Her favorite spot to sleep is on this glass or on the branch. She spent all day sliding down and climbing back up. I’m going to get a hide that attaches to the glass so she can perch on or climb in that spot she has decided is her favorite.
What is Leatherhead and Koya like in the Might Mutanimals AU? Also is there any romance in the AU? (I would have asked if that one ship is cannon in the AU but then I realized your the queen of that ship lmao)
Leatherhead is the oldest and wisest of the group. He basically like the dad of the team, though he isn't the leader, he takes care of everyone and keeps them safe, cooking meals for everyone and such. He was the one who founded the team and had everyone meet. Him and Slash kind of have adoptive father and son relationship.
Leatherhead was human before his mutation his name being Jack Kurtzman, he was actually a talented doctor and was married, but after he was captured and experimented on by some strange creatures who had the possession of a mysterious green ooze, Leatherhead left that old life behind. He hasn't been in contact with his husband since he went missing and was mutated so LH's husband is convinced he's dead. In truth LH is fearful of how his husband will react to seeing him now being a terrifying mutant alligator monster. Leatherhead tries not to let his mutation get in the way, despite his towering and intimated nature, he's very gentle and kind, continuing his career as a doctor by being a medic for the mutanimals team and also running a community shelter for mutagen bomb victims. LH is very hardworking, serious, supportive of his friends, a rule follower and very strict. I based his personality on Raymond Holt from Brooklyn 99
Koya is a character I change a bunch compared to her IDW counterpart cause in truth, there's so much potential and none of it was used right which resulted in her not being a good character (in my opinion). Unlike Leatherhead, Koya was an animal turned mutant, so she was never a human. In the beginning she HATED herself because of her mutation and hiding herself away from everyone. She's a loner (or at least claims to be one) but deep down she really wants friends, but struggles to make any because she lacks social cues. Since she was formally an animal, Koya is very curious but cautious about everything in the world, which can result in her being hostile towards things or people she does not understand just yet, but is a quick learner. Koya is the most intimidating of the team, often her mere presence alone causes her teammates to have a chill run down their spines. To describe her personality, I'd say she's stoic, but gloomy deep down, closed off and can have a temper if you push the right buttons. She's based on a mix of Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn 99 and Mai from Atla.
As for romance, there's only TWO couples in this spin off so far that I have planned (Three if you count Leatherhead and his husband):
Slash x Alopex and Mona Lisa x Raphael
Slash and Alopex is a ship I created for the 2012 series so I brought it back for this story. Their relationship I guess you could say is the more "main focused ship", think of it like Robin and Starfire from Teen Titans (2003). Romance is not the primary focus of storytelling but they are usually the go to. A friends to lovers mixed with "will they, won't they?" Everyone knows they like each other, it's just all on the WHEN is it gonna happen??
And of course if I'm gonna do a TMNT story I gotta add my OTP! I am the queen/captain of this ship after all! LOL But yeah, though the Ninja Turtles in this story only make little cameos from time to time, Mona Lisa is in a secret relationship with Raphael. That is actually how Raph is introduced. One of the Mutanimals spies on Mona (maybe Mondo Gecko cause he's nosey) cause they put together that she's hiding something and soon discovers that she has a secret boyfriend and it's Raphael.

Last TV show watched: Danny Phantom. It counts.
What are you wearing right now: black tanktop with shorts
When did you create your blog: 2014, I think.
What kind of stuff do you post: Memes, politics, shitposts, fanfic and fanart and metas. Someday, I’ll post my own fanart but...a lot of it has to do with ocs and bc I usually leave stuff as WIPs, I’m anxious about committing myself or feeling like I have committed myself to just freely share.
Do you have any other blogs: nope.
Do you get asks regularly: Not really. Maybe one or two every couple of months.
Why did you choose your URL: I needed a change from Mooncloudpanther and wanted something more voltron-y and slightly different from what I had originally been thinking.
Hogwarts House: Slytherin, or Ravenclaw. I’m considered 52/48.
Pokemon team: I joined Mystic for my brother when I joined but in my heart and soul I’m Instinct.
Favorite color: ...black or purple.
Average Hours of Sleep: ten to twelve hours and I need all of it. If I get any less, I am dead to the world falling asleep six hours ahead of schedule.
Lucky Number: Twenty-three.
Favorite CHARACTER(s): Shiro, Keith, and Allura from Voltron: Legendary Defender; Barnaby Brooks Jr. from Tiger and Bunny; Starfire and Raven from Teen Titans; Sephiroth, Cloud Strife, Zack Fair, Aerith Gainsborough, and Yuffie Kisaragi from Final Fantasy 7; Ravus Nox Fleuret and Ignis Scentia from Final Fantasy 15; Yuna and Lulu from Final Fantasy 10 (but honestly can someone give Lulu actual clothes please).
How Many Blankets Do You Sleep with: One right now, but I was sleeping with a three, and then two, blanket system.
Dream job: I want to be a published and well-liked author someday.
Starfire pretending to be a branch. So let’s talk about her appearance,
So today I learned more about morphs, and someone far more educated than me was able to tell me her morph.
Starfire is a harlequin, but her pattern on her sides and legs is more faded than most. This means at an initial glance most would assume she is a flame morph. But the above upside down photo shows off the pattern that is often hard to spot.
Another thing about her appearance is she has a scar on her lower back. This is not surprising, the previous owner bought her from a rescue group. Perhaps next time I’ll talk more about buying her and meeting her previous owner.
Meet Starfire (named by my grandma) my new crested gecko!
Experts in groups I joined to learn more about the species tell me her ‘morph’ (colors and characteristics) are Cream Flame Pinstripe.
That picture is when I first saw her at the Show Me Reptile Show. I took pictures of cresties who I thought showed signs of a personality I liked. I prioritized personality over all else, which is why I failed to learn her morph from the previous owner!
I left her alone most of yesterday to learn her home. I wanted her to be able to relax. She ate a decent amount from her bowls.
This morning while I straighten some decor she dislodged, she briefly jumped onto my hand before moving to a branch. I’m very pleased I was right about her not being skittish. She also let me pet her briefly before casually moving away when she no longer wanted to interact.
Watered plants in the enclosure last night so she’s all fired up today.
While I am not an expert, I suspect this is an instinct regarding blending in with her surroundings: when branches are wet, they are darker.
She also fires up every night: the time of day when everything is darker and she might be scavenging in the leaf litter for fallen fruits and stray bugs in tbs wild.
Fun fact about crested geckos: they eat their shed! Not all reptiles do this, but in crested geckos it’s a well known behavior. These pictures suck because I was trying not to disturb her too much.
I do think the way it curls back on her head is kinda funny.
The only reason I was prepared to take pictures was I noticed her rubbing her nose against things shortly after lights out.
So. On to more talk about Starfire and Sammy, and their differences in personality.
Having two reptiles with vastly different personalities has helped me get a feel for what reptile taming requires. Mostly patience.
Even if a reptile is well socialized you must be patient when you first bring them home. A week and a half after bringing her home was the first time she chose to climb onto me.
See, I avoided interacting with Starfire until she wanted to. I would bring food and hold my hand near her, make sure she sees me, and occasionally if she clearly saw me and was not turning away, I might give a light stroke. If she seemed unhappy with contact like moving away, I stopped. The above picture is from her jumping on me when I was fixing a plant she disturbed. Below is her jumping to my wrist and climbing up me after I set food down.
Sammy my uromastyx is not a friendly reptile. But he is a lot better than when I started. When I first got him he constantly hid and avoided me. In time he learned to associate me with the delivery of food, so would watch me bring food to him.
He does not like to be picked up. One of my big mistakes in winning him over was getting a huge top opening aquarium instead of a custom front open enclosure. Things coming from above is scary to many reptiles, especially small ones.
Another thing I needed to consider was their individual needs. Uromastyx need extremely hot basking areas. When I handled him it was cool and he did not like that. The best handling session I ever had with him was when I wanted him to get some natural uv rays and put a leash on him to take him on the deck on the hottest day of the year. Eventually I got him to bask laying on my hand but he was still extremely jumpy and skittish. He may end up needing a home where he has an enclosure in the main room so he can get used to people better. But that’s a thought for when he’s not brumating through winter.
Quick addition: Handling Sammy is rare and almost exclusively for health reasons like checking his weight, checking a shed that may be stuck on toes, or this and one other session in natural light. He doesn't like it, so I avoid it unless necessary for his well being.
