Also, I am watching Good Night Oppy (the documentary about the mission of the Mars rover Opportunity) because apparently I want to Cry. And aside from the NASA crew who worked on the project all lovingly referring to Opportunity and its sister Spirit as "she" and talking about how much the whole project meant to them, the lead engineer on the Spirit program, when talking about the end of Spirit's mission, just gently goes "I guess she was tired too, after all the work she had done" and just. Did someone leave a communicator badge lying on Mars? NASA's long-running Curiosity rover mission just spotted a familiar shape to "Star Trek" fans: The iconic delta-shaped emblem that Starfleet officers typically wear on their uniforms. Unfortunately, it would be highly illogical to say that a Starfleet landing party walked near Curiosity's roving grounds, as the image was of a mere Mars rock that just so happens to resemble the "Star Trek" symbol.

Introducing Rover!

Rover is an upgraded mini DJMM that was modded to be Star’s companion. Star’s jet pack is where Rover charges and generally resides whenever not out and about.

Quick notes:

- Rover’s arms are optional and he can tuck them away in shoulder compartments. Both his arms and tail use rubber hose logic - can be any length and are very flexible.

- Star and Rover are linked; even on opposite sides of the Plex the two can find each other with their GPS locators

- Rover is about as fast as an average RC vehicle

- Naturally curious and investigates anything new he comes across, documenting everything with pictures and notes

Oh, and featured: Pluto ( @starlightcloudbaby ) catching a ride between the bowling alley and the circus. ;3c

Hello, Anon:

I wholeheartedly endorse people getting to know each other, maybe even falling in love, and living happily ever after, but there is absolutely something about the way Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner have handled their budding romance that truly gives me the ick, as the kids say.

I think you nailed it, Anon.

But here’s where we might disagree (prepare yourself):

I’m not really seeing those dead eyes. He looks to be enjoying himself imho. His movements appear natural and his demeanor seems relaxed and comfortable around her.

FWIW, we may see this scenario from different vantage points, because we are different people, and that’s ok. It’s no secret to anyone familiar with my blog that I leave room for skepticism when seeking the truth about something, so kindly please indulge me my point of view, in light of the evidence that I see in front of me.

Whether or not he’s simply leveled up his PR romance game or he really enjoys Ms. Jenner’s company remains to be seen and haters, I totally understand that this is clearly none of my business and has no material effect on my real-world life whatsoever.

But what we do see clearly is that they are both so obvious about really “selling” it, true love or not. Pitching the romance is the point, not the romance itself.

It’s just business, baby. Even if it isn’t, they seem to be making the effort to make it look like that.

And that’s what’s so icky to me.

Authentic relationships forged by simple mutual admiration and affection don’t generally need press releases and repetitive articles reminding everyone every two weeks for months on end that they’re just “casual” and getting to know each other and have no time to be seen together, but are seen together nonetheless, but only in cryptozoological aerial drone film footage, or in driveway games conveniently snapped by paparazzi, and up until yesterday, from only Ms. Jenner’s point of view, these two people who attract the whole world’s attention wherever they go, in order to grow and thrive.

Maybe I’m just being cynical, Anon, but I get less than sincere vibes from all the ludicrous cloak-and-dagger PR shenanigans surrounding this burgeoning alliance seemingly designed specifically to grab the public’s attention.

Couldn’t they have just lived their lives, neither hiding from the press nor pandering to it, to let love blossom in a less contrived way? Being spotted out at dinner, hanging out with friends, or a multitude of other more ordinary things couples do, even famous ones, when getting to know each other would’ve negated the need for all that artificially-enhanced press coverage that no one ever asked for.

I think they would have more support from the public had they not so ham-handedly manipulated the situation in the hopes of guaranteeing this specific sort of attention. It is indeed hilarious and kind of sad tbh that these two grown adults seem to think that no one will notice that they’re playing these games.

It’s almost like they want us to know it’s all a game. 🤔🤔🤔

Behold! The Havoc Rover!

I’m gonna take some better pictures in the morning with better light and a clean table, show some of the process too, but! Here it is! This is what I’ve been working on instead of writing (and… other stuff I should be doing). It is for a fic though - this is the modified starfighter Crosshair acquires in Rescue on Tatooine. Now that I have the model done, I have no excuses for not finishing the last… few sentences, probably, of the fic itself.

Fun fact: The guns are made from toothpicks, because that’s what I had close by that fit the size etc that I needed, and because this is Crosshair’s ship - how could I not?
