Content Warning: MAJOR spoilers for Persona 5 Royal. Ann Takamaki:

-If you manage to get with Ann of all people, fuckin' major props to you. You got yourself a literal model, nevermind the trauma/nervousness she probably has when it comes to relationships thanks to Kamoshida.

-Hope you're not one who sunburns easily, because you got yourself a ray of sunshine. Delete that joke, that was stupid.

-Ann has officially decided to make it her life's mission to make every day she can brighter for you and it will be your problem.

-Favorite dates of hers include going to Odaiba, mostly for the ferris wheel, going to the underground mall, whether for actual shopping or window shopping, and of course hitting up whatever sweets store you two can find. She'll usually pay due to her modelling giving her more money than the average high school student, and she insists because of this.

-Ann is all for physical affection, she is all over you every chance she gets. Cuddles, kisses, spooning, you name it. You MIGHT get some PDA out of her but not a lot, unless she just gets one of those sudden bursts of confidence out of seemingly nowhere.

-At home dates work for her too. She's totally on board with snuggling up on the couch absolutely drowning in blankets to watch a movie. Bonus points if the two of you fall asleep together just like that.

-As for the more...explicit parts of a relationship, the kind that hormonal teenagers get the most excited over...yeah Kamoshida did some serious damage on that front. If you wanna do that with her, it's going to take a while before she builds up the confidence to wanna explore that. You'll have to bring it up in conversation first, though.

-It is not an uncommon occurrence for you to find some sort of sweet treat on your desk as you go into school in the morning. Nothing big, just a little something Ann found while out in town that made her think of you.

Makoto Niijima

-Ahh, the student council president. Calm, composed, put together, and has zero idea what in God's green Earth she's doing when it comes to an S/O.

-If she was being completely honest she barely has any idea how she managed to even get an S/O in the first place, but she certainly won't be caught complaining. It's nice to know she has someone she knows she can count on for a change. At least anyone that's not just her sister.

-Makoto is the type to show affection in subtler ways, namely through worrying about you. Your grades, your health, your diet, she makes sure you're on top of it. It could come off as overbearing at times, but she does it to show she cares about you.

-She's much more of the shy type when it comes to more direct displays of affection. The subtle brushing of her hand against yours before it eventually rests on or holds it, her head on your shoulder as you two are sitting together. It'll take a bit before she becomes more confident to show how she really feels, but however she does it, watching the normally cold, professional student council president unwind like that is always quite cute.

-Take her to see an action movie, particularly a Yazuka movie, and she's super engrossed in it, no matter how much she blushes and stutters as she tries to initially deny it. If you're a fan of those movies too, that's even better for her.

-Study dates are a regular occurrence. If your grades aren't looking the best, Makoto is about to come in clutch and save you, whether you like it or not. She won't really be mad though, as long as you show you're at least trying your best.

-Outside of that though, she much prefers dates at your place or hers. Watching a movie, making dinner together, and just in general talking about whatever comes to mind. It's a very cozy, homely atmosphere.

Futaba Sakura

-The social shut-in neet. The only shot you're having at a relationship with Futaba is if you're a Phantom Thief. Otherwise you will have no idea she exists.

-You thought Makoto was nervous going into a relationship? Yeah you haven't seen shit yet.

-Your first order of business in this relationship would pretty obviously be getting Sojiro's approval. Being a Phantom Thief and helping her get out of her room is a nice start, at the very least. Once you've proved yourself to him though, you've secured yourself the ultimate wingman.

-It's going to take quite a bit of convincing to take Futaba out somewhere. Your best bet would be Akihabara too look at all the tech stuff, video game/anime merch, and other general nerd things. All the while she's attached to you at the hip of course. If you leave her sight for even a second she'll never forgive you. At least that's what she says, anyway.

-Most dates are obviously going to be indoors, whether in her room or at Leblanc. Watching anime, playing video games, just about what you'd expect. All the while she'll nerd out about lore/story and teach you anything you're confused on or show some super cool tech in whatever video game you're playing, after thoroughly trouncing you, of course. Will probably make jokes about being your sensei and stuff like that.

-A fun little trick to do is to peck her cheek when you're playing something together to catch her off guard. She'll go red as a beet as her brain completely stops working, after which she'll accuse you of cheating. She'll try to eventually show affection herself in similar ways though she'll get super shy about it and act like it didn't happen. It's pretty freaking cute.

-Also she will 100 percent borrow your clothes without your permission, no matter how oversized they are. She has commandeered your entire wardrobe.

Haru Okumura

-What. A. Sweetie.

-If you're aiming for a relationship with this heiress, you're gonna have to play the long game for a bit. When you were about to be married to Sugimura you'd probably need a break from anything romance related for a while as well. Once Haru does feel ready enough to give relationships a try again with someone she actually cares about it's really something.

-Haru is the soft kind of girlfriend, both figuratively and literally. She treats you with nothing but patience and kindness, and trusts you more than anyone else. She does anything she can for you and will push aside anything and everything if you're ever in need.

-Cuddles with her are soft, fluffy, and warm. It's almost like a sheep, you could stay like that with her for hours.

-Her favorite type of date is naturally anything involving gardening. If you're inexperienced with this sort of thing, Haru is more than happy to teach you everything you need to know. Ask her to do so and the smile on her face could replace the sun.

-The easiest way for her to show affection is through gifts. She's the heiress of one of the largest companies in the world, she has more than enough to spend on you and then some. If you say anything about something cool you want when in her general vicinity you'll be getting that same thing not even a week later. To be frank, you'll probably need to be careful when talking about that sort of stuff, she will have zero inhibitions when it comes to gift giving.

-And don't even get me started when things like Valentine's Day, Christmas, and god forbid your birthday roll around lmfao.

-Whether it's at home baking sweets, spending time a cozy cafe out in Shinjuku, or at a restaurant so fancy that you feel underdressed no matter what you wear, Haru is down for all of it. The only detail that matters to her on a date, and her life in general is that you're there.

-And for the love of God do not let this woman drive, you are gambling with your fucking life.

Sumire Yoshizawa

-A relationship with Sumire would probably start out...awkward. Especially if you knew her while she was posing as Kasumi.

-A lot of guilt and low self-esteem will make the relationship a work in progress to begin with. An S/O of hers will need to be there for her and assure her that she is enough. They're in love with Sumire, not the image and identity of Kasumi she placed upon herself.

-It won't be forever, though. She'll eventually bounce back, knowing that she needs to be there for you like you are for her.

-Sumire is loyal above all else. You showed your loyalty when your stuck by her through such a strange, confusing and difficult time in her life, and she's damn well gonna make sure she returns the favor.

-It'll take a while for her to warm up to it, but she is all in for physical and verbal affection. Anything to show just how much she loves you. Just not in public...

-Sumire would definitely work best with an S/O that praises her for everything she does. It gives her a warm, fuzzy feeling inside and makes her feel satisfied.

-She'd definitely be the type to want to push you to be your best self, physically and mentally. She knows what the latter is like more than anything else and doesn't want you to fall into the same trap. Physically active dates are her forte. A jog around the park in the morning followed by a good breakfast at a restaurant somewhere and she's in Heaven.

-Speaking of which, you better have a good amount of money on hand whenever you go out on a date, lest you run the risk of her draining it dry on food. She'll at least have the decency to know when it's better to stop most of the time but when she gets going, she really gets going, especially if you have a hearty appetite yourself.

-You're naturally sure to catch her gymnastics competitions, whether online or in person. It serves as a motivator for Sumire. Knowing you're watching from somewhere really gives her that extra drive to do her best. You're the reason she's gotten this far, she won't let you down as long as she has something to say about it. Not just in her dreams to be a world class gymnast, but in her entire life.

And it really hesitant overall to accept that it’s true

(probably due to her relationship with her family and how tense things got after her dad died,,,, also all the student council stuff LOL)

But once you help her get over her fears, except to hear it every once and a while from her too!

Futaba Sakura

Really, she’ll probably like freeze up for a good while when processing what you said

And once the cogs finally get to spinning in her brain she’ll probably freak the fuck out lol

You might even get pre-socialization Futaba back tbh

She’ll be blushing really hard, waving her hands a lot, and probably shouting

And it’ll definitely take a lot to calm her down enough to get her to talk to a normal volume

And by she’ll probably ask you if you really meant it

And naturally you’d say yes because you do

But even though she accepted that “I love you” it’ll take her a little bit to say it back

But just have some patience! It’ll all be worth it in the end :]

Sumire/Kasumi Yoshizawa (but really Sumire)

She would be pleasantly surprised!

Would definitely would get a little flustered

Especially since it came out of almost nowhere one day

And was said so passionately

But probably the most ready to say “I love you too” back

Like almost instantly- and accompanied by a big hug too

And from then onwards, might be the one who says it first all the time

Probably uses it a bit more casually compared to other people

But will also have a lot of moments when she says it and she really really means it

Just overall, a bit more prepared to receive this type of affection despite everything she’s been through

This girl WILL know your clothing size but by a simple glance and go "you want me to dress you?" You don't have to answer that question you WILL be bought clothes along with other things you like

She likes leaning into you, smirking a bit and whispering in your ear "we should kiss" "!" your face is as you turn around and look at her of course you give in using a book to cover the views of other students,Ryuji, or you'll just look at her shocked. Either way she still ends up satisfied one way or another

She likes when you come to shoots with her. Happy when she's posing and she just sees you throw a little thumbs up, it's always lifts her spirits.

She will not let you leave without her. You could be getting ready to go and she'd just "where are you going?" "Home, my mom called I told you" "take me with you!" "You're already home though" "Home with with you wait here lemme get dressed!" You had to explain to your mom the sudden guest

She's bragging about you. Alot. If she feels like she can't go a day without telling Ryuji "they made me breakfast I love them so much" she thinks of you so much it almost scares her when you tap her shoulder. "Ann?" Joker and Sojiro WILL run a check on you as soon as Futaba isn't there. You date her you must answer these dubious 5!! As much as the intense looks were exchanged turned to "wadya think" looks back and fourth little to say that approved

She's sending you everywhere with her! You're having dates every week and will almost straight up refuse to let her pay

Very affectionate and often likes showing pda, if you aren't much of a fan it's alright she'll be minimal with it or just stop all together. She does like laying her head on your shoulder while your walking together

Interested in watching shows you like and talking about them she's gonna come up to you and be like "you haven't watched this scene yet?" She doesn't spoil it but it's incredibly tempting to just to get your reaction.

She dosent insist but she loves hand holding in public. She tries not to squeeze too hard but your hands are so warm! When you initiate the hand holding it just makes it so much better.

Refuses to let you sleep in another room. If you so dare to say "you have the bed ill sleep on the couch" expect the very momment you drift to sleep to be lifted off the couch and with her to the bed. If you ever so dare to wake up and try to leave the girls gripping you tight "where are you going?" Her voice is so soft almost distracts from the fact you might need a doctor after this squeeze. "Stay here I don't wanna be left alone with all the plushies" she rubs her face into your back, seeing no other option you slept there.

She daydreams of you SOOOO much. It's crazy she thinks of you so much she finds It hard to focus. She'd think it's embrassing she thinks of you so much but then she'd imagine you brushing her hair to the side and going "you look wonderful today Sumire" girls brain just BOOM

If you'd ever dare to say you haven't eaten, she'll open her bento and offer a bit of it to you. "I don't see why you can't have some?" "Sumire...I don't like sausages" "don't worry there's rice" "you really don't have to"

She wants to try and play a sport with you. Don't wanna run? Table top tennis! Or maybe darts! She will need encouragement, but is super good

She likes asking out on just outings in shibuya to just "I'm watching my senpai's right now wanna see if they'll put their rivalry aside and be normal?" You go with her no matter the reason the only time this back fired was when akechi recognized you and tried to get you to settle if vegans eat animal crackers

She won't tell you when she has an issue that much. Unfortunately for her, you notice quickly hugging her or patting her head. She won't tell you, but she loves when you do this. It's comforting knowing she doesn't have to say a word and you'd be there

Persona 5 Thieves x Reader

Cuddling and what they're up for

Ren/Akira is mostly indifferent with it, but bro is down for anything. Snuggles? Sure. Basic cuddles? Of course. Lap cuddles? Fuck it why not. And he's damn good at it too. Protagonist power goes nuts.

Ryuji is kinda nervous about it at first but he gets used to it. Sleeps on your shoulder at least weekly and at most after five weeks.

(Platonic) Morgana is a cat. Daily.

Ann is the type of girl to say she likes to cuddle and only knows basic cuddling. You hold her and she holds you. She's alright at it, but it's her voice that does it in. It just feels so soothing.

Yusuke sees cuddling as an art form once you introduce him to it. You two will cuddle in the most extravagant poses for no reason. Not much else to it.

Makoto is incredibly inexperienced and incredibly nervous. But when she learns you will get lap cuddles all day. She likes to play with your hair and it's instantly relaxing.

Futaba is just all over you, she loves it. Whether it's because she had a stressful day or what have you. You are always the big spoon, no objections. She falls asleep instantly.

Haru is avid in cuddling. She reads a lot of romance books so she knows a thing or two. She's strong, but gentle. She is always the big spoon and whispers sweet nothings in your ear. She'll ask if you want her to give you head scratches or anything while she holds you. 10/10.

Akechi is... an interesting case. Pancake boy Akechi is always willing, but Murder Death Akechi will tell you no, straight up. He's a Two Face. Depends on the day. He holds you protectively even though there's nobody but you and him. You will not escape.

Sumire is a mix of Ann and Makoto. Super nervous at first, but says she likes to yet only knows basic cuddling. Her voice helps too, it sounds really sweet. That and she'll give you positive affirmation.

Of course! I tried my best since it's been some time since I last played persona 5, I hope you enjoy these headcanons!

♡ Loves to spend time with you whenever you both have free time.

♡ Whether it is going to the movies, or shopping, she doesn't care what you two do, as long as she gets to spend time with you.

♡ Takes you along with her to her photo shoots, where you show her your support, which helps her get through any stressful situations that could arise.

♡ She gifts you candies and any kinds treats, and she keeps track of any allergies that you may have so she can make sure she doesn't get anything that can be a hazard to your health.

☆ Usually you two spend time together through study sessions/dates since she is usually busy with homework and student council (and phantom thieves stuff).

☆ Whenever she does have free time, she likes to go to the movies with you, or visit your home to do some relaxing things like playing board games or doing puzzles, just something peaceful.

☆ To help her out, you joined student council which made her happy that she is able to spend a lot more time with you. And the extra help is nice since she has to deal with a lot of stressful tasks being the student council president.

☆ She may have some trouble expressing her feelings, but luckily, you know exactly how she feels, which makes her happy that she has you in her life.

♧ With Futaba, expect a lot of gaming sessions whenever hanging out together.

♧ But as you hang out with her more, you do try to get her to spend time going out more, trying to help her become more social.

♧ You both also spend quite a bit of time at Akihabara, looking at animes for you both to watch, games to play, or mangas to read.

♧ When watching movies during a date night, Futaba loves to cuddle with you and won't let go unless you have to go home, but sometimes you end up spending the night.

♡ Loves to take you to many different places for your dates!

Ultimate Cuteness Reader - Persona 5/Royal Edition Part 3 - The Jungle of Jealousy (Part One)

Description: The reader's longtime rival forms a Palace of her own, and it's time to take action.

This part is different, since it goes into depth about the Ultimate Bully's past, and the reader's relationship with her, so the first half is pretty dark, and the Phantom Thieves' reactions don't come until the end. Reminder that the Ultimate Bully uses she/her pronouns and goes by Mizuki Okazaki

It had been a week since the incident.

It was difficult, but thanks to your partner and your friends, you finally accepted your grandmother's death and began the process of moving on.

You soon returned to school and saw your childhood bully at the entrance. You flinched as Mizuki passed by you, expecting her to hit you or push you over, but she only gave you a silent, hateful glare, one that somehow felt more personal than usual.

After asking around, you learned that she had gotten expelled for beating one of the teachers and knocking him unconscious. She already had a reputation as an insatiable, bloodthirsty beast, and hitting a teacher was the last straw.

As someone who knew her since you were both children, this was a shock. You knew she was violent, but you had never seen her fighting with a teacher. As you recall, she used to be afraid of authority, hating the thought of getting in trouble with an adult.

But once the two of you entered junior high, that changed. She went from an innocent young girl to a violent troublemaker, and you just couldn't imagine why. You tried many times to reach out to her, but she continued to push you away.

You couldn't help but feel frustrated. You used to be friends, but one day, out of nowhere, she punched you in the gut and pushed you to the ground, declaring that she never wanted to see or talk with you again. Ever since then, she continued to make your life hell, without ever offering any kind of explanation. Even you were starting to lose your patience.

All your friends, even your significant other, always told you to give up on her, that there was no way to reach out to someone like her. You were one to believe in second chances, but at this point, maybe it was time to listen to them.

You soon headed off to class, and Mizuki watched you through the window. She only scoffed to herself before walking away. She walked along the streets of Shibuya by herself before stopping at an alley.

She sat down against the wall and took a box of cigarettes out of her jacket pocket before popping one in her mouth and lighting it. As someone who was almost always fueled by anger, she finally had a quiet moment of calm, silent numbness.

Mizuki knew she wouldn't hear the end of it if her parents found out. But then again, they hardly ever asked about school or her personal life, so perhaps they wouldn't figure it out in the first place. For Mizuki, it could go either way.

She took a drag from her cigarette as her mind wandered back to seeing you in Shujin, laughing and talking with your friends and significant other. You had been gone for a week, then suddenly came back like nothing happened. She was annoyed at first, wondering what could have possibly happened for you of all people to skip school, but she stopped bothering with it quickly after.

Everyone else thought Mizuki was some sadistic bitch who tormented you for no reason at all. But the truth was, she was jealous. You had everything she ever wanted. Friends, a lover, and if not both of your parents, at least a grandmother who loved you.

She knew that wasn't an excuse for the way she treated you, but she didn't understand why she couldn't have the same luck as you. The only good thing Mizuki ever had was her older brother, who raised her in their parents' place and protected her from them ever since they were children. But even that couldn't last, and she lost him to a car accident five years before.

The week after that day had been horrible. As if losing the only person who ever cared for her wasn't enough, her father took his anger out on her, and he beat her every chance he got while shouting hateful words, words that she would internalize later on. The abuse that she was once protected from was then part of her daily life.

When Mizuki saw you again, you were trying to talk to her and make sure she was alright, to which she responded with a punch to the gut and an angry demand to never speak to her again. Her home situation combined with her grief fueled an anger she had never felt before.

To her, it felt like you were mocking her, shoving how perfect your life was in her face every time you saw her. That moment ended up inducing yet another long cycle of pain, this time between the two of you. That day marked the destruction of her once sweet, innocent self as she hardened herself and shoved her emotions deep down.

Alongside this, Mizuki began picking fights with other students, and thanks to the muscle she built up, she won every single fight and came out almost completely unscathed. Despite knowing what kind of trouble that would earn her at home, she didn't care.

She loved the excitement, the rush she felt from the action. She loved being the one in control for once, like a predator cornering its prey. This newfound addiction would earn her an infamous reputation later on, up until her expulsion.

But it didn't matter. Mizuki didn't care what happened to her anymore. She grew too accustomed to the abuse to process fear, and no one cared enough about her for her to process loneliness or sadness. She forgot the feeling of joy entirely, so that wasn't an option either.

Mizuki was little more than a shell of her former self, the broken pieces of the childhood that was taken away from her. She pretended to hate other people, but she hated herself far more. She took one final drag from her cigarette before pressing the end of it onto the wall and dropping it only the ground and returning home.

Thankfully, neither of her parents were there. Her dog came to greet her as always, but she ignored him as she walked to the bathroom and closed the door behind her. She took a look in the mirror, and she felt a flame burning inside of her as she noticed the dark circles underneath her eyes, the scar over her eye, those ugly, glowing crimson eyes she inherited from her father.

The flame grew stronger, and she clenched her fists before drawing back her arm and hitting the mirror with all her might. The floor was then covered in glass shards, and her fingers began to bleed. But she didn't care as she took out the switchblade she kept in her boot and rolled up her left sleeve, ignoring the worried whimpering from her dog outside the door.

Soon, tears fell from her eyes as she fell to her knees and began to break down, finally releasing her buried emotions. The dog began furiously scratching at the door, but Mizuki heard nothing.

Fucking worthless, she thought to herself. Everyone hates me. Why the fuck was I even born? Those bastards didn't even want me. I should've been the one in that accident...

Mizuki sat on the floor for an hour, trapped in the hatefulness of her dark mind. She eventually grew tired and fell asleep, not even bothering to clean her arm. As that was happening, her Palace begin to form, something larger and more frightful than the Phantom Thieves have ever seen.

A few hours later, you were leaving school with your significant other, and as you two parted for the day, you felt that something was wrong.

You looked down to see your rabbit plush twitch his nose. He had a way of detecting any kind of disturbance, even in the Metaverse. Subtle movements like that could easily go unnoticed by anyone else, but you knew the signals well.

You paused on your way home and stepped into a nearby alley before taking out your phone and checking the Meta-Nav. You began to wonder who could possibly have a Palace this time when you thought back to your old friend's strange behavior from earlier.

No... It can't be.

Your stomach twisted with anxiety as the realization made its way into your mind. Although you knew it wasn't unlikely, the last thing you wanted was to see your former friend's distorted desires.

You looked over to your rabbit plush, who gave you a knowing look and nodded. You took a deep breath in and prepared yourself as you put Mizuki's name into the app.

It hit.

You felt your heart sink. It was such a horrifying discovery, and yet, you couldn't be surprised. You always guessed that her hostility towards you came from a place of pain, and this only proved your theory to be correct.

The worst part was that despite knowing her for so long, you couldn't even begin to guess where the Palace was, or how she viewed it. She was so difficult to read, and she hardly ever spoke, so there weren't any hints you could think of. It was distressing to realize just how little you knew about her.

But at the very least, it provided you an opportunity. A chance to get to the bottom of Mizuki's pain and reach out to her. Figure out what you did to cause her to sever your friendship. Even though you were close to giving up on her, there was no way you could ignore this.

With that in mind, you raced to Leblanc to tell the others. You swore to save Mizuki no matter what, and you needed to find a way to reach out to her before she hurt herself or anyone else again.

Ren Amamiya/Joker

He understands, and he's ready to help

And as he discusses the situation with the others, he takes note of how uncomfortable you look

He takes your hand in his and reassures you that everything will be alright, and that he will protect you from anything the Palace has to offer

He knows that confronting your former friend's distorted desires wasn't easy, even if Mizuki hurt you

Clearly, this operation is personal to you, and he respects that

But even so, he won't allow anything or anyone to harm you, especially not Mizuki

Ryuji Sakamoto

He doesn't think it's worth it, honestly

"You actually wanna save that asshole? Why? She's done nothin' but pick on you your whole life."

He doesn't really get it, but despite everything, you still wanted to save your old friend

Plus, you also knew it probably wasn't a good idea to leave a Palace unattended

Ryuji still doesn't see the point, but he begrudgingly agrees to help

But only for your sake; he couldn't care less about Mizuki

He barely listens while the others discuss the operation, only focusing on you and trying to ease your anxiety

He acknowledges how kind and brave you are, and he swears to protect you with his life when you enter the Palace

Yusuke Kitagawa

He only gives a nod in understanding as he looks down thoughtfully

"I see... I suppose it was only a matter of time before the angry, bitter wolf would spawn her own Palace."

He's curious about what her Palace would look like, but he notices how serious you look and turns all of his attention to you

"Fear not, my dear. This is but a mere obstacle in our path to success. No matter what happens, we will destroy this vile place."

He swears to protect you, no matter how powerful Mizuki's shadow may be

Goro Akechi

He doesn't even bother to hide his contempt as he looks at you in disbelief

"You want to save that bitch? Why?!"

Mizuki has done nothing but bring you pain, but you're still thinking about her own?

Honestly, after all she's done, he has half a mind to sneak into that Palace and "take care" of her Shadow himself

But no matter how much he tried to convince you to leave her behind, you remained determined to save your friend and bring her back to her senses

Goro could see that there was no convincing you otherwise-- you could be stubborn when you wanted to be, after all

With that, he simply sighs and begrudgingly agrees to join the operation

As the others discuss the situation, he occasionally chimes in with a bitter comment about Mizuki while also subtly reminding you that it's not too late to change your mind

But you're sticking to your guns, and he's going to protect you from anything that Palace has to offer, including Mizuki herself

Ann Takamaki

She gives you a nod of understanding, but looks at you with concern, wondering if it's a good idea to bring you along

"Okay, we'll do whatever we can, but... Are you sure you wanna come along this time? I mean, Mizuki did hurt you a lot..."

You understand her concern, but in the end, it's going to be between you and Mizuki

You're the only one who knows her, and you needed to be the one to reach out to her

She's still worried about you getting hurt, but she respects it

She notices your fear and does her best to comfort you while the others go over the operation

Even though it would ultimately come down to you, Ann will be damned if Mizuki hurts you

Makoto Niijima

She stiffly nods in understanding, but she looks at you with worry

"I see, but... You don't have to do this if you don't want to. I understand how hard this is for you."

You shake your head, once again insisting that you needed to get to the bottom of Mizuki's pain

There was so much you didn't know, and it was time to break the cycle

Although reluctant, Makoto agrees to bring you with them

She comforts you when you look worried, and assures you that if Mizuki's shadow tries to harm you, she'll be subjected to her Fist of Justice

Futaba Sakura

It wasn't surprising to hear that Mizuki had a Palace, but it was surprising to hear how determined you were to save her

"Woah, hold on a sec! (Name), are you sure you don't wanna sit this one out? I mean, she did put you through a lot..."

You shake your head and insist once more that you need to save Mizuki, and Futaba remembers when you saved her from her own Palace

So she respects it, and swears to give you all the support she can offer

"Don't you worry, (Name)! I'm not letting anyone lay a finger on your adorable self, especially not that bully!"

She then reaches out and squishes your cheeks, which helps cheer you up

Haru Okumura

Very surprised to hear about the Palace, and also worries about bringing you along

"I understand that this is hard for you, but are you sure you want to join us? There's no telling what could be inside this Palace, especially for someone like Okazaki-san..."

She just doesn't want you to get hurt, knowing that Mizuki's contempt for you would undoubtedly be reflected in her Palace

But you refuse to sit back and watch as your old friend suffers, and the time has finally come to take action

Haru respects that, and she does her best to comfort you while assuring you that nothing will happen to you as long as she's there

Sumire Yoshizawa

She had only seen Mizuki a few times, and she didn't expect her to have a Palace, even though it did make sense

But considering how dangerous the Palace is likely going to be, she can't help but worry

"Are you sure you're ready for this, senpai? I mean... I can't imagine you'll see anything good."

You still refuse to back down, and Sumire can't help but admire your determination

But she asks to come along as well, to make sure you're safe

She does her best to ease your worries, and promises to protect you with all her might

Searching for the keywords wasn't easy at all. But suddenly, you remembered something you heard from Mizuki, way back when you were kids. It was back in junior high, when she was fighting her bully in the hallway and won. As Mizuki glared down at her with bruised hands and a bleeding nose, she uttered one impactful line.

"Listen. I know you're just another superficial jerk, so I'm not gonna waste my time. But soon, I'll be the one in control, and everyone in this overgrown jungle of hate will know my name."

A jungle. That had to be it. You inserted it into the Nav, and surely enough, "Jungle" was the cognition.

Now the last issue was figuring out where this jungle was.

You tried every location you could think of; Mizuki's house, Shujin Academy, even your junior high school. But nothing seemed to work. You even tried out different cities, but got nothing. After the fourth hour of this foolishness passed, Ryuji threw up his arms in frustration.

"Oh, gimme a break! We've tried Shibuya, Shujin, her house, and we can't figure out where the hell this bitch is keepin' her damn Palace! What's next, all of Tokyo?!"

As he said that, the cognition changed, and everyone looked at the Meta-Nav in shock.

"I... I've never seen anything like this before." Even Morgana was wide-eyed as he processed this.

"Huh. Looks like Ryuji and his big mouth were actually useful." Futaba remarked as she and the others turned to look at Ryuji, who was staring ahead with wide eyes and his jaw hanging open, looking more shocked than anyone in the room.

"FOR REAL?!"

Akira has a habit of picking up information offhandedly rather than asking or initially searching for it, so it’s more than likely that he’d find out before you say something to it. It’s not just because he’s a Phantom Thief, although the alternative is entirely possible because even he has things slip past him. He tends to overhear things (he likes to use eavesdrop loosely) and is a naturally observant person, so it’s likely that he’ll catch on with some time. That doesn’t mean that he isn’t intrigued or curious if you tell him because he has this little twinkle in his eye that gives him away and it’s the cutest thing ever on top of the slight tilt of his head. He’s not always the most emotive, and so it’s important that you pick up on his smaller cues to realize he’s so interested. He’s never met someone who’s had a twin before and it’s neat to him. It’s entirely likely that he’d actually meet him while he’s navigating around or heading to school or to meet with a confidant to hangout, but he may not realize they’re not you at first. He’s aware of any differences, such as hair length or clothing, and keeps a note of it. Then it starts happening a lot more and he’s realizing that something is going on and he’s not the only one catching on because Morgana is noticing this, too, so he’ll probably outright ask you if you have a twin. Then he starts to feel guilty that he didn’t realize it wasn’t you and apologize, but mention that he’s never met someone with a twin before. It can be taken as a simple comment, but to those who know him like the back of their hands know that practically means I’ve never met someone with a twin before and I want to change that. Can you introduce me?

Intrigue regarding your twin aside, it’s important to Akira that he gets to know the people you’re close to and care for a lot, and that includes them. There is definitely question of whether or not they or someone you know has a Shadow in Mementos or a Palace, but that comes from a place of worry and being a Thief for so long. He wants to make sure that he’s on good terms with them because any tension would just be awkward, and anyone important to you is important to him. He’s very civil and it takes a bit to open up to them, and his usual silence may be a little off-putting to some so you’ll have to tell your twin that it’s nothing personal in the slightest. He definitely will open up after a bit of time and they’ll find it’s surprisingly easy to talk to him, as if he knows just what to say. Every time he parts from them and he’s walking away with you, he asks if they liked him with the most adorable spark of anticipation in his eyes. He really wants them to like him, so expect him to give some gifts because his team has always liked them and he figures that they may, too. He hopes, anyways. Eventually, they may become another confidant of his and someone he goes to for ideas regarding surprises or gifts you may like without spoiling it by asking you to your face. Imagine your twin finds out that Akira is a Phantom Thief (the leader of them, no less) before you do and he knows the dangers of associating with them. It’s because of that that he understands any worry they may have, but, with all of the seriousness in him, he promises that he’ll never let anything happen to you.

Ryuji’s not known for being the smartest person out there by any means and it could easily be considered one of his more endearing qualities, but it’s also a double-edged sword. He does have his moments where he can take people by surprise by his knowledge or his aggressiveness used to stand up for someone. It often takes him a bit of time for information to process or he genuinely doesn’t understand and needs some help following along. A topic like the Metaverse can be so bizarre and confusing, but hearing that you have a twin is something he can get pretty fast after taking a short while until he finally realizes it. It’s almost comical if the group wasn’t in collective exasperation. He thinks it’s the bees freaking knees and definitely one of the coolest things ever, if you ask him. He’s never met someone who’s had a twin before and is like a little kid: blatantly excited and foaming at the mouth with questions. Ryuji genuinely doesn’t mean any harm by asking you questions that may be a pain to answer because you’ve heard them so much, so tell him what you don’t like being asked because he’ll for sure avoid them. Learning that you have an identical twin makes this even cooler and it’s doesn’t seem possible for his eyes to sparkle so brightly in awe as he asks you question after question. Such as if twins have telepathic abilities, can feel each other’s pain, and so on. It then starts to make him wonder if he’s ever bumped into your twin in public without realizing it and then makes him feel bad for mixing you two up if he did. Ryuji is upfront about meeting them and isn’t afraid about asking if your twin would be cool with that. It’s a mix between “Holy shit I’m about to meet an identical twin. Best day ever!” and “This is my partner’s sibling, Ann said meeting them is important but I don’t really get why”.

An assumption that many people—including the Thieves—would have is that he wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between you and your twin and he’s almost offended that they would think that about him. Joke’s on them because he does a pretty damn good job of being able to tell the difference without much of an issue or so much as thinking about it. He genuinely doesn’t understand why he wouldn’t be able to pick out his partner between you and your twin; it sounds kind of silly. As mentioned, Ryuji isn’t as sentimental as his leader or some others when it comes to why he wants to meet your twin and simply sees it as meeting someone you care for and trust. He’d be the same if you ever wanted to meet his mom one day, if not real nervous because she’s someone who means a lot to him and so you two getting along is important. It should be noted that he and his casual enthusiasm can be a bit much when people first meet him so a warning might be warranted beforehand. Rather than frequently giving gifts like his leader, Ryuji likes spending time out somewhere, like getting ramen or jogging, and may invite your twin to join if you don’t mind. At the rate he yells it at the top of his lungs at, it’s more than likely that your twin will find out that he’s a Phantom Thief pretty quickly and beg that they don’t say a word. As rambunctious as he may be and not the sharpest tool in the shed, it’s clear that he cares for you more than words can express and would never do anything to put you in harm’s way.

Yusuke isn’t as outwardly emotive about his emotions as someone like Futaba, Ann, or Ryuji, but that doesn’t mean he’s apathetic or that it’s impossible to ascertain what he’s feeling. Unless he’s particularly inspired or excited about something where he’ll strike the most exuberantly dramatic pose and exclaim his newest revelations, his reactions can be subtle and may go unnoticed if you’re not paying much attention. He’s like Joker in that regard, but significantly more obvious and revealing of how he’s feeling. When you tell him that you have a twin, Yusuke does the cutest little tilt of his head and his eyes widen just a bit. It’s such a meager reaction in comparison to Ryuji or Goro’s, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t surprised, curious, or interested in this new information. He’s quick to ask if he could meet them someday if you’re alright with that (he doesn’t understand why you wouldn’t be considering you told this to him, but he figures it’s best to make sure beforehand), and poses questions about them until then. In a sense, it’s a way to gauge how close you are to them as his art career has taught him well that everyone views someone or something else in their own unique ways. Yusuke simply thinks it’s neat and also probably to prepare himself beforehand so he’s not totally lost as to how to interact with them. His lack of surprise has to do with the fact he’s met a pair of twins before at some art galleries with Madarame and a former pupil was one, but he still thinks it’s intriguing to meet someone’s literal other half. It doesn’t feel right to not express an interest in your family, either, if you’re close to them.

Yusuke has a bit of a bad habit of being underprepared for simple events for one reason or another, like blowing all of his money on sweets and losing out on his meals for awhile. Fortunately, he understands the importance of prioritizing his readiness for trips to the Metaverse, but it’s almost comical that he isn’t in the real world. He didn’t even think about bringing a gift or anything of the sort that your twin may like and would stare down at his feet like a kicked puppy, upset with himself because he’s sure that this is going to ruin their first impression of him. You’ll definitely have to reassure him that it’s not and that it’s totally okay; he’ll take your word for it, but he’s dripping in guilt. When he finally does meet your twin, he’s very polite and is able to keep up a conversation, but he’s definitely studying your twin while they speak. He may make a rectangle with his pointer fingers and thumbs and gaze between the two of you with a look that could be considered intimidating and scrutinizing when he’s merely taking notes of similarities and differences. As an artist who’s studied and practiced his craft for so long, Yusuke has an impressive and astoundingly good eye for detail. From the smallest feature to something that’s blatantly obvious, he’s phenomenal when it comes to identifying who is who if you’re identical. He’ll point out his observations if he has to, but doesn’t understand how people would have any difficulty and forgets that not everyone is as meticulous as him. Your resident artist doesn’t have any remaining family that he knows of, but he can feel his mother’s love through the Sayuri and if your love for your twin is anything like that, he can understand how important they would be to you—and him, by extension.

It’s more than likely that Goro already knows you have a twin without you so much as telling him. This is the second coming of Detective Prince—your Detective Prince—after all. He has access to all sorts of classified documents that a normal civilian could only dream of laying their eyes on that he could use to find out sooner, but he used his natural sleuthing skills as to not step on your toes. He could have easily gone through everything, learned every detail down to the tiniest line of text, but told himself that he would learn about you organically. It’s unlikely that he wouldn’t use such powerful tools to his advantage if he really wanted to, and yet he decided against it. He loves you and cherishes his relationship with you too much to risk destroying it. Goro would most likely be the one to bring up the topic to you through an inconspicuously innocent comment out of the blue over breakfast or while out and about, and that opens the door to your twin as a whole. He isn’t so much accusatory as he is curious and trying to gather as much information on them as he can from you. He’s a bit more vocal than some others are about learning about them, easily able to hold a conversation and often slipping into something affectionately called his “detective mode” by accident. Goro would listen to whatever you have to say with his undivided attention regardless of the topic, but when he sees how happy you are at the topic of your sibling, he’ll happily listen and pose questions to keep the ball rolling.

The Detective Prince has never been particularly close to any of his family that wasn’t his mother and doesn’t plan on changing that anytime soon when he’s rather put a bullet through his father’s head. While he doesn’t understand that close bond you have with your sibling, he does understand that they’re important to you and takes that and them into consideration. Silently, deep down, refusing to admit itself to you, is a paranoia that has to make sure they’re not someone he has to be careful of. He’s perfectly comfortable with simply having you in his life, but he’s not surprised by the question you pose of him meeting them. It’s only a matter of time that he does and he’ll agree after figuring out a day when he isn’t busy. Whether it be for dates or simply to spend time together (or by himself if he needs some alone time), the Jazz Club is reserved for the two of you and so bringing your twin there is not an option in his books, but he will agree to almost anywhere else. He’ll introduce himself with his usual charming smile and will make conversation for the sake of being polite, but may start to delve deeper topics that interest him if they’re something your twin shares an interest in—the definition of justice, what is right, their opinion on the Phantom Thieves, etc. He may comment on similarities shared between the two of you in a true fascination, but otherwise doesn’t ask ridiculous questions like Ryuji. Although he may reveal a fabricated personality to the world that your twin may or may not pick up on, it’s clear to them that there’s nothing more genuine than how much he cares about you and the way he looks at you full of nothing but love.

Hearing that you have a twin leaves Kasumi in a bit of surprise that unabashedly shows all over her face and she pauses for a few moments that starts to tread past comical and inch towards concerning. You’ll have to ask if she’s alright because her mind is spinning with all sorts of thoughts and it’ll snap her out of them, where she’ll respond with a nod, an embarrassed flush despite hearing only the latter half of what you said, and an apology. She’ll explain that she used to have a younger twin sister that passed away not too long ago and so the topic brought up those memories out of the blue and caught her off-guard. However! She brought that up because you’re her partner and you deserve to know about Sumire, not to dissuade you from speaking about your own. The wound her twin left in her heart is still tender and fresh—it’s probably for the best that the memories of that day are so fuzzy, as if someone had blanketed the truth to comfort her from reliving it—but she one-hundred percent understands the bond you have with your twin and would love to learn about anything you’re willing to share about them. Past the peculiar bout of frustration that bubbled in her chest and was promptly pushed away, she’s appreciative of any concern you may have for her but constantly assures you that you don’t have to worry or walk on eggshells around her. Kasumi is often so busy with gymnastics that it’s hard to make time for activities outside of school and practice and only gets a moment of reprieve on Sundays where she’s free from classes or at lunch. It’s a miracle that she was able to squeeze time with you into her hectic schedule, but she does express an interest in meeting your twin someday with a big smile that makes your heart skip a beat.

Regardless of whether or not you’re part of the Phantom Thieves, it’s crystal clear that Sumire’s started to change for the better after Maruki’s defeat. She’s slowly growing her confidence and building a sense of self-esteem, which she’s insistent is because she has you in her corner supporting her. She’s pretty different from how she was before, but she’s so authentic and herself that it’s incredibly endearing and heartwarming to see. Before she leaves for internationals, she is dead-set on meeting your twin. She promised she would before and she planned on sticking to it, even if she’s outwardly a little nervous and twice as much on the inside. Past the whole Kasumi situation, it’s really nice to meet another twin and be able to relate to things that others may not have been able to. She’s met a couple other twins in her life, but no one she’s gotten close to and she can detect a unique irony to knowing that her partner has one. Sumire’s super apologetic that she couldn’t have meet your twin beforehand and voices that, but finds it easy to befriend them and talk to them. She’s definitely going to tell your twin all sorts of stories of your dates and adventures together with a sweet giggle between getting to know them as a person, and you bet she brought some food for them. It may not be the best out there, but she tried her hardest to make their favorite dish and wrapped it in the cutest cloth of their favorite color. She doesn’t let what happened in the Metaverse slip to them, but she does mention that she wouldn’t be where she is now without you.

(Persona 5) Ann, Makoto, Haru, Futaba, and Sumire and their S/O playing a scary game

No one requested this, I just watched playthroughs of Dead Space: Extraction and Dead Space: Severed, and I am sad now. I miss that series.

Ann doesn't mind horror games, but she can get unnerved pretty quickly if the game is particularly scary.

She gets jumped very easily but quickly laughs it off.

(Ann) "AGH SON OF A-! Hah, come on that was such a cheap scare!"

It's not her cup of tea, but if its with her S/O or friends, then it'll be fun.

She brings snacks for the game night.

Ann will laugh at S/O for being scared, but the moment she takes control, she's just as scared as them.

(Ann) "Oooh no, I can't play! I gotta eat this food, you do it!"

- NOPE.

Makoto doesn't play games in general, with the sole exception of the Like A Dragon series, thanks to Futaba and S/O.

But she is so easy to frighten, especially if her and S/O are playing the game in the dark.

Makoto jumps at the slightest sound and has an iron grip on S/O as they play.

So of course she screams when a jumpscare happens.

(Makoto) "C-Can we at least turn on the lights? WAIT! I SAW SOMETHING!"

Don't give her the controller, she might crush it in her hands with how tense she is. That, and she'll refuse.

(Makoto) "Next time if we play...c-can we not do a scary game?"

Haru enjoys horror movies greatly, but being able to play one?

Now THIS is where it's at!

She watches her S/O play with great enthusiasm as she takes in the atmosphere of the game.

Haru is completely immune to jumpscares and just laughs at their feeble attempts to scare her.

(Haru) "Hm, the scares in this game are a bit lazy. I prefer when they're more subtle!"

Even though she's not great with technology, Haru absolutely will play when S/O gives her the controller. It takes a moment for her to adjust, but she'll be playing like a pro.

Funnily enough, it's only horror games where she plays well.

(Haru) "Oooh, maybe there should be a game where we play as the monster! Do you have anything like that?"

Futaba turns off the lights as she and S/O huddle on the couch.

She can get scared but laughs it off like Ann. Futaba quickly recovers from cheap scares and finds them more annoying than anything.

90% of the time, Futaba is the one who picks the games. She does pick modern choices for horror games, but she has taste, going for the classic games like Silent Hill or Resident Evil.

Stuffing her face with chips with one hand and staring at the screen, she is fully immersed for a spooky play session.

(Futaba) "Oh man, there's no way I'd have played this alone. So have fun with the controls!"

Sumire doesn't really play games or watch movies, so she's a bit new to this.

But she's willing to give it a go for her S/O.

She didn't realize how tense she would be watching the TV as she holds onto her S/O.

(Sumire) "People play games like these willingly...?"

Sumire is honestly a bit more bewildered than anything but it doesn't take much to scare her.

Overall she likes the experience solely because S/O is there and it's a way for them to bond. But she probably wouldn't play of her own volition.

At least games that don't make her heart leap to her throat.

(Sumire) "OH MY GOODNESS!"

Could we please get some headcanons on what Ann, Makoto, Futaba, Haru, and Sumire would do to celebrate their s/o's birthday? Thanks a bunch and happy birthday!

The ol' five character hitter again. Thank god this is the only fandom where this happens. Does kinda tank quality though having to do it for a full five especially since it's not my main hyperfixation anymore.

-You better believe Ann is going all out for your special day. It's only the most appropriate thing to do for her S/O.

-There was that super nice hotel buffet she and the rest of the thieves went to after they successfully changed Kamoshida's heart. You hadn't joined the group yet so that'd be a nice place to take you to.

-Even if you aren't a foodie, there's no way you're able to turn down high class food like that, especially since Ann likely spent a pretty penny to get you two in.

-After stuffing yourselves to your heart's content (and likely getting a few extra pounds you'd definitely need to work off), she takes you to Inokashira park for a peaceful stroll under the sunset.

-Soon you two sit down a bench for a break, when she gives you a small, wrapped box. Opening it up you find an attachable charm inside. The lines and finer details are a bit uneven, suggesting this was something Ann made herself.

She quickly reveals she has another one just like it on her bag to match yours, having wanted to give you something that felt unique. It was extremely heartwarming.

(Makoto's birthday is the day right after this post goes up, which means it's the day after mine.)

-Makoto is a bit anxious. She hadn't really had a proper birthday celebration, whether doing it or receiving it ever since her father died. Sae was unfortunately too busy for any of that stuff 99 percent of the time.

-Now that you two were dating, she was hoping to change that. She can't do anything extravagant but that wasn't going to stop her.

-She keeps it relatively simple. Instead of taking you out somewhere like Ann, she makes a home cooked meal from scratch and invites you over to her place.

-She'll treat you to whatever movie you want to watch from the comfort of inside and bring out the blankets, popcorn, and any other movie treats you like. Just...don't ask for a horror movie. Please.

-Makoto doesn't really have any gift ideas she's all that confident in, so she opted to instead spend the day with you and give you the attention you deserve. She hopes that through her actions she conveys how much she loves you.

-Take Makoto's nervousness/cluelessness, and double it. Now you have an idea of what celebrating someone else's birthday is like for Futaba.

-She very easily gets in her own head about what she should and shouldn't be doing for her S/O's birthday. Her birthdays even when her mom was alive were never exactly normal due to how busy she was, let alone after she died both before and after Sojiro took her in.

-After some reassurance from both Sojiro and Joker, she decides to just let it come naturally to her and be herself.

-She invites you over to her room as she usually does for a majority of your dates to play some video games and watch some shows. It doesn't have to be anime, it can just be whatever you want. She'll go at least a little easier when you're playing games too so you can have a chance at winning.

-You've most certainly been able to share most of your interests with Futaba, she wants to know about them just as much as she wants to share hers with you. This makes it pretty easy to get you a gift you'd like.

A shirt, an action figure, maybe a music album, something relating to your interest that even you probably didn't know existed. Either because it's custom made or that Futaba just really knows her way around the internet far better than you.

-You've been at a decently comfortable point in your relationship with Haru for a while now, and she is absolutely thrilled to be able to celebrate your birthday however you want.

-One might expect someone of her social standing to treat you to the highest class date money can buy, and she absolutely can, but she would much prefer something more intimate and heartfelt.

-She invites you over to her place where she has a stack of baked goods waiting for you two to share. Some ordered, some homemade. Also to offset the sheer amount of sugar, a more healthy meal she made herself, even having grown most if not all the ingredients.

-If there was anything you expressed a want to have, no matter how expensive it is, that is now your birthday gift as well. Depending on the price, your jaw is probably going to drop as Haru presents it like it's nothing with the sweetest smile on her face.

-If your appetite rivals that of Sumire and you're still hungry she's more than happy to cook/bake together with you, playfully throwing flour or water on each other and bantering. She's more than willing to get serious and teach you how to cook if needed, she likely has enough experience to do so.

-Of course no date with Haru is ever complete with the softest, warmest cuddles of your life, under a blanket together as you drift off to sleep or watch a movie. It never fails to get your heart beating faster as her smaller body buries into yours.

-Despite her demure, sweet demeanor, Sumire can be quite the go-getter due to her athletic background. This naturally translates to celebrations of any kind.

-Your wallet is thankfully spared for today as she treats you this time. It may or may not be too much for you to swallow everything down but either way she's happy. Either for the extra food or that you enjoy everything she throws at you and that you can match her appetite.

-After that, it's time for a jog around the park to work off all those extra calories. Some form of exercise is typical when spending time with her but she's lax for today as the the point is to celebrate you and the fact that you're here today. She'll be fine with slowing down to a walk too if that's more comfortable for you as you two share leisurely conversation with each other.

-She did manage to also find a decent gift for you thanks to advice from her parents. She presents you with a special, designer made perfume/cologne. Since you're working out with her so much she figured you could use something to help with the stink of doing so, and she wanted it to be something special.

-From then on you make a point to wear it on all your dates with her. She notices this but doesn't bring it up, feeling a bit too shy to do so.

Like a fluff but also angst with Kasumi / Sumire (i forgot her actual name) x Fem Reader.

as in the game kasumi found out about Joker being the phantom thieves with a couple of classmates can you make it that kasumi found about the fem reader who's in phantom thieves as well and tried calling, messaging, talking to her but the reader just ignored her not wanting to talk.

So kasumi was feeling hurt.. but an incident with a teacher makes it even worse with her grades a bit lacking because of the recent incident.

And the teacher began to threatens kasumi about her grades and stop hanging out with the reader because She's a delinquent and the fem reader was accidently earsdropped in the situation and decided to step in..

And drag kasumi away from the teacher and apologise for ignoring her and they make up for the past few weeks..

You tell yourself all the time not to get involved. It would just be more of a hassle for you. You don’t want to deal with all the emotions. You don’t want to deal with all the mess. You’re not the type to dry eyes. You’re not the type to clean up either. So why…?

“Come on Yoshizawa. Don’t listen to him. We’re leaving.”

…why are you here?

You don’t look back as you drag her by the arm, away from some nameless, faceless first-year teacher that you never bothered to meet. They’re shouting at you. Shouting at you to take your filthy hands off of Kasumi. Shouting that they weren’t done talking to Kasumi. Shouting that it’s people like you that Kasumi has to stay away from. Shouting. Shouting. Shouting. Kasumi. Kasumi. Kasumi.

Even as you turn the corner with the girl in tow and make your way down the hall and to the stairs, it continues. Seemingly louder and louder as you walk further away. Never once disappearing. Not even when you make your way up the flight of stairs. Damn it, you frown hard as you let your feet keep deciding where to go, I knew I shouldn’t have gotten involved.

A second pair of footsteps start to mirror your own as you begin to make your ascent, you couldn’t help but be reminded about how you were so determined to stay out of it. To stay away from her. And sure, you could have been better about it. Sure, if you wanted to stay away, you could have done more than what you truly did. Maybe your gazes shouldn’t have lingered on her when you would see her in the hallways. Maybe you should have just turned up your nose from the very start. And maybe you shouldn’t have eavesdropped on every little passing conversation you heard her name come up in. Hell, you shouldn’t have even eavesdropped on the conversation she was having with that teacher.

But you couldn’t help it.

All too soon, you find yourself starting in front of the door to the roof. And without hesitation, you find yourself pushing open the door and letting go of Kasumi’s arm. A breath in. A breath out. Then you push open the door to the rooftop and walk through without so much as a glance in the girl’s direction. You know why. It’s the same reason why you continued to meet her eyes, even if for only a brief moment. It’s the same reason why you would listen to the conversations about her. The same reason why you saved her from that teacher. And the same reason why you refused to block her number- even after she found out about your secret.

You couldn’t help it. You just couldn’t.

Kasumi follows you through the door. You know she would. It would be dumb of her not to at this point. But it’s even dumber of you to refuse to look at her after going through all this trouble. It’s sparsely decorated with a few desks and chairs here and there alongside just a couple of plants growing in their own little isolated spaces. Even the sky today is a less than impressive display of the color gray and some large, lumpy clouds. You can’t pretend to be distracted by some beautiful view from up here. Just like you can’t pretend that you don’t care. Because you do. You unfortunately do. So the least you could do…

“Hey, Kasumi?”

… was to try to make things…

“I’m sorry for-”

“I’m sorry, Senpai!”

…right.

This time, you really can’t help your actions. Your head whips around at the sound of her apology overlapping yours. Your eyes land on her form, and there she is- bowing at a deep angle with her hands clasped in front of her chest like the ever-so-respectful kouhai she is. She holds the positions for a few seconds of complete silence- and the whole time you felt your face grow warmer and warmer with embarrassment as she continues to show you the utmost respect type how you’ve treated her these past couple of weeks. Sometimes you wonder what would happen if you never got to know the girl in the first place. Other times, you remind yourself that you can’t change the past. Nor can you make the future simpler.

You let out a sigh as she comes out of her bow and looks up. This is it. For the first time in what seems like forever, you look at her face without the almost immediate intention of looking away. And in this long, long look the two of you share- you’re able to see signs of all the things you’ve noticed building up in the past. All the things you’ve heard whispers about. All the things you hoped really weren’t true.

The tired look in her eyes. Her almost sickly complexion. The smaller, less confident way she carries herself. It’s not the Kasumi you know. But it’s not the Kasumi you should feel responsible for either. But still, you can’t help but feel like this was partially your fault, to begin with. If only you hadn’t ignored all her messages. If only you had been more careful with your secret. If only you had never gotten her involved with you in the place. If only, this. If only, that. But you can’t change the past. You can only hope that somehow- despite everything- the future finds a way to be a bit simpler.

Somehow.

“Don’t- don’t apologize. You did nothing wrong.” You finally say, breaking the silence between the two of you once more. Your tongue feels heavy in your mouth. Your lips feel clumsy on your face. It's as if one wrong move could put you two back in the same place that you were now trying to escape. You didn’t want to go back to it. Sure you don’t like drying eyes. And sure you don’t like cleaning up messes either. But you hate being hurt. “I should be the one apologizing.”

Almost as much as you hate hurting others.

“But Senpai-!” She calls out, clearly about to take the fall for everything. But this time, you don’t let her even get the chance.

“No buts.” You cut her off, your voice as firm as possible. You steel yourself to look her in the eyes. You do away with your uncaring attitude toward almost everything in life. You do away with your hard-knock lifestyle. Your temptation to brush off every problem you face. And the walls you put up around yourself so that you could pretend that it’s easier. But it isn’t. It never was. You knew that then. You knew that always. But… “I’m sorry, Kasumi.”

you loved her. she loved you but you loved her romantically and she loved you platonically… why were you so stupid to not notice the signs?

she loved someone else but he didn’t love her back, he loved a detective and he loved him back, why can’t you have a happy fucking ending?

you hated romance.

you hated him.

you hated everything.

but you faked it so she can be happy. you were there for her when nobody would notice her but she was never there when everybody noticed you. it was overwhelming.

you wish you can switch spots so she can get noticed.

she was beautiful and you had the looks of a frog, it was like the princess and the frog but it was sad ending. but truly, what is a sad ending to you?

was it the unrequited love? was it the jealousy? was it the abandonment issues? or was it because you can never have happy ending with the false romances you had?

“w-what?” sumire had widened eyes as the leader of the phantom thieves told her that her childhood friend had a desired strong enough to have a palaca.

“but they always seemed happy, i-i guess…” sumire looked down at her clutched fists, “someone can be happy and depressed at the same time.” makoto pointed out.

“i-i mean they never talked about how they felt, they were always caught up with ballet and fencing classes.” sumire muttered while she recalled the day she saw you crying.

“i saw them crying once but when they saw me, they instantly brightened.” she continued while akechi and akira looked at eachother.

the two boys knew about you, how you always loved sumire since you two were younger, how you would give up everything in the world just to see her smile.

“when are we going?” ann questioned akira, “tomorrow night.” he answered ann as she nodded before they heard sumire walk oht of leblanc.

“where is she going?” ryuji shot up, “probably to calm herself down. i would too, be shocked if the person i grew up with had a palace.” yusuke answered with crossed arms.

“let’s go over the plan.” akechi announced as everybody agreed.

sumire sighed and sat on the chair that was placed infront of leblanc.

“stupid, stupid.” sumire thought while holding her head in her hands, how can she not notice that you were giving everything up for her?

she knew that you loved someone but said they would never love you back since they loved someone else, she just never guessed it would be her.

she loved akira but knew she could never give everything up as you did for her. you gave up your happiness to see her happy, you gave up your love for her to be happy.

pulling out her phone seeing as if you texted her something. clicking onto the contact, her eyes widened.

“i love you sumire, and i hope you can find someone that can do better then me.” the message was clear that you would do something only stupid.

kill yourself.

“no!” the rest of the phantom thieves heard sumire yell as haru went to check up on her, “sumire! what’s wrong—“ she was cut off as she saw sumire run off, her phone opened on the table.

“guys!” haru opened the door, showing the text you sent to sumire, “huh!?” futaba exclaimed, everybody knowing what you were doing.

you were a dear friend to not only sumire but to ann too, and when she recalled shiho trying to commit, ann choked on her tears.

“we have to go!” morgana said as akira’s eyes were slightly wide, he knew the hatred you held for him was strong and he didn’t really care but understand that you did but that doesn’t mean he didn’t care for you.

you looked back at your phone, debuting rather or not you should send the message, “how can i be so stupid to fall in love with you?” it sounded almost like an insult to sumire.

you closed your eyes, pressing send before throwing your phone onto the concrete ground as you opened your eyes again to watched the night sky, you standing on the balcony.

“my strong desire to have someone love me must of created a palace. the desire to have sumire love me… god, i’m so fucking stupid!” you covered your face.

you knew about the cognitive world and palaces, you had close contact with the thieves, so how couldn’t you know?

the desire to have someone love you was strong enough for you to have a palace but that wasn’t the only thing that created the palace.

the desire for akira to disappear was also the reason but how could you hate him? he cares for you but you kept pushing him away since you hated him.

“maybe i should die…”

multiple thought swarmed your head, things from your past catching up to you.

“go die, you fucking perv!”

“how was i stuck with a devil child like you?”

“kys, [name] akiyama.”

“didn’t you hear? [name] is a creep, they should really just die.”

you did everything to please everybody, ballet and fencing, it turned everyone’s opinion on you once you gained popularity.

you were jealous of everything and everybody.

especially sumire and akira.

you didn’t hear the door unlocking and heavy panting as you climbed onto the railings, watching as you saw how many floors you would be dropping from.

‘don’t do it please!’

you wonder how sumire would feel if you died but… she had better friends then you, the guilt of leaving sumire by herself started to swell up.

sumire saw your body slightly lean forward as she tried to race towards you, only to bang her thigh against a chair, “shit!” she winced.

the memories of you and sumire rushed into sumire’s head remembering the time you and her sister talked.

“the person sumire sees is actually fake. to be honest, i don’t even know who i am at this point. i got called the emotionless doll when i was younger.”

“you would kill yourself if sumire told you too, would you?”

“of course.”

the tone you had in your voice when you answered kasumi sounded so tasteless, and the glint in your eyes now was gone.

sumire’s eyes widened as she saw your feet take a step off the railing making her shot up and grab your wrist before you could completely disappear.

your eyes widened to see sumire, “sumire..?” your voice sounded like the same tone when you spoke to her sister, the glint was completely gone in your eyes.

“please, don’t leave me too!” her vision went blurry, you smiled softly, “it’s okay. let me go…” you whispered, mustering up the strength to wipe the tears away from her eyes.

“i can’t be happy with life without you.” she whispered to you as tears started pouring down your eyes, “and i can’t be happy if you’re not happy.”

“i can’t be happy without you, okay!” the sudden change in her voice caught you off guard, “just let me go, sumire.” she grew more irrational the more you seemed calm of the thought of dying.

“please, i love you, [name].” you smiled, “i love you too, sumire.” you kicked your feet back and yanked your hand out of her grip as you sent her one last smile before your body rushed down to hit the water, you losing consciousness instantly.

sumire watched your body hit the water, the same water that you and sumire would feed the fish turning red as multiple footsteps came from behind her.

“they’re… they’re gone.” the moment sumire realized the feelings she had for you, you slipped from her fingers.

“we have to pull their body up from the water, they might still be alive.” akechi said as the three boys nodded before disappearing.

makoto calling the hospital, haru and ann comforting the crying girl.

“hi, i’m sumire!”
