wasn't gonna post these, but since it will be a while before I can draw for myself again, here's the coloured sketches of the next SW illustrations I'd prepped up, this time random moments set during the Clone Wars

i actually have a lot of questions about suu lawquane. like. it's kind of implied that before she and cut found each other, she was a single mom subsistence farming in an isolated area chock-full of natural hazards with two young kids. and when the empire comes along their reaction isn't "oh well we better keep our heads down and be prepared to hide cut if necessary" it's "guess we'll have to uproot our entire lives and make some incredibly risky moves in order to avoid being anywhere near the empire's active presence." and i know on a doylist level the latter is just to move the plot along and there's any number of explanations but idk to me it seems like cut has never been the only one with a vested interest in avoiding detection by the authorities.

Every Question that TBB Never Answered In Canon!
Tumblr media
Every Question I Now Have To Answer In Fanfiction!
Season 1
Why did the others accept Crosshair's 'turn' without question?
Where, when, and from whom did Omega learn how to handle a blaster?
Why was Crosshair only 'kinda' missed?
Where did the Lawquanes disappear to after Saleucami?
Why did they start giving away Crosshair's belongings ages before he supposedly quit?
Why did nobody run the concussion protocols on Wrecker immediately, if at all?
Why, if the chips were THAT dangerous, did no one insist on confirming that Omega didn't secretly also have one?
Furthermore, why trust a person's word alone on anything, when liars can and do exist in Star Wars (cough CID cough)?
Why didn't Hunter tell Rex immediately that Crosshair needed help?
Why didn't Omega's energy bow have a stun setting?
Why didn't Hunter think to use the kill setting for Cad Bane?
Why didn't Omega ever find out that Tech was testing her without her consent?
Why did the squad think Hera Syndulla was hallucinating the Empire's threat level?
Why/How did Omega know how to fix the Marauder despite never seeing anyone else do it?
Why/How did Omega learn how to swim despite never going outside back on Kamino?
Why was Omega suddenly able to lift solid durasteel beams despite having average preteen strength?
Why didn't Omega tell the others about the secret entrance back into Kamino at the very beginning?
Why did nobody press Crosshair for more information about his chip removal?
Why did nobody mention whether or not Crosshair had a chip removal scar?
And finally, why was the squad able to retrieve literally everything from pets to people for credits, but not get a trapped sibling away from Imperials with torture machines?

Note: the Bad Batch are Omega's brothers, but they are her guardians. One may argue they are also parental figures, but that is a point for someone else to make somewhere else.

Unpopular ask: orange🧡, blue💙, purple💜 pls!
🧡: What is a popular (serious) theory you disagree with?
The Jedi do not steal children. If you want to have a conversation about something real (if they are separated from their parents too young, if they created a cultural pressure that encourages parents to give up their kids) I will hear you out. I hate this theory so much I wrote a fic featuring a support network of parents who refused the Jedi. I had a mother tell a Jedi to their face that there are aunts and uncles who she only knows from baby pictures, that she had such a hard time getting pregnant she knew she couldn't go through with that with her daughter. But they couldn't avoid tragedy because after O66 because the Sith came to steal their kids. Because that's their favorite thing to do. They got caught multiple times in 4K doing just that.
💙: Which character is not as hot as everyone else seems to think?
You know what Aayla Secura never did it for me. I get it, you can see her midriff and she's attractive. But there's just so many other Twi'leks out there who have more interesting characterization in my eyes. Maybe I didn't read those Republic comics from 20 years ago, idk. I think she and Bly are cute together, tho.
💜: Which character is way hotter than everyone else seems to think?
Someone else asked me this so I'll answer both and tag you. I have a lot to say here. Starting with my love of characters in one or two episodes.
Cut Lawquane! Y'all are sleeping on him. I love a family man. He's not the stepfather he's the father that stepped up. He's so much of a wife guy that he dyed his hair pink so he looks more like his wife! Here's the real controversy, Cut has all the qualities that make y'all go wild for Hunter, but unlike Hunter he can keep his found family together and safe. And he's hot! He's rocking those lamb chops. Please more fan art of Cut and Suu.

I would love to subject Cut to Spar if you’re up for it!
Even after the war ends, Cut doesn’t really expect visitors for him. He’s fine enough making friends among the other farmers, especially Suu’s friends and the kids’ friends’ parents.
So when Suu gives him a worried call of “Cut? You expecting someone?” it’s a surprise.
It’s even more of a surprise when he comes out of the farmhouse to find a Mandalorian—which, to be fair, is a reasonable guess that their uninvited guest is here for Cut.
He braces himself as he approaches the Mandalorian, prepared to ask just what they want, to tell them that he and his family don’t want any trouble, when the metal bucket comes off to reveal a familiar face. More than that—every clone has a familiar face—they have a familiar nose ring and dimple gems. “Spar?” he asks even though he knows it has to be them.
He’s just never seen them anywhere but Coruscant.
“Cut!” Spar beams at him. “I thought the rumour mill was saying you were out here! I came to check in—sorry it’s been so late coming. I’ve been working backwards, you know?”
Cut blinks. “Checking in?”
“On all the medical discharges,” Spar says. “Janey asked me to, since it’s my program.”
Janey? Oh. General Fett—Cut doesn’t think he’ll ever get used to Spar’s nickname for his adopted brother and their mutual genetic template. “Oh. So, uh.”
“You’re the last one!” Spar says cheerily. “You were the first after me, after all.”
“Cut?” Suu asks, coming up from where she’s been observing Spar. “You…know him? Properly?”
“Ah, yeah.” He nods to Spar. “Spar was the pilot of the medical discharge program. They talked me into it and helped me figure out where to go, though High General Fett got the contacts to get me settled on Saleucami.”
“Hello!” Spar directs the full force of their charismatic cheer at Suu.
“So…you’re Cut’s brother?” Suu suspects.
Cut winces; Spar’s complicated.
Sure enough, Spar shakes their head. “No, I’m Jango Fett’s brother. But I’m a clone like Cut is.”
“Oh.” Suu frowns, clearly confused. “Cut usually refers to the other clones as his brothers.”
“Most clones do. But I’m became an outsider to them even before the war, when Jango adopted me as his brother.”
Suu cocks her head, but she seems to accept that. “Are you going to stay?”
“If you’ll have me. And if Cut isn’t opposed?” Spar looks at him, clearly excited by the opportunity.
“Aren’t you a city person?” Cut asks. He’s not opposed, per say, but he doesn’t want to have to deal with a guest who isn’t going to pull their own weight.
Spar rolls their eyes. “I know what it’s like to live on a farm,” they say, clearly not lying considering how annoyed they are when they say it. “Do I need to help cook? Help with the animals? What?”
Cut is admittedly surprised. “Uh…”
Suu laughs lightly. “I’d happily take help cooking,” she says.
Spar smiles and the jewels on their dimples glitter. “I like cooking a lot. My brother and my cousins taught me.”
Suu takes that as face value like she would with any of their friends, even if having only one brother or cousins is weird to Cut to think about. She takes Spar in and Cut watches them go. It’s kind of nice to see them getting along; Spar’s a good person, for an Alpha clone, and for what a weird position they’re in.
Well, if they don’t mind waking up at dawn to help get the eopies their food, that’s fine with him.
(I’m accepting clones to subject to Spar for a while.)
