There’s a difference between “wanting to be seen as straight, and thus normal” and “wanting to be known as gay/bi, and that being normal”… when we say we don’t want to be called q*eer, and don’t want to share a community with kinksters, it doesn’t mean we’re ashamed of our sexuality… it means we want to be able to exist without being thought of as inherently deviant. It’s not complicated. At the very least respect people’s boundaries and don’t go around screaming slurs at people.
