p much every mainline-connected marvel videogame or those outsourced cartoons end up being mediocre anyways but i get annoyed how bucky's always either not in the IP-ed games or everyone has such superficial personalities and character adaptations that they never have him interact with steve much or in any meaningful way, which is weird bc why even use the IP at that point?

anyways, im just wondering when marvel's gonna see all the critical acclaim bill and frank got from that show and realize that audiences will clap for even a crumb of old men soulmates. its easy money to just sprinkle it into everything that has their IP, those videogames, cartoons, comics, shows, movies. money on the table idk why they still don't take it

I feel that it is fair to be annoyed. If you're consuming the content with knowing the background of past Marvel conent, I get how it can be disappointing. It's gone downhill as they begin to care more obviously about money than the characters themselves.

I don't really know anything about what is happening in Marvel because I don't look at basically any current Marvel content because... well, a lot of reasons, but among them are those out-of-character changes to no-homo Steve and Bucky's relationship you mentioned. I mean, I am thrilled for Sam getting to be Cap. It's a long time coming to have a person of color in that iconic role. But. Just. I'm not expecting great things from Marvel itself because they don't even fucking let their actors do their fucking jobs! Mackie will be great because he's great. But, there's only so many strings to pull on when you hardly know the script.

And as for why they don't even give us crumbs of stevebucky content...

It's about the 🤌🏻homophobia🤌🏻

Like, sure, Marvel would get more money from stucky fans (and likely from queer people generally because we're starved for queer representation in mainstream media), but then they'd lose money from all the conservative, homophobic people and all the people who care about not pissing off (or "offending") those conservative, homophobic people. So. There's no way they'd ever do that 🙃

I’m very intrigued about this one 👀

hi sandy!! so as you probably already know, i'm a huge fan of steve & bucky, and when i first started shipping byler i couldn't help but notice how many similarities their story shared with stevebucky, and the little goblin in my brain encouraged me to start writing a retelling of CA: TWS (movie of all time) but with the ST characters, starring:

mike as steve (the paladin, knight in shining armor)

will as bucky (possession arc & brainwashing arc)

max as natasha

lucas as sam

the first half of the fic will be centered around the friendship between mike and max (and later lucas) and the second will be more focused on mike and will, like the original film. of course, it wouldn't follow the plot exactly, since i do want to incorporate henry, brenner, and hawkins lab into the story, as well as add a few more scenes to explore mike's mental state once he comes out of the ice and adjusts to modern life, but most of the major beats of the movie will stay the same and most importantly, will and mike's emotional bond will be given the respect it deserves 😤 (and a happy ending ofc)

i also wanted to switch things up a bit and give peggy's role in the story to nancy (non-romantically, obviously 😅) since peggy's conflict about not being taken seriously as a woman in her workplace is very similar to what nancy faced in s3, and i think it would be more impactful for mike to have a platonic, familial bond from the past.

i wish i could give you a snippet, since i actually have the iconic 'who the hell is bucky will' scene fully written, but it's on my other laptop, which is currently being repaired 😭 but i do have this little concept that i wrote a while ago, if you're interested in reading it :')

The FSBC is celebrating our ONE YEAR anniversary this month! 🥳🎈🎉🎊

Back in the beginning, we used to read things in a very structured way but now, as we've grown to know each other, we are more go with the flow. Hello! Literally just started following you and I'm aready in love. It's so refreshing to see someone in the stevebucky fandom who doesn't worship (or even like really) the actors and is able to separate them, not to mention the army of peggy stans who are on the rise, who diminish the importance of comic steve and mcu sam. I can't help but agree with every word you say, as former mcu stan and current mcu hater who still loves the cap quartet dearly. Do not get me started on the performative white feminism on pushing Cap Peggy down our throats (and in MoM where they introduce openly queer woc. I did't see Mom bc I refuse to support Mcu any longer but I doubt her being a raging lesbian is even mentioned, and she's a literal child so it's not like we'll see her happily flirt with every female character like she does in the comics. It's very obvious that the new wave of mcu stans are mostly just the Rat's fans and never even touched the comics which are, while also sometimes problematic, much more diverse and deep dive into their characters instead of cheaping them down so they can appease to your average yt us straight viewer

NOT TO MENTION I always thought America Chavez was... afro latina? And as a person of romani heritage, I take great offense to Wanda and Elizabeth Olsen, but that's another topic of its own. anyways, thank you for your posts!

before MoM even came out there was a tweet from film updates on twitter talking about how the movie had been banned in a few countries for including a queer relationship on screen (america’s mothers) and a prominent queer character (america whose sexuality was only alluded to by the little pride pin on her jacket) and almost all of the quotes and replies were people joking about dr. strange being gay for ironman or wanda being a gay icon and maybe it’s just because i’m a hater but i got so fucking irritated that no one was acknowledging the actual lesbian of color who was in the movie .. even if it was just for the jokes (which were all about white characters being gay because they hate acknowledging poc can be queer) and having seen MoM (with my friend’s free ticket because i would not have paid for it otherwise) most of the people are ignoring america completely, or blaming her for ‘contributing to wanda’s suffering’ as if wanda doesn’t spend the entire movie trying to kill her. like what ? AMERICA IS A CHILD 😭 but yeah, in MoM they also have this entire bit where it’s revealed the the multiverse worlds have numbers and guess what number the mcu is …. 616. it’s such a fucking joke considering the fact that the mcu is nothing like half of their supposed comic sources, and especially fucked up because this movie prominently revolves around mcu wanda who we all know is VERY VERY VERY VERY UNLIKE HER COMIC COUNTERPART aka one of the most whitewashed characters with erased heritage in the mcu and that’s saying something because the mcu loves changing characters that way. even when cast poc for poc roles they choose lighter skinned people most of the time. very odd of them … i also find it very odd that a lot of #stuckies are now championing mcu wanda as their queen (after saying they didn’t like her being whitewashed) just for slicing captain carter and are also pretending to be outraged on sam’s behalf because of her live action inclusion when i have seen half of them shit on sam before for the benefit of bucky. it’s like their hate for peggy is so strong they think about her more than they do the characters they actually like/love using other characters as a tool to fuel their hatred of her and TRUST ME i don’t like that woman either but 😭 the irony of being enraged that sam is being put to the side in favor of the white woman while also only caring about sam when the white woman is involved … mcu stans have no brains i SWEAR and that is why i only care about what happens to a very select few characters at this point. thank you for your kind words and making me feel sane 🫂 america chavez and comic amerikate i will avenge you ….

So, I would say for TFA the bar scene and reprise: I absolutely love the sexual tension of the first and the contraposition with the second; for TWS definitely the Steve/Bucky first fight scene on the street (it's so ICONIC!!) and then the Helicarrier scene: the emotions there are on another level; for CW the apartment scene for the same reasons above, and, finally outside of the SteveBucky dynamics, I like T'challa resolution with Zemo. :3
