woman sleeps with him due to his fame, and he shoves her out on the balcony to keep her from view of Julius. He partakes in several types of drugs, and happily shares them with Prospero, Julius, and Camile. Still, infidelity and drug usage are certainly not great, but are they worth the vicious torment he undergoes? Are they worth the wrath of Verna, who we know only violently kills if she feels one deserves it due to their actions? Plenty of non-wealthy people have affairs and plenty of non-wealthy people use drugs.
Then, we see him violently kill his boyfriend's cat. Well, we don't see it actually. Instead, he wakes up from a drug trip and realizes the cat is stabbed to death in Julius's apartment, assumed to be by Leo's hands. This is striking; why not show Leo in a violent frenzy? Well, the violence is secondary. Instead, the show focuses on Leo frantically cleaning up the cat's body and the gory scene around it.
Leo quickly goes to a pet shelter, where he meets Verna. He wants to replace the cat with an identical cat. Immediately we're shown a darker version of Leo, we realize that he does not care about the cat and does not even seem to think that Julius would not be able to recognize a new cat from his old one. Moreover, he's covering up his crime further. He's hiding the violence. Then, he finds the identical cat. Verna insists the cat is reserved and cannot be purchased/adopted. But Leo insists, aggressively, offering to buy the cat at higher price and, when that doesn't work, by the whole shelter.
In this moment, he dooms himself to a brutal death, and solidifies himself as the flaw of hiding the problem with money. He is the most "normal, well-adjusted" Usher, but when push comes to shove and he fucks up instead of facing them like a real person he can make problems disappear with money.
But I want to go further.
Tumblr media
I want to talk about the cat in the walls.
Because although Leo makes his problem disappear with money, he's not the only one to do so. Camille uses her money and influence much more explicitly to spin the media in favor of the Ushers and hide the truth of the Usher's and Fortunado's wrongdoings. So why is he the one cursed into Poe's the Cat in the Walls?
Now, I have not read much Poe, but I know the Cat in the Wall tells the story of a man who kills his cat (also named Pluto like Julius's) when it bites him and is then haunted by an identical cat. The story is often considered a representation of guilt, and how it eats one up even if the evidence of the guilt's cause is hidden. The man in the original story kills his wife as well, and it ends with him hiding the wife in the wall. And in this we see why The Cat in the Wall is Leo's story: Leo's downfall is one of the guilt of the gifts of wealth.
Prior to Leo's death, he is tormented by the cat, who randomly attacks him and gives him "gifts" of dead animals. It is here we see the warped generosity of wealth, how it gives but in awful, gruesome ways. The fake Pluto gives him these animal corpses that Leo has to repeatedly clean up, echoing his initial cleanup of the original Pluto's corpse. More than that, the corpses resemble the mangled bodies of his own siblings: Camille and Prospero. Therefore, the gifted corpses can be said to represent Leo's own grief towards his siblings, whose deaths were both awfully violent and quickly swept under the rug. He's finally seeing the horror of wealth as a solution.
Re-framing Leo's initial wrongdoings under this lens, we see that the issue of infidelity is not the infidelity itself, but the wealth and fame that Leo clings to through his infidelity (i.e. sleeping with his "fans"). The issue of his drug use is not the drugs, but the fact that he uses expensive, designer drugs to repress his own emotions and reality instead of facing them.
As his grief and paranoia escalates, he becomes more and more physically harmed by the cat. These cat scratches are key not for the harm but for the infection. Leo's guilt is infecting him slowly, one cut at a time. One hidden mistake, one disappeared issue at a time. Camille was right that "Ushers don't make things" but Ushers also don't fix things. They just throw money at something until the problem disappears. Even if, as Leo realizes, that problem is one of their own.
This is perhaps best represented with Leo's final moments, when he grabs a hammer and begins destroying the walls of his home, shouting, "I can buy a new wall! I can buy a new loft! I can even get Hemsworth to send me a new hammer!" This is why Leo falls: because even though his distress and issues are a direct cause of his wealth, he's still trying to solve it with wealth. He's still viewing the wealth as a shield even when it's a knife. It is similar to how the photo of Verna changes: he sees a solution (a cat identical to Pluto) when the reality is a rat (resembling one of fake Pluto's corpse gifts).
Napoleon Usher was perhaps the most well-adjusted Usher, but that is his downfall. He wants to solve his problems and help his loved ones, but the shortcut money provides is too alluring. His residual humanity (his care for his siblings and Julius) cries out in him as he tries to cover it up with cash. The sound in the walls was not the cat, but his own conscience.

I just noticed that Charlie and Lucifer both have the same rainbow decoration thing. In the Sir Pentious episode, when Angel is showing that Sir Pentious put a camera in the book shelf, the decoration is on a side table. And then you can see one in Lucifer's workshop in the wall before he says "Take that depression!" Not a big thing, but kinda neat.
oh yeah! the rings of hell lamp
Tumblr media Tumblr media
at least I... think it's a lamp? I hope it's a lamp, it'd be a pretty cool lamp
Ye! makes sense to me that the king and princess of hell would have a "map" (so to speak) of hell. I assume rulers of countries have a map of their country somewhere, so logically rulers of hell would have their equivalent of it
Tumblr media
I believe the color represents the color of the sky from each ring. Pride ring is red, wrath is orange, gluttony is yellow, greed is green, Lust is blue, envy is purple and sloth is pink
Given that Charlie canonically has multiple overlords on her phone's contacts, it wouldn't surprise me if Lucifer has them too in addition to their little map of hell
Since you sent me this ask and I blew up on tumblr mainly cuz of my lucifer post let's make this cute and head canon that Lucifer gave Charlie his before getting a new one for himself. Maybe even in a moment of she showed slight interest in seeing it, and he just "Oh you like this?? Here you can have it! :D"
while we're here, while I was fishing for screenshots, I also saw this in Charlie's shelf
Tumblr media
I want to go out on a limb and guess map of heaven?
Tumblr media
I couldn't find a map of heaven in Lucifer's study tho, so (building from our shiny new head canon) either he gave the only one he had to Charlie and never bothered to get another one or he never had one to begin with and Charlie got it herself
you know what I did find in lucifer's office tho?
Tumblr media
sticky notes everywhere, idk if they're reminders or what but clearly dude's a mess GO TO THERAPY MY GUY

The Kingdom of Wishes- A “Wish” Rewrite
Chapter 8- They Know
Chapter 7
The sun rises upon the kingdom of Rosas.
We see the castle in all it’s magnitude glistening as the first rays of sunshine hit the top of the tower.
We then cut to a sleeping queen, wearing a white night gown made of silk. Her long brown hair spreads all over the pillow.
She moves her arms trying to reach for something next to her… But she doesn’t feel what she was looking for
She opens her eyes slowly, still trying to hug someone that isn’t there
Then she sits up upon realizing… She’s alone in bed.
“Oh my… This really must be serious” the queen says in a whisper to herself
She then hears something approaching the door
Footsteps, coming very quickly and loudly, like a horse running down the hall.
The queen just smiles as she gets up, knowing full well that is-
🚪 B L A M
“AMAYA, DARLING! I FOUND IT!!!”
Tumblr media
The king of Rosas barges through the door, kicking it with one foot.
He’s carrying a large book on his hand.
The queen just looks at her husband lovingly as he proceeds to babble incomprehensibly
“YOUWONTBELIEVEIT!THEBOOKWASLOCKEDBYAMAGICSEAL!THATOLDFOOLREALLYTHOUGHTHECOULDKEEPTHISAWAYFROMME”
He exclaims all that with the enthusiasm of a child on Christmas Eve while running across the large room to reach the bed.
It’s noticeable he’s much less put together than usual, his hair is messy and he has bags under his eyes, naturally because he barely even blinked for the past 8 hours.
He’s now right in front of Amaya opening the book to show her something
“TOOKMETHEWHOLENIGHTBUTIWASABLETOBREAKIT!NOWLISTENCLO-“
The queen gently places a hand on his face. Immediately he goes silent and melts into her touch.
“Shhh my sweet, calm yourself.” she caresses his cheek and as if by magic Magnifico is overtaken by the exhaustion and just falls on the bed next to them “Aww my handsome bookworm didn’t get any shuteye last night?” She coos
The man is now laying face first on the bed as he mumbles “I didn’t need… Sleep- I needed answers zzz” he falls asleep, the book now is just laying next to him like it’s nothing
“Hmm” the queen hums while she walks to a closet.
Upon opening it, there’s nothing out of the ordinary, just some lustrous royal gowns.
But then she pulls a hidden lever in the form of a candlestick on the wall, and the closet reveals a secret.
Shelves full of potion flasks of all colors and sizes.
(Ya know that scene from Emperor’s New Groove? Yeah it’s like that)
Tumblr media
The queen starts looking for an specific potion, she reads the flask labels out loud as she looks for it
“Let’s see… Voice remover- no- Frozen heart- no- Llama extract- why did I even make this? No… Aha there you are.” She says softly as she takes one of the potions “Waking potion”
(Wouldn’t it be funny if she accidentally mixed up the labels and gave him poison? I’d laugh.)
She walks back to her beloved husband and opens his mouth while petting his hair. She pours the potion in his mouth.
Magnifico’s eyes are shot open, no longer with bags under them. He sits up quickly and coughs while gasping for air.
“*COUGH* UGH- Tastes as bad as I remember” he says while wiping his mouth with his sleeve “I thought you were going to make them all strawberry flavored” the king wines like a spoiled kid to his wife
“Sure, let me know when you find out how to do that with a potion made of bat eyes, sloth nails and coffee” She stated sarcastically “Now, about your discoveries…” The queen glances at the book he brought in.
The book has a symbol of a intricately drawn star that looks like a compass, surrounded by drawings that represent the constellations.
“OH YES! Here, come come!”
(This is, in fact, a direct reference to that scene in Wish when Magnifico is already totally possessed by the evil magic book and is all excited to show Amaya his new powers, I thought that was cute.)
The king has a huge smile, eager to show his wife what he has found.
He uses his staff to make the book float and the pages quickly turn by themselves “You see dear, my ancestors studied all the ins and outs of wish magic, however, there was one thing that they never DARED to do... Though personally, I've always had an interest in trying for myself” he stops on a page showing a sorcerer stealing away the power of a person with shining gold hair, the person seems to be screaming in pain “To harness the power of A WISHING STAR” the king announces proudly with an evil grin
“… Hmm” The queen seems unimpressed “So the powerful being you were talking about just looks like this? A golden haired person?”
(Amaya is more sassy with her husband than usual because he didn’t sleep with her last night)
“That’s how they SHOW themselves when they come down here!” The king explained, still just as excited as he was before “Their golden bright hair is a defining trait. Yes, they may not look like much, but their power within is unfathomable.” He says with a dark chuckle.
The queen seems more interested now
“Well then, does the book say anything about how to track it down? How to capture it?”
“Sadly, there’s no way of tracking one… However, capturing it will be easy” he says, using his staff, he makes some green magic flow through his hands creating the imagery of a a star “Star’s magic is made out of pure goodness and light, it’s pathetic really, they can’t even hurt anyone.” The king chuckles at that while gazing at the little star he created with his magic “Their main weakness is dark magic, such as mine. So if I were to fight one-" He crushes the small star with his hand "I'd have the advantage.” The king has a smile full of malice
The queen on the other hand is looking at this through a more... Rational point of view, yes it's great that her husband can capture a star... But where's the use in that if they don't know where it is?
“So there’s a star disguised as a human wandering around the island, splendid, how are we supposed to find it?” She asks him, with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.
The king's smile disappears
“…Eeeeh” He takes some time to think “… Arresting all the blondes in the land would raise some eyebrows, wouldn’t it?”
“Yes, yes it would darling” Amaya nods
She loves this man, but he can be pretty dense sometimes.
“Oh well, we can start by finding out who summoned it in the first place” He turns the pages and it shows an illustration of someone wishing upon a star, and on the second page it shows the humanoid star coming down “Stars only come down when they’re wished upon by someone truly pure of heart… Now the question is… Who would wish upon a STAR in a kingdom that has a wish granting KING?” He ponders, sounding almost offended.
“A child wanting to get their wish granted earlier, no doubt… It’s not like anyone older than five would believe in such fantasies” the queen says dismissively as she walks to a mirror
“… Yes…” The king places a hand on his chin as he ponders “But then again… That girl from yesterday”
The queen turns to him with wide eyes "She wouldn’t dare... Would she? After we promised to grant her wish- Wait, did you even grant the wishes last night?!” She changes the subject mid sentence
Magnifico eyes widened… He didn’t even realize it before.
“… I forgot” he says in a sigh, placing a hand on the back of his neck
The queen is brushing her hair as she says
“Ha! Oh wonderful, now the little brat will go around spreading to her friends that we lied to her, so much for saving face I suppose” Her tone is condescending, she’s not sugarcoating her disappointment in him.
Magnifico’s eyebrows scrunched, he wasn't pleased with his wife’s tone at all
(OOOOH THEYRE FIGHTING!!! THE OLD MARRIED COUPLE IS FIGHTING YALL LETS GOOO)
“Well “sorry” if I got overzealous. I just thought gaining THE POWER OF A CELESTIAL BEING ON THE PALM OF OUR HANDS would be pretty great, “sweetie”" his sarcasm when saying “sorry” and “sweetie” is palpable. He’s now pacing around the room as he talks with her, sounding angrier with every word “I don't get why you're not as thrilled about this as I am. Can’t you see what this MEANS? With this power we won't have to pretend anymore, those worthless people won't have a choice but to adore us, we’ll be IMMORTAL, is this not what we’ve alway wanted?” He’s actually trying really hard to not raise his voice much, because he knows at this time of the day there’s already servants around the castle.
“Believe me, nothing would bring me more joy than that, but unlike you, I refrain from celebrating prematurely." She explains firmly and coldly. "So far, all you’ve told me is that we MIGHT gain more power IF we find this certain individual with golden hair.” She talks to him while looking at him through the reflection on the mirror, he gives her an frustrated look, but more so because he knows she’s right… As always.
She continues, still speaking eloquently:
“And it’s not like the answer to where this star is will come knocking through that door.”
*Knock knock*
They hear a knock on the door
They both turn to it
“Um- breakfast is served, your highnesses!”
It’s the voice of one of the maids
The royal couple stare at one another for a moment
The queen points at her own hair with an annoyed expression
Magnifico rolls his eyes as he moves his fingers, using his magic to braid Amaya’s hair while they both walk towards the door
“We'll discuss this later…” The king says stoically.
But as they walk his face softened and he tries to make amends “*sigh* I love you mi vida. You do have a point, I may not have any leads now, but rest assured I will find that star for us… Somehow” Magnifico says quietly so the maid outside doesn’t hear
The queen calms herself as she holds his hand “I love you most Magnus, and I don’t doubt you for a second... I just fear that in this search of power, you might get carried awa-“
When they’re close to the door they start hearing something coming from outside…
Whispering.
Two different female voices are talking
The royal pair stops as they try to listen closely
“I need to ask them-“
“Are you sure it’s a good idea to bother them about this?”
“Who else would know why Asha ran away crying like that?”
… Asha?…
They both exchange a serious glance and nod.
It's show time.
Magnifico opens the door quickly.
That startled the two women standing on the other side. One is Dahlia’s mom, Ms. Hayashi, we’ve seen her in chapter 2.
And the other is a woman wearing a royal maids outfit. She looks remarkably similar to Safi, with brown curly hair and a big nose like his.
The royal couple now stands on the other side of the door, both smiling at them kindly.
Magnifico begins the act:
“Good morning ladies, beautiful day isn’t it?” He says with his usual charismatic voice
“G-good morning, your grace” the maid that looks like Safi gives them a curtesy, and so does Dahlia’s mom, but she doesn’t say anything, it seems like she’s thinking on what to tell them.
“We couldn’t help but overhear you both whispering… Something about Asha? Would that be the same delightful girl we’ve met yesterday?” The queen asks with a gentle smile
“Ah- Yes, it's her, b-but It’s nothing for your majesty to worry about I’m sure she’s alright” The maid says
“We don’t know that, Mishel” Dahlia’s mom corrects her friend “Your majesty, forgive me for troubling you this early, but you see... Asha has been living with me and my family for the past few years after her grandfather’s passing, and last night after she talked with you both… She came out of the castle crying unconsolably, then she ran away.” the royal cook explains, desperate for some answers.
The smiles on their faces are gone
Internally, the cogs start turning in the king and queen’s heads, but on the outside, they look just as worried as the royal cook.
Amaya’s voice is filled of distress as she says “Oh my goodness, but she was just fine when we sent her off last night, what on earth could’ve upset the poor thing?” She looks at her husband with an scared expression
“I have no idea. We’d never want to cause her any pain…” the king adds with the innocence of a saint in his eyes while looking at the two women “Did she say anything before leaving? Anything at all?”
“Well… There was one thing but- I’m sure it was a misunderstanding” Dahlia's mom says
“Oh I’m sure it was.” Magnifico agrees with certainty “But any clue may help us understand what could’ve caused such reaction or where could she be, please, we'd never forgive ourselves if something happened to her.” he holds Dahlia’s mom’s hands
“… She said her wish would never be granted.”
And all the pieces clicked
In that moment both king Magnifico and queen Amable knew…
She knew.
That noise they heard last night, it wasn’t Bravo going crazy and attacking an armor…
It was the little brat snooping around
Of course they connected the dots that the girl heard them, learned all their secrets, ran away crying, and with no one else to turn to…
She wished upon a star.
They knew.
They were both thinking the same thing.
Their faces softened into calmer expressions, to soothe the worried servant.
"I see" Magnifico says calmly "I think we both know what might've caused her to become so emotive... Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention." He says giving the woman a sympathetic smile
"I'm sure she'll show up eventually, and once she does, we shall clear up the misunderstanding" The queen adds words of reassurance
"And if she doesn't show up till sunset, please do not hesitate to tell us. I can send the guards to look for her." The king says with a comforting voice
Dahlia's mother looks at the two rulers relieved... Oblivious to the fact she just doomed the girl she promised to protect.
"Thank you my king... But, if I may be so bold to ask... What caused her to be so ups-"
"You may, in fact, NOT be so bold" The queen cuts her off, still with a smile still plastered on her face
"Oh- I just thought-"
"What happened last night is only for us and Asha to know." The king explains patiently "Now run along, we'll be down for breakfast in a moment."
Magnifico shuts the door.
They can hear the footsteps of the two servants getting farther and farther away.
Once they're sure that no one is near, they look at each other
Both grinning wickedly.
"Well, well, well... It would seem our dear guest did some eavesdropping last night, how rude." The king says, still mimicking his fake caring voice they were doing when talking with the two women, but this time with a devious grin on his face "And as a reward for snooping around, she got her own magic companion to assist her, now that's just not fair, is it?"
"Right you are mi rey, such unbecoming behavior should be punished" The queen says with the same malice in her smile
"And you know..." The king uses his magic to bring the book close to them, he flips through the pages and we're shown an illustration of a wishing star protecting a human from monsters made of shadows "The book says wishing stars can be quite... Defensive of their wish makers. It would be suuuch a shaaame if any harm befalls her, and the star had no choice but to come for the rescue" Magnifico coos in a mocking concerned tone
Amaya hugs her husband's arm as they both finish each other’s sentences:
"We find the girl"
"We find our star"
(The credits for the following sequence goes to @gracebeth3604, thank you so much for the help! Not gonna say what the sequence is about yet of course, but I hope you all enjoy heheh)
We cut to Asha and Aster in the kingdom of Rosas, making their way through the crowd. Asha feels the warm rays of sunshine touching her skin, the kingdom is lively as always, with people everywhere showcasing the talents they acquired thanks to their wishes.
Asha has a confident smile, for she too can't wait to show off this new talent she acquired thanks to Aster, who is right behind her.
They're now at the center of the plaza, in front of a water fountain, water splashes from it. Asha smiles confidently as her fingers easily glide across the strings, music flowing satisfyingly throughout the air, as the sun hangs brightly in the skies, Aster is dancing beside her just like he said he would, the people start gathering around to watch them.
It was working, it was working! If we keep at this long enough we might actually be able to—!
But suddenly, the sun is no longer as bright, and the water stops flowing out of the fountain. The music and cheering all ceases, like a flame suddenly being blown out.
Asha gasps, holding the mandolin tightly in her hands. She’s surrounded by darkness. The only sound now being her slow shaky breaths catching in her throat.
“H- Hello?” She whips her head around in every direction, Aster is gone, everyone is gone. She keeps the instrument held close like it's the last companion she has left “Aster!? …Everyone!?” She calls out in a slowly rising panic that pooled into her stomach.
Everything was going well, what happened!?
Suddenly, a light catches from the corner of her eye, she looks down confusedly to her mandolin, the strings on it are now glowing brightly in green light, making the sinking pit in the girl’s stomach grow even more.
Why did this feel familiar…?
The strings pressed against her fingers begin to burn ever so slightly, as the light sears, she draws her hand back in shock as the strings begin to snap off the head of the mandolin, snaking around wildly in the air. She drops it, making it clatter to the floor and shatter, but it wasn’t like wood splintering, but more so like glass, just like the glass slipper that broke in the king's room of items…
Why was that coming to her mind…?
She wasn’t given time to mourn the loss of her Saba's mandolin, as the strings shot up into the inky black air, their length increased, and they quickly began to tie around her during their accent. Asha reels back, struggling and attempting to get away, but it is in vain, as the green threads tightly latch onto her wrists and ankles, like puppet strings.
An echoing duet of laughter rings above her from every direction, like it’s bouncing off the air itself, she looks up in panic, seeing the strings now attached to a pair of even more shadowy hands, two sets of glowing green eyes piercing her soul.
She hears King Magnifico's voice booming from the sky like a thunder "Hahahahaa~ What's the matter, Asha? Didn't you say you were "a star"? Well then, give us a show!" The shadowy figure of the king moves his fingers that are attached to her strings.
Asha feels as her body being moved at their will, like she’s nothing but a ragdoll, she whimpers in fear with every movement, unable to speak.
"You really thought wishing on stars, singing and dancing could save them? Hahahah!" Queen Amable's cackle sounded akin to what Asha imagined would come from a wicked witch "Awww such a foolish, sweet, little doll" Her echoing voice cooed with a tauntingly honeyed voice.
Asha feels as her legs begin to go numb, looking down, she sees herself turning into wood.
She yells out in panic, pure fear consuming her along with the transformation, that is spreading slowly up her body, she squirms under the restraints of string but it's no use. The wooden corruption eats it’s way up her torso and arms, making her lower half go numb, it claws its way up her arms, chest, and finally it reaches her neck.
"There's no one coming for youuu!" The king's voice is deranged.
"No stars to wish upon~" The queen singsongs, it's the same line she sang in their previous musical duet, a duet Asha does not remember, but clearly it's still deeply rooted inside her mind.
"You are all ALONE" The two shadows say at the same time.
Tears stream down the girl's face, Asha closes her eyes with all her strength, not even letting out a scream, she doesn't have the energy, and even if she did she wouldn’t dare to give them the satisfaction of hearing it.
Her face begins to go numb, the royals laughter slowly muffles until she can no longer hear them at all, if everything was already black before, then it surely was now.
All there's to see is Asha's eyes locked shut as her face slowly turns into wood...
...
(Thank you again @gracebeth3604 for helping with this nightmare sequence!)
Until she hears a familiar voice echo, muffled and distant.
"Asha?"
The voice is not sinister like the royals, it's lively and warm, like a light at the end of the tunnel.
And she does start to see a light, as her eyes slowly open, she sees what seems to be the rays of sunshine hitting her eyes... But it's not just the light of the sun...
It's Aster's hair.
Their face is literally almost touching hers, as he's floating above her.
"Mornin' A-"
"AAAAH!-"
And basically this scene from Ponyo happens
Tumblr media
Asha hits her head on Aster's, some star dust sprinkle on her face, while Aster doesn't really move at all, since he feels no pain.
"Ouch..." Asha massages her forehead while laying down on the bed, she processes both the pain of the impact and... Everything else that just transpired in that nightmare.
"Ooops! Hehe sorry about that, you okay?" Aster asks, unfazed by the scare, he smiles excited to start a new day, in fact, his first day on earth.
Asha on the other hand is feeling pretty down right now, but she tries to not let it show "Uhum, I'm fine... Good morning, Aster" She says while taking some of the star dust off her face "Remind me to teach you about the meaning of “personal space” later" She tries to force a smile, her eyes are tired, and not just because she just woke up.
"I think had enough "space" in my life, thank you very much hehe" he says with a cheeky smile while sitting on the bed with his legs crossed. But Aster sits down on the bed, he realizes Asha looks like she's hiding something "... Hey, you're alright? Did I wake you too early?" The star asks concerned.
Actually not early enough Asha thinks to herself, but of course she doesn't say it, instead she just says "It was just a bad dream I had, that's all..." Asha sugarcoats it, that was the most horrifying nightmare she ever had.
Aster feels the weight of the world fall on him like a giant hammer. He could've prevented that. The star covers his face with both hands and throws himself on the bed, it's like he's hiding away from the shame and guilt "UUGHHH I'M SUCH A DIMWIT! I should've seen this coming!" The star hits his own head on the bed in frustration.
Asha tries to calm down the star, reassuring him "Hey hey it's okay, it was just a dumb dream, and it's not like you could've done anything"
"Yes I could, I can give you nice dreams with my magic..." Aster is now looking at her with a mournful eyes, his hair is shinning way less brightly. This "Dumb dream" is a big deal for the star, as it's his purpose to be there for Asha... To make her happy...
"... Oh" Asha is surprised by that, but at the same time it does make sense that a star would have a power like that. Of course she holds no ill will against Aster for not giving her sweet dreams, she knows he couldn't have known she'd have such a horrible nightmare.
Aster realizes there's no use in mourning for this mistake, all he can do is learn from it and move forward, as he flies off the bed and looks at Asha with his sparkly eyes full of determination "I'll make it up to you, tonight! I'll give you the best dream ever, I promise!" The star swears on it like it's the most important thing in the world to him.
Asha can't help but giggle at how the star is taking this seriously, but it is really sweet how much he cares, she never had someone worry so much for her because of just a nightmare... It was nice. "Thank you, I look forward to dreaming it then heheh" Asha tries to change the subject as she get's out of the bed "So umm... How has your first morning on earth been?"
The star is already back to their cheerful self "Pretty good actually! I just made a new friend that loves earth just as much as I do!" he tells her while jumping a little bit on the bed
"Oh you did? *yaaawwwn* And who's that?" She asks while stretching her arms.
Aster points out the window. She follows where he's pointing... Oh... She should've guessed
"The sun?" She asks him with a curious smile
"Yup! I saw her showing up in the horizon and said hi, so we started chatting, she's really nice!" He explained, excited to share everything with Asha.
"So the sun is a she? Huh neat" Asha isn’t even surprised that the sun itself is sentient, after everything that has happened she’s kinda just going with the flow.
Aster’s smile grows into an even bigger one as he starts recollecting his whole morning to Asha.
"Uhum! I asked her name and she said "The people from the rock you now lay upon know me by many names"" Aster is making a deeper voice as he quotes the sun "and yada yada yada something like that, anyway she said she didn't have just ONE name so I just call her Sunny, she thought that was funny-"
Asha usually would be really interested, and she is, but now that she’s more awake she notices there’s something that Aster hasn’t told her yet... Where's the wish bubble?... He got it last night, right?
"That's great Aster bu-"
"Then I asked her what kind of wishes did she usually gets, and she said it's mostly the same thing: Good harvest, no more rain, unless people DO ask for rain. Anyway she said it's kinda repetitive, but she likes it-"
"Aaasteeer" Asha sing songs his name to get his attention, but he's too lost in his own story
"Then I was like "Why don't you come down here like I did?" and she said that if she did so the whole planet would die, so uuh yeah she ain't doing that, ever. But then she started going on and on about how in about 10 billion years she's gonna EXPLODE, and she got all saaad and I was like "Lady, I just wanted some casual conversation, I'm not a therapis-"
"ASTER!" Asha holds the star by the shoulders and raises her voice to get his attention.
He stops talking and blinks a few times in surprise.
"Where is it?"
Aster tilts his head to the side in confusion.
"Where's what?"
"The wish, you know? The one you promised you'd stop from getting to me while I slept" Asha reminds them with a calm smile, hoping he'll just say he left in the closet or something.
"OOOH YEAH... It never showed up" He said with a innocent smile.
Asha feels a sense of dread go through her...
"... What?... But the king said last night he was gonna grant all the wishes, including mine" She has a puzzled look, could he have lied?... It's on brand for him, sure, but why?
"I saw no wishes coming out of that tower last night, I guess the king just forgot" Aster shrugs like this is nothing to worry about, as from his perspective he just got more reason to stay longer with Asha to protect her from the cursed wish, and he's confident he can do so, as long as he stays by her side.
Asha on the other hand finds this very strange "Huh... He seemed pretty eager to grant it though..." Asha doesn't really know how to feel, on one hand, maybe that means Magnifico doesn't care THAT much about trapping her and is willing to give her a few more days to stay as herself... But on the other hand... They still had her wish...
"We can try again tomorrow night, now come on!" Aster quickly flies out the room and just as quickly he returns with Asha's mom cloak in one hand and Sabino's mandolin on the other "Ready to inspire them?"
In this moment, Asha is seeing in front of her the purple cloak that once belonged to her mother, the mandolin her grandfather once played, even if she never heard him do so, and Aster, the wishing star that she only wished upon because of the things her father wrote about people being connected to the stars... She feels connected with all her family, and with that in mind, she knows she'll be safe... She believes in that with all her heart.
Asha’s face crescent into a smile as she said:
"Alright... Let's do this!"
The sun, or rather, "Sunny" is shining...
But there's some dark clouds approaching in the distance.
Chapter 9
Final Thoughts
Soooo I know this one was a short chapter... For my standards. But there's a reason for that, this was actually just the beginning of a much longer chapter, but I decided to divide it into two chapters, so don't worry, chapter 9 is actually almost done.
Also I think it's better to have this simple chapter of the two main couples waking up in the morning so you guys can see how they're, in a way... Mirrors of each other.
See, that interaction of the king and queen served to show how Magnifico is more of a dreamer, a man child, that can barely control his own enthusiasm... Kinda like Aster, but twisted... And believe it or not but their similarities run even deeper than that.
Meanwhile, Amaya is realistic, grounded, and she understands the real world much better than her husband because unlike him she didn't grow up in a palace... Kinda like how Asha understands the real world way more than Aster... And the similarities between Asha and Amaya also run deeper than that.
Buuuut that's a subject for another post. Let me know if you're curious ;)
Okay but changing the subject, I can vividly imagine Aster seeing the sun rise and being like
Aster: HIIIIIII What's your name?
Sun: Little one, I do not have a name, the mortals in this rock you now lay upon have named me many things in their short and fleeting life time. Some see me as a bringer of life, while others the ravager of their doom. I have seen everything that ever happened in this planet, and I shall see everything that will ever happen... Until it perishes.
Aster: Hmmmm I'll call you Sunny!
Sun: Lol ok
Like yeah, that's what happened, now Aster has a new friend yay
Also, since I mentioned that Aster reminds me of Ponyo...
Tumblr media
Aster loves… EARTH!
Aster loves… ASHA!
Aster loves… *sees Magnifico* Revolution.
Yeah I think that’s his character in a nutshell.
Anyway, I’ll try adding the finishing touches on the next chapter and post it as soon as I can!
Thank You For Reading!
