ok i wanna talk abt the velvet and shadowsight are friends au i mentioned this morning
jist of it is when shadowsight is nearly killed and thrown in a ditch he instead ends up near twolegplace where some well-meaning humans find him and rush him to a vet. he’s stressed out and obviously feral when he can manage the energy but he eventually is taken to the well-meaning humans’ house... which has another cat in it.
he is kept separate for a while but eventually he meets the other cat, a small gray she-cat named velvet (tadaa!!) who is mostly concerned and gentle bc she can tell he’s scared. they end up friends- shadowsight can’t talk because of his throat injury, so velvet tells him stories and talks with him and they work out a vague nonverbal communication method eventually. she keeps calling him by the name the twolegs gave him, corduroy, which he hates but can’t contest.
eventually one day velvet talks about the clans from when she stayed in thunderclan, half mentioning cats like jayfeather and alderheart. shadowsight jerks- he wasn’t expecting her to say a non-kittypet name, let alone ones that he knows. she realizes he knows about the clans, and then that he’s from the clans. he’s excited that she’s finally caught on to his predicament, but she’s close to horrified. turns out, she and her twolegs had moved houses since she last saw alderheart in avos, and she no longer knows how to get to the forest.
theres some filler and stuff as shadowsight heals and once he’s out of whatever bandages and casts and whatever he was stuck in, velvet helps him escape into the neighborhood. from there, she does her best to get him at least a little closer to home.
then, they run into one of velvet’s old friends, a white tom named buster. velvet asks buster to help her get back to the forest, which he immediately tenses up and gets defensive about. it’s obvious he wants nothing to do with the forest, but velvet explains the situation, and he agrees after shadowsight confirms that darktail is gone. he leads them through the neighborhood to the forest, and velvet goes with shadowsight to go home.
they run into a shadowclan patrol, who are more surprised and happy to see shadowsight than they are defensive about velvet being there. then he gets to go home and velvet comes to say hi and idk how it ends specifically but happy ending!!!! ya

Ohi just realized Mystique doesn't actually exist in your game does she. Russet bright back kits without a mom but logically newborn kits without a cat to nurse them wouldn't survive so yeah. On the bright side you made her amazing either way I really like her and like the mention of her even having kittens before and totally different culture about it
Yeahhhh, she's entirely made up, just like most of the City Cats. I'm glad she fooled so many of you for so long though, that's a sign that I'm doing my job right.
And yeah, I think it's really interesting to think about how kittypets would feel about parenthood and other family relationships. Mystique really doesn't understand why everyone is so hung up on kittens and how precious they are when to her they're just sort of a temporary inconvenience and a societal necessity. I think it's also interesting to realize that she probably knew this was going to happen all along and didn't seem to mind or bother telling Russetfrond. They're definitely a... complicated pair haha.

Now that I've drawn all their designs here they are! (Left to Right, Gorsemoss, Sunstar, Gladebuzz)
Gladebuzz is probably going to go through a slight marking redesign at somepoint to make her easier for me to draw lmao.
Since the game doesn't give them back stories I will very tentatively summarize, some questions I want the game to answer.
Auroraclan was founded on a whim by Sunstar.
As the young loner "Sun" he was often visiting other cats around the area just to play and weave tales. He was an unintimidating presence to house cats, rouges, and loners alike. Gorsemoss known as "Gorse" was a rouge, Gladebuzz known as "Glade" was a kittypet. They both for one reason or another developed a fondness for Sun, and so did their surrounding cohorts in turn.
Sun had always been a vivid dreamer, but for some several moons, his dreams started to lead him somewhere. Letting his curiousity lead him, that's when he came into contact with other clan cats by mistake. They were not as wooed by his charismatic attitude and ran him out. While escaping and needing to find a place to hide, he stumbled and fell into a crystal cavern that smelled of no other cats.
He realized the clans cats didn't know this was here, and used it as his personal hideout.
His already vivid dreams became moreso upon entering this place. And even after leaving the dreams started becoming more insistent, teaching him and showing him all the ways clan cats live, and directly telling him how to go about becoming a leader. The dream's voices were ominously referring to him as "Sunpath" and speaking as though leadership was in his future.
Testing the theory - he visited the (Moonpool?) without permission, imitated what he saw in his own dreams, and was miraculously granted 9 lives.
Excited - he shared the stories with all who would listen, taught about what he knew, and invited other cats to come live with him in the caves.
Slowly but surely, cats came. The other clans started sensing the commotion, but were warded off by their medicine cats who insisted Starclan was very clear about this clan's founding coming to pass.
Glade was one of the first to join. She was an outdoor cat and often her owners simply would not interact with her. It was this weird balancing act where she knew she loved her family, but she had essentially grown up outside. She couldn't stand being inside long - and they couldn't stand to deal with the anxiousness that came with suddenly keeping her inside. They had adopted two new kittens that they were raising differently - so she was okay with moving on.
Gorse was one of the last, he already knew what it was like to have to survive and fight for every scrap of meal. He didn't inherently trust a ragtag group of cats wouldn't turn on each other. However, Sun didn't give up, kept visiting him and bringing him food that his clan was catching, inviting him to the cave for temporary tours, and generally being hard to resist. Finally, he let up, and decided to come.
Glade was renamed Gladebuzz - an homage to queen bees and named Deputy. She had a natural inclination to care for others and a powerful sense of empathy despite her strict demeanor.
Gorse was renamed Gorsemoss - Sunstar didn't give away the reason for this namesake, but it was meant to be because he was tough on the outside but soft on the inside. He was named medicine cat, to pretty much everyone's dismay including Gorsemoss'. However Sunstar insisted he'd be perfect for the job. Gorsemoss didn't argue seeing it as futile, but does his best in the role. Moons of tending to his own wounds and illnesses seeming to be very helpful.
Various young and excited cats from all walks of life make up the founding warriors and apprentices of Auroraclan.

On Rusty's owners and the human world of WCR.
These people were kind. Genuinely loving towards Rusty. They made sure he was always fed, they called him in at night when they wanted a nighttime cuddle with him, and as we can see hinted at in A Thief in Thunderclan, they looked for him. These people GENUINELY loved and missed him and wanted him to come home.
The world of WCR is a more pleasant one. Shelters are not packed full of homeless cats in this world, spaying/neutering is a choice that you can make if you want to, not one that separates you from a responsible owner vs a risky irresponsible one. (This does not apply to our world, get your pets fixed please). Cancer risks from these things (or not doing them) no longer exist. In WCR it's just there if you want it.
Smudge's owner got him neutered because they didn't want him spraying. Nutmeg was spayed because they didn't want her having more kittens. Quince wasn't spayed, but never had more kits. Sasha was never spayed, but Pickle was neutered. Jessie, Minty, Benny and Frankie, none of them were fixed. Many kittypets are not.
Rusty's owners didn't really want to get him neutered, but the rumors that are passed around by clan cats are that they absolutely will and it will destroy your life. Just like kittypets thinking that clan cats gnaw bones.
But they missed him so much, that they took in a young kitten named Hattie who was a little scatterbrained and needed a home because her current one could not afford her surgery because Hattie was incredibly sick. Her spaying was medically necessary. She survived that sickness with the help it gave her. Later, the family picked up and moved. They moved into a small town near a Nature Reserve and settled there with Hattie, and adopted a beautiful kitten that they named Velvet, giving her lovely toys. Hattie acted as her big sister and the two are incredibly close, though Hattie doesn't like the outside anymore. Too many critters bothering her and they are scary! She's old, and just wants to cuddle and scratch her scratching post.
Alderheart secretly meets with Velvet after she leaves. They have no kits, they just play and she catches a mouse for them to share. When Alderheart is exiled by Bramblestar's Imposter, he is done with being a clan cat. He is offered shelter in Skyclan's old temporary camp, but just like in canon, he turns down the offer. He knows where to go.
He walks to Velvet's home, and is welcomed inside. The twolegs see him, and even though they know Rusty couldn't be that young anymore, and he doesn't look like him exactly, but there is a resemblance they can't deny, and it gives them a sense of closure.
Alderheart is given the name of Rudy, but Velvet and every other kittypet in the area still call him Alderheart. He never has to hunt, or worry about sickness, and while he wishes the others the best, he is happy as a kittypet. He no longer feels the need to be right all the time, to be better.
The people who take him in love him deeply, and take wonderful care of him, and Velvet, and old Hattie.

Oh oh, heres an idea. How'd cat Bluemoon react to seeing Leaffall, this lone mother, and her two young kits, Nightpaw and Redkit? (Leaffall basically left her clan after finding out that her mate was cheating on her with a kittypet, and took her two sons with her)
Luckily for leaffall. Blue Moon will not kill kits. Otherwise he would have definitely killed them. Cat Blue Moon of course likes to make deals. The history of how she was cheated upon is a good fire to protect herself. Especially since Blue Moon prefers to kill kitty pets. He would probably make a deal with her. Temporary protection for her kits for about the same amount of deal he does for everyone else. If they hunt, bring him the carcass. Plus the other fact that he won't kill you.

Snapfern
Tumblr media Tumblr media
more info below, potential spoiler warning! I use these character bios as a way to keep track of my SplashClan game which means that all the information is up to date with the current in-game events, not where I left off with the youtube series
Snap was born as a kittypet but found her way to the clans after being saved by Jadezinnia and Lightgale. She accepted the warrior name Snapfern and cared for a kitten named Longkit. She became Longpaw's mentor and went through a period of feeling lost but regained purpose when she helped punish her friend, Lightspots, alongside Gannetstar. She later became Gannetstar's mate and the two had a son named Patchoulikit
Snapfern felt disconnected from her son due to Gannetstar and they later took their son as an apprentice, causing extreme fear in Snapfern. She later retired to the elders den and realized the error in her ways, feeling the cost of seeking approval from Gannetstar. She later disappeared alongside many other SplashClan cats, joining StarClan.

Detailed Biography
Snap was born as a kittypet and for a good while spent her life as just that and never thought to be anything else. She spent her days lounging around outside and chatting with the other neighborhood kittypets until one day she was chased by a dog away from her home. In the end she escaped by running up a tree but she was badly hurt by the dog and was too scared to return home. After wandering for a while, she was found unconscious by Jadezinnia who brought her to the other future clan cats. The cats most skilled in healing were failing to save her until Gale arrived. Gale, later renamed Lightgale, had extensive knowledge of herbs and was able to find what Snap needed in order for her to recover. It was because of this that she felt like she had to stay and help out in order to thank him and everyone else for saving her life.
She spent the next few months recovering from her injuries, certain that she would return to her twolegs until a little kit was found by the clan cats. The kit was named Longkit and since he was being taken care of in the temporary clan medicine den he was raised right alongside her. As Longkit got older, Lightgale decided to task Snap with caring for the kits since she was well enough to walk around now. Though she liked caring for the two older kits, Thunderkit and Sagekit, she felt a bigger connection between her and Longkit.
After the BloodClan-affiliated rogues were driven out of the territories, Snap was conflicted. A part of her longed to return home to her twolegs but another part of her wanted her to stay and take care of Longkit. In the end, Longkit was able to win her over and she decided to stick around and become a SplashClan warrior. She accepted the warrior name Snapfern and adjusted to warrior life relatively well. Though not the most skilled cat in the clan, she was competent and was able to contribute just as much as everyone else did. Eventually when Longkit was nearly old enough to become an apprentice, Snapfern approached Gannetstar and Brackenshade about getting to mentor him herself and thankfully the two agreed to let her mentor him.
It was in the fifth month of SplashClan’s existence when Longpaw was apprenticed to her. Overall her time as his mentor went by without too many issues and throughout it all they remained pretty close. The only problem was early on in his apprenticeship, Snapfern dislocated her leg by slipping on a wet rock but she was thankfully able to recover quickly and Longpaw’s training wasn’t halted by her injury. Soon enough, Longpool became a warrior and Snapfern felt as though the one thing keeping her in the clan didn’t need her anymore. Longpool had grown up and could survive without her being there, so what was the point?
She felt alone. Though she had friends she only trusted Jadezinnia enough to talk to and confide in. Lightspots was incredibly friendly and a great companion who she loved dearly but he wasn’t exactly the type of cat she’d want to approach about her problems, and Longpool of course was her apprentice and she never saw it as appropriate to go to him. Lastly, Brackenshade and Lightgale were just as friendly and trustworthy as Jadezinnia but the thing stopping her from going to them was their closeness to Gannetstar. At one point, Gannetstar had overheard one of her conversations with Jadezinnia and hadn’t been overly receptive towards the idea of Snapfern being uncertain about clanlife.
To keep her in the clan, Gannetstar gave her another apprentice. Icypaw, Gannetstar’s own daughter was chosen and overall their relationship as mentor and apprentice wasn’t as easy as it had been with Longpool. Icypaw’s childish nature as an apprentice led to her being hard to give orders to and she was incredibly unreceptive towards Snapfern’s teaching. In the end, they didn’t end up hating each other thankfully. Icywhisker became a warrior and began to feel fond towards her former mentor, even picking up some small manerisms and quirks from her.
Though things have ended positively with Icywhisker, she was right back to where she was before, feeling as though she had no purpose. She tried her best to continue living as a warrior but as the months went by it became harder and harder for her to do so. She tried to help her clanmates in overcoming their own struggles but nothing was making her want to stick around. One day, Lightspots stood up to Gannetstar during a clan meeting and told them that their leadership was causing conflict in not only SplashClan but with their neighboring clans, HeatherClan and HazeClan. Gannetstar took this as a challenge and decided to punish him herself, but not alone. She ordered Snapfern to help her punish him and she complied, desperate for anything at all to give her a purpose. Gannetstar and Snapfern physically punished Lightspots in front of the clan but all three in the end were injured with Snapfern reciving facial scars from the fight.
Snapfern felt terrible for hurting her dear friend but she felt conflicted. Gannetstar noticed her and gave her a purpose. How was she supposed to leave now? In the following few months, she felt more at home in SplashClan than she ever had, even if for a good chunk of this time she was stuck in the medicine den recovering from her injuries. Gannetstar’s daughter, Icywhisker had just died and her other daughter, Jellyfishspeckle had recently been taken away by twolegs and Snapfern felt the need to be there for her and comfort her, bringing the two clanmates closer than they had ever been before. The month after she recovered she recieved her third apprentice, Boughpaw. Overall, she and Boughpaw didn’t have an overly close relationship but at the same time the two respected each other and she watched proudly when Boughdawn became a warrior, happy to have been the one to train her. It was during this time when Gannetstar gave Snapfern a job, a job that no other cat in the clan had. Snapfern was to eavesdrop on the cats of SplashClan and report back to Gannetstar her findings. Tornrun, Thunderisle, Jadezinnia, and Longpool were the first cats she was instructed to spy on and throughout the whole job she felt incredibly guilty, but at the same time she felt as thought she couldn’t give up this opportunity, not after she was so desperate for a proper place and role in SplashClan’s society.
It was after this when Gannetstar approached Snapfern and asked her if they could be mates. Snapfern was shocked by their question but accepted the offer without question, she had feelings for Gannetstar but she would’ve never thought Gannetstar would reciprocate. She spent the next few months incredibly happy, just wanting to experience clan life and help her friends until something terrible happened. Longpool died as a result of a broken jaw. Snapfern was heartbroken. Longpool was her apprentice and one of her closest companions and as a result she fell into a deep period of mourning. Though she was able to eventually get back on her feet and get back to work it wasn’t long after when she realized she was expecting kits. It was around this time that she also recieved her fourth apprentice, Scorchpaw, though she was unable to spend much time mentoring him herself.
Her and Gannetstar’s only son, Patchoulikit was born. She felt so happy. As Patchoulikit grew and grew she couldn’t help but see the similarities between him and Longpool however she was unable to care for him as much as she should have been. Gannetstar had broken down as a result of SplashClan’s failures in their war with HazeClan and Snapfern, as their mate, felt like it needed to be her to comfort them. As a result, Snapfern ended up spending more time with Gannetstar than her own son. Eventually, Patchoulipaw was apprenticed and Snapfern felt comforted knowing that there were so many responsible warriors in the clan who were willing to mentor him; however not a single one of them received him as their apprentice. Gannetstar took it upon herself to be Patchoulipaw’s mentor. The clan was furious at her decision but Snapfern felt differently. She wasn’t angry or frustrated with Gannetstar, she was terrified for Patchoulipaw. Gannetstar had two apprentices before, Sagepeak and Quietpaw and they both died incredibly young. Snapfern feared that her own son would meet the same fate. As a result of her stress and growing age, she decided to retire to the elders den.
Tumblr media
Patchoulipaw grew and grew, inheriting Gannetstar’s bloodthirsty nature and Snapfern could no longer see Longpool’s sweet, loving personality in him. Patchouliprickle was made a warrior earlier than he should and this act made Snapfern realize what a terrible mistake she had made. She felt more drawn to Gannetstar’s approval and attention than Lightspots, who loved her just as much and would’ve certainly cared for her even more. She had ignored him and now it was too late. She had found her place in the clan, but at what cost?
Only three months after Patchouliprickle was made a warrior, Snapfern disappeared into the night alongside many other cats of SplashClan, her son included. Though her cause of death is unknown, she went to StarClan.

"How are you holding up, Suntuft?"
Lifting her head from her nest and the kits nestled against her belly, Suntuft greeted Butterflyfur's approach with a weary smile.
"Better than others."
The last few sun cycles had been absolute madness. From the birth of Brightstorm's kits and her own, to the discovery that they were Eagleburn's, and then, the cruel death of Bayspots at the claws of Eagleburn and the current debate of whether or not it could be considered self-defense with no witnesses...
She tilted her head, peering out beyond the nursery. As she suspected, once her eyes adjusted to the sharp, leaf-bare morning light, Brightstorm was still laying outside of the warriors' den. It seemed her adult kits still did not feel ready to accept her comfort. Sandfeather had refused to speak to her at all, and while Frostspots and Sparrowshadow had been more forgiving, they were focused, understandably, first on Sandfeather's recovery.
It was only a day after Bayspots's vigil, and unfortunately, she didn't anticipate there to be much of a change in Sandfeather so soon.
"Figured you might want some breakfast."
Setting down a small, thin sparrow in front of Suntuft, the queen gave Butterflyfur an appreciative glance.
"Thank you, Butterflyfur. How are you doing?"
While they had never been particularly close, Butterflyfur and her siblings had been brought to the clan by Slatespots about the same time as she and Brightstorm had been brought by their deceased kittypet mother.
Not only that, although she hadn't thought much of it, but Butterflyfur was also one of Eagleburn's siblings. Grayfade, their other sibling, had buried herself in her medicine cat work to avoid the sight of Eagleburn in his temporary prison. Her gaze softened with sympathy, feeling bad for not checking in with the she-cat sooner.
"This must be hard on you, especially since..."
Slatespots and Creekberry had died some moons ago, and the absence of support for their kits surely must be felt. She knew she often yearned for Boulderfrost's guidance.
"It's okay," Butterflyfur interjected. "I know everything is going to be fine. Eagleburn wouldn't have done it if he didn't absolutely have to--he wouldn't betray the clan like that. But I'm still sorry it all happened."
Ears twitching, Suntuft did not know how to feel about such a statement. She and Bayspots hadn't been close, but, wasn't it a little cold to dismiss her death like that?
She could only manage to nod, looking back to the kits when one began to mewl, nudged away from her warm belly by one of the others.
Leaning over to push the kit back into place, Suntuft listened as Butterflyfur awkwardly cleared her throat.
"I just wanted to say, Suntuft, before I go--if you need any company, I'm here for you."
Suntuft paused, and peered back.
While words alone implied nothing short of an innocent offer, the hopeful, soft shine to Butterflyfur's eyes was one she recognized. She had seen it in how Brightstorm sneakily watched Eagleburn, and how she had looked at Bayspots early in their relationship. Even could she vaguely recall how Boulderfrost would occasionally look at Darkstar with similar eyes, though nothing came of it.
"... That is very kind of you, Butterflyfur, but I think I'll be fine. You should check on Grayfade."
Kind, but polite, she watched as Butterflyfur's face dropped, though if one blinked, they would have missed it. She recovered swiftly and bowed her head courteously.
"You're right--thank you for thinking about my family when yours is suffering even more."
"DawnClan is just one big family, isn't it? You're like a sibling to me, Butterflyfur."
Butterflyfur tensed, then managed a stiff smile.
"Thank you, Suntuft. I'll let you get some rest."
Carefully leaving the den, Butterflyfur made her way to the medicine cats' den while Suntuft watched after her, curious.
They never had been particularly close--where had this all come from?

“I learned a lot. Friendship and kinship matter more than adventure. Boundaries only exist in our minds. A heart can travel to the horizon without moving a paw step. And I made the best friend any cat ever had.”
Tallstar is a black-and-white tom with a very long tail and amber eyes.

Just read the Kittypet Kingdoms- SUPER IN LOVE WITH IT!!!! AHGDHSAJKDGHKAJS!!!! Imagine if the kingdoms actively point out hypocrisy and double standards towards cats who weren't born in the clan or half-blood. Like anything they do, they're not good enough even with endless loyalty that's constantly doubted. Imagine if one of the Kings or Queens of the kingdoms used to be an Ex-Clan cat who got sick and tired of it all. OH WHAT IF THERE WAS ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS ON BOTH SIDES?! I can see Darktail being a Kingdom Cat who rounds up a group of rebels and actively goes and attacks clan cats and kingdom cats who defied him and it was up to both sides to put an end to this. Temporary truce arc would be sooo cool!!!!
I think this might have been towards @imagination-confusion but hard agree anon! So much can be done with this idea, can't get enough of it! So much drama that could unfold

Darkwhispers
Name meaning:
Dark: fur color
Whispers: quiet, observant, hunter.
A historic feline who now resides in the dark forest. A once sweet kitten turned into a murderous serial killer after watching her mother get killed (accidentally) by her father after witnessing the two arguing. She would go on to become manipulated by the spirit of her mother who drove her to kill her own father. This set off a temporary war between stormclan and forestclan after she blamed the murder on stormclan. Soon famine would overcome the clans, causing hostility and hunger among the clan cats. She would end up watching her clan slowly starve. Taking matters into her own paws she hunted kittypets and loners and in extreme cases, she even hunted clan cats. Taking bits of flesh back to her clanmates who didnt question what it was. After the famine, she grew a hunger for flesh, eventually killing more clan cats, kittypets and loners. She was caught and exiled which angered her. Thinking they should be grateful that she was the one that kept her clan going, she created a group of rouges, many who seeked shelter, many who wanted revenge for wrong doings by the clans or those who were formally exiled. Her group got larger and larger and she grew to power, striking fear into any feline who dared to leave. She killed anyone who disobeyed her. Spoke against her or tried to escape. She constantly tormented the clans by attacking patrols or leaving corpses of dead cats. Eventually attacking camps and weakening them. It wasnt until a final battle at the forestclan camp, when Darkwhispers was finally killed by her own brother, Stagstar.

Moon 27:
Strikespots is given their warrior name. Was it too early?
Strikespots wanders directly into a rock on their bad side. Duskheather takes them aside to gently explain that their bad vision is progressing. Strikespots is upset, and they become even more upset as they wonder if that's why they are given their name before their siblings. Was it so that they can be named while they still have a chance?
Strikespots and Bearstar get into an argument. Following it, Bearstar names Caverpaw Cavernblossom, and Cloverpaw Cloverfreckle.
Goldfox is worried about Patchkit. Patchkit is begging for life-saving herbs for their minor scrape.
Rootkit is checking on Bearstar.
Strikespots watches as Tigerkit pretends to hunt a mouse.
Moon 28:
Brindlekit has gotten heatstroke, and Rootkit has a splitting headache so strong, they cannot get out of their nest.
Strikespots is lashing their tail furiously. Was their own suffering not enough? Did StarClan have to hurt her younger siblings as well?
Silversmoke visits the kits in the medicine den. He distracts them by having Brindlekit talk about snails.
Patchkit wakes early to say hello to the dawn patrol.
In spite of their pain, Rockkit looks forward to their apprentice ceremony. Surely the pain is temporary?
Moon 29:
Everyone recovered!
Brindlekit corrects Silversmoke on something trivial. Silversmoke isn't annoyed, just glad to see how energetic Brindlekit now was.
Goldfox and Strikespots go on a hunt together. Goldfox admits that they think they had a vision and begins to describe it, but when they notice Strikespots's envious look, they say that it's probably nothing and drops it.
Duskheather and Bearstar gather herbs together, but Bearstar asks too many questions and questions Duskheather too much. Duskheather snaps at them, accusing them of being full of themself because of their high position. Bearstar argues, pointing out that they only have the position because of Duskheather. Duskheather argues further that it was StarClan, not them. It was the truth and wasn't meant to be hurtful, but Bearstar can't help but feel that Duskheather never would have chosen her if it weren't for her vision.
Strikespots was dragged and dropped by an eagle, and managed to survive.
Goldfox wonders how Cloverfreckle is doing. Cloverfreckle, meanwhile, wants to get to know Goldfox better.
With their bone broken, Strikespots surveys the Clan scornfully.
Cavernblossom dramatically dies after Patchkit pretends to slay them.
Moon 30:
Goldfox has gotten whitecough.
Brindlekit becomes Brindlepaw, and Cloverfreckle is named as their mentor.
Patchkit becomes Patchpaw, and Silversmoke is their mentor.
Rootkit becomes Rootpaw and Bearstar is named as their mentor. Though their glad to be an apprentice, they can't help but glare at the sky, wondering why her birth parents couldn't be here as well.
Tigerpaw was about to be named as Kisha's apprentice, when Duskheather steps forward, explaining that she needs someone to follow in her steps. Bearstar is disagrees until later when Duskheather explains her worry because of the sickness that killed their old home. She's unhappy, but knows she's right and names Tigerpaw as Duskheather's apprentice.
The conversation also allows Bearstar and Duskheather to have a heart-to-heart.
Strikespots begrudgingly allows kits to play with their tail.
Brindlepaw wants to learn as many fighting techniques as they can!
Rootpaw is eavesdropping on Brindlepaw.
Moon 31:
While on patrol, Rootpaw and Bearstar meet a kittypet. They are welcoming, but the description of Clan life frightens the kittypet, who decides not to join.
Moon 33:
Goldfox's whitecough is gone....but Rootpaw now has whitecough.
Tigerpaw wonders if they are good enough to be a medicine cat apprentice.
Brindlepaw plays a prank on Tigerpaw. That lifts Tigerpaw's mood for a little bit, but then they watch their siblings play together by the apprentice's den...was she always going to feel this isolated?
Patchpaw wants to get to know Tigerpaw better.
Rootpaw worries that others are judging them.
Moon 34:
Duskheather has gotten greencough.
Bearstar gives advice to Strikespots, meanwhile Strikespots thinks that Bearstar could be leading the Clan better.
Silversmoke feels overworked.
Tigerpaw dreams of taking care of a patient. Everything is fine and calm, until Tigerpaw finds that Duskheather is nowhere to be found. There's suddenly too many patients, all needs Tigerpaw's help. Tigerpaw is overwhelmed, cannot get the right herbs, cannot help them all--they wake up sweating, and decide not to worry Duskheather with their nightmare. Duskheather was going to be fine.
Goldfox wonders how Cloverfreckle is doing.
Cavernblossom gives advice to Patchpaw.
Cloverfreckle wants to get to know Silversmoke better.
Brindlepaw fell into a creek. She is lectured, but Bearstar and Silversmoke can't help but feel amused at the familiar incident.
Rootpaw wants to become a fierce warrior one day.
Moon 35:
Goldfox and Cloverfreckle are on patrol when they find a starving loner. The loner begs for a place to stay, offering their herb knowledge in exchange for it.
Void joined the Clan!
Moon 36:
Kisha and Duskheather found a litter next to a dead mother, dead by sickness. They take the kits in and become parents to Bluebellkit, Lionkit, and Cottonkit.
Kisha is seen touching noses with a loner.
Brindlepaw talks to Tigerpaw about what it's like to be a medicine cat apprentice.
Moon 37:
Everyone is healed!
Bearstar gives in to his kit-like indulgence, and plays a prank on her brother.
Tigerpaw stresses about keeping the Clan safe and healthy.
Brindlepaw wants to be named before Patchpaw. Patchpaw dreams of making their Clan proud.
Rootpaw practises battle moves.
Lionkit wants to be big someday!
Cottonkit is pretending to be Clan leader.
Moon 38:
Rootpaw is named Rootskitter. Brindlepaw is named Brindlesnap. Patchpaw is named Patchpelt.
The kits are amazed of the new warrior, and now Rootskitter has a gaggle of kits following them.
Silversmoke plays mossball with Cottonkit.
Void is worried about Cottonkit.
Strikespots feels underappreciated.
Lionkit hopes to make a friend.
Strikespots is patrolling alone when they run into a small group of loners by the border. The group is not hostile and no one speaks, but Strikespots glares at them anyway, watching their every move until they leave, leaving the air thick with tension.
Moon 39:
Goldfox and Cloverfreckle sneak out of camp to watch the sun rise.
Bluebellkit goes missing. Everyone sets out to search for her, and Void is the one to find her scent. She finds her at the bottom of the mountain's edge, when the ground shakes. She tries to save the kit, but barely manages to make it out unscathed. Void's tell is left mangled, and Bluebellkit is dead.
Hearing of the death, Duskheather breaks down, wailing uncontrollably and cursing the world for taking Bluebellkit instead of her.
Kisha's voice breaks as she talks about Bluebellkit at the vigil.
Cavernblossom wonders how Kisha is doing.
Cottonkit talks at Bluebellkit's vigil, though she doesn't fully understand the importance of her words.
