Marc x Reader (reader meeting Layla for the first time)

This is a little something I wrote bc I was bored and couldn’t get the idea out of my head. Basically reader finds out Marc had fallen love with someone (Layla) and reader really wants to meet her.

You always came over to Marc Spectors apartment for dinner. The two of you had become friends when he saved you from your father, who was an abusive scumbag. Since then Marc always invited you over, since he knew you were all alone in your own apartment and had no one else to be with. You had a good job though, despite being so young, so you were able to pay the rent. You already knew about his DID and how he had became an avatar for the Egyptian god Konshu.

One day you and Marc were having dinner together, when you noticed something. He almost seemed to be glowing.

“You seem different…” you comment, trying to sound as casual as possible.

“What do you mean?”

“You’re… glowing..”

Marc let out a slight laugh “glowing?”

“Yeah… like something good happened… wait..”

You were slowly piecing things together. Putting himself together nicely most nights, seeming to be in a better mood than usual, disappearing for longer periods of time then he usually would. You felt so stupid for not noticing it sooner.

“You’re in love.”

The words seemed to punch him, as he coughed and spluttered on water he had just been drinking. A pink tint had appeared on his cheeks.

“Excuse me?”

“Yeah, you are aren’t you? That’s why you always seem to dress nicely.”

“I always dress nicely!” He protested

“And you seem to be in a good mood.”

“Am I not aloud to be happy?”

You roll your eyes, “what are you lying for? I won’t laugh at you or anything. I just want to know one thing. Can I meet her?”

Marc after a hesitant silence, he answered “Not yet..”

“You are!!”

“I didn’t deny it. Just.. I don’t know. I still want to see her a few more times before I decide that whatever we have is legit. I don’t need you getting attached if it ends up not working out.”

You think about that for a second. “Ok then. I guess so… but you will introduce me won’t you? I really want to meet her.”

At this Marc nodded slowly, “Eventually…”

He still seemed flustered by the sudden attack, but went back to eating. You didn’t ask him about it again for a while.

One day, you noticed that he wasn’t home the usual time he came home when he would go out. You were getting worried. What happened?

Then he finally came home. You were about to ask him what happened. Then you saw a women behind you. She had tan skin and curly brown hair. You also noticed was extremely pretty. She gave you a kind smile when her eyes fell upon you.

“Y/n… I’d like you to meet my girlfriend. This is Layla.”

You smiled and shyly put your hand out, “h-hi…”

She took your hand and shook it. “So this is the amazing ‘Y/n’ that Marc told me about.”

You blush with slight embarrassment that she already knew who you were.

Marc laughed at your awkwardness. “Sorry Layla.. she’s a bit shy.”

You blush at his teasing. You manage a smile and a little more confidently say, “it’s nice to meet you.”
