Writing Family Web Daily: Day 18

“Yeah, it was,” Leo said, shifting awkwardly from foot to foot. “His new arms got stuck under the bridge and the glitter slime stopped working for whatever reason.”

“Glitter...slime?”

“The ointment stuff you gave me. It looked like glitter slime. And you never actually explained what it was, so that's what we called it,” Leo said with a shrug. “Why it stopped working? I don't know. Probably because I still don't know what it is.”

Splinter sighed, his eyes closing briefly before he tapped a button on the projector to turn it off.

If he didn't have everyone's attention before, he certainly did now.

“You're right,” he said. “I should have told you more about it, i should have /done/ more about this.”

Splinter looked at each of them in turn.

“I shouldn't have made you think that you had to handle this on your own. Especially as something as serious as this,” he continued. “For that, i apologize.”

Leo could only stare, trying to wrap his tired brain around the words.

Their father just apologized. to them. That was, well, that was the last thing he expected to hear when Raph dragged him in here. Judging by the awkward silence surrounding him, that was the last thing his brothers expected either.

The silence was broken a second later by Mikey darting forward and pulling the old rat into a hug.

“Aww! Thank you!” Mikey beamed, his helmet pushed askew. “I knew you worried.”

So the Zaun Family Holiday fic I wanted to post sometime mid-December is not finished. Hopefully will be finished tomorrow (26th December for me).

Yeah this month has been a lot crazier than I could have anticipated. I would say next week is going to be quieter and I will hopefully get more on top of things, but, well, I thought that would be true of last week as well and that one turned out to be the busiest of the month so far.

I donated blood today and when they took out the needle for some reason the blood just kept ... squirting out of my arm (???) so I'm not allowed to take the bandage off until tomorrow and I gotta say I'm not a fan.

For the love of Jack that trailer is... weird af... and that’s putting it mildly... I mean it starts out with Jensen voicing the thing totally NOT in character and what was in there is so not compatible with the canon in my head that I got from Supernatural (and maybe from reading too much fanfic, but that’s another thing altogether) that I am pretty sure I’ll watch this mess just to see how bad they fucked it up and how much they’ll make us have headaches from the brainmelting gymnastics they’ll have us do to get back into actual canon...

Hola!

So an introduction to my language learning journey.

I began learning Spanish in highschool. I took it for three years before I graduated and stopped taking formal lessons. For the reason my grammar is often pretty iffy. Like certain phrases I just know how to say. (Por ejemplo: Cómo se díces? I can say that I don't need to know the grammar I just know what I said without any other knowledge.) But I have been doing a lot more of just listening to spanish and reading it. Rather than formal work. Although I'm thinking of trying to get more into the technical understandings as well. Just as an exercise maybe 15 mins a day or even every couple of days.

My Spanish focus is España Spanish. Because that's what I was taught in school. However I tend to cross learn a lot. So I am picking up some words from more South American Spanish speaking countries. (Like Mexico and Chile)

I also am going to pick up Russian on Duolingo and also like looking for more grammar resources outside of that. (this is starting today lol, I hope)

I'll update later on my progress (whether or not I actually completed the duolingo task and whether or not I actually did any work on spanish)
