simply have not been reading v much fic the past year or two my peak fic-reading year was in 2022…however have enjoyed some r/s oneshots + a few drarry fics over the past few months!
crushed ice by sectoren @sectoren is a really fun r/s oneshot in which s keeps showing up 2 r’s part-time jobs…had me giggling & kicking my feet etc…
your hand in mine and other brief, annihilating intimacies by superloonyluna @superloonyluna is another r/s oneshot w absolutely beautiful writing in which s is a performer in a traveling theater troupe & r is their last minute stand-in for the leading man <3
revolvevlover by firethesound & zeitgeistic is a drarry fic that actually killed me…technically a oneshot as well but it’s 56k words so. harry is an assassin who gets assigned draco as a mark…ending made me wanna throw my phone at the wall 🤧
nor all that glisters by sweet_sorrow (sweet_s0rr0w? i can’t tell w the ao3 font…) @sweet-s0rr0w is another drarry fic in which draco starts taking felix felicis post-war during his house arrest 2 try and turn his life around 🤭

i've had so much fun reading other answers to these questions over the last few weeks!! thank you @nv-md and @sweet-s0rr0w for mentioning me in your posts!! i fear my answers drifted much too far into self-indulgence, but what's new for this blog eh??

22, but one of them is 11 separate drabbles/microfics in a 2k-word jacket

i'll only ever write hp on this username!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
all drarry:
the four doors (legilimency healer draco + memory loss)
adventures in truth and texting (advent texting fic)
all i have to do (draco thinks harry is a magical fantasy but whoops he's real)
eight o'clock, tomorrow evening (four doors sequel)
two to lie and one to listen (8th year fake dating, sort of)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
i respond to everything on the final chapter of a fic! sometimes very kind commenters will say something at the end of every single chapter, which is SUCH a joy to receive, but i haven't yet figured out a way of saying "thank you!" 26 times over without sounding insincere
(i also don't usually respond to comments on fics i've co-written bc i don't feel like i have? the right? feels like i'm taking credit for something i did not really do!)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
also drarry: for lack of wanting, wherein harry thinks it's sexy when draco acts like an evil dick again, and draco is too in love with harry to tell him that makes him feel weird
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
man i think all the rest are pretty happy, all things considered? tho i guess two to lie and wrapped are the only ones that end with explicit i-love-yous?
8. Do you get hate on fics?
i've been quite lucky, actually! i've had the occasional demand to change an angsty ending, or comments that have been quite mean about a character who isn't supportive of drarry. oh and i've had a couple of people get suuuper mad when draco malfoy, death eater and snotty spoilt brat, makes mildly immoral decisions. i've found all of those quite funny tho, which i'm sure i wouldn't if they were legitimate hate, so i don't think they count!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
yep! the vibe of two characters wanting to fuck but knowing they shouldn't for some reason (uneven dynamic, magic stuff, they simply haven't had a fucking conversation about it) is my absolute favourite. will read it every time, will write it pretty much every time too 😅
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
the closest i've come to writing a crossover is say no to this, a fic vaguely based off the storyline of the song from hamilton. it was the first drarry fic i'd written in about 10 years!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
yep! not any under this username (that i know of), but someone re-uploaded an old drarry fic of mine to wattpad – and honestly, i don't mind at all. i don't think the fic is very good lmao, if someone else wants to take the blame for it, that's totally fine by me
(the wildest thing about it is the combined ff.net + wattpad views of that fic now top 2 million i think?! but despite that u have almost definitely not heard of it!! i've only seen it mentioned, like, maybe 3 times since i properly re-joined fandom spaces in 2020)
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes!!!! it's SUCH an honour!!! the four doors is in german, chinese, russian and spanish; thirst (drarry vampire fic) is in chinese; and all i have to do (the not-fantasy-harry fic) is in russian 🥰
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
yes!!! well, sort of – officially, i co-wrote per my last letter (i hope you choke on it) with @lastontheboat, but i really do think i was more like an alpha reader with knobs on. the workload split was at least 25/75, with j shouldering a great deal of the burden (and all of the brilliance)!
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
this is going to sound silly given that i'm definitely a drarry writer and only really hang out in the drarry sphere – but i don't have one! for hp, i gravitate towards ships with harry in them, but even that isn't a hard and fast rule for me
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
nothing that i've posted! but i have tons that are never going to see the light of day. three recent-ish hp ones i've written the most for:
a fic i call The Opus, which is a drarry auror partners fic – i have 16k words written; it was going to end up a solid 100k. i love the concept i have for this fic so, so dearly, but a 100k casefic is not happening.
a harry/ginny established relationship smutty oneshot that is really nothing more than ginny being fun and sexy and harry being horny but, like, self-deprecating about it.
a drarry little mermaid au that i wrote for nanowrimo in 2019. like i MIGHT come back to this one day? but it's unlikely. pros: i do have 50k of it written already and the first draft isn't too far off being complete. cons: i have almost exactly 50k words of it written bc i hit the nano goal and stopped in the middle of a sentence bc writing it was SO stressful (that november i had two jobs + one volunteering role, and also i was moving house, so. a lot going on.)
16. What are your writing strengths?
god knows. dialogue and characters come easiest to me, ig? and i tend to cut a lot in editing, so i don't think my stuff is? overly wordy? so it doesn't require much brainpower to read? that could be a positive or a negative, depending on how you look at it!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
i suck at caring about anything other than character dynamics, so my fics never have plot outside of something vague to put the main pairing in the same room
similarly, i'm not very good at describing locations – describing anything, really
bc i tend to focus on the "oh we want to but we shouldn't!" moment, i'm pretty bad at actually developing feelings in longer fics – that part always feels too rushed to me, but fuck if i know a way of fixing it that isn't just, like, write another 20k
i think my endings usually feel like a bit of an afterthought and often quite forced
the more i write, the more i realise i know, like, 5 ways of phrasing anything, and i just repeat the same things over and over
i'm trying to fix my lack of skills with plotting + pacing by planning extensively before i start drafting, but i think that takes a bit of the spark out of the final version? it becomes a bit predictable and samey?
em dashes every tenth word
i'm convinced ppl i respect are in group chats talking abt how annoying and bad at writing i am, and also lowkey (…highkey) i agree with them – so actually getting myself to write anything is super hard!!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
yeah man! i mean, i personally am not sufficiently confident in my skills in any other language to do it without help (and i'm not sufficiently confident in my skills in asking for help to do that), but it's fun to read imo
19. First fandom you wrote for?
i've dabbled in a few over the years, but the first was hp – it was a marauders era snape/lily/james love triangle fic that i posted on a forum on a hp roleplaying site – this was before deathly hallows came out, so i was very smug when my pairing theory (that i undoubtedly stole from someone cleverer than me, because i was 13 years old) turned out to be true
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
god. @decaflondonfog recently told me that drabbles don't really count, so i? don't know? perhaps still the pine-woods scent the moon (guilty remus/harry) or taste of țuică (established drarry bringing ron in as a third) are the ones i like best, but i don't love either of them enough to be able to confidently declare them my favourite!
u know the drill: i got too sad and anxious and unfollowed everyone so i have no idea who to tag. if u made it this far please know i do love you very much, i want to kiss u on the cheek at LEAST, and would love to know any thoughts u have about the things u make ❤️

1. How many works do you have on ao3?
Six so far!
2. What’s your total ao3 word count?
57,991 —which might not seem much but still, very proud of it, specially because a year ago, I wouldn’t have dreamed writing that many words.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
So far only marauders, but I have some drarry/golden trio era in the making, as well as some PJO and GO so, we’ll see!
4. What are you top 5 fics by kudos?
Since I don’t have that many I’ll only put my top three:
Archenemies (or so he thought) -> Sirius hunts down his bestie James for ditching him on a prank and finds him cuddling with the enemy (a black cat) who turns out to be more of a pain in the ass than he expected, especially because for some reason, the little shit acts a lot like his brother.
Don’t threaten me with a good time -> Ah, Black cats, mischievous little things, aren’t they? Known for being a pain in the ass for older brothers, a good companion for best friends and devil incarnated for lovers and love ones alike.
When it rains -> It all comes down to a certain bus stop on a rainy week. Between interesting chats, pastries and being almost ran over by a purple car, there’s something about the person they share the bus stop with that seems familiar. (Basically a bunch of meet-cutes and pinning idiots being, well, idiots)
5. Do you respond comments? Why or why not?
I do, yes! I love responding to comments but sometimes I tell myself I’m going to answer later in the day and I forget :( but I do love comments, they make my day every time. 💘
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hands down it will be slow dancing in the dark, the whole fic is quite angsty, at least for me, but I wouldn’t say it has a angsty ending, maybe a little— nvm I just re-read it. Yeah, it’s sad.
7. What is a fic your wrote with the happiest ending?
My babygirl some sunny day, that fic is my go-to when I remember this fandom is based in death, angst and misery hahaha. Some sunny day is like a, well, a ray of sunshine lmao. It has my favorite setting, my fave pairs and some Spanish here and there. Love it dearly.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Thankfully no, maybe some weird ones but nothing that I would count as hateful. Really grateful for that, dunno what I would do if I were to receive those on a daily basis, never post again most likely lmao.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Haven’t post smut yet but I wrote some, still in the doc and everything but is there, waiting to be posted 😈
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest you’ve written?
Not really my thing, no. but maybe! who knows

The empire of the sun trilogy jsjsjs maybe I’ll finish the first one but the other two seem pretty far away for me right now, but one never knows so.
Also copying Kay’s answer here because my google docs also looks like a graveyard of unfinished works lmao.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I believe I give a solid characterization and maybe storytelling (?? Inner monologue maybe? love to see the chaos i created in my little puppets.
17. What are you writing weaknesses?
Run on sentences, I’ve been told I tend to do that a lot hehe and comas —also it costs me greatly to just write, if I’m not in the mood it’s hard for me to just go for it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
1000% I’m favor. Some of my fics have French/Spanish in them, I like the idea of leaving non-spanish speakers to go to the end notes or to google translate or straight-up wonder what the hell I’m talking about jsjsj

Some 1D and JB back in the day, so you bet your asses y/n and I were besties
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
About time, scars and the brightest stars is my absolute favorite. That fic is the love of my life, it has everything I love and more and rn I can put the link bc I took it down so I can finish it all and post it in one go but yeah, that one.

Oh geez idk. I tend to write happy/hopeful endings? Tho sometimes my beta is like this is NOT happy ENOUGH which always has me questioning my perception of happiness lol

I wrote a drarry meets gallavich crossover for @floydig once!! but I don't think I'd do one outside of a joke LOL

Yes!! Mostly hate of a char I wrote in a fic, which was fantastic as it was exactly what I wanted. I've gotten the not-great hate before too, but I can't recall exactly what as I deleted it within seconds 😂 curate your experience folks.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I don't that often. I have to be pretty damn "in the mood" to write smut, otherwise it does not work. Can't have my mind half on work & trying to get them to do the dirty. 😂 But yeah it's usually pretty dirty.

What’s your all time favorite ship?
It's definitely Drarry. I tend to fall hard for rarepairs in most other fandoms, but the lack of material makes me drift.

Oh god actually now that I think about it, I think it was Kingdom Hearts back on fanfiction.net in middle school. My first foray into slash and lemons and limes jesus christ LOL just thinking about it makes me cringe.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
right now I am loving Thank You for Your Kindness. I wrote it as a bit of TLC for myself & it remains a comfort. 🥰

Lyra – I think you’ve convinced me that a time-travel au is now viable for Lyra and we can do FB verses LOL, so perhaps Lyra ends up in a different place. She’d probably get stuck in this time trying to cure the curse for Nagini lmao
Lucius – is probably the only other muse that I could think of that would work. Possibly when he’s young if the curse hasn’t completely taken over, maybe they know one another? Potential ship? wiggles eyebrows (but that’s mainly cause my Luci is a slut and will try to put it anywhere smh)
Pansy:
Draco – Immediately I think Dransy ahaha, I think they’d be super sweet when they were younger and dating, I definitely have a headcanon that they were betrothed when they were younger and actually got along but then after the war it dissolved and given Draco’s distance during their 6th and 7th year, as did their relationship
Lyra – always an interesting relationship if you go off the dransy betrothal, whether she is in her main verse and is sort of like a mentor/friend to Pansy or in the year above and is new to Hogwarts
Ron – I mean, I ship it lmao, it’s an unlikely pair but it is so tasty when it works ahaha, though I know not everyone is down with that, depends on your headcanons for Pansy, would love to know more
Ginny – again I ship it (I am a shipping whore lmao) but this would be a post-war deal and also depends on your Pansy
Theo – yesssss, my sweet baby Theo and Pansy (another ship lol), but really he’s just a very good and sweet friend to Pansy I feel and he’s a massive nerd so if she needs study help he’s your boy
Blaise – my Blaise is a sleaze, he will try to get with anyone he can, esp Pans lol
Astoria – this might be good for some awkward adult tension lol, but maybe like Astoria is good friends with Pansy cause I assume she’s friends with Daphne and like Pans thinks of her as a baby sister?
Millicent and Daphne – just typical girl shenanigans lol
Marcus – another sleaze and potential ship LOL

Marcus – I can see him giving her a hard time, whilst also being wildly inappropriate (god I hate him)

Lyra – I always try to sell this to every Harry I see but Hyra (yes that’s their ship name lol) there’s so much I love about their dynamic though, both for my main verse and lightning
one I like to explore is my main verse Lyra, so there’s a 10 year age gap and they have to have shared custody of Teddy after Andromeda dies
but mainly it’s been Lyra transferring to Hogwarts after Book 4 to be closer to home and she’s a year above Harry and Harry’s nice to her and she’s like welp now I feel guilty my fam wants you dead lol
oh yeah and arranged marriage post war where they’re like oh we gotta unite the two sides so there’s less discrimination so Harry why don’t you marry the daughter of the people who like tortured you and wanted you dead
Ron – also another ship lol but also just such a good bromance, like Harry makes Ron feel like so much more than he’s used to. Ron is just so used to being overlooked and overshadowed and for once in his life, with Harry he’s special and important and I just jghafdjbjdgs but just anything with these two is just so good
Draco – I mean drarry is great, tbh Draco isn’t that strong of a muse so I’m like ehhhhh (tbh I’m tempted to drop him lol)
Ginny – ok, so I ship book Hinny but I also don’t. They’re just… I don’t know. I feel like they’ve got a lot of work to go through before they can really be together – but exploring those things, working through those things and making Hinny viable is a yes, otherwise I think they’re a great friendship
My other Slytherin babies I’m sorta like eh about, like not that enthusiastic about writing them together (they just don’t inspire me as much as the others, though I’m always down to explore further lmao) like:
Lucius would be just plain manipulation and abuse
Theo would be a sweet boyfriend to Harry
Blaise would just use him for clout
Astoria – oh yeah maybe something about their sons? just chatting, parent stuff
Millicent – would be a plain old bitch eh and so would Marcus and Daph lol
Young Albus Dumbledore I only see as teaching Lucius though this is not in FB era so yeah not sure, would be interested in Lyra’s time travel au how they’d interact though I have a lot of headcanons about their relationship based on my fic so idk if it’d work
Ambrosine:
Lyra – oh it’d be so interesting to put these together in the same year as my ‘Lyra Canon’ (born in 1970 so 11 years before Voldy fails)
whether Ambrosine attends Durmstrang with Lyra and the two of them decide to break into Karkaroff’s office together and torture him lol
or they’re reunited at Hogwarts when Lyra does that independently

You've got the antidote for me by Kandakicksass it's SUCH a great fic I can't believe I can't read it for the first time again, i know u don't usually read this type of fic but I swear this is worth it, Drarry + Heavy Angst = Amazing Fic
Also shout out to The Ordeal of Being Known and its sequel The Rewards of Being Loved by Louisfake, wish I could read them for the very first time again because they mean the world to me and I love them so much, they make me feel so many things<3
😭 A fic that ripped your heart out (but it hurt so good)
Do you mean besides yours? lmao. okay, this one HAS to go to Art Heist, Baby! by @otrtbs I remember I couldn't put it down no matter how hard I tried, I read it like a fucking maniac and I remember with a certain clarity that when I got to that chapter and so on, I couldn't stop crying. And that never happened to me before with other fics (besides yours) so it was startling for me. I love that fic (and nat) to bits<3
Not so long ago I also read If We Survive the Great War by @arakhnee and tho it didn't quite rip my heart out, it's one of those fics that made me feel so bad for the character's storyline. Pandalily my beloveds go down like and lead balloon and I felt SO bad for them :(

I had to go look through my Tumblr because I didn’t keep track of how they were all doing (sorry my bbs) (only because I think tumblr isn’t good for keeping stories, ironically)
I honestly don’t think any of them are popular to the point of being called overrated? The post with the highest note is this one and I think I had just posted it at the right time or something. And I thought it was cute
But I think I would say this one, I didn’t really care for it but it got a lot more notes than some of the ones I REALLY liked
minutes: how long does it normally take you to complete a fic?
I’m not sure if I have an accurate fix for this because I write a lot of it during work lmao......so i have to keep hiding it when people walk by.....if it’s short maybe around 1-2hours? The longest one I’ve written (for drarry) it’s 31k and it took about 2 months (I didn’t write for the full two months tho. I was really busy for a few weeks)

A Hero At The End of the World. I agree with most of the review about it-- it’s very evident the author comes from a fanfic background bc writing fic is very different from novels and there’s some things that don’t translate (character development? relationship development?) if you read the book with the knowledge that its essentially drarry fanfic it makes sense, as its own novel there’s a lot rushed

TEN FICS MY TRASHY ASS LOVES
the rapturous @reineyday tagged me to list 10 fics I love from any fandom which is EXCELLENT because now you can see how trashy I actually am deep down (lbr tho the only contemporary fiction I read is fanfiction......................... lmao) and also I just want to share my love of genuinely good fiction which is oft-ignored because they’re transformative works. sO here we go:
Time is a Fine Invention by bluepeony [fandom: Harry Potter; pairing: Remus/Sirius]: This is the first one I read which made me start to take fanfiction seriously as a literary genre. It’s witing is so vividly gorgeous. Essentially, it’s a modern-day uni AU, Sirius is a first year who gets a massive crush on the somewhat standoffish Remus. It’s all very capital-R-Romantic-by-which-I-mean-literally-Romanticism which made me really excited about university (and made me a bit disappointed when my own uni experience turned out to be Less Exciting) and there’s Misunderstanding which gets resolved very maturely. All round excellent read.

Sirius doesn't mean it in a cruel way, really he doesn't. He's hugely appreciative of this person's existence. Why would he try to upset him?
"Oh piss off, pretty boy," the gorgeous buttercup spits, turning to leave with another drag on his fag.
The Boy Who Only Lived Twice by lettered [fandom: Harry Potter; pairing: Harry/Draco]: You know what’s funny? I don’t ship Drarry. But lettered writes with emotion on emotion, affect on affect. It’s incredibly visceral. I don’t know how to describe it, but they achieve the effect of the present tense using the past. Basically, in this fic, Harry is an Unspeakable on missions and falls in love with his partner (who is Polyjuiced and anonymous for the sake of confidentiality) whilst becoming entangled with Malfoy IRL and there’s just. A lot of simply excellent writing.
Malfoy shrugged, and didn’t look at him. “It’s home.”
“Why are you showing me?”
Malfoy took his hand. “Because you’re here.” He dropped Harry’s hand again. “It’s Slytherin colours. I know it’s stupid.”
The Beltane King by Violette_Royale [fandom: Merlin; pairing: Arthur/Merlin]: Unfortunately, she’s deleted all her stuff of the Internet, but Violette_Royale is still one of my absolute favourite fic writers. I absolutely adore how she - quite boldly - inflates the most disgusting of little details in a way that makes them seem enchantingly beautiful. But in The Beltane King, she weaves a complex - almost Mists of Avalon-esque - tale that entwines myth and symbol. Arthur, right after his accession, is betrayed and Merlin, to whom he is bonded in an ancient pact between Pendragons and Dragonlords, takes him away to be tested as he prepares to retake his throne. I particularly loved the representation of women and religion.
It was pure magic, built up by the friction between them, and amplified by the sacred spot in which they had offered their love. The force of it rushed through thme like the breath of a dragon. It filled the grove to the brim, and then overflowed, cascading waves of magic to bless all of Albion.
The torches flared. this had been the sacrifice: Arthur had given himself, and Merlin had been the altar.
Coming Up by Thursday_Next [fandom: Merlin; pairing: Arthur/Merlin]: This is a super-cute 90s music AU, so obviously I adore it. Merlin moves to a seaside town and becomes the guitarist for a budding Britpop band. It’s kinda like Sing Street but 90s, not Irish, and gayer. I do also love how 90s attitudes to queer people are explored and it’s just very cute in general.
The shop door goes, and Merlin huffs out an impatient breath at the customer's timing. Arthur doesn't miss a beat, though.
"Chips and a battered sausage, please," he orders. Merlin glares at him.
"Would that be a large sausage or a regular?" he asks.
"Oh, a large, definitely," he says, with such unmistakable innuendo Merlin almost chokes.
Take this Longing by Polomonkey [fandom: Merlin; pairing: Arthur/Merlin unrequited, Arthur/Gwen]: Hecking Heckeroo this is so heartwrenching! Every time I read this I start crying, but it’s just so emotive. Merlin has depression and is very much in love with Arthur, even though he’s dating Gwen. I felt that the way Polomonkey dealt with mental illness was sensitive and nuanced. A gorgeous, if not sad, read.
It’s past eleven when he gets home and Gwen and Arthur are already in bed. He finds a Clingfilm covered bowl in the kitchen, the remains of the pasta bake inside. There’s a little Post-it note on top saying “Eat me, Merlin!” in Arthur’s messy scrawl.
The bowl is still warm. Merlin feels a tear slide down his cheek and he scrubs it away with the flat of his hand.
There Are No Gays in Football by Malu_3 (Grainne) [fandom: Merlin; pairing: Arthur/Merlin]: This is possibly one of the most realistic takes on modern homophobia I’ve ever read, and it’s just fantastic. It’s all-round good fun, and the relationship between Merlin and Arthur is just so positive and healthy. Arthur is a footballer who starts going out with the club physiotherapist, and he it’s kind of his process of coming out in the rather anti-gay footballing world. It’s all kinds of wonderful, and really long so don’t read all in one go!
By the time Freya returned with their coats, Arthur had wiped his face with bar napkins and replaced his aviators. She wasn't fooled.
"Holy knickers, Em, what did you do to him while I was away?" She dumped a pile of coats on the table. "Tell him you're actually a brutal kinky top and ruin all his closeted wank fantasies?"
From the Moon by butterbeerbitch [fandom: Yuri!!! on Ice; pairing: Yuuri/Viktor]: There’s something seriously evocative about the way the author writes. It’s only short, a little slice of time as Viktor burrows his way into Yuuri’s bed and kisses him, but the portrayal of Yuuri’s anxious interiority is absolutely wonderful.
"Hm…" Victor's face scrunched the way it did when he had trouble understanding things, like when Yuuri's dad had told him about Hadaka Matsuri and Mr. Kanso's Canned Food Restaurant.
The Battersea Buttery by Camelittle [fandom: Merlin; pairing: Arthur/Merlin]: THE FRIENDS AU OF MERLIN. It’s actually so pure and just really, really nice in general. Arthur and Merlin kind of start off sleeping together, but then they embark on an actual relationship which they try to keep secret from (especially) Morgana, lest she tries to interfere by vetting Merlin. It’s just funny and heartwarming in general.
“Bloody hell, Merlin,” Gwaine says in awe. “There must be thirty bites on there!”
Merlin moans. It’s just bloody typical. Mosquitoes love him. He could be in a room full of people, in a swamp, and all the mosquitoes would just ignore all the other folk and converge upon him to chomp. It’s so unfair. Gwaine and Lance are still staring at Merlin’s exposed arse cheek, pointing out the most interesting features of the wound, when Arthur comes into the room to join in the fun.
To Swear at Troy by Oshun [fandom: Alexander the Great; pairing: Alexander/Hephaistion]: A short and sweet one about The Boyz going to Troy and running around and being generally really gay. It’s a bit Renaultish in style, but Alexander and Hephaistion are made a bit more human and it’s all very nice.
It seemed nearly anti-climatic when Alexander finally placed his wreath upon the tomb. But then he turned to Hephaistion, looking into his eyes.
"You are my Patroclus," he said. "The other half of me, the one who keeps me true."
Accidental Memory in the Case of Death by derryere [fandom: Merlin; pairing: Arthur/Merlin]: It’s not the derryere fic that made me cry, but this one is brilliant nonetheless. Anthony is Arthur reincarnated, and he and Emory are drawn - almost inexplicably - to each other as they attempt to navigate what seems to be a shared past. Derryere’s writing is characterised by intense emotion packed into sparse language, and it is unspeakably exquisite.
They go on, and on, Emory's hands threading into his hair and Anthony's hands gripping at his shirt and while Anthony has known long kisses—remembers being fifteen behind the school's gym—this is a new kind of long. This is hot waves down his back and getting ahead of himself in his own head, thinking of ways they could do this forever—learn how to walk in time, how to eat as little and quickly as possible so they can continue as soon as necessary, how to dress with their mouths attached.
Well, there’s certainly a lot more which are just as excellent, but these are just a few which have really stuck with me. Honestly dunno who to tag but honestly just go ahead and do it if you wanna and tell ‘em I sent you.
