I would like to share my conspiracy board for how Charly could still be alive and brought back next season.

Brannon Braga who ran Star Trek Enterprise also writes for the Orville. In Enterprise's season 3 finale Archer is blown up saving the Earth, in a scene quite similar to Charlys final moments.

After the explosion it is revealed that Archer was saved by being sent back in time by more powerful beings. The first two episodes of season 4 are spent in the past rescuing him and restoring the timeline.

This season the Orville has had a time travel episode *and* introduced reality bending higher beings. They could have done any number of things to save Charly without disrupting the impact of her sacrifice. They could've simply pulled her out, or sent her backwards or forwards through time like the device did to Gordon earlier this season. Anyway a reveal at the beginning of season 4 that Charly is alive would be great, it happened on Enterprise, it's the same deal and same corresponding seasons as Enterprise, I rest my case.

Okay, this was honestly just a matter of time. I'm a huge Star Trek fan and The Orville is currently the best Trek out there. I LOVED it since season one, because yeah, it's fun and I love these chaotic characters, but you could recognize from the beginning how deep it could be behind the parody facade. Not sounding promising if Adrianne's recent comments are anything to go by. But there is one glimmer of hope here: American TV in the streaming era is no longer beholden to the concept of airing in consecutive years, and hasn't been for quite some time. As such as the medium is moving more towards the UK format, if several years pass before a new season, it can still work (the only risk of course is losing cast members to new projects in the interim). After all, Red Dwarf had something like a 6-year gap before it's 6th or 7th season and then went away for a full decade (leaving the BBC in the process) before resuming. I also wouldn't put an Orville movie out of the realm of possibility, either.

I just started watching The Orville, and finished episode 4 ‘If the Stars Should Appear’

The only thing I can think of is how the power vacuum went after the Orville left. I mean sure, they’re sending an education vessel. But what happened before it arrived? Did Hamelac try and retain control? Did he tell the truth?

I really want a fic about what happened, and I can’t help but feel like Tomilin should be a major character.

I checked and there don’t appear to be ANY fics on ao3 about the bio-ship. I find that to be a travesty. And yet I cannot correct it. For I am a terrible writer. 😢

The Orville fandom on X is really starting to frustrate me. They legit can't be happy about anything.

okay so looking at interviews and stuff the main plot of Orville Season 4 is planned to be Ed going off to rescue Anaya from behind enemy lines while Kelly takes over command of the ship

with this information here’s some hopes: 

Isaac becomes the XO, both as a gesture of goodwill to the Kaylon and because someone needs to keep Kelly in check at all times due to her severe lack of impulse control

Malloy and Lysella hit it off (continuing his pattern of going for 21st century types) 

The extra work hours puts a bit of a strain on Isaac and Claire’s new marriage but he makes a point of carving out time for her and the kids because he doesn’t want to make the same mistake as Ed and Kelly <3 (luckily he doesnt need to sleep)

Bortus and Clyden and Topa learning how to be a family again, Clyden expanding his horizons and undoing his societal conditioning, Both Bortus and Clyden learning how to co-parent with Kelly because Topa needs a stable feminine mentor

When Ed leaves it’s with some super hot Union spy dude and the 1 ep we get focused on their mission is gay as hell (we need more Bi!Ed content lbr) 

More GNC and queer content in general (Chad Coleman says he wants more exploration of LGBT themes and I agree it’d be great if they could weave that in)

Finale episode is a fluffy one with Ed acclimating Anaya to the Orville after he gets her back

so from all the twitter rumors I've divined that:

-seems PRETTY likely that The Orville was renewed, but we won't hear this news for awhile?

-if true, it sounds like filming won't start until 2025, but you know what? I'm fine with waiting as long as it comes. We had to wait FOREVER for New Horizons and it was 100000% worth it because that is one of the finest seasons of television I've seen in a long while. I appreciate that this show takes the time to get it right, I know the VFX houses that worked on New Horizons are extremely proud of the work they've done because unlike what the Marvel machine does, they had the time to do beautiful work. And it really is beautiful work. Every episode of New Horizons felt like a feature film.

-Seth has repeatedly said that it will take time if it's renewed, because they have to get everyone under contract again, but he's also said that he's not worried about getting everyone back on board because the cast loves it

-in January he said it was "50/50" that it would be renewed

-in February/March rumors began floating around that season 4 was being written

-as an aside, I have noticed social media activity for this show has increased a lot? especially here on tumblr. The Orville tag has suddenly gotten kind of bumpin as opposed to a couple years ago when New Horizons was actually airing and I'd go to "the orville" tag and 90% of the posts were about Orville Peck. I think it's done well for Disney.

-idk, I'm feeling bullish on this one? Seth wants to make more of this show and he has a really good track record of getting his way with networks when he really wants to keep a show going.

Sad Playlist and Music Analysis Interpreting Selected Songs as They Pertain to My Personal Good Omens Brain Rot

After watching Good Omens season 2 I needed a sad playlist about it.

I collected some songs that made me think of Them or what happened, but I just sat on it for a while. One day my brain demanded I assemble them. Some were thrown out and a few added after the fact. I spent a completely normal amount of time curating the choices and their position on the playlist. Linked and listed at the bottom of this post.

Most of the songs were chosen to represent a point of view or set of feelings that either Aziraphale OR Crowley might be experiencing in a moment of the audience experiencing them, but some were chosen as more a duet. To represent what both might be feeling either together or about one another. If you are keen to guess which songs represent which character before reading any analysis, I’d be interested to see what people think!

I will link each listed song to its own separate analysis. I will mostly analyze them in order and with no particular timeline. They are all done! When I analyze, I intend for everything to be assumed that it’s all “in my opinion” or “to me” or “the way I interpret it for this purpose” so I will avoid using these phrases to keep things succinct. The intention of the writer is mostly irrelevant unless specifically stated, especially since I don’t know what their intentions were and these interpretations are applied specifically to how I view them through my Good Omens addled brain.

I will also use specific words to mean specific things. Capitalized and trademarked Good™ and Evil™, and the word right/righteous. They will specifically mean the exalted “Good” of heaven, the damned “Evil” of Hell, and what has been meditated upon and judged as the right thing to do regardless of Goodness™ or Evilness™. Furthermore, I am TERRIBLE about citing sources so I probably won’t do it unless I think it’s REALLY important. But I also won’t state something as fact I’m not 100% sure about unless I qualify it.

And please remember, music is personal. Some of these songs may mean something to you that they don’t mean to me. This was my own personal therapy, and I am just putting it into the ether because I want to articulate it for myself and I think others like me might find it interesting.
