TW (IMPLIED) CHARACTER DEATH
TW BLOOD
(not graphic blood but I'll still tag it just in case)
Tumblr media
@naffeclipse
Might want to turn up your brightness for this one fellas
This is Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Extra
(might end up being three parts actually lol)
(my script is like 3-4 pages long so....)
Long post under the cut
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had all and then most of you, some and now none of you.
Take me back to the night we met.
I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Haunted by the ghost of you
Oh, take me back to the night we met
- The night we met by Lord Hurdon
This comic stems from my need for them to have a satisfying conclusion OKAY
I mean it's bittersweet but at least they make up (to a degree)
Explanation below (kind of spoiling next part) (kindof almost not really idk):
After being dangerously injured by a cryptid, Vanessa managed to contact the one person she wished she could have said goodbye to the most.
I'll explain more about why Vanessa is the way she is in the next part but without spoiling, Vanessa has grown a little since the last time she saw y/n. That, in combination with the fact she's bleeding out and taking on the mentality "fuck it why not", has led her to this decision.
This comic kinda goes off of the idea she gets an inkling of doubt in her mind about whether y/n is still "alive".
The next part will go into it more but that doubt mixed with her resolve leads her to at least try.
She tries to call y/n. They don't answer. She sends a text and no longer has the strength to hold on to her phone.
I don't think she'll be completely resolved to Vampires having actual consciousness but in her last moments she's also just wishing for her friend back. Her human friend. The one who has been dead all this time. Vanessa has a history with seeing ghosts so
It's worth a try
I'll let you decide which phone of y/n's she tried to contact.
Assuming y/n unblocked her on their previous phone at some point
So yeah, Vanessa in this comic is going back and forth on whether this is y/n or not. She's bleeding out, so does it really matter?
It's almost selfish how much she wishes to be free of the ache in her chest. The fact in the end, she couldn't free her friend.
You'll see more of this in the next part. I don't want to spoil it too much.
She doesn't wish to carry this burden of failing her friend. She reaches for a conclusion. She wants this to end well. She wants her friend to be okay. She wants to believe everything has worked out. She wants everyone she cares about to be okay without her.
She'll throw out her wish to the world. And hopefully, it'll come true.
She'll throw out her wish to you.
It is you.
Right?
I may have spoiled the next part a little bit oopsies
I just want to explain why Vanessa's different y'know
And y/n has their own conflicting emotions.
Even when things are a semblance of normal, it can't be. They are a vampire now. It tears them up inside.
But. Vanessa lets them touch her.
They've been afraid to do that. For the entirety of this reunion cut short.
She lets them touch her.
And again, Vanessa wouldn't be this way if... it weren't for a few somebodies.
But that's enough spoiling the next part.

hi, i bought your comic "twigs" and loved it, i was wondering if you had any willingness to share the process of making it?
im an artist whos trying to start doing comics but i find the idea of starting a larger scale comic (such as kingfisher) wildly intimidating in terms of art direction. im trying to start small, such as a 30 page comic (ive done 5-10 page comics before) but i still find the art direction so scary lol
(Oh god this sent is was much longer ago than I thought I'm so sorry I took so long)
First off, thank you so much! I'm glad you liked Twigs, it's a project that still holds special place in my heart.
Okay, SO- the Twigs you know today was made originally for Shortbox, a digital comic fair for debuting short comics.
The concept of what would become Twigs was one developing in my brain for a while. Or, rather, the concept of a changeling trying to figure out where they belong after the person they were meant to replace comes home. At that point though, the changeling was just a cute fairy boy, because who wouldn’t want that. It was playing with the idea of choosing your own family and where you belong. But it was only a vague half idea, I didn’t really have a good sense of how long it could be or even what the point was. I remember musing that it was a story that I would probably never make. These are the only sketches I made for it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It wasn’t till I remembered another variant of the changeling, one where the creature was just an enchanted bale of hay or twigs and thrown into the fire once they’re discovered. I wondered what it was like to realize that you are in fact completely disposable, destined to fall apart and be forgotten. I thought this was far too depressing of a concept and that I would never use it.
If you’ve read the story, then you know that I changed my mind. The idea just stuck around in my brain too much, it gave such a bittersweetness to the story. It was then the story began to come together. I ended up writing the whole first draft of the outline in a phone-tapping frenzy at 1 am. It's almost stream of conscious prose, where I write out how I imagine the scene going. I'm a very visual thinker.
Tumblr media
You mostly asked this in terms of how I figured things out visually. Something that helped me out when I first started was making a pinterest board. It was very useful to put together a visual library to help gestate my ideas and vision for the story.
The inspiration of the witch was the folk tale character Baba Yaga, so that was a starting place for her and, since her home is an extension of her, figuring out the cottage. Down to earth, practical, with an agelessness to them. The Witch doesn't share her home with others so everything in it is suited to her. But it's also warm and cozy, since the cottage serves as a safe space for the characters to talk and rest. Getting reference photos helped a lot in imagining the home and making it feel lived-in.
You can also see me finding a couple of photos that helped my picture the character Tristan and his big feather cloak and other illustrations/photos reflect the world I wanted to create. A dark ancient setting with strangeness and sense of whimsy. Like a sad fairytale.
Tumblr media
Don't be afraid to look at movies, books, paintings, etc when finding visual inspiration! For another project, a colored comic based in the Salem Witch trials, I was taking screenshots from the movie VVitch to copy the palette lol. Be a scavenger! Do studies! Take pieces of everything around you to make something unique!
After that, I admit, a lot of it was a lot of sketching, Drawing out ideas, figuring out vibes, I took a pen to cheap sketchbook and just brainstormed. This is how I often bang out design- just keep drawing them until it feels right. It feels a bit like carving away at clay to find the statue underneath. I like designing with a pen because it keeps me from getting too precious with the drawings. These sketches are meant for exploring, not for drawing anything nice yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I know there was a lot more than this but I can't find those files now rip)
I also say- you don't have to figure everything out before you start drawing. It's great to get used to drawing your characters and maybe a blue layout of certain rooms, but it's not 100% needed.
I've seen comic artists obsess over perfecting character sheets and concept art and never actually starting the comic. I've never made a character sheet unless a job demanded I did.
I'm sure there is some pithy quote here I could use, but I find so much of comics to be improv based on what a scene needs lol. If the characters go to the other side of a room that I didn't design, I will probably just find a decent reference (thank you pinterest) sketch it out, and use that.
Tumblr media
This really is a great representation of my process 80% of the time.
Whew that ended up being long lol. Sorry about that. But I hope it was helpful at all!

I scrolled through your whole time capsule! so cool to see how your style has changed over the years. Are there any of your suuper early works that you still have particular fond memories of?
haha, it’s a ride, isn’t it?
i have positive memories for most of the pieces i added to the time capsule, but i’ll highlight a few standouts!
2005
this was art of my and my best friend’s (at the time) sonas. hers was a cat and mine was a tanuki, except i definitely thought tanukis were just brown raccoons and didn’t really know anything about them.
Tumblr media
2006
the frog prince. i was so incredibly proud of this drawing at the time but i didn’t even remember to reflect the moon properly lol
Tumblr media
2007
this is when i started making little fairy tail comics. at first they were all takes on existing fairytales and ended in weird jokes like this. this is the very first one i ever made and this was very much during the RAWR xD i’m so random phase of the internet, when jokes like this were considered funny.
Tumblr media
2008
here’s the phase where i drew a lot of bridges in an attempt to appease my art teachers and do Something Other Than Comics
Tumblr media
also i used art from this era as the art marina drew in monsterpop
Tumblr media
2009
ah 2009… the end of high school, beginning of college. i was trying to get more into digital art but this highlight isn’t about that, because here’s a page from a webcomic i was making that got a daily deviation lol. i was extremely proud of myself.
Tumblr media
2010
the start of me and my bittersweet short comics. this is before i realized i was queer so at this point it was all straight couples.
Tumblr media
2011
got into homestuck. realized i was queer. made fairyfail, which i posted on tumblr and it popped off (by my standards at the time). i was still very much in my bittersweet romance phase and this was before the “kill your gays” trope got the sort of widespread disdain it now receives (no one in fairyfail died but it does have a sad ending). i was still really confused about my identity and didn’t really know what to do with it or myself.
Tumblr media
2012
i made and posted “how to be a mermaid” and it got even more of a response than fairyfail. i also started making and posting monsterpop!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and oh boy i’m out of images! guess i’ll have to reblog this to add more. sorry for how long this post is gonna be lol

Bittersweet Submas ideas that I don't have the heart to make a full story/comic about because I love my happy endings.
(Except I was actually evil enough to make a short comic about it this time. Lol)
(Fair warning: There might be medical and time period inaccuracies.)
---
I remember someone writing a fic where it was revealed that Ingo and Akari did not travel too far in the past like we expected. At least far enough that kids like Rei, Sabi and Lian are still alive in the present time. So it's just a lovely renunion when they return to the present, meeting your friends who are now a 100 years old.
Wholesome stuff.
Now it's time for me to make it worse-
---
Ingo never travelled too far in the past, but he never returned to the present time like Akari did. So he spends the next 50-60 years in Hisui, making a family of his own, watching the transition from Hisui to Sinnoh, the evolution of technology, getting obsessed over this new invention called a "train". Lol
Despite his terrible beginning, he still found happiness in Hisui. But he always wondered what his past life was like before he got amnesia.
As time passes by, the more clear it is that he'll most likely never find answers about his past. But he made peace with that fact a very long time ago.
He was sick and dying. His old age was finally catching up to him. He also made peace with that. Much to the dismay of his family, he wanted to spend his last few months at home. Just a peaceful time in the countryside of Sinnoh with his family before his anticipated death. That's it.
Little did he know that his family had other plans for him.
---
His family found Emmet.
Whether they found him through many years of research or by accident, they are going drag their recently discovered uncle to Sinnoh if it's the last thing they'll do!
They will make dang sure that Ingo will spend his final days with his brother, his first family.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Ingo spends his last few months with the brother he remembered in his heart.
Emmet cherishes every moment with his brother before he loses him again.

Update: So I double and triple checked, but the label thing ain't working for me for whatever reason so I removed it. Readmore is there for a reason.
Update v2 tumblr fked me over. Posting again.
Smut but is teasingly short. Actually, this is a teaser. Not even an appetizer. A sample that you tried but can't get more of. Me being me I mixed it with a bit of angst. 'Cuz bittersweet is how I be. Could be read as a gun kink since you're literally at a gun point but don't care?🤔 My reckless nature is showing maybe. Lol. No actual sex or anything so relax. Like I said. Just a sample lolol.
Travis has a hard time(very hard) with a seducing, pliant captive who is not swayed by his 'bad cop' persona.
Taste
A glare that could fillet a person inside out. His hand over the gun. Just a show. A warning that couldn't fool someone like you. And even if it was more than just a warning...well. The man's worth dying for, isn't he?
His eyes snap to the leg that dared to take a step his way...then miss the deft hands removing the upper clothing, letting it flop down to the floor. When he looks up again, it's almost comical how his eyebrows shoot up and his lips part, dark orbs shaking and shifting all over the place, taking in the naked form without even thinking.
Carefully, two hands come up in surrendering gesture, half naked, unarmed, unguarded. Eyes with nothing but wanton desire, the haze so captivating.
With each step the hand over his gun tightens, the look hardens, the word at the tip of his tongue, but the slight purse of his lips gives away his upcoming outburst.
"Are you going to shoot me?"
Asked so gently, innocently, and he falters. No daring sarcasm, or sly jab. Not even a mockery of his authority. An acceptance. It scares him. God, it scares him.
"My heart is right here, couldn't miss it." A smile that only further grips his heart in vice. "I'd appreciate it if you don't ruin the face, though. I might not be a model, but a man like you could use something easy on the eyes..."
This must be a ploy. It has to be. A blatant honey trap. Well he was no fool, drooling over someone good-looking person like a hormonal teen.
In a second the gun was out of the holster, his steady hands digging the barrel right into the middle of the chest, over where a beating heart rests.
"Stand back." He spat, niggling spite bubbling in the pit of his gut like heated tar. He was not going to let this person play games with him. He was in charge here, he-
"At least I get to look at a handsome face as the last thing I see. Not a whole bad deal." Fond smile and a wink. He's close to malfunctioning again. "But I know what'll be even better. Officer, if you're going to shoot me down...won't you grant me my dying wish?"
Suspicion mixed with confusion swirl in those dark eyes, thinking.
It wasn't that he was actually going to fire, since his aim was simple intimidation. But...a dying wish? He could get something out of this. An information, maybe.
His eyes narrow. "Let's hear it." He raises a brow, the edge in the questioning glare ever-present.
What he hears next almost makes him do a double-take.
"Let me taste you."
His thought seizes. Either from shock or the blood vacating the Hq to take a trip to South. No, no. He mentally slaps himself. Enough playing-
"Please." Breathed out softly, quieter than before. "This is the last time I'll see you. At least let me have this." The lust is replaced with longing before he knows it. The sincere yearning in the voice, the eyes. It sets something in him ablaze. "Let me have you." He swallows. Twice. Both go down thick.
The hands that have been hovering up this whole time come down little by little, and as soon as he notices the barrel harshly pushes back into the chest, his lips curling in to show bared teeth. "Keep your hands up. Don't even think about it."
"You could cuff me."
He blinks. "What?"
Step by methodical step, you pull away, careful not to startle the man and giving him an ample amount of space. The hands stay up the whole time, just as he commanded. The gun follows the movement, its aim still trained on the heart.
Now apart, far more than an arm's length, and the steps slow down to a halt. The hands slowly, slowly reach forward, open palms, inside of the wrists facing upward, put together side by side, as if to request. "Cuff me to the bars, and feed me through them."
He cannot think straight after that sentence. The way he freezes only adds to the endearing panic in those eyes and the quickening pulse in his veins. You could almost taste his jumping heartbeat in that stiff neck of his. Shallow breathing is too audible now, no matter how much he tries to hide it with small huffs and shifting weights.
You breathe out once more, trying and nailing that last steel nail into the undeniably stuffy coffin that was his head right now. "Please officer Hackett..." his Adam's apple bops once more. "I'll be really, really good? I won't be able to do much behind the bars, anyway, well, other than making you feel good." His breath hitches. A cough. Bingo. Time to switch it up a bit.
A somber look settles in your eyes. His eyes shift at the change. "Or you could kill me right now. But you won't be so cruel, would you? Won't you at least grant my last wish?"
It's a possibility. One that you're willing to risk. If you had to continue to remain in that cell, unable to touch him, feel him, yet only a few feet away, and each time, in his presence, the rhythm in your heart crescendos between the ears, the deafening silence doing nothing to dampen its roar, his feature a mirage you could only seek out in your dreams? No.
No. If you died for this, so be it. You had to have him. Even for once.
Desperation bleeds through your lips, and you beg earnestly. "Please, please, just once." You see his resolve gets chipped away around the edge. The harsh glare is long gone, wavering with uncertainty. With consideration.
"It'll be our little secret."
The gun is finally, finally lowered at his feet. His lips move this way and that, mulling over what you've said to him. His contemplative eyes snap up to your own hopeful ones once or twice, each time quickly looking down, but with added pink to his ears.
After what felt like eons, he speaks up. "Stay right where you are. Do not move." The gun is returned to the holster, although his steps are still measured, careful. When he takes ahold of your awaiting wrists, his grip isn't tight like before. You could almost call it gentle, if not for the firmness that just seemed natural when it came to Sheriff Hackett.
He cuffs you for the short walk to the cell. Once inside, your shoulders slump. This must be it. He wasn't buying what you oh so hopelessly wished to sell him. All that show for nothing, although it was worth a shot. When he takes the cuffs away and locks the metal door, you think of just lying down on your sad cot and dreaming of him.
His tone sounds neutral, quiet. "Turn around." When you do as told, you spot hesitancy in his eyes, and your heart skips a beat. "Come over here." You notice he's standing at the far right side of the cell, away from the door. You step closer, his scent getting stronger, never have you cursed an inanimate object like you did then, at the damning bars that separated the two of you. His eyes bore into yours, the dim light making them seem like a pair of bottomless pits. He takes a breath, before he utters with strange mixture of strain and weight. "On your knees." At that sentence your knees wobble, your useless legs easily guiding you to the cold concrete floor. "Hands through the bars." Again you are meek as a mouse, mesmerized by his deft hands swiftly clicking the cuffs in place. Now you can't get away even if you wanted to, the bar between your arms will get in the way of the cuffs if you tried.
With him in his uniform, towering over your half-bare, kneeling and bound state, it must be doing things to him, because at this angle you can't help but notice the straining bulge.
Not that you had any intention to pull away.
"You said you wanted this." He swallows, obviously trying to play off his nervousness anyway possible. The blush says otherwise. Silly man. He tries a few times to get the words out. "Show me." He manages.
And who are you to disappoint? If this is the last chance...might as well give him one hell of a show.

Fanfic ask game, tagged by @abnerskrill !!
How many works do you have on AO3?
Okay so my Ao3 account is relatively new, I only got it in 2019 and started posting more regularly in 2020-21. I only have 12 on AO3 but I have written many more that I have not posted, and on my ancient, abandoned ff dot net account which will remain unnamed and unlinked I had posted around 30 I think? So many uncompleted and unposted or completed but not posted for one reason or another though lol.
What’s your total AO3 word count?
AO3 - 15,233. I tend to write short fics because any long writing I have the brain attention for ends up being my original fiction haha.
Because I was curious though I also did the math on my old ff dot net account and - 89,604. And I know there were 3 novel length fics I never got around to posting from back in the ff dot net days because I was going to post a chapter a week and then... forgot lol.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Oh boy. Um. So many. So the first book I started to write was a self-insert Scooby-Doo fanfic where I was a member of Mystery Inc. We were going to take on The Bubblegum Phantom, a phantom haunting a bubblegum factory. I wrote one and a half pages on yellow cardstock, and also drew a cover and back I was very proud of. I think it's still in a bin somewhere in my parent's house.
Okay fandoms I wrote in once I was older than um, like 8 xD
Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, How to Train Your Dragon, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Sherlock (so. much. sherlock.), Once Upon A Time, MCU Thor (2011) (so. much. loki. I still write thor and loki lol) The Hunger Games, MCU Avengers, RWBY, Disney's Tangled/Tangled: The Series/Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, Star Wars: Rebels, Marvel Comics Loki (Agent of Asgard), and Critical Role (C1/TLOVM mostly)
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Shot In The Dark - Star Wars: Rebels (185 kudos)
By Any Other Name - Tangled (149 kudos)
Scars of Various Kinds - Star Wars (Original Trilogy) (70 kudos)
Everything I Ever Thought I Knew - Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure (66 kudos) (unfinished and abandoned, I am sorry x’D)
More Than Anything - Critical Role (Campaign 1) (50 kudos)
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I wrote SO MUCH angsty Sherlock fic back in the day... most angsty would be the one where I killed off John Watson. I made all my friends cry. I was not sorry.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Most of what I write is short fic that tends to either be hurt/comfort, bittersweet or pure fluff so I’m finding this one harder to answer? I guess happiest ending would be the one where I did not kill off Ezra Bridger? XD Above mentioned Shot in the Dark.
Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I had a full out Hunger Games x every other fandom I was in at the time where I - you guessed it - took two characters from each fandom and threw them into the Hunger Games. I never did finish it but I think that definitely wins for craziest. XD also did a bit of Wholock and though that's not crazy by tumblr standards I got super into obsessively making it fit with the timelines XD
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
maybe yeah but I’m not brave enough to share it
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
yes!! at the very least to say thank you or to respond to something the commenter said.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
thankfully, no!
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
if I have, I sure don't know XD I don't think I'm popular enough lol
Have you ever had a fic translated?
no, but I would absolutely love it if anyone ever wanted to!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have!! Mainly in RP format with a friend and then I edited it into a postable fic. (with the support and permission of the friend of course!!) This was back in the Sherlock days though and I am not sharing it lol.
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
ngghh. Okay. So. I refuse to pick just one. Sorry. Deal with it.
Vax x Keyleth (Critical Role), Kanan x Hera (Star Wars: Rebels), and Rapunzel x Eugene (Tangled) are my top three.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
so many (cries) Probably the above mentioned Everything I Ever Thought I Knew which was supposed to make the Dark Prince twist at the end of RTA Season 2 make more sense to me. I really enjoyed the bits I wrote, and for a while I was writing and posting it every morning on the bus on my way to work... but that was the beginning of March 2020 so.... stuff happened and killed my motivation streak and was in a super bad headspace for a while, and I honestly don't think I will ever go back to it which makes me :( </3
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, word choice, characterization/characters, emotion. I was once told by someone who reads my writing that I have a good instinct for wording and flow, and that I tend towards layered, emotionally vivid lines, like my content is higher than average per word count, and that has lived rent free in my brain as being one of the best compliments I have ever gotten.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Length. I under-write when it comes to my original fiction and in revision and rewriting have to build things up to an actual novel length, and when it comes to fics and short stories I write in spurts and bits and pieces scattered every where that have to then be reassembled into something that's an actual readable length and not a paragraph of dialogue I wrote in the notes section of my phone because I was thinking about my blorbos. Also setting the scene/describing locations and action is also hard for me.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
If the characters speak multiple languages then it would be silly not to include it! I didn't use to have a preference whether it was in italics or not, but it was recently pointed out to me that can be rather "othering" and I think that's important to keep in mind.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Well Scooby-Doo, as mentioned above XD but the first fandom I posted for was How to Train Your Dragon. I had a full three ring binder of my How to Train Your Dragon sequel series timelines, plots, outlines, character profiles, etc after the first movie and before even the first HTTYD show came out, long before the second or third movie XD
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I... don't know?? I've been trying to think, but I don't think I can choose. I think they have all been what I needed in that moment of writing them. So I am going to be unhelpful and not answer this one lol.
tagging @simuran and anyone who wants to do this!!

👀👀 undertale comic 👀👀👀👀 speak more
OKAY SO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a HUGE fan of the narrator Chara theory, and I’m ALSO a fan of the theory that Chara’s not evil, and the way they act depends on the player’s influence.
EITHER WAY THO!!! I am gonna be doing a canon-divergent take on Undertale’s plot. Basically if Chara haunted Frisk throughout their journey in the Underground. It’s gonna be focused mainly on their budding friendship and Chara learning to be a better person and LOVE and FORGIVENESS and FRIENDSHIP and AHHHHH
Each part is gonna be relatively short, only around a few pages each. The first part I just sketched out after work an hour or two ago, it’s like 4 pages and nothing too crazy. I have everything written out so far, and I’m thinking of adding some animated gifs as well to add some ✨Spice to the comics, but I haven’t figured out how to do those yet LOL.
Also I have some minor character redesigns in mind, like making Undyne look a little more reminiscent of a betta fish, giving Chara overalls, ect.
I’ve never don’t a project quite like this before, so I’m really excited!!! Writing everything took me around a week I think? Like I said, each chapter is pretty short, but I’m really pleased with how it’s going so far. Idk how long it’ll take me to finish this, esp since the final few parts are gonna be significantly longer than the usual lengths, but I’m hyped !!! I’ve written two versions of the final chapter, but I’m leaning towards the bittersweet ending. GAH !!!

recently i reread a couple of those 80th anniversary special books dc put out a while back, namely the robin, green lantern, and green arrow books and while by an large they are sweet and contain mostly well written and interesting mini stories. the way they discuss the relevant female characters really got on my nerves in both minor and major ways.
when the robin 80th released, i remember being really thrilled that a prominent book honoring the legacy was finally acknowledging Stephanie as the fourth robin but it's extremely bittersweet considering the single story they give her in the special (which is not something I'm personally upset about considering her time as robin spanned only a couple of issues) is so absolutely shitty. it could have been an interesting extra robin story showing her a respect the originals did not, or some other interesting acknowledgement of her impact as a robin, but instead it's this terribly sexist story about her costumes not fitting with art depicting a 15 year old in revealing torn outfits and poses. and then her history blurb says nothing about her, instead focusing on time for the 2 sentences. I understand that her impact specifically as robin was largely defined by her impact on those characters (not even just in death, but this is an important factor not mentioned either) but it doesn't even mention that, just saying she was spoiler then robin when Tim was busy, then spoiler again.
the green arrow one is really minor for me because i actually really liked the short story im talking about but it's a biiiit frustrating to me that the one story that does acknowledge mia doesn't even.. have her in it. and it's a good story focused on why mia is so important! but it just sucks that after that she goes back in the abandoned toy box of comic book limbo.. i played the waiting game with josh williamson with bart im Not hopeful abt a mia return anytime soon.
the green lantern one is something that makes me, personally, really really mad lol. in one of kyles stories, a side character refers to jessica cruz in a list of earth's green lanterns by saying "and even a lady now, too" which is just. super frustrating. im not even a big GL lore guy. but In Kyles Run jennifer lynn hayden is a green lantern (not even ambiguous like her father, a ring-carrying official space cop on earth). jennie wasn't even still in limbo at this point. the story directly references the evens of kyles run. jessica was not the first human woman to be a gl. jennies not even in the extended GL cast pages.. i don't even think they mention her in alans description

Finished Aus
Kinda rare since most got dropped or they are on hiatus lol
Echotale- a Frans AU where Gaster!Sans and an older Frisk have to fix the underground that got REALLY messed up. The ending is a little bittersweet but I love it so much aa
Caretaker of the ruins- When the protagonist is someone you are rooting to lose, the ending is something to look up for. And oh boy, it was worth it💕
Inktale- it's the backstory of Ink, one of the most famous Sans. Idk if it's fair to put it on this list, but yeah.
Dreamtale- the backstory of Dream and Nightmare :) kinda sad tho ngl :(
UT mob- did I already said this is one of my fav aus? No? WELL THIS IS SO GOOD. I love this type of stories. So I'm so sad it ended, but it's hella cute 💕💕💕
Aftertale- This AU happens after Sans kills frisk and when they reset, he is transported to the Game menu, finding mah boi Geno!Sans. I LOVE THE ENDING aaaa
Playbacktale- Papyrus wants to help his flowery friend get a soul. But Flowey is greedy and fucked up real hard. It's more of a backstory than a completed au but I like that is finished.
Dogs of future past- After a post pacifist route, Frisk, Flowey and a part of an amalgamation wants to save someone who was left behind. The story is cute and the ending is nice. READ IT
Underline- it's an incredible collection of headcanons to the game of Undertale. It's finished and it's honestly so good :D
Sans the Seraphim- after Sans remembered a genocide route, they instantly went to the ruins and killed Frisk after they got out. He took the souls and freed the underground but he changed deeply. It's actually such an interesting AU! The ending was kinda bittersweet but I had so much fun!
Paper Trail- It's a Deltarune AU made before chapter 2 came out. The story is nice, the characters are well written and I really liked the ending, but for some reason, a bunch of people didn't like it :/ well whatever, it's a nice read so you should go for it :)
Underbrushed- a mix between Tangled and Undertale. It's a cute and weird AU with a nice ending :D
Predatortale- In this horror AU, Frisk falls to an underground where everyone is hungry as hell. So no matter where they go, they go running for their life. Its short but its got an ending. So yeah, nice 👍
Drunk!Chara- Chara is regretful, Chara is in love, Chara is drunk. Prepare yourself to wholesome and sometimes bittersweet AU. I felt the ending kinda rushed a bit, but I liked the final scene 👉👈
Bromalgamate- Papyrus got hurt, and Sans in desperation, used DT on him and became an amalgamate with his brother. The backstory is finished so yeah, have fun :)
Darker yet darker- It's kinda of a backstory to how Sand and Papyrus where born and fuck u gaster :/. The ending is really nice tho 💕
Wondertale- it's a mix between Undertale and Alice in wonderland :) I admit I wasn't really expecting much because the writing it's not THAT good, but I actually ended enjoying it more than I expected.
Tidetale- After 100 pacifist routes, Sans was really tired, so to cheer his brother up, Papyrus creates a new mechanical brother to Sans :D
Paper Crane- the backstory of mah boy Paper Crane. It's so goodijtdjhdtuxkhctuuulhfkh💕💕
Chance!tale- it's a AU about Ace and their tragic Au :)
Flowey is not a good life coach- flowey breaking mentally and physically his best friend out of boredom? Daaaaamn :0
Storyswap color- an AU that got another take on storyshift + underswap
Don't have to hide- just short and sweet comic for your reading pleasure :)
Heavenfell - frisk ends up on an edgy underground and decides that these violent monsters are worth saving
Handplate - A take about the creation of Sans and Papyrus and how they came to be. Also gaster is a bitch >:0
Alive- BANGER of an au. DELICIOUS. INCREDIBLE. IM ALIVE IM ALIVE IM ALIVE MY SOIL ROARS FOR THIS!!

Ao3 Tag Game
T1I was tagged by @amethystinawrites! Thank you, friend :D
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently 161 total, 62 of which are locked (so you only see 99 if you’re not logged in)
2. What is your total AO3 word count?
As of Oct 25, 2021 I have 898,020 words posted on Ao3.
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
108 works for RTAH RPF, my old main fandom
9 for Guardian (镇魂) which is my current fandom, so expect that number to go up
7 for MCU (including a Jurassic World crossover)
6 for Critical Role (campaign 1 and 2)
6 for Yu-Gi-Oh! (tho most of them are archived from my FFnet days)
5 Dragon Age: Inquisition and 3 Dragon Age II fics
4 for Lazer Team (a RT movie)
4 in Disney’s Descendants (I really should finish the Juma blind date fic)
2 in Harry Potter (both archived from FFnet, a drabble collection + a YGO! crossover)
1 in Assassin’s Creed (the only one I was proud enough to crosspost from FFnet to Ao3 when I made my account, the other archiving happened later :’D)
1 for Leverage (a small OT3 thingie)
1 for Sense8
1 unfinished WIP for The Untamed, which really, I need to get back to
1 Teen Wolf one (never watched the show but read all the fic lol)
1 in Stargate SG-1 (which is a Critical Role crossover, not a pure one)
a very short and unfinished Naruto fic
also a handful of DnD ficlets and 2 stories set in Vigilante2890, a sci-fi comic that doesn’t have a fandom tag (yet) so it’s under Original Work in the drop down menu
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Partners in Crime
Blindfold
The Dwight Timing
Take No Prisoners (Take No Shit)
Just Let Me Know If You Want It (It’s Strictly Physical)
The first 4 are all from RTAH days and contain Mr. Persona Non Grata so I hope I’ll get popular work in other fandoms to dethrone them some day 😅 I’m still proud of my writing - but also Prisoner is my oldest and first in that fandom and doesn’t stand up to my current level of quality/scrutiny RIP but it was also the first time I a) hit 30k in a fic and b) finished a chaptered WIP
Strictly Physical, on the other hand, holds up well enough and honestly kinda sad I didn’t stick around DAII/Fenders fandom for longer because those two were one hell of a ship :D
5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Yes! For one, getting comments leaves me super excited and I want to give that feeling back. For another, I love engaging with readers/my stories/others’ stories, so I also appreciate it when an author replies to my comments, thus I do it, too.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Ohhh hm. I tend to go for happy or at least hopeful endings, so let me think.
Eternal Eclipse ends on something of a bittersweet note - it’s hopeful, but the lovers aren’t reunited, and grievances are aired but not necessarily comforted? I tried for soft (I really wanted a happy ending) but decided I should do that in a sequel, which I’m now not gonna write, so :’) we’re stuck with this ending I guess.
And Blood Alone Remains has a different ending for each character because I was playing with the characters all being at a different point in their arcs. So the last scene ends with someone just starting their second act, and another character being thrown in danger, while the main character’s story is more or less wrapped up, but her love interest’s is at a low point...? (I really really loved this concept ngl)
7. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve ever written?
Yes! “Craziest” is probably the very short MCU/RTAH thing I did, but the one I’m most proud of is definitely the SG-1/Critical Role fic (Pike and Grog meeting the SG-1 team!)
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I tend to receive more generalized anon hate on tumblr, but I’ve gotten a couple questionable comments before. Which I only recall vaguely because I went ahead and pretty much deleted immediately, so I can’t even say what they were about in hindsight. So I guess deleting them worked to delete them from my brain? :’)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yep! All kinds, kinky shit, whatever I’m in the mood for or is fascinating to me. I’m super into a/b/o and d/s stuff, in particular. I’ve got a heat!fic I’m nearly done with that’ll go up soon, and a roleplay cop/arrested scene that’s about halfway done. Kink negotiations are also always fun ngl
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I’m aware of! But I’ve had a fic “inspire” another very closely before where in hindsight, I kinda wish I’d reacted more strongly, but I didn’t want to offend, and there were differences, it wasn’t straight up plagiarism? Idk that’s always a hard case in fandom.
11. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! With the lovely @itskaysno <3 And I’m pretty much always down for collabs! ...if I have the time lol. There’s been a couple writers I was planning to work together with, but then we moved on to different fandoms or life didn’t sync up for long enough to work it out sadly </3
12. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Right now, I’m stuck in Weilan hell and not leaving, because it’s cozy and warm down here, okay.
13. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
That would be Yu-Gi-Oh! My very first fics were in German on animexx way back when. I started in YGO! roleplay forums, and then wanted a story to continue where my RP partner dropped out, so I rewrote the whole thing
14. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I’m really proud of how Dark Stars, Burning Hearts turned out ngl
and it’s probably cheating if it’s a WIP, but I have great hopes for the Arranged Marriage AU and I’m living for the bits I’ve already written 👀 this is how the war is won is also up there, and I’m looking forward to finishing it (hopefully soon) so I can share!
*takes a deep breath* *rubs hands* Alright! Tagging @itskaysno @ganglylimbs @shadeofazmeinya @sorcererinslytherin @sailorbryant @kahnah23 @midwintersong @fornhaus @elenothar @sasamelons @bird-armadda @buriedbybooks @uy8hg @ishipallthings and anyone else who wants to play!

Fic Writer Review -tag game
Thank you @recurring-polynya for tagging me! I wish I could say I’m a Pisces so I love talking about myself, but I think that’s just a core personality trait at this point so! Let’s go!
1. How many fics on AO3?
17 Bleach fics (but many of them are short enough to be drabbles), 1 The Mandalorian fic, and 1 DC Comics fic under my pseud that I created specifically for Jason Todd. zabiume is where I fawn over Orihime and lazarus is where I fawn over Jason -- hence the distinction.
2. Total AO3 word count?
219,317 over two years but there are some fics I wrote that are only on Tumblr so maybe I’d add a couple 100-500 words to that? It did say AO3 word count, though, so maybe not.
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
I used to write for the TV shows Psych and Supernatural when I was really little but I never posted it anywhere lol. I’d say the fandoms I wrote the most for were Bleach and the 80s Batfamily, which was my favorite Batfamily era and probably still is. I don’t write fic as much as I read fic, so there are some fandoms I really, really love but never actually wrote for like the Spiderverse fandom, or the Death Note fandom (lol, don’t judge me). I probably write for Bleach the most.
4. Top Five by Kudos?
six hearts beat as one (164)
Make My Wish Come True (120)
The Epic Highs and Lows of Ghost-Hunting (102)
with you, anything is pawsible (100)
Tell You My Sins (97)
I’ve got a higher kudos count on my old Batfamily account I think, but I will not plug that here because I’m embarrassed and want to leave it in the paaaast.
5. Do you respond to comments, why/why not?
Absolutely! I feel grateful when people take the time out to leave a comment so I try my best to reply to all of them. Sometimes people might be binge-reading my longer fanfics and commenting on every single chapter (which is fun) but I don’t know if I’m supposed to reply to all of them so I might have just replied to the earliest/latest one and thanked them for all of it. Sometimes I get comments that are only emojis/in languages I don’t speak, and I don’t know what the proper etiquette is to reply to those but trust me I saw them and they made me vvv warm :’) I never reply on ff.net because I have no idea how that website works lmao but I get a lot more reviews there than I do on AO3 so it’s always exciting to post there even though the formatting makes me cry.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I don’t write a lot of fics with angsty endings as much as I do with angsty beginnings and middles, but the ending for Tell You My Sins is something I still get a few comments about saying “Oh my god!! How could you leave it there!!! Why do you hate me!!!” but I’d say that was more of a bittersweet, yearning ending than an angsty one, but who knows!
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I don’t write crossovers, but I have a lot of them in my head; my most buckwild one is probably Mom!Orihime Inoue/Mom!Talia Al Ghul but I’m not going to go into it unless someone actually wants to hear it sfjfjjf
8. Have you received hate on a fic?
Once? It wasn’t hate, per se, it was just the condescending brand of “oh I like your writing, but I’d like it better if you wrote [ship name] instead” which is...a bit annoying but I generally get a lot of kind comments from people I know here/on ff.net/on AO3 so I can’t complain.
9. Do you write smut?
In theory
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
11. Ever had a fic translated?
Someone asked if they could translate my fic and post it on a Brazillian fanfic website, but I kind of hesitated because I had to make an account there and I didn’t want to make an account I don’t actually use, so I refused :/ We’re still talking about having it up on AO3, though, so you never know!
12. Ever co-written a fic before?
I’m very shy/self-indulgent so I usually do everything myself (both writing and editing). The most I’ve collaborated with people is when they send me prompts or I send them prompts. Hehe.
13. All-time favourite ship?
IchiHime, if we’re talking romantic, but if platonic relationships count then nothing will ever beat Bruce Wayne & Jason Todd for me!
14. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
Technically, Epic Highs and Lows is a WIP, but it’s not a WIP I want to finish, so no? I’ve made my peace with giving up on that one but I still get a few comments every now and then asking for an update (I’m sorry).
15. What are your writing strengths?
I think I’m good at describing feelings, and how much characters care about each other. I’ve been told I’m good at writing the relationships between characters, too, but if I had to pinpoint one strength I’d say it’s probably...my characterization? Characterization is pretty subjective but I’d say I like that I write characters exactly the way I see them. Sometimes I might write a light-hearted fic and go, “This could have been an excellent premise for a filler episode if Studio Pierrot weren’t absolute cowards” but I think that’s a bit egotistical.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I’m not very good at writing Plot/World-building, and my best fics are generally born from a short-term, situational idea, rather than a long-term fic that spans over chapters and chapters or across series. I don’t have a distinct writing style, which is something that bothers me sometimes, because I feel like I don’t have any Trademarks(tm) that would make a reader go, “Oh, yeah, that’s a Zabiume fic.” I feel like that makes my writing forgettable idk. I get very excited about sharing my fics with my readers so I hurry on the editing sometimes and might end up overlooking a tiny spelling error here and there, but that is just because I am excited to share my things with you guys okay!!! I’m a Golden Retriever.
17. What are your thoughts of writing dialogue in other languages?
Hmm, this is an interesting one. Since I write a lot of IchiHime fics, I feel like the honorifics make a lot of difference in their relationship i.e the tenderness that comes from calling someone by their last name, especially if you’re shy. I mean, the whole reason Ichigo calling Orihime by her first name in the epilogue is so special is because of how long it took for them to get there. I’m also fond of how softly Masakazu Morita says “Inoue” so now I can’t unhear it when I read the manga/write fic lolol. I’m Asian (and obviously I don’t want to generalize because there are. many countries in Asia) but my culture has a few similarities with the Japanese culture and some of my aunts call their husbands by their last names+honorific sometimes after marriage as a joke/term of endearment so that’s why I think I use the honorific sometimes, but mostly I don’t. Depends on the context. I’m not from Japan, but I’m not from America either, so I try to avoid “culturizing” my fic too much and keep it like,,,as universal as possible but I do try to do my research to the best of my abilities and not offend anyone. If I mess up somewhere, I’d love for people to correct me/teach me, though. Mostly I just write in English.
18. First fandom you wrote for?
I wrote Psych fanfic on MS Word and made my sister read it when I was like, ten I think. Mostly I just wrote fic in my head and never posted it anywhere because I’m horribly shy.
19. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
My favorite fic I’ve written ever is my Batman fanfic, All the Memories Left By the Day, but my favorite fic I’ve written for Bleach would probably be my five lifetimes, one love series because I’m having a lot of fun writing it and roll back, like press and rewind, which is a fanfic where Ichigo Gets Pegged by Orihime.
Tagging: @ulquiorracifer, but no pressure! If any of my followers want to do this, you can just say I tagged you :)

Puzzleship JP & KR Fancomic Recommendation List
UPDATE (19-12-2020): Added two more artists and two more titles on the Japanese lists!
I don’t consider myself as someone very tidy and organized, but I just like making lists of the things I love, somehow. Hence this post. I haven’t been in the fandom for long but I thought I’d share some of my favorites primarily from two sites: pixiv and postype. Most of the postype ones are behind paywall, and I will mark them differently.
Some of my favorites come from the same artists, so I’ll also link their pixiv profile on top of my favorite work of them.
(I actually bookmarked a lot and picking them isn’t an easy task, so I will update this step by step. If you see only a link of an artist, that’s the reason, but I can guarantee you will love their works! Feel free to recommend me yours through reblogs or DM as well!)
Japanese
Artist: CYHGM
She is a Chinese and is more active on Weibo (she posted tons of puzzleship there, but my Mandarin is beyond rusty so I could only cry in despair lmao), but she has two fancomics that I absolutely adore of. Those two mentioned fancomics are:
The Past and The Future. You can check my translation for this one here. It tells about Atem who gets transported to 3000 years later before his coronation, and that’s where he met post-canon!Yugi. Just... everything about this comic is so wonderful. I teared up at the last page, not gonna lie ;_;
The Pharaoh and The Fairy: An Ancient Egypt-slash-fantasy AU featuring the S0/TOEI casts. The fairy Yugi was saved by Atem, and it’s an obligatory for fairies to grant their savior’s wishes. However, Atem doesn’t exactly have something he wants of, and this confuses Yugi on how he should repay him back. Pure undiluted sugar, and fairy!Yugi is just so cute.
Artist: Fushitas
Arguably one of the most popular Puzzleship fanartists in the JP fandom (look at their number of followers on Twitter, man), but maybe it’s also due to the fact they were in AoT fandom too. They’re mostly active on Twitter, and if you also watch Zexal, they draw tons of Yuma-centric pairings too. They have released lots of books, and their prices on the reseller sites are... well, let’s just say, unbelievable. Just to show how famous they are.
From everlasting to everlasting: Set after DSOD. A mysterious figure appears in front of Atem, claiming to be his queen. Everyone in the after life somehow acknowledges this person, which makes him even more confused because he’s the only one unaware of this. On the living realm, Yugi who is on the way to his home got hit by a truck (isekai much??) and when he woke up, he suddenly plays the role of Atem’s queen. I’ve always adored Fushitas’ drawing, and this is no exception. The story is pretty simple, but is still good! The ending of this comic is everything I’ve always wanted from the canon lol.
The King’s Guest: Ancient Egypt AU. The councils are starting to get worried because Atem shows no interest in marrying someone, so Shimon opens up a “chance” sort of for civilians to become “someone for the Pharaoh to talk with”. The civilian Yugi takes this chance right off the bat, and stuff happens? This one is just so sweet and the misunderstanding later in the story kinda cracks me up. I really love the way they build the two’s chemistry in here.
Artist: usi
They only draw two puzzleship fancomics, but both are so good and explores the themes I’ve loved from the pairing.
The Lotus’ Devil: Set post-canon with a flashback. It tells about Yugi’s regret in the past where he wanted to show Atem a small pool supposed to be full of lotus flower only to arrive seeing them not blooming. Fast forward to the post-canon, he found out that there’s actually a monster residing on that pool. I really, really loved the ending scene of this one.
Who’s The Detestable, Fortunate Guy Here: I think this is set sometime in the canon story, although the exact timing is unclear. It’s a short comic of Yugi asking Atem to pretend to be his date and go on a “dating practice”. A very pleasant hurt-and-comfort kind of story, and who doesn’t love a story of them dating anyways? :”D
Artist: Houzuki Anzu
She doesn’t draw much YGO, but she has some Arc-V and 5D’s fanarts too if you watch the series!
Hourglass: Sets after the Memory World arc. Yugi keeps hearing a strange sound inside his mind, and he finds out there’s a huge hourglass standing there, guarded by the will of Millenium Puzzle. Apparently, the hourglass is linked to Atem’s remaining time in the living realm? Anyways, the ending of this comic might look like a cliffhanger, but I personally think it isn’t. I love the theme this comic picks to explore and the way it is presented.
Present: Same setting with Hourglass, but this one focuses more on Atem sorting out his feelings about the Ceremonial Duel and what he has learned from Yugi in general. It’s a very nice extra detail that the canon slightly lacks of, and I just love... bittersweet stuff in general haha.
Artist: Chiriko
Are you the type who wants puzzleship to be full of happiness and fluff and nothing else? Well, she has a number of comics to fill that need! I actually love all of her works, but if I have to pick, these two are my favorite:
...Don’t Ever Leave Me Again: A short story about Yugi having a nightmare of where he was stuck in the fire accident at Otogi’s store. Well... this isn’t a fluff sort of, but it’s... a happy ending still? /shot
[Untitled]: A dialogue-less comic, but this is the sort of post-canon what-if that I really, really like. Atem stroking Yugi’s face while sleeping is just... so soft man....
Artist: Komori Nea
Their art style was one of those that’s very noticeable and has a certain charm on it. They are pretty active on Twitter, and even draws puzzle comics once in a while that haven’t been uploaded to pixiv (which is why I recommend you to check their twitter gallery too haha)
The Soul Stays Awake: Post!DSOD. Atem comes back from afterlife in hoping that Yugi would be as happy as he is, but months after, Atem’s existence still hasn’t been registered on Yugi’s life just yet. Another post!DSOD take that I like which involves the fear of another farewell and uncertainty, but this is a good hurt-and-comfort. I swear, it’ll hurt you just... for a while. :”)
The Attack’s Aim: Set during the canon series. A short comic mostly portraying Yugi’s hidden strength but also the tenacity of duelist that is not only targeted toward the opponent, but also to Atem, without the person actually noticing it. The last page of this one is so... soft and gentle I had to put it into this list.
Artist: caf
Often draw with S0/TOEI style, characters and characterization in mind. Their coloring in illustrations is so soft, plus artists who specialize in S0/TOEI style can’t be found so easily. Their comic style is not a manga-like one and they write the dialogues with handwriting, but if you can read hiragana and write and understand how kanji works (so you can write it on translation machine), their comics are easy to understand!
magenta: S0/TOEI AU where Yugi and Atem are two separate person. A short comic of Yugi lying under the rain as Atem searches for his whereabouts. I really love the way they portray the rain and the atmosphere surrounding the scene. Or maybe I’m just biased with rains in general, ahahaha.
Yuugi and Mao’s Stay Home: Same AU as above. Our two boys has to face the same shit we do IRL in this comic, which is quarantine. Atem offers to cook something for Yugi since he can’t eat outside. You love seeing Yugi eating stuff? This is a perfect comic for y’all.
Artist: Kkyut
Artist: Kayu(i)
Others:
Gemini: As Atem comes back to the living world, Yugi faces the dilemma of having being separated by “his other self” physically and mentally. A short comic, but the lines the artist used are so... beautiful. Like, the way they describe Yugi’s loneliness?? Just hits the park so much.
Until The Hourglass Runs Out: Set after the Memory World Arc. As their farewell day goes closer, Yugi decides to give Atem a full control of his body at school so he could spend his time with Jounouchi and the gang more. However, things don’t go as smooth as Yugi had expected. If you like that little teeny weeny pain before the Ceremonial Duel, this comic perfectly suits the taste.
see you sometime: Post-canon. Mahaad offers Atem a chance to meet Yugi in the living realm one more time, but with several conditions. Firstly, he could only stay for a day at maximum. Secondly, Yugi won’t be able to remember who he spent his time with after Atem hangs out with him. Thirdly, Yugi will not be able to “recognize” this Atem; he will only be registered in Yugi’s mind as a new classmate. A bittersweet comic in whole, but seeing the two having fun like a normal teenager would just makes me grin.
After The Rain: A dialogue-less comic, so everyone would be able to read this right away. A short comic of the two, but still very cute and wholesome!
The Tropics of Horus: Post!DSOD, Atem has to chase Kisara who lingers around Kaiba’s soul and he needs Yugi’s help to bring Kisara back to afterlife, but he has his own ulterior motive. This manga is so dialogue-heavy and might be hard to dissect especially if you don’t understand JP grammar and context, but the time spent trying to understand the meaning behind every words will be worth it. That much I guarantee. Just... everything about this comic, and how Atem’s “ulterior motive” connects to our boys’ adventure in canon series are so well planned. You can also purchase the R18 version in a form of the book here (toranoana)
Christmas Day: S0/TOEI puzzleship hint (dark puzzle???). There’s something in store for Yugi in Christmas, but this one might surprise Yugi a lot. It’s not that the prompt of “Atem gets separated from Yugi temporarily” is uncommon, but it is still a sweet one and makes you smile throughout the pages.
Korean
All titles mentioned here are not free unless mentioned otherwise. Also I don’t understand Korean except being able to read Yugi and Atem’s name, so my story interpretation might be wrong. If you understand Korean, I’d really love for you input! ;_;
You can check out on how to buy comics from postype here
Yugi’s 2020 Birthday Anthology: Rain and After End
This is an anthology consisting of four titles, but they share the same (or similar) setting where Atem is reincarnated, but he doesn’t remember his past (or has not yet, depending on how the story portrays it). Some are age-gap (adult!Yugi and high school student!Atem), so you might want to consider that if it’s not your cup of tea.
To Like Someone is to...: Age-gap setting. Mostly tells about how Yugi deals with his feeling as the reincarnated Atem in front of him turns out to have a feeling on him. I like how the story’s conclusion is that Yugi will sort it out slowly while also teasing Atem how he’s “too early” to date Yugi w.
In A Circle: A story about how the two met through an online chess game. Iirc Yugi works in a game company and Atem is sort of a famous e-sports player in this setting. There’s a lot of dialogue in this one and the app sometimes can’t process them very well, but I liked what I can understand from it! not very convincing is it haha i’m sorry i shouldn’t have done this
Familiarity: Age-gap setting, where Yugi becomes Atem’s caretaker. The comic mostly focuses on how Atem notices how kind (or too kind) Yugi is sometimes, but there are times where he feels distant. The plot where Atem gets into a fight with the other kid in his school because the kid mocks Yugi, and how Yugi just... accepts it even when Atem doesn’t want to say his reason of punching the kid is just.... god... I love this kind of age-gap setting like this I guess ;_;
Touchdown: Age-gap setting, but Atem is older in here (university student). The two goes to Atem’s university festival and they think about their own feeling when they got separated. On their way to drop Atem off, he confesses to Yugi, but Yugi is still unsure on his overlapping feeling between the reincarnated Atem and the Atem he knows. Make sure you play Motohiro Hata’s Rain and Aimer’s After Rain during the car scene to make the “rain” mood works even better :”)
Others:
Try For Point: A continuation of Touchdown, where Atem (like, the one from the past) visits Yugi in his dream and helps Yugi in sorting out is his feeling toward his reincarnated self. Atem’s advice is so sweet and there’s one certain line from this comic that I remember very deeply - there’s a part where he says, “If you don’t pull out the card, you won’t know what card it is, right?” to help Yugi clearing out his hesitancy ;w; at this point, I curse myself for not being able to understand Korean

My personal DA4 wishlist + thoughts
I’ve been teasing this post for a couple of weeks over at Twitter, i’m the worst! But anyway, since game journalism has decided to confirm, once again, that the next Dragon Age game will be set in Tevinter like that’s breaking news, now’s as good a time as ever to write all this down.
Locations: Tevinter, clearly. It’s been pretty much a given since the end of Trespasser in 2015, with that scene where the Inquisitor stabs a map on a table directly on Tevinter as they promise to go after Solas to stop him. But also concept art and several stories from Tevinter Nights heavily imply Antiva, Nevarra, the Anderfells, and maybe Rivain. For those of you who don’t know your Thedosian Geography 101, that’s basically Northern Thedas. And it makes sense, since so far for three games straight we’ve been first stuck in Ferelden, then the coast of the Free Marches, and later the rest of Southern Thedas. We’ve never been North, only heard of it. So in DA4 i’m sure we will finally be able to visit.
Characters: If we’re going to Tevinter, we must meet Dorian again, maybe meet Maevaris Tilani as well (previously only seen in comics), judging from the latest comics series, i’m hoping for Fenris too. And going by the latest teaser trailer, we might see Varric again. As for characters that so far we have no news of, i’d like to see Cole, the Iron Bull, and if by any chance BioWare feels like blessing us with a Hawke/Fenris reunion i might just die happy.  I’d also very much like to see the Inquisitor, but more on that later.
Companions: considering concept art and the latest teaser trailer, plus Tevinter Nights stories and new characters, we have an interesting repertoire of new potential companions. A Tevinter mage, an ancient elf (like a temple guardian) or a dalish elf (like Strife), a Nevarran mortalitasi or spirit, Antivan Crows, Lords of Fortune (new faction, kind of like treasure hunters), Qunari lady, maybe an alchemist or shapeshifter, Grey Wardens (possibly a dwarf), a liberated or escaped slave, a Siccari (Tevinter spies/assassins)..even past agents of the Inquisition could return.
Plot: We know Solas wants to take down the Veil. We know there’s two archdemons left, and Grey Wardens are regaining some spotlight in concept art lately. We might have to fight on multiple fronts simultaneously and be strategic about it. Solas might even unleash a double Blight just to keep us distracted while he focus on his own goal, who knows. But many other things are happenig in the margins and all over the place. The Qunari Antaam is having a crisis with some of its members supposedly going rogue, the order they’re so proud of is breaking up, and the whole of Northern Thedas is facing an imminent threat of invasion. Tevinter is still dealing with remnants of the Venatori and might soon be dealing with a slaves rebellion and/or a political and social reform (Magisters Dorian and Maeveris have been working wirh the Lucerni, a group aiming to restore and redeem Tevinter). The Antivan Crows -the de facto rulers of Antiva - may be dealing with a succession crisis, as their First Talon, a powerful feared and respected but old lady, might not be around for much longer and seems her chosen heir has died before his time. Meanwhile in the Anderfells nobody’s heard anything from the Grey Wardens’ HQ at Weisshaupt since the end of Inquisition, and as told in the novel Last Flight, the sudden reappearance of griffons may have had something to do with that radio silence. So you see, get ready for another +100 hours long game because BW has plenty of stuff to keep us busy with. But in short, DA4 seems will be about primarily searching, finding, and dealing with Solas. Regardless of what you decided at the Exalted Council in Trespasser, the Inquisition or what’s left of it is most likely the group orchestrating that mission. As it was so clearly stated then, they need new people Solas doesn’t know so he can’t foresee their actions, so it’s possible the DA4 protagonist is a new agent or a third party hired to do what the Inner circle can’t due to their familiarity with Solas in the past. But at the same time -and this is assuming we get to find Solas in this game - i definitely think the Inquisitor could easily show up again. No, losing an arm doens’t mean they’ve retired forever, prosthetics do exist in Thedas, a world where you can combine dwarven craftmanship with enchantments, seriously, i don’t ever want to hear “but they lost an arm” ever again as an excuse to write them out. And no, marrying Cullen or joining the Red Jennys is no impediment to join the “Stop Solas” Squad; the end of Trespasser means something, mainly that this is personal. Be it they loved them as lovers, as friends or ended up hating his guts for using and betraying them, the Inquisitor’s relationship with Solas makes this very personal, and so having any other character do that face off would cheapen all of it, all that bittersweet angsty development and expectations of either revenge or closure. That moment should happen between those two. It adds a ton of motivation due to their past historyas well, something a new protagonist would lack entirely.  My personal best hope is for a sort of dual protagonist thing, say we play new protagonist for most of the game but a selected missions or scenes where we play as the Inquisitor once again and take over for key and heart-wrenching dialogue options. My second best hope is for the Inquisitor to show up as playable for the moment we catch up with Solas. My third and final best hope is for the inquisitor to be a sort of advisor but more like new protagonist’s boss/employer to whom they report back to and get new missions from. The Inquisitor can be stuck in meetings for the most part of it, i just want to know they’re there, behind a door, super busy but there. A cameo like Hawke’s in Inquisition is the bare miminum i can take, anyhting less than that like a mention in a sidequest description or a footnote in a codex entry would be a total  injustice.
Romances: I’m open for pretty much anything, as any good BW fan would be. But i’d like romances to feel more alive in the sense that they don’t abruptly get stuck once you exhaust all related quests and dialogue options. As much as my Adaar liked that spank from the Iron Bull, that it was the only thing they could share after their romance was locked was a bit..meh. I liked Dorian’s tho, because his gave one the option to talk a bit, go for a walk, gossip, and sure, it all happened off-screen, and there were limited possibilities, but it was nice and made their relationship feel a bit more real, like they had more to it than kissing and stuff. It happens in most games, once you secure a romanceable companion suddenly you run out of things to do and share with them, and you get stuck with the same 3 lines of dialogue over and over again. There should be a way of solving that.
Side quests: i’m ok with fetch quests initially as it is a good way of forcing the player to go out and explore huge maps, but i’d also like the fetching to have some meaning other than checking things off a list. I want to explore many ruins, and -can’t believe i’m actually saying this- i want a Fade quest. Wait! I know what you’re thinking but don’t kill me just yet, here’s my idea: what if we could visit the Fade at certain locations to witness memories or meet with spirits and recollect information on Solas, his past, his present? Both to understand him better (keep in mind we’ll most likely get a new protagonist who isn’t familiar with him like we are as players) and try to locate him or predict his next move. It would be i think i great way of having visions of Arlathan in its golden age, maybe seeing some of the other Evanuris, how they interacted with each other and with the elves in their service, what really happened ...i just want that sweet, sweet lore, i need it.
Technical stuff: ok, graphics will be amazing for sure, but i also would really really like: better, more varied and longer hairstyles, PLEASE. Body sliders, it’s damn time we get them. Mounts that actually make a difference! Let staves blades make damage in combat, I’M BEGGING HERE. Combined classes, MAGICAL ROGUES! A homebase we can fix up/build on/redecorate as fully as possible (Skyhold was great and i love it to pieces but why were those walls NEVER repaired????) . More casual outfit options, idk i love to dress up my characters, maybe some transmog? A day/night cycle and please i would love to see Thedas’ second moon, also weather variations depending on the region. Yes, i’m ambitious.
Gameplay: i’d like more AI options for companions, but not quite like in DAO, that was too much and i rarely used it. I’m curious how they’ll do combat this time but i know for sure i don’t want the kind of combat that has me going almost frame by frame pausing at every second, it’s annoying for me. I want large areas like in DAI but with a bit more stuff to see and do although one of my favourite maps is the Hissing Wastes so i won’t complain if we get a literal desert but i’d also like it to have secrets hidden around, make me work to find and solve them, i love exploring, i jump and click on EVERYTHING like i’m still a kid playing Monkey Island. A companion in concept art seems to be holding what looks like some form of rifle, so i’m curious how they’d incorporate that in the game. I know Tevinter has the magics and dwarves have the skill, a firearm is totally within the possibilities in-game without breaking any lore; also super curious what sort of skill trees Crows or Lords of Fortune could have, are they rogues, or warriors, or both??
So far, that’s what i got in my head.Well, most of it anyways, i may have missed something but this post has to end somewhere lol
What’s in your head? Feel free to share! Have you been thinking on how you’ll create your next protagonist? All i can think of is magical rogues and that  glowing bow was all the hype i needed.

Fic Writer Review
I got tagged by @enquiringangel :3 Thanks! (putting the rest under a cut because it got kinda long)
1. How many fics on AO3?
Currently 18
2. Total AO3 wordcount?
77704 words
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Naruto, Borderlands, Undertale, Gloomverse, Teen Wolf… it’s a wide and wild spectrum. (not all of the works are published)
4. Top Five by Kudos?
Twice as Handsome
One Is The Loneliest Number
Just to Be by Your Side
Was it worth the wait?
For the rest of (y)our life
(I’m so proud a few of my naruto babies have managed to sneak up to the top :’3)
5. Do you respond to comments, why/why not?
YES. This is my favourite thing to do, I LOVE talking to people in the comments so much. I sometimes end up responding with more than the original comment, hahaha. Having conversations and hearing what people think gives me joy. I might sometimes not answer short comments when I can’t think of anything beyond “thanks” but I still silently appreciate them.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I mean, the strongest contender for this is a fic that’s not yet fully published but has its ending all planned out. “The Tragic Tale of Timothy Lawrence.” It’s my nastiest work overall too. Otherwise I like writing angst but not really angsty endings unless it’s poetic in some way.
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Yeah, I do, and I can’t help it. It just happens. Although it’s mostly just putting characters from one franchise into another. Craziest…is a tough question. Depends how you define crazy, I always try to let it make sense. I guess my Borderlands x Edna’s Breakout fic qualifies here. A dead fandom crossed over with a small indie game whose fandom never really lived. xD
8. Have you received hate on a fic?
Nope. And please don’t jinx it.
9. Do you write smut?
Yes, unfortunately. (For all of you. xD) No idea if it’s good tho. I try my best.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know.
11. Ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
12. Ever co-written a fic before?
Yes 🙌 Worked a couple of times with my favourite egg in the world. I also wrote privately with other friends on fics and stories. It’s really nice if the chemistry is just right and you can pick up where the other left off when their energy runs out. :3
13. All time favorite ship?
*broken computer noises*
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…….. I’ll just go with my current hyperfixation, if that’s okay. MadaObi
14. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
I have an unholy amount of open WIPs but I refuse to let any of them go.
The only one I have completely given up on is my old Undertale fic “What if…?” because I know for sure I will not touch that again. xD (…too much work, too much rewriting necessary)
There’s no such thing for me as a fic I “want” to finish but “never will”. If I actually want to finish something, then I will… one day. If not, then I never really wanted or cared enough to finish it. That’s how I’m wired. xD
15. What are your writing strengths?
Long internal monologues, emotions and descriptions. I like to think I make nice wordplays and sometimes may even be funny. xD
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Coming up with more plot than I need. (No, seriously, this is a plague.)
Also, dialogue.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages?
You mean like including spoken dialogue that’s in another language than the overall work? It’s neat. I’m not sure how well it works for reading, it’s much more suited for movies (and comics), since you really experience it there and the reward for knowing and understanding the language is much higher.
In a written work, however, you are often looking from the eyes of a narrator, most commonly a certain character. So either they would understand what is said or not. If the character understands it, it would make much more sense if the dialogue is written in a way that it is marked as a different language but still so that every reader can understand it. If the character does not know the language, then they will often not even be able to make out the full words anyway and it would not make much sense to write it out fully. But then again, writing it out fully doesn’t do any harm either beyond giving the knowledgeable reader a nice little treat and giving people the opportunity to translate it later, so as I said before: I don’t mind either way. I’m neutral on that. Whatever works best for the story you want to tell.
If the question means specific words and phrases that are well-known and characteristic for the fandom from the source material, then just yes. The reader understands and it will simply fit in right, unless it’s done in a weird over the top way. I don’t see an issue here.
18. First fandom you wrote for?
I’ve probably written some stuff as a kid, but I don’t remember. (I know I created a giant fix-it story for Naruto but I never wrote any of that down lol. I was more into drawing.) So, my first “official” fanwork was for Undertale.
19. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
This is an evil question. Overall, probably “One Is The Loneliest Number” (despite being far from finished) because it’s gonna be bittersweet when I get to the good stuff. It’s the most planned out and detailed fic I have and I have a lot of feelings about it.
My favourite from my naruto fics (since this is still a naruto blog :’D): It is not a single fic and more a string of little snippets so far, but I really love my ObiMito time travel AU.
Tagging: @aly-uchiha913 @princeofuchiha and whoever else wants to be tagged.

Exit Rant & Rave of Extraordinary You
Because I was watching with a friend and often had to go to sleep immediately after, I did not blog much commentary as I watched the series, but tonight I’m saying fuck sleep and writing some thoughts as I’ve just wrapped up the series.
Obviously stuffed with spoilers to the brim. (It’s long and I probably forgot something.)
Every character in the story believed that the changes they made had some superb effect one way or another the WAY they WANTED or BELIEVED they went/would go, without any proof. Dan Oh believed from get go she could save herself through changing her story. Without a single proof. Similarly, Kyung believed changing her story would kill her. Also without proof, other than his want to keep everything same as on stage. Meanwhile, to a reader it seemed obvious that while Saeguks are all about the tragedy, high school romcom is not likely to have a death of a character on whose romance there’s been quite the focus. Of course, that’s an outside POV. And desperation to live could spark such an idea in Dan Oh, I imagine. But it really got very frustrating around ep 24-26, how all of them kept blaming each other for ‘changing the story’ and dooming Dan Oh, even for things that happened in Trumpet Creeper when neither even REMEMBERED if any of the Stages got changed!!! This made the eps/that part drag for me and frustrate me and it deducted points from story, for me.
Similarly, as watcher/reader it was obvious Writer very much liked Kyung and some readers had been upset with the outcome, so Writer wanted to redeem him through a properly done romance where he Learned to be kinder/had happy ending, and the way to do it while telling a fresh story was to write Haru out and put them in background. More points in ‘Dan Oh ain’t gonna die’ goal. At one point I wondered if messing with the story really wouldn’t end up killing her because maybe grandma was meant to die and she wasn’t.
I still like @gizkasparadise theory his little brother was Writer’s self insert. The other option was he had mad crush on sulky Kyung.
This is how to do a Soulmate trope without mentioning soulmates right. While essentially nothing changed from Writer’s plan, Haru’s and Dan Oh’s feelings were so strong they basically drew him back into existence. His consciousness was tied to hers, it materialized in attempts to protect her and then into the world. Not to mention, all the lines they finally got to say as they had wanted to, the way they couldn’t forget each other. This is something that Dried Squid Fairy glossed over when they spoke of ‘mere extras that can be erased’ when they spoke of comic ending. That he already broke through it once just because he loved so much.
Also the cinematic parallels of him Remembering her and going into the next world versus her Remembering him as she goes into the next world. Whew.
Some more points are docked from the story for the way Do Hwa could NOT keep his mouth shut about anything and how much trouble he caused, but while that made sense for his character overall, the way Dried Squid Fairy told Kyung about erasing one’s self awareness was entirely plot-serving and made no sense.
DSF as narrative foil to Haru and Kyung as narrative foil to Do Hwa was gorgeously done.
Joo Da is Aro, in my head. While I can see it as Polyamorous thing, for me it’s more of an Aro being confused as what counts as ‘liking’ and ‘loving’ someone romantically, so intense care and friendship gets mistaken as one and therefor she just wants them all 3 to be together, happy, and can’t pick one, sticks with the one that needs her more as friend. She really seemed to struggle with word love and also never saw any kisses, on Stage or otherwise!
As a clear proof of being extensively spoiled for story doesn’t replace watching experience, I did not expect to have SO many feelings about DSF and his lady. I think I teared up over them before our main couple, oops, when he treated her to a meal. The YEARNING. Somehow, the way she played a soft matchmaker when Dan Oh forgot, the way they mirror each other... They were very powerful baseline for what the show was telling, putting it all in a sharp and cutting focus.
“Congratulations on graduating from this world” was one of the, if not most, powerful line in the series for me, somehow. The bittersweet taste of it. ‘You endured through the pain and the longing. You learned. You grew. You are leaving it all behind. And maybe there will be no more you, or me, ever. Congratulations. You did well.’ Oh god. I just can’t deal. (I need this on gifset)
Kyung is Fuckyung as my friend deemed him. That’s all. While I did feel sympathy for him at various times and was like “Dan Oh, if only you gave him chance to speak/didn’t literally run off to Haru quite in most brusque/fuck you way”.... He still Fucked up, he was still messed up and chose some really messed up things even full aware of making those choices and consequences. His ‘redemption’ was short and without proper momentum and idk. I hope he can be happier and more whole in next volume.
Speaking of which, I am so upset most of their belongings and memories like photos and such disappear. And that we can never know who will live through iterations, how many lifetimes Haru and Dan Oh will have. The thought Sae Mi might’ve gotten through to uni life and DSF and Do Hwa might not have... Fucks me up, in a bad way.
Also what’s the deal with ERASING a world? I’d never erase my own worlds. And I like to think that after story is finished, if you think about it and things like fanfiction keep it not being ‘shut down’ like this.
Also it’s a SOFT COVER BOOK, it’d not shut so loudly, lol.
I really loved the softness of our couple. Like, YESSS. Perfect. Overall, this did so many of things I love right and even when it went into territories I wasn’t fond of, it was still quite good. I can say, yeah, this goes in top favorite drama list. It’s hard to say good bye to it and watching it with my friend was a huge highlight of my April.
