‘First Kiss’ Modern!Anakin

summary: 3 times you kissed Anakin + 1 time he kissed you

a/n: it's been a while since i’ve written but i got inspired so here's a bit of childhood friends to lovers with modern ani and reader

first kisses everyone has them, some later than others. in your case it was a little complicated, on a technical note you’ve had your first kiss- wether or not it really counted was completely debatable. which is exactly what you were doing with Anakin right now.

“That doesn’t count Ani” you huff, crossing your arms as you lean back in Anakin’s desk chair. spinning back and forth slightly to keep your eyes off of his scrunched up face.

“why not?” he pushes, not understanding why you refused to count the moment as your first kiss.

“we were five and didn’t even know the significance of a kiss” you scoff, stopping yourself briefly to look directly at him as if that would help him understand where you were coming from.

he didn’t look convinced however, sitting up from the spot he was laying on in his bed. now leaning his back against the wall, brows furrowed in what you could only assume was confusion.

“we’d just gotten back from a wedding y/n, i’m pretty sure that was enough for our little minds to grasp the significance of a first kiss” he mocked the way you said significance, putting air quotes around the word as he spoke.

Anakin’s uncle’s wedding, it wasn’t a big event yet they’d invited your family. your mom was practically an unspoken family member so that wasn’t a surprise. what was shocking however was that kids were allowed at the wedding ceremony and not just the after party.

why your mom and Shmi thought you’d both have the attention span for such an event was beyond you.

neither one of you sat still at all, thankfully it was venue where the wedding ceremony took place in the same spot as the after party. which gave you and Anakin lots of room to run off to when your parents finally gave up on trying to get you to stay in your seat.

truth be told you didn’t remember much of what happened that day probably because of how young you both were.

you remembered hiding under the clothed tables and playing hide and seek with Ani. the words from the priest as the ceremony proceeded nothing but background noise for you. both of your occasional giggles escaping loud enough for all the adults to hear.

At some point you and Anakin just stayed under one table in particular, probably talking about cars and ponies. poking your heads out every once in awhile to see if it was over yet.

it was one of those times you stuck your head out that you saw it, the bride and groom kissing. you knew enough from all the princess movies you’d seen that this was an act of love. that gave little you an idea.

thankfully the ceremony was early in the morning and the party ended in the late afternoon. which meant the second you got home- after insisting to your mother you guys go over the Skywalker’s house so you could play together longer, you hosted a little wedding of your own.

Anakin didn’t own a lot of teddys but he had enough for it to work in your mind. it took a bit of convincing on Anakin’s end before he agreed to ‘marrying’ you but the promise of you returning one of the car toys you stole from him was enough of a deal for him. so the two of you worked together still in the clothes you’d worn to his uncle’s wedding, to push the dining room chairs into a line and place his few teddys in them as the guests.

once you had the fun of ‘walking down the aisle’ you grabbed both of Anakin’s hands in yours and planted a kiss on his lips just like you’d seen at the wedding.

“yea definitely not- we were just copying what we saw at the wedding it one hundred percent does not count” you say matter of factly, staring at him blankly. unwavering in your stance on this matter.

Anakin rolls his eyes “fine but what about that time you kissed me at the park!” he protests, pointing an accusing finger at you. giving you a look that said ‘try and deny this one’ so you did.

“We Were seven!” you throw your hands in the air dramatically. “that’s only two years after the last one” you groan, running a hand over your face. “our frontal lobes were barely developed”

“it’s not like they’re fully developed now either, that doesn’t happen till like twenty-five” he says frustratedly. of course he’d know that fact, you lean forward in the chair resting your elbow on your thigh as you now lean into your hand.

“i said barely not fully” you retort to which he rolls his eyes.

“it counts” he says firmly.

Tag, a game you always hated. Anakin on the other hand loved it- of course he did, he could actually run fast. he was one of the tallest kids in your second grade class, and then there was you. one of the shortest kids in the class, the odds were never in your favor when it came to tag. between being slow and clumsy you never stood a chance, the only reason you were even participating is because Anakin Managed to convince you to play.

it was always like this between you two. no matter what you were doing, even if the other didn’t want to do it you’d somehow always manage to convince each other to join in.

joint at the hip from the moment you’d learned how to walk, both of your parents always said.

how he convinced you after you swore you’d never play tag again was surprisingly easy, ‘i’ll make sure you don’t get caught’ he had said. no promised you. and yet he was nowhere to be found as you hid behind one of the trees at the playground.

the sounds of whoever was it chasing the other kids around as they all screamed with glee and fear of being the next person who was tagged. it spun throughout the air like a summer breeze, for Anakin it was a thrilling sound- for you it was a warning that if they found you hiding you’d be it for sure.

which wouldn’t be a problem in your eyes if only it wasn’t next to impossible to catch up to the other kids and tag them.

at the end of the day it was always Anakin who’d let you tag him, ending your misery of being stuck playing the tagger for the rest of the game. you hated it, not liking stuff being handed to you but it was better then having to run for fifteen minutes straight trying to catch whoever you could.

“Kenobi’s It!” you heard a kid yell from in front of you. oh no… in front of you- in a split second you see the familiar boy with auburn locks run right beside you, a wave a panic runs through you as he lunges forward to tag you.

just as quickly you’re tugged backwards by your hand, Turning to face your savior only to see it was the very boy who promised to keep you from being tagged to begin with.

initially you were mad, after all he’d left you to fend for yourself only to somehow manage to save you last minute. but that anger just melted into relief that you weren’t it.

he tugged you along running to one of the playsets, carefully pulling you to hide under the slide with him.

finally he turned back to you, a bright smile on his face that showed he was proud of himself for getting to you in time.

you’d lunged forward then, kissing him right on his cheek as a thank you.

neither of you had time to react before you heard some kid yell “Padme’s it!” and the familiar sound of feet running straight to your direction. forcing you out of your hiding spot and running alongside each other.

big toothy grins on each of your faces.

“it definitely does not count, i didn’t even kiss you on the lips that time” you say annoyed but sit up proudly thinking you’ve won the argument.

“a kiss is a kiss y/n” you can’t help but laugh at his statement. if that was seriously his only defense for that counting as a first kiss then you really had won.

“anything that happens in Elementary school doesn’t count, half of the boys in our class still thought cooties existed” you continue to push, and Anakin looked just about fed up.

“okay if elementary school not counting is your only requirement then i raise you this” he begins, leaving a small gap in the conversation so you could give your input. add any other requirements to the mix but you don’t.

instead raising a brow waiting for him to continue. “sixth grade. Padme’s Birthday party.” he crosses his arms, now sporting a smug smile of his own.

“that was a dare!” you shout, blushing embarrassed at the memory.

cake had just been served. honestly you’d never seen such a big cake served at a birthday party, perks of being rich you’d guessed.

there weren’t even that many guests, maybe eight people your age and the rest were padme’s family members. which only consisted of her mom, dad, two aunts and cousin.

you weren’t complaining though, the bonus of such a big cake and so little people meant you could help yourself to as many slices as you wanted.

currently you were on your third slice, well past being full and heading into food coma territory but this was the best cake you’d ever tasted and you’d be damned if you didn’t consume as much as you physically could without vomiting.

Anakin was well into his fourth or fifth slice himself, between the two of you Padme’s birthday cake would be gone within the hour.

“i don’t think i’ve even seen you guys breathe in between slices” Padme's soft voice pulled you and Anakin’s attention almost immediately.

“i thought you said we could have as much as we want?” Anakin spoke through a mouth full of cake, the hard consonants coming out more as f sounds making it hard to understand him. well you understood him just fine, but judging from Padme's confused and disgusted face expression it was safe to say you were the only one.

she turns to you for an explanation but you just shrug “it’s good cake” you say simply as if that’s answer enough. finishing the last bite of your slice before she tugged you along with her to join the others leaving Anakin to finish his slice by himself.

“look who’s finally is joining us” a boy with blonde hair said, he looked familiar but you couldn’t remember his name. maybe he was in one of your classes? either way you just rolled your eyes not caring enough to give his subtle jab any real attention.

“we were going to play truth or dare you want in?” one of the other girls your age asked you, she had long brown hair. you had absolutely no clue as to who she was.

Padme was friends with a lot of people you didn’t know, Anakin and Obi-Wan being your only mutual friends. of course Obi-Wan wasn’t able to make it to this party, so it was just you and Anakin.

“sure why not” you said with a shrug, but by the shared look they all had you began to think you might regret that decision.

the second the dare left the mouth of the brown haired girl you now new as Armani you were about ready to strangle Padme who looked proud of her for asking you to do it. this was definitely a set up- you knew you should have picked truth.

“come on y/n, you scared?” the blonde boy- jacob, teased.

oh it was on. normally you’d find a way to wiggle your way out of the situation but you were not about to be called chicken by some boy who didn’t even know you.

so you spun right on your heel, and marched right up to Anakin.

the poor boy looked extremely confused and almost scared? like he was afraid you were about to tell him off for something- which in his defense your determined face did come off as an Angry one at times, plus you were also annoyed.

leaning down you planted a kiss right on his frosting covered lips.

it actually hurt quite a bit since you did it so quickly, you smashed your head against his in the process. but hey you did the dare.

you groan in embarrassment, rubbing the same spot on your forehead where you’d smashed into his years ago. you did your very best to forget about that memory and up until now you’d done a good job at it.

“uh uh you said the only requirement was that it couldn’t happen in elementary school. and that was middle school” he countered your previous comment.

“you said it yourself that was sixth grade- we were fresh out of elementary school, that’s practically still being in it” you glare and he scoots forward now sitting on the edge of his bed. your knees brushing against his.

“it was almost the end of sixth grade, so actually it was basically seventh grade. if we’re going by that logic” he runs a hand through his hair as he recalls the memory.

“regardless, it doesn’t count.” you huff once more, wanting this to be the end of the conversation.

his brows furrow in annoyance. “why are you so insistent on all those kisses not counting” he says exhaustedly.

“why are you so insistent on them being counted!” you throw the question back at him.

“because i count them” he says it so casually but with full sincerity all you can do is blink a few times, processing his confession.

he counts them.

to Anakin Skywalker his first kiss was when you were five and pretended to get married. His second kiss was when you were seven and thanked him for saving you from getting tagged. his third kiss was when you were 11 and smashed your face into his after he finished his last slice of cake.

now here you both were at 18 years old, fresh out of high school and on a technicality the only person you’d ever kissed was the very boy in front of you.

“but we were just kids?” it came out as a question, your voice a bit airy as you were still wrapping your head around the revelation.

“oh for crying out loud” the next thing you knew Anakin’s mouth was on yours.

he’d leaned forward from his seat on the edge of his bed, hands now resting on your thighs as he kissed into you.

your eyes fluttered close almost instantly.

“did that count?” he asks smugly once you both pull away. a big smile made its way onto your face as you looked at him now.

wether you liked it or not Anakin was going to be considered your first kiss and he insured that.

Yandere Muichiro and Giyuu reacting to their sweetheart trying to kill themselves after the kidnapping, but they arrive in time to stop it. How would their reaction be? What if she said she hates them?

Muichiro Tokito:

It takes him a moment to realize what's taking place but the moment he sees the knife in your hand, his heart drops.

With his fast reflexes, he slapped the knife out of your hand and grabbed you, pinning you to the floor whilst hugging you. Trying his best to stay composed.

Normally, Muichiro doesn't show much emotion, but when you try to end your life, practically threatening yourself? He becomes very emotional, and silent tears run down his face as he hugs you tightly.

He keeps rubbing his head into your neck, squeezing your waist while whispering frantic words: "Please not you too, I can't lose you. Please, I can't..."

But, when you tried to push him away, whispering the words of, "I hate you," He feels extremely guilty and horrible.

After this incident, he'll try to make you come outside with him more. Take you out for a walk, eat out at your favorite restaurant, and let you throw rocks in the pond near the shared estate; the sounds of birds chirping and his soft voice calling you for tea.

He's gonna be more protective of you, even more than he was before, following you everywhere, wanting to hold your hand and shooting glares at anyone who approaches you. He doesn't let you out of his sight, paranoia filling his lungs if you are out of it for more than 5 minutes.

He wouldn't forgive gimself you got hurt, let alone successfully hurted yourself.

Giyuu Tomioka:

When he came home to see you passed out on the floor, medication spilled everywhere. He swore he saw his sisters' death replaying in front of him again.

He grabs you, forcing his fingers down your throat to throw up on the floor whilst shaking you awake; patting cold water on your face. Ensuring all things to get you awake.

Once he sees you open your eyes, he hugs you very tightly, ignoring your bile next to the two of you as he kisses your face. He's apologizing, over and over again.

"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry. Please don't leave me, please..."

At first, Giyuu hopes that this is all a misunderstanding, that you just were in pain and needed pain meds; accidentally overdosing with too much. But the minute you turn your face to the other side in embarrassment, whispering the words: "I hate you," he knew it wasn't an accident.

Much like Muichiro, he rarely shows a vulnerable side but in this case... he starts to cry hardly in a soft voice; grasping you as he rocks back and forth.

He immediately blames himself for this incident; he's upset he didn't see the signs, that he couldn't help you.

Immediately, all your privileges that include being alone are stripped away; going to the bathroom for more than 5 minutes is a huge no-no. At most, he'll stand outside, constantly worried for your well-being.

Giyuu knows you hate him, hell, he does too. But, he's gonna try to make you feel better: allow you to go outside, sit in the grass with the sun blazing on you. Cook your favorite food and let you visit your family if it helps you mentally.

He can't lose you too, not after what he's lost and seen; he'll make sure your okay, even if it means risking his life.

Hey, I'm sorry if this isn't entirely your wheelhouse but do you know any ttrpgs which have players as bug aliens? Not like "human with different stats and a shell", but full on nest-building/flesh-eating/genuinely alien bug aliens? Sorry again if this is a bad ask/something you've done before.

THEME: Bug Aliens

Hello friend! Many folks seem to feel unsure about whether or not they are asking incorrectly - I want to assure you that I welcome all kinds of asks, and you don't have to worry about asking for something that might have been asked before - it just means that I get to either revisit games that I think are interesting, or add more games that I didn't talk about last time! Let's get started.

XENO, by Caligaes.

XENO is a role-playing game where you take the role of a monstrous ALIEN who arrives on Earth with the sole objective of claiming a new OPPORTUNITY.

From 2 to 5 people (including the Alien Master) can enjoy a ONE SHOT where they will feel like true monstrosities destroying everything in their path. To start your invasion you need this document, 4-sided dice (called d4), a pencil (or pen if you're brave), and a sheet of paper to take notes of your mission.

There is nothing that really decides what kind of alien you are here, only that you are one - so go and fulfill the directives of your ship’s AI and cause psychic strife while you’re at it, and be as buggy as you can be! This game uses only d4’s, and everything fits on a brochure, so it’s easy to print this game out and give everyone a copy. Go forth and wreak havoc!

Mother Needs Flesh, by JoPa

MOTHER roams the galaxy searching for ways to satisfy her hunger. You, her Scions, operate to fulfill her needs. Most of the time, you’ll infiltrate spaceships and moon stations, seeking to end all life aboard so MOTHER can feed on the flesh of your victims. Other times, you’ll forge alliances with pirates and planets to keep MOTHER safe. At dire times, you’ll help MOTHER fight off spacecraft seeking to destroy her. No matter what you do, you do it for MOTHER.

MOTHER NEEDS FLESH is a minimalist tabletop rpg for up to four players and one Game Master. All you need is four, six, eight, ten and twelve-sided dice plus pen and paper to play.

The game sets out the premise that Mother is a fleshy creature that travels through space, and that you are your Scions. There’s not a lot about what your Scions look like, so I think making them bug-aliens is do-able, although you might have to re-flavour some of the lore or moves to really immerse yourself in that kind of game. This is absolutely a horror game, and your characters will be finding humans to rend and feed to Mother, each feast making her (and you) potentially more powerful.

The game system for Mother Needs Flesh is Breathless, which uses a deteriorating dice system. Your dice re-set when Mother mutates or when you Boil Blood, but you’ll start with a d10 or d8 in most things, and that dice will deteriorate down in size with every roll that you make. It’s a neat and concise system, it fits on 2 pages, and it gives you that thrill of being absolute monsters.

Primal Pathways, by UFO Press.

On the harsh shores of this young planet, a new creature crawls out of the primordial ooze to face the forces of evolution.The pressures it will face are far more than natural: Guardians, enigmatic entities from another plane of existence, have seen fit to guide the evolution of a selected few young species.

As new generations rise and Civilisations emerge, what shape will your people take under their Guardian’s guidance?

In this biopunk setting supplement for Legacy: Life Among the Ruins 2nd Edition written by Laurence Phillips and illustrated by Juan Ochoa, you will create a new species and guide its physical and social evolution from the birth of civilisation to the stars. (The core rulebook is required to play.)

This game is unique in that you actually play on two different levels. On one level, you are Guardians, entities that are bigger and more abstract than a singular species. These Guardians will favour and guide the evolotion of smaller Species, out of which you will create individual members who create new stories. This game might be more suitable for a play group where different players have diffferent kinds of themes or goals they want to explore.

If you want to play a bug alien, the Parasite or Devourer might be a playbook that works for you. Other players might want to pick up the Builder or the Otherworldly instead! You’ll track the evolution of your species and decide what kinds of paths they take - the Devourer might priotizize a Hive Society or evolve into an Apex Predator. Meanwhile the Parasite might become raiders or establish an alien culture of spying. If you like the idea of moving between two levels of narrative and two modes of play, then this game might work for you!

Descent into Midnight, by Rich Howard, Taylor LaBresh, and Richard Kreutz-Landry.

Descent into Midnight is a Powered by the Apocalypse tabletop roleplaying game where the players take on the role of alien psionic creatures who are defending their home from an otherworldly corruption. In a game where sapient krakens and microscopic krill can create a complex society, how strong or dextrous you are isn't as important as the social, emotional, and existential impact of the actions you take. Descent into Midnight is a game about connections, so the statistics used to describe your character describe your relationship to yourself, your team, and the people around you.

This game is meant to happen on a completely alien planet, and your character options are vast and endless. It’s not specifically designed for bug-aliens, but you can 100% make it about bug-aliens, complete with nests and a hunger for flesh. In fact, you don’t even have to create a physical character - your character can be the Concept of Oxygen, or The Environment That Houses All.

That being said, the game does focus on protecting a society from corruption - this means that while the game absolutely has a focus on horror and decay, the idea is that in a campaign game, your characters will be working to fix the problem, rather than making it worse. So I’d say that in terms of concept, it might give you something of what you’re looking for, but tone-wise I’m not sure if it matches what you’re thinking. Regardless, this a gorgeous and captivating game that’s worth looking into.

M👹NSTER March: Day 2 (Butterfly)

I'm working with two different prompt lists, depending on which one I like that day so here's my day two.

I might add to this but I needed to get it out so it's finished for now.

Short monster smut bit for MM.

You're a hiker who enjoys getting out early in the morning so you can view the strange vast desert and the carved canyons of the Midwest US. It's almost always the quietest space you've ever inhabited, and it helps to ground you when you're feeling like work and life are too much. You never meet anyone out there.

Today turned out to be one of your best hikes yet, but you've pushed yourself a little too far and you've run out of water just when the day starts to get hot. You hide out in a shady spot for a while, laying down on the rocks to let your heart rate slow down and give some of the sweat the chance to evaporate and cool you off. As you lay there the sound of fluttering wings curls against your ears and ruffles your hair. You sigh at the sensation. It's butterfly season. You love watching the insects gather in makeshift pools and around sources of nectar in the desert. They are so resourceful and even drink your sweat from time to time, allowing you the chance to study them.

You feel thin delicate legs along you skin. There's a slight breeze as their beating wings fan you. You drowze, unworried and enjoying the tickling sensation of insect legs exploring your arms and shoulders. A long soft probiscus joins the legs, rubbing against your damp skin and sucking gently. Little butterfly love bites. It curls around your neck and probes between your breasts seeking more of the salty nutrients from you body. The tightness of your sports bra doesn't let it go far, but the rasping sensation of the hairs sliding back and forth causes to to squirm.

Wings flutter and whomp the air. you're feeling cooler but also hot. The probe is sliding over your exposed belly gathering sweat from the slight depression of your navel. The sweet feeling of the little insect legs grows stronger as they crawl over your legs. They slip underneath the hiking skirt you've got on seeking a different wetness that's just beginning to flow. You legs fall apart, you're too content in the shade to notice anything amiss. And after all what can a butterfly do to you?

As you slip in and out of your nap your brain starts to dream up sensations of the many legs touching you. They explore and tease at the fabric. They slide under the the little spandex shorts while the prehensile snout dips against the wetness between your legs, tasting over and over again.

You wriggle at the feeling of soft plummy antennae ticking your collarbone

A leg slices through the taut fabric covering your hot quim so delicately that you barely notice that you're exposed. Still between waking and sleep, you enjoy this dreamlike pleasure. The long proboscis writhes through the folds of your pussy seeking the nectar there and causing more to drip. It gathers little droplets to bring to its mouth, savoring each one. The legs hold on to your hips and torso, they tap against your skin lightly, adding to the slight simulation. Your cunt blooms like a fragrant desert flower drawing the insect in closer. Its large abdomen pulses and slides against your outstretched legs. Kirby and the Flood of Darkness

My rambling about voidsent Kirby & how he became Makoh'to's reaper avatar. It's official Makoh'to lore, babey!!

Spoilers for reaper quests and 6.1 onward, iirc.

VOIDSENT KIRBY LORE!!

Things will likely change as we learn more – or stay the same bc I diverge from canon if I please lol – so this is all just in good fun!

Some context on why Kirby is suddenly in Makoh’to’s lore – simple! I’ve loved Kirby since I was a little kid. It’s been quite some time since I played a Kirby game, but adding Kirby to Makoh’to’s lore actually got me to purchase Kirby and the Forgotten Land a few days ago. The game is very cute and definitely greasing the gears spinning in my head re: voidsent Kirby LOL

So I’m thinking… void Kirby (name in progress) has his own domain in the Thirteenth. And within this domain, there are a lot of other smaller voidsent… like Waddle Dees, perhaps…………. Maybe there is an old, decrepit Fountain of Dreams at the center of Kirby’s domain.

This domain would be more peaceful than others belonging to hungrier voidsent. The Waddle Dees and Kirby will often travel to the Source to find aether rich foods, like apples, and bring them back to share with everyone else. They really are all Little Guys and try to avoid conflict and fighting.

The Waddle Dees themselves are quite peaceful, but if anyone were to try and bother Kirby or his domain, that Little One would make quick work of them! His copy abilities come from all the voidsent he’s consumed. Perhaps there’s a reason he and Makoh’to sport matching heart marks.

Despite Kirby being feared among other voidsent, the ones like Golbez and the Big Four write him off as a clueless child-like voidling. (Not me thinking about Golbez drawn in the style of a Kirby villain.) They don’t bother with Kirby. For whatever reason, he does not have the aura of someone who has consumed many voidsent. Hmm.

Anyways, during travels to and from the Source, Kirby happens to see Makoh’to from time to time. Kirby is inexplicably drawn to Makoh’to. There is something so familiar about that miqo’te! But he is a little baby who is collecting fruits and desserts for his friends back on the Thirteenth, so he leaves well enough alone.

Until one day Kirby, just floating around the Thirteenth without a care in the world, happens to eavesdrop on Golbez recruiting the Big Four. Kirby doesn’t understand the particulars, but he knows it’s not going to be good! He dashes away unnoticed (or if anyone did, they did not care) and seeks out help! But who could possibly help him?

Like a shining beacon, a spark of blinding aether appears near Kirby. It’s calling out to him… and it feels so familiar… never one to shy away from danger, Kirby rushes into this spark and travels to the Source – and that familiar miqo’te is there to greet him!

(The above part is when Makoh’to first interacts with the reaper job stone hehe)

Unfortunately for Kirby, he cannot speak the languages of those on the Source. He allows Makoh’to and himself to be bound, hoping through this action Makoh’to can learn of what is happening back on the Thirteenth…

Creature wise, Kirby would be very similar to an atomos! Much like an atomos, he can call out other voidsent by allowing them passage through his gate. In times of need, Kirby can summon forth his voidsent Waddle Dees for assistance. Sound familiar? :3

Unknowingly, Kirby can control where inhaled items (and creatures) go. Either they are consumed for aether, send to his domain, or randomly scattered about the Thirteenth.

I have some ideas I’m messing around with for who Kirby is/was. The obvious answer would be a shard of Azem! But at the moment I’m thinking more Kirby absorbed a shard of Azem and is overall a collection of the hopes and altruism of citizens of the Thirteenth.

As always, I will add more as I go. Concepts may get switched out or completely nixed. It’s all about having fun, though! And I am having the time of my life with this lol

It was time to go fishing, so with the money I had earned, I found mydream stream on a ranch in Montana. I bought the ranch, called my managementgroup at Colombia, and told them I had no desire to play anymore. I had earnedenough money that I didn’t need to work anyway.

"Forseveral years, I did what I wanted, but as time went by, my life became emptier.I found out that when you have everything you thought would make you happy, andit doesn’t- you start asking questions like: What’s missing?

"So,I walked down the aisle, surrendered my life to Christ, and was baptized. Iread the Bible when I was a kid, but I never wanted a Lord to obeyunconditionally. I went home that day broken over my selfish ways.

"Thatnight, I couldn’t sleep, so I got up and started reading the Bible. Soon I cameacross 1 Corinthians 10:31 that said, "Whatever you do, do itall for the glory of God." I realized there were only two things I knewhow to do: fly fish and play guitar. I am playing the guitar today for God’sglory, and that’s what I tell my students at Pepperdine, where I teach. I nowhave peace and joy unspeakable that I never had before.
