#the anime is a lot of peoples' first impressions of bsd and it just makes them go 'yeah its okay i guess'
Text
honestly, episodes like this that are so stellar in almost every way just make it all the more frustrating when bones fucks up so bad other times. Like the quality of season 4 has probably been the most consistently good the anime has been since season 2, and yet the entire series still on average just reeks of tonal issues, pacing issues, wonky expressions that don’t do Harukawa’s art justice, cutting of crucial scenes or internal dialogue, and straight-up just completely missing the point and nuances of so many moments in the manga/light novels.
BSD has always been dark and gritty to an extent, but the anime has always been too “fluffy” (for lack of a better word, or I guess shounen-y) to truly understand and capture that, and it’s so frustrating when episodes like this one and Mushitarou’s episodes clearly DID have a lot of love and understanding and attention to detail put into them. Even the Dark Era episodes, which is my favorite and what I consider to be the best story content in the entire franchise, are imo honestly outclassed by the aforementioned episodes purely in terms of adaptation. But then episode 6 this season was incredibly rushed, and Dazai’s arrest scene completely butchered (and Nikolai’s bird speech, to an extent). Atsushi hallucinating Dazai in episode 8 was mediocre as well. Kunikida always has his core character moments shafted. Dazai is never allowed to be vulnerable or “uncool”. Season 3 had “Portrait of a Father” aka arguably one of the most important and most powerful chapters in the entire manga up there with Yosano’s backstory chapters, and yet it’s absolutely the most pathetic, hollow shell of an “adaptation” I’ve ever seen in my life and yes I WILL forever be salty about it.
But then they pull an episode like this out of their asses, where they actually tried. It’s so frustrating. </3

oh god tell us your kunikida thoughts because there is like NO appreciation for him in this fandom (im anon from before btw <3)
Things I Adore About Kunikida Doppo
Tumblr media
Oh hi! 🥰 I was guessing that it was you because of the notifications hehe.
Once again, I agree very much that there’s practically so little appreciation given to him and that he’s one of the most misinterpreted and underestimated characters of the franchise. Therefore, this post is going to be fully dedicated to appreciating the littlest things about our beloved Kunikida Doppo. ❤️
As a short note, I’ll probably start by the first impression he left on me. I remember watching the first ever episode of BSD, and thinking “oh yeah there’s the clumsy MC. oh yeah there’s the mysterious and dramatically-introduced brunet. oh yeah there’s the- 😳🦋!” I have absolutely no idea why, but even the first appearance of him struck me if it makes sense? I of course didn’t think anything further about him as he was a new character after all, and it usually takes a really long time for me to internalise characters as my ‘comfort‘ character and it requires lots of readings/deeper understandings, but he was the only one that left a trace in my memories after watching the first episode and the only motive that made me continue watching the anime after a few months of break.
warnings: little mentions of anxiety/loss of a loved one
1) Dedication and Expertise
I adore his dedication and passion in whatever he does. He always has this confident aura that just indicates that he knows what he’s doing and knows what he wants, and always pushes his limits to obtain it. I love seeing his sharp and firm gaze appear in those moments of determination, both in the anime but mostly in the manga (I’ll add some examples below <3 I’ve been noticing the different types of his gazes in the manga, and this is one of them, on which I’ll hopefully write an analysis one day. also I removed the texts from the panels and cropped them so don’t worry about getting spoiled!).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That stare of his gives me more butterflies than anything else on the world.
And as for the anime, this scene is honestly the summary of what I’ve been trying to say. I remember so well the first time that I realised he didn’t shoot the men but shot the guns they held, without shedding a single drop of blood. Oh how do I even tell you… I was smitten. Just how skilled in using a gun must you be to be able to aim that well? When he says that “murder isn’t a hobby of his”, he means it and I find it extremely intriguing. That scene means that he put additional effort in his skills and practice in order to follow that rule of his, and I don’t think many people recognise how incredible that actually is. We’re all inclined to think of a character committing murder as an element of great interest, because it’s not something as widespread in real life, therefore we tend to overlook the opposite view of it, which is in my opinion just as interesting to analyse. Sadly, we are not given enough data on his past to be able to try deducing his mental state by combining it with his ideals, but I’m crossing my fingers.
The way he outwitted Akutagawa despite being extremely underadvantaged in terms of special ability is another proof of how well he is able to read the room, analyse the circumstances and make a plan as quickly as possible thanks to his past experiences and physical/intellectual expertise. (And you can actually see that determined stare of his in this clip too, when he aims at Akutagawa and cites his phrase <3.)
2) Seriousness and Sense of Responsibility
I adore how seriously he takes things, even if it’s unnecessarily serious sometimes. This is just his way of showing that he cares. It is evident that he constantly has difficulty with comfortably showing appreciation and giving praise unless he’s alone, cf. chapter 37/the end of the Guild Arc where he was supposed to acknowledge Atsushi and Kyouka’s efforts and praise them as their senior, but ended up rambling incoherently instead. Or staying next to Atsushi when he was in the hospital, all while claiming that he ‘did not care about it at all’.
Can we also talk about how big of a gentleman he is? (maybe except to Dazai ha!) He is unexpectedly good at tenderly handling children (OVA & season 3) and pets (Wan!) and it has me crying.
I love that he’s literally the monument of a good sense of responsibility. I don’t think many people realise how much of a backbone this sense of his is to the Agency because it is always coated with a comedic texture. Not to mention that this leads to him being boiled down to a two-dimensional and superficial symbol of anger, boredom and “party-pooper”, which is why I have never been a big fan of him being used solely for comedic purposes. Hopefully, season 4 will finally give him some deserved spotlight T^T.
I love how he always seeks for order, because it comforts him and helps him create a simulation of the ‘ideal’ world he has in mind. I don’t know yet what’s the origins of this obsession of his, but whether it’s because of the loss of a loved one or another kind of traumatic experience, I think that if we were able to see his eyes when he cleans up a physical or mental mess, we would witness an immense sparkle of gain of comfort and a high level of anxiety being soothed.
3) Moral Compass and Humanity
I have always said this and I still stand by it, one of the things I appreciate the most (if not the most) in Kunikida is his trustworthiness. As someone with mild trust issues, he’s just been giving off that comforting and stable trust vibe that I’ve been so longing for seeing in people. Since his first ever appearance in the story, I’ve just known for a fact that I would be able to trust this man fully, that he wouldn’t use tricks or manipulative ways to do as he pleases.
I love how well he intelligently knows the difference between “unrealistic goals” and “goals that people have labeled unrealistic because they didn’t try hard enough”. He himself defines himself as both a ‘pragmatist’ and ‘idealist’, and as contradicting as it sounds, there’s no better way to define him. He’s still on the way of learning to distinguish the fine line between them, he is suffering at times but I am truly so proud of the development he went through. His character arc is sadly one of the least mentioned/appreciated ones, but it’s making me so happy. I truly get so happy when I see him learn one more thing, achieve one more thing through his actions, cry, break down and stand up even stronger than before.
I love that he’s a human being who has his own moral compass and who follows it no matter how bitter things seem. It is literally so attractive to me that he has his inner compass as his guide to make decisions and takes action according to it, refusing to compromise. Staying ‘righteous’ (I’m not a fan of this word since it’s a bit lacking, but I really couldn’t find a better word to describe it here) in the world that he’s living in is so painful. We see it in his every word, every past experience, every memory.
He’s doing such a good job and I’m so proud of him for it.

Chuuya's sense of fashion and will we see the SB outfit again?
What if the reason why we see Chuuya having such basically flamboyant/more stylish outfits Dragon's Head Conflict onwards (idk how else to describe it but it’s clearly his own style), is because of everything he learned about himself in Storm Bringer as well as partially in memory of/in spirit of the flags (like just look at Albatross tell me he didn’t inspire Chuuya with this).
Cause I’ve seen a post recently circulating a bit wishing for Chuuya to bring back the SB outfit but my guess is that he has multiples of it/things that are similar not just because he hadn’t learned about his past yet but more so because at the time he was essentially one of many in the PM. Sure he’s clearly different due to him quickly going up the ranks and getting achievements but he was pretty much forced to join. It’s also not like he was the only powerful ability user and he does still have to dress professionally for things like meetings (especially since he’s still making impressions and forming connections during his first year) vs becoming an executive candidate and later an executive, when not only his name is more known but he’d probably want to start to come off as a bit different/as himself. Just the smaller accessorizing he does is already super iconic and it adds the personal touch to his outfits.
“After the ‘Assassination King Incident’, Chuuya’s reputation within the Organization had risen explosively. After all, he had defeated the denim beast Guivre, who had threatened to destroy the Mafia in its entirety, all by himself. By now, there was no one in the organization who did not know Chuuya’s name anymore, and he had his own subordinates at the ready.” (this is shortly after he became an executive, as we find out a few-ish paragraphs later) (Storm Bringer, Epilogue, translation by Steffi’s team)
Maybe I’m starting to overanalyze with this now but picking out his outfit randomly vs picking out specific things (even if it’s just accessories or individual layers to add) says a lot to me about how he perceives himself at the time. In the Sheep, not only was he in charge but even people outside of the Sheep knew of him and his strength (like this might’ve been novel character sheet only cause it’s a small detail but he even had a sheep belt buckle). 1 year into being in the PM he’s starting to make a name for himself because of how fast he’s getting achievements and climbing the ranks, but he hasn’t actually become too well known yet (ie look at Dazai already making people too afraid to even approach where he lives cause his greeting could literally be anything from a tea party to like brutal murder or something). DHC he’s now an executive candidate and he’s learned about himself/is much more sure of his own identity.
There’s also just no point in him trying to blend in among the PM once he became an executive candidate because him being recognized for his achievements and then as the one in charge as an executive just makes sense to me (why would you want a boss that tries to hide in the crowd constantly, especially in the PM? I’m not talking about undercover missions or being off work, this is different from Mori and Aku dressing casually for when they’re off duty or just in broad daylight trying to set up for their target.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(In order, 15 yo novel character sheet, SB character sheet, colored reference art from Rakugakki Note artbook, compilation of anime Chuuya character sheet)
Anyway, I don’t think we’ll see a return of Chuuya’s exact outfit from SB unless there was a reason (ie. disguise/a need to blend in with the crowd). He does still dress similarly now to his SB outfit, except with some added accessorizing. The only part of how he dresses that “needs” to be kept is the hat, due to its special properties (as explained in SB). And even if Chuuya did need a disguise, he does already dress pretty “normally”, just with his own added touch that isn’t too in your face (there’s probably a better word for this that I’m just not remembering rn lol). Also as you may have noticed from the references above, manga Chuuya does also have a chain on his hat and a belt that honestly reminds me of Hatsune Miku's belt.
This is just my own personal take inspired by the tweet I mentioned and linked above, I just write too much to want to make a whole thread. Also no hate to op by any means, I also have my own wishes of what I want to see happen in bsd that may not be the most likely to happen.

Anime Micro-Reviews
Short reviews of three shows with ~12 episodes each
Death Parade
There is a place after death that’s neither heaven nor hell—a bar that serves you one chance to win. You cannot leave until the game is over, and when it is your life may be, too.
While people play games, the bartender—actually an arbiter in charge of deciding souls’ fates—will observe their true nature.
Tumblr media
Mysterious, otherworldly setting disguised as a friendly spot where people who don’t yet know they’re dead go to be secretly judged? Sure! I enjoyed the show, especially how, as it went on, it introduced doubt that any human’s complexities and motivations could be easily categorized into black-and-white categories just based on outside observations.
I also like the premise of the otherworldly bar. Creepy, mysterious, an easy hook for me. Also, the opening theme is a bop.
As it continues, the show invites the viewer to judge not just the souls, but the bureaucracy of the death game/judgement/arbiter system. The arbiters aren’t human, and free of human emotions they are impartial judges...right? Or does the lack of emotion impede their understanding of actions in the first place?
English Dub? Yes
Where to Watch (USA, as of April 2021): Hulu (sub), Funimation (sub and dub), DVD
Eden of the East
Akira Takizawa wakes up naked outside the White House with no memories. He’s got a gun and a cell phone. He doesn’t remember the phone gives him access to ten billion yen and a woman who will grant any request. He doesn’t even remember he’s supposed to save Japan and will be murdered if he fails. Whatever he’s tangled up in, Takizawa’s in deep—and that’s not even scratching the surface.
Tumblr media
A solid show that keeps you coming back for answers, Eden of the East--which is hard to sum up in a single gif--hits the ground running as recent college grad Saki, sightseeing in the US, gets tangled up with a charming guy who is naked, armed, trying to avoid the cops because of that, and amnesiac.
Despite *gestures* all that, it’s a pretty deliberately-paced show, rather than a thriller. Fairly quickly we learn that Akira is one of 12 people given a ton of money and a mission to “save Japan” however they see fit in a sort of game...which might be good deeds, or might be terrorism.
The characters are likable, and every episode gives you just a little more information, letting you untangle the mysteries at the same time as the characters. The 11-episode series completes the main arc, but leaves the completion of the game for the two additional movies (I assume; I haven’t seen them yet).
English Dub? Yes
Where to Watch (USA, as of April 2021): Hulu (sub), Funimation (sub and dub, also both movies), Tubi (sub), DVD
91 Days
During the Prohibition era, in the town of Lawless the mafia rule the streets, and the illegally-made liquor flows freely. After a mafia dispute ended in the murder of his family, Bruno Avilio went into hiding. Years later, a mysterious letter with the names of the murderers prompts him to return, infiltrating the the ruling mob family and befriending the don’s son as he plans vengeance. Killing brings more killing, and revenge spawns more revenge. How will the 91-day story of these men guided by a tragic fate end?
Tumblr media
I saw this being recommended a lot to people who wanted something after Bungo Stray Dogs, a show I adored, so I gave it a shot. And while it’s really good, it makes me wonder what those original recommenders liked about BSD because...the main thing these shows have in common are the gangs and gunfight aspects. They’ve got completely different tones and I think each would appeal to its audience for different reasons.
91 Days seems to me like the type of show you’d recommend someone who doesn’t normally like anime (maybe along with titles like Cowboy Bebop or Death Note). It’s dark, the story of a young man’s quest for revenge on the gangsters that murdered his family, and what he’ll sacrifice to get it. Set outside Prohibition Chicago, there’s booze, turf wars, plotting, double crossing, shootouts and scheming; Anime News Network called it “an Alexandre Dumas-style tale of revenge.”
Impressively, the historical setting feels authentic. The Prohibition setting isn’t just for aesthetic: from the sound effects to the cars and even store prices, it really feels like they did their research.
English Dub? Yes, and it’s pretty good, although I was surprised at first because I’m unfamiliar with Chicago accents, but it ended up being really interesting, and adding to the sense of its time and place.
Where to Watch (USA, as of April 2021): Crunchyroll (sub and dub), HBO Max (sub and dub), BR/DVD

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT ABT THE BSD MANGA ILY THANK YOU I FEEL LIKE MY OPINION IS FINALLY VALIDATED WHICH IS: BSD has turned meh. I have become indifferent towards the plot due to the fact there are no real stakes - I feel like the OP characters like Dazai will always have a solution with a deus ex machina feel to it, making it impossible for me to care. With the recent chaos happening in the manga (I too gave up on the manga a year or so ago!), I was baffled to find out I could no longer enjoy it. My memory is poor, and I can't really pinpoint it at the moment, but BSD just... doesn't engage me as it used to. Keep in mind I was an obsessive fan of it and analyzed it to the tiniest details, but all of my great love for the series has long died, sadly. But! I am glad to hear you feel similarly about it because, yes, the potential was there, but it got terribly wasted.
Bruh don't I feel it, me and @autumn-foxfire have like monthly bitch sessions about the state of bsd at this point. I was also super invested in it in initial arcs (Up until the guild arc ended) and then slowly started petering off only to drop it the first time around the hunting dogs introduction. Then after some time i was like okay ill go give it a second shot, came to the vampire arc went 'wow this is really fuckin stupid' and dropped it again. Idk will I pick it up again, maybe I'll just stick to being an anime only, even tho I also have problems with some adaptation things but that's BESIDES THE POINT.
Please click under for The Point
The thing about Kafka is: He's really good at coming up with interesting concepts and ideas and REALLY BAD at executing them in any sort of satisfying way. Like, when I say I only like bsd until the end of the guild arc, I don't mean it was perfect. It could have handled it's female cast better, it would have been fun to see more mafia and agency team ups besides soukoku and shin soukoku, I still don't get why shin soukoku is supposed to be a replacement in training since Dazai and Chuuya still work together perfectly and even if they hate each other they hate each other less than Akutagawa and Atsushi AND have way more experience fighting together but that once again is besides the point. The point being those arcs of bsd were SATISFYING. We got introduced to two organizations, seen them butt heads and then have them forced to work together against a common enemy. It's very simple but it's effective and it's satisfying.
And then the rats struck.
While up until then bsd wasn't perfect it was fun and had lovable characters and an interesting plot and engaging dynamics. Rats arc wasn't horrible per say, the idea of the cannibalization was really fun (Though I think Kafka should have used it to get rid of Mori, nobody fuckin likes Mori) but this is where we slowly get introduced to what I think are two main failings of Kafka's writing: That he's unable to handle characters properly and that he likes writing smart things but doesn't know how to write smart things.
Kafka has a very, very bad habit of INTRODUCING TOO MANY FUCKING CHARCTERS. Every arc is a new massive group with like a bunch of members, one of who may actually end up being fleshed out before they are inventiblely replaced by another large group or maybe two why the fuck not. The mafia and the guild left lasting impressions on me and I can still name all the main members but fuck me if i know a single rat aside from Fyodor (AND ILL GET TO FYODOR). Kafka feels like someone who's idea of rising conflict is 'introduce a bigger enemy each time' and it's just so annoying. Chapters and arcs end up centering around these groups of new characters while old characters, who we loved the manga for, just fall into obscurity. He almost had me in the hunting dogs arc by giving Yosano a backstory. I was so excited! I was like!!! finally development for the agency!!! But that barely went anywhere did it. I've talked about this with Foxy but it really feels like Kafka is just BORED of the og characters and is trying to silently sideline them for his new shiny characters. When's the last time we saw Chuuya again, you know, the ex partner of one of the series protagonists? The next predicted mafia head? Is he important? Foxy tells me Dazai's been sidelined too, fUCKIN DAZAI, for a good while I was sure Kafka liked Dazai a lot better than Atsuhi for protagonist and now he's getting sidelined. I know bsd is still really popular in japan but at this point i think it would have been more merciful for Kafka to just end bsd and start a new manga with new characters instead of doing whatever weird metamorphosis this is turning out to be.
Introducing new characters isn't a bad thing of course, but bsd has become mcdonalds of new characters. They are cheap and disposable. I can't feel anything for them because I know nine times out of ten they'll barely make any impact and they'll disappear as soon as the new group slides in. When adding new characters you should do so while knowing what role those characters will play in your plot, what will they bring. If a character is just there to waffle around until they get shoved away they should probably be cut because they are wasting time and space. AND YOU SHOULDN'T SIDE LINE YOUR CORE CAST FOR UR SHINY NEW CHARACTERS YOU'LL GET BORED OF IN COUPLE OF ARCS ANYWAY, ARE YOU A TODDLER???
I still think that bsd could have been SO much better if instead of focusing on the next big evil group they just focused on shifting tension between the agency and the mafia. I mean they've had to team up for the guild and then they immediately got thrown into the cannibalization. It would have been interesting to see them pull against and pull towards those ties made during the guild arc when they are forcefully pitted against each other again (and decide that killing mori would be in everyone's best interest). Instead we got, idk I already forgot what the rats arc ended up being about, atsushi and aku team up again yadda yadda yadda, Chuuya gets done dirty and never recovers, Fyodor ruins Dazai
SO ABOUT FYODOR. As I said, Kafka strikes me as someone who REALLY likes to write geniuses and who wants people to think he's super smart but also has no idea how to show his work. At first this was okay. We had Dazai and Ranpo who were very good at pushing the plot along and sometimes you'd get explained how they got to that conclusion and sometimes you didn't but it usually wasn't a big deal. But then the writing became more and more and more of 'well he's smart so he figured it out so just trust me' without actually explaining anything and as you said, it ended up feeling boring, unengaging and very deus ex machina. You know what Kafka's writing reminds me off? That video about how Sherlock is so happy to stroke itself to how smart they look while never showing their work, you know the one. Kafka likes writing smart characters but doesn't actually know how to write smart characters so instead of giving us reasons and clues and explanations to how they come to some conclusion, how they predicted or planned or whatever, he just goes 'oh well they are super smart so they figured it out'. I don't think I need to explained why this is bad, annoying and unengaging writing. This is why i say Fyodor ruined Dazai for me, Dazai was fine as a genius but then they had to pit him against Fyodor who's another genius and things just got ridiculous. You know how in that sherlock video the guy points out the one scene that encapsulates every irritating thing about sherlocks writing. This had been it for me and BSD (thank you Foxy for helping me find the panels)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THATS NOT HOW CODES WORK, THATS NOT HOW ANYTHING WORKS, THEY WOULD JUST BE COMING UP WITH TWO DIFFERENT SETS OF CODES HERE. Even if they were both smart enough to remember every conversation in detail, how on earth are they supposed to 'guess out' what the other means. How are they supposed to confirm or deny that's what a certain word means in a way that can be understood, how can they even guess what the word the other guessed is IF THEY ARE BOTH TALKING IN CODE. KAFKA'S ANSWER: THEY'RE MONSTERS, THEY ARE JUST THAT SMART, NO NEED TO EXPLAIN IT BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST THAT SMART AND THAT'S YOUR SOLUTION AND THAT'S BULLSHIT. This scene broke bsd in half for me and honestly made me dislike Dazai for a long time (I got better), but it honestly shows so well how Kafka wanted to make his characters so smart he actually made his manga really fuckin stupid, ruining very good and interesting concept he had started with.
In the end, Kafka writes how I wrote when I was 15. With no idea where the plot is headed, adding new characters and situations whenever it strikes his fancy whether they work for the story or not, ending up just flopping around plot holes and fizzled out character arcs and boring ass writing. And that's fine for a 15yr old writing fanfiction. It's not fine for a presumably grown ass published author of a relatively popular manga.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Hello! May I have a match up for BSD? I prefer male. Please keep the characters confined to the anime! I prefer not to share my appearance.
I'm a female INTJ 1w9, Gemini sun and Virgo moon. I describe myself as reserved, idealistic, independent, inquisitive, studious, composed, and conscientious. I'm also sarcastic, witty, stubborn, self-assured, and exhibit a strong personality. Those close to me see me as someone intelligent, open-minded, passionate, kind, patient, loyal, and somewhat overprotective. I'm a polite and perfectionistic silent worker who acts formal and aloof on first impression and is mature for my age. I have a way with words and am good at mediating. When I'm let out of my shell, I become more charismatic and good-humored. I usually can't do much without a clear goal or purpose and tend to be a workaholic if invested. My anger is more on the seething but cold side, I tend to bottle up my emotions, and tend to be private. I'm naturally rational in making decisions, but I get moody when under extreme stress. Likes include the night time, stars, books, dark chocolate, planning for the future, and deep talk. Dislikes include peanut butter and inconsiderate, fake, and/or ignorant people. Love language is either quality time or acts of service. Fact about myself: my hands are always cold. When it comes to relationships, I'm drawn to people who balance me out but still share some similarities with. I'm not the best with affection, but I make sure my attempts through words and simple actions are trusted to be genuine. I also have a side that likes to tease those who are close to me. If I'm close to someone, I'm quite overprotective and would get angry if someone disrespects or wrongs them. I would prefer simple dates such as just staying at home and talking the night away, going to a restaurant or library together, or strolling outside in a park.
The description is quite long, but I hope you find the time to do this! Also, good luck with your blog. I hope my request was able to start you off. Thank you, and have a great day!
Thank you for requesting!
Your match is Ranpo
Tumblr media
Ranpo is more laid back and goofy, but he also has a strong personality
He is very good at picking up on emotions and is willing to wait for you to open up to him
Even if you can act cold and distant sometimes Ranpo can tell what you are really feeling
You guys tease eachother back and forth for hours to end up cuddling and watching a movie that Ranpo can already predict what will happen
Ranpo loathes small talk and loves talking to you because you don't bother with foolish small talk
He cares a lot about your opinions and is interested in everything you have to say
Will buy pounds of dark chocolate for you guys to eat together at home
Will take you anywhere you want to go, a reastrunt or park and make you laugh as much as he can
Ranpo isn't good at giving compliments and shows you through his actions and spending time with you
Ranpo is fairly unmotivated and finds the world a little boring so having you around to make him want to get up and do things that will help people
You give him a new perspective and show him the beauty of empathy
Patience is something you need an abundance of with Ranpo and have to take him in stride
I hope you liked your match❤

hi hi looking for a match up with a bsd or/and a ikevamp character, gender doesn't matter! i'm quite blunt, and often tend to be more serious. i don't talk much out of free will unless it's with people i don't hate. i'm an aggressive person, it's both just me being me and anger issues. i have an inferiority complex;;;; my soft, vulnerable side i show only to people i trust, so that's not many. despite seeming quite uptight i guess, i like joking around and flirting with people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi anon! Thank you so much for sending in a match-up request! I did one for BSD and Ikevamp, I hope you like it!
For BSD, I match you with...
Tumblr media
Tachihara Michizou!
Tachi likes that you're blunt, it helps him to know he can take you seriously
He can also be fairly aggressive, so you two would be quite an intimidating pair when you're both riled up.
He enjoys joking around with you and loves that you always find a way to make his day
Tachi doesn't always show it in the most conventional way, but he does care about you. He's overjoyed the first time you show your more vulnerable side to him. He tried not to show it too much, but he was also touched that you trusted him.
He can relate to feeling inferior and will always try to praise you and point out when you do things well.
He'll try to ease up on the shouting, and being in the Port Mafia has taught him to never belittle or underestimate women.
And he's also learned the hard way not to comment on people's hight. However that doesn't mean he thinks any less of you. It doesn't really matter to him that much.
He's a very perceptive guy, and can tell when you're feeling anxious and find a way to help.
Mad respect that you boxed. He loves that you have hobbies and always wants to watch you and learn more about what you like.
He'll pay attention to what you collect and occasionally surprise you with a new addition that he bought you.
He's secretly a softy, so he melts when he sees you with animals.
[MANGA SPOILERS]
Don't read next point if you don't want to be spoiled
He's in the mafia so he can understand not liking cops, but he's also slightly worried you'd hate him if you found out he's with the Hunting Dogs. But he knows that if he's honest with you and listens to what you have to say, that you can work out any misunderstandings or secrets together.
Ok
[END OF MANGA SPOILERS]
All in all, your relationship with him can work as long as you take the time to talk things out and understand each other.
At the end of the day, he'll ask if he can hold you. And you two spend any evenings off just chilling together.
He'll always say "I love you" as you're falling asleep, and he thinks he's the luckiest guy to have such a unique and strong woman who puts up with him.
For Ikemen Vampire, I match you with...

Arthur C. Doyle! (please note that I haven't read his route in its entirety so if I say something about him that's out of character I apologise)
The residents initially think that you and Arthur would be friends, because you would blow off his flirting.
But you two started finding common interests and joking around with each other.
Anytime he says something that really upsets you, he takes note of it so he doesn't do it again.
He jokes a lot, but if you're ever having a panic attack or are upset, he becomes quieter and more sincere.
He doesn't try to push you to open up to him, but he wants you too.
Anytime you cook he comes in and tries to sneak some before you're finished.
He praises you everytime he discovers a new hobby of yours. He'll say cheesy stuff about it but he really is impressed.
You have mini play fights by boxing.
He's like an excited kid when he finds out you like to write. He really likes reading anything of yours. He also asks you to give your opinion on his writing from time to time.
He pays attention to things you don't like, and will try and keep them away from you. He'll nudge Theo to stop yelling and will get rid of any of his clothes that you don't like the feel of.
Open communication is important to Arthur because even he knows he may overstep sometimes. He asks you about what you're ok and not ok with.
He finds punk music strange but interesting. He eventually gets an ear for it and also shows you some of his musical favorites.
He loves hugging you from behind or just being by your side.
And he'll make sure that he tells you everyday how much he loves you and shower you with love any chance he gets. He can be a pain sometimes but he does his best to be better for you.

Hello hello! You mentioned in one of your posts you don't like how the geniuses are represented in bungou stray dogs. So i was wondering if you would like to share more on that thought and how do you think that can be improved. Hope you are safe and healthy!!!
Hello! Thank you, I hope you’re safe and healthy too!
Yeah of course! I kind of quickly went over my issues in the post you mentioned, but I can try to explain it better!
Before we get into it, a disclaimer: Asagiri is a fantastic writer. Bungou Stray Dogs is an amazing story, I absolutely love his writing in the manga and in the few novels I’ve read. His plots and characters are great, complex and full of details. I absolutely love Bungou Stray Dogs, and I’m not trying to give him tips on how to improve his story. It’s just that, as an aspiring writer myself, I like I need to stay critical of my favourite stories and whenever I realise that some elements are frustrating me or rubbing me in the wrong way, I like to try to understand why. I also want to say this is probably more a matter of personnel taste rather than an actual flaw in the story. Dazai is the most popular BSD character, so obviously, the majority of people really love how Asagiri is writing him and that’s absolutely fine. The best I can do here is to try to analyse why I don’t like always it and maybe what would make me like it more.
Also as another disclaimer, I’m not completely up to date with everything the manga and I haven’t read all of the novels, so it’s possible that I’m genuinely just missing some elements to really appreciate the way Asagiri writes Dazai’s genius abilities. But I still think I have a right to discuss it because most of my criticisms are related to the anime and to the movie and to the parts of the manga that I did read.
(I know that the question is about “geniuses” in the story, but I will actually focus on Dazai here because he is the main offender and he is the one I think about whenever I talk about “geniuses” in BSD. Fyodor does some of these things too but not as much. Also, I tend to give Fyodor a pass with most of these things because 1) he hasn’t been in the story for as long as Dazai has, he still feels like a relatively new character to me so I’m not compeltely used to him and I’m still mostly impressed when he does some of his “genius” tricks things 2) he is a villain/antagonist so no matter how much he keeps outsmarting everyone I know that he will (probably) ultimately be defeated one way or another so he is allowed to get more wins.)
Okay, so like I said before, very broadly my main issue is that Dazai never fails and always plans everything to the point where it feels more like plot armour than actual intelligence to me. Right off the bat, this might be more of personal preference, but I rarely like the “all according to keikaku” to trope (there’s a reason it turned into a meme). It can be well done and in a satisfying way, but I often get frustrated when something crazy happens and all hope seems lost and a character says “actually, this was part of my plan all along” because it can often feel like a Deus Ex Machina. Dazai does that a lot, and I think it annoys me twice as much with him because Dazai has a bad history of emotional manipulation with almost everyone he ever met, so whenever it’s revealed that he actually had a plan in motion from the beginning and just didn’t tell anyone about it, I can’t help but think “so ... you literally used everyone like pawns?” It’s not necessarily a bad thing storywise, it could actually be interesting if it was framed as Dazai relapsing in his toxic mafia ways even though he keeps trying to be a better person. I would actually love that! But more often than not, it’s framed as an amazing badass moment with everyone being really impressed and in awe (or at least that’s how I read it).
It also gives off the bad impression that Dazai can never fail. The first time that this kind of thing happens I’m genuinely impressed, but if it keeps happening again and again and again, I stop worrying about Dazai because I’m just assuming that he has a plan to save the day. And you could make the argument that I should never be worried about Dazai in the first place because he is one of the main characters and so he will probably be okay until the very end of the story, but there are some great stories out there who can make you worry about the protagonist even if you know they’re going to be okay. With Dazai, no matter what happens to him, I never worry because no matter how bad things seem to get, he just never ever fails. And it’s important for characters to fail because that’s often when character growth and development happen. That’s also what makes us appreciate a character’s intelligence.
Like I said in the previous post, I think that the best way to show your reader how smart a character is, is to show how they bounce back and react when things don’t work out for them. That’s something that the first arc of The Promised Neverland does almost perfectly. I use this example because I started watching BSD when the TPN anime began airing and so I watched the two shows almost side by side. The main kids of TNP are all supposed to be some form of geniuses in their own ways, they are way smarter than average and are extremely good at tactics, strategy, chess and all that good stuff. The whole show is about the silent mind games between them and the antagonist who is also a genius in their own right, and we see the kids failing A LOT. Without going in too many details or spoilers, we see them planning some things meticulously for days, weeks, months, and then the whole thing crashes down in a matter of seconds because their adversary was smarter than them. Sometimes it’s just small stepback that pushes them to rethink the entire thing, but sometimes it’s a huge blow that makes them think that everything is lost. And the fun part is to see them react to these defeats, to see how they learn from their mistakes and analyse the problem and come up with a solution. That’s what makes me go “holy shit, these kids are so smart!!!”
I never get that feeling with Dazai, because I never really see Dazai fail. There are a few times where I THINK that he failed, and I get really excited for a minute thinking “Oooh damn!!! He didn’t see this coming, this is so exciting, I wonder how he is going to adapt and bounce back!!! I wonder if he going to have some self-introspection and some growth!!! I wonder if he’s gonna have TO ASK FOR HELP which would be huge for him!!!” But no. Actually, he knew everything that was going to happen and this “failure” was actually part of his plan. So ... I guess that he doesn’t have to learn anything and doesn’t have to face consequences for his actions and I don’t have to worry about him.
I’m laying it on thick right now to make my point, it’s not always exactly like that. But to give you an example, the biggest offender here is the Dead Apple movie. I have a complicated relationship with Dead Apple because I think that the beginning and the first half are genuinely fantastic, with a very strong premise, wonderful character interactions, an intriguing mystery, and some great action scenes. Brilliant. But ... the second half and the climax are a big mess. Kind of a fun mess at some point I will admit, and the animation is still good and all of the Aku/Atsu/Kyouka character moments are still really strong. But I don’t think I'm the first one to say that climax and resolution are incomprehensible. You could put a gun to my head asking to explain to you Shibuzawa’s motivation, how he did what he did, what he wanted, how come all the abilities turned into a giant dragon, why Fyodor wasn’t affected, how they fixed everything in the end, and would probably take the bullet. Again, still fun, and I’m just glad to see Aku, Atsu and Kyouka kicking ass. But now I’m supposed to believe that DAZAI HAD PLANNED THIS ENTIRE MESS FROM THE VERY BEGINNING?
This really took me out of the movie. It was especially frustrating for me because I was ecstatic about Dazai getting stabbed only a few minutes before that climax. Don’t worry, I still care about Dazai, it wasn’t because I wanted him to die or anything! But I was so happy to see him fail! I was so happy to see him being outsmarted by two other people! I was so happy to see him surprised and worried and out of his element! I was so happy to see things not go his way for once!!! It made Dazai feel more real, more human, and more vulnerable! It made Fyodor feel more dangerous, like an actual worthy adversary who had played him like a fiddle! I was thinking that MAYBE just maybe, he would need the help of Atsushi, Aku, Kyouka and the ADA to succeed! I was thinking that it was going to be a character moment for him, where he would realise that he can’t do everything on his own and that if he had told the ADA what was going to happen and what was his plan, things would have worked out better! Hahahahaha ... oh what a clown I was ...
Because nope! Turned out that this all part of Dazai’s plan from the very beginning. He knew that Fyodor would betray him, he knew he would get stabbed, he knew everything that Fyodor and Shibuzawa would do after stabbing him, he knew that all the abilities would turn into a huge dragon (somehow????) and he knew how to stop it. Look, I’m sure that things are explained better in the manga or the novel, and I’m sure that many fans could tell me exactly how he knew all that. But to me, it didn’t feel like Dazai being smart, it felt like he was blessed with the author’s clairvoyance.
This whole post feels a little messy. I hope that managed to explain what I didn’t like about how Dazai’s genius is portrayed in the story. Dazai RARELY fails which means 1) I’m never actually worried about him even when shit hits the fan 2) I’m not impressed with his intelligence because it’s so infallible that it feels more like Asagir knowing his plot than Dazai actually figuring things out before anyone else 3) if he never fails, I never get to see him grow and learn and change, and so it’s ultimately always the same thing over and over again.
As to how I would improve it ... I mean, just have him fail sometimes you know? Have him fail for real, not as part of an even greater plan. I remember getting excited yet again when Fydor shot him in season 3 but I just got bamboozled yet again. Dazai is literally in jail right now, but I can’t bring myself to care because I just know that it’s all part of a bigger plan and that when he’ll go out he will give us the good all “just as I had planned from the beginning”. I mean, maybe not, who knows, I would LOVE to be surprised by Asagiri on this one! But yeah, the “all according to Keikaku” route seems more likely.
Also, I’m hesitant to bring this up because I genuinely don’t know if I’m supposed to take it seriously or not but ... the scene with Dazai and Fyodor speaking in a made-up language in prison kind of represents everything I dislike about the genius Dazai trope. Again, maybe I’m reading the scene completely wrong, but to me, it really comes off as “Ooooh look these two are SO SUPERIORLY SMART that no one can understand what they’re saying!!!” and that’s my point. Not to go back to TPN, but I’m impressed with the kids because although I could never come up with the plans they come up with, whenever they explain the plans I actually understand them and even think “wow, that makes so much sense” and that’s what makes it impressive and clever to me. But yeah, like I said, with this specific scene I think I might have genuinely missed what Asagiri was actually trying to do, so I don’t want to dwell on it too much.
So yeah, have Dazai fail every once in a while. I know that Asagiri can write Dazai failing because he has done it before. With Oda.
Not to get hyperbolic on main, but the Oda arc/flashback is kind of a masterpiece in my eyes. That’s Asagiri at his best, showing us what an incredibly talented writer he is. There are many reasons why this arc is so good, but one of the main reasons (in my eyes) is that Dazai fails to save Oda. And this is what has prompted the biggest chance in his character so far.
Dazai and Oda’s relationship was incredible because Oda was the (1) person that Dazai couldn’t read or manipulate and that’s kind of why Dazai couldn’t save him. Dazai is a genius, but with all of his cleverness and tactics and schemes, he couldn’t save the person that he loved the most. And that’s good writing, that’s good drama! That’s a good situation to put Dazai in! Oda wasn’t wrapped around Dazai’s little finger unlike so many other characters in the story, it was kind of the other way around. And it wasn’t because Oda was smarter than Dazai, Oda was actually a very simple man, and that’s what made it all so interesting. I easily get frustrated with Dazai these days, but his relationship with Oda is one of the main elements that will always bring me back to him no matter what.
Of course, I’m not saying that we need to see something as massive as this all the time. Dazai’s failure to save Oda should probably stay unique in the story because it’s such a strong catalyser. This is what prompted the biggest (and arguably only) change in Dazai so far, we don’t need to see something as big again before a while. But like ... small little failures you know? Dazai not being able to read somehow as well as he thought. Dazai miscalculating something. Dazai actually needing someone’s help (and not just as a tool in his plan).
There are small moments like this in the story mind you, I just wish that there were more. One I really like is during the first half of the Azur King arc. Dazai and Kunikida are each fighting different guys across a warehouse, and it becomes apparent that Dazai can’t defeat his adversary who doesn’t have an ability for him to nullify and is more of a fighter (which Dazai is not), while Kunikida can’t defeat the ability user fighting him. They both realise that they can’t win their fight, quickly assess the situation, find each other in the space, realise that they need to switch adversaries if they want to win, and they do it. AND THAT’S IT. Just Dazai realising that he couldn’t defeat this guy on his own, quickly assessing his options, bouncing back immediately with Kunikida’s help, and saving the day just like that. On a micro-scale, this is what I would like to see more of. Like I said, you have a bunch of small moments like this one in the story and I really appreciate them, but I just wish we could have more of that or at least to have these moments when it matters more.
Okay, so I think that’s mostly it? I hope that everything was clear and that my arguments felt reasonable. Like I said, this might all be a matter of personnel preferences and that’s fine with me. I love Bungou Stray Dogs with all my heart, but there a lot of times where Dazai’s capacity to get away with absolutely everything is genuinely harming my enjoyment for the story. And you know, maybe everything that I’m criticizing here is actually on purpose! In this post, I talked a lot about how Dazai never failing meant that he never need to grow, learn, and change his ways, but I can actually accept that Asagiri is doing this on purpose. I know that part of Dazai’s characterisation is that he doesn’t feel like a human, and so maybe Asagiri is purposely trying to portray him as “inhuman” as possible, and maybe that’s why I feel like I never see him grow or change because he is supposed to be this superior, almost otherworldly and constant presence in the story. Or maybe Asagiri is trying to show us that, despite his best efforts, Dazai will never be able to truly change his ways from Port Mafia and will always remain a detached manipulating person. I don’t really like that option, but maybe that’s the case, who knows? That would be interesting. (I actually think that Dazai is still more motivated by the promise that he made to Oda than by any genuine desire to be a good person, but that’s a whole other subject). All of this would arguably explain what I personally see as a lack of growth, but it still doesn’t help me to believe that Dazai is actually all that smart. Like I keep saying, people saying “it was part of my plan” whenever shit hits the fan is not impressive to me, but people quickly adapting to failures and immediately coming up with new solutions based on what they learned is.
But at the end of the day, this is Asagiri’s story and I would never even dream of telling him what to do with his characters. He is a great writer, and no matter how much I complain about Dazai sometimes, I still trust every decision he makes because I believe that he knows where he is going with him and with the story.
This post was very long and a little messy, I feel like I repeated myself quite a lot, but I hope it was still interesting!

God ye dazai n chuuya are so fun together on screen. Its the familiarity of them that i really like though, like even after so much time it feels like they have internal jokes ( i will never not belive that chuuya doing the impression of a young girl with turned in feet ISNT an internal joke. Anime kinda doesnt do it justice cuz it has dazai go 'ah its not funny' when in the manga dazai bursts out laughing n i love that much more) n like after all that time they can still cooperate so easily and casualy with each other. Chuuya is really a trooper here cuz hes the one putting himself in most harm and i find that still after all this time he can still trust dazai to think of a good tactic and deal with the aftermath.
I think soukoku has this special thing where it is enemies to lovers but you can also sirta read it, and i usually do as 'enemies to friend to lovers to enemies again to lovers again maybe'. Like i like ull get baby dazai n chuuya at the start of s3 so ull see but ive always headcanoned that dazai n chuuya had a sort of a reletionship before dazai left and i love the betreyal, the pining, the tension that would come from that. It just has so much potential for so many interesting dynamics and oh my god its happening im getting dragged into soukoku again
The thing is that episode was also one of the things that soured me on soukoku. Like this has nothing to do with the show and everything to do with how fandom treated chuuya at the time (im honestly not sure how they do now i havent been active in ages) but back then i always felt like chuuya was treated as sort of a decoration to dazai much like how hawks gets treated as deciration to dabi.
And in that scene dazai betrays chuuyas trust. Like its played for a joke but thats what happens. Chuuya is on his last legs and he asks dazai to make sure to get him back to safety, he puts that trust in him, he proves that he still trusts in their partnership and in dazai.
And dazai just leaves him there.
Like its heavily implied that chuuyas quirk hurts him greatly, destroys him inside out. Without dazai he would die during corruption and dazai is late to stop him mostly to fuck with him, prolonging possible damege to his body. Like once again anime doesnt do manga justice here i was FURIOUS when i saw the way anime potrayed corruption because they made it look oooo pretty aesthetic swirls in the manga it was horrifying it looked much more like wounds. And knowing dazai just leaves chuuya all alone suffering who knows what kind of damege without indication did he call for anyone to pick him up for anything, like it doesnt paint dazai in a pretty light.
And thats fine, dazai isnt a morally upright character and theres a lot to unpack there about him not caring for chuuya as much as other way around but when this episode first aired the fandom reaction was this:
'Awwww dazai is so sweet, he folded chuuyas clothes and everything, he loves him so much'
Like i know its played for a gag but that fandom reaction of romanticizing a clear act of neglect for jokes sake just really soured me off of soukoku for a long time
I’ve just watched the first two episodes of season 3 and I really do love Dazai’s and Chuuya’s dynamic T-T Get dragged into soukoku hell because I’m pretty sure I’m going to spiral into it too (I watched the movie last night and they really had to use a Snow White and Prince Charming theme for the two of them, didn’t they XD My god, how can they do this stuff and then not expect us to ship them!), enemies to lovers really do make the most interesting ships!
I saw the image you sent of corruption and damn does the manga really show us the extent of the damage it does to Chuuya then the anime does and yeah, I can see why you would be upset with Dazai for him not deactivating the ability straight away despite Chuuya putting his trust in him to do so (though I did like that about the movie, Chuuya trusted Dazai to stop him when he reached him and he did and man... I want to see more of these two because I love them so much T-T)
It’s actually incredible how much trust Chuuya and Dazai put in each other other, though I can see why with Dazai, people would view it more of him being smart and manipulating events rather then purely trusting Chuuya.
I haven’t really explored the fandom side of BSD’s yet so I have no clue what the fandom does, usually in fandom I just find people whose stories I like and then explore their bookmarks because they’re more likely to like similar characterisations to their own (it’s how I find most of my favourite stories in fandom, actually). It sounds like I’m going to have to do that with these two, as well.

[1/2]Hi! Could I have a bsd male match-up pls? At first I can look a bit boring bcs in big groups of people I'm very quiet and shy, but when I'm alone w/ someone I'll always try to start a conversation. I'm pretty polite but I'm also often daydreaming so I tend to forget things/be late. When confident w/ someone I show my more weird, blunt (I value honesty a lot) and sarcastic side. The more I romantically like someone the more I jokingly insult them. To make up for it though I have super sweet
[2/2]moments where I make sure the other knows I really care for them. I'm usually attracted by kind or funny people. I'm calm/lazy, but I talk passionately about things I love like anime/books/movies. I reflect a lot on things (I'm VERY indecisive) and I love to write. I'm pretty positive, I almost never get angry, only irritated. I don't like to shout/being shouted at, but that also means sometimes people can step on me without much problem. This is my first match-up, so thank you very much
You sound like a classic sweetheart and so I’m matching you with someone just as sweet: Atsushi! You’re both very gentle at first impression; you’re both polite and a little shy, trying to make sure that the other is comfortable because you’re also both considerate. You’ll probably be the first to initiate more lively or intimate conversation because he can be a bit hesitant, maybe thinking that you only see him as just another acquaintance. But when you do, it’s so worth it!
Atsushi is smart and passionate; it’s been stated that he likes to read in his spare time, so I can see you exchanging thoughts about the most recent stories you’ve read or watched in the café below the ADA office. I just know he’d love to listen to you! He’d often get lost in your voice and just stare at you lovingly... which makes you two the target of practically everyone else’s teasing, sorry! Depending on how quirky and playful you are, you might be able to turn the tables or divert the teasing to Atsushi (lol), but this is how you two become a couple! Eventually, all of the teasing just puts a smile on his face and he reverse uno’s you by complimenting you with such sincerity that it’s bound to make you just as flustered as he is! He’d love, love, LOVE all the support that you give him, and steps up for you when you need it.
There’s an unspoken agreement amongst the rest of the ADA that their additional mission to protect the happiness of this darling couple!

Atsushi and Akutagawa has always been ride or die for Dazai.
Dazai's kids are more rampaging than Odasaku's orphans. They just don't go well together. In fact, they would be willing to kill each other when lazily pushed. But these two no matter how much hatred they have, they could create a blast when they work together, so yes Dazai being a fan of "teamwork makes the dream work". But it was not that these two were made for each other to be a younger version of Double Black. In fact, their representation to their senior is much more than just a Shin Soukouku. They both reminded Dazai of his past and present and possibly future.
Back in his Port Mafia days, it's always been fight or die so Akutagawa had to be strong or stronger in order to live because that's Port Mafia. Imagine having the power to control the underground, you have to be strict and merciless and more authorative. Akutagawa's health is crucial that's why Dazai had to break his bones before anyone could kill him for good. This rather cruel treatment Akutagawa received from his mentor crafted a somewhat goal to him as his motive to fulfill the standards Dazai had set. It became his ultimate goal that later gone wrong and bloomed a feeling of anger and hatred. This became more intense when Dazai had gone MIA, abandoned his mission, and left Port Mafia. It's as if Akutagawa had lost all strands of hopes he was willing to build to get that approval and of course who wouldn't get hurt like that. He's ghosted.
But did he really not care about his eldest son?
I think Dazai purposely left that kind of impression to Akutagawa so he would hate him and continue to get stronger and one day prove to him how he gotten strong; and that he would match his soon-to-be partner in crime, Atsushi my baby. That's why whilst fighting his own demons, Dazai managed to escape before anyone could notice that he's sinking... and he wanted Akutagawa to apply all he has taught him since day 1 and one day, be able to finally realize what it meant to be "strong".
On the other hand, Dazai had to tame the beast and recruit him to become a member of Armed Detective Agency. While Akutagawa is in the dark side, Atsushi with his naive, innocent and pure posture needs to be on the lighter side since opposite attracts. Dazai knows Akutagawa will do everything to surpass his goals so he thought he should be fine in the Port Mafia- secretly hiding his intention of preparing the two as mini double black version for the bloody battle against Fyodor the rat Dostoyevsky. As a detective, Dazai's treatment to Atsushi is soft compared to Akutagawa who sufferred in a lot of killings. By murdering people, Akutagawa had somehow found a reason to live not for himself but also for his sister, Gin. Unlike Akutagawa, Atsushi was more vulnerable, more tender that if he's been told to kill himself, he would arguably, eventually rather do over a period of unfortunate time. So Dazai had to carefully mold him and build barriers to Atsushi's fragile vessel sans giving him the idea of being "privileged".
That does mean different treatment means biased?
I don't think that's the case.
Dazai Osamu and The Dark Era, Chapter 3
Tumblr media
In the Dark Era, when Odasaku asked Dazai about his subordinate Akutagawa I was convinced that Dazai already  "approved" Akutagawa's strength because if not, then there's no need for him to passively invite him in Port  Mafia. There's no need to waste time of hard training without special treatment. And the question still lingered at the tip of my tongue waiting to recall of what we known as an excuse or "reason". I think Dazai saw Akutagawa in him. No emotion at all. Just a powerful stray dog running around the alley slums, doing everything to survive. He's filled with anger and revenge and that's what keeps driving him to hold on. Even if it's cruel, even if it's painful. Back to history, Dazai Osamu appreciated Ryunosuke Akutagawa and he looked up to him so bad that it affected him when the latter committed suicide. This drove the aspiring author to follow the footsteps of his idol. In BSD, their roles are reversed. It was Akutagawa who was longing for Dazai's appreciation and Akutagawa seems not a fan of his mentor's suicidal habits.
The rather odd truth I found by their relationship was simply assuming. The retrospect taught me to look again in another point of view. Akutagawa is Dazai's past self, emotions, feelings, even boredom. He reminds him of what was the smell of bloodlust and violence again before he realized it was too late. It seems he "hates" Akutagawa because he still could not forgive himself for what happened though no one was saying it's easy. But after the exasperating fight with The Guild, he pulled off his mentor status and finally after a long period of time, he delivered the words by himself in person, "You've gotten strong", a few words enough for Akutagawa to realized Atsushi was right all along and his view of the world was twisted and wrong. Dazai knows it was the only resolution to pave a way for Akutagawa's character development and it needs to be him as his superior.
I think the miscommunication between these two were  notably shown. It was like:
For Dazai: Action speaks louder than words; but
For Akutagawa: The pen is mightier than the sword.
Tumblr media
Akutagawa's jealousy or should I say, envy as we follow the chapters and the episode was enormous that it blinded him from the very path he wanted to take. The paces became blurry and muddy it was like he stepped directly on a quicksand and he forgot what he should do at times of chaos that killing is not always the right solution. This is why Dazai could not reach him in the first season's ending song. He does not know when enough is enough and because they were both a shadow of darkness in the past, there was only one boat eligible for one person and Dazai chose to save no one nor himself. This could also explain at least for me, when Dazai touched Atsushi's head, Akutagawa cried in blood. The blood represents his anger saturated with confusion and betrayal. Why did it have to be Atsushi and not him. But this could also explain that the both of them were submerging and they needed someone whose heart is strong no ability could ever tear, someone whose soul is pure and innocent. Someone who understands both good and evil but proceeded with kindness. He did not choose between them. He simply sought salvation and by faith, he met Atsushi.
Tumblr media
Changing the focus to Atsushi, who's been tortured in his childhood, tormented, and broken, he was way unfortunate than the both of them. For the sake of his mental health, Dazai had to guide him into the light even though it means staying with him in the present. He even let himself captured by the Port Mafia to obtain information regarding the 7 billion bounty put on Atsushi's head. If someone asks me, I think he's already melting the brick facade he built for himself and Atsushi was the only one who notices that he's trying to get better. Atsushi is the living proof of Odasaku's last words, to be on the side that saves the poor because his life will at least get better, that is... if you're trying to live. Why did he obey Odasaku aside from the fact that he was his only true friend? Wasn't it because he felt guilty or he's just sentimental? No. It's because... he actually wanted to taste how living actually is. And he did. Now, things are going to change. For him, for Akutagawa and also for Atsushi.
And for Dazai, he caught himself tangled by Atsushi's healing abilities. He reminds Dazai of the beauty of the world without violence. Atsushi's view might find argumentative but at least it's philisophical. Atsushi always find the right words whenever Dazai talks to him. A simple nod, and "yes" brought a slight suprise to him. It's Atsushi's nature that even knowing the good and evil, Atsushi wish to perceive good and kindness. And to this extent, the rotten past Dazai was trying to conceal felt a permission to be forgiven. It took only one touch in the forehead for him to approve of Atsushi and as he tried to get along with him, he is also learning and developing. Atsushi might open doors for Dazai and also for Akutagawa to completely move forward.
After the war shin sokoukou had gone through, Dazai showed us that these two when guide together, is like a perfect harmony that without realizing, compliment each others' strength and value thus also discrediting his contribution, for us to realize that one does not need any appreciation or recognition to realize your own worth.
You are worthy and it's something you should NEVER ask validation from nor apologize for.
That's all for today, I'm beat, notice me Chuuya senpai ;-;

dazai pls? :)
No problem! I am always happy to receive asks. This one was a little delayed because I napped during the middle of asking it. This is gonna get a little bit long (the other ones were long, but I never put a line whoops). This one gets into both anime (Dead Apple and otherwise) and manga spoiler territory. You have been warned!
Tumblr media
First impression
I’ll be honest, I almost dropped this series a few times because of Dazai. I found the way that they introduced him was very… nonsensical and almost insensitive. It was definitely not what we would qualify as “politically correct” by today’s standards, and his appearance certainly was off-putting as well with the bandages flapping in the wind. He came off as a good-for-nothing scoundrel who was a little distasteful.
Current Impression
Well, he’s certainly changed! He went from being an irresponsible reckless fool to an irresponsible reckless fool with impeccable (and overpowered) intelligence and a purpose!
Favourite moment
Odasaku’s death scene and really any moments with Odasaku (pre and post-death). I know that those scenes were much more of a highlight for Odasaku, but it was also a pivotal moment for Dazai’s character.
Idea for a story
I was just talking about this idea today! It was in response to my BSD Questionnaire (which I’m having a lot of fun reading the answers for)
@dreaming-of-butterflies actually brought it up again (hehe)
I’m about to go on a bit of a tangent. Forgive my awful writing. The last fanfiction I wrote was for Peppa Pig meeting Dazai. I wish I was kidding, but yeah, my last fanfic was Peppa Pig facing off against Dazai.
It was early on a Saturday afternoon with the exhausted sun shining over Yokohama just before the curtain call which would call it a day. The Detective Agency was slow but still running when a man knocked on the door. He opened it apprehensively.
“Is there anything we can help you with, sir?” Atsushi asked.
The man stumbled back slightly. His voice croaked and trembled, “My name is Eliot… Thomas Stearns Eliot.” He glanced over at Atsushi as if there was something right next to him.
“Is something wrong?” Atsushi asked. He looked over to his side. There was no one there.
“It’s just that…” he slowly pointed, “there is a man there.”
“Pardon–”
“He is there. He is a tall stern man in a white coat. He keeps mouthing over and over again, ‘You cannot forgive me.’”
Atsushi staggered and lost his balance. His hands were trembling. Why? What was this man saying? The man from the orphanage, the headmaster, was there? He was dead! He was ecstatic about it. Words couldn’t form from his mouth.
“Atsushi? What’s wrong?” Tanizaki asked.
“I knew he was dead. He’s dead.” Atsushi mumbled under his breath.
The man was frazzled, “My ability… it’s called Until Human Voices Wake Us. It requires me to pass on messages from people who are dead. I must say these things or else something within me will vanish. If I ignore a spirit’s request to make contact, I lose a memory from my past. I want to know how to remove it! That’s why I came here! I want this ability gone! It has ruined too many people. I can’t take it anymore.”
“You!” he pointed to Kyouka who was on the opposite side of the room. “You have two people standing by your side. They look just like you.” He paused, “Your parents… they truly loved you. They are so happy for you. They say they are sorry for not being able to stay by your side. They wanted to protect you… they really wanted to protect you.” The man was now crying a little. “They said that they love you more than anything in the world and that they wish that they could’ve done something different than to spare you the pain of witnessing their deaths. ‘Please forgive us Kyouka. We promise to never leave your side. We will always love you.’”
Dazai walked into the room. The man flinched. The man opened his mouth, “There is a man with reddish brown hair next to you.” Dazai’s eyes opened wide. He had eavesdropped on the conversation, but he didn’t know that Odasaku would be at his side, not at a time like this.
“The man standing next to you… he has five kids, four boys and a girl. He’s smiling. He’s saying, ‘I’m proud of you.’” He was about to say more when Dazai placed his hand on the man’s shoulder nullifying his ability. Dazai looked like he had tears in his eye but not a single one was shed.
Unpopular opinion
I wish Ranpo got more of a spotlight than Dazai for his intelligence and capabilities. Ranpo is the smartest, but they always rely on Dazai to compete and solve all these problems. He’s always the one facing off with Fyodor and giving the exposition on “how we solved this”. I want to see Ranpo doing it because we don’t always get enough of it, and Ranpo is more than an ongoing side plot that plays into the main story. We need our crime-solving sleuth back! Dazai can be smart and he can solve things, but let’s not lose focus on the true #1 detective!
Favourite relationship
I can go on about Dazai and Atsushi, but I think that ones really clear on why their dynamic is so great. This time, I’m going to focus on the Dark Era Trio and Odazai!
I’m going to be copying and pasting a lot of my previous post’s points. [Source] (also, sorry for OP because looking back on it, I completely hijacked their post and I’m really sorry for that)
Dazai still lives in the same body and soul that he did when he was in the Mafia. Despite moving from the Port Mafia to the ADA, he couldn’t pull the complete 180 on himself. He still lives in a shadow of his previous actions, and that’s why he truly doesn’t believe he’s a good person.
Odasaku saw that good in Dazai even during his darkest moments. If he didn’t believe in Dazai, he wouldn’t have told him to be on the side that saves people. Odasaku saw Dazai beyond his depression, suicidal urges, and the suffering he’s been through. He trusted him to carry on the legacy he left behind.
Dazai still can’t completely get over the death of his best friend. Look at the first set of screenshots.
Dazai: “Does it look like I’m visiting a grave to you?”Atsushi: “It does. [Why?]”
Tumblr media
That look on his face is shock. He is still shaken. He still hangs and loiters by Odasaku’s grave as if he’s still alive. It’s not like he’s expecting him to get up, but he acts like he’s still existing.
Dazai, to me, is one of those people that would buy a crab and a plate of curry. He would place the curry on the gravestone of Odasaku. He eats some of the crab he brought for himself. He brings some alcohol. He talks to him all night and says all that has happened. He talks about the agency, Atsushi, Kunikida, and he talks about how he misses the trio. He admits he didn’t know what Ango has been up to.
Just look at this Wan! cover
Tumblr media
Ango himself isn’t over the death either. Ango is the one who covered for the both of them so that Dazai would be able to leave the Mafia.
“I made use of it only once. Four years ago… so that Dazai-kun could live outside the Mafia. I erased his past sins.”“Why did you get your hands dirty only once?”“For a friend who is no longer here. To repent, at least minimally, for my sins to him.”
[Quote Source]
That’s why they’re my favourites!
Favourite headcanon
As previously mentioned, Dazai sits by Oda’s grave and has a meal.
Another mini-excursion because I feel like it. Again, forgive my awful writing because I really can’t write (probably because I don’t read).
“Yo Odasaku!” Dazai leaned against the grave of Sakunosuke Oda. He placed a plate of curry on the opposite side of the grave. Dazai tore open the shell of a crab and began eating it. Two glasses of alcohol were placed.
“Be on the side that saves people,” Dazai mumbled. “You know, the Detective Agency is a lot better than the Mafia! There are all kinds of fun people, and best of all, I don’t have to deal with that asshat Chuuya! You know, I got to blow up his car before I left. Thank goodness for Ango.” He paused and took a bite and a swig. “Speaking of Ango, I still really miss us. Lupin just isn’t the same without you. I haven’t talked to Ango in ages either… the guy works for the government now too.” He sighed then smiled, “But yeah, the Detective Agency is great! Chuuya isn’t there, Ranpo is the world’s greatest detective, I get to mess with Kunikida, Shachou is so cool, Yosano used to be in the Mafia but managed to escape, and Atsushi… you would love Atsushi! He’s so naive and difficult, he cries so often, but his heart… it reminds me of yours.”

For the character ask meme how about Atsushi?
Sushi Tiger boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
First impression: Baby. BABY BOY who is a secret badass??? I keep adopting children with uneven hair and childhood trauma I realized  Also... I just thought Atsushi was so pretty??? So he caught my attention because of that. ALSO HE’S A WHITE TIGER? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHITE TIGERS. HE’S SO BEAUTIFUL. ❤ He’s also so sweet. ;;;; Protect him!!!
Tumblr media
Impression now: I’m a bit behind on BSD right now a.k.a I still need to read the manga cause I hear Atsushi has better writing in it? But even in the parts of the anime I’ve seen I’m happy with how much he’s grown with his relationships and also his ability!!! But I heard the anime recently left out a lot of stuff for him... that bums me out he’s being overshadowed like that. :/
Favorite moment: The scene where Dazai told Atsushi “Do not pity yourself. If you wallow in self-pity, life will be an endless nightmare.” and  he faced his inner self a.k.a the tiger? Such a beautiful scene to me. I got pretty emotional. ;w;) That quote also just really resonated with me too.
Idea for a story: I don’t think I have any ideas that haven’t already been done...? I don’t know I have a hard time making good ideas for Atsushi even though I love him a lot. I’M A BAD WRITER.
Unpopular opinion: ...I don’t know how unpopular this opinion is?? But I seen several people not like Atsushi or think his trauma is “annoying” cause the series keeps showing the same flashback at the orphanage and all that, and they want Atsushi to “just get over it.” Like... wow...? He obviously has PTSD or something. Atsushi has obvious anxiety and has certain things that trigger traumatic flashbacks for him.... like to me it makes a lot of sense? Cause people who have that kind of traumatic stress disorder don’t “JUST GET OVER IT” so fast and so easily.... To me it makes his character feel so much more.... real, you know?
Favorite relationship: I used to ship Dazai and Atushi quite a bit lol still kinda do but my favorite relationship is Atsushi and Kyouka! NOT IN A ROMANTIC WAY BEFORE ANYONE COMES SWINGING OVER HERE. but I love their little brother sister relationship they have!!!! It’s.... just so cute. 💕💕💕 I’M WEAK FOR THAT KIND OF THING!!!
Favorite headcanon: Hadsjdljfa I had a good one in mind and I lost it... but tbh? Feel free to send Atsushi headcanons~ I miss them and need more please!!!! IT’S BEEN AWHILE!!!!

When I watched Persona 4 anime at first I wasn’t having huge focus on her at first because she was a side cast (who would join later, how else would be she in the OPs? They weren’t subtle in that) and my interest in her grew the more she was around and “happened to figure out what was going on”. There are three factors for that: personality. similarities we had and the character development.
This will be a long post, so I’ll put in Read More. I mean, this is Naoto who I am talking about so I’ll have lots of points.
Tumblr media
1st point: personality.
Dear God, I absolutely love her personality traits and how she’s not picture perfect, especially how serious, sassy and snarky she can be. I’ve always had a type for quiet, serious characters who can defend themselves if needed and who always tell idiot people off & complain if sth is astray and it’s been a general sign on how the smart guy in the room is my favorite. Kunikida and Akiko stole my heart in BSD, in AA it was Miles and Apollo, and my initial fave girls in Love Live were Dia Kurosawa and Eli Ayase.
But unlike you expected P4 had the excellent idea to show how this wasn’t particularly the best idea and seeing the backlash in a good extend gave me realism and made her more real and more than a troupe repeater of “idolized detective”. She might be cool and the lone wolf but her standoffish behavior caused people to leave her alone and her being kinda rude IT to snap back at her and hit a sore subject. THAT’S THE STUFF I WANT. Show me the downsides of being like a jackass and how it affects you and how you evolve. Show me how she’s human, not a pixel character and how this is like real life.
This scene was the kicker for me and what confirmed that yep, she’s going to be the number one for me. Only Naoto has the courage and audacity to say this to people she just met without any filter and not give the best impression she has - and make the whole thing a huge comedy at the same time.
Tumblr media
2nd point: Similarities & I 100% get you - feeling
The similarity aspect hit me after she got my attention and progressed in the anime bc we have a lot of same traits and habits. Believe it or not, I used to speak a lot more formally IRL and in messages than I do now - and guess who also is super formal mature 24/7? We both also have similar career choice aspects and dilemmas (male dominated aka sexism will always be there, demands intelligence), at one point acted older or different to fit in, aren’t that socially skilled, trust is gained really slowly and the temper & internal monologuing I used to have is scarily similar.
I legit felt her pain and can understand her struggles in a deep way and the dungeon she had amplified on this. She’s like me and vice versa and she became my spirit animal real fast.  Some ppl have claimed her dungeon or backgrounds didn’t follow “show, don’t tell” pattern but lemme tell you, sexism can be so hidden between lines like racism and it’s fully legit for her to be the way she was. Ofc there was no basis on some facts but I fixed to my tastes and hcs I had.
3rd point: Character growth
Naoto’s character development and how it continued to grow after the anime was probably the final nail in the coffin on how she’s perfect to me despite her flaws. She managed to outgrow most of the bad habits she has but still remained the core she had aka being the killjoy of IT, smart detective, cute at times without meaning it and, well... the aspects I love in her.
It proved to me again how she was more than a 2D character or one-troupe repeat version and how they’d seen effort in her character and addressed an issue close and important to me - and made her likable and pretty relatable without making a huge fuss on how her closet fangirling is uncommon or sth like that.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk

Rules: list your top 5 favorite anime characters and then tag 10 people
I was tagged by @bsd-bibliophile. I’m honored. ^^
I tried not to list characters from the same anime. These characters have great impact on me and still leave some impression in my memory. Here you are:
1. Orihara Izaya (Durarara!!)
Tumblr media
Izaya doesn’t have supernatural power or lead a powerful gang. But he has his brain and his perception. And he’s unpredictable, which I think is really dangerous and makes him a formidable villain (if he wishes to be).
He can be good to people, but he can’t be trusted. And that quality makes him a lone wolf who has no true friend. I personally think he feels lonely so that’s why he seeks love from human, but again he knows so well about human so he backs away from relationship. Such controversy is what I like about him.
2. Akutagawa Ryuunosuke (Bungou Stray Dogs)
Tumblr media
Akutagawa first appears to be a terrifying villian. He has strong ability and doesn’t hesitate to kill people if needed. But as the story progresses, little by little, he shows his soft side. He is so vulnerable emotionally, yearning for acknowledgement (and love. He really needs it). And I personally think his design has symbolic meaning: the stern black coat with soft ruffled shirt underneath. Really just like his personality.
Meeting Atsushi has great impact on him. I think they truly are the opposite of each other, and at the same time the complement that fullfills each other. I already love how he changed and showed more of his emotions. So I’m really looking forward to see more development on his character.
3. Levi Ackerman (Attack on Titan)
Tumblr media
Levi is strong, physically and emotionally. and he has a high sense of responsibility. He seems to be a bit crude on the outside but he cares a lot about his comrades. He also has good judgement and observation, and that makes him a good leader.
Levi has a really strong will in my opinion. When it comes to make a crucial decision, he chooses the best choice despite what he has to sacrifice. How can human has a strong heart like that? I think his personality is so admirable.
4. Walter C. Dornez (HELLSING)
Tumblr media
Walter still comes up at the top of my list. I love his many “faces”, both in roles and appearance. At first he seems to be an ordinary butler, then he turns into a bodyguard, and then something more as the story progresses.
He is noble and has his own judgement. He is ready to cross everyone who defies his belief whether it’s friend or foe. I love how his character has developed throughout the story.
5. Gray Fullbuster (FAIRY TAIL)
Tumblr media
Gray is cool and smart, assessing situation calmly and use his brain more than his brawl. Even if he is in a pinch or the opponent is stronger than him, he can always think of a way to overcome his enemy.
But apart from the cool appearance, he is so sentimental. He rarely shows his sentimental side, but when he does, it’s always heartbreaking. ;_;
I’m bad at tagging people lol, but feel free to do (or ignore) this at your leisure.
I tag @raichana, @monoghost, @lefterstein, @coffeebookbandbat, @3rdgymbros, @uzukun, @silent-rabid-writer, @becausewhenyoupracticeyouimprove, @alice-chan-chan, @gray-x-natsus-matching-hip-scars

15 tag game
Not tagging anyone in particular so yeah im aready kind of breaking rules again but whatever lol. Tagged by wonderful @lycoryllis one again ^^
1. Are you named after anyone?
Nope, my name was chosen by draw by my fathers ex collegues. If I was a boy I would be either called Thomas or by my father Peter and knowing him he would definitely choose his name so yeah
2. When was the last time you cried?
Eeh probably two weeks ago?? I had a pretty bad weekend back then
3. Do you have kids?
No
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Sometimes, it really depends on the people I’m around. Tbh I do not see myself to be a sarcastic person so I guess it depends on the situation. I think that if I use it then i tis mostly around my family and close friends. I do not open up to strangers or at school or in  public to people so it is only natural I would be less sarcastic
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
In general, I think I look at theor face firts then rest of the body. I do think I judge people based on theri first impression on me at least for a while before i get to know them better soo I am not immune to making prejuduces about them. I guess if someone were to look in my head they would want to have nothing to do with me lol I tend to judge the way they talk or what face expression they make biut mostly I judge their appearance. Sight I think that is also why I cant get boyfriend – I have a certain prefernces even in looks but those guys tend to be the worst or the y are gay or they are taken so yeah
6. What’s your eye color?
Grey blue – I was born with blue eyes but you know how they change during life – my dad has very strange color combinantions and I inhereted that from him I guess – in differnt light they may appear green, gray or even blue. All in all just know they are mostly greyish blue
7. Scary movie or happy ending?
I generally don’t like scary movies unless we are talking about surreal horor or psychological horror such as was anime and game Higurashi. I do not do well with gore but that series was waay more than that and so I did not mind. I think I do like happy endings over scary ones – I grew up on  fairytales and later as a teen on rom cons after all- but lately since I started to like thrillers and crimi series –and played  lots of games with that genre- I started to welcome bad endings too. It is fiction after all and sometimes some pretty shitty but well written bad ending can be waay better than happy ending / thats is why I was sad to learn everything turned out well in Clannad – the ending with Tomoya losing all was freaking sad but amazing and realistic af which I always appreciate
8. Any special talents?
I tend to think I am just average in everything I do. I am so jealous over anyone who has high IQ for example it feels like those guys just swim through life without any worries or care in the world whike I struggle here in academics. If they appear arrogant about it that is. Aside from itellegence I do not excel in other areas that much as well.
9. Where were you born?
In a very small country in Middle Europe – we are surrounded by countries such as Poland, Hungary and even Ukraine and Austria. I was born in second biggest city here but compared to rest of Europe we do not stand out that much. I leave our flag here so you can check it out. We have a beautiful mountains up in north for which we are well known for and our surrounding countries often visit them
10. What are your hobbies?
I like lots of things but not all of them can be called hobbies I do not engage in them that much. Those hobbies would be walking with my dog, swimming, cycling and dancing. Then there are my true hobbies – those include reading books, playing otomr or RPG games and as you all know anime and manga. I used to draw a lot too as a kid but I am not good and i tis not something I can do as I am nt patient enough. Then I also used to sing a lot with my grandpa. I think singing would have becomem my oassion and a career if I could actually sing, Musicv is also one of my true hobbies I love listening to my favourite bands and my favourite anime opening, endings or OSTs. Mazbe one day I decide to learn how to play guitar – my one and only attempt to enjoy music at its fullest – I have been playing wit that idea from time to time in the past but again I am too lazy to star anything new at this point.
11. Do you have any pets?
We have a dog bamed Ben he is 12 years old now ^^
12. What sports do you play/have you played?
I did swimming, soccer, netball and volleyball school during PE pnly which I kinda enjoyed. Indon’t play any particular sports or exercise
13. How tall are you?
Around 5’1 (156.5 cm) yes I am a smol bean too(>_<) – it is a still mystery to me how I could stop and did not grow at least that 0.5 cm
14. Favorite subject in school?
History, Art -bless my elemetary days the only days I had art classes in my life-, Literature and Social studies – and that mainly Psychology and Philosophy- if I did not decide I am not gonna listen to people problems as to avoid possibe depression-and trust me I was thinking about taking Psychology course a lot -even my dad told me I should- then I would. Also I loved talking about philosophers I think history gaves us a very inetresting ones but once again I did not see any point in talking Philosophy if I am not planning to become philospher myself ofc. I guess I only liked to learn about them – not to study and analyse them for the rest of my life.
15. Dream job?
My decision to take English language course was probably not the brightest idea but it was the only idea I had and could take at the time. I still have not freaking idea what to do with myself I am kind of still stuck at stalemate. The first step was to stalemate what I did not wanted to do, and I found I mostly crossed every option I considered – I have enough thought about acting as I used to do that as a kid and was quite good, but I have not further experience for more than 10 years. The one thing I always loved are books and I used to think I could live as a writer, but real-life situation is different isn’t it. Well, I have never thought about it much up until I discovered Japanese literature thanks to BSD and it I like a whole new world opened to me so now there is a tiny voice in my head telling me that that’s what I must do. I still have no idea what job I am gonna do once I have my degree but one thing is certain to me- one day I am gonna wake up from this slumber and write a book – not because I have to but because I want to.
If anyone should do this then: @pastel-sea-creature and @blackandwhitemusician Ily guys
