Happy Birthday to #RachelMcAdams. After graduating from a theatre degree program at York University in 2001, she worked in Canadian television and film productions, such as the drama film Perfect Pie (2002), for which she received a Genie Award nomination, the comedy film My Name Is Tanino (2002), and the comedy series Slings and Arrows (2003–2005), for which she won a Gemini. In 2002, she made her Hollywood film debut in the comedy #TheHotChick. She rose to fame in 2004 with the comedy #MeanGirls and the romantic drama #TheNotebook. In 2005, she starred in the romantic comedy #WeddingCrashers, the psychological thriller #RedEye, and the comedy-drama #TheFamilyStone. She was hailed by the media as Hollywood's new "it girl", and received a #BAFTAAward nomination for Best Rising Star. She is 44 today.

🎄For the first 25 days of December, I will be posting something I love to watch during this Holiday Season. Tonight's pick is The Family Stone. Without a doubt, this is my favorite modern Christmas movie, if not my absolute favorite. I could write a whole book about why I love it but I'll keep this short. These characters are absolutely fascinating but also very relatable. With each watch, I continue to be moved and charmed by the tale of the Stone and Morton families. And even though I laugh, cry and cheer at almost all the same places, my reactions are as genuine as the first time I saw it in the movie theater. And when my own mother, much like Diane Keaton in the film, fought a battle with breast cancer, these characters brought me comfort. It's a very beautiful film. Then next up on my list it was time to watch #thefamilystone I've been dying to see this film for years now and finally on Friday night/Saturday I finally got to do just that, the final thing altogether that I really understood from the film is that I hated Sarah Jessica Parker's character so much and didn't really understand the whole point of the movie when you didn't get to understand much of what her characters sister and her fiancé had in common or together.
