Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x f!reader, Kate Bishop x Yelena Belova, platonic!Kate Bishop x f!reader

Warnings: a very poor attempt at humour

Summary: your best friend Kate needs backup after a mishap with Yelena's family

“I need you here yesterday!”

“What?” You whisper-shout, looking around the office to make sure no one noticed you ducking away to take a call from your best friend.

“Please, I'm desperate! I can't do this alone, they're like sharks and I just spilled blood!”

“Kate, what the hell are you talking about?”

“Yelena's family! They're scary as shit on a good day, but now we messed up real bad, and I think they're gonna decapitate me,” she whines.

“Okay, let's backtrack. What did you do?”

“...”

“Kate?”

There's shuffling on the other side, a deep sigh and then, “Melina found the handcuffs. With the fur. They were still attached to the bed.”

You snort, loud enough to attract annoyed looks from your coworkers. “Happens to the best of-”

“And the whip. It was on the bed too.”

You chortle, this time not caring about your surroundings, and swiftly move further down the hall. “She knows Yelena's a big girl, she can ha-”

“Natasha was there too!”

You stop in your tracks. Now that's interesting.

“She'll never let you forget it,” you say with all the confidence you have, even though you've never met the woman before. You know just enough from what Kate and Yelena told you to be sure of that.

“She's not letting me forget it now! She got all sneaky and secretive, whispering with Melina and looking at me, and now I'm on my way to a family dinner. A family dinner with my girlfriend's family, while said girlfriend got called away on some emergency mission,” she huffs angrily.

“There's no emergency mission, is there?”

“There better be!”

You chuckle, shaking your head. It's never a boring day with Kate Bishop.

“So,” she starts, aiming for a nonchalant tone, “I'm downstairs.”

“What?”

“Yep. Waiting for you at the front. Better hurry, parking is expensive as hell.”

“Kate.”

“I'm your bestie. And my girlfriend's mom found the handcuffs. I need you.”

You check the time, noting that the workday is nowhere near it's end. With a sigh, you head for the elevator, not even bothering to come back for your bag.

“I love you.”

“I haven't agreed to-”

“I know what that sigh means!”

You groan. “Yeah, yeah. You owe me.”

Turns out, Yelena's family is even scarier then you imagined.

“So, Y/n,” Melina starts, looking at you like you're one of her lab rats, “Do you usually leave your… sexual… stuff after you're done?”

You turn red, choking on the wine. Kate sends you a look of pity.

Natasha smirks.

“I don't… I'm not sure- Um. Well, no.”

Melina hums, nodding to herself. “Good.”

She digs into her food, and you exhale in relief, feeling like the worst part is over.

“So where do you keep your stuff, Y/n?” Natasha asks over the rim of her glass, her eyes full of mischief.

Kate slides lower in her seat, boring holes into her fork.

Melina perks up, once again regarding you like one of her subjects. “I would also like to know. To pass the advice to my daughter and her girlfriend.”

You gulp.

“Well?” Natasha prompts.

You shudder from the intensity of the look she's giving you.

“Can we move on?” Kate whispers, looking around nervously.

“Yes, of course,” Melina nods, her eyes lighting up like she was waiting for a subject change.

Natasha sends Kate an amused smile, and you relax slightly. Now the worst part is over, you're sure.

“So, Y/n-”

Fuck.

“-are you single?”

You nod, shoving a forkful of some meat salad - which mostly consists of mayonnaise - to avoid talking.

“And you're gay, correct?” Melina asks, peering into your very soul.

You nod again, chewing fast.

“Why are you gay?”

You choke on a piece of potato, wheezing and reaching for a glass of water. Kate almost falls of her chair in haste to smack you on the back. Natasha just looks at her mother, unimpressed. “Really?”

“What?” Melina shrugs. “I'm a scientist, I'm conducting research.”

The redhead groans, rubbing her eyes. “Of course.”

You feel a little better now that Natasha is annoyed.

Melina still looks at you, expecting an answer.

You sigh, “Are you gay?”

She blinks, looking like an owl. Natasha chokes on a laugh, sending you a look of appreciation. Kate mutters something about bathroom and darts out of the room, hopefully to call Yelena and fix all this mess.

“Well,” Melina starts, deep in thought. “I suppose I've never given it much of a thought.”

You nod, feeling accomplished in swaying attention from yourself.

“Natasha.” The older woman turns abruptly. “You are gay.”

The redhead groans, sliding down in her seat. “Mother, please.”

“She's gay, and you're gay. You're both miserably single.”

“Huh?” You frown, affronted.

“Fuck my life,” Natasha mumbles into the table, her face pressed tight against it in a feeble effort of disappearing.

“Yelena's on her way!” Kate walks back into the room, triumphant.

“Finally,” you sigh, pointedly looking at the ceiling to avoid Melina's penetrative gaze. “Where's she, by the way?”

“Hiding, probably,” Natasha snorts, shaking her head. “Escaped the scene of crime and left her girlfriend to pick up the mess.” She raises her glass in Kate's general direction, “You're doing good so far, Bishop. Even brought reinforcement - good thinking.”

“Yes-yes,” Melina nods, her eyes darting between you three. “Yelena's a bit of a coward in that regard, but we have an important matter to discuss.”

Natasha glares at her mother. “No, we don-”

“Natasha can cook. Well, she can microwave.”

“What did I miss?” Kate frowns, settling back into her seat. “Actually, no. I don't want to know.”

“As I was saying,” Melina clears her throat, paying no mind to the murderous look Natasha sends her. You'd feel gleeful at that - Natasha's plan came back to bite her in the ass - if you weren't the other victim in this scenario. “Natasha can cook. She's excellent with knives. She's an excellent shot. She can dismantle a bomb in a matter of seconds. She's a… a catch.”

You smile at the miserable expression on Natasha's face, her cheeks dusted with pink.

“Oh…” Kate whispers, looking at you from the corner of her eye. “Well, actually, Y/n is-” she yelps loudly when your heel connects with her toes, and turns bright red at the shooting pain. “-a bitch. She's a bitch.”

The look in Melina's eyes turns gleeful. “That was excellent.”

Fucking hell, no matter what you do, your grave turns deeper and deeper.

Natasha snorts, chugging her wine like it's water. Melina's mouth opens again, and you say a stupid thing to save yourself from further embarrassment.

“Can we go back to Kate's handcuffs, please,” you mutter with a sigh.

The look of betrayal your friend sends you doesn't work the way she intended, because you don't feel guilty at all.

Melina's mouth snaps shut, her eyes widening. The sight alone tells you you said the wrong thing.

“Have you and Kate ever-”

“No!” you both shout, before the older woman can finish the question.

“Sounds defensive,” Natasha chuckles, reaching for the bottle of vodka.

“Wha- What?” You hiss, glaring at the spy.

“She's- Y/n’s not even my type! And I'm not her type either!” Kate splutters.

“Mhm,” Natasha hums, “that I can see.”

You gape, not sure if you're supposed to be offended. “What?”

Natasha smirks, planting her chin on her fist. “You need a firm hand. Your best friend is anything, but firm.”

Her eyes trail down your body, pupils darkening ever so slightly. Your cheeks burn and, suddenly, it's hard to breathe. You clear your throat and gulp down the last of your wine, carefully avoiding her gaze.

“O-okay. That's- okay, yep,” Kate mutters to herself. “Fuck my life.”

“Am I wrong?” Natasha husks, reaching across the table to play with the golden bracelet on your wrist.

Really, right in front of her mother?

The front door opens with a loud bang, and you jump up, relieved to see Yelena. The feeling doesn't last long, because a second later you notice the bleeding wound on her torso.

“So that was an actual mission,” you mumble, missing the way Natasha snorts in your haste to get Yelena to the couch.

Kate looks pale, but swiftly starts helping Yelena undress. Melina's ready with the first aid kid by the time they finally tear off the shirt.

“So?” Natasha whispers into your ear, sending goosebumps down your skin. “Am I wrong?”

Apparently, not even her bleeding sister can stop her.

“No,” you reply, “you're not wrong.”

She hums, satisfied. “I am miserably single, you know?"

You let out a loud laugh, not even bothering to quiet down when Yelena sends you a murderous look.

“I am miserably single, too.”

She smiles, nodding to herself.

“Want to fix that?” She asks after a bit, her eyes glinting in the soft evening light.

“They'll never shut up about it,” you groan, stepping closer to her.

“Yeah,” she hums, her grin stretching wider. “So?”

"A little help?" Yelena wheezes, glaring daggers at the two of you. "Hello? Your sister is dying."

“Yes,” you reply, not taking your eyes away from her green pools.

“Perfect,” she breathes, before pressing a gentle kiss to the corner of your mouth. “I'll pick you up tomorrow at six.”

"Fucking unbelievable," Yelena mutters and yelps when Melina shushes her with a pinch and a hissed "don't ruin my hard work".

Kate just looks like she's about to faint.

You grin. "I can't wait."

I'll Take You In |Naruto Men X Reader| HC

Characters: Kakashi Hatake, Sasuke Uchiha, Shikamaru Nara, Naruto Uzumaki, and Gaara

Summary: They bring home a baby.

Warnings: Implications of child abandonment.

Kakashi Hatake

It was late at night, and he'd just returned home from a mission.

You immediately noticed the little bundle in his arms. Without a second thought, you'd plucked the little one out of his arms and made your way to the couch for cuddles.

"Who's this?"

He sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck and took the spot next to you.

"A little girl we found alone in the woods on the way back. No one in the area claimed her, so we brought her back here."

"She's beautiful."

"I offered to take her in."

You were shocked by that. Kakashi had never shown any interest in kids, so for him to offer to take one in was unexpected.

"I know, I should've talked to you first, I just," he sighed, "I got kind of attached."

You shook your head at him, worried he'd taken your shock as disappointment.

"I get why. She definitely fits the baby sized hole I've suddenly acquired in my heart."

The next morning, you'd taken the little girl to Sakura for a checkup and to the records hall for a birth certificate.

Meanwhile, Kakashi had recruited a Gai to assist him with the nursery.

By end of day, you had a fully built and stocked bedroom for your daughter.

It hadn't even been 24 hours, and yet you'd already perfectly filled out as a family.

Sasuke Uchiha

You'd just returned home from grocery shopping when you found Sasuke and Kakashi talking in the living room.

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until Sasuke turned around holding a baby.

You dropped the bags in your hand and immediately made your way over to them.

"Who's the cutie?"

You combed your fingers through the baby's hair and fought the urge to kiss their face.

"Naruto and I found him in the woods on the way back from Suna. We asked around, but no one seemed to be missing a baby."

Sasuke passed the baby to you, knowing you would most definitely want to cuddle.

He made eye contact with Kakashi, a silent way of telling him to leave. He did without protest, knowing exactly why he was no longer welcome.

"I actually wanted to discuss something with you."

You hummed, too busy playing peekaboo to pay your husband any mind.

"I would like to... keep the baby."

Your eyes snapped up at him. Who was this and where was your husband?

"You want to keep a random baby you found?"

He blushed, not really liking the forwardness of your words.

"He's a good baby. He'd make a great addition to the clan."

You didn't need any further convincing. You loved kids and wanted plenty of them. This would just be a head start of sorts.

You hugged and kissed Sasuke, thankful you had a wonderful husband.

Shikamaru Nara

Oh boy.

When Shikamaru came home with a baby, you knew something was up.

He never volunteered for work, so you knew something unfortunate had to have happened.

You'd made your way over to him to see the baby, but stopped when you didn't recognize them.

Sakura and Hinata had recently had their babies, so you expected it'd be one of them, but no. This baby didn't look like anyone you knew.

"They found her in one of Orochimaru's old hideouts. Sakura checked her out, and she seems okay, but..."

"But?"

"She needs a home."

You nodded. Obviously, she needed a home. Then it dawned on you.

"You want us to keep her?"

He nodded and looked away.

You smiled.

"She must be something special if you wanna take her in."

"Kakashi asked me specifically, and I don't know, there's just something about her..."

You stopped him before he started talking himself into a hole. You understood, and were more than happy to bring the little one into your family.

Naruto Uzumaki

When Sakura told you that your husbands had found a baby on their way home from Suna, you weren't very surprised that Naruto had come home with them.

He looked a bit sheepish, like a kid who got caught by his mom.

Neither of you had to say anything. You already knew what he was going to ask, and he already knew that you knew.

"Look, I know what the orphanage is like, and he's so little, and-"

"It's okay, Naruto. I understand."

He felt a flood of relief wash through him.

"So we can keep him?"

You laughed and took the baby from him.

He really was so little, probably less than a week old. You felt a sense of obligation, not just because of Naruto. It felt like that baby was supposed to be yours.

"Yeah, I think I'd like to take him in."

Gaara

Since he had taken over the role of Kazekage, the sand village had been striving. Poverty was at an all time low, shinobi had higher success rates due to higher moral, and the economy had been booming.

The orphanage had, thankfully, been empty for quite some time, so when a baby was suddenly in need of a home, they came to him first.

He thought about reopening the orphanage for this one child, but he had a better idea.

Which is why he had come home from his regular work day with a baby.

To say you were shocked would be an understatement. You never imagined Gaara would be the one to bring home a child, that was much more yout Forte.

"I should have discussed this with you prior. I can always make alternate arrangements if you-"

You shut him up instantly.

This baby was now yours. A little girl, a daughter, just as you had always imagined.

"She's perfect."

I saw some people talking about yuumori character sexualities and just wanted to add my own headcanons <33

Sherlock: see now, we all know sherlock has been explicitly stating his... Repulsion (yes, not "oh im not attracted to them" straight up repulsion at the thought of being in a romantic and/or sexual relationship with them)

And im not saying sherlock is misogynistic. He has been seen very happily helping women with their cases. And might i add that on the Noahtic, while everyone was prancing around with a lady on his arm, sherlock was standing in the corner. Even though he was also with ladies he was CLEARLY in it only for their appreciation of him. Because you see, Sherlock is a clever man. He saw these bunch of women who had no one to dance with and was aware that they would be head over heels for his skills. And he was probably sent to the Noahtic by mycroft, so why not pass some time and get some praise?

But as soon as he met Liam he felt an instant obsession connection. Not necessarily romantic, but this is where that japanese feeling that i forgot the name of comes in. The feeling of meeting someone and instantly knowing that while you dont feel anything now, you could potentially be dynamic (is that the correct word, for sherliam i think it is)

And as i said and will say again, sherlock is a clever man. Of course he's not gonna sit around sexually frustrated, when he can easily use his charms and skills to find the right people. But as per literally canon, until he met Liam he didnt feel romantic (that comes later though, first was obsession) "attraction".

Conclusion? Gay demiromantic.

William: now while william never had a "repulsion" to women, I'd say he quite literally has a repulsion to any idea of a romantic relationship at all. He looked at london and got his "lemme fix that" hyperfixation game so heavy that he forgot he was alive most of the times. That man falls asleep on random occasions at literally anywhere at any time because he avoids sleep for his plans. Do you expect him to have any sort of romantic or sexual relationship? No, sir.

Then waltzes in Sherlock. Like i said, instant obsession. Though for William, that japanese feeling never came. While he was always hoping for a different reality where he and sherlock could be together, he never acknowledged his feelings enough to let himself feel something.

But talking about sexual attraction, while i do firmly believe Liam doesnt feel it for the better part of his life, he did start to feel some things a while after meeting sherlock. He fucking KNEW what he was doing with that "catch me if you can, mr holmes~" I think it surprised him too, all this strange emotions trickling in slowly after years of not feeling anything.

Conclusion? Demisexual AND demiromantic.

John: thought he was straight, but you all have seen his reaction to irene when they dressed up as the king of bohamia right? I'd say bisexual, but he's still learning to embrace that part of his identity. And even when he does embrace it, i dont think he's gonna do anything about it. Cuz like cmon, its 19th century London. Do you think he'll damn himself by loving a man when he is capable of what most people like him are not (to love someone of the opposite gender)? But I DO think he had a crush on louis for a while but i think that just for shits and giggles hehe

Louis: aroace. No questions asked. He loves in a very... Devotional way. Like liam and possibly albert, he has an unbreakable attachment to them. His love for their found family? He is soooo aro ace coded.

Albert: wineromantic. bisexual disaster.

Moran: pansexual just cuz. He loves his women but he has had something with albert and possibly james that is simply not heterosexual. And he was in the army cmon if there's a hole there's a goal

James: pansexual BECAUSE, hear me out, he had known this since he was a teenager. Which is why it took him until he got to Moriarty's to realise he actually wants to be a man. He had known men love him, so he was styling his hair and wearing tight corsets. He had known women loved him, so he was putting on disguises to kiss and snog. I think he was just so comfortable in his identity he never felt the need to be the opposite gender. But he was and, well, we're happy for our boy.

Fred: ace, maybe demi, and genderfluid. I might be projecting on the genderfluid part here but can you blame me? He/they pronouns.

Jack: he's above such measly attractions (idk maybe he was young he could have had something but idk anything while looking at him now)

Mycroft: gay gay homosexual gay. No straight man spends 30 minutes every morning putting pomade in his hair (hiding a part of your identity, already? Huh myckey?)

Miss hudson: straight because she didn't feel any (okay maybe somewhat) attraction to irene but when she met JAMES ouahahahaha

"Trick Up Your Sleeve" is a MM gay midlife romance about boys in a band getting back together and finding happy-ever-after. This is the first in a series revolved around the same couple settling into life together amidst the family of their rock band Swan.

Matt Usher woke up one day to his silent, empty house. This was not an unusual occurrence. Over the past fifteen years, when Matt Usher woke up, it was usually to silence and emptiness.

What was unusual was that, on this day, Matt had nothing to do.

More often than not, over the past few months, Matt’s days had been busy whirlwinds of activity, serving as a mentor and coach and judge on the reality show Who Can Sing the Best? After years of aimlessness, the opportunity had taken him by surprise, as had the fact that it turned out he liked being busy. Now that the show was done filming and he was faced with all this empty silence all around him, a day stretching out in front of him in which nobody wanted him for anything, he felt…twitchy.

He got himself out of bed and sat at his piano and looked out over the California coastline. It was a perfect view of sea and sky that he had paid a lot of money for at one point, because it was supposed to have indicated that he had Made It. Now Matt could no longer remember exactly what he had made it for, or even what the “it” was that he had made.

Matt looked at the half-written songs he had scrawled over sheet music all over the piano, some of them songs he’d started working on literally years ago, because that was how long it had been since he had finished a song. Whenever he sat down to write a song, he inevitably remembered how easily he used to write songs, how they used to flow right out of him, how he would write multiple songs a week and they would all be top ten hits.

Of course, then he hadn’t been alone, he’d had…

Matt walked away from the piano. That seemed like definitely the wisest course of action. Better to walk away than to get mired all over again in everything he’d lost, everything he no longer was.

This was why Who Can Sing the Best? had been so great. It had, for the first time in a long time, given him somewhere to live that wasn’t the past. He’d had a present he was enjoying and it seemed like it had been so long since he had enjoyed his present.

How could he keep that going?

It took some hunting for Matt to find his cell phone because he never could remember where he left his cell phone. When he found it, he ignored all the texts because those would all be from people wanting to hitch onto his suddenly gleaming-again star: come out clubbing or go to a restaurant opening or be seen shopping in the right store. Matt knew all of these texts by heart, he’d lived all of them the first time around with his fame. The thought of going through all of them again – alone, this time – was not appealing.

But he definitely needed something to do. For too long he’d let himself wallow in silence and emptiness, enjoying the epic proportions of the sulk he was nursing, all while Patrick went off and filled his life to the brim with all sorts of things that weren’t Matt. Who Can Sing the Best? indicated that sometimes people still cared about him, even though he no longer came with a whole rock band attached to him. Maybe there were other people to find who would also care. Matt called his manager and said, “Okay. What else do you think you can get me to do?”

Final Verdict: 10, If You Are Male and Queer Please Watch This Franchise Immediately. I'm giving this movie a 10 for the way the entire franchise has been the most satisfying experience I've had in BL in a really long time. I keep begging for realistic approaches to male-male intimacy and relationships, and this franchise hits it constantly. Rio is layers of bullshit hiding an incredible loneliness and sense of worthlessness, and it was so satisfying to see him claw his way out of that because he found someone else who finally connected to him. It's been a really long time since I felt this good about going back to something I skipped over for one reason over another, and I can say confidently that I fully trust @lurkingshan recommendations. If you are gay and feeling a bit displaced in BL, please watch this, and then ping her, me, @harurio @ginnymoonbeam or @waitmyturtles. I promise it will be worth your time.

“Oh yeah right, of course” James said laughing awkwardly “nope, definitely straight, just there with my mates”

“It’s a fun club” Lily agreed “my friend Kingsley loves it. Used to go there every weekend when he was single”

“Kingsley Shacklebolt?” James asked suddenly.

“Yeah, that’s him!” Lily said smiling “I think he was there this last weekend with his boyfriend. Did you meet him?”

“Yeah, I’m Sirius Black’s brother”

“Oh I have heard about you. I suppose I just didn’t put the dots together” Lily said smiling at him. God, he was fit .

A clap of thunder alerted Lily to the fact that the sky had suddenly decided to open and her sofa was about to get drenched.

“Shit” she cursed running to yank the window closed.

It was easier when a second pair of joined, helping her move the old window back to latch closed.

Lily felt her breath hitch as she registreed the hot press of his body against hers.

He seemed to realise he was flush against her.

“Sorry” he said hastily, stepping back to create distance between them.

Lily suddenly felt overwhelmingly hot even though the cool thunderstorm had blown in a draft.

Her eyes flicked over his soft lips where his tongue darted out nervously. Lily had the sudden urge to taste him. She pulled her gaze away to meet his own, only to notice it was darker than when they’d last locked eyes.

Fuck.

Lily wasn’t even aware she’d moved, but her mind came back into her body at the sizzling feel his lips left on hers.

He was delicious.

She fought the moan he pulled out of her, before giving in when his warm hand slipped under her shirt.

“Shit, you sound amazing” James murmured.

Lily lost herself in his lips until his hand traced a questioning circle around her thigh and she became aware enough of her surroundings that she realised they’d migrated to the couch.

As she pleaded with him to touch her, a faraway thought crossed her mind.

Perhaps dating wasn’t getting old after all.

Me and my teacher have been talking about Robespierre and he told me that there are rumors that he might've been homosexual. He then asked me if that would've affected his reputation. Who made the rumors and who is the subject that made people think that Robespierre was possibly homosexual?

I don’t get how Robespierre being homosexual can be called a rumor when it’s really clear as day? I mean, Robespierre openly admits he’s got a boyfriend in this letter to Maurice Duplay:

Okay, jokes aside, I don’t know when exactly the claim that Robespierre could have been homo first showed up, but as far as I’m aware it wasn’t one that circulated during his life nor one that was among the slanders thrown against him in the aftermath of his death. So if today, the idea of him possibly being gay is not unheard of, I don’t think it was one that affected him and his reputation during his lifetime.

When trying to find exactly from where and when this idea originates, I actually only found somewhat recent works (that said, I know it dates back far earlier than that, I just don’t know who first came up with it). According to Peter McPhee, Jean Artarit presents the following thesis in his Maximilien Robespierre ou l’impossible filiation from 2003:

The psychoanalyst Jean Artarit is at an extreme, offering the insight that Robespierre’s misspelling in an electoral pamphlet of a shoemaker’s name Lantillette as Languillette (“baby eel”) shows a longing to cut off the penis. For Robespierre was apparently a repressed homosexual with a castration complex, a misogynist and pathological narcissist constantly searching for a good father and an all-powerful mother.

There’s also this passage from The Alyson Almanac (1989):

Although Robespierre may have never acted on his homosexual feelings, his strong attraction to members of his own sex is indisputable. His attachment to the handsome Saint-Just, known as "The Archangel of the Revolution,” was the source of frequent rumors.

There’s basically the answer to your question regarding who (most often?) is the subject who made people think Robespierre was homosexual — his nine years younger co-worker Louis Antoine Saint-Just. Although, again, I’m pretty sure the author is mistaken here and that no rumors regarding them being a thing are proven to have existed while they were still alive (right @frevandrest…?)

What makes up the idea of Robespierre and Saint-Just as a couple is mostly a bunch of circumstantials which to be boring fair can be interpreted in a bunch of ways that aren’t romantically and/or sexually linked as well. These include (but are not limited to) both Saint-Just and Robespierre being unmarried (the latter even allegedly shouting ”I will never marry!” in an anecdote, and this despite the fact that we have clues of marriage plans between him and several women, none of which ended in a wedding), contemporaries admitting a certain closeness between the two (examples: 1, 2, 3), Robespierre’s host claiming Saint-Just would go straight to Robespierre’s chamber without talking to anyone else in the family, later allegations of Saint-Just being super handsome (despite the fact that contemporaries just appear to have described him as average looking) and finally the fact that Saint-Just stayed with Robespierre until the bitter end, going out with the aim to defend him on 9 thermidor and dying with him on the scaffold one day later.

firstly, thank you so much for all the messages about me helping you building a better relationship with femininity. It makes me really happy. I am sending a warm hug to all of you.

moving forward I think I will one day study more about shadow work (psychology) and appreciate how detrans kink has helped me overcome a lot of things.

but I also don't plan to stay here.

to answer the big question, how do you feel about your gender after all these? I feel non-binary. sometimes I feel euphoria being mistaken as trans fem and im happy. sometimes i feel really euphoric for being a mlm trans man, and i like being the androgynous one.

I truly just experimented with my gender in early 2023, and I found out it is really fun to be a girl. but I am not one. but i'm happy i experimented with it.

by all means, experiment with your gender. play with your gender. you don't have to make it shame-bound. i stopped doing shame-play because it was impacting on my mental health deeply and negatively.

at first i couldn't stop masturbating to shameful emotions. i went to Sex Addicts Anonymous meetings, left because it has a Christianity origin (although they're so open-minded and religion/atheism friendly) and there's a lot of shame involved there too.

but SAA and the people there really helped me build a positive lifestyle when I was there. I carried the positive changes and influences into my life.

i feel like myself finally. and all that journey was worth it in the end. i felt like myself with finally living on my own, making new friends, healing my own attachment woundings, going to therapy, finding my community and experiencing so much queer joy. and i learnt to be vulnerable in a good way, so i can build authentic relationships. (with a lot of financial and emotional support from family and friends)

i don't know. this is the light at my tunnel end for me i think. i was very miserable when i was starting this blog, and now i have overcome a lot of that misery. i am still struggling with depression and anxiety. but i am having a way better time now.

guys, just between us I wanna share two things. Firstly, I really wanna stop my period but not lose my hair. So i got on birth control (progesterone). But it is pushing me towards a psychological deep-end and I do not wanna risk destabilizing myself. (Took me a long time to become mentally stable.) So I think I will get back on testosterone after taking a year of taking a break.

Yeah, one day I might be as bald as the men on my mother's side. But it's good to look my age. I am a radiant person. I am sure I will still be lovable and beautiful and alternative when I get there. Rocking a mullet on the back with a balding on top.

And secondly, I realize I really like he/they trans boys, and I want to love them as myself. A they/he/she. I wanna be in a gay relationship with them. I want maybe two boyfriends and one girlfriend (or enbyfriends!) and I want to meet the metamours, my beloveds' beloveds. I want to be in a polycule with a lot of queer joy in the household. maybe i'll meet them at 2am when getting pizza wearing baggy sweatpants, who knows!

i am happy and i wanna spread that queer joy here. and i wanna send you guys my love.

hi leanne! <3 oh i'm so glad you asked about this one. this is my biggest (and simultaneously most disorganized) wip. let me set the scene for u: our protagonist is a cringefail burnt-out woman. like,, actually cringefail, not aesthetic "cringefail". i mean, an absolute sopping wet beast of a lady. she's sapphic. she's depressed. she's got an avoidant attachment style. she microwaves cheese and calls it a meal. she never got over a homoeroticbestfriendship™️ from her early twenties (have any of us, tbh?) one day, the world ends. in the aftermath, she reunites with an old friend and finds community in a ragtag group they encounter along the way. together, they try to a) navigate the Horrors™️, and b) figure out what the actual fuck is going on. in short, the story asks, "hey what if the Earth was a sentient being that took revenge on those who exploited her? what are our responsibilities to one another? how do we care and create community at the end of the world?"

there are elements of horror, romance, and sci-fi, with themes of anti-capitalism, anti-colonialism, and environmental justice as a central crux. lots of angst, feminine rage, found family and gay yearning lol. it's also got fruity little queers watching rich people get their shit rocked by sentient hillsides that just loveeee to strip the meat from Jeff Bezo's bones <3 I haven't touched the WIP in a long while, so not super happy with this, but here's a passage that gives the general kind of vibe:

Don't Pick Up Boyfriends From the Trash Bin: (recommended) A man dies and a system gets attached to him, before he goes into multiple worlds and saves the people he transmigrates into

(A brilliant webnovel that I absolutely adore because it manages to circumvent every bad stereotype of QT novels but the translations are slow. Ghost Games is specifically inspired by its 5th arc) [UNCOMPLETED]

Supernatural Movie Actor App: (recommended) A man finds an app where he has to "act" in horror movies to earn points for his wish to make his lover a body

(An amazing webnovel that is filled with fun, action, and suspense; the main characters are brilliant and I loved how each arc keeps you excited) [COMPLETED]

Card Room: A policeman and a forensic scientist accidentally fall into a game where they have to go through different trials in order to survive

(A fun and mysterious novel, tho it's very long (around 500 chapters) and I stopped halfway through) [COMPLETED]

Edit: I finished it! I recommend it only if you have the time to read it through, and although the ending suffered bc the author got lazy, it was actually a fun and interesting read! The cards/trials were all super interesting, so I had fun! (Recommended)

Kaleidoscope of Death: (recommended) A man accidentally enters the 12 doors, which is a supernatural event that can either save him or kill him

(Everyone and their mother is in the reviews section with EXACTLY identical reviews: "this novel is great but the plot twist is trash. Five stars" 💀. I agree with them. A fantastic and HELLA scary novel but as long as you avoid the extras (which holds the plot twist), the novel is amazing. After reading it, I was afraid to open cabinets for a while and no longer feared death 😔 it is so bloody) [COMPLETED]

High Energy QR Code: (recommended) A man tries to investigate his brother's death, and in doing so, falls into a game world

(I really enjoyed this fic bc it's similar to Supernatural Movie Actor App where the MC is naturally intelligent without seeming obnoxious, and the stories and arcs are all well thought out, creative, and fun. There's also somewhat found family, which I love. It was so much better than what I was expecting, but then again, the author has always made amazing stories (They’ve literally created the most highly rated novel on NovelUpdates and that novel inspired me as a person fr fr no cap. Highly recommend!!! It will change your life!!)) [UNCOMPLETED]

A Crowd of Evil Spirits Line Up to Confess to Me: A man who can see ghosts gets pulled into a ghost game, but there's always a ghost in it that seems to fall in love with him

Mal, aspec icon, and also reasons why I love Widdershins in general

So, as a birthday present to myself I recently bought physical copies of all ten currently available volumes of the webcomic Widdershins, and I’m currently rereading all of them from the beginning, and I’m just. Having emotions about it!! This post is part Widdershins propaganda (go read it) and part rambley thought dump on the parts I'm excited about on my reread. (I’ll try to stay away from major spoilers, but read at your own risk.)

A vague bit of context for anyone who knows nothing about Widdershins: Historical fantasy, set mostly in Victorian* England, centered on the fictional English town of Widdershins, which is the location of a magical “anchor” which is a source/amplifier of magic. Magical practitioners are called wizards (regardless of gender—witches also exist but are a very different thing) and the magic system revolves around summoning “spirits” of various emotions, and using/making deals with said spirits to imbue objects with magical properties. The tone is pretty light and adventure-y, and very fun. Every arc jumps back and forth between a few different sets of characters, but their paths all eventually cross.

(*technically slightly pre-Victorian. The ongoing and final installment is set during/around Victoria’s coronation. There’s also flashbacks, visits to other locales, and a Time Travel Episode)

The character I remember getting most attached to when I first read Widdershins, and the one I’m currently having the most emotions about on my reread, is Mal (aka O’Malley). First of all, I completely forgot that he’s canonically ace (and maybe aro)??** His significant relationships throughout his arcs are all close friends with found family vibes—when we first meet them, he and his longtime friend Wolfe have been traveling around Europe together for years, on what money they can earn from Wolfe’s busking (he plays violin) and Mal’s somewhat cheating at cards. Wolfe is an optimistic, calm and gentle person, and he clearly brings out the best in the very grumpy and abrasive Mal. They rely on each other, make sacrifices for each other, and generally have just such a lovely relationship--one thing I find particularly sweet is that it’s shown multiple times that listening to Wolfe’s violin playing helps Mal relax and makes him happy.

I’ve rambled before about “love as in significance” and how my favorite fictional relationships are ones where two characters are deeply important to each other, in a non-romantic and/or ambiguous way. To me Wolfe and Mal are a perfect example of that kind of deep friendship, effectively a life partnership, with no romance.

(**Widdershins also has multiple gay/lesbian characters, some of whom get romance arcs, and at least one canonically trans person. In Victorian England. There’s also a fair amount of non-white characters. I cannot stress enough how much this is just Not A Thing within the story. I believe the in-universe justification is that random magic ability evened the scales, and things like oppression and colonialism never got as bad as they did in our world. What it works out to is fun escapist adventures where homophobia and racism aren’t obstacles to the diverse cast, which is exactly my type of story. It’s definitely not trying to be historically accurate, but doesn’t get bogged down in modern labels, either.)

Mal also has a really satisfying character arc going on. He can see magical spirits, including the ones around people, and read their emotions—this is not a normal thing within this magical universe, and he mostly considers it a burden/annoyance, as it makes people (especially crowds) overwhelming. It turns out to be a whole thing, which I won’t spoil, but in my reread I just finished book 7, curtain call, which is the conclusion to the first big arc of Widdershins and includes a really cool flashback scene into Mal’s past. He’s got a whole thing going on where he makes some new friends, and eventually decides to stop running away from things. It’s really hard to talk about without spoiling, so I’ll just say that he’s still my favorite character and his arc is very strong.

Mal (and Wolfe) star in chapters 2 and 5, and feature prominently among a larger rotation of characters in chapters 7 and 9. The various chapters/books rotate through different sets of characters, but they're all lovable and you'll get attached to new characters quickly. Some other really fun characters from various Widdershins stories include:

Harriet “Harry” Barber, a bounty hunter who tracks down magical artifacts with the help of her magic-sniffing dog Gren (who she may or may not have stolen from the police)

Sidney Malik, who is cursed with accidental kleptomania (other people’s things just appear in his pockets, and he feels very bad about it). He got kicked out of wizard university for said kleptomania and is now pursuing his true passion of being a stage magician

Verity Cunningham, inventor slash bounty hunter slash Harry’s former-partner-turned-rival, and the greatest bounty hunter who ever lived, if she says so herself (which she will, loudly)

Lei Feng, who I can’t actually say anything about because all the coolest things about her are spoilers, but trust me she goes through some fun twists (she’s a magician’s assistant/inventor)

Alexa King, a baker with green hair who is going to Widdershins to win a baking competition in the year 2013, and if you’re wondering what this has to do with Victorian England and if it involves time travel shenanigans, yes, yes it does

Harry and Sid are the stars of the first chapter, and they're very close seconds to Mal in terms of my favorite cast members. If I have made this webcomic sound cool enough that you want to try it, please go check out their super fun story.

(P.S. A note about romance, since this post is partially about aspec things and i'm addressing it to my very aro corner of tumblr. Some of the chapters/characters in Widdershins have romance subplots, which never take up too much space in the story and are very well written in my opinion. I am someone who is super picky about romance in books, and I've rooted for every single romantic relationship in the comic--they're very sweet, and all built around two people who get along and are important to each other, as the friendships are. No forced romance or painful amatonormativity here.)

EoM update Pt. 1

My blocks of little reactions for other campaigns is put on hold for this one. I have so much I want to say about Edge of Midnight but its diffrent. I want to sit and just talk through the campaign and all my thoughts, not little silly posts but something in depth. This campaign is much more serious than the others I'd watched. Of course its got funny moments, some that have made me genuinely howl with laughter. But the thing is its just got me so invested and enthralled, a 10/10 campaign. The horror in it is amazing and Nikkie is so descriptive, I've nearly thrown up multiple times, but like its just really really *good* The friendships in this campaign are my favorite of any so far, the way Marius protects everyone and they all just kinda have a deep concern and care for each other. They all just decided when they met that they were all- well- in a sense, family. Everyone of their personalities I adore, they all just care about each other, even Briggsy LOL The characters themselves, even outside of that found family vibe, are all amazing. I could go on for a while about each of them. And I will. LETS START WITH THE PRETTY BOY. Marius. Marius is amazing, I'm usually not too keen on the "good boy paladin" i think the trope is usually boring. But god did Andy do it right. Marius is protective, brave, affectionate, and very set on his morals. He knows he's made mistakes and is SET on making it right and making sure his friends/family are safe and healthy. And more than that, strangers too. But he's not naive, he's anything but, especially because of his Vampire-esc nature. WHICH BY THE WAY IS MY FAVORITE PART OF HIS CHARACTER. The way Andy describes Marius's vampiric nature is so badass. And you can just FEEL the way Marius feels about it too. I love it. PRETTY LADY TIME Lethica. I love Lethica, she's cunning and beautiful and rather sly. You would think she'd be stoic, and while she *is*, she's also funny, sarcastic, passive aggressive, but also caring. She too cares deeply about those around her even if she doesn't show it as openly as Marius, but you can tell. I also love her goofy bag of holding, i know its evil but why make it so likeable??? ALSO (mild spoilers for episode 8) When Yorgrim gets his ass beat by Billy, her reaction was to rush over to him and gently place her hand on his arm. "Yorgrim.." She casted healing word with his name being the healing word. I don't know why but i LOVE that. Usually with these guys healing word is some goofy shit but she just softly says their name and I don't know I just LOVE THAT. Especially with her accent god i'm gay i love her she's hot anyways FREN SHAPED SCARECROW!! (and weird crow) Jericho. I love my lil tall baby boy scarecrow crow demon baby, and Virgil is here too ig. Jericho was the first character we met and good for it because I was attached to him imminently. He's so sweet and he just wants friends, and good thing Marius is there because they're laterally the best-est best friends I love their goofy dynamic. Jerichos songs are so silly and creative and I love them. His whole weird bird thing is also SUPER interesting, seeing Virgil take over was a huge change of pace and I wish it got touched on more. Give him hugs, he deserves them. PLEASE hug him. Virgil is goofy, tell him to stop being mean MORE TO COME I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THE OTHER THREE

is sticky compelling enough to watch the Marvel movies for the first time in 2024AD? apologies if this is a hammer meeting hornets nest question lol

I did not forget you I promise! I wanted to answer this after I had shown The Winter Soldier to my boyfriend (who hasn't seen early marvel movies) so I could have evidence, but then it took us a week to get to. I now have a more expert opinion, though. No hornets nests I don't think. Also this is all my opinion no one sue me.

Okay so first of all, there are like 20-something marvel movies and the majority of them are not worth watching unless you have a emotional attachment to someone involved, you're nostalgic, or are researching for fanfiction. I don't know your tastes exactly but I'm not condemning you to hours of movies unless you know for sure they're what you want lol. (No judgement though if they end up being your favorites, to be clear.) I like the Iron Man movies, the first Thor is hilarious, the first Avengers is fun, Guardians of the Galaxy is fun if you can stand watching Chris Pratt, but like. you're fine without all of it. There are better things happening in the world.

I think Steve/Bucky is an awesome ship, and I love their characterization in the early movies. The fanfiction for that ship is better than any other, hands down. One of my favorite poems was written about them. There are full metafictions analyzing fake historical books written in their universe. It's like nothing I've ever seen. Experiencing the MCU has totally been worth it for me, just for that. If you want to explore them and the fic, I would say the bare minimum would be the first two Captain Americas.

The First Avenger (#1) is a backstory for Steve and Bucky and mostly takes place during WW2. You don't have to have watched any other movies, and I think it's quite enjoyable. Steve has a straight romance in it, which did result in a lot of gay shippers sidelining/hating the main female character, which is a shame because she's awesome! Fans need to either agree to disagree but also maybe invite some polyamory into their shipping. Anyway. Awesome intro to them--not gonna win an award, but great soundtrack, great characters, solid story. There's some propaganda (although a lot of it is self-aware and the main characters comment on it?) and there's some cheesy comic book fighting, but honestly I have fun with it.

The Winter Soldier (#2) is (as you probably know) THE Stucky movie. Even saying that is kinda spoiling it, but ah well. Now there are a few movies that happen in between, but I'm gonna say read a Wikipedia summary of the first Avengers (2012) and you're good to go. You just have to know that aliens attacked New York, and that Steve's been hanging out in the future with other superheros. (If you end up wanting to read iconic 2012-13 Avengers fic where they're all a found family, maybe watch Avengers 1 so you can get the vibes. That's a good reason.) TWS is a good ass movie. Genuinely. It's got political thriller vibes and it has the best character dynamics in any Marvel movie--especially for Black Widow/Natasha. Soundtrack is good, fight choreography is at its best, everyone's snarky and tender, Sebastian Stan puts his whole pussy into making puppy dog eyes while shooting people--it's the Stucky thesis statement, and it's required reading for the fanfiction.

The only other movie that is interesting Steve/Bucky-wise is Civil War (#3)--but that one functions more as an Avengers movie, and you would need to watch the preceding movies. It hinges on the fact that Steve would do anything for Bucky, which I enjoy watching, but I can't say it's worth it if you don't care about any of the other characters. Just know that Steve would defy all governments for his boyfriend. That's the thesis.

The thing to know going forward from TWS: it goes downhill, and Steve's character is destroyed. Not right away, there are some good shenanigans, but (spoiler warning) Avengers Endgame is one of the worst things I've ever watched and Steve's ending destroys his character and removes the autonomy from one of their best female characters, as well as spitting in the face of Bucky and their relationship (even platonically it's still a betrayal). If you get into it and want to keep going, I just need you to know this. I need you to know that they're not gonna give you anything better than what you've seen. Their AO3 tag has more than enough for a lifetime. You'll be fine.

As a preacher of the Stucky gospel, I say watch at least two fun movies so you can be witness to one of the greatest ships of this generation. It's only like 4 hours of your life. It'll be educational at the very least.
