Humans are weird: It feels like tuesday

Thinking of Humans vs aliens and how things might be different, one thing came to mind. 

Time.

Time keeping is a requirement if you want to get things really organized. To calculate motion and movement, how far per second, per hour, how fast how slow. For space faring species, time would be second nature.

Perhaps, though, that’s because it’s intrinsic to them. They always know how long has passed. Perhaps it’s like a heartbeat they inherently count, or just a basic automatic knowledge of the passage of time.

Humans don’t have that though. Sure we can get a vague sense of how long has passed, some better than others, but humans don’t automatically count the seconds. No, humans FEEL time. It Feels like hours, or minutes, have passed. Some time feels longer or shorter than it is. It Feels like tuesday, even on a wednesday, or it does feel like the right day.

For humans, time isn’t an absolute. Usually, this is a hinderance, honestly. Can make them late or miss things. But when time shenanigans start, as they’re bound to in sci-fi, its astounding. Nobody else notices the time rewinds, the loops, the fast forwards. Cause their inherent clocks are moved just as a regular clock is. Humans though, humans can Feel spacetime, and they can feel when it’s wrong.

I really wanted to tell you guys about the bungou stray dogs themed dream I had but all I remember is the poisoned coffee, getting my head patted, and then at the very end I was forced to commit suicide by fyodor. Sadly I remember none of the other plot elements. Dazai was there the whole time except when fyodor was causing me to kill myself. I woke up gasping for air.

“Obi-Wan, no, oh force no I’m sorry,” Anakin said cradling the older man.

“I-it’ssss o-kay, it’s alrigh-t,” Obi-Wan stuttered out.

“Obi-Wan please, please…” Anakin begs, the “don’t die” left silent. Obi-Wan reaches up his left hand, brushes his fingers through Anakin's hair, “Anak-i-in, it’s too late. It’s o-o-okay.”

“No, NO, NO!” Anakin is in tears, “It’s not-”

“Ana-kih, Pad-mé, she-” Obi-Wan stutteres, “Leave me, Anah, plea-ssee, you need to.”

“No, Obi-Wan, I won’t leave you!”

“Anak-ih- Anaki-in- Anakin, I lo- I love yo- I love you…” Obi-Wan’s hand fell and he was dead.
