Copper Gauntlet final update:
OKAY SO A LOT HAS HAPPENED!!
Alastair isn’t actually evil which I’m glad of cuz now he’s back in my top 3 favorite characters. But what I’m not glad of is that there’s a spy in Magisterium. I’m not exactly worried abt the spy but about what the spy wants. They clearly don’t work for Joseph since the wild elemental tried also to kill Call which means that there’s an another evil guy who is probably even stronger than Joseph and is also from Magisterium which means that there will be a betrayal. To be honest i have two suspects and one of them is Celia(NOW HEAR ME OUT!) she knows everything about everyone and just feels a little too innocent and kind just like Drew did and he ended up being Josephine’s son. Also I think Celia doesn’t like makars because of Constantine. She also showed her darker side to Call when she said that she would murder Constantine if she ever met him. But here’s the problem with this solution: Celia doesn’t have an access to the wild elementals nor does she have the power to command them which can explain why the elemental started attacking everyone and not just Aaron(or maybe she’s just evil). Or maybe she tried to kill Call cuz she somehow found out who he is and she hates him. But why did she kiss him then?(it should’ve been Aaron)
My other suspect is one of the Masters or even Rufus himself since they have the power to access the elementals. But why would they kill their students? The answer remains to be seen.
But what I actually came here to talk about is Call…where should I even begin?
First of all, the severed head was a slay move(literally)(talking abt Constantine not about Verity)(I really don’t understand how they said that a book with severed teenage girl’s head as a door knocker is for children)
Second, the more important thing, the secret is out. In the whole book it was my favorite moment, especially when all the chaos-ridden people followed all his orders. He also unlocked his chaos magic which means nothing but problems. I’m so happy that Call’s friends were so much more chill abt it than I expected. I kinda want to see Call in his evil era tho…
(Yaaay Jasper is getting his character development!!)
I just remembered that next to Drew’s body there was a picture of him and his dad and someone else but that person was ripped out of the picture. Sus.
I’m so sad they Jericho’s body was destroyed because it was so cute how he has all his important stuff around him😭Constantine really loved his brother🫶🏻🫶🏻

Water is eternal. It cannot be created. It cannot be destroyed.
Water is ancient. It fell from the heavens at the beginning of the world encased in rock, and, once it was freed, drowned the flames and ash. It falls to the earth still, a cycle that cannot be broken, an ouroboros eating its own tail.
Water is all-encompassing, everywhere. It is present in ever living thing. It seeps into that which is believed to be dead but is not.
Water births.
Water sustains.
Water kills.
The man walked up the misted dock with an assurance that could only be granted by absolute power; someone who was used to taking what he wanted, the very mountains crumbling beneath his will. His skin was paler than sun-bleached bone, and his hair was the color of burnished gold and fell in tousled waves to his coat collar. He wore black clothing, blacker boots, and a dark gray jacket that accentuated his musculature well, silver buttons neatly fastened through ever hole atop his wrists and up the deceptively delicate, almost swan-like curve of his throat. His blood ran slowly through his veins, each beat of his heart punctured by a wound that would never heal.
He stopped halfway down the dock, hellfire-green eyes scanning the partially obscured surface of the lake, and spoke.
“I need you to do something for me.”
The trees did not answer, gnarled roots and trunks bent, arms burdened with leaves bending down to be swallowed by the water, but the man had not expected them to. The mist did not answer either, but he had not expected it to, anymore than the trees. The wind, faint and weak, running the incorporeal tendrils of its fingers down his neck, didn’t answer, but he had not expected it to anymore than he had the trees and the mist.
“I said: I need you to do something for me.”
We heard you the first time, the response came from everywhere and nowhere, a thousand voices speaking as one but slightly overlapping, the angry buzz of bees, the deafening patter of raindrops against a metal roof, the howl of a hurricane, waves crashing against the shore, who are you, to think you can command the Element of Water?
“I’m the Enemy of Death.”
A moment of silence, then a loud crack as the end of the dock splintered off, then a thump as a mangled corpse pulled itself from the churning depths and heaved itself onto the splintered end of the dock.
The mage gasped and staggered back, watching as the animated corpse dragged itself towards him with the nasty scraps of bone against wood, and the wet slaps of wood against rotted flesh. The water, splintered boards, rusted nails, vegetation, and silt, came with it, reconstructed its body as it went.
By the time the Devoured was erected and whole, the Enemy of Death had composed himself again to the point of neutrality.
The Devoured smiled like a predator, the vines wrapped around her bones and ruptured flesh acting as muscles and ligaments, her remaining bits of skin splitting at the movement, peeling away from her ruined body. Blood and oil leaked from her empty eye sockets, and her black hair twisted around her form like a shroud. She was vaguely humanoid, vaguely feminine, and vaguely young. She wore the tattered remains of a Golden Year uniform and a Magisterium wristband.
“Hello, Tamara.”
Hello, Aaron.

Sometimes I wish we would start calling out the performative radicalism on this site for the poser bullshit it is. "Remember, it's always morally correct to kill a cop!" "Don't forget to firebomb your local government office!" "Wow, it sure would be a shame if these instructions on how to make a molotov cocktail got spread around!"
Okay. But you're not killing cops or firebombing government offices. You are posting on a dying microblogging website to a carefully-curated echo chamber that has radicalized itself into thinking that taking the absolute most extreme position on any subject is praxis but that anyone discussing the most practical way to effect actual change is your sworn enemy. You do not have the street cred OR the activist cred to be talking about killing cops, babe.

Copper Gauntlet update #2:
OKAY IT’S GETTING INTENSE!!
So I’m at the part where Call tells his friends + Jasper THAT secret abt himself and OMG!!!
I had to leave for school tho so I didn’t have time to read their reactions and now I can’t think of anything but them😭 I’m so scared what they’re gonna do to Call and if they’re gonna expose him although he’s innocent bcs basically he and Constantine are different people. Yeah they have the same soul but Call doesn’t have any memories of Constantine and memories is what makes us ourselves so basically he is still Call.
Also I find it super cool that the chaos-ridden people follow Call’s orders cuz it makes him cool.
Also I really can’t defend Alastair anymore after Call found those letter. I get why Alastair wants the original Call back but he raised Call as his son and i really thought that he loved Call.
I want to know who commanded that wild elemental to attack Call and his friends and even kill that nice woman. Also what’s the backstory behind the woman and Alastair cuz they definitely knew each other and when she said “you can never escape the enemy of death” she looked at Call. Very suspicious especially since she was the one who imprisoned Havoc. The elemental was Magisterium’s but Rufus had no idea that it was sent. Maybe the other Masters are plotting behind his back?? Maybe it was Josephine and he somehow got the Elemental out?? I don’t know but I really can’t wait till school end and I can continue reading it. Only three hours left😭😭
(We have chicken soup for school lunch today🐓)

The funniest thing that could happen in ofmd season 2 is Stede and Izzy hanging out so much they accidentally become best friends and both absolutely horrified when someone (definitely Oluwande or Jim) points it out to them.
Like I can definitely see a situation happening where Stede goes off into danger and Izzy is adamant that he’s not going after him to help but it immediately cuts to a scene of him going after him and all you can hear is him going “stupid fucking Stede Bonnet” like we know he’d say something like that.
Enemies who grow to care about each other is my favourite thing.
