Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?: Oh god I daydream sometimes for days before I actually write stuff. 2. Where do you get your fic ideas?: tbh most of the times I get LONG term ideas from dreams I’ve had or a specific situation in said dream that I branch out on. But in terms of oneshots, mostly from music. 3. Do you share your fic ideas, or do you keep them to yourself?: It depends. I mean, YOU know most of what I have goin on up in my brain at any given moment in terms of AU’s and fics. But in general? The Edge of Night is the first thing I have shared online in a very long time. I have an extremely difficult time telling anybody about my ideas because of some past shit that happened to me, so it’s very hard but I’m trying to do better. 10. Do you work on multiple wips or stick to one fic at a time?: I work on multiple wips or I will simply implode. I have to jump ideas or things do not go well in my brain. 11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?: I have to jump around. I tried so hard for so long to be in order, I just CAN'T do it!! Anybody that can is truly a god. 12. Do you outline your fics?  If yes, how detailed are your outlines?  How far do you stray from them?: If by outline you mean go over every single thing in my brain and figure it out over a course of days then yes :) but honestly, I really don’t outline. I have a couple of docs that are specific “plot point/potential oneshot” ideas for certain long term projects but that is as far as I go. 13. Do you listen to music while you write?  If yes, what have you been listening to recently?: Yes!! I have a couple of playlists that are specific for writing!! I just finished a oneshot VERY loosely based on a lyric from LMLY by Jackson Wang, but in terms of what I’ve been listening to while I write lately… a weird mix of metalcore and movie music. 14. What is your favorite location and position to write in?: Well I generally like to sit lskdfj but as for location I have to be in a really comfortable spot on the couch/bed with tons of pillows behind me. If not, I get absolutely nothing done. 15. What’s your favorite time to write?: In the morning and later in the afternoon into the night. I always feel like my writing is so much better at night, which kills my sleeping schedule, but, like, the comfort oneshots are worth it sldkf 25. What’s your favorite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?: Brainstorming/daydreaming and writing it for sure!! 26. Well, we know that the 9-1-1 writers love doing two things:

Adding insult to injury to main characters that are already going through a rough time (e.g. Hen);

Depicting female side characters in the worst type of way.

But what really worries me is that I can’t spot a sight of Eddie anywhere in this promo. 😰 (Admittedly, everything went really fast and perhaps I haven’t looked well enough – even after 10+ attempts... 🤫) In 0:09 we see the chest of the victim in the ambulance and it suggested this person has a lighter skin tone than the shot in 0:24 suggests... And to whom would Buck be saying “we’re right here, we got you” (affectionate)??

So finally, in random order, a list of possible candidates for the role of drunk driver:

Ana Flores (works well with the Eddie theory 😒)

Taylor Kelly (how ironic that a traffic reporter dies in a traffic accident 😓)

Nia’s mum (very simplistic, but congrats Henren, Nia can stay 🥳)

Let me ease your mind a little on your guesses for who the drunk driver will be. Tbh I don’t think it’ll be anybody that we’ve met before

1) Ana - we know that Eddie is in fact at the crash because in bts photos from Oliver and Aisha he’s seen working. I don’t think it’ll be Ana since I don’t think they’d do the crash story yet again for him and Ana will probably be staying awhile.

2) Taylor Kelly - we know from interviews with Tim Minear that she’s staying awhile as well and that her and Bucks story will probably be more friends to possibly dating so she won’t be dying/causing an accident.

3) Nia’s mom - I’ve seen a few people guessing that she could be the drunk driver and we know Tim likes to mess with us on theories which means I won’t rule this one out yet.

4) Karen - I don’t at all think it’s gonna be her because if she caused a wreck for drunk driving and lived then we’d lose Karen in the show.

5) Eva - I’d be very very shocked if she ever shows back up in the show since most likely she’s in jail. This would be fucked up though.

6) Carla - Not even a little bit do I think it’s her. I couldn’t ever see her ruining her life like this

7) Abuela/Pepa - Not a chance lol

8) Lena - I could more see her helping at the crash sight than being the cause of it

9) Ali - Another character that I think is gone for good since she has no storyline to come back to

This may sound stupid, but as a supercorp shipper, im not entirely sure if i want kara/lena to become cannon. The writers have proven that they cannot write a good relationship arc for their main character time and time again and im slightly afraid that if they pursue the relationship they will make it extremely toxic and they will continue ruining their own characters even further, while simultaneously giving more excuses to the antis to be extremely hateful

that’s a completely valid concern tbh because they’ve never proven to us that they can write anybody’s relationship well

mostly i just want them to kiss lmao after that i can live in peace and write my own version of canon as needed

I was watching the episode tonight where they went on the couple's retreat and Stef tells Lena she doesn't trust anybody. Does she seriously not trust her own wife? Their make-up conversation after didn't really even address their issues. I am sorry to just come in here ranting,I was wondering what you thought about that storyline since you always have such insightful analysis of those characters.

Okay so I have mixed feelings about what Stef actually said. Taking everything that happened on the show into account: Stef’s internalized homophobia, her insecurities about who she is, how much her dad hurt her when she came out (and continued to hurt her after,) the trauma of being taken to a minister to have the gay scared out of her, etc., I can see how she struggles to trust others. And I think the whole thing with Monte really messed with Stef. I think until then Lena really felt like the only safe place, the person she was closest to truly trusting and that trust was broken. That’s not something that someone like Stef would get over quickly. (It was Lena keeping it a secret that really broke her trust, by the way. Not the kiss itself so much.) Remembering that the timeline on the show puts us at maybe a year post-kiss, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for Stef to still be working through some feelings of betrayal. Which will never happen if she doesn’t talk to Lena about it, which we know is how she usually operates.

That being said, I think the discussion was lacking. I loved what Lena said and I appreciated Stef talking about how she feels regarding her sexuality but damn does it feel like a discussion that should have happened five+ years earlier. Like, didn’t we deal with this plot in season one? Why did it take so long to get here? But, as I’ve said before, this is where the writers really messed themselves up. Having about two years on the show’s time take five years in real time means the characters aren’t growing very fast and the audience is dealing with the same issues over a very long period of time. I know that self acceptance is far from linear but to have here where she was in season one, ten years after coming out, and still having her there in the final season just feels frustrating to the audience. It was a bad call and the fact that it just felt like a repackaging of the babymoon episode just made it even worse.

Basically, I don’t disagree with you. I was frustrated about a lot of it and tbh, it’s really not part of their canon I choose to really include in my own universe. I think they’d given up on the moms by then, having already shifted their focus to the kids to set up their spin off. It felt like the throw away that it was and they couldn’t even bother to end it with a kiss so whatever. I feel your frustration, anon. I wish they’d been given something more satisfying.

My lovely lovely friend @psilord tagged me to do 10 faves in 10 fandoms and y’all know I’m always down for a good tag game so here’s my list!

1. Drake Mallard/Darkwing Duck. (I’m counting DWD & DT as one fandom bc it’s mostly the same people*). This man is depressed! And lonely! And then he finds himself a HUSBAND and a DAUGHTER!!! We love that for him!!! In the og he’s just a small bisexual disaster man and I have literally never in my life been more excited for something as I am for tonight’s special. He’s going to grow so much as a character and he’s gonna meet his little girl!!! The first and maybe ONLY superhero I haven’t been dissapointed with.

2. Nebula from GOTG. Instant fave when I first saw her bc she’s just a victim doing her BEST, okay? She should’ve been allowed to kill Thanos and she should’ve gotten a happy ending with her sister, and I haven’t been very active in this fandom for over a year but I’m still bitter about it! The TV series did her so much better and I implore all of you to at least watch the episode “Sisters Are Doing it for Themselves” because it filled the hole the MCU version left me.

3. Jason Todd from Batman comics. Angry boy. Deserves more love and an apology from every writer who’s participated in making the canon in the last couple years. I’m looking forward to getting a chance to explore his new content in that choose your own ending movie thing in the next little while because they have to treat him better somewhere in there, right? Right?

4. Venom! I surprised myself with how much I love him. Usually the sharp teeth and slimy exterior would be too off-putting to enjoy, but he more than makes up for it in bad decisions, good one-liners, and a really sweet dynamic with his (canon!) partner Eddie. Thank you for my rights, Sony.

5. Calhoun from Wreck-it Ralph. Please get this woman some therapy. I love me all the fluff that comes from that fandom and her dynamic with her found family tho!

6. Sora from Kingdom Hearts. Immense love for his dumb gay ass. I miss having a platform to play those games on every day. There’s something so sweet and magical about his love for his friends and his willingness to help everyone he meets.

7. Stitch from Lilo & Stitch. I was talking about this on discord the other day but I projected so hard on him as a kid. I just love his journey and I love that he never once stops being weird as shit, he just finds people willing to love him for as different as he is.

8. Cynder from Skylanders/Spyro/Skylanders Academy. Childhood fave turned comfort character but I don’t think I could explain to you why. She just fills me with joy.

9. Hollyleaf from Warrior cats. I know, I know, it’s really kind of an unspoken thing to love those books. But hear me out: I love her. I love her determination, and I love writing in that emotional sequence that led to her isolation. The Last Hope to this day makes me cry because of what happened to her.

10. Sadness from Inside Out. This one is probably pretty obvious why but I have to add her to the list anyway. It’s a good movie!

* - if I didn’t count them as one fandom I probably would’ve put Lena on this list also, idk where. She and Drake are about equal to me but the LGD hype is real rn.

so my brother and i just watched Scooby Doo Return to Zombie Island

It. Was. TERRIBLE.

and let me tell you why :) :) :) :) :) (warning, very long rant)

The animation is so disgustingly cheap looking. You don’t even have to compare it to Zombie Island’s amazing animation. You can just look at it and see how awful it is.  Aside from the characters’ basic “standing completely still and blinking while talking” animation and their “drag the character’s walking along so it looks like they’re moving” walk animation, the animators couldn’t even get continuity right. 

look at this. First off, that is a clean cut to be done by a cat monster with claws. Second...

THIS is how it appears just a couple minutes later: 

WHAT EVEN????

At one point, Scooby just blips onto the screen behind Shaggy when the animators could have at LEAST dragged a static image behind Shaggy for a couple of frames instead of “BAM HERE HE IS!” 

I don’t have a program to let me see frame by frame, but these have to be around 2-3 frames apart.

The thing that really ticks me off is when a cat “monster” scratches a chair Scooby is hiding behind, the scratch mark looks like it’s just...pasted on top of the layer. Oh my gosh I need to show you

look at this. who in their right mind looked at this or even drew it and thought “yeah, this looks good” 

SECONDLY, they pretty much just SPAT on the original. In the original, they were older, they had different outfits, they had JOBS.  This movie? Nah, Daphne just mentions how she worked for that news station one summer for school. 

... THEN WHAT ABOUT SHAGGY AND SCOOBY WHO WORKED AT THE AIRPORT LOOKING FOR SMUGGLED GOODS????? WHAT ABOUT VELMA’S BOOKSHOP??? The characters (mostly Velma) CONSTANTLY try to “explain” how their “first Zombie island mystery” happened scientifically. Even though they said so themselves “but we were there! We saw them disintegrate!” Velma and her know-it-all self just COMPLETELY DISMISSES THAT by spouting some junk about “oh the first cat creatures were just after gold!” (yes, they really made this movie be about people looking for Moonscar’s treasure *eye roll*) and the zombies? HAHAHA, those were “swamp gas”

VELMA YOU COMPLETE AND TOTAL MORON. YOU WERE THERE. YOU SAW SIMONE AND LENA TURN INTO SKELETONS AND THEN DUST. 

OH! And let me tell you all about their personalities and voice acting :) :) :) :) :)

Fred. Frank Welker, my man, you’re good. You’ve been Fred since the beginning and I appreciate that. I even like the way you say “treasure” as “traysure” lol I also think you did Scooby, which is okay too.  The only thing I can’t stand is how DUMB and OBSESSED they made Fred be with either traps or the Mystery Machine. (also it’s SHAGGY’S van and idc who says otherwise) Scooby is...Scooby. Although I REALLY wish they’d bring back the whole thing where he doesn’t really know he’s a dog. “get that DOG out of here!” “Dog??? Where??” 

Daphne, you’re fine. Grey Delise is a good choice for you, and she’s been voicing you for a while now. tbh her personality wasn’t really showed in this movie. She’s fine, I guess. 

Shaggy. Matthew Lilliard just doesn’t cut it. Somebody get Billy West or Scot Innes back, PLEASE.  ORRRRRRRRRRR get that guy who worked at Walmart to voice Shaggy! You know that video of the cashier in Walmart who can sound like Shaggy and Scooby?  FRICK, look up Shaggy impressions on YT and get somebody from there cause they sound a lot better than Matthew. (Sorry Matthew, you do a good job, but it still sounds like someone imitating Shaggy, not....Shaggy.) Like Scooby, Shaggy is Shaggy. Although they did make him a bit more snarky, like “you always make us get chased around/be bait!” like yeah it was funny the first couple of times in previous movies but like...give it a rest, dude. 

Velma. Oh Velma, Velma, Velma...I am SO sorry Kate Micucci, but you were NOT the right choice for Velma. She sounded like a whiny high-pitched nerd with a stuffy nose. (I’m sorry Kate, but compared to other Velmas in the past, this was just too much of a difference for her voice) Combined with this know-it-all personality who’s OBSESSED with mysteries and NOTHING else and the CONSTANT NEED TO HAVE SCIENTIFIC FACTS BACKING UP EVERY POSSIBLE THING just makes the character unlikable.  

This movie makes it out to be like the gang’s only friends because of mysteries. Like they have nothing else in common and mysteries is the only thing keeping them together. At one point Daphne even says “gee, I guess we only talk about mysteries with each other huh?” 

*takes a deep breath*

YOU GUYS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FRIENDS WHO JUST GET TANGLED UP IN MYSTERIES ALL THE TIME. YOU HANG OUT WITH EACH OTHER RIGHT????? SURELY NOT EVERY TIME YOU GUYS MEET UP A MYSTERY HAPPENS. I MEAN. WHAT DO YOU GUYS TALK ABOUT WHILE DRIVING AROUND? OR WAITING FOR YOUR FOOD AT THE MALT SHOPPE??!?!?!?!? 

ALSO AT ONE POINT SOME DUDE WHO IS CLEARLY LIKE IN HIS LATE 20-EARLY 30s HITS ON DAPHNE WHO (IN THIS MOVIE REMIND YOU, SHE SAID ONE SUMMER SHE WORKED FOR A NEWS STATION FOR SCHOOLa) HAS TO BE UNDERAGE. 

I MEAN...LOOK AT THIS CHAD-JEFF FOXWORTHY GUY. HE IS WAY TOO OLD TO BE FLIRTING WITH A HIGHSCHOOLER 

And the villains? They were 3 people who we saw for maybe 2 minutes TOPS when the gang reaches the island. We never see or hear from them again until the end. 

At least the original Scooby cartoon had FRICKIN’ CLUES AND HINTS AS TO WHO IT COULD BE. BUT OHHHH NOOOOO, THIS ONE DIDN’T LET ANYBODY SEE CLUES. AT LEAST NONE TO HELP IDENTIFY THE VILLAINS.

do NOT give me the whole “it’s made for kids” excuse. just because something is made for kids does NOT make something like this okay.  FRICK. EVEN THE ORIGINAL SATURDAY MORNING CARTOON LOOKED BETTER AND HAD BETTER STORIES. AND DO YOU KNOW WHY??? BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY TRIED. THEY KNEW THEY WERE LIMITED, BUT BY GOLLY THAT DIDN’T STOP THEM.  YES THEY MADE MISTAKES BUT TBH THOSE ARE MORE ACCEPTABLE THAN THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE.  THE ORIGINAL HAD CHARM. AND IT WORKED WHEN THEY PLAYED CHEESY MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND OF A CHASE SCENE. THIS ONE JUST MAKES IT SEEM LIKE THE MOVIE IS SCREAMING AT YOU “YOU REMEMBER THIS???!!! REMEMBER THE OLD MUSIC??!?!?!?!?”  This whole entire movie is just trash. They just slapped the Zombie Island part on the movie to get more money from SD fans. They tried to be funny and quirky, and for a sequel to a movie like Zombie Island, it just doesn’t work. 

On a rating of 1-10 Stars, I give this movie a -5.

About that highly publicized “first ever animated openly LGBTQ” character voiced by Lena Waithe in Onward . . . 

Now that I’ve seen the movie I would say “don’t get your hopes up” to my LGBTQ friends, but TBH so far I haven’t seen a single person actually getting their hopes up. Because you’re all wise and beautiful and Disney isn’t fooling anybody.

So here’s what it is (brace yourselves): There is a single cough-and-you’ll-miss-it line (I can’t say “blink” because it’s strictly in the dialogue and not a visual reference) in which the character, a police officer, says she has a wife and daughter at home. That’s it. I know, you’re all shocked to learn that this claim of rep was little more than a bait and switch (as in, they can easily switch out that dialogue when they distribute the film to homophobic territories -- it’s all about the $$$ after all). As usual, it’s just Disney trying to have it both ways.

So! Kit and I are talking about bringing the Bimbettes from Beauty and The Beast in eventually. I’ll be oldest sister Paulette, Kit is baby sis Laurette, and we just need middle sister Claudette! I’ll likely be getting Lyria first so this will be several months out. But I wanted to mention it here. This is the Google Doc where we’re started planning -- we have a cool story so far, we’d love a third sister to join us!

We have fc picked out we like equally for the sisters to be Iranian-French, Japanese-French, or Vietnamese-French. If we don’t get a bite in a month or so, we’ll settle on ethnicity ourselves no problem, but as of now we’ve got lots of options!

I love Lena Luthor deeply and here is why

I usually don’t connect with characters because I never quite find someone that shares the same demons as me.

But Lena Luthor does and when I saw her character... it made me happy.

Why is she like me? What did she taught me?

She is a person trying to not be influenced by her family, since it was the only thing that prevented her to be herself.

She found a family on her friends

She has been hurt by the people closest to her, to the point she questions everything and has a ton of trust issues

She taught me to keep fighting for something good and do not dive into the darkness

Now here is the thing. I know what she is doing this season is literally getting her darkness rule her actions.

And let me tell you, that was me not a long time ago... hell I’m still in a very dark place tbh. I am in a dark place and I did things to try to overcome my darkness... that weren’t good, for anybody... Now I found better ways, but back then...

Did I mean to hurt people in the process? Of course not

All I wanted was the darkness to go away, one way or another.

That’s what, I think, Lena’s trying to do.

And getting out of your dark place is really hard?

And you know what or WHO is helping me through this dark times?

My bff who also happens to be a lot like Kara (except the romantic energy but whatever)

Kara will help Lena because that’s what friends do.

If I can overcome this, Lena can too
