Miscellaneous beings, I introduce you to the Striil off all my Star Wars fics. They are designed to be somewhat similar to dogs, yet give you a somewhat uncanny feeling. They are all six legged, can all fly, and all smell like dog. 

The text and Striil types are as follow;

Top left - War Striil. Heavy set, short glide, big bite.

Second left - Running Striil. Fast and small, short hair, light weight, hard turner.

Second right - Vhetter (farming) Striil. Versatile, good companion.

Top right - Hairless Striil. Gentlest, excellent glider, can't stand extreme temperature.

Think of the closest dogs breeds to those characteristics, and you’re probably on the money for the inspiration. What other animals did I use to make them, I wonder...

A very important wake-up ritual for Sponge is to play with Beautiful's very pliable and squishy jowls. They are absolutely transfixed by them. So it's not unusual, whenever Sponge actually does sleep in their own bunk in the barracks, to see them leaning off their bunk to play with a very unbothered Beau's face.

I saw a picture of some kind of mastiff dog getting it's jowls played with to show off just how saggy and loose the skin folds were, and my god I just had to draw Beautiful getting her cute lil face squished and pulled. She doesn't mind the free massage.

I’ve decided to post all of the progress here as well, not just on instagram. Some people have asked to be tagged once I post some progress, but I can’t remember who they were. So if you wanna see future progress, let me know and I’ll tag you!

This one may not look too different from the previous one, but nothing really turned out the way I intended to.

The colors, the textures, the focus, the sounds, the camera, everything just seems so off, and oh boy the animation… this is the result of rushing and not knowing what I’m doing, just inserting keyframes, tweaking the graph editor and hoping for the best. So maybe signing up for this project wasn’t a great idea after all lol. Plus the datapad’s not even fully textured, you can literally see where I started adding details on the front, then for some reason I just left off lol

One thing I’ll definitely work on in the future is the menu itself, because if this project is for a graphic design thesis, then I might as well try to make the only thing that has something to do with it look more presentable. I’ll definitely be changing up the fonts, and I have some other ideas for the background as well.

But for now, I’ll move on to the remaining 5 character menu animations. Originally there were gonna be 5, not 7. At first I was randomly picking out the characters I wanted to make one for, then I realized, it’d probably be best, if each squad got one animation. The 501st gets Rex, the 212th gets Cody, the CG gets Fox, the 104th gets Wolffe, and the 241st gets Tukk. CF99 got Hunter but I really wanted to make one for Tech as well, since modeling and texturing him took the longest 💀

Once all of that’s done, I can finally move on to animating the trailer video. Which I’m terrified of, but oh well lol

a fun idea for a star wars verse fic would just be of a Nubian bird that was hatched on Coruscant (always had a wild heart ofc) who happened to see a holo through someone’s window of a forest and said kriff this polluted trash heap I want freedom and proceeded to stow away on different ships that were leaving the planet until it found a place it liked and wanted to stay on. All around hijinks ensue when all the people going offworld are travelling to weird uninhabitable places like Mustafar and Lola Sayu and Mon Cala and don’t go anywhere else unless it’s returning to Coruscant and no matter how many times the bird changes its strategy or waits for the ship’s course to change since every location is new and different, it never comes to a decent planet to settle down until finally one of the pilots of one of the many ships finds the bird and makes friends with it and helps it make its way back to Naboo where it can finally be wild and everything feels right and at the end of the story it’s chirping loud, happy chirps beside a lake in a quiet, wooded grove across the water from a lovely house where Anakin and Padme are on vacation with the twins. Anakin tilts his head with a contemplative look as he listens. “That’s a freedom song.” He says to no one in particular.

Bonus points if the prequels squad makes goofy cameos every few scenes because they’re bad at being ignored.
