7 Deadly Diapers, Ch. 3: Gluttony pt. 2 (TW: addiction, weight shaming, and body shaming)

“Uhhhh How should I know?” Whitney cocked her eyebrow and in confusion, a chuff of humored air escaped her lips.

“Oh gee, I don’t know. Maybe because my gym bag was right where I left it this morning and now YOU’VE filled it with this! Was starving me not enough?” Ethan steamed.

“Look I really don’t know where all that stuff came from but why don’t you just—?”

“Grab some other clothes? Yeah yeah, I saw what you did to the wardrobe too! My clothes are all gone and all that’s left is shit like this!” Rifling in the bag for a moment he snakes out a pale blue, form fitting, snap-crotch baby onesie but sized up for an adult. Whitney covered her mouth to stifle any giggles. After a stutter she clears her throat.

“Okay Ethan, what’s going on? Where’d you even get that thing?”

“In our closet! Where YOU put it!— no. No! Fuck this. Fuck you. I’m not entertaining any of this anymore. Now if you aren’t gonna tell me where my shit is, I need something to wear to the gym.” He holds out his hand, “give me your sweater. C’mon.”

Whitney realized that this situation was quite confusing for the both of them, but the tone in Ethan’s voice threatened an argument she didn’t have any energy for after their last one five minutes ago. With a sigh, she works the sweater up and off of herself. Ethan watched with a tapping foot and a huff until he saw what laid beneath her bulky, unflattering top layer.

His eyes followed up to her belly button now nestled in a gently slimmer figure, then to her waist which smoothly swayed inward with healthy folds, and finally he was struck by sheer awe as he was introduced to her new, swollen, double D-cup boobs held up by a bra that practically buckled under their weight.

“W-whoa.. uh.. I..” he gulped and stuttered. The entirety of his demeanor shifted suddenly. His lips smacked hungrily as drool pooled in his mouth and started escaping his open jaws.

“Uh, Ethan?.. Hello! Earth to Ethan?!” Whitney snapped impatiently causing her husband to slurp up the string of slobber dangling off his lip and clear his throat. But she noticed where his line of sight was. “What are you looking at you perv..? Ugh do you want the sweater or not?”

Something stirred in his stomach however as he looked at the sweater and his wife’s ample bosom. He was met with a decision for where the conversation and their dynamic would go next. And he didn’t like what his brain craved more out of the two options. His stomach, however, was all too willing to give him away. It snarled hungrily.

GARGLLLLLGLLR!!

“Ahem. Uh.. pardon me.. erm.. about dinner. I’m.. sorry.” He scratched his head in shame.

“You’re what?”

“I’m sorry! Okay? Uh… I should be more.. thankful! And ready to drink— NO! EAT Whatever you prepare for me..” he approaches her. A crazed, desperate and almost addict-like look in his eyes, even going so far as to move her sweater-holding hand out of the way. She put her foot up haphazardly and unintentionally against his crotch to stop him.

“Whoa there, tiger! What’s your angle?” She said, bewildered by his unusual change of heart. But amidst her confusion, a pang of discomfort struck her in both nipples. She winced and grasped her breasts. Pulling her hands away she noticed a white substance left behind from their tips. She was lactating. But the revelations didn’t stop there. She couldn’t help but spot that her husband’s eyes were locked onto the puddle of rich milk in her palm like a junkie, ready to relapse.

Curious, she lifted her palm towards his face and after a terse moment of silent internal conflict… Ethan began to lap up the milk like a newborn kitten. Whitney’s thoughts began to wander somewhere a bit more devious watching her critical, body-shaming husband desire her breast milk so eagerly. Until finally she had her plan come together. A wry smile wrapped over her face.

“Oh yeah~? You want these puppies that bad? Gosh… You sure don’t look the part though…” she sultrily nods towards the gym-turned-diaper bag, letting her diabolical plot begin to unfold, “You know what I want you to put on. Chop chop, mister! The gym can wait…”

So, Rise of the Beasts!!

I saw it twice of the weekend, and I want to put down my honest thoughts.

Overall, I had a great time and I definitely think it's worth watching. Ignore the critic reviews for some reason they are offended that a Transformers movie exists to sell toys. You know, their sole purpose since the very beginning of inception. But OF COURSE I have THOUGHTS so...

Spoilers under the cut!

I liked the human characters for the most part. Noah's sudden onboard motives for going with the autobots to Peru was not as convincing but adventure needs to happen so I gave it a pass.

Mirage is like, DTF with Noah. Like he is SO ready for that tiny bf bff. It's obvious that Bee spoke so much about Charlie (cuz it seemed he was the only one who did talk positively about humans in their group) that Mirage was just. HIS BODY WAS READY.

CHARLIE WAS MENTIONED!!! AHHHHH!!! That was the one tiny smidgeon of a crumb that I wanted and they gave it to me. Granted it was implied when Optimus says "I know one was good to you, Bee" But I was told that the Latin America dub had him say Charlie's actual name. There was a SCENE that was cut out according to the Hollywood Reporter--that Bumblebee had also pulled out a polaroid pic that Charlie took of them together from the first movie here to show OP. HE'S BEEN CARRYING AROUND HER PICTURE ALL THESE YEARS I DIE WHY DID YOU CUT THIS OUT!!!

Mirage's abilities seem very arbitrary. And I do not like this. He can turn into several alt modes which seems to be only a thing that he can do... he can mass shift--which I know mass shifting is a thing but when he turns into a truck to sneak past the museum security I was like??? I was always under the impression that the bots could turn into a vehicle relative to their own actual size so this just confuses me. There is supposedly an earlier cut of the film where it was more clear that the trailer was another illusion. which I wish they kept in. Also when he becomes Noah's symbiote suit at the end?? Like, as a shipper and rule of cool I am into it, but as a person who wants rules to ground my science fiction I don't like how Mirage is just a swiss army knife for the writer's convenience. It feels lazy instead of taking the time to actually worldbuild. Nobody else can do these things.

The arbitrary mass shifting of him being as big or as small as he wants (like when he becomes Noah's exosuit) really falls apart when they keep insisting that they need the humans because only they can fit into small spaces. Well, clearly not cuz you can just do it yourself. AGAIN, PLEASE BE CONSISTENT WITH YOUR RULES.

Airazor x Elena. Anyone else????

speaking of which, I am very upset about what happens to Airazor. And we never even got to see her transform. tragic.

Optimus sure was a negative nancy which--I understand why but I hope they ease up on edgy "i will rip everyone's faces off" Optimus because it feels disingenuous to his character to keep it going for too long. Like I get it, they killed your fave child so I will forgive you but also I want more of "Be strong enough to be gentle" Optimus. Not the edgelord Bayverse Optimus that they are clearly going for cuz the know certain :ahem: fans like that.

Beeeee. They put him out of commission which again, according to interviews they did just so they could make sure he doesn't steal the spotlight and give a chance for the other characters to shine lmao. He is too powerful. But also because we shots of him in the trailers, I was not too worried about Bee staying out of commission. But goddamn when if I still wasn't hyped as hell when he made his comeback. 10/10 he proves he's still the GOAT.

I hate Pablo/Wheeljack. No, after seeing the movie my opinion of him did not improve in fact it got so much worse. His design was the LEAST of his problems. Every moment he was on screen was deeply cringe. And he barely did anything!! He could have not been in the movie at all and it wouldn't have made a difference and I genuinely believe it would have been a better film. All this hullaballoo over Pablo and this is what we got. Wheeljack fans lost hard after all that defense I'm sorry this ain't it.

Hey speaking of bots that barely got any lines or screentime, wtf was up with Rhinox and Cheetor? My boys got shafted :(

There was a moment where OP is asking the bots if they detected the terrorcons and Arcee WHO IS SITTING in the pablo van was like "lol nope" and I was like GURL how could you, you're in a van. And it made no sense because don't you also have an altmode??? Shouldn't you be scouting outside to cover more ground???

I firmly believe the only had Arcee sitting in there like a dumb duck because they wanted Wheeljack to make a dumb joke in the original cut about how it was a long time since she was inside him. UGHUGHUGH.

Did I mention how glad I am that they cut the majority of Wheeljack's screentime since it was so awful especially his and Arcee's implied romance? Especially since they killed off the other femmes so the only one we got now has to have a mandatory romance. No thanks. Glad that nonsense is gone.

The Maximals' robot modes were very minimal. and they went by so fast I never got a good look at their designs.

I loved how the Maximals were harmoniously living with the native tribe--and speaking their language!

Scourge's face reveal seemed to be treated like it was a big deal but when we saw him it was just... guy without his wig on. Literally the surprise is that he is bald.

Noah x Mirage is very strong good. I have no doubt the fandom will be all over it since they seem to eat up BL romance much more readily and I am all for it. They also have all the great ingredients for it--flirting, drift compatibility, self sacrifice for the other. Another human x transformer ship for the books.

I'm sure there are some ppl who like the ending. but I.... did not. I do not want to see G.I.Joes in my transformers I'm sorry. I don't want the return of military propaganda or more introductions to several human characters that take away from the transformers. I don't want to see them exploited or used for our own human affairs--even if it's a fictional cult-- when they could be literally fighting Decepticons or Unicron or whatever. People might have wanted them in Bayverse cuz it was heavily skewed Military in those films but I don't want to see it again. It was a terrible, dark time. the Joes might be presented as good guys but I don't trust the military in general and I don't see their motives as altruistic--especially if their goal is to use them for their own purposes. Why would they help them get home? They wouldn't, if just to keep their best weapons--and Noah is bait. He is bait and he will fall for it hook line and sinker because they are bribing him with his brother's healthcare and the fact that he is struggling to find work elsewhere.I hope if they are to be involved at all it will be relegated to characters here and there but they stay in their own movies if they have to ride on Transformers coattails to revive an irrelevant struggling franchise.

There was minimal human injuries/death and I appreciate that. They did the DBZ thing where they took their fight to remote locations. This probably won't keep up if they introduce the Joes :/

Overall, 8/10. I had a fun time. I didn't love it as much as Bumblebee but it was definitely miles better than Bayverse (a low bar I know). The action was clear, the characters likable, the CGI mostly stellar. I have hope that they will bring back Charlie maybe. But hey, I took my parents to it the second time around and my Mom liked Mirage and my Dad did not fall asleep so I will consider that a stamp of approval.

Everytime I engage with another fandom, I am reminded of how much of a chiller environment Sunnyblr is. For all of Sunnyblr's faults, we really do have it good, all things considered. Here, we take differences in opinions in a relative slide. Sure, we have our popular ships (ahem, Macden), but no one is competitive or feels that the existence of one ship negates the existence of another. Hell, I swear we are all one post away from agreeing that The Gang are in a queer platonic and romantic polyamorus relationship.

But most importantly, we embrace the toxicity of our characters. We don't pretend The Gang fits into real-world morality- or more accurately, we don't care. Fiction (and the real world) is way more fun when you realize everyone is an idiot who has done bad things. It doesn't mean they are unworthy of love or should be criticized to death. It just means they are human- and in our case, very shitty humans who zero have regard for anyone but themselves.

So yeah, shout out to everyone who continues to make a Sunnyblr a genuinely nice place to manically theorize, sprout nonsensical bullshit, and just exist in an echo chamber of pure affection for our favorite show.

The Remus and Sirius height discourse has become so loaded. Today I saw a post claiming that viewing Sirius as taller than Remus means that one supports jkr? (What?)

Canonically, Sirius is taller than Remus. That's just a fact. And I understand that some people don't care about canon, and that's cool!! But even if you don't give a flying fig about canon, that does not make the view that Remus is taller than Sirius any more valid than the reverse, and you can't go around telling other people that they are wrong, or worse, bad people for not agreeing with a version of the character that exists in your head?

Look I get that it would be annoying to have people inject an "ahem actually..." on posts that are clearly based on headcanons. I get that. But that is the natural consequence of taking the names/tags of characters from popular fandoms and using them for your own OCs, and the fact that these fans jump to "they must be horrible people!" as opposed to "they might be confused about my relationship with canon" is... something.

As someone who is neurodivergent, I find that the fandom that claims to love diversity has very little tolerance for people who don't understand the unwritten rules about when canon is and isn't allowed to be used as a reference point. (Somehow, we still hate Snape because canon, but all other canon is garbage?) Sorry for the rant, I'm just tired and confused.

don't be sorry at all, i think this kind of thing needs to be talked about because at its worst, this rhetoric is an attempt at emotional manipulation and censorship. nobody is ever going to 100% agree even with the exact same words on a page - this is the entire literary criticism field, most of the time variation in readings are a good thing but this isn't even a "reading", because it has no bearing on the characters, they just are or aren't a certain height, so it becomes a tool for personal agendas - "if you think sirius was tall, you're a fascist". even though those two facts are not connected, because sirius' height is never anything more than a physical description of him. and it's glaringly obvious that the people who fixate on this aren't interested in sirius as a character, just as a vehicle for their own fantasies/validation.

this is the problem that comes from people trying to put dynamics & personalities that they want to see onto characters who don't fit those moulds. the height thing doesn't actually matter, it doesn't change anything in the narrative, but it summarises the attitude towards canon which for me summarises critical reading & reading comprehension as a whole within hp fandom. i don't think canon is perfect and i don't think it's sacred but i don't understand why you would engage with something that you have to twist out of recognition in order to enjoy it.

part of the fun of fandom, for me, is finding the limits and boundaries while maintaining recognition. at the very least, even if you change everything else, character has to be consistent. you have to recognise who you're working with otherwise what are you doing here? other authors are writing and have written exactly what you want, so why do you need this character with a history and motivations and a distinctive personality to be the ideal version of you/the partner you want (because lbr, that's it!). i'm not saying that people can't use their imaginations and bend things, i do it, and people can do that by bending characters out of recognition if they want. i don't get any enjoyment out of that or see the point in it but i'm not going to try and stop people. it's the flagrant dismissal of logic and evidence that i think is a more dangerous stance when applied more widely.

it's ALWAYS the people who want remus to be taller and sirius to be tiny who have 10 million personal reasons why they need it to be that way around despite it being clear that sirius is specifically tall, and remus is of such average and nondescript height that it's never mentioned. it's nobody else's responsibility to validate anyone's projections onto a fictional character, and your personal reasons for wanting a character to behave in a way that they wouldn't isn't anybody's responsibility. i don't think these kind of people see the irony in how they're trying to force their view on everyone else even though there's direct contradiction to it, yet are claiming that people who go with that feature from the text are violent fanaticists or something.

when you question why it makes such a difference to the "big strong remus and baby boi sirius" people, it comes down to "it's cuter" or "it allows me to simplify m/m relationships into tough and cute and use physical attributes as symbols rather than thinking complexly about personality traits and dynamics." the height thing is basically one step away from top/bottom discourse and just because someone identifies as queer or relates to a character doesn't make it unproblematic. if you need to see a character who represents your specific circumstances, find one or make an original one, imo. it's not an entire fandom's job to validate individuals and it's manipulative to suggest that someone else seeing a character according to the way that character is explicitly described is an act of hatred or violence or something.

apologies if this turned into a rant of its own - i don't CARE that sirius is tall but the attitude towards minor, basic facts is wild to me. it makes no difference to me but idk why you would take being taller than snape away from sirius bc he clearly enjoys being able to tower over him. if i did want to argue that sirius' height makes a difference in the text, i'd say that sirius is tall because padfoot is also a large creature and there seems to be some kind of reflection of the human in animagus forms, whereas the whole werewolf thing is something inflicted externally rather than something that comes from within the person so remus' human height isn't reflected by his lycanthropy. but that's a whole other question i would have to research more.

Phantom bride event-Seeing you in formal wear (suit/wedding dress/whatever) Pt. 1

WARNINGS: Yandere themes, obsession, possessiveness, violence, marriage, murder

Leona never thought that he would be touched by a person wearing a specific piece or multiple specific pieces of clothing

But nu-uh! He is barely hanging there

So you are there even after all of them failed to make miss blue bride fall in love with them

And then our local neighborhood lion bluescreens

Reason for that? Well... he might have had that fantasy when he was still younger to marry the esteemed Overseer at some point of his life

U know, like those imaginary crushes kids have because they still don't know what love really is just with him being neglected and all of that... ouch

Later on he became more mature and knew that he couldn't marry a person who was basically worlds apart from him but... you don't need to want things consciously, the subconscience is also a thing

So then you walk in, all black or white and his soul just left his body

May or may not he definitely will remember this moment for all eternity

Like, he imagines himself at the other end of the way, dressed in clothes for a wedding himself...

And then he questiones if the food Ruggie brought him earlier was poisoned and he starts to hallucinate

He doesn't want to admit that those are his and only his thoughts alone

The entire time ha can't take his eyes off of you

But then he realizes that he could never marry you in such a way because there would simply be too many eyes on you

The only reason why he hasn'ttired to bite Vil who stands besides him is because technically, this isn't even his own wedding and because you are doing this to fool the princess

I would recommend being careful after this because who knows how long he can endure before he snaps and forces you to marry him for real?

If you were anybody else and he wouldn't be in such a situation he would have criticized how little work you put into yourself

That suit isn't tailored to fit perfectly and your hair also isn't styled and your makeup!!! You done even wear any at the moment!!!

In other words: under normal circumstances he would have slapped you for being neglectful on such a special day

But now he is questioning how what color of eyeshadow would match your clothing on your wedding

You think he wouldn't try to get you to fall for him after you came into his world??! Think careful sweety!

He has already planned what flowers to get, your wedding venue and the champa- ah yeah this is a blog also for minors... *ahem* “refreshments” you would drink on that day

If he could move then he would call that one designer specialized on clothing for weddings which no normal person could finance

The second that “damn spoiled brat” would squeal and say that you are perfect he rips the clothing apart within his mind

This belongs to him and him only!

He has worked until his family told him to keep it easy or else he would collapse just to be somewhat good on the eye for you!

And what has she done??! Sitting at a window and starting out whilst dreaming about her prince charming with that damned dog and a white horse which could sing and much more!

If she wasn't dead already then he would make sure that would be the case

He is mad

So all he can do is just stare and curse in his mind (u think he would say that? Nah he has to keep up appearances) whilst reminding himself to search later for ways to exorcise ghosts

Safe to say that he won't let anyone see you after your wedding in the future (which will happen) simply out of jealousy and if someone does then... he is good with potions you know?

Just don't ask where he got your size to to a T. Just... don't...

I think Jack would have already known that he would like to marry at some point at his life

He just didn't know that the subject could make him feel so much like he wanted to rip someones head off

Until now he didn't even spare it much thought

Just that he would most likely live in a nice little cottage in the woods whilst being happy

And as you might have realized, this doesn't include feral, head ripping off, absolutely dangerous wolf

But Jack can control himself! I think

Truth to be told, he might be a better impersonation of the wolf from red riding hood instead of his role in Savannaclaw

You know, with all that eating other people up and that...

At this point the nanny should have said “thank goodness we are already dead” instead of weeping about it because... yeah sharp teeth you get me

But let's talk about his reaction when he saw you

Just head in the clouds, flying higher than cloud nine (probably at ninety)

But then he remembered that you are proposing to someone else who isn't himself and now I start to think that the title “red riding hood” should have rather been “blue riding hood”

There isn't much to say, just pure anger, madness and bloodlust

But he does like you in that clothing

Suits you and makes him realize that those kind of shoes should probably not be worn at your wedding with him because you are shaking so much in them

The man over here doesn't realize that this is the case because you are 50% scared of turning into a removable observer and 50% scared of the look in his eyes

So uh... red roses or lilies? What? I'm just asking. There is no way you can escape a wedding with him in the future after this.

Ahem ahem, If I may rant a bit about Little Nightmares 3 with my thoughts on the trailer announcement + my predictions on how the game will go... cause I'm still freaking out and I'm so excited for this

Kind of a deserted, post apocalyptic theme, possibly associated with dangers of radiation or toxic waste of some sorts? I assumed because of Alone's gas mask design especially + Low's design is very post apocalyptic-like, and also from some of the enemies in the trailer. (Specifically about the obviously unnaturally big doll monster, and the bunch of human hands that crawled out of the sewer kinda resembling a humanoid spider creature for all we can see, maybe some of the enemies have been affected by whatever bigger danger this story may try to convey. I mean, characters from previous games were also unnatural looking, but for what I remember their designs and stories were fit of that very dark supernatural theme, as for this one in contrast seems to be going on a different kind of territory IN the means of supernatural, mixing a bit of more ""realistic"" tones to it)

The official podcast "the sounds of nightmares" seem to be going on a scientific/psychological evaluation and or experiments route, which I think grounds the story a little more, but at the same time I have NO idea how its narrative is going to relate to the game's itself lol something about dreams... hmmm

There is mirror travelling ig, that's super cool, but so far, I got no idea what it means 👍

I thought it would be a risky decision to leave the primary claustrophobic environment of the previous games and chose to go for a brighter, more "open world"(?) look for the main characters to adventure on, but at the same time, this setting can still be well explored on a horror perspective, despite me not seeing much of this theme being executed at all in any media I've consumed so far lol. I imagine it could be a great opportunity to contrast jumps between the game's levels, as in one stage you're out on the open desert and the other you fall into a darker area to explore through

Although I have my criticisms on some of Supermassive games' stuff, I'm still very fond of their work and takes on horror videogames in general, so I trust little nightmares 3 is in very good hands 👍

The ost is going to be awesome, the song in the trailer gave me goosebumps ngl

I believe we're not going to/are barely going to see Mono or Six in this story. Their arc was pretty well constructed beggining to end, but the lack of appearances of the two, at least for me, is not a negative thing at all! I think Low and Alone's story is going to focus on the world building through different lenses rather than exploring further what we already knew before. Mono and Six may be vaguely mentioned but not crucial to the sequel ig

Just a side note I'm a terrible game theorist, so if I said stuff that clearly contradicts something in the trailer or franchise, I am very sorry, I can't help I'm very inattentive most of the time, this is embarrassingenfjenfjebrk😫

I watched a full gameplay of the first and second game like, years ago- and only now I got the opportunity to play LN by myself. I finished the first game, went half of the dlc (I'm taking a break from it bcs it's so difficult for me and the switch version takes almost a full minute to reload after I die..) and I'm currently mid way through the second, although I still remember most of the stuff that will happen in its story. I'm following the episodes of the recent podcast, and I'm going to seach for the webcomic for me to read, yahooooo!!!

NOBODY asked for this post but I DO NOT CARE, little nightmares fascinates me from story, to gameplay, to visuals. It's one of a kind on its storytelling and art. Just my thing and I care about it very much. But that's it thanks for listening to my insanity arc

You two were the complete opposites of each other.

Illumi would rather wear dark-themed clothing, never in his life touched a color that was too bright for the eyes. You would wear pastels or anything bright that fits your daily mood, even if it was too much.

When standing next to each other it was like coal placed next to an ornament, not very compatible looking. But they do say opposites attract one another yes?

“Oh illumi look!” You exclaimed and quickly went up to a window that showed puppies playing with each other. “They’re so cuteee! Can we have one pleaseee!?” You pleaded and looked at Illumi with a pout and puppy dog eyes.

“No.” He firmly said making you sulk.

“I’ll be back for you just wait.” You whispered to one of the puppies as Illumi dragged you away from the glass. “I can’t believe a man would dress like that of all things.

He looks like he dressed in the dark.” Some man said loud and clear for you to hear while making direct eye contact with you.

“Fucking sickening.” Illumi had turned his attention away from the man and onto you, you were visibly sulking like a deflated balloon.

“Are you alright?” Illumi question you as he did a little squeeze with your hand. “I’m fine! Let’s just…let’s just go home..” You said with a quick smile. Illumi clicked his teeth and took note of what the man looked like as the two of you walked home.

The next day was even worse, you were more sluggish and just looked upset. What that guy said struck a nerve. “You want something sweet dear?” Illumi asked as you watched tv on the couch.

“No..” You grumbled making Illumi frown a bit. “Want to go for a walk?” You shook your head and brought your attention back onto the tv. For the next few days, you barely dressed in your usual attire and didn’t even bother leaving the house with Illumi.

That was the last straw before Illumi left for a bit and searched for the man that had ruined your whole week and took care of him in the nicest way possible.

“I’m home,” Illumi said as he took his shoes off by the door. “Welcome back.” You said with a small smile. Illumi sat down next to you and rested your head on his lap and changed the channel to the news.

The news lady explained the death of a certain man and showed a picture of his face. “How odd...I wonder who did that.” You hummed but shrugged it off. Illumi had the biggest grin he could muster up, it was pretty unsettling.

That grin had gone away when he looked at you. “Ice cream?” He offered making you spring up, nearly hitting him in the chin with your head.

“Hell yeah!” You exclaimed, and just like that, you were back to how you originally were.

I absolutely adore writing, reading and exploring outside, urbex is the best thing I've ever known in my entire life. I'm also trilingual ! I just like languages so I'm studying them, probably to travel later although I might just change and get a bachlors degree in psychology just so I can help people. I also love swimming, favorite sport ngl. I forgot to mention, my pronouns are she/her and I'm bisexual though I lean a little more towards women (bless them).

In terms of personality I'd say I'm pretty shy and quiet with strangers but once I know them I'm a goofy dumbass and seem pretty extroverted because I become rather chatty. People have mentioned how intimidating I look, I'm about 5'8 and fairly fit with broad shoulders. So some have approached me out of curiosity and because I look mysterious (their words not mine). Though I'm a big teddy bear, my love language is physical touch and quality time after all.

Aside from my height I have middle length wavy (mb fluffy too ig) brown hair and brown eyes. I wear glasses or else I can't see crap. My clothing style is rather tomboyish, I prefer brown and beige colours and wear pretty simple things (tho I make them stylish).

I have a series of questions about Legally Binding bear with me, this is all merely speculation and possibly too much all at once so I apologize in advance.

How young was R when she’d been forced to start acting and singing?

I read somewhere on your page that you answered early teens! And you referenced Zendaya so I’m assuming she got her big break at possibly 14 and before that moderately small acting gigs?

R definitely seems to have a passion for music but how often does she get to produce?

She also seems like the type to make music more for herself than to share with the public given her history, I think not only something she really enjoys but uses as an outlet to cope with things.

Can you give us a few songs as reference to what music R’s produced?

I’m interested in listening to them from R’s POV! Personally, I thought of Never Felt So Alone by Labrinyth. I have no fucking clue at all what song R’s creating right now and I’m assuming since it’s for Coachella it has to be upbeat but might I suggest thinking about Good News by Mac Miller. Pfft or even The Spins by Mac Miller, fun, cocky and memorable like R.

Is there someone else in particular besides her family that made her start to think of everything she does in public from a ‘business standpoint’?

What character in the MCU does R play?

For me the first character that came to mind is possibly someone from the Spider-Verse! I mean why not bend some truths and pretend there’s one Spider-Verse comic that fits R’s description? I think it would align with the fact that R’s been an actor since her teen years and by now if a few movies have been released; her Spider-Verse character has got to be aligned with her age!

Hmm so I’ve read through someone else’s asks and you mentioned not having enough time to look up tv shows and movies aligning with R’s age. I was thinking for some of them, why not just have R’s character in said projects be someone that doesn’t necessarily exist in the current adaptation but is popular anyways?

I think yes early teens like 13 or 14 possibly. I think somewhere in my head Justin Bieber was lowkey a reference for R's character.

R gets her big break as a teen and does roles for smaller movies that gain her critical acclaim until major studios recognize her. (Sorry to Hailee but maybe Edge of Seventeen as one of those movies LOL) Before def small roles. (Idk what good movies have a 13 or 14 year old soooo)

I feel like with R's family background & starting so young it made her grow up faster than most. lmao sure king, i know youre probably thinking of the "criticisms of eddsworld" post that i had in my drafts but i need to finish that. instead so nobody is hungry, ill post the script of me "the end of the eddsworld discord server" here and honestly i have always felt safer here. i left twitter because of certain people and certain feelings. mental health is shit and my paranoia is shitter.

The End of the Eddsworld Discord Server

Well- Cuts to - yes im using the dementia music, this video was supposed to come out before or even close after the closure of the server. Stuff happened and I’m tired. Please excuse what I say that may not matter anymore. I just want to get a video out and it starts by pushing this. ZZZZZZZZ. Happy Halloween or Christmas honestly it could be either.

I suppose it was going to happen at some point, it’s finally the end of the eddsworld discord server. Well expect for the patrons, they still get to do whatever lol. If you’re not in the loop, eddsworld had a discord server, to sum it up it was a place to converse with fellow edd-heads and well isn’t amino. But of course, it doesn’t come out with its own flaws. I mean there was a whole twitter account to showing the weird side of it. It’s over, the eddsworld discord is dead. Whatever the fuck all this is, is gone. Originally this was going to be made a few days before the closure of the discord but I got busy. Busy to the point where the discord server closed like a month ago [THAT’S SO FUNNY SKALULI ITS BEEN EVEN MORE MONTHS] and I’ve only started this script now. It’s called poor time management, don’t be me. [AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA] So, let’s just attempt to bullet point this stuff. Also warning now, I might not have screenshots of everything and I can’t get anything else because well paywall, and even if I did pay, I don’t even know if the original chat still exists. AAAAAA, anyway. I guess I shall start with the “paywall”. So as you know or maybe didn’t or didn’t hear what I said before, the eddsworld server technically didn’t close, just to access the chats and stuff you have to be a patron. But listen kings we get the bloody announcements and twitter feed, yeAHHH. Ahem. Some questions being asked were along the lines of, well why didn’t you just make a separate patron server. Therefore, people not paying still get a somewhere to talk to other eddsworld fans under moderation. Of course, many questions like that and more being asked because well this kinda came out of nowhere. One of the issues is the fact that nobody was answering any of the questions being asked. Avoiding it essentially. Saying things out of the blue, I assume to try and calm the scenario that was created.

Which well got people angry, because well they have a reason to, and you can not deny that. But the thing is the anger got so out of hand that people just started death threating mods. A big note I have to make is that the mods, the crew of which is not Chris or Matthew, and or any of the pateron supporters had a choice in this. They most likely didn’t even know it was coming. You shouldn’t death threat mods and not even just mods just other patreon supporters. [I don’t have screenshots of this but im going by word of someone who said that that was happening to them.] You don’t need me telling you this, it’s basic knowledge. But you do know why they’re doing it though. Because what do you expect by suddenly taking a once-free community and putting a pay-wall over it. Of course people are going to be upset and lash out, even to these extremes. Yes the mods don’t deserve to get treated like this, but they’re getting treated that way by the fans in this case because of what you did. You being Chris and or Matthew. And you yourself not answering on behalf of mods. Leaving themselves having to speak for themselves on a situation that they had no control over. Having to dose the fires of a fire they didn’t even start. An issue being said that the server was getting to out of hand, so it’d just be easier to do what they did [kill the server]. But then why don’t you just hire more mods to manage the community you created? Who knows.

Also not to put my own opinion in here but I kept seeing messages being like “Edd wouldn’t have wanted this” what the fuck. No offense but don’t say that, never say that. Stop. Just pretty please don’t try to speak on behalf on a man that’s been dead for over a decade and act like you would know what he would have wanted. Sorry for the tangent just I see this happening when whatever happens and kids commenting “Edd wouldn’t have wanted this.” Please shush.

Listen I hate kids, I know they can be dumb as shit, I mean after just hearing all that especially. But also, at the end of the day I care about them and if they like and feel safe in the hell of the eddsworld server than you shouldn’t take it away from them. I understand that fan servers are being made but oh god my paranoia of something going wrong since it doesn’t have “trusted moderation” I’m not sure how to put it. It was really only the official safe space to communicate with other eddheads. I just worry that there will be some with ill intentions. I think you can allow me to think that at this point.

And to end it all off, you know how the server’s purpose was just to keep patron content to patrons.

Damn that sure did work.

[Note I didn’t write this “now” I wrote this a few days after I mashed this script together.] Okay originally the script ends there on a somewhat snarky remark but while pacing I thought about how I want to make sure my point gets across. I make these videos to help and not harm, by saying that I mean there seems to be a lack of communication between the fans and the crew. And personally, myself I want to try and make a bridge between the two, my own attempts being to show each side and see everything through a different view. Not only I criticize the fans because I want them to improve, I criticize eddsworld because I want the same out of them. Neither is better than the other.

Do you think zuko is a horrible brother to Azula? given ahem….certain….blogs seem to spout this

I find it incredibly telling that these certain blogs will spout this nonsense while never, ever, suggesting that maybe Azula could have been a better sibling to Zuko, and will go on about how you can't blame Azula for how she treated Zuko because she was abused, and about how, actually, she really loves him, honest, and try to twist every situation in which Azula hurt Zuko into an act of kindness which Zuko is just so ungrateful for, but won't extend the same sympathy to Zuko even though Zuko has far more sympathy for Azula than she ever deserved, and what she deserves from him is absolutely nothing since she tormented him for their entire lives and felt entirely justified in doing so.

Zuko was raised with the mindset that he was less than his sister and deserved to be mistreated, and was abused by his father who also encouraged his sister to abuse him. How is he supposed to be a "good brother" to her in that situation? He wasn't expected to be a good brother, he was expected to be a scapegoat. Criticizing him for not being a "good brother" when he was expected to be a punching bag is victim blaming garbage.

Even then, Ursa did try to encourage the children to have a good relationship and we see Zuko try to be a good brother, like that moment when he expects Iroh to say that he should try to get along with her because she's his sister, which I think probably came from Ursa but also comes from the idea that he blames himself for his bad relationship with her, because he's internalized the idea that he is the problem, because that's what he's been taught to believe. (It's also worth noting that Zuko thought Iroh would say this because it fits with what we know of Iroh as a person, which also means that, contrary to the beliefs of these certain blogs, Iroh did not have this weird vendetta against Azula even though she clearly hated him.)

The fact that Zuko blames himself for his family not getting along is also why, as angry and fearful of Azula as we see him be in the series, he still ends up believing her and seeking her out for advice, even while resenting her. I've argued before that he's emotionally dependent upon her in a way that a lot of abused kids end up being, because he was conditioned to believe that she was better and stronger than him.

Azula is also emotionally dependent upon Zuko, but in the opposite way. Because she was taught that she had to be better than him, she depends upon Zuko being brought low to lift herself up. I think this also creates a curious contradiction in Azula where she both expects Zuko to be the weaker and lesser sibling and also resents him for it, because her big brother is supposed to be stronger than her, but Zuko is not supposed to be those things.

Zuko was never allowed to be a good big brother to Azula, but we do see him want to be. We see in the comics him saying that she's still his sister and he wants to help her, we see him envious of the bond Sokka and Katara have, we see him internalize what the Earth Kingdom scholar says about family reflecting on rulership and blaming himself for institutionalizing her (even though she tried to kill him), and we see him as a young child ask his mother why she has to be so mean.

We also see Zuko as a child in "Zuko Alone" try to appeal to Azula's empathy when she says Iroh should die so that their father can take the throne. We see him be dragged along with her to spy on Azulon and Ozai even though he's clearly scared. He also told his mother he didn't want to play with her on another occasion, but that's a pretty reasonable thing since hanging out with Azula often ends in him getting scared or hurt, and this was something that was sanctioned by their own father. Even so, he's a far better sibling to her than she ever is to him, even considering both that he was never allowed to really be a good brother and that he's entirely in the right for hating her and would be in the right to want nothing to do with her.

I once saw a post claiming that the lack of filial piety in the Fire Nation royal family was culturally inaccurate, specifically mentioning Azula's lack of piety towards her older brother, and the thing is, what that post was missing is that this is not a cultural inaccuracy, but a sign of the abusive dynamic that was going on in that family. The breakdown of social norms is one of the signs of the FN family's dysfunction. Ozai resented his own father and older brother and thus put his younger child on a pedestal and put down his oldest son. Zuko acts younger and more subservient than Azula because that's how he's treated. He resents this role because it's abusive and cruel, and he has every right to.

Which is not to say that the concept of filial piety itself is above criticism. It's inherently misogynistic, for one, and also can create a situation where parents can get away with abusing their children. Ozai himself, while disregarding filial piety towards his father and older brother, absolutely expects his own children to show him filial piety to abusive levels.

I also think the concept of filial piety informs Ozai and Azula's abuse of Zuko. Because Zuko is not the big brother that commands respect, and can't be, that's used as a justification for his abuse. It's a chicken and egg cycle. Zuko is encouraged to believe he's not good enough, and then is punished for fulfilling that role, and punished for trying to step outside it.

Zuko fighting back when Azula is literally trying to kill him is also used to paint him as not a "good big brother" and that's just plain old victim blaming.

To sum, Zuko is a better brother to Azula than she ever was a good sister to him and even if he wasn't, he doesn't owe her that at all, and even when he tries to be, because he's a good person and won't abandon his sister when she needs help, she takes the opportunity to verbally berate him, physically attack him, and put everyone around him in danger, and Zuko has no obligation to put himself through that for someone who would never do half of it for him. Which we know because when Zuko was in need, Azula took the opportunity to use his fear to manipulate him and forced him to maintain a lie she told that put him in danger.

S1 E2 Compulsion

It is a calm day at the BAU spend with finishing the paperwork from the last case. Everyone is quietly working except for Reid who already finished his. He is now playing chess against himself trying to firgure out a way to beat Gideon when said man steps up from behind him, sets him check and walks away again.

“You know you’ll beat him if you start learning.“ Morgen taunts at Reid’s pouting. “Learning What?“ “To think outside the box.“ Before Reid could answer again Elle comes up behind them asking about the footpath killer’s stutter, but that is a question Gideon has answered neither of them.

Reid listens to Elle and JJ introducing themselves to each other when Hotch comes out of his office “BAU-Team, can you meet me in the conference room, please? I need to show zou something.” He asks into the bullpen while walking towards the conference room himself.

“This is from the Phoenix office, Bradshaw College in Tempe, 6 fires in 7 months.” Hotch explains while showing his team a video recording of a student burning alive in his dorm.

At Campus they immediately meet with the director and the fire inspector realizing that they have to move act fast since flammable chemicals have been taken from the laps this morning.

So far the unsub acts completely out of pattern. Different than other arsonists he doesn’t set the fires to watch them. He would not have been able to see what was happening inside the dormroom. Futhermore the team concludes that the typical motives for arson don’t fit here as well. “The unsub doesn’t see the people as people but as chess pieces. They are just part of his game” Reid concludes.

Shortly after another fire accursed involving a teacher Gideon failed to safe in time when a student, a research assistant at the science department offers their help. Hotch and Reid go together to interview the students when Hotch successes that Reid talks to them since he is closer in age and the students might be more comfortable around him.

Reid starts nervously scratching at his hands again. He might be closer in age but this does not make this interaction easier for him. He has no idea what he is supposed to say and starts rambling about who he is and what he is working as “ Ahem. Hi- hi, guys. Uh, my name's, uh, Dr. Spencer Reid. I'm a, uh, agent with the- the BAU, the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI, which, um, it used to be called the BSU, the Behavioral Science Unit, but not anymore. They changed it to the BAU. Um, it's part of the NCAVC, the National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime which is also part of this thing called the CIRG, the Critical Incident Response Group, and-“

He knows he is completely of topic but that does not make it less embarrassing when Hotch chooses to interrupt him. “What he is trying to say is we would love to know how you can help us” Hotch explains with a amused smile.

At that Reid tries to make himself appear smaller and retreats a bit further back into the room, away from prying eyes. After the student took the lightbulb, that was used to set the fire from Hotch, Hotch also moves to stand next to Reid again, putting a hand on his subordinate’s arm for a short moment hoping to offer some comfort. He hopes Reid knows that he won’t hold this against him. Hotch knows how much his young agent struggles with social interactions after all, even more when he isn’t prepared for the situation. But he thought that maybe this would be a good learning experience for Reid, though now he realizes that maybe he should have warned Reid of his plan beforehand.

They both listen as the students explain how the unsub used the lightbulb to set the last fire and how easy it is with some simple ingredients and an manuell from the internet. One of the girls lists the ingredients for a homemade Molotov cocktail that sets itself on fire. Hotch and Reid quickly glance at each other when the girl repeats three times that you just need normal household sugar, but they quickly forget about this again.

On the way out of the laps Hotch, Reid and Jeremy, the student that offerd the help in the first place, take the elevator. Jeremy explains that you need a key to get it to move past 10pm as Hotch tries to press the button to the ground level. Jeremy also explains that they are often staying late because they are working on the three body problem which peaks Reids interest who was standing in the corner of the elevator before, still embarrassed about his social awkwardness.

Hotch on the other hand couldn’t stop the amused smile that appeared on his face as his subordinate lights up at the mention of science. He sometimes questions why Reid didn’t pursue a occupation in science when he is so interested in this type of field. With his knowledge the boy could get any job he wants after all, but he is glad Reid found his way to the BAU instead. Gideon was right he is a great asset to the team and nowadays he feels a bit ashamed for doubting Gideon when he first brought Spencer in.

The next day the FBI tip hotline gets an anonymous call from someone stating “Karen. I do this for Karen.” Which leads the team to interview all the Karens on Campus while Garcia is working on reducing the background noise of the call to maybe get some more info from it.

Spencer is left alone in the set-up office working out the missing components. Something feels wrong about this case, he just doesn’t know what yet. What he does know though is that their unsub is not their typical arsonist.

He is looking at the whiteboard again when the door behind him opens and Gideon puts his head through. “Keep thinking.” He says. “You mean outside the box? That’s what Morgan is always telling me. He says that’s why I can never beat you at chess.”

“He is probably right.” Gideon responds with a cheeky smile.

“But what is the box? What goes inside and what is left than?” Spencer asks. “The standard profile of a seriel arsonist goes in the box. The unknown is what is left. From here on you need to get creative. Keep working on it Spencer. You can figure this out. You probably already have an idea, you just don’t know it yet.” And with that Gideon leaves again, leaving Spencer alone with his own thoughts.

‘Morgan and Gideon are right’, Spencer thinks, he is being hold back by his own box of knowledge. This entire time they have been trying to fit the unsub to the typical profile of an arsonist, but maybe they have to accept that he just isn’t their typical arsonist. He is something completely else.

This is when Spencer remembers an odd thing in the video of the guy who burned alive. Something that has been bugging him this entire time but he didn’t really know what it was till now. He goes back to look at the video footage one more time.

After some time they get a call from Garcia telling them that their anonymous caller did not say the word Karen during the calls but something that sounds more like ‘Charon’.

Reid explains that Charown is Hebrew and it’s God word in anger.

Reid feels like he is missing something obvious. Something that he should have realized already but he just can’t put his mind into it. “Keep thinking. It’s like chess. Don’t look at just the next move. Try to look three moves ahead” Gideon comments as he sees his young protégé struggle.

Reid goes through the evidence again in his mind: ‘Three times. Professor Wallace. Tuesday, 3:00. Apartment number 3.’

“That’s it!” Reid exclaims. Everyone is looking at him. “You were right to tell Morgan not to rely on precedent. The fires have been task oriented. The unsub is not a classical serial arsonist. He uses fire because of a completely different disorder.”, Reid explains, “An extreme manifestation of OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder. He does. Everything in 3’s, and if I’m right, he’ll have to kill again.”

Reid continues to list the behavioral evidence to the team. How the unsub either sets three fires or if a interval of three threes is given. He also shows them the video footage again and how it looks like the unsub is compulsively turning the doorknob three times.

Gideon is now looking at Hotch to see if he agrees with Reid only to find a look of realization on his coworker’s face. “What is it” he asks.

“I think I know who it might be.”, Hotch states, “Clara Hayes. A chemistry student. When I was talking to her she kept turning the ring on her fingers in intervals of threes.”

“And she repeated the word sugar three times as she was listing the ingredients for a lightbulb bomb, like she couldn’t stop once she started.” Reid added.

Elle and Morgan set out to look at Clara’s dorm and find even more evidence that leads to her being the unsub. Right as they told Hotch this the fire alarm went of and Gideon and Hotch go to look for Clara’s whereabouts.

“Reid I want you to keep looking trough Clara’s files and the evidence from her room maybe you can figure out who her next target is. And call us if you find anything.” Hotch instructs Reid.

“Of course, sir.”

In the end Hotch and Gideon stopped Clara just in time and saved the other three students that Clara tried to set on fire.

On the plane back Reid is playing chess against Gideon again. With all of his practice of outside the box thinking during this case he is feeling pretty confident. “Check in 3.” He answers with a smirk.

“Not bad”, Gideon thinks for a moment before making his next move. “Checkmate.”

Spencers stops smiling. He lost again. “Don’t worry, you’re getting there.” Gideon assures him. The older man stands up from the seat across from him and moves to the back of the plane. Giving his protégé an encouraging pat on the shoulder.

Moments after he left Hotch takes his place. “I’ll probably never beat him.” Reid admits with a sigh. “I’m sure you will one day. You are getting better with each game already, aren’t you?” Reid manages a slight smile at that.

“Anyway, you did really good today Reid. That was good thinking with the OCD. Without you we would probably still be stuck on that case and three more students dead.” Hotch praises feeling like his youngest agent needs to hear this at the moment. He knows that Reid is still not sure about his place within the team and that he feels a constant need to prove himself.

“Come on, Hotch. Don’t you think you are exaggerating a bit now? You would have managed that with out me, too. Gideon looked like he was already thinking something down that line, as well.”

“Spencer”, Reid looked up, surprised at the mention of his first name, “I think you are not giving yourself enough credit. You figured it out and that just in time. Even if Gideon would have gotten it eventually we would have been too late. Those students are still alive because of you. You can be proud of yourself.” If Reid would not have looked away at that moment, overwhelmed by the praise he would have seen that his boss’s eyes practically screamed ‘I’m proud of you, too.’

Greek gods don’t act like this. Also the world would’ve been destroyed 3000 years ago if the gods went to sleep.

And now my good anon, you gave me a good place to put a desclaimer… Ahem.

!Desclaimer!

The whole concept of being asleep for 3000 years is a WIP story I’m making and testing within the world of MOW.

However it is a story separate from MOW so it’s not gonna be all like this…

The main point however is that the Major gods (Except Hades) went to sleep, while some gods stayed awake. Aka the 12 Olympian gods…the rest of the gods maintained the world while they slumbered…

For example: Dionysus’ son that he had with Ariadne is the personification of grapes.

However they weren’t Major deities/weren’t well known even in modern times. (Ex: Eros who is also the god of love, yet his story is rather vague and sometimes mixed with Aphrodite, where instead of her rising upon the sea, it was Eros and in the Psyche and Eros story he’s her son, so it kinda gets confusing from there)

As for their personalities, I’m still working on that, which is why MOW is being used as a testing grounds… (Honestly he had already did when I made an original story for myself but have yet to work on the lore)

So to summarize:

1.) The Greek Mythology arc is a testing grounds for a story I’m making and currently planning that has NOTHING to do with MOW or LMK.

2.) The Major gods were the ones that went to sleep, while the rest of the gods that weren’t well known (Yes that could mean Hercules is alive- I’m not really sure about that though) maintained the world around them. (I also read somewhere that the Sea is also a personification like Gaea? Though that’s something I’m not sure of)

3.) Personalities are also still WIP, they’re not the final result, I could make Ares more of a bully if you want. I based Hermes’ personality off of ‘Epic the Musical’ because it seems to fit his personality as a trickster god.

4.) If you’re wondering about the monsters, some of them went extinct during the time the gods slept.

5.) In MOW, there are other deities maintaining the world around them, though Jade Emperor’s Mythology is mainly called ‘Chinese gods’ it’s because most of their beliefs are directed at China (I.E JTTW is a mix of Hinduism, Taoism and Buddhism) however, I have implied that they DO maintain the world around them, not just China, they’re just stronger there. (Probably in Japan as well) They can’t be called ‘Asian gods’ because some Asians don’t believe in them and have different beliefs. (Like the Philippines, which is mostly Christianity)

6.) The reason I did that is because I tried to do a Rick Riordan kinda thing, where deities of Egyptian Mythology, Greek Mythology, Roman Mythology and Norse Mythology are involved in the same world. (Like Percy Jackson meeting Kane Chronicles or Magnus Chase being related to Annabeth Chase despite Annabeth being Greek Mythology and Magnus being Norse Mythology)

So yeah….uhm if you have any thing to criticize, I’m free for it.

THE PULP INTERVIEW 1987

So where do Pulp fit into the scheme of things, Russell? "There's a big gap between the sugary horrible pop charts and the ugly spiky indie sludge and there aren't too many bands in the middle though that's where our future lies I reckon. I think what we do is normal and healthy and what a lot of people are looking for - music that sounds beautiful but doesn't insult your intelligence isn't that absurd a thing to do."

Along with the equally excellent Blue Aeroplanes and Colenso Parade, PULP have formed a crucial part of the Fire records tour-de-force. Originally treading the boards back in 1983, the Sheffield-based group have re-emerged this year with only Jarvis Cocker remaining from the previous line-up, and have to date offered us 3 splendid 12-inch singles, with an album coming v. soon. No strangers to controversy, Pulp's first release for Fire, the haunting 'Little Girl (With Blue Eyes)', had a BBC ban slapped on it due to the direct nature of the lyric. Were the band surprised by this?

Jarvis: "Not really I suppose. There seems to be an attitude that anything is acceptable in pop music as long as it's never put directly; e.g. it's all right to say 'Let's make love tonight baby I wanna feel your body' but not 'There's a hole in your heart and one between your legs'. I wasn't too surprised."

Guitarist/vocalist Russell puts the other side of the coin: "I was very surprised seeing as we'd been playing that song live and on local radio for years and nobody had ever passed comment on it. I suppose that we thought it was pretty tame really. What really cracked us up was that Jane Solanas, a feminist writer for the NME, gave it the biggest slagging off."

As Sheffield has a fine track record for producing groups, I wondered what Pulp saw as the pros and cons of hailing from the city, and how important it was not to be seen as 'just another Sheffield band'.

Jarvis: "we'd rather not even be thought of as another band, let alone another Sheffield band. We play music so obviously we're seen as a band, but music is just our chosen form of communication really. Nice tunes are all very well but a song should get something across as well. As for Sheffield, it's big and smelly. There's no scene - just lots of people trying to outshoot each other."

Russell reciprocates this view: "In Sheffield the 'local' stigma is a pretty difficult one, i.e. there's an image of what Sheffield music sounds like (A cross between New York funk and a steel factory) and we don't sound like it. What pisses me off is that the tag doesn't fit Sheffield at all. We're proud to be part of the varied and very healthy scene that is Sheffield music. For the record I feel that Pulp stem very much from Sheffield's industrial culture, but that doesn't mean we can only appeal to Sheffield people or that we sound horrible. Something to do with having to make your own beauty because the sights and smells around you all offend the senses. Now the 'scene' is entirely different and there are a lot more bands like us (i.e. with songs rather than noises or textures) doing interesting things."

I make mention of the song 'Will to Power', to be found on the 12" of 'Little Girl', which attracted some criticism due to its (ahem) right wing connotations. Russell, who wrote the song, expands: "To be honest, I wasn't too surprised at the Nazi flak we got. It is in fact a real commie anthem dedicated to Arthur Scargill, and Nelson Mandela and the I.R.A. The reason it got flak is: 1) it mentions 1933 (the year Hitler came to power) 2) the title is also a book of Nietzsche writings compiled by the Nazis and taken out of context to try and prove their race theories. 3) I look very similar to Adolph Hitler(!). On a couple of occasions I've had to dash out of my local when yobbos started chanting 'Zieg Heil!' and taking the piss."

To their eternal credit, Pulp shun any attempt to look self-consciously hip (or indeed self-consciously unhip) in their appearance. For despite Jarvis' own admittance that "we are usually told that we look like a party of inmates from an asylum on a day trip", Russell is quick to point out that Pulp's image is important the more so because it's not a chosen or contrived one. Jarvis agrees: "We don't attempt to avoid current trends", adding "we can't help it if we're 2 years ahead of everyone else!"

Russell thinks that there are too many easy reference points in most bands, to the extent that people will tend to fashion their lifestyle according to the types of bands they go to see, citing batcave music as a prime example. So where do Pulp fit into the scheme of things, Russell?

"There's a big gap between the sugary horrible pop charts and the ugly spiky indie sludge and there aren't too many bands in the middle though that's where our future lies I reckon. Overall I reckon Russell has every justification for saying this - listen particularly to the first 2 Fire singles, both truly tender but with a lyrical twist in the tail, or the eerie, relentless 'Aborigine', or the tranquil beauty of 'Goodnight', featuring Jarvis at his gravest, if you don't believe me.

If I had to compare them with someone, I suppose The Velvets spring to mind, but really, trite comparisons do Pulp no favours at all, and more importantly they can never hope to communicate the many facets of Pulp. The best way to find out is to buy one of their records, and find out for yourself. Enlightenment is just around the corner.

Just me reposting about Yurika because I can

Ahem I deleted the previous post because some stuffs changed since I played Ryoushi's route.

THIS POST WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS OF BOTH TAISHO X ALICE SERIES AND THE FANDISC. YOU ARE WARNED.

So. Where do I start.

I think there is something important about TaiAli: characters may have biased opinions about each other. (like in reality), and that also includes Yurika. Yurika is a character that is humanly complex and flawed while the games tend to show her representation as "Arisu" inherently girlbossy as being some kind of idealized version of herself that'd be able to go to crazy and unrealistic lenghts to save the one she loves (like stabbing herself in Kaguya's route). That's the whole point of her character: that she is different and more flawed than this "princess."

"Arisu" is a representation of Yurika's will to save Alistair that is molded into *his* inconsious. She's a character that is biased by his own twisted perception of Yurika since he's idealizing her starting some point and to some extend. But that idealization alone is again, complex.

Since her birth Yurika was assigned roles because she happened to be "smarter than other kids". "Genius" - that was a role she struggled to recognize herself as a kid. Probably because from her perspective it felt like it was something she wasn't, but something she needed to appear as to gain her parent's attention and approbation. (This leading for her to have extremely low self-esteem as a child). Ryoushi's route describes rather well how lonely her childhood was because nobody actually really watched over her as an adult should watch over a child. Every child needs she could have was instantly brushed off by the "she's smarter and more mature than other kids" allegation. Even Ryoushi himself kinda avoided her because of his own issues. Adding to that her appearence: reminder we are in the country side Japan and Ryoushi's route despised that not only children but full grown adults would criticize Yurika's unique appearence and even go as lenght as telling their childs she must be cursed for having that kind of eyes. While not having experienced blatant bullying, she was still ostracized. Yurika's parents again pushing the "that's what makes you unique" agenda could have felt really insensitive toward the fact she had actually suffered and been lonely. (Flashback the scene where Yurika's mom claims that "it's not a big deal if she doesn't have friends in kindergraten" because "she's not like other children."). While her parents may have genuinely not any bad intention, they were in fact really cold and in denial of Yurika's emotional needs. No matter how "smart" or "gifted" she is, a child is still a child.

This led to her developing her first love for someone with whom she didn't need to care about fitting the "genius" role: "Alice". To her that was the first person who didn't push the role onto her and didn't watch her with prejudiced eyes because of her appearance. In reality, you may say that he was, in fact, assigning her another role: the "princess". The one who needs to be cherished and protected. This may feel diminutating for us, but from the little Yurika's perception, it was a positive experience. Because the "princess" role was the exact opposite of the "genius" role (= something she struggled to see her in). "Princess" is allowed to be weak, allowed to ask for others compagny. It may have been incounscions, but to Yurika, it must have felt like her emotional needs were *finally* listened.

That's why to Yurika, "Alice" validing her appearance was way more impactful than her parent's agenda. It was the first time she was able to really bound with someone her age. So she took everything related to him to heart value and started to have a wish for the future = "bride", that's childish, yes, but that's accurate to her age and her situation. Her parents already planned her future as something like her researcher or a doctor, only taking into account her IQ but not what she may actually want. "Alice" was the first person who allowed her to act like an actual child, so she felt comfortable and wished for this comfort to stay.

But shit happens ofc and as a child, even if she gained a lot of self-confidence thanks to her bounding with Alice, she was still unable to go against her parents. She was still unable to say that she didn't want to go to america. We don't really know how happened while she was studying in america, it was probably "normal" but she kept for years the ribbon that matches with "Alice", probably as a momento(?) or something that'd remind her of him and the way he valided her. We don't really know if she just never stoped be in love with him or it's more like a childhood love that rebloomed when she met him again years later.

Years later, when reunited with Alistair and learning about his situation. She let go of the "princess" role when she realized he himself wasn't the same person from the past. (This is emphasized by her changing the ribbon in her hair). Yurika couldn't anymore be a "princess" that needed protection because she grew up as bright, cherfull, assertive and confident young girl, that was plenty capable by herself without needing the help of a "prince"... Or at least, that's how she appeared to Alistair. Because the little crybaby girl he felt the urge to protect was now appearing as strong compared to him who suffers from mental illness. So Yurika came from "Princess" to "Queen" (more powerful and independent position). She even reflected their own past experiences by being ostentatious on purpose by changing her way of speech, so she would be seen as "the weird one". Just as "Alice" took her ribbon to be as "abnormal" as her when they were childs. The roles are now reversed, and Yurika doesn't appear as the one who needs comfort anymore.

But the "princess x prince" combination was still something Yurika and Alistair longed for, because it was deeply rooted in their happy childhood memories. Time passes by, and Yurika is assigned another role: the "witch" (Gretel's birth), totally unwillingly. It's like her just being here automatically leads to other predefined titles. But real people aren't defined by fairy tales archetypes, right ?

But still, since humans are so complex, it's sometimes more comforting to use these archetypes. The character you play in Taisho x Alice, the persona born from Yurika's will and Alistair's incouscious is a "princess" modled for Alistair. Because while pushing the princess allegation to Yurika, Alistair's own definition of what is a "princess" is by time influenced by her. So the Taisho x Alice "Arisu" isn't a princess that is weak, but someone strongwilled and energic, proactive, and.... ultimately succeding. (Because the attempts that fail to save the prince are erased). The main character that leads to a happy end is, by definition, never wrong. Only the result matters, so "Arisu" is free of guilt as she's only driven by the wish to save her prince. What happens to Alistair's dream belongs to him and his alters. It doesn't need to be healthy, to be sane, to be the despiction of a realistic relationship in a realistic setting. It's a fairy tale written by Yurika and interpreted by Alistair's inconsciousness to bring him comfort. The comfort of being fully, inconditionnaly loved.

So the "Arisu" is a princess, while Yurika herself doesn't fit to this only role. The real Yurika is more flawed, she did useless stuffs when being pressured, she hesitates, she shows weakness. She's in fact neither a princess, a queen or a witch, she's nothing but herself, with her own contradictions. Or maybe she's also all of theses titles depending on where you stand ?

She's smart, but not the crazy mastermind she may appear as. While being subject to emotional dependency and smart enough to act up in a way that could be considered "abnormaly," common sense and moral still apply to her. When broking windows, she took care of not risking to hurt anyone. (+ I beg to remind you it was a one-time situation while she felt pressured). She felt genuinely bad for counting on Ookami and did actually develop a real friendship with him. (Note that Ookami isn't stupid either and didn't feel used to the slightest. Please stop with the "evil yurika manipulated the poor innocent ookami"). She's even capable of crying for him, too. She may have done discutable, not necessary stuff, but she does feel bad. I think that's what Ryoushi meant when saying it's "not that she doesn't see anything but the one she loves, she just chooses to ignore." It's not that moral doesn't apply. She'll just side with Alistair no matter what, even if she had to suffer from her own decisions. When talking about her dangerousness, Ryoushi thinks mostly about her being a danger for herself, not others; highlighting her emotional dependency. But Yurika being written as a complex human being, she does progress. Having her genuinely bounding with Ookami is the most explicit proof of that.

Charcters describes her by many ways that may be contradictory: "smart" "dumb" "capable" "abnormal" "beautiful". By awaking and discociating himself from Alice, Alistair accepts Yurika for who she is, somehow keeping the prince/princess roleplay but in a way more healthy way as they mutually accord to each others.

Conclusion: Yurika is a flawed, complex teenager. While I myself sometimes push the Yurika crazy girlboss agenda, she's, in fact, way more nuanced. What matters is that her and Alistair broke free from their unhealthy coping mechanism and had a new fresh start. And that the FD's being somehow an open ending is beautiful because that means Yurika actually has the choice and isn't dependent anymore. (Wish them all the happiness 👁👁).
