bitch literally not that long ago an aroace youtuber animator was insulted by almost half of its community for being it

#i did some research about it and found out that the problem was principally that she had previous experience in the romantic area #so people just didn't take her seriously and said she was lying #even though she stated multiple times that she wasn't comfortable in those situations #now things are more calmed but damn #mind your own bussiness #i believe she knows more about herself than you #sorry if i offended you with this comment but i hate how aro/ace/aroace people are always left behind #insulted and rejected because they “dont know what they are talking about”#or because they “just have to wait for the right person”#or because they are “psychopaths and they are missing something”#i love that animator and she helped me realise a lot about myself #and now that i know the context i think i will start making a list and killing aphobes one by one #aromantic #arospec #asexual #aroace #acespec

hi thank you!!! sorry this took me forever HAHA i wanted to put together a coherent detailed thing but realized i uhhh honestly don’t think that hard abt it when i draw

i tend to just plan out the hair parting n hairline

and then i just simplify n stylize curls by only drawing the front half of the curl? like this ^^ i like drawing them in an implied sort of style

rest of advice i’d give is to just observe how real hair sits (ie looser curls being more visible from further away n coming off as bigger etc etc) n how other artists draw hair !

I have an idea that involves Velvet and i wanted to ask you what you thought of it! :3

A few days after RWBY and Jaune return from the Ever After, Velvet notices that Jaune is keeping his distance from her, and she has no idea why. She asks all of Team RWBY and even Nora, Ren, and Oscar, but they don’t know why he’s doing it either.

She tells Coco about it and she immediately wants to figure it out and the two basically corner Jaune to get him to talk. He relents pretty quickly and says he’s doing it to make sure he doesn’t make Velvet uncomfortable.

Velvet has no idea why he’d make her feel that way, he’s her friend after all, so Jaune explains that soon after returning from Ever After he caught himself reaching to touch her ears out of Habit because he did it with Juniper whenever he was stressed or needed something to ground himself, but he knows that touching a Faunus Trait is a very serious and intimate thing and felt horrible for nearly intruding on her personal space.

Velvet is touched by his thoughtfulness and says she appreciates it immensely, but he doesn’t have to distance himself from his friends, all he had to do was explain from the start and she would understand, and now she does :3

Coco’s still hung up on the fact that Jaune was friends with an honest-to-gods Jackalope LANSKXSBJS

And after Coco and Vel confront him

Sorry I just! I love this scene you’ve set up so much that I wanted to see come to life. Jaune’s always treated so strangely in this fandom. He’s really not that bad if you just focus for a sec.

I totally see this scenario being believable. All that trauma from his time in the Everafter. And Juniper was his only stability for so so so long…you don’t forget someone like that. See their ghost in familiar places, in familiar people.

I think it’ll do him good to start being made to process his issues. I haven’t made it to V9 yet but my take on Jaune is he’s just having a bad day constantly. Underdog healer. Being around new company will do him good. Help him process. I think when the trio are alone together they’ll make a lot of progress with that. Unload a lot of that baggage he’s been carrying.

Anyways, boy’s gonna be fine. He’s in good hands and even better company~

the thing about trauma and i think the reason im always more compelled by characters who lash out as a result of it instead of being made stronger by it is that it’s pointless. none of that shit happened for a reason. there’s nothing you’re supposed to do now that it happened. i can’t stand narratives that romanticise trauma bc the reality of it is that you went through that for no reason and you have to just deal and keep going. there’s nothing beautiful or brave about it. no one is writing you for it to mean something. it’s just… there

#like even good victims of trauma who do respond well and bravely and become better for it - none of that happened BECAUSE of their trauma #it happened bc of how they chose to respond to it. it happened because of THEM #trauma is inherently a non-human thing it cannot have emotions like bravery it cannot be personified #it’s just an object you carry with you and some people bear it better than others #i think a lot of people bc of narratives we see in media find themselves irl looking for some Great Purpose behind their trauma #like it had a point all along and some greater being is writing it in a concise way that makes narrative sense #but this is real life and it was pointless and im sorry that it didn’t mean a fucking thing. now get up and keep going #sorry if this is super negative lmao 😭

Then the light became colour: green, gold, silver, white.

Going on record to say Rings of Power absolutely slaps, as a lifelong Tolkien fan I'm so disappointed the way people tried so hard to judge it before it even aired and wanted it to be bad so much that they've literally convinced people to be afraid to watch it and judge for themselves. The visuals are STUNNING, the costumes are phenomenal, the creature design is haunting and so visceral. And the characters and world feel so *lived* miss me with that shit about it being low effort or budget, you can't judge a show by a handful of promo stills. I'm glad I didn't listen to the bs takes from people who are mostly just trying to hide their bigotry behind Tolkien worshipping zealotry.

#i love the man but he wasn't some paragon or god amongst men #he was a war vet and a linguist and historian and a writer #he made mistakes and he did great things #he was just a human guy who wrote some really great works but that doesn't mean there's some perfect purity to them #and i've been in this fandom for almost 3 decades #don't let anyone convince you this show isn't worth watching #hiding behind virtue signaling bullshit it's so disappointing how many friends and acquaintances I see falling for it #most of them are just mad they dared to say elves can come in more shades than ivory but know no one will listen to that #so they couch it in buzzwords and concepts no one would dare call them out on #rings of power #lotr rings of power #lotr #fandom critical #fandom discourse #sorry for the rant #i was gonna keep it to myself but it's all over all of my timelines and dashboards and i needed to get it off my chest
