I think a lot about how Leo’s rescue could have easily ended in him losing a leg as the portal snaps shut on the Krang still clutching the limb, or, alternatively, only having Leo’s right arm make it out, still held dearly in his brother’s hand as the rest of Leo is left behind. (The latter hits even harder, as it directly parallels his future self in the worst of ways.)

I think a lot about how so many things could have gone wrong during the course of the movie with even a little bit of a change, but it really is harrowing how much of a coin-flip the entirety of the Prison Dimension rescue was.

okay then. Chuuya backstory! :D

So Chuuya's the 4th victim, and was 15 when he died. He was actually a part-time employee at Feddie's -> a waiter! carried pizza around and got heckled by Dazai who he was forced to see and be nice to every day.

Chuuya is the middle child of three. Him and his sisters have recently become orphans, but Kouyou was old enough for him and Kyouka to stay with her. The two younger siblings moved to town recently to join Kouyou. In order to help his older sister to get money to support them, he managed to find a job at Feddie Faber's Pizza. He always thought the bear hats that were part of his uniform were embarrassing but bit that down.

One thing Chuuya did often was bring his younger sister to work to watch the Animatronics or play in the arcade because there wouldn't be anyone to watch over her at home. The day Kyouka went missing was an especially busy day at Feddie's, and Chuuya's racked with guilt for even bringing her there.

One thing to note about this pizza place is that there are multiple strange things starting to happen. 2 out of the four animatronics are are "broken," 3 kids from around town have disappeared, the security camera footage gets wiped frequently. As an employee, Chuuya is definitely aware of the shadiness and slightly hazardous cost-cutting, but until now he hadn't considered that there could be something more sinister. Unfortunately learning the truth would be the reason he dies later on.

Even if he really was one of Mori's star employees.

So, the great 'RULES' of the Endless. I know they're meant to be there for their own and everyone else's 'good'. To avoid cosmic imbalance blah blah blah. But look at them from a slightly different angle and they smack of far more insidious Divide and Conquer tactics.

Don't interfere with each others affairs. I mean, technically speaking all your purposes are so deeply interwoven with each other, it's more unnatural to keep them forcefully divided. But if you all could just stay in your own realms, do your own thing and interact as little as possible. That would be grand! Whatever you do, don't work as a cohesive unit!

Don't spill each others blood. Who doesn't want everyone to stay alive and unharmed? Right? But it also handily protects Ma and Da from any form of retaliation. A convenient way to defang the children...Just saying.

And finally don't love mortals. Yes. Please do keep your emotional distance from the very beings whose subconsciouses form and sustain you. Loving a mortal... Uff, that would be like you having a full working understanding of the core of your power. Then sticking your cosmic charger right on in there for a XP boost. The horror!

I hope Yuri realize how shitty the organization he's working for. He always wanted to make a better and peaceful world for his sister to live in, but clearly the way SSS do things goes against what he's aiming for.

I feel really sad for the briar siblings, both of them are naive and doesn't really understand what's happening in the world bc no one was there to teach them but themselves, so they're easily manipulated and exploited, sure yuri is smart, but he's more of a book-smart.

going off of @/anti-spop 's post, i really want to talk about how much i hate it when people act like abuse between siblings isn't really abuse. people see how catra treated adora back in the horde and act like it was all done in good humor, when it was not. same with zuko and azula, people often just laugh it off as a joke.

“zuko knows that azula is a liar but he still believes the stuff she says” yeah because that's how abuse and manipulation works!! knowing that a person is toxic doesn't always mean that you believe it a 100%. abusers can make you trust them or question yourself, that's the whole point. zuko wasn't being stupid and i hate that people think he was.

i don't talk about my personal life very often here, but i do want to mention some parts of it so i'll just put it under the read more, if you don't want to read my vent.

i'm someone who grew up with an abusive sibling (mostly verbal abuse, but abuse regardless) and it took me such a long time to even admit that i was being abused because of how often people treated it as just silly bickering between siblings.

i was called worthless and the r slur (or its equivalent in my language), my sister constantly tried to control and criticize everything i did, and she would never apologize when she did something wrong. she constantly justified her actions and got mad at me when i didn't forgive her immediately.

when i first watched spop, it was really hard to sit through because catra reminded me so much of my own sister. not the physical abuse part (although there were a few instances when she hurt me physically) but mostly the way catra kept weaponizing adora's insecurities against her.

i just wish people took sibling abuse more seriously. it's not always just silly banter, sometimes it really is toxic. at the end of the day, pretty much anyone can be abusive. anyone can be abused. just because they're your sibling doesn't mean you should suffer from their toxicity in silence.

I remember being so distraught when we thought Hirotsu and Gin died, and then when it's revealed that Tachihara was the perpetrator, i was literally like "nvm theyre fine. That's his family, he wouldn't kill them no matter what" and i was right.

#i was on the fence about him going back to the mafia‚ but i KNEW that he would never kill Hirotsu and Gin #Tachihara's entire character is based on family ties and loyalty. he loved his brother so much‚ he joined the mafia to get revenge for him #even if he hated being compared to him. and this was YEARS prior to the series #the Black Lizard squad IS his family. even if he didn't plan it when he first infiltrated the mafia #and their family bond is even brought up in an omake‚ when the squad has to take care of a baby during the Moby Dick attack #so when it's revealed that Tachihara was behind Hirotsu/Gin's wounds‚ i was immediately like ''oh they're fine'' #bc they're his family. he even keeps the hunting dogs at arms length‚ and doesn't treat them like he treats the black lizard squad #which is something that I noticed pretty quickly when reading the manga #he gets mildly annoyed at Teruko but doesn't like. actually DO anything about it #meanwhile he and gin get annoyed at each other and immediately point weapons at each other and act like delinquents #he and gin bicker and fight more like siblings than gin and her ACTUAL brother #anyway sorry for the rambling in the tags. i love tachihara‚ i love that he's the first to break the rules of the Book‚ i love his loyalty #i love his silly bandaid and his unnecessarily complicated revenge plot that his brother would definitely sold him for #bsd #bsd tachihara #tachihara michizou #bsd 4 #bungo stray dogs #bungou stray dogs
