ok i wanna talk abt the velvet and shadowsight are friends au i mentioned this morning

jist of it is when shadowsight is nearly killed and thrown in a ditch he instead ends up near twolegplace where some well-meaning humans find him and rush him to a vet. he’s stressed out and obviously feral when he can manage the energy but he eventually is taken to the well-meaning humans’ house... which has another cat in it.

he is kept separate for a while but eventually he meets the other cat, a small gray she-cat named velvet (tadaa!!) who is mostly concerned and gentle bc she can tell he’s scared. they end up friends- shadowsight can’t talk because of his throat injury, so velvet tells him stories and talks with him and they work out a vague nonverbal communication method eventually. she keeps calling him by the name the twolegs gave him, corduroy, which he hates but can’t contest.

eventually one day velvet talks about the clans from when she stayed in thunderclan, half mentioning cats like jayfeather and alderheart. shadowsight jerks- he wasn’t expecting her to say a non-kittypet name, let alone ones that he knows. she realizes he knows about the clans, and then that he’s from the clans. he’s excited that she’s finally caught on to his predicament, but she’s close to horrified. turns out, she and her twolegs had moved houses since she last saw alderheart in avos, and she no longer knows how to get to the forest.

theres some filler and stuff as shadowsight heals and once he’s out of whatever bandages and casts and whatever he was stuck in, velvet helps him escape into the neighborhood. from there, she does her best to get him at least a little closer to home.

then, they run into one of velvet’s old friends, a white tom named buster. velvet asks buster to help her get back to the forest, which he immediately tenses up and gets defensive about. it’s obvious he wants nothing to do with the forest, but velvet explains the situation, and he agrees after shadowsight confirms that darktail is gone. he leads them through the neighborhood to the forest, and velvet goes with shadowsight to go home.

they run into a shadowclan patrol, who are more surprised and happy to see shadowsight than they are defensive about velvet being there. then he gets to go home and velvet comes to say hi and idk how it ends specifically but happy ending!!!! ya

Something I want to build on with vincent at some point is how much the years of being an adventurer has taken a toll on him. he spent so long just being angry at the world but as he gets closer and closer to carteneau he does start recognizing how reckless he's been and the mistakes he's made over the years. friendships (especially with layla and nhea) helping him get a little closer to how he used to be before finally stopping and trying to do better for himself when he loses his leg. and the fact that guilt has really solidified in him to still make him push himself in his healing rather than combat (though sometimes still pushing himself too far) and how the years of treating himself like a weapon have taken a toll on his mind (he has terrible nightmares that only a select few have been able to help him through it)

Random hc based on my game theory that Werewolves past friend was Dark Choco;

What if that cloak Werewolf wears all the time was a gift from Dark Choco from when the two where younger? The reason it still fits is because he was always really tall for his age due to his wolf genes, and it can explain why it looks worn (because it's so old) and why he flat out refuses to take it off or replace it..

Basically, Dark Choco began to notice that Werewolf lacked warmer clothes, so they gave Werewolf a cloak because of that (not knowing that he wasn't very much effected by the cold), and even after it was revealed that he was a werewolf, he continued to wear it because it comforted him, it made him feel less alone.

"Ah, Choco...I couldn't!" Werewolf had held his hands out and motioned his hands as to preform a gesture of refusal, that only made his friend far more persistent. Dark Choco huffed and shoved the newly woven wool cloak into their best friends hands,

"Oh c'mon! Of course you can!" Werewolf shook his head, "Choco...I couldn't just take advantage of you.." Werewolf tilted his head so his eyes met Dark Choco's as they rose their arm to place a hand on his shoulder, "You wouldn't be taking advantage of me Werewolf....what kind of friend would I be if I just let you freeze like that?" They spoke with a voice faintly laced with concern, and it warmed the tallers heart. That's odd...

"I appreciate the gesture, Choco, but I'll be fine. I don't get cold." Werewolf slapped a hand over his mouth immediately, he didn't mean to say that out loud. Dark Choco furrowed their eyebrows. Werewolf then started to sweat faintly, "S-sorry er-, I'll try it on!" Before Dark Choco could respond, Werewolf pushed them away and began putting on the cloak.

"Huh..." Werewolf allowed the cloak to surround him completely, "This...isn't half bad, actually" Dark Choco flashed him a smile, "See! I told you it wasn't so bad!" Werewolf chuckled and nodded.

"Yea.." he closed his eyes and smiled, "Thanks, Choco." Dark Choco grinned and dove for their friends wrist, pulling him forward.

"Alright, enough chit-chat! I gotta show you something!" He began to pull Werewolf forward.

Werewolf couldn't help but smile faintly as he snuggled into his cloak.

his gloved hand briefly caresses your favorite armchair, a heavy sigh leaving his lips.

zhongli was a competent butler. never in his life he would be caught slacking off like his - at least, that is, before you were violently ripped away from his side. you, his master. you, the one he swore his loyalty to. you, who called him your one and only friend in this cold and ruthless high society you're forced to take part in.

"no!" he said a little too loudly for his liking, and it seemed to have surprised you just as it surprised himself. he shifts on his legs and clears his throat, a smile naturally spreading; an easy feat, since he was within your presence, "please, let me stay by your side. who would take care of you if not me?"

"very true," you hum, a momentary sadness crossing over your features, and he knows you're thinking of the other residents in your home who would be more than happy seeing you die tomorrow.

he would know. he's seen them hold a toast upon your demise.

you sat back down in your armchair and he leans over to pour you your tea, smile widening when you thank him with that sweet lilt in your voice. he allows himself to indulge just a little bit as he retreats, softly inhaling your scent. only then he realizes the extent of how much he misses you.

he doesn't even care if this turned out to be just some sort of a hyperrealistic dream.

this time he'll make sure to take care of everything that threatens your safety, without fail.

perhaps he should start with those no-good people you call 'family'.

Kitty jesus, he believes in starclan which is the kitty version of heaven/god and yea. All the warrior cats characters except those outside the clans or those that are atheist believe in the kitty heaven and would irl be bri-ish and christian as hell so. The authors are all older british christian women and so the way starclan is written is like undoubtedly that.

The main religion in the series is extremely catholic coded. Most clan cats believe in Starclan and the Dark Forest(or heaven and hell). There is a set of rule they must uphold and follow, where following them leads to heaven and breaking them leads to hell. Their religious leaders are sworn to celibacy, and the punishments that "code breakers"(or cats who break the rules) face are extremely similar to situations people with religious trauma have gone through.

I'm pretty sure you've already got plenty of submissions for her so I'll just say she was raised in what is basically a cult (technically a nunnery but let's be real) dedicated to keeping the body of the thing that will kill God behind the rock. One of their prayers is actually "I pray the rock is never rolled away". Harrow is extremely devout as penance for her earlier heretical actions in the tomb as a child (spoiler!) so the Catholic guilt really comes through

imagine being a catholic nun and you meet god, but it turns out he’s a twitch streamer from new zealand who became god because everything got a little bit out of hand. and just before you met him you gave yourself a diy grief-fuelled lobotomy with the help of your best frenemy. imagine how insane you’d be. now multiply that insanity by nine. that’s the fictional love of my life right there.

They're Catholicism with extra bones. Everyone is a nun. They have what is basically a rosary made from knuckle bones. They technically worship the same God as everyone else, but they're waaaay more focused on The Body in the Tomb (Mary) and we get a moment where we find out that while everyone else prays the equivilent of The Lords Prayer, they're doing the equivilent of Hail Mary. And they paint their faces with skulls.

She thinks leaving dry bread in a drawer is taking care of someone. She's in love with a 10,000 year old corpse (the same one they worship). She spent ALL NIGHT digging with her bare hands to make sure a field had bones every 5 feet so she could fight her girlfriend - I mean, greatest enemy. Spoiler territory: She's been puppeting her parents corpses since she was 8 years old. Instead of grieving her dead girlfriend, she gives herself a lobotomy. She makes soup with bone in it so she can use the bone IN THEIR STOMACH to try and kill them.

I love the Locked Tomb series but Harrowhark has daddy issues with God, had a childhood crush on God's cryogenic partner, and is in love with God's daughter, not to mention that she's essentially a bone-bender. The religion on her home planet exists in a way that is technically against the will of the canon in-universe God, even. All of this to say, Harrowhark is heretical at minimum if not an outright witch. Terrible Catholic. Burn her.

Violence seems to be an unfortunate overarching theme regarding the Jiang Family and how they exhibit any emotional behavior. The above passage of Madam Yu'a introduction as a parental figure and Jiang Cheng is terribly similar to what we get for Jiang Cheng's introduction as Jin Ling's uncle and a caretaker,

And to answer the main point of your ask, no, Jiang Cheng is not any better towards Jin Ling and how he treats him. He treats him exactly as Madam Yu did with Jiang Cheng. With cruel ever changing expectations that were too high for a child to ever be reasonably expected to achieve without help or the care that should have been exhibited to raise a confident child. Jiang Cheng took the role of his mother in all ways and superimposed his life onto Jin Ling as well. Generational trauma is not always easy to of course pick up when you have grown within that environment. Yes you may know something is not "normal" as you interact with others but it's hard to name or describe why. Jiang Cheng thought of his mother respectfully despite her own many flaws, generational deference is difficult to question when that is all you have known until you are in a better environment to explore and comfortably learn despite being less than grand in execution. Jiang Cheng did not get that chance in life, but he does finally let Jin Ling have that as Jin Ling seeks out Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji for nighthunts to learn from.

Unconditional love isn't always a saving grace, and that is an unfortunate reality of life that not all love is always good or healthy despite how very much you love them or each other. Unconditional love can be selfish cruel and hurtful in the ways that people choose to express it when they don't want to be better for their loved ones. The play of trauma and victim blaming is terrible when you are both the abuser and victim and continue that cycle.

The only thing that Jiang Cheng "did better" than Madam Yu, was living to let go of his hates and insecurities enough to stop imposing them on to Jin Ling as well so the child could grow better and with actual role models that encourage a nurturing non-mocking environment first and foremost.

i finished catching up to this like 2 minutes ago [EDIT: WROTE THAT THE DAY BEFORE YESTERDAYM NOW ITS 2 DAYS AGO] and i genuinely really liked this. for a manhua its amazing!! the plot is unique and keeps you guessing, the characters are entertaining and NOT cookie cutter cutouts of isekai tropes, theres been some interesting reveals and a lot of people in the comments were hating on ml but personally i found him super fun; hes very morally grey n has definite flaws but thats what makes him a good character to read about !! not to mention the main character herself is great. i hate that my bar for good manhwa/hwa characters has gone down to 'has more than 2 personality traits' but she is leaping over it for sure

i think this is the first manhwa ive read where the ml pisses himself in fear the first time he meets fl (theyre both children)(hes scared of something else not fl but still). anyway its nothing particularly unique but its pretty fun! its one of those novel isekai where mc reincarnates into a little kid and the structure makes it a sandwich which has been keeping me very invested. this isnt a very good advertisment but its a good way to pass the time i think. heres a nice reaction pic

um hello! i’ve seen you answering questions on this blog, so i hope you can answer this one! /nf

i’m entirely new to the term and idea of “fictionkin” but ever since i found out about what fickin was and what it meant, i figured it might be me but i couldn’t be 100% sure because of a smaller thing.

for a bit more context which i feel may be important: i pretty much spent all my life mentally viewing myself as literally animated, as animated medias have always been a special interest since i was little (i’m now diagnosed w/ autism which is why i used that term btw). though i never truly viewed myself as any canon character, i always viewed myself as my self insert sonas growing up, my finest examples of this through the years would be self insert sonas of mlp and eddsworld. nowadays, as my main special interest is my own work (as a writer and artist) i mentally view myself as my persona, i always have during these current years and i believe i always will, to the point where i don’t even associate myself with my body or face physically bc i’ve always viewed myself as some sort of fictional version of myself and in my mind that’s how i look to myself. to put this in terms of an example, i once told someone that my physical body is like a car because i like to decorate it and make it look nice and i use it to get around in this world, but my persona is the driver because in my mind, that’s who i am and i’m simply using this “car” to get around (remember this is an example i don’t literally think my body is a car lmao)

but yea, the reason i’m very confused is because i always see fictionkins identifying as canonical characters from a media, or ig even self inserts as i’ve heard somewhere (correct me if i’m wrong) but i never hear about people identifying as their OWN characters if this makes sense. in my mind, a fictional character is a fictional character, which would include my persona that is very much fictional in every way (atp my persona is a developed character with fictional lore, other worldly traits (like magic), and is always a part of little scenarios or short stories i make up for comfort or outta boredom, just happens to resemble me irl in most ways but is basically how i view myself mentally down from personality to clothes that i really connect with but don’t really wear irl)

but anyway yes, i’ve tried and tried to research for anything that might be similar to my case but i don’t really find much at all.

i hope this ask was okay to send, ik it might be lengthy ik you weren’t asking for my “life story” it’s just that i’ve always wondered what was wrong with me in terms of this topic and why i viewed myself as being a fictional character, and now that i feel closer to a possible answer it’s very relieving but still confusing since i don’t know if the label really fits what i go through. i can’t help but wonder if it’s also maladaptive daydreaming or multiple things/something else but i prob can’t expect much advice or help w that on this blog which is perfectly okay lmao

judging the art alone, not the fact that we get a new anime or anything exciting like that, just the art alone... it's very pretty!

yea this is very pretty. the kid looks great, small and good, and his hair looks feathery and neat, so I approve. I think they nailed his general proportions, I think they'll do a great job at keeping them consistent during episodes! the image to the right does looks a tiny bit like a 3d asset, which is a bit jarring compared to the previous anime style, but I'm flexible towards this change. even if he looks like a video game cutscene character, I usually love cutscenes!!

but here's the drama I'm sure you're here for. yes, unfortunately, there are some wee things that I don't love as much🤏

ah okay. heres the main thing that I think most people may agree with.

these are two screenies of sebster from the teaser. honestly, as ☆luxurious☆ as his lashes are, I'm not a fan of the left image. the airbrush on his hair feels a tad overdone. I love the attention to detail, especially in the one on the right, it shows a lot of love! but there's just something about it that's a bit off for me.

and I think after 24 hours I've finally figured it out: it's the colors.

the realization started to hit me when I saw my favorite edit so far here by @ashxketchum. the colors have been edited to be much more saturated and warm. and I think this is exactly what is missing here.

I even tried my own hand at it, and yea personally, I think slapping a saturation, tint, and just a BIT of contrast on the whole thing can do numbers on it.

already I like it(no I'm not just praising my own work, it's not the best edit out there I did it in 30 secs). I think the reason for this is because the background is very rich in contrast and warm tones, so the characters(particularly sebastian who is all black) stand out when they are muddy and low contrast. I love stylistically when contrast is high, but that's just a personal thing, and I shouldn't hold a studio to those standards.

I tried it for the poster too though, which again I felt was a bit off. official art has never been the most top tear, and the poster is GOOD, the background is awesome and the two peeps looks amazing. but my problem with it was clear once I did another color edit.

again, I feel like everything was very muted in the left original, not to mention a tad monochromatic. I really think a kick of contrast and hue could do wonders.

BUT. I know that at the end of the day, it's not a big deal. I don't really care. would it make my day or whole year if they slapped a color filter on it, or continued to work on the color grading of the scenes? probably yea! but my opinion isn't obsolete, and most of all, I look forward to and respect the artists decisions.

so no I'm not "fixing" the art😅😒.

Okay I mained bads perspective yesterday but I keep seeing people say that Etoiles and Roier couldn't find anyone to kill for nine hours--and listen . Is it that they couldn't find ANYONE or that they didn't find who they WANTED to kill, because they did see Foolish and Cellbit didn't they? Two people in nine hours is SUPER ROUGH yes but they did run into red more than once and just didn't kill them so idk I'd be more into it if they really didn't see a single player for any time whatsoever but like. Just because they didn't see bad more than once ISNT the same; I think I just mainly take issue with the fact everyone is trying to give bad a hard time for not fighting while refusing to acknowledge the entire server wanted his head on a platter, why should he 1v12?? Like that's ridiculous how is that even content when he'd get curbstomped against that many people, every time people want to fight him it's only AFTER they gather at least four to six people to take him out like be realistic if you want to 1v1 id be like fuck yea but he knows that where there's one there's the rest of y'all not too far away I just do not get it he's not a coward he's using basic common sense (plus even when people offer a 1v1 they're ALWAYS in a vc telling their team where to go to jump him) that is there's One of him and An Entire Server who wants him Dead good as he is (and tbf i also disagree with etoiles calling their fight from the other day a 1v2 because it wasn't--it started as a 2v2 and fit ran because he almost died (I'm aware of the miscommunication btw I don't blame either of them!!! It really really sucks bc I'm sure etoiles could've escaped) but regardless it WAS a 2v2 that bad didn't even Want to take on initially, it would've stayed that way if fit had stuck around because he was going to die anyways ykwim but to say it was unfair when it didn't start off that way is eh 2 me mostly bc it sounds like they jumped Etoiles off guard as if Etoiles and Fit didn't engage them first) HOWEVER saying all that I think they really should try to encourage PVP in different ways than just "everyone go hunt down this one specific player" because then it's kind of just . Like that encourages that player to just hide because why would they fight that many people? Boosting the kill percentage helps but manhunts don't imo they'll just stay underground the whole time and I don't blame anyone who does outside of even Blue--like when Blue and Green were hunting Red, of course red is going to stay hundreds of blocks away to avoid PvP it's just numbers ykwim idk it's purgatory but when you being killed will set your entire team back because there's significantly less of you then everyone else I don't blame them really and I hope the admins can come up with a different way to try and get fights going

In the wake of the new Limbus Brainrot because Canto 4 ended, I've been seeing a certain... Dante related theory... making the rounds again and I wanted to post my thoughts about it.

Putting it under the cut for length reasons- No specific spoilers?, I just don't wanna blast people with the text wall lmao

I gotta say, I really hate the Dante = Ayin theory. Desperately.

Not any hate to the people theorizing- not like that, I just already have a deep hatred of [x person is actually y person]/Reincarnation/etc. theories.

Why, you may ask? Well, in the case of this theory specifically, I have three main reasons.

1 - The vibes of the two characters themselves

Important note, I actually like both characters. I know some people have A Lot to say about Ayin, and honestly so do I (Probably different things but yea), but I generally don't mind him as much as some other people seem to.

I also love Dante.

And Specifically, I'll say- I like them both for Incredibly Different Reasons. Different enough reasons that I feel that mixing the two would ruin them both. I mean sure, Dante CLEARLY has something going on in the memories they can't yet remember, but honestly? Ayin already had his arc. HAD his chance in the spotlight- a whole game of it. I wouldn't mind a cameo, or reason for him to be important in some way, but I'd be crushed if all the reasons I've come to love Dante were smothered by "oops all Ayin"

I feel like it would make it almost... Pointless? "Oh yea this character may have had their whole character arc, but surprise! They aren't REALLY their own person and are instead this dude who already had his character arc!"

2 - They/Them Dante Supremacy™

Now, considering that the meme They/Them Dante post that I made blew up and is now my most popular post on my blog, I think its safe to say where I stand on the Dante's Pronouns part of everything-

I think it would be kind of... dismissive of that to make "Oh yea they were they/them to hide their identity" Because uhhh. Their identity is already hidden. We can't see their face. Literally anyone could have their head taken, a clock replaced, and that outfit slapped on and it generally wouldn't matter-

I feel like it kind of would send the message of "They can only count as they/them because their everything is hidden and we can't tell anyway" which??? No??? Even once Dante's actual head gets revealed, if people start switching calling them to whatever gender they look the most like and the game still uses they/them I'm Going To Bite People.

3 - ??

The least plot relevant, and the most just vibe based is- I just kinda feel like this type of reveal in writing often kinda feels like a cop out? I mean, I'm sure there's probably a well done version of one of these, but I sure as hell haven't found it yet-

I mean, in a BIG city with TONS of characters, there is SO MUCH plot that a character can have, without needing to jump back to a character that they already have. Sure- Project Moon Protags often have a Big Reveal, and its often Shocking- but does it really need to be a rehashed reveal from the first game? "boo he's old news get new material" ya know?

Usually, I only work on reader inserts (..hence my name lmfao) due to the lack of them in certain fandoms and or communities. Before I started adding my own works, some character/readers had a few or zero fics. There's hella examples of this as seen on these ao3 tags; King K. Rool/Reader, Antasma/Reader, Joka/Reader (the list goes ON AND ON). Even Dimentio/Reader and King Boo/Reader is hella lacking, even with my contributions. I ain't the best writer in the whole world and I'm still developing even today, but I'm happy to make fics where there is little to none. I remember a time where I wanted someone-- ANYONE to write a fic of certain characters, only to be sad day after day when nothing new shows up. Ofc I can't be everywhere at once, but I add to things when I can. I usually main the Mario fandom tho.

Howeeever, sometimes a old man toxic yaoi catches my eye (example.. urrm.. o- Red/Trenton from rainbow friends). Dimmy and KB have been my old-time favorites, and I hadn’t realized how much I enjoyed their pairing until I saw some of your more.. spicer art hehe. I've looked around, and was...'nt surprised to see no fics of KB/Dimentio lmfao. Rarepair, anyone? 🫴🍷. But yes! I have been workin on a spicyy fic for King Boo and Dimentio.
