“Just use the spatula to flip it around. Yeah, exactly like that.”

Ramon grinned at Fit over the heat of the stove. In his hand was a spatula he had pressed against ground beef. Earlier that day Ramon had mentioned wishing he could cook and well as soon as Fit and Pac heard that, they ran to make it a reality. They both stood around carefully watching as Ramon stirred and flipped the beef in the pan.

“You're doing amazing Ramon!” Pac praised as he watched the young boy.

“Obrigado, Pai,” Ramon signed, a grin spreading across his tiny face.

A loud crash was heard in the distance and they all turned, almost in sync to face where the noise had been heard.

“Hello?” Fit called out.

Moments later a sheepish Tubbo appeared at the opening to the kitchen. "Heyyyy guys."

“What the fuck was that crash?” Fit asked incredulously.

“Don't worry about it!” Tubbo said in a cherry voice before sliding up beside Pac. “What are we doing?”

“Cooking!” Ramon signed, with a smile. “Want to help?”

Fit started to say no but before he could Tubbo went, “Absolutely king! Let's do it.”

The next hour went by in the fastest most confusing blur of Fit's entire life. Somehow at the end of it all, him and Pac were standing at the corner of the kitchen gazing upon an entire sink full of dishes, a bag of flour completely dumped on the floor, jelly on the ceiling, and a single peanut somehow perched in Tubbo's fluffy hair. “Where the fuck did half this shit even come from??”

Pac laughed at Fit's pure exasperation and confusion as Tubbo and Ramon grinned at them both. “I think we learned a lot, Fitch! That was quite helpful!”

Fit side eyed him but sighed in resignation letting himself enjoy the moment. “Okay, Pac. We sure did learn a lot.”

"You should boss him around more often," Tubbo said with a wink in Pac's direction. "So much more fun when he just agrees with you."

Fit rolled his eyes, crossing his arms as Pac howled with laughter. "Oh shut up you two."

"You loveeeeee us," Tubbo said in a teasing voice, pulling the peanut out of his hair and pelting it at Fit who dodged it easily.

"Sadly I do," Fit said, resigning himself to more uproarious laughter.

When It Rains It Pours

Summary: A bad thunderstorm wakes Dewdrop in the middle of the night, and finds Aether half asleep on the couch in the ghoul common room.

Dewdrop rose with his heart pounding, a sickening cold chill seeping down his spine as the roaring thunder echoed loudly in his room. The sound of laborous rain pounded on his bedroom window. He tried to breathe, to calm himself but any efforts proved to be futile, as the storm barked ferociously, like a lion hunting its prey.

He stepped outside his bedroom, and tiptoed himself into the ghouls common room, where he was met with Aether, who was sprawled on the couch, deep in the transcendence between sleep and wakefulness. Dew turned on a soft light, careful to not startle the ghoul on the couch.

His hands shaky, he held onto his pajamas, as he anxiously pranced on the spot, wiggling his knees and flapping his elbows. He hesitated for a moment, before softly speaking

"Aether?"

Aether roused awake, concern raging in his eyes, as they fell upon the ghoul standing anxiously in front of him. He sighed, as he gestured for Dew to join him on the couch, seemingly notice the change.

"Are you...feeling small right now, Dew?" Aether asked, and a quick nod was all it took to confirm.

"I'm...scared, Aeae, can...I stay with you for a bit?"

"Hey, little droplet" Aether whispered, his voice flourishing with softness and comfort "you can stay here all you want"

"It's just a storm. We're safe here. You can be as small as you need to be right now."

He started to draw circles with his quintessence on Dew's palm, as he felt Dew relax slightly with his touch.

"...can...we...fire...and...cuddle...Aethy?"

"Yeah, of course, droplet" Aether lies down on the couch, as he lets Dewdrop rest his head against him, letting him listen to his heartbeat and the way his chest moved up and down. Dewdrop, finding comfort in the cadence, closed his eyes, letting the sounds of the storm outside blend with the soothing presence beside him.

Aether gently stroked Dew's hair, his fingers moving in a rhythmic pattern, a gesture that attempted to calm the anxious ghoul down. The fire continued to dance, casting shadows that painted a serene tableau in the common room.

As Dewdrop rested, he still raised his head with every flash of light that filled the room, only to be gently guided back to Aether's chest as he had words whispered into his ear "breathe, little one, breathe, we'll weather any storm together, droplet."

"Aethy?" Dewdrop voiced himself, as he grabbed Aether's shirt

"Yes?"

"Thankies, Aethy, I love you"

"I love you too, darling" was Aether's response.

"Can you...tuck me in bed? I want...sleepy"

"Yes of course, darling" Aether's voice carried a delicate tone. He gently took Dew's hand and guided him to his room, he lightly laid him on his bed. He covered the little ghoul with his favourite blankies, and planted a kiss on his forehead. The storm still rumbled on, but he felt a lot safer with the quintessence ghoul around him.

"...paci" Dew mewed, as he snuggled warm in the blankets.

"You want your dummy, firefly?"

Aether nodded, smiling gently. "Alright, let me grab it for you." He fetched Dewdrop's pacifier and handed it to him, his eyes glimmered as he noticed Dew gingerly flap his hands with delight.

"Sleep well, little one."

Dewdrop nodded, his eyes heavy with drowsiness. "G'night, Aethy."

As Aether left the room, he glanced back one more time, ensuring Dew was settled. The storm continued its symphony outside, but within those walls, a quiet warmth enveloped the room.

Aether sighed, and turned around. He crawled into the bedsheets, snuggling Dew against his chest, as Dewdrop filled the room with light purring, which transitioned into an eloquent snore. Aether held Dewdrop close, their silhouettes faintly visible in the soft glow of the room.

He will definitely try to hold his anger in and not take it out on you, even though you started it

If you push him too far, he will definitely yell at you

He definitely would not hit you, but he would yell at you really loud

He might even throw a glass cup on the ground and shatter it just to scare you and make you stop what you are doing

He will definitely avoid you for a little bit and he also doesn’t wanna make you any more scared than he already has. He doesn’t want you think that he is going to hit you

Eventually, he will come around and just hug you and give you affection as usual and then you guys will make up again!

Finral Roulacase Red Roses [Romance Headcanons]

As part of my Rose Garden Headcanons (Valentine's Day) Event 🌹, here is a bouquet of Red Roses (Romance Headcanons)❤️ for Finral below the cut! It's really nice to imagine Finral getting some nice red roses instead of giving them for a change🥰

(Warnings: Mentions Finral's insecurities. Vauge references to his childhood)

R1. Are they a particularly romantic person? What do they consider to be the ideal romantic gesture?

Finral is definitely a romantic person (at times perhaps even a little hopelessly so), and he loves grand, romantic gestures. In Finral's mind, his beloved deserves to be showered with love and attention, and since he thinks big, grand romantic gestures are a great way to show his beloved how much he cares, he does have a tendency to be a bit over the top with those at times. While he loves the more classic romantic gestures (those big bouquets of roses for instance), he is also incredibly thoughtful and attentive, so he would try to personalize his romantic gestures as best he could (i.e. getting a bouquet of his beloved's favourite flowers instead of just the usual roses or planning a romantic evening at a fancy restaurant his significant other had mentioned in passing a couple of times or going all out to celebrate anniversaries in the relationship such as the anniversary of their first date). Finral's ideal romantic gesture would likely be a good balance of grand and personal.

When it comes to a romantic gesture he'd like to receive, however, he isn't nearly so insistent on it being flashy or over-the-top. He has probably imagined receiving a grand romantic gesture someday ("I love you, Finral" written in fireworks perhaps), but in his experience, the small, impromptu but incredibly thoughtful gestures really mean the world to him too. Even just his beloved surprising him with his favourite food without being asked, giving him a gift "just because," or complimenting him are very special to Finral. Really, his significant other could say "Nice hair" one morning offhand, and Finral would just positively beam for the rest of the day. If Finral was being honest with himself, his dream romantic gesture would probably involve a verbal expression of love--to be told "These are all of the things that are wonderful about you" and "I love you" in some sort of romantic speech (being given some flowers at the same time would be nice too). 💚

R2. How would they tell you they loved you? (For instance, would they use words--planned out in a speech or accidentally blurted out? Or would they prefer to show you they loved you through their actions?)

It is incredibly important to Finral to express his love with his words. He would shower his beloved with compliments and "I love you"s (to the point of perhaps being a bit excessive but he means well). As much as he would like to have planned out a proper speech to express/confess his love, he would probably end up blurting it out before he had the opportunity for that. [Hopefully he wouldn't say "I love you" too early in the relationship... Even though it wouldn't be his intention to confess so early, he definitely has to guard against accidentally ending up in a "Somethin' Stupid" (YouTube) situation since he really is the type who'd confess without meaning to or even realising what he said, perhaps (A/N: Sorry, I know there is a love song question later, but I have another song for that 😅)]. If Finral did accidentally blurt out his love, he would most likely still read the speech he had been preparing and/or had been wanting to use to express his love, just at a later date.

Beyond verbal affirmations, Finral shows that he cares by being attentive and thoughtful. He loves to spend time with you and could listen to you talk for hours, showing a genuine curiosity towards your interests. He loves to give you presents "just because" (more often than not flowers and any other special items that you particularly like or collect) and absolutely adores sending love notes--sometimes they are lengthy and other times they're just a scrap of paper with "I love you" scribbled on it and hidden in your bag, coat pocket, or the book you're currently reading. He never seems to run out of compliments for you whether on your physical appearance, personality traits, accomplishments, or even the little details you think no one notices. Finral is not the type to shy away from saying "I love you," but you would know he did even if he didn't say it all the time because he is so incredibly kindhearted and generous--the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if you wanted it and who would do almost anything to make you happy. There is really no doubt that Finral loves with absolutely everything he has, and he doesn't ask for anything in return besides the opportunity to stay by your side and try his best to make you happy.

R3. What do they look for in a romantic relationship? What would make them feel the most loved and supported by a significant other?

Finral is a true romantic at heart and what he wants most of all is real, true, and unconditional love that will last. His constant flirtation isn't the result of him looking for meaningless flings--(as corny as it may sound) he really is genuinely, always looking for "real love" and hoping for this relationship to be "the one." He wants to share his life with someone who he cares for deeply and who loves him in return, and he has a lot of domestic dreams (i.e. getting married, settling down, and having a family of his own one day), so it would be important to him that his significant other also be open to the idea of that kind of domestic life. His ideal significant other would be someone Finral could imagine himself building a family with and growing old with. Someone with a good heart who is loyal and generous. Someone he could talk to for hours, could laugh with, and could sit with comfortably (even in silence) just enjoying each other's company. Someone who really knows him--who sees his strengths and his flaws and who loves and accepts him anyway.

Finral would feel most loved and supported by his significant other's verbal expressions of affection and encouragement. Being complimented, encouraged, and, of course, being told "I love you" regularly would really mean the world to Finral and make his heart so full. This is especially true if/when he expresses some sort of insecurity to his beloved. To be supported and accepted through that practically screams "I love you" to Finral more than if it was written in the sky in big letters. In Finral's life, he has never really felt that he is enough, that there is someone in the world who would want him after seeing everything he has (or, in Finral's insecure mind, doesn't have) to offer. To be told that he is enough, is wanted and is lovable just the way he is would really be everything to him.

R4. How would they react to being in love? Would they want to keep it a secret--would they even be able to? Would they be awkward about it or take it all in stride?

It really would depend on the situation. Finral is certainly no stranger to "falling in love," but there is definitely a big difference in how Finral would react to (for lack of a better term) "real love" versus just infatuation. Not that his feelings of attraction or infatuation are in any way disingenuous, but if he was experiencing something beyond that--a deeper, real love for someone, he would likely have a different response. In the many depictions of "Infatuated Finral" in the canon, he tends to get wrapped up in the rush of being "in love" which causes him to come on a little too strong in his wooing, but while he would certainly have just as strong of an emotional response to developing a love beyond just that initial attraction or infatuation, that "actual love" would most likely bring out a more awkward side of him. He is just as thoughtful and attentive and just as eager to sing the praises of his beloved, but he is a little less bold and perhaps even a little bit shy or insecure (in a very endearing way).

This would be especially true if he was falling in love with a friend or someone he knew very well. In that case, he would likely try his best to keep it a secret so he wouldn't put his beloved in the awkward position which would arise if Finral's love wasn't reciprocated (and poor Finral would never even begin to presume his love would be reciprocated by someone who actually knew him). Unfortunately, Finral's affection is not subtle so everyone would likely catch on pretty quickly to the fact that he was, in fact, in love, including his beloved (provided Finral doesn't fall for someone extremely oblivious).

Depending on the circumstances, Finral might try to deny his affections if questioned about them by other people (however, with his extremely close friends he might be forced to admit the truth because he's really a terrible liar and they'd see through him), but Finral is not the type who would deny his feelings to himself all that much. He may wrestle with them or try to talk himself out of them if he feels there isn't a chance his affection would be reciprocated, but it wouldn't stem from a place of denial--it's more of an acceptance that "Okay, yes, I love this person" followed immediately by the caveat "But I shouldn't." If Finral feels his love is particularly doomed, he might try to wait his feelings out and see if they go away and, in the meantime, might try to distance himself from his beloved (even if he didn't want to) out of fear of making things awkward or saying "something stupid" he would probably regret later (A/N: Okay I should probably just link the song in R5 after this many references...🙈). This kind of distant, somewhat awkward behavior would be very strange for Finral and would likely raise suspicions and reveal the fact that he has these romantic feelings that he was trying to hide in the first place. With some time, a little maturity, and possibly some emotional healing, Finral might get to the place where he can take his romantic attractions in stride regardless of the circumstances (i.e. not making a big deal about needing to express his feelings and not making a big deal about needing to hide them either) or so is the hope anyway. 😊 In the meantime, however, that might be a bit of a struggle for him...

R5. What is a love song that really suits them and why?

"Two" by Sleeping At Last really suits Finral who very much embodies the phrases "I will love you with every single thing I have" and "I will love you without any strings attached." In all of his relationships (whether platonic or romantic), Finral loves deeply, generously, and unconditionally without strings, limits, or expectations and, truthfully, wouldn't even dream of loving any other way. There is something really beautiful in that especially when taking into account how Finral was raised in an environment in which "love" was conditional and something to be earned.

Finral freely gives away the love he never received as child, and, in a way, he has really dedicated his life to caring for others before himself. Finral would push aside his own troubles in order to help his loved ones a million times over, but that doesn't mean that he isn't also in need of help. (i.e. "I just want to build you up, build you up/Till you're good as new/And maybe one day I will get around to fixing myself too") He will love "without a single string attached" and do whatever it takes to make his loved ones happy, but that doesn't diminish the fact that he also desperately wants to be loved and is truly starving for that same kind of unconditional love he gives away so freely (i.e. "I just want to love you, to love you, to love you well/I just want to learn how, somehow, to be loved myself").
