Hedgehog Hodgepodge: A Story of Espionage, Confusion, and an Evil Plan Gone Haywire
~Intermission~
Little by little, Aurora packed her things and slowly moved them to the apartment next door to Shadow’s. Sonic had begrudgingly agreed to the arrangement as long as the two promised to behave and stay in their separate “corners.”
Aurora wanted to leave her room at home in much the same condition, as it was comforting to know that she could come and stay whenever she wanted. She decided to take her solar dancing figurines, bobble head collection, taco-themed joke book, and Kit-Cat clock, but decided to leave her posters. She could swoon over “Bran Baker and the Beefcakes” and “The Phantom of the Rock Opera” whenever she came to visit.
Much to Shadow’s frustration, the evidence trail from the trophy and orb had grown cold. Knuckles and Rouge couldn’t tell him anything more about the orb. And Tails was so preoccupied with prepping his old plane for the antique iron show that he had all but forgotten about the trophy.
Everyone’s lives had pretty much returned to normal since the disappearance of the two items. However, some of Shadow’s contacts had started receiving strange communication signals. The contacts could neither pinpoint the location of the transmissions nor decipher them.
Amy was overjoyed at the development of a small baby bump on her abdomen. After finding some cute maternity wear, she enjoyed standing in front of her full-length mirror admiring her new look. She still couldn’t believe she was experiencing the miracle of new life all over again!
The nursery - one side of Amy’s in-home office - was coming along nicely. Aurora had worked closely with her mother to pick the perfect light yellow paint and soft materials to suit a brand new baby hedgehog. Amy’s morning sickness was finally tapering off, and so the mother-daughter duo could often be found going through Amy’s design portfolios looking for ideas.
It wasn’t long before the whole village was abuzz with the news that Sonic and Amy were having a “surprise” bundle of joy. Soon their friends were happily showering them with all sorts of baby-related items.
“I am bushed!” Amy said as she walked in the door one day with a double armload of gift bags.
“Geez, Ames!” Sonic exclaimed, jumping off the sofa. He had been enjoying an afternoon siesta. “Let me get that stuff!” He took the armload of presents and ran them up the stairs. Amy had taken his place on the sofa when he came back down.
“There’re about five more loads where that came from,” she said when Sonic returned.
“From what?!” he asked. Had Amy hijacked a delivery truck?
“My coworkers gave me a surprise baby shower at work today. I forgot just how much stuff you need to take care of a baby.” She propped her aching feet on the coffee table.
“Be right back,” came Sonic’s reply as he zipped out the door. He returned a few minutes later with a staggering load and a shocked expression on his face. “What are we gonna do with all this stuff?!” he asked when he came back downstairs.
“Worry about it later!” Amy said. She didn’t have the energy to deal with it right now. But she did stand up and move over to place a kiss on Sonic’s cheek. “Thank you for getting everything.”
“No problem, Babe,” he replied, pulling her into a much-needed embrace. Amy relaxed, almost melting into her happy place.
When he released her, Amy grimaced as she remembered an earlier conversation. “If one more person finds out about the baby and asks, ‘You know what causes that, right?’ I just might pound them in the ground with my hammer.”
A devilish grin played across Sonic’s lips. He just had to do it. Placing a hand gently on her ever-growing tummy, he gave her a sly look and said, “Hey Ames, you know what causes this, right?”
But instead of bashing him to bits, Amy got a romantic look in her eyes. She moved a little closer, put her arms around his neck, and raised a brow. “Hmm… actually I do know what causes this. Would you like me to demonstrate?”
“EWWW! MOM! GROSS!!” came a voice from the top of the stairs.
“Crap!” Sonic whispered. “I forgot Tiny was upstairs!” He and Amy dissolved into hushed laughter.
Meanwhile, Aurora had run back into her bedroom with her hands over her ears. Shadow, unbeknownst to the couple downstairs, was sitting in her windowsill, convinced he had just thrown up in his mouth.

I haven't been posting in a while, sry-. I been working on a AU.. This is one of the concept comics, I have-.
(basically making Sonic a anti-villain due to mobians doubting his abilities and then, Tails meeting his demise due to a fight and Sonic is just ends up getting reminded of those doubts, so now, he's in a all time low. So Amy tries comforts him. But in this scene, she's surprised by how much his mindset has changed.. Hopefully, nothing will bring her demise..)

Subliminal, A post-Frontiers SonAmy fic
After the events of Frontiers, Sonic and his friends have gone their separate ways. Sonic should be totally fine with traveling on his own; it's how his lifestyle has always been... and yet he can't help but feel empty without them. With the events of Rhea Island living in his head, escaping Cyperspace is only the beginning, and when he finds himself in front of Amy's apartment, he has a decision to make about confronting his surfacing subliminal thoughts.
Hey!!! This is my first sonamy fic. Very fluff, very angst, and inspired off the idle lines in Frontiers! This is just the first Chapter. The rest of the finished fic is up on my A03, which is pinned on my profile. Hope you like it! Feedback welcome!
Chapter 1 - Magnetic
Station Square, despite being a bustling metropolis, was pretty tranquil in the late hours of the night. The concrete jungle wasn’t as open and freeing as he’d like for a run, but the views from the rooftops and the atmosphere were what drew him in. Sonic was a well-known hero here, but thankfully he had saved the city so many times, he was just another part of their boring 9-5 routine. As he paced down the city blocks, people walked around him, paying him no mind. It was almost comforting to not be paid attention to and just blend into a crowd. Dashing past a hot dog stand, he snagged his meal in a blur, leaving his tip of rings behind. Even running up a streetlamp and parkouring onto an awning, he received some slight head turns, but eventually they kept walking, uninterested. Sprinting up the side of a building, he sat on the edge, letting one of his legs hang off. The already chill air started to bite him up at this height, but he didn’t mind.
Wolfing down his food, he stared at the familiar skyline. He had grown to appreciate it almost as much as the sprawling canopies of Mystic Ruins, but the city always gave him a distant ache in his heart. Maybe it was just the way a big city made you feel small, maybe he was homesick for the forest, or maybe…maybe it was something else. His eyes drifted across his periphery, watching cars drive back and forth, sheepishly.
Then his eyes settled on a window.
It was just an unassuming window, one of a hundred others on the building, but he felt the ice of anxiety run through his veins. The light was on, the drapes just ever so slightly pushed to the side, like the person living there liked to watch the skyline late at night too:Like they could walk out onto the balcony to enjoy the view at any moment. Without thinking, his legs started to move for him, until he realized he had jumped across the street, using the buildings like stepping stones, and arrived in front of the complex. He stared up at it perplexed, like it was a calculus equation.
Months and months had gone by and that one window light had stayed dark. He had stopped checking after a while. But now it glowed at him in the middle of the night like a beacon, pulling him in. He recognized that every fiber of his being wanted to run up to the window and peer inside, and that unsettled him. Despite his mind screaming at him to carry on like usual, to just drop it, he didn’t stop himself from scaling up the fire escape. And when he finally landed on the balcony railing, he also didn’t stop himself from peering into the window…
The flower pot by his foot toppled over and shattered into pieces.
He felt his arms and legs go numb from the sudden panic. Almost immediately, he heard a shuffling noise from inside and the sliding door creak open.
Amy Rose stepped out onto the balcony, dressed in a simple white nightgown, a sleeping mask pushed up against her bangs over her eyes. Looking down she saw the flower pot in pieces, a lavender rose lying helplessly on the concrete. She scanned the area cautiously, but there was only the whirr of the wind.
Sonic held back the urge to take a deep breath, all his air trapped in his chest. He dared not move a muscle. Hanging off the balcony above hers, he watched as she inspected, praying to Chaos she didn’t glance up.
Seeing nothing of note, she huffed dejectedly and turned to make her way back inside.
He was horrified to face her, but watching her walk away seemed just as terrifying to him. He thought for sure his anxiety would keep him glued there forever in a decision limbo, but some autonomy in him took over. The way he felt like he was internally imploding, he thought the words would come out as a yell, but instead it was a hoarse whisper.
“Wait—Amy..!”
Letting go of the above balcony, he plopped in front of her. She clutched her chest in shock, eyes wide. He half expected her to clobber him with her Piko Piko hammer.
He stood there stiff as a log, awkwardly awaiting whatever her response would be.
“Sonic, what on earth—!?” She managed out. Despite the absolute shock of it all, she seemed to cope pretty quickly. “That was my favorite vase, you know.”
“I can… buy you another one.” He responded meekly. He looked down, rubbing his head nervously.
Instead of the venomous reply he expected, she simply gestured towards the door. “I know.” She smiled reassuringly. We can talk about it inside, yeah?”
———————————————————-
Amy’s apartment felt extremely warm and familiar to him despite it being ages since he’d been inside. The interior was a lot more minimalist than he expected from her. It smelled like spice candles from the craft store with the quirky knick knacks to match. He wasn’t sure if it was the comfortable temperature or her welcoming smile, but he felt his frigid body warming up from the outside cold.
She offered him a seat in the living room while she headed off to the kitchen to get some warm drinks. He sat rigidly on the couch with his hands tightly clasped together. He could just barely see her petite figure over the countertop from here. She was muttering to herself and opening cupboards left and right.
His feet tapped impatiently. His fingers drummed on the couch’s armrest. If there’s one thing Sonic was excellent at, it was fidgeting and not being good at small talk. So how did he wind up in a situation where he was a fish out of water?
More importantly, why did he do it to himself?
His thoughts were interrupted by a loud shatter and a sharp inhale from Amy. Quicker than a blink, he was in the kitchen to see Amy on the floor, a broken mug in pieces beside her. Her hands were frozen in time like she was still trying to catch it.
“Hey, you good?” Sonic prompted, crouching down to her level, barely grazing his hand on the small of her back.
She let out a deep exhale. When she turned to face him, he didn’t see the bubbly Amy Rose he had always known, but someone ragged and defeated instead.
“Yeah…just. Dropped a cup.” She muttered. She went to pick up the broken pieces, but Sonic held out his hand to stop her and shook his head, instead grabbing a broom and dustpan from the corner. They silently cleaned up the mess together, working in unspoken unison.
“Maybe I shouldn’t even bother with the hot cocoa. You’re not a hot drink person anyway.” She remarked, dumping the dustpan into the garbage.
Sonic’s heartstrings twisted in his chest. “Hey c’mon, I think a cup of cocoa sounds nice right about now, actually…” He offered her one of his trademark hero smiles.
She returned a smile of her own as she walked up to the cupboard to grab another cup. This time though, Sonic beat her to it and easily snatched two off the shelf for her, setting them on the counter.
“Alright now, where do you keep the marshmallows?”
———————————-
With two cups of hot cocoa heating up their hands, they made their way to the living room to cozy up on the sectional couch. Amy bundled herself up behind a throw blanket, but Sonic, still feeling rather awkward, sat at the cushion’s edge across from her, afraid to get too comfortable.
There was a painful, knowing silence between them, but thankfully Amy was the one to initiate conversation.
“So, you’re here in Station Square.” She shot him a snickering glance, remembering his less than model entry. “At three in the morning, knocking over flower pots. What’s got you in this part of town? I thought you didn’t like the city life much.”
Sonic felt his face flush a bit. Man, he really goofed on that one. He rubbed his nose with his pointer finger. “Uh. Yeah. Sorry if I woke you up, by the way.”
She shook her head. “You didn’t. My sleep schedule is all messed up. You were going to say?“ she deflected.
“Well, I figured I’d give the city a visit for once. There’s still things to like about it. Thought I could maybe catch you in town while I was at it.”
In response to his comment, for a second, he could see that familiar sparkle in her eyes, only for her to suppress it with a gulp of hot cocoa. “Yeah, I actually just came back to Station Square earlier this week. I was in Spagonia for a few months.”
“Spagonia? Were you on vacation?”
“Hardly.” She let a giggle slip though. That part of her that was missing. And god did he miss it. Maybe he could draw it out again. “I was studying at the university.”
“Woah Ames, no way? What did you study?” Sonic exclaimed, genuinely interested.
His comment seemed to fluster her a bit, but she went for another sip to hide it. “Business management, some social studies, nothing crazy. I just wanted something to do, really.” She explained, trying to downplay it. “It was really nice to do something productive for myself. I’ll probably be going back soon, after the winter break.”
I wanna share that love with the world, even though it may take us far apart…
His heart dropped at the mention, but after clearing his throat for a moment, he thought of a good response. “Hey, sounds good to me.” He lied to himself. “…I wanna hear all about it when you get back.”
She nodded, Sonic’s words seeming to give her some resolve she had been needing. “Mhm.” She nervously brushed a quill away from her face.
And there she slipped away again. Man, where was she? The Amy that was fiery as hell, brimming with optimism and energy, his Amy. Well— everyone’s Amy of course. The want for her back was enough to give him the courage to ask. “Hey Ames…you doin’ ok?”
“Oh you mean the cup? The glass didn’t cut me. It’s fine I got them on sale anyways—“
“No I mean…in general. You know.” He really wasn’t good at this kinda stuff. But he had grown up some from the emotionally stunted boy he used to be. The least he could do is ask a prompting question about his friend’s wellbeing.
The look on her face had a million emotions painted on it. Maybe he messed up by asking, he thought to himself. Amy took a deep breath and seemed to steady her breathing, then took a small pause before answering.
“Do you…ever think about Cyberspace?”
If a question could metaphorically make you feel hit by a truck, this was the one. It stunned him so much to have the topic brought up, he almost forgot to respond.
“Yeah.” Was all he could muster out.
She continued. “I know you already know how it feels, but, being trapped in Cyberspace…it felt like I wasn’t even alive anymore. I couldn’t touch, feel, smell, even what I could see, it didn’t feel right.” She stared down the cocoa in her mug. “Being trapped there for so long. I felt like I was losing myself. And when I came out, I really thought that I did.”
He was well aware of what she meant, and she had told him before back on the Starfall Islands…but hearing it again wasn’t any less heartbreaking. He stayed silent, waiting for her to say more.
“So when it was all over, I was determined to go out and try new things, meet new people, travel the world, I guess remind myself that I was alive and that I wasn’t trapped anymore. But…I never felt better. I couldn’t sleep. Had nightmares almost every night. And the worst part, no one else in the world would understand what it was like if I tried to explain…aside from us y’know. The only thing that gave me hope was…was…”
That’s when she bore into his soul with her emerald eyes, locking him in place. It took her a long time to get her words out, but he was going to wait here forever to hear it if he had to.
“I saw everything.”
It was such a simple, vague answer, but it encompassed and contextualized absolutely everything he could have subconsciously felt about the situation. And he was afraid.
He’d been jittery this whole time, but now the apprehension was really cementing. He was really hoping he didn’t look as much of a mess as he felt.
She placed her cup of cocoa down on the low table in front. He followed suit, feeling guilty since he didn’t drink any. She held her hands against her chest, as if she had to hold back the emotions in her from pouring out at once.
“Cyberspace, it showed me your memories, your thoughts, your feelings. When we switched places on Rhea Island…I saw all of it.” She exhaled a sigh of relief as if she had been holding her breath this entire time.
He couldn’t move. Could barely breathe. Without thinking, he let his thoughts slip out of his mouth in a whisper. “I know.”

Wanted to share this little SonAmy excerpt from the Prologue of my Tails fic, which takes place after Sonic Frontiers. Enjoy!
Under the midday sun, Amy and Sonic stood together silently as they waited for Tails to come out from the hangar. Amy was ready for her trip in fashionable style, wearing a straw hat and neck scarf, accompanied by her hammer and a singular large briefcase.
Although she could set them down, Amy kept both items in her hands to keep them occupied, as she and Sonic waited with a slightly awkward silence. Besides the fact that Tails was taking forever, there was this slight tension in the air surrounding her goodbye, at least to her.
Amy and Sonic were comfortable with each other. And really, she had no doubt that Sonic cared for her - his concern for her digitized state in the Starfall Islands, and willingness to help the Koco at her insistence, was proof of that. While she still cringed at her boisterous personality from the early days of fighting Chaos in Station Square, she and Sonic have grown to be good friends and battle partners.
At least, that’s what she’s trying to convince herself, anyways.
Amy snuck a glance over at Sonic, who she caught with an uncharacteristically distant expression on his face. His short temperament and attention span meant that he typically wore his heart on his sleeve, so it was generally easy to tell how he was feeling. This was one of those rare moments where she couldn’t quite figure out how he was taking all of this.
Maybe it’s because, deep down, she felt some sort of spark, or shift in their dynamic, while they were on Kronos Island, but was finding every reason to be in denial of it. Sonic wasn’t the type to be overly sentimental, or vulnerable with his inner monologue, but Amy knew he cared for his friends and always stepped up when it counted. Because of that, she didn’t want to open the box of feelings she sealed a long time ago, and knew better than to get her hopes up just because of a few fleeting moments she could read into.
She quickly glanced back at the ground, to hide the fact that she was staring. But the silence was getting to her. Lifting her head, she opened her mouth to speak, but Sonic went ahead and beat her to it.
“So, uh, you excited?” He asked, an awkward smile on his face. In addition to having his hand on his neck, Amy could see Sonic tapping his foot anxiously.
“Oh! Yeah, I am,” Amy replied, if not more awkwardly, keeping the exchange cordial. Her heart was beginning to race, a familiar anxiety creeping up that almost felt thrilling. She bit the inside of her cheek, trying with every ounce of her being to suppress it and appear as normal as possible.
“I bet. It’ll be fun,” Sonic nodded, keeping his tone friendly while trying to find more words to fill the air. “You’ll have a good time with Sticks and Cream.”
“Yeah, they were really excited when I told them about it,” Amy smiled, rocking a bit on her heels.
“Yeah.” Sonic looked down, then away, a bit of sweat forming on the back of his neck. God, this conversation felt painful.

Modern Amy does have the flanderizations unlike Classic and Boom, but THIS Amy had most of the best moments too. Here’s what Modern has canonically under her belt:
SA1 she saw the bigger picture involving Gamma, she pointed out that love isn’t part of robot’s’ programming and they’re missing something good.
Also in SA1 she stepped up to Sonic from destroying Gamma; stepping up to your crush especially when you haven’t won their heart yet is harder than we think. When liking someone it’s normal to try being on the best terms with them. If they’re doing something that rubs you the wrong way that could taint those terms. (Ofc it’s the right thing to step up regardless)
Her moment with Shadow from SA2. It has been discussed many times why it’s so good but I’ll at least put down this: Amy KNOWS there’s shitty people and bad things but she also sympathizes for others and decides to see the good anyway. It’s waaaay easier to fall into negativity and despair when things get bad. This moment is somewhat similar to the story Pandora’s Box when all the bad stuff flew out but one thing within that seems so tiny but is powerful which was hope. Deciding to see the good is like that hope.
Heroes has been seen as this as one of Amy’s more infamous portrayals but really? Was her crush for Sonic executed the best? Depends on the person, but not the worst. Still, she stayed with her team until they reached their goal. Sure she knew doing that will lead her to Sonic but once again, it’s not bad. Why isn’t anyone complaining about the fact the Chaotix, Rouge, Sonic, Shadow were picking fights too? WTFH…
In Battle, another portrayal and one I actually think isn’t so good, or part of it. (Girl, starving yourself thinking Sonic will like you if you’re skinny? Really? If Sonic has issues then that’s his issue not yours!) However, she helped Emerl with his skills. She was pretty much like everyone else but yet none of them get pointed out for their portrayals.
Riders is sorta known for the bad portrayal between her and Sonic but really it wasn’t bad (the voice direction like tone of voice was different between the English and Japanese, the ladder being more accurate to the characters) until the very end of Heroes story which was when Sonic blew her away along with Eggman. Can’t we be in her shoes for a moment? If someone, one of your friends SonAmy or not they are friends didn’t consider your safety especially like THAT would you be happy? Don’t think so. It’s valid to be pissed. Ofc you should point it out.
06 might’ve been (technically) erased but it still shows Amy’s positive side. If it were to happen again and not be erased there’s little to no doubt that Amy would do the same thing. Like in SA1 she saw the bigger picture by putting aside her crush for Sonic and saving the world. One of things it highlighted was her loyalty. This did show in Heroes too, if she wasn’t loyal she would’ve ditched Cream and Big. People can say all they want about Amy choosing Sonic over the world; the other option is to BETRAY her friend who she’s known for a long time and be like, “Hey, Sonic, my friend who I just met Silver who says you’ll destroy the world so I’m siding with him.” THAT would be bad. (Though in Silver’s defense it was from a valid sense and didn’t know who Sonic was but that’s not the focus right now. Amy is brave for stepping up to Silver who clearly outclassed her in skills) Can we also point out that Rouge and Omega did the same thing yet nobody complained about that? Even if it was worded differently, there’s still a sense of hypocrisy.
Rush had Amy tell Blaze, who was very closed off, about the idea that having friends is truly uplifting. Heck Blaze was even intrigued and had a slight smile because of Amy’s upbeat vibe.
Unleashed highlighted Amy to be in no way shallow when it comes to her crush with Sonic: she states to Sonic that no matter what, he’s still her Sonic. How sweet and endearing is that? She even planned to throw a party for him. Clearly she was trying to uplift his spirit. Sonic wasn’t going through a good time, externally and internally. When all hope seemed lost she openly said that Sonic WILL succeed. Also highlighting her faith, another powerful thing. She had faith in previous games too, like having faith that Sonic will listen to her to not destroy Gamma, faith in the good of humanity in SA2, and as mentioned earlier her faith that in 06 Sonic would never destroy the world but save it.
All of the examples above are from the time era of her “obsessive” days that detractors like use to prove that she’s just a “stalker/yandere/etc”.
I will admit that things like Sonic X didn’t do her justice during that era. Though that is partly thanks to the shit English dub and SOA.
Post 2010 hasn’t really been too great but even in Lost World she told Sonic to save the world, believing there’s a chance even though she felt for sure she wasn’t going to be alive for it. She did say it was too late but it felt like she was referring to the latter, not her having a lack of faith. In Forces she was part of the Resistance. Like previous titles she did her part. Minus a few games, she was always an active participant, even in a game like the Black Knight while even it was not exactly the Amy Sonic knew, Nimue was still a counterpart. Like in the Secret Rings with Ali Babba!Tails and Sinbad!Knuckles there was a connection to Sonic’s POV. Frontiers has been pointed with its faults especially with storytelling (seriously previous games, even the most beloved ones, had this issue too) but even then the desire of Amy wanting to help, like she always has, was there.
Modern Amy has proven to be a brave, positive, uplifting, helpful, kind, and a non shallow girl who definitely cares about Sonic’s wellbeing. If having those qualities is STILL viewed as the worst portrayal of the character… 🤦🏻‍♀️
P.S.: This post sprouted from seeing comments upholding Classic Amy(from the latest news) and a few for Boom while downplaying Modern Amy. Heck someone literally commented “Classic Amy over Insamy any day.” Insamy means Insane Amy Seriously? It’s cool to see Amy getting love but some people forget that Classic Amy is a younger Modern Amy, soooooo they’re really shitting on the one they “really” like?

I drew this weeks ago but forgot to post it here (Instagram is my default app for posting art lol) but anyway here, more Sonamy (since I've been in a slight brainrot of them lately)
Tumblr media
Was inspired by this song :3
It gave me heavy Sonamy vibes, with the lighthearted tone and travel themes. And since Sonic has offered to take Amy with him on his adventures, well, I want that 🥹💙💗

Is… did SonAmy just become canon in frontiers?!
Hello, my dear!❤️✨
I do apologize for taking so long. I’m currently at work, but I did gather the information to your question. I also had to do some searching online to see what the question was asking. (That, and I consulted one of the peers that I work with to double check my findings).
For those of you who are not aware, a review for Sonic Frontiers released on November 1st in Japan. Some fans tried to translate the article into English to read it. After using Google Translate, it was assumed that the article confirmed a fan ship. Those that do speak Japanese responded by saying that the transition was not accurate.
"ガールフレンド" is "girlfriend,” but the article says, "ガールフレンド的存在" which means "the person who looks like his girlfriend.” Or the “self-proclaimed girlfriend.”
ガールフレンド is the equivalent of saying “girlfriend” in English, but “的存在” is “existence.”
If translations are of interest to you, I recommend consulting a website called Glosbe.com. It’s a website created by linguistic anthropologists that partner with native speakers of various languages. It updates frequently as well. Translations are near accurate, it’s just spelling and slight grammar that seems to get in the way at times. This is the website that I used to check for a translation. I also consult this translation with another anthropologist that works in the field of linguistics for clarification. I’m not a linguist, but I work with a few in my field. They said that this was a close translation.
I do apologize if this is not the answer that you were looking for. (If it is, then kudos). Please don’t get mad. I did not intend to answer this with the possibility of shooting an idea down. My intentions here is to provide an answer to the best of my ability.

Day 3
Sonamy. A classic.

SONAMY
so i'm a multishipper if that isn't clear from how often i rave about sonadow and sonaze, but i don't talk about sonamy much. i think it's just because they're like the poster child for sonic shipping, but i genuinely really like this ship! they're very cute and wholesome, and both sonic and amy are my comfort characters (though let's be real who in sth ISNT one of my comfort characters lmao?? these two are just high on the list) so naturally i love seeing them together! it's also super sweet that it was a huge part of amy's character development- clingy fangirl with a slight edge to one of the most badass characters who has a crush- and the same goes for sonic- his constant running away from others to running alongside them. they mean a lot to each other and they mean a lot to me!

Small spoilers for Sonic Prime
Writing out a Sonamy fic I came up with, its in the Sonic Prime universe and the plot(can I call it a plot?) is basically Sonic missing his Amy and y’know, trying to make a slight insight into how he feels towards seeing his friends(especially Amy) so different than what he is used to. Now I think about it, my small HC is that he is kind of like me, I hate big changes in my life and this is a big change for him because his friends don’t really remember him at all. Also the small Sonamy moments will be cool to try and see it through his perspective and how he feels about it...
Here is a little snippet of them interacting(this might be prologue or chapter, kind of split between making this a multi-chapter or just a one-shot or maybe even a two-shot(that’s a thing, right lol). I have autism, so its a little hard to write conversations between characters especially trying to bounce them off of each other and have their conversations flow and be natural y’know?

9, 13 and 14 :)
9. What inspired you to write your first fic?
For my one-shots, I felt like exploring some rarely touched territory. The Tails/Amy one in particular, since I wanted to resolve Tails' controversial Lost World portrayal in a way that could make sense (and I didn't need to use the phrase Wildly Inconsistent in order to do it), since as a Tails fan, the period of fans constantly shitting on Tails - some even requesting that he be replaced or killed off - was not fun. So I guess you could say the Tails/Amy one-shot was me venting, but in a positive way lol.
As for BtS/Stellar, I'll admit that part of it was due to the "Fine, I'll do it myself" mentality when I grew fed up with how hard it is to find traditional Sonicy adventure stories that also retain Eggman as the undisputed main villain - even less that don't needlessly soften him up for the sake of "depth" - but mostly it was because I simply had all these ideas that I thought could be worth sharing, and I wanted to see if I could make a coherent story out of them.
It began in 2014 with the naked template of the character who would eventually become Trudy. Then I started thinking up what, in my mind, the ultimate Eggman Big Bad story would be like. Then I brainstormed the story themes involved, and the setting, and how the official cast would interact with the OC in a way that remained in-character for all of them, and it just kind of snowballed from there.
tl;dr: "All these ideas are exciting me, but no one else is gonna write it cause they're too busy writing OoC Sonamy/edgy Scourge/SA2 adaptation #500, so I better harness that Passion and Effort that fans always talk about".
13. Describe your writing style. If you were to participate in an anonymous fic writers guessing game (like The Masked Author), what writing habits do you have that would be a dead giveaway that it’s you?
If there's gameplay segments, the immediate giveaway would be that Gameplay Narration!Crusher is a lot more sassy than Story Narration!Crusher.
If not… well, as you've noticed for yourself, I'm fond of giving the readers as much of a perfect picture as I can when it comes to the locations. I try not to go overboard and drag it out, but I'm one of those guys that must describe the exact kind of scenery, architecture, sky, etc. "Can't you just say it's a sunset?" "NO, they might think it's just a basic orange sky, I HAVE to specify it's a purple that gradually fades into deep red from a distance!!!"
As for how I write the actual characters, one stipulation that I've been trying to impose on myself with Stellar is to be as economical as possible with the dialogue. They still say a fair amount mind you, since that's pretty unavoidable for a story that's in written fanfic form, but for the big dramatic moments and emotional scenes and whatnot, my intent is to focus on the characters' actions and subtle gestures first and foremost, with everything they do say being just the right amount to go along with it. I take a conversation, decide on the necessary exchanges and length, then add some additional character-enhancing flavor text afterwards to round it out.
This was brought about by the IDW cast's inability to shut the fuck up, with Sonic's wall of text to Surge being the final straw. It made me realise and appreciate how laconic the game cast is by comparison (...usually), so that made me want to try it out. Eggman is a slight exception for this rule, since being Eggman, I figure he can get away with hearing himself talk as much as he sees fit, though even with him, every inch of his dialogue is at least still relevant in some form or another, some cases more subtle than others.
14. Share a snippet.
(Note that there'll be some narration that breaks this up a bit during the actual story.)
Eggman: So being the generous gentleman that I am, I've given these ancient husks a second chance at life so they can have the freedom to carry out my pursuits. But I couldn't just leave them, could I? All that time spent from a bygone era surely must have left them scared and confused upon witnessing this brave new world! They could do something silly in their old age, like resist me! So to help them out in the modern day, I gave them a little… maintenance.

Since you guys seem to be following me alot, I changed my mind a bit about quitting so.. Here is your dose of Sonamy ^^
Tumblr media
Again, this is a parallel universe to the mainline series but it's a AU still so there is alot of simliarites, just with slight differences. (characterization/personalities mostly)
(There are more to this "current" AU thing so you guys can ask some questions if you want. I do have other AUs, but this is mostly the one I like to make content on.)

Through It All: A Sonamy Story - Chapter 7: “Sonic’s Letter”
Amy opened her mailbox, half-expecting to find a stack of mundane bills and advertisements. But amidst the sea of expected mail, her eyes caught sight of a lone envelope. It stood out like a ray of sunshine in the dimly lit box. She reached in, her fingers tingling with curiosity as she held the envelope, feeling its smooth texture and the slight crinkle of the paper. It was addressed to her in Sonic's handwriting. Amy's heart skipped a beat.  She couldn't help but feel excited at the thought of what could be inside the envelope.
As Amy opened the envelope, she felt a rush of anticipation and her fingers tingled with excitement. The subtle fragrance of a daffodil wafted up, filling her senses with a delicate scent that instantly brought a smile to her face. With every beat of her heart, the anticipation built, creating a sense of energy and warmth within her.  Inside was a small letter and a beautiful, bright yellow daffodil. Amy's heart swelled as she read the letter. It was a simple message, but it meant the world to her.
"Hey Ames,
I hope you're doing well. I know that things have been pretty weird lately. I just wrote this letter to say, we should hang out more often, and hopefully pretty soon. I'm in the middle of Book 1 in the 'Shattering Mirror' series Cream told me about, and it's pretty good. And don't worry, I think it'll be about a month before Eggman shows up again. I’ll bet on that. All I'm saying is, let's hang out sometime.
Love From your friend,
SONIC
P.S. If the flowers were crushed, that's not my fault. Blame the mailman."
A smile stretched across Amy's face as she finished reading the letter. It was so like him to keep things light-hearted, even in the midst of everything that was going on. She looked down at the flower that came with the letter, and felt a warm feeling in her chest. It was one of her favorite flowers. She carefully placed it on her bedside table, where she could admire it. Amy quickly made up her mind. She had been missing Sonic's company lately, and the thought of spending some time with him again made her feel excited.
She pulled out her phone and quickly sent him a text. "Hey Sonic! I got your letter, and I'd love to hang out sometime! How about we meet up tomorrow?" Sonic replied almost instantly, "Awesome! How about we meet up at the park near your house at noon tomorrow? It'll be great to catch up!" Amy smiled as she read the message. She couldn't wait to see Sonic again. Sonic couldn't wait either. She took a glance at her clock. Amy shuffled into her bed. She closed her eyes, a sense of contentment washing over her as she drifted into sleep. Thoughts of the countless adventures she and Sonic had embarked on together filled her dreams, igniting a flicker of excitement for what awaited them tomorrow. As the night enveloped her, she clung to the promise of new memories and cherished moments, eagerly anticipating the arrival of a brand new day.

WOOOO I NEED TO TAKE A BREAK FROM THAT HOLY SHIT-
I just finished the first island (and that badass boss that took me, like, five tries I think what the heck that was so cool) and I'm gonna have to put my controller down for tonight that was amazing.
So far the game is OUTSTANDING (I mean come on it so obvious) but MAN were this enemies hard to take out. I might sound like I'm over-exaggerating, but I haven't played something open world like and fast paced in a good while. But I had a blast.
I can't wait to get confused over puzzles and rage over enemies and rock out to some music again I freaking love Sonic Frontiers man.
Also, SLIGHT spoilers under the cut just wanna get something out of my chest
I know I'm more into sonadow, but-
My childhood self just burst through my door and took over me every time I see Sonic and Amy interacting oh, my God.
I know there wasn't any, like, "sonamy" stuff going on, but this dynamic duo in general just makes me so happy.
also can I talk about that moment when sonic said at one point that he was worried about amy and her eyes lit up right when he said that because that moment in particular just made my goddamn night
Okay I've been rambling for too long I need some sleep even though the game is stuck in my head right now. Cannot wait to play it again. LOVE IT

Ok the logo has Amy next to Sonic than Tails. While I can see why this can annoy some, I feel like it can be a slight nod to the order of chronology. The events of CD happen between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. Which means chronologically Sonic met Amy first, second Tails, third Knuckles.
I don’t think this is a huge deal. Ultimately doubt Amy is going to replace Tails as Sonic’s best friend. SonAmy teasing? I suppose given recent content it makes sense but it could also be what I just mentioned above. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
